The Telegraph: UK & World News for Positive User Reviews

Still too many basic usability issuesThe core content and writing is excellent as ever but the app still has issues with usability. When you read an article, you should expect to return automatically to that page when you return to the app. Instead, it times out and returns to the homepage within minutes. Given the high turnover of news, the article has often disappeared from the homepage by that point, but it is not guaranteed to be visible under the relevant section, if you can remember which section the article appeared under. The page jumps constantly whilst reading comments if comments are still being added. Too often, an article does not allow for comments if there is a risk that the views of Telegraph readers might prove too salty, but whose sensibilities are being catered for? The app seems to have been designed for a phone screen, as there are large areas of white space on the homepage for the iPad app..Version: 5.2.8

Telegraph Interface updateSlick interface that works intuitively. Well designed, simple to navigate and with easily accessible extra content. A joy to use and read..Version: 5.2.8

Daily TelegraphAn excellent daily coverage of international and domestic events and analysis. Top Flight journalism, Downside, spending too much time reading! banjo..Version: 2.5.3

Daily TelegraphThe daily telegraph is an excellent resource for those in the United States seeking an unbiased outside view of world events. Thank you so much for being here today it provides up to the minute detail news that you don’t get inside the United States..Version: 5.1.3

Respectful Yank Grateful for Balanced NewsI had the honor of being in East Anglia for three years serving in the USAF as a medic at RAF Lakenheath. I loved my time in England and respect the British people immensely. Keeping informed about the news of the world allows me to obtain a more balanced perspective. Thank you for your unbiased international news and all of the great articles about life in general..Version: 5.1.8

Extensive coverageThe Telegraph covers a wide range of topics in sufficient depth to provide a comprehensive review that is broader than other news outlets. I feel well informed about most matters and geographies..Version: 5.3.1.52

Rating 3/20New app is awful Get rid of it!.Version: 4.0.5

Greetings from down underI’m really enjoying the crisp and reasoned approach of the Telegraph - a breath of fresh air compared to what is available down here in NZ, except for our brave non main stream voices. Keep it up, folks. We need you. Janet D.Version: 5.2.8

I can’t search for an articleThere is no Royal section, which is the whole reason I have this app. I can’t search to find the articles I’m looking for either. It’s very take it or leave it app. So I am leaving it..Version: 5.1.8

Quality News Updates EffortlesslyFor a couple of years I have subscribed to the Telegraph, by direct debit, receiving a quarterly supply of vouchers to exchange for the broadsheet. This is at a substantial discount. I give the vouchers to the newsagent each week and the paper is pushed through the letterbox by 07:00 each morning. Excellent. The subscription cost includes the daily delivery of the digital edition of the newspaper. This is easy to read on a tablet or a smartphone. One advantage is my wife can read the digital edition on her tablet while I read the broadsheet, and we can do this while in different places, so neither of us ever miss never anything published by the Telegraph. Other reviewers report difficulty in the automatic download if the digital edition. I have a similar difficulty but this is a tiny issue as the download can be done with a simple click, on waking, and takes a few seconds. Overall I find the subscription service, and the digital edition, exceptional..Version: 5.2.0

The telegraphAt the moment the news as presented by you is good, clear and factual, but an overwhelming amount is taken up by controversy regarding the rights and wrongs of the way in which the Covid pandemic is being treated by the government. This is just accentuating the hiatus it has caused to the country, if not to the world, and is fast ceasing to be News in the accepted sense of the word. Much of the detail escapes one, as it is impossible to absorb all the information on offer, and maintain one’s own home, family, business matters at the same time. This morning for example you note 212 items of separate ‘news’ items. Therefore much is not merely objective but opinion of reporting staff, rather than FACT. This could do with being addressed. Cartoons, Michael Deacon’s individual take on things remains a constant, and so often provides a balance to the actions of many folk which we could easily dispense with. It is essential to maintain a sense of humour in the world situation..Version: 5.0.1

Better app than mostJust a few missing functionalities keeping the last star away. Most notably, there's a font size slider that doesn't change the size of the text (or do anything else), which is a big deal for viewing on small screens. Comments are especially well integrated..Version: 5.2.8

UK Telegraph is valuedAs a daily reader from NSW, I think highly of The Telegraph. Quality journalist without woke viewpoints. Keep up the splendid work, chaps!.Version: 5.0.6

Missing pieces from the applicationEfforts have been made to improve cross referencing, but it is still not good. Other improvements; 1. Page swiping could be more reliable. There is a need to do nothing for a few seconds to allow the swipe to reset. 2. It would be nice to have an index to show which pages one has already read. 3. A back button would be nice particularly after using a link. 4. Review formating text when a larger font is selected. The lists of items on the left always exceeds the space available and does not scroll. 5. A search function should be implemented. There is nothing more annoying than knowing that you have read an article, want to show it to your partner and not being able to find it again. 6. Sometimes a page has a missing section. In order to reload it is necessary to go to another page and back then usually the whole page can be read - still occurs after reinstall (see 8 below). 7. The app takes too much power. To read the whole paper would consume more than the whole battery. 8. The app is not immune from locking up and causing the iPad to have to be restarted - this has gone away since a complete wipe clean of my iPad and reinstall everything from scratch. The problem still exists. On slower iPads it is necessary to wait up to 30 secs before scrolling a complex page..Version: 3.3.9

Easy readingThe new app is much easier to maneuver and scan for interesting articles. The layout allows for easier reading. I like the new layout. The content is obviously the same..Version: 5.0.3

