Instant Heart Rate: HR Monitor for Negative User Reviews

Not freeGood app, but not free. 6 free measurements then you have to pay.Version: 5.254

Beware - Sends Data to FacebookAccording to news reports on 22 Feb 2019 this app sends data to Facebook without permission..Version: 5.188

Not upfront with pricing!Maybe a reasonable app however, owners are not completely honest with cost. They get you to signup thinking it is free, but it is not and it costs too much. Cheaper and better to buy a Blood Pressure monitor that does more and is accurate. This app just gives you a general pulse and a couple of gadget things, but nothing else really worth the expense they require you to pay. Best to invest in a Blood Pressure monitor which is cheaper and more accurate and gives you your blood pressure as well as pulse for much less than the price for this limited app. Deleted the app Best to buy a watch or monitor which give you more and cheaper..Version: 5.270

WasThis app WAS great. Now it's polluted with Ads. Like, from the moment you open, and immediately after you take your heart rate..Version: 5.104

Glitchy. Could not get it to workDeleted app after I couldn’t get past the adds on first screen.Version: 5.312

Breaches privacyThis app was found to send a user’s heart rate directly to Facebook immediately after it was recorded. Don’t use..Version: 5.188

Not free at allHad been using this app for a fair while and it used to be good but has been completely overrun by ads and “premium” upgrades. Recently they have changed the whole app so now you can’t even use the basic heart monitor with the free version anymore. Waste of time to download as you can’t use any of the functions unless you want to pay a huge amount of money..Version: 5.138

Not worth itThis app clearly want people to purchase by frustrating a potential buyer with adverts that annoyingly pop up whilst you are doing your trail of 5 free readings- not impressed and deleted. First reading went ok before submitting the free trail of 5 readings, after that the app takes ages to read and just before it completes the reading an advert appears and the reading resets. Not worth it and don't like your approach taken, so will not recommend..Version: 5.158

ScamAPPWhat a JOKE? To occasionally measure my heart rate I have to have an account?! Seems like those 5-star reviews are all made up, just the ratings w/out any meaningful reason….Version: 6.0.2

“Free” = notInstalled, registered, and found the app locked to take my heart rate more than once a day unless I paid. Would probably pay for extra features down the track, and actual value, but that restriction seems a bit tight..Version: 5.220

Watch outFree trial? Not really. Crashed every time I tried to use it and charged me the same day for an annual subscription…. $88.13 for an app that doesn’t work- not okay..Version: 5.404

Very aggressive abusive appI don’t write reviews very often but I am making a special exception for this one because it is absolutely horrendous. I understand that the developers have to make their way and I would buy this if it was sensibly priced - but a huge sum of money each month for this? Nope - never ever in my lifetime. The ads do not respect peace or privacy and are highly disruptive, blaring out overly compressed music at ear drum damaging volume that has me ignoring the ad altogether and panicking trying to turn it off. I am going to delete this extremely aggressive psychoapp as it is probably damaging my health by putting my nerves on edge. My heart rate may measure 48bpm when I start using this app but goodness knows what it is by the time I have finished. Respect goes both ways, other app developers manage to be respectful - I am not sure what severe issues and problems this developer has but they have totally failed here - I resent the one star I had to give - this is by far the worst app I own and it gets a solid 0/10 from me, zero respect and quite frankly I think it should be banned. Deleted!.Version: 5.356

Ad shows it checking you blood pressure but it just checks heart rate! Why would somebody pay for a heart rate monitor. It’s not even that accurate. Just don’t download!!.Version: 5.404

Why :/So I had this app a few years back because I’ve always struggled with my heart rate, it would have you apply your finger on the light and slightly on the camera (depending on where your camera and light meet) and would read it within the 10sec and didn’t mess up in any way. It takes forever to read with your fingers now. I went to check my heart rate before writing this and I had applied it to my wrist as it was having a hard time reading from my hand. If I moved my wrist in any way shape or form it would immediately increase my heart rate and the “heartbeat line” would move when I moved my wrist, if I moved it up the line did it too along with moving it down. This app had made a major downfall and could be 100x’s better. Most definitely will be uninstalling..Version: 5.358

Not at all what I wanted!Charged $169 for an basic app that only takes my pulse. Actually wanted a blood pressure app. Not at all happy. I only found out the full functionality after downloading through App Store then accepting it through iTunes. My credit card was debited and the app opens. This is not good at all..Version: 5.282

