I'm always learning tips and tricks that change the way I look at puzzles... but there's just not enough. Ive played over a dozen training rounds and during this time I would be lucky to have encountered 20 different puzzles. ✓ Fun for nowGreat app, and addictive! Passed the Mensa tests when I was a teenager but never really did anything about it. Feeling a bit rusty so was pleased to see this app. Interesting to notice that I definitely have a preference for a certain type of question, but because it's not the real thing I have been able to ponder over some of the ones I don't like and sharpen my brain to look for those patterns. The downside of this app is that, as people say, once you've done the tests a few times the same questions come up so you can get faster at the ones you know and spend more time on the tough ones. Still I'm not looking for a realistic test, just a bank of puzzles to get the grey cells going again, and it certainly delivers that. Some people are complaining its too hard, but just copy out one that you are struggling with and stew on for a while without the time pressure. They aren't impossible, so don't give up! Having said that, on the practice I got one right for a completely different reason than they gave in the explanation! I was feeling pleased with myself until then..Version: 1.1.0

I have a lot of trouble with the number puzzles myself (the what number should replace the ? ones) so it would have been good to see more of those in the practice section. ✓ This is just what I wanted it to beThe whole point of game apps might be to fill in a couple of minutes on the way somewhere, but that's not the whole point of Mensa tests. This one is easy to use, and has a good variety of questions. That's all it needs really. I don't think the answers are so necessary because I think we are fairly sure of those we've answered incorrectly when we submit. The reason for this is because it is like a proper exam. When you sit one of those, you don't know if you got it correct or not until it has been marked. ✓ Tough, but funIt's not an impossible set of tests, and it is rewarding when you do answer them. There will be quite a few 'ah ha' moments as you discover the patterns. The training feature does grease the wheels a little bit before you jump into the full tests. It is worth completing a few of those before beginning. ✓ AccurateHaving sat the certified Mensa IQ Test, (amongst others), I found this App accurate, scoring me within 2 points of said certified test. I would recommend this as a warm-up for anyone considering sitting the Mensa. It's easy to pick those who scored low in the test as they're the ones lashing out with poor ratings. Sorry guys but knee jerk reactions to nurse that bruised ego isn't going to raise that IQ. Try sitting the test regularly instead. LOL..Version: 1.1.0

I then did it first thing in the morning when my mind was fresh and got 139 which is close to where I have scored on other tests. To all those looking for explanations- a large part of the IQ measurement is based on how you work out what the puzzles mean. The app could tell you where you went wrong and how you should have worked each question out, but then you wouldn't be able to use it again and get a correct score. Would have 5*s but some of the questions have started repeating themselves after 10 or so attempts at the long quiz. Otherwise great app! Also @ Albert Barron. You say that app gave you an IQ of 98, whereas you actually have an IQ of 156... Do you realise that Einstein had an IQ of 160? ✓ Tougher than other IQ TestsIt's coop to be able to say I got 151 in a Mensa rest, haha. The only issue here is that I have encountered many of the same questions repeatedly. And that of course lends to the reason why you can't see your answers after a test...because if you did, chances are they will repeat almost immediately and you'll know the answer. It's meant to be a fun logic puzzle game, which allows you to practice verbal, spatial, and quantitative reasoning in a way that does not give anyone an unfair advantage when actually taking an official IQ test, such as the Mensa entrance test. This is why they call it "brain test," rather than "IQ test." Just have fun trying to figure everything out, and see how high up on the score board you can get. Try to find new efficient methods to solve problems that you already know the answers to if you figure everything out (btw, it is incredibly time consuming to figure out every answer, so that is a challenge, in and of itself.) Just have fun, and always take an imperfect score as a positive experience, as it allows you to discover new ways to improve your logical reasoning..Version: 1.3.0

The questions are random and, although you can repeat the test over, you won't always get the same ones. They have a warehouse full. Your score can go up or down each time you take it. Alternatively, perhaps the developers could update the questions to keep it fresh and challenging. As with most other reviewers I too feel that I'd like to know which questions I got wrong, I wouldn't like the correct answer though. Finally, it would be nice if the bell curve indicating where your score lies is updated. Having done the home test and gotten my mark, I found that this did not correlate to the mark or percentile stated in the app or on the Mensa website. The unexplained inconsistencies make it difficult to truly gauge whether it might be worth taking the supervised test. ✓ Good reference point...Having joined Mensa, there was still no number value assigned... pretty much because few people in the organization care. However, I had specific reasons for wanting to know. This app in particular provided numbers I could trust. I can verify that the questions are typical of ones you might find on the official entry exams. Of course, any one test is not a perfect measure. Be sure to try the short, medium AND long versions of the test. My feeling is that 3 attempts at each one, taken over a period of a couple of months, then averaging all the results, will give you the best idea. And hey... if you score 130 or higher on this, take the official test and maybe we'll see you at an event! :) The one thing the app doesn't do that the official testing does, is allow for people who's first language isn't English. I hurt my ankle and held down the couch for weeks, and this was my favourite app for killing time in a stimulating way. In the short training exercises, the answers are supplied, which has been helpful in preparing for the main tests. It is unfortunate you cannot access answers for the main tests also.
