✓ Frustrating, no help, terrible dictionary !!!!The dictionary does not include many common words (ones that are in any standard US dictionary) and some words you choose get you a message saying "that is a valid word but not in our word list" ?!?! So frustrating.... Deleting the app - many other good word puzzle apps without these issues..Version: 2.1.1
✓ I love this game but ………I play this game every day until at or above 70, but the scoring is not by percent. It is an arbitrary number based on difficulty with the easy words getting more points than the harder words. Ex. I was at 65% got three of the more difficult words as shown by their placement in the bottom of the list and have a new score of 68%. 3/35 total words should have added 8.5% to the score. Why not just assign each word 2.9%?.Version: 3.3.1
✓ WordStorm changesFor the past 13 years my wife and have enjoyed wordstorm, but no more. Like all software writers the world over you have lived up to the motto: “ if it isn’t broken we will fix it until it is”. Shame on you for taking a good thing and ruining it. ✓ No soundI love this game but now there is no sound, and I hear sound on other games and mail alerts and messages. I went out to settings and I don't see where to get the sound back. This is on my new IPAD 3..Version: 2.3
✓ FrustratingI like playing this game and the way it's managed. But I am disappointed with the dictionary. As others said, it doesn't accept basic words. I was denied "bike" and "biked", but "biker" worked. I also wasn't allowed to submit "math". I find at times my submission is denied, but then it's in the list of words I've missed when I say give up. I also find the rotation of the words shake feature to be incredibly desensitized. I shake my phone like mad to no avail. I'd love a push button to shake the letters around. I loved some other suggestions like alphabetical order of words, show you the last word you entered so you can just add a new word ending. But mainly I hope they update the dictionary..Version: 0
✓ SHAMEIts a great game but i type words in and it does not accept them, then when i give up to reveal the words i didn't get those words are there. This game cheats that way and by using words never heard of or found in any dictionary ???!!!!!! Also not allowing words that are everyday words but they say are slang !!!! ✓ Postman PatA good game but not for those with a strong competitive instinct. There are many words not included in the selected list and some that I have been unable to find in any dictionary. ✓ Horrible updateUsed to love this game. Now the font is horrible, the silly graphics are intrusive when you get a word right, the movement is jerky when you change tile position and the words are now more difficult to read with the ugly San serif font. Random games are gone. It looks ugly and unsophisticated. This was a good game. This was not an update. It is a huge step backwards. There are no improvements at all. Only loss of function. And what are those silly dots on the bottom of the Month screen? Please bring back the old interface and random games. Hate this update!.Version: 3.0
✓ Got rid of features!Unless I am totally missing something, they got rid of some features with the update. You can no longer play random games and there is not a high score list. If you want those features, do not update. The additions are relatively insignificant. The game itself is still fun, with a nice UI..Version: 2.0

✓ Cant winThere are games that are challenging and you think you'll never win and you end up figuring it out anyway. This isn't one of them. The words in the game are very obscure and rare. Half the words are words I don't believe I've ever even used nor will I ever. Also, I'll get excited when I find a word, but then it ends up not being in the Wordstorm dictionary. This was very frustrating when I found the word "forge" and "beans" and "gist". Maybe people would actually win if Wordstorm expanded the dictionary. I deleted the app and it's too bad because it would have received five stars if it fixed the dictionary..Version: 0
✓ CleverI'll admit, WordStorm is very clever and unique, and I am a BIG fan of word games. However, there are a few things that I would add to make the game even better: why aren't 3 letter words allowed? Also, a shuffle button would be nice so that I don't have to shake my iPad, and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the way the words are displayed at the bottom of the screen. Why not sort them alphabetically or by grouping them from shortest to longest? It would help us gamers fill in the missing pieces. I think a hint feature would also be cool whenever you are really stuck. It could highlight a few letters in the word sequence and perhaps penalize you a few points but you still have the opportunity to complete the board..Version: 0
✓ FrustratingDoes not recognize completely valid words. Sometimes it says “valid word but not included” fair enough, but mostly it just doesn’t respond. Each time I get to 95% and cannot get the last three words. There is no option to admit defeat and reveal what I missed so I looked up a word unscrambler and tried every single one; nothing! I tried 2 more; again, nothing. I wonder what “popular” words I and 3 computer word unscramblers cannot find. I love words and wanted a challenge that would be relaxing and rewarding, not annoying and frustrating. Deleting this game now..Version: 3.3.1

✓ Awful update!Agree with others, the new update is awful. Was one of my favourite games but really dislike the new font - way too big and very childish. The points coming at you after entering a correct word is very distracting. Pleeeease look at returning it to the way it was, or improve what people are saying they don't like now..Version: 3.0