Daily Telegraph app has THE outstanding interfaceThe article lists grouped by sections are terrific and the subscription price is reasonable. Unfortunately, it bombs far too often, and book reviews are not included. Why not? Also, they should, as should all other newspaper or magazine subscriptions, state the price right at the head of the App Store info..Version: 2.2.1

Quality journalismBalanced with context and perspective, the Telegraph presents a daily depth of both facts and commentary. I also appreciate the Royal coverage..Version: 5.1.1

Needs swipe-to-go-back gestureGenerally a good app, with elegant typography. However, the one thing missing is that when looking at an article, you can’t swipe from the left edge of the phone screen to go back to the article list view. This is a standard iOS gesture, so it’s really frustrating when it simply doesn’t work here!.Version: 5.0.9

ReviewSince the brexit I lost a bit of interest, European affairs are colourful compared with the constant harping about how Great Britain will become, the paper is more becoming a local than an international one. E.M.Heard..Version: 4.0.9

The telegraphHas excellent presentation ,easy to read and fabulous crossword function with presentation of yesterday's result. The only thing that irritates me is that I am unable to forward good articles to friends. Why am I a second class subscriber when I pay to have the app?.Version: 2.5.3

Works fineA lot of reviews here mention it crashing but I’ve had no problems since subscribing a week ago - seems to work just fine..Version: 3.3.9

Great app but can't use in flight modeGreat app generally, only drawbacks are that it is a little buggy and also when here is no Internet connection it seems to constantly crash- which isn't great when your on a plane!.Version: 2.5.3

Easy to readWe got the Telegraph for my 92 year old mother. First tablet, first app. It took a few days but then she loved it. Reads ALL the paper. I like the design and the layout. Navigating is easy. And we have the puzzles..Version: 3.1.14

The app is very good.Yes it is..Version: 5.3.1.52

Good app, but could be better.Recently switched to the Telegraph app after subscribing to another national newspaper because the Telegraph’s content is better. However, their app isn’t as good as the former one. The former one gave every full page of the entire day’s print edition of the newspaper on which you could then click onto each article to read it. It’s a much better system as it’s like reading the physical edition and you can see at a glance what you want to read. On the Telegraph’s app it’s very easy to miss an article you might want to read because it’s buried away in the paper’s ‘selection’ that is illustrated. I’ll keep persevering but I don’t know for how long....Version: 5.1.1

Just retiredMy wife was a teacher I think she was full on committed and changed people’s lives. I was Bringing in work for Construction Builders & Developers C £100m per year leaving home at 5am and too often falling asleep at 1am at the end of the line having worked continuously. You go from full gas to meaning nothing but with an informed view explosive stuff. That’s why my wife and I really enjoy the Telegraph we have a lovely old time debating the articles between the two of us. Silly really we are not now going to change the Country. It does keep us informed and in touch with excellent beautifully written articles we are addicted Neil & Tina.Version: 5.2.6

Conversion from the TimesI was with The Times for several years, they changed their App, which simply crashed and refused to work, The Telegraph works 100% so deserves to pick up all ex Times customers. I just hope the Telegraph does not decide to change !.Version: 2.5.3

Good news appDoesn't indicate if a story is updated or corrected. Doesn't permit you to email stories to friends..Version: 3.1.6

NOT THE OLDEST USERAt 75 years old I am undoubtedly not the oldest user of the Telegraph App and there must also be the confession it is also the first time I have employed an iPad. As a consequence of those factors the transition from “hard copy” to the digital format was not without frustrations. However in a short space of time the App has transformed my enjoyment of reading the publication. Gone is the pile of previous editions and their ultimate. consignment to the recycling sack. No longer are the arms of my favourite chair contaminated by printers ink transferred from newspaper to fabric. Turning on the iPad and activating the Telegraph app is not only easy, it has transformed reading the latest news from page turning to a simple finger - swipe. Making a decision to embark on vacations no longer requires trying to find a facility which will accept Telegraph tokens, or asking a neighbour to clear the letterbox of numerous copies of the newspaper. All that is needed now is to remember the iPad and my enjoyment of using the Telegraph app can continue without any inconvenience, drama, or reliance on any human interaction by third parties. Very happy!.Version: 5.1.6

ReviewBring back the old app - our signal is not that good but it did work! Takes ages to get the crossword to load and after a few clues crashes out and will not reload - just left with a blank page with no instructions as as to what is happening - very frustrating. Why does the app keep taking you back to the previous section when you want to move on to a new part of the paper? Very very close to cancelling! Got my new air pad now and the whole paper is instantly downloaded. Love your latest news bulletins and your reporting generally Keep up the good work!.Version: 5.1.1

Telegraph UKThe newspaper style lay out is brilliant and allows us to read all our favorite sections. The app could benefit from a favorite article button so we could keep certain articles for later perusal..Version: 3.3.11

Giving problems since iPadOs 13When using the puzzle pages, since the arrival of iPadOS I have found that although at first all is ok but quickly there is a distinct lag between pressing the keypad and seeing the screen refresh. I hope the developers will soon address this matter. Have to open a different puzzle and return to the one I was on. Seems to clear the problem for a short while. Problem is particularly noticeable on the crosswords. As you move around the crossword the clues scroll to display the current clue. Once the lag has set in the I find myself unable to do anything until the scrolling has settled down. I had hoped that with updates this issue would have been addressed. I would imagine that it is a memory management problem. Additionally the app uses up battery at an alarming rate, typically simply doing the sudoku will take battery from 100% tp less than 50%..Version: 4.0.4

Mrs. Maxine de RozarioI greatly appreciate being able to read Chris Evan’s editorials on various topics. He is insightful and succinct. Well done. Maxine de Rozario.Version: 5.0.4

Excellent writing & well expressed viewpointsExcellent writing and well expressed viewpoints stand out for me, but their high standards are evident throughout. It is quite entertaining as well. I highly recommend this..Version: 5.3.1.52

Puzzles! Updated today, 16th March.Earlier message :- (Finding it VERY frustrating trying to do the puzzles. It seems to want to do its own thing! Very slow at responding; often scrolls on its own; if I exit the app and then return, the puzzle is often either set up in one corner, with only a quarter of it showing, or is miniaturized! Not impressed at all. Plus there is no option any more to engage night vision, which is my preference to view the paper.) Despite your assurance today (16th Mar) that all is now well, it is not! I deleted and reinstalled the app, and nothing has changed! The puzzles completely seize up if I try to access the help menu..Version: 4.0.2

Nice appNice app.Version: 2.5.1

Brilliant app, but it crashes constantlyPlease oh please submit an update to fix the issues soon. Deleting and reinstalling fixes the constant freezes, but not for good..Version: v.1.2.2

Worth havingLive in Canada so the paper keeps us well up to date with what is is happening in Britain. Our other subscription is the Times. The similarities in reporting the news in both papers, leads me to think that your reporters are moonlighting..Version: 3.3.9

Very expensiveThe Journalism is good and well written. A sense of humour prevails. I trust the reports that emanate from the “Torygraph”. Good coverage of events in the UK and around the world. Very little Canadian coverage but that’s perhaps becos nothing much happens here. But it’s costly, and they give nothing away to “regulars” like me, who have been loyal customers for years..Version: 5.0.9

Digital Telegraph commentsI have recently switched to the digital Telegraph, having had the voucher system on the paper for most of the time it has been running. I am enjoying this version, because I can easily select the articles I want to read and skip around just as easily as with the paper, in fact in some ways it is easier. I don’t have masses of paper in which I have little interest, particularly on Saturday with all the separate papers and magazine - I always felt it was a waste of paper for me. I like doing the crossword, because I don’t need an eraser to make corrections, and it tells me immediately I finish, whether I have the right answers. I am really happy with it..Version: 4.0.8

TelegraphBrilliant App. Straight to the headlines every day. In depth stories are spot on.Version: 5.0.6

Long time readerI had been a long time reader when I lived in the UK and always enjoyed the contents of the Telegraph. Now resident in the US I really appreciate the access to the online version of the Daily Telegraph and await my review of the news each day. Thank you David.Version: 5.1.6

Nearly there................With the latest App, I now realise that it has, without me noticing, taken me over the threshold to become the dominant method of reading The Telegraph. The ease of navigation combined with the quality of design and text display, make it a pleasure to read and use. My only gripe is that when I first come to a new edition, it hasn't automatically downloaded as per the setting - not a problem with a good wi-if connection, but a pain otherwise. So nearly there ................ UPDATE AUGUST 2017 rather concerned the App allows one persistent Chinese company to apparently advertise all the time when I open the App following one visit to its main website UPDATE 2021 latest version of App with Editions and latest news is great, providing in depth reporting and comment alongside the very latest news.Version: 5.0.4

Telegraph reviewWhen your feeling grateful there is no reason to complain. The service of this app is excellent..Version: 2.3.2

Big Picture OverviewThere is power in the written word. There is eloquence in the written word, For words need to be thought about , in the pursuit of their craft , to inform ,to enlighten , and at times simply to provide an opinion of a particular perspective, it is an artistic beauty they do achieve, which I feel in my heart and my soul. The Telegraph provides this written artistic beauty in its craft, and whilst we can all agree that not all the news, and all the words that are written are not about beautiful things, in the world, the way they are presented, the language that is utilized, sends a message into our minds that mere images cannot achieve on a singular basis. The Telegraph stories combined with photographs combines to deliver a truly stellar global news source. I live in Canada and in order to better perceive and understand the peoples of our world and the global events that impact all of us on a daily basis, I choose to include the Telegraph in my select publications for information. Coupled with a New York Times the Telegraph, and a variety of Canadian local news sources , my belief is that I have achieved a more balanced and complete perspective of the world we all live in. I recommend it to one and all..Version: 5.0.6

Best paper in the world!I live away from Britain so The telegraph is my “go to” for all news from home and for the excellent reporting of world events. Diana Henry helps me with dinner too!.Version: 5.0.4

Balanced and FairI appreciate having the Telegraph app at my fingertips. Along with the Telegraph morning and evening podcast briefs, this app gives me a comprehensive and balanced view of current affairs and culture. Well worth the subscription. I wouldn’t be without it..Version: 5.1.3

It works, but…….Have used the Telegraph app for about 10 years. It has been useful and generally enjoyable to use, but throughout all this time it has never worked properly, particularly with the puzzles. Until recently these hugely drained my iPad's battery, to the extent that it had to be re-charged at least twice a day, but the puzzles still freeze. This means that you either have to go into another puzzle and back to kick start things again, or at worst you have to go back to a previous days edition of the paper and then back to the one you want to pick up where you left. All quite annoying and something you think would have been fixed years ago..Version: 5.0.6