✓ DisappointedI liked the previous version better. It showed you which letter was the central letter in the results table. Also the words seem much harder in this version. I used to get in the 80%'s now I stubble to get into the 70%'s. I do like the fact you can see every one you have played tho..Version: 2.0

✓ Can’t be both right and wrongI started playing last month. I really began to enjoy the challenge of increasing my monthly average. Then I noticed I was repeatedly getting the reply that the word was VALID but not one of the solutions. Annoying, but not a disqualifier. What has me ready to delete the app altogether is that I have two correct solutions that use ALL the puzzle letters but trigger absolutely NO RESPONSE. I see the developer has many apps. ✓ EnjoyableSome of the words are a bit questionable at times (eg. "beavering") and sometimes it won't accept legitimate words. But generally it is a good game and I play it everyday. I even get 100 percent occasionally. I like that I can choose British spelling..Version: 2.1.1

✓ Great game but has two issuesI love this brain teaser, but I don’t understand why it says something like “It’s a valid word but it’s not in our list”. That doesn’t make sense. It’s telling me that I’m correct, but I won’t get points for it. I also don’t understand the scoring system. A word with 6 letters can get a score of 3 points, and a word with 4 letters can score 6 points. And it’s not using rare letters like Q or X, etc..Version: 3.3.2

✓ Fantastic puzzleThis game is great. Very addicting and for those of you who are competitive it's great to compare with friends to see what percentage you got. There are a couple downsides that are annoying. No landscape mode. Not fun if you are on you're ipad and why doesn't it sync across devices. Would be great if they added a dictionary..Version: 2.3
✓ Frustrating word listI like this game and play a lot (you can go back to years of puzzles) but it’s so frustrating because the developer’s word list is full of weird and archaic words and it doesn’t accept common really good ones. There is no way to get a hint if you get stuck and if you “admit defeat” it boos you! Then you reveal the “common” words you missed and they’re lame like beavering, rowel, bravi and inwove. Meanwhile it tells you that half the dictionary is slang and not valid, like binge and soccer. Many times I’ve found really good long words and it says it’s a valid word but not on the list and then I’m supposed to find these nonsense words that even my spell check has never heard of. I got it a day that it was free but I would be annoyed if I had paid for it. Needs work..Version: 3.3.1

✓ Mean downgradeStill a nasty looking downgrade. Removing the random game function that people have already paid for is a mean sort of Christmas present. Especially as it was already restored once before "by popular demand" in version 2.1. And making a tiny change to the previous version to get the universally bad reviews off the front page is a pretty poor response to criticism. Come on Sean, how about restoring the version that your customers actually liked. This sort of game is more likely to be played by adults. Childish looking fonts and irritating score animations aren't likely to pull in a bunch of new kids. But you may well lose some of your adult following. ✓ No hints, not all words acceptedI liked this game at first, but found that even when I submitted perfectly valid words they weren't always accepted. I take this to mean the words you choose have to be those specific words the author had in mind, and other words, no matter how valid, aren't allowed. That's OK, but when I got stumped, I didn't see a way to get a hint, either! The idea for the game is good and the interface is ok, but it needs some work on the actual gameplay. ✓ Hate the updateThis was one of my favorite word games that I played most often. Didn't have any gimmicks. Now, however, I won't be playing it. Hate the update. Don't like the new, larger font, don't like the score flashing, in your face when you make a word, don't like the interface when you shuffle, don't like anything about it. ✓ Good words disallowed!I've been playing this game for over a year, as I like the concept of finding as many words as poss from a given set of letters.... There are far too many everyday words disallowed as slang or colloquialisms. Heist is one, which is perfectly ok in the English language. Today it disallowed 'Trade' as slang which was the last straw. You can only find 35 words, so it's not a problem when some words are ok, but just not their words. I wonder about the dictionary they are using. So to sum up, it's a good word game spoilt by the above! Updated review to say the above word trade was allowed, it was the word trad that was slang. Even so, most days perfectly good words are dismissed as slang. If this was put right this game would get 5* from me!.Version: 2.1.1
✓ LenorejbSince l updated Wordstorm several days ago, l can't open it with the icon on my ipad. It says the app is waiting. I have to go to the App Store and click on the 'open' button on Wordstorm. I don't like the new interface at all. Change it back to how it was before!!!! I do Wordstorm every day, but it has now been spoilt. Are the game developers going to listen? ✓ Slight improvementBeing able to make that ugly typeface smaller is a definite improvement. But removing the random game feature without warning is like going into your garage and finding that Ford decided to take a wheel back off your car without telling you! There will always be a few everyday words that are not part of the solution and a couple very unusual words.