ExcellentQuite a god app, combines the benefit of reading one of the best newspapers in the world with a reasonable amount of dynamic content. Unlike some other newspaper apps this one is not over the top trying to be more of a video game than a newspaper. The only thing missing is some way to tap in to their more updated coverage (post printing of the paper) as one can on their website or using their iPhone app. That would make this even better but even as it is it's exceptionally enjoyable and useful. Highly recommended!.Version: 2.2.1

Subscription ConfusionI am on a trial sub that will soon move to charging at what, on reflection, seems an astronomical rate especially when compared to other UK newspapers. I would like to review the options open to me WITH A HUMAN please. Regards and thanks for an excellent newspaper..Version: 5.1.1

ReviewEnjoying The Daily Telegraph abroad here in America while making plans to spend more time in England with visits and also with a new flat purchase bringing my lovely English wife closer to ‘home’ with me happy to follow! I love everything about The Daily Telegraph and am amazed at how much information and quality journalism can be published on a daily basis! Bravo to all involved! Neal Finelli.Version: 5.1.1

Please offer us a dark mode!I love the Telegraph however reading it with its white background at night is very painful for the eyes!! It is by no means the only app with thus issue however i just wish news app developpers would naturally offer dark mode by default!.Version: 5.1.8

A happy Finnish reader! Two of possibly the best things have happened to me during the pandemic. The lockdown in England made me first buy an iPad and second subscribe to the digital edition of the Daily Telegraph. As a Finn resident and married here to an Englishman for over 50 years, I have over the years graduated from reading the Morning Star (sic) to the Guardian and then to the Times and wisely after growing up to the Daily Telegraph and the indomitable Spectator, I battled long and hard to read the broadsheet version of the paper, especially after my journalist husband has molested it, often even cutting out articles before I managed to get my hands on the copy. Thus the digital edition was a must to get all out of my favourite paper. I read almost cover to cover daily and try my hand at the crossword, but my favourite is the codeword puzzle, which I crack in seconds. Thank you for a cracking, fair newspaper! Leena Maakanen-Jones.Version: 5.0.3

Telegraph weeklyAlthough I pay for the Telegraph Weekly, I have never been able to actually see it. Now if I could just find a way to stop paying for it..Version: 5.0.9

I rely on The Telegraph & especially on Ukraine The LatestI am renewing my subscriptions because I appreciate good, insightful, ethical journalism. I found The Telegraph through the Ukraine: The Latest podcast, and listen everyday. I am especially glad that you continue providing that podcast through all the ups and downs of the war on Ukraine..Version: 5.3.0.2

Digital TelegraphVery good. I like the format. Easy to navigate for a 72 year old. I paid £1, yes £1, for a 3 months initial subscription! An offer I couldn’t refuse. I have read the Telegraph for over 50 years, but this digital issue is the best compromise for a number of reasons - firstly, it arrives during the night and is available to read immediately. Not sure when it arrives as it’s there at 5am, 4am and even 3am! Secondly, it is lightweight, only as heavy as your device, I use an iPad. Thirdly, no waste paper. That leaves the only issue - price!! If it was a guaranteed price of say £5.99 a month for 3 to 5 years, I’d join tomorrow. Maybe even £7.99. But at£12 or more, it’s simply too much for a poor pensioner who is a veteran with 25 years Army service (maybe the Telegraph should have a veterans price? Surely the cost of producing and distributing a digital copy has to be substantially lower than a printed copy. Sadly, I’ll probably cancel after my offer term ends and revert to GB News for my daily information..Version: 5.0.4

Good app but needs to continue to improveI love the night reading mode and the app is good, but given the competition not as brilliant as others. The Financial Times app is more interactive for example. It is well worth subscribing but the app designers need to innovate and make the editions update quicker during the news cycle and have specialist features and sections that are more alive. More like the Flipboard feeds! Still I wouldn't be without it but the competition is catching up!.Version: 2.2.1

I love DTI enjoy the Daily Telegraph because it keeps me updated on sports, culture and politics in the United Kingdom. The traditional values are an enormous plus to me. The Daily Telegraph is in step with my view which is; not all change is progress and smart is not the same thing as wisdom. I look forward to seeing the DT writing on how Britain’s can begin developing its national manufacturing base and preparing young adults to serve our nation together in light of the return to a near war situation with an imperial and ruthless Russia..Version: 5.2.0

Frustrated...Love the paper but experiencing difficulty with the app...problems with recognising my registration. Working with iTunes to rectify..Version: 2.3.2

Day & date out of syncMonday’s paper is showing the date as Sunday, 5 April. Has been doing this since the update.....Version: 4.0.3

GeneralEnjoy the daily reads and when COVID is over will enjoy the Saturday/Sunday hard copies. Living in Scotland the Scottish edition often has things on the front page I don’t see on the app so a Scottish section covering these articles. Also the crossword always seems to freeze and we have to go back to editions then back to the crossword to unfreeze it. Still on the crossword. It would be helpful if there was a stop bar at the end of the words, helps with formulation and rhythm. Also an identified space to key in a word would be useful. I have mentioned this before but it has always been ignored. Can you help or say why that wouldn’t work. You often see this on other crosswords. Thank you, Bob Fowler..Version: 4.0.7

Searching for things not to likeAs a reluctant and homesick ex-Pat I look forward to reading my online Telegraph every night. There are perhaps 2 things I would change. 1) I would have you publish many more of the extremely erudite and well informed letters to the Editor that I send your way. 2) more news and less opinion. How about choosing a different region of the British Isles to focus on each week and bring stories that aren’t so London -centric.? I would feel better informed if articles from Wales, the SW. the N.East and so on we’re featured not as commentary or opinion but just the facts. Thank you.Version: 5.0.6

Relieved and happyI mourned the ending of the weekly telegraph but the iPad app makes up for it. I like the fact you can scroll through pages like an actual paper, and that now I can read the entire Sunday telegraph. Jan, Australia.Version: 3.1.11

Greatly improved performanceThe content has alway been excellent, however for several months there were frequent problems downloading and the archived editions used excessive storage capacity. The problems appear to now have been resolved and I would now highly recommend this app..Version: 2.7.4

Works well.I get this for the puzzles, but read the news every night. No technical issues at all and it’s great to get a British point of view of the US news. Would not change anything, but would like to see the price come down a bit..Version: 3.3.11

Mr John WalkerWe have now opted to read just the digital Telegraph rather than the hard copy paper which we had subscribed to for more than 15 years. This was because the subscription was becoming near to one thousand pounds annually. The digital version was for travelll Img and holidays and occasions. We are both now getting used to the digital version on our iPhone and iPad. I’ve yet to try out my much heavier laptop for convenience and screen size. The change is still debatable whether the decision was worth the saving. One definite adavantage is I can read in bed as now! My wife seems to enjoy more the crossword puzzles and even submits her completions! I don’t do the ‘Siduku variety as much as before. The content is quite easy to navigate. Returning to specific articles..Version: 5.2.0

Pros and ConsI like the Telegraph app but I dont like the fact that I have to go through a couple of steps to change the font size, and then the same again when I want to change it back to how it was. It used to be much quicker and easier to do that..Version: 4.0.5

AnthonyThis is an excellent app. The quality and reliability makes reading the world’s best news service a pleasure..Version: 3.3.11

The best news app I have usedThe Telegraph app just gets it right. Gives you the most provocative news, upfront, and in a format, which is logical and almost transparent..Version: 5.2.0

Functions wellTelegraph black icon app for Subscribers is doing a good job of presenting the front page and extracting the articles in digital format. The simple navigation is fairly fool proof and enables the reader to browse through every article. I find I can speed read through several articles in quick succession. so that means the response on a basic Internet service is good. The only thing that takes time is to load the daily edition, which is fine and part of the routine..Version: 5.0.3

Lifeline during eye problemsI signed up to the “e -Telegraph” when I was waiting for eye operation and found the font of printed newspapers too small to be legible. I had intended this to be short term and to return to a print subscription post op recovery. I am now hooked on the App and won’t return to print. I can enlarge the font as required, I don’t have piles of paper to recycle and the house is much tidier. The only thing missing is the tv listing each day but the positives outweigh this. I often share an article with my daughters, particularly if it relates to education and this is so much easier than cutting out an article and remembering to give it to them. Thank you for being a lifesaver when eye sight problems meant reading was almost impossible..Version: 4.0.5

Good stuffMostly the app works well. Shame that much of the content on Sundays is never included but otherwise a reliably good read. The right wing content and "angry of Tonbridge Wells" articles are certainly entertaining.Version: 2.3.2

Telegraph ReviewThe app is great. I can sign in using Face ID. It’s instant and hassle free. Shout out to Camilla Tominey and Hannah Furness. My favourite journalists..Version: 5.1.6

Excellent readingThanks for excellent service I live in NZ and we need some in depth understanding of our times we are in. The Telegraph supports this Chris.Version: 5.1.8

Fresh voiceAs an American I appreciate the perspective on world news presented by the Telegraph. It is straightforward and edgy without seeming overly tendentious. It is a refreshing foil to our own cable news networks..Version: 5.0.9

Great designed interfaceGreat designed interface, simple, clear, high quality pictures and comfortable to read..Version: 5.1.8

VERY PLEASED with Telegraph AppReads like the actual broadsheet so it feels like I have the paper in hand on my Ipad, quick downloads, smooth page turning and the app forwards the eye catching articles easily. Best of both worlds...a truly authentic e-paper experience....Version: 5.0.3

Poor serviceI have subscribed for many years via Apple iTunes. It it not possible to access the new app by simply clicking on the ‘restore subscription’. The Telegraph say that it is Apple's problem and Apple say that the problem lies with those that designed the app for The Telegraph. I’m in the middle and having read many of the poor reviews, I think I will simply stick with the old app for as long as it is available. The Telegraph’s latest communication suggested that I delete my current app and install the new one with a new subscription. Excellent idea, but at a cost of twelve times what I am paying now. That explains it all..Version: 5.0.4

Problem saving articlesI am no longer able to save articles. Have written to customer service, but no reply. Given the cost of the digital subscription, I find this more than annoying. I’m a subscriber in New York..Version: 5.2.8

Less than ideal.Although you appear to be able to “download” the paper to read offline, it has a habit of deleting downloads randomly. A download performed at home will quite likely not be available during a morning commute. Infuriatingly, hours of work on a crossword can suddenly vanish. Last week I did previous Saturday’s crossword from scratch - Four times. I completed half of today’s crossword after work. When I reopened it after returning home... the box beneath the icon said “download” instead of “read” and sure enough, after downloading it, my answers had vanished. This is not an “issue” to be “addressed “. It is a major problem which needs to be solved. Quickly, please..Version: 3.3.11

Great but where is the general knowledge crossword?Overall the app is fantastic. Wherever I travel, the paper is with me and displayed in very readable and navigable format. We love the puzzle section but it never has the Saturday general knowledge. What’s up with that? How can app users paying a significant monthly fee get it? Help please?.Version: 3.3.11

Telegraph NewspaperExcellent format. The only one of the newspaper apps that I actually enjoy using. Intuitive and helpful, easy to use and easy to archive or send interesting articles to others. A pleasure to read..Version: 5.0.8

An Excellent ReadBoth my wife and I read the digital edition of the Daily Telegraph between waking and breakfast. I will devour News and Comment sections, she the Features and one of the puzzles. On retiring in the evening we both do at least one puzzle. It’s a splendid read, with (usually) balanced and informative pieces by the country’s foremost journalists. The latest reformatting of the digital version is very good. Well laid out, pleasant font, easy to navigate. One small irritation remains. Saturday’s Pub Quiz - something we enjoyed immensely in the physical version of the paper (many years ago now) is not included in the digital version. Although Sunday’s two quizzes are good (and included in digital) we always preferred Saturday’s, and would be thrilled we’re it ever to be carried over to the excellent digital version..Version: 4.0.5

Current favourite source of news! After becoming very disillusioned with the media and news in general we gave The Telegraph a fair free trial. We are now very satisfied monthly subscribers and we will continue to do so as long as they continue with their current high and intelligent standard of journalism..Version: 5.1.3

Excellent newspaperDT provides great news coverage. Their Ukraine podcast is top notch which how I ended up with a subscription. The content is current and well thought out. They have some outstanding journalists and bring in a variety of great guests. The online paper is well designed, has great content and all this from a guy living in Buffalo, NY in USA. Btw, I'm a 30 yr ex pat from Belfast!.Version: 5.2.8

Fair & BalancedYes, we hear that all the time. However I see articles with all types of views. That is getting hard to find with the mergers of the news media..Version: 5.1.4

Great news sourceTelegraph is my first choice in obtaining news, even though I live in USA. A wide variety of country specific “local” news, plus excellent international news coverage and editorials. Add the excellent recipes and other coverage makes the Telegraph excellent value. Only reason, not rated five stars; a print copy image duplication is not offered. Seeing it in print edition would make it much easier to navigate..Version: 4.0.7

Good newsI really enjoy reading the Telegraph every day on my phone — even though I live in the US. They recently improved the look of the app, and it is even more enjoyable. And, considering the fine content, the price is certainly reasonable..Version: 5.0.3

One of the best newspaper apps I’ve usedThe Telegraph app is so easy to use. It’s a doddle to find articles quickly, see previous editions and now that they have combined it with live news articles as they come in it is practically perfect. Compared with apps from other news publications it is a pleasure to read articles here. There are no rolling ads interrupting articles, no painfully slow-loading pictures holding up pages or, in the worst cases whole pages from the actual newspaper reproduced which are almost as hard to read as microfiche. Instead you get individual articles with print you can enlarge if your eyesight requires it and easy navigation. The app was good before but is a whole lot better now. I’m almost tempted to give up my hard copy..Version: 5.0.3

Where is the March 31st edition?I don’t like the new format, it’s harder to navigate..Version: 4.0.3

Easy way to get the Telegraph on your phone or tablet. The app is a good way to read the Telegraph on your phone or tablet, it can have a few glitches though. The best part of reading the Telegraph on line is looking at the public comments after the articles and contributing your own. I have found though that occasionally the comments can’t be accessed via the app but are ok on the web page version. It’s happened a few times and I haven’t figured out why. The glitch is not down to one device I use, but will repeat on anything I use with the app. It then clears after several days. So I’ve given the app a 4 star rating, because it’s not perfect..Version: 5.1.8

The Telegraph - an international newspaperThe best formatting I have yet seen on a "net" newspaper, a joy to manage and read - could the international content be expanded?.Version: 2.3.2

Most authentic newsI pay $30 a month to read the most reliable news left. The Telegraph tells the truth straight up without opinion. I check the news on here throughout my day..Version: 5.1.3

Great appLiving away from the UK The Telegraph keeps me informed about the mother country..Version: 3.3.11

Good daily readI am a digital version subscriber. I love having the iPad every morning and devour every article with my breakfast! 90% of the writers express views that are evidenced based and have solid and unbiased opinions. Sometimes you even invite left or right wings views, which offers a good balance. All in all I am Happy with the quality of DT. However, what concerns me lately is the inclusion of Paul Nuki, who apparently represents an obscure group called Global Health Security, which seems to follow the lockdown and fear mongering mob’s views. One reader highlighted the connection between this group and Bill Gates and that the DT is funded by Mr Gates. Has DT sold its soul for big pharma money? This is the only part / direction I am worried about..Version: 5.1.3

Telegraph news appThe information on the telegraph news each day is wonderful….informative, varied topics, some reporters are strong in their opinions but that’s their opinion I guess….I usually avoid them..Version: 5.3.1.52

Dr J. CollisI am constantly amazed at the standard of journalism found in your newspaper. I am particularly impressed by the writing in the sports section. There see m to be less glitches in downloading lately All best Vancouver Canada.Version: 2.4

Great way to stay informedAs a former resident of the UK, I want to stay informed about what is happening in my former home. The Telegraph app meets my needs wonderfully. This Telegraph also helps me gain access to a perspective that I don’t get frequently enough from US sources..Version: 5.1.2

MrI live in Australia and find that Telegraph on line, provides me with a European perspective that is not available through local papers. I’ve read the Telegraph every time I visit the UK. Many times. I enjoy the in depths reporting and think, only think, as I don’t really know, that I get an objective point of view. The British internal politics are something I’m not fully informed upon but, from a European perspective I feel informed. The current Ukraine crisis is an example. Keep up the good work. Bob May.Version: 5.1.3

Saves me from the incompetence of Canadian mediaGreat app. Easy to use, doesn’t crash. Incorporates video and audio well and smoothly. But most important of all its content saves me from the lazy and incompetent reporting we have to otherwise suffer here in Canada..Version: 5.0.7

Balanced news, with very informed (and informative) feature articlesFor the foregoing benefits, along with many others, I have come to look forward to my mornings spent immersed in this fine periodical..Version: 5.1.8

Back button where are you? They layout of this app is great. It reads like the newspaper. Congrats! The problem is that when you are done reading an article and want to go back to the front page there usually isn’t a “Back” button anywhere to be seen! Very annoying!.Version: 5.0.4

Heather HerbertThe Telegraph -This is a wonderful way to keep up to date with the real world from the Antipodes. Beautifully written articles, interesting columnists and GREAT interactive puzzles. Thank you very much for the innovation..Version: 2.2.1

News from the other side of the pondAs someone once equipped, “Go abroad to hear news of home.” I always enjoy hearing the Telegraph’s take on world events but particularly ones in my own country. Excellent journalism, wide variety of views, interesting pieces..Version: 5.0.6

Working pretty well for meI have not experienced the iPad issues reported by other users, and do enjoy reading the next day’s news before bed like other expats have mentioned. I like keeping in touch with what is happening back at home, culturally as well as news. Only thing that stopped working a few updates ago was the ability when doing the crossword puzzle to type out a whole word. Now I have to touch each square before entering the letter, which then will repeat the last letter typed before accepting a new one. Mildly annoying as it slows one down, but not the worst thing as it does still function albeit painstakingly..Version: 3.3.9

Regular user and pretty contentBeen using this app in all it's versions for 18 months now, yes there have been a few glitches and crashes on the way but nothing that a delete and reinstall or even a quick email to support that hasn't fixed. Would like the ability to email articles straight from the app rather than a 'link' and would like to pass onto others some of the great gallery photographs ( yes I know copyright etc etc but just asking!).Version: 2.5.1

RatingYou have the best app and your Ukraine pods ast is world class. From sydney.Version: 5.1.8

The App is fine... but I'm getting fed up being asked to review when I have already done one!.Version: 3.2.1

One of the more reliable sources of news and analysis.I start my day by reading the Telegraph on an iPad, and doing as many of the crosswords and other puzzles as I can in the time available. It is easy to read and navigate on an iPad, with a clean layout. The Telegraph is traditionalist and to the political right, so it will not appeal to everyone. It does provide alternate views from different correspondents. I generally find its reporting reliable, and analysis interesting. It does not hold back from criticising a Conservative government if it disagrees with policies or actions. Sports coverage is good, but like all papers wastes far too many column inches on the round ball game. The “lifestyle”, culture and travel sections provide good information and ideas, but also too many links to hideously expensive items outside the budget of mere mortals. I like saving some articles to Evernote for action or future reference. That used to be simple with two clicks on the “share” button. Since the revised design, this has not worked. I can still save, but it has become a tedious, multi-step process. I have considered giving up my subscription until that feature is repaired..Version: 4.0.5

Great to catch upHowever news is a tad old and the quality of writing not as it once was. The writing is still better than most. However I could do better myself so contact me as content, spelling, grammar is not UK TELEGRAPH standard..Version: 3.3.9

When it’s good, it’s very, very etc.Trouble is, it develops quirks - just had one where, when doing the puzzles, switching pages caused, as found on switching back, completed answers to disappear - only fixed by deleting the app and reinstalling; also, losing login details and demanding a fresh login to continue. While I know that advertising pays most of the costs of the paper/app, in the paper version, the same advert isn’t repeated, page after page. It is in the app! If the developers think that increases the chance of the adverts being effective, it seems to me that the actual effect is the very opposite. It simply increases the annoyance factor! That has now changed! While the small, in page ads remain, after the first full download, when the show in full, the full page ads don't load and there's just a message saying that the ad is only available online! While I don't long for ads, that is ridiculous. If I'm not online, just how am I supposed to download the paper? Also, if I am not online after downloading it, I find that it isn't really readable much of the time, anyway. Pages refuse to scroll, freeze, until nearly finished reading with a connection. There is no search facility. In my household, this would be of immense value, when my wife, reading the paper version refers to an article it is usually difficult to find in the app, with its very different (by necessity) layout..Version: 3.3.10

Much better!I have to confess to having given this app a rather scathing 1-star review but now - I’m amending it to 4 stars. Instead of being frustrated by the appalling deterioration in the presentation of my favourite newspaper app (which had become virtually unusable) I am now able to appreciate its considerable improvements. Why the change of heart? It’s because my iPad was becoming increasingly unreliable and no longer supported with iOS software updates, so I splashed out and bought a new one. Without the change of device my poor review of the app would have stood and I’d have given up using the Telegraph app. Arguably, I should not have had to do that to enjoy the same level of service that I pay for with my print and digital subscription, but should I blame the Telegraph or Apple? The only thing that I wish had been retained from the old app is the facility to highlight a word or phrase and seek a definition or further information - upon occasion I found that to be very useful and my rating would then have been 5 stars..Version: 4.0.3

Great ApOne of the best newspapers online.Version: 2.3.2

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Articles I read are appealing. The Telegraph does an amazing job to cater for a wide readership..Version: 5.0.4

From the antipodesKeeps me up-to-date with what’s going on in the real world Our publications here are hopelessly Biased so it’s refreshing to get a broad spectrum of views.Version: 5.0.6

Great and great!I’m really enjoying the Telegraph news service. The app is fast, well laid out and allows me to cover a lot of stories quickly without problems. The content is just as good. I feel The Telegraph is a competent news service and does well reporting the news without bias, just giving the facts, and the right amount of “color” to the stories. I believe they are superior to other news services on this side of the pond!.Version: 5.3.1.52

ExcellentAnyone who calls this a deception simply failed to read the product description. It tells you up front what the costs will be so there is absolutely no deception here. It is an excellent source of up to the minute news and the price is fair. Anyone who says it should be free simply fails to recognize the fact that, in order to survive, quality media must charge something to cover the work it takes to put an issue together. It does not create itself..Version: 2.0

Great paperWorth the monthly subscription. I live abroad and it is great to be able to keep abreast of what is happening..Version: 5.1.3

Clean and very well laid out but no Dark ThemeI truly love the app (from a pure technical perspective not talking about the content) as it has a very clean and well laid out design. Most other news apps tent to have to many items and graphics that are in your way, when all you want to do is read the news. Congratulations to the developers for creating such a nice news app and for truly understanding what we as users needs The only problem I have is not having a dark theme option. People such as myself with light coloured eyes tend to have some sort of light sensitivity one way or another. So having the ability to switch to a dark theme and have less light come in our eyes is really important. I hope the developers implement this soon. If not I can always just read the articles in Apple News (I tend to do that most of the time anyway).Version: 5.2.8

Hi honHi hi home hope uhnnn on No.Version: 5.2.0

Much improved..still some scaling issues. They have clearly been working hard on the reliability. A good bandwidth is necessary for optimum performance. Non-loading advertisements can interrupt the smooth functioning of the app. Latest update introduced an odd scaling issue on the Sudoku and maybe other pages where the header has fallen slightly and the numbers are partially off the bottom of the screen. The sport coverage is excellent, the politics sometimes lack unbiased or deeper critical comment making reading some articles pointless as the news, at the level reported, has often moved on by the time you get to read it here. Perhaps adding more “context” around a story will improve the journalism and a give better longevity as this cannot be reproduced in the short duration of TV or Radio morning slots. For me a “must read” in the mornings and evenings despite my well meant comments..Version: 3.3.9

Overseas NewsLiving in Western Australia, I rely on the Daily Telegraph to find out what has happened elsewhere in the world.!!!.Version: 5.1.6

Much to appreciate with some deficienciesWe have tried each method available of reading the Telegraph over the years. We have settled quite happily for the time being on subscription to the digital addition plus puzzles. This works out cheaper then buying the paper even with the vouchers. The experience of the digital newspaper is easy to adjust to fairly swiftly and is distinct from flicking through physical pages with some benefits and losses by comparison. My dear wife tells me she prefers the sudoku and the crossword is fine digitally, but please include the general knowledge on a Saturday! We miss having plenty of newspapers to light fires and wrap broken glass, but taking the recycling out is a breeze now. We are about to have a fortnight in Umbria and hope that the digital edition will follow us there smoothly even if we switch to WTO terms while we are in an Osteria..Version: 3.3.11

So Much Value For Money!I have been a Telegraph reader for many years. You have to wonder what the people who used to produce the paper edition are doing now if no longer employed - and you have to sincerely hope they have survived in one way or another. Mine - and my family’s - only complaint about the paper copy was its sheer bulk, especially at weekends, you just couldn’t get through everything you wanted to read before someone else pinched that section of the paper! We have retired and downsized, and the digital version of the paper is just perfect for me today. Plenty more time to read as much as I want when I want, and time too to read sections I had to miss previously. I am reading articles that I would not have looked at before, and this means taking more of an interest in new subjects. And nobody can pinch that section of the paper! As a pensioner I will carry on as long as I can afford it (mustn’t let standards drop!) - so much value for money! Thank you Telegraph!.Version: 5.0.8

Managing Director of a business in AustraliaBorn in Epsom but living for a long time in Australia with my wonderful Australian wife, daughter & grandchildren the Telegraph fills a practical and intellectual link with what really made me. Hard to express really, but the quality of journalism…across many facets of life, especially culture and the obituaries , which puts where we all are into perspective, just makes me more complete and happier..Version: 5.1.6

Going to the source by reading Daily TelegraphI noticed so many other news publications citing the daily telegraph. I decided to go to the source, and being in North America I get the news from the daily telegraph before the local publications here can cite it. This publication is comprehensive and incisive..Version: 5.0.9

Good valueI travel a lot and have iPad 3. I find the telegraph excellent for all the news I want. Good value for me at NZ$17 per month - not expensive for what I get out of it!.Version: 2.3.2

It just gets betterI work for about fifty percent in rural Australia and South East Asia. I rely on the UK Telegraph as a primary source of reliable news from outside Australia . Whilst the site was ever so problematic in earlier times , unlike a number of UK based sites I use ; It has continued to problem solve and improve in at a much faster rate. I read the Australian reported news as a way of auditing the reliability of its news and is is always unbiased and accurate. Moreover it is packaged in an easily accessible format ..Version: 3.3.11

What did you do to the puzzles?!Please put the user interface for the puzzles back as it was! The menu button doesn’t work in any of them. The “pen” and “pencil” in the sudoku both seem to behave exactly the same, so,what good are they?.Version: 4.0.8

Great AppLove this newspaper.....Balanced coverage, and covers every aspect and of news, from sports to obituaries. Yes, it's pricey, but we learn that everything British is pricey..Version: 3.3.4