Too expensiveWhile the app seems good, there seems little relevance between the steep price(s) and ongoing value - what is it we are actually paying for? The annual fee is outrageously high and puts me off the app altogether..Version: 5.168

Too much advertisingThis is the worst app I've ever seen nothing but ads! Don't get it cos you'll regret it as there are plenty of better ones that are only 25mb not 150mb like this one..Version: 5.142

Useless waste of moneyPaid $129. Try to contact them for refund and no return. Heart rate only, not the blood pressure. Useless if your goal is to monitor your heart condition. For that, you need a blood pressure machine or the Samsung watch that does it. Your heart rate and your blood pressure do not automatically increase at the same rate. It’s possible for your heart rate to safely increase twice as much as the normal heart rate while your blood pressure only increases a minimal amount. In fact, even when your heart beats above the normal number of times per minute, healthy blood vessels can become larger for easier blood flow. For instance, your heart rate increases when you exercise which helps more blood to reach your muscles. Aside from physical activities, your heart rate may also be affected by air temperature, your emotions, your body position, your body size and use of medications..Version: 5.404

Inaccurate reading!I checked my pulse on this app and it said 160 bpm. I started to panic. Right away I checked my blood pressure with my Omron blood pressure machine which I’ve had for years and always gives accurate results. Which also shows pulse. And it said 87 bpm. Which the actual accurate reading. Don’t waste your time with the app unless you want to give yourself a heart attack..Version: 6.0.2

App is not freeIt’s free to download and then you are asked to pay to subscribe. 😡.Version: 5.340

Subscribed for £60 a year and doesn’t even workI want to cancel my subscription which cost me £60 as the app is useless. Takes a considerable amount of time to start and glitches giving no results. All I want to do is contact customer support and request a refund as I’ve used it once since my subscription started with poor results! Why is there no way of contacting anyone to request this! So frustrating :(.Version: 5.414

Terrible appI paid the $9.99 for one month to test the credibility of this app. It is terrible to say the least. The only perk is that you can check your heart rate, lots of free apps where you can do that, and that’s about it. The stand up test is the real joke. No matter what you do it gives you a low score, I’m extremely healthy, I have regular doctor visits and am very physically fit, and this consistently gives me lower than 50% rating. Even though my heart rate is 58 BPM. Not to mention it never explains to you why you’re receiving the score you got it just gives you a random score and makes you feel horrible. If that isn’t bad enough, you can not compare it with other peoples because the friend system DOES NOT WORK! You cannot add or view other people and they probably do this so you can’t compare your ridiculous scores. I give this app a 0/10 because the free version is complete garbage and littered with ads popping up every second. Do not waste your time or money on this. You’ve been warned!.Version: 5.138

I would give 0 stars if I could!!OMG how do 30k people recommend this app so well that it has almost 5 stars! Literally how can a camera measure your heart rate from your finger where there isn’t a pulse. And I’ll say it again CAMERA!! I naturally have an elevated heart rate so mine is 100 bpm+ and this app said that it’s 89bpm, due to my tachycardic heart rate I have an Apple Watch that is accurate and uses actual sensors and coloured light to measure my heart rate so I can keep control of it and stay safe. Do not believe what the app tells you because it’s giving you a lie and a false number which can be very dangerous as it says your heart rate is normal but actually it may be very high and you go into Cardiac arrest which may end in death. It is impossible to measure your heart rate by using a camera..Version: 5.282

Too many ads, annoying to useSo many pop ups you have to close just for one pulse reading.Version: 5.104

Decent app, too frustrating to use with ads and loginsThe app isn't bad, but it won't work at all until it's registered to an email address or Facebook, which if you just want to monitor your heart rate is total overkill. Then there are the constant adverts, which if you could remove for a single small fee would be fine, but the app wants you to subscribe to a costly on going monthly service! In summary probably a decent app as long as you don't mind signing up and paying a monthly subscription to use..Version: 5.122

Not free as advertised, gains total access to your deviceI do not believe for one second the high reviews for this app. Once it loads to your device you have to give it permission to access your device in fact it states that even when not in use it will run continuously and may drain your battery. To use it you put your finger against your camera lens (if you have a protection cover on your IPad or IPhone you’ll need to remove it) then your supposed to get your heart rate reading, BUT there are constant pop ups to buy “extra” features or a professional version. It’s very difficult to hold your finger still against the camera lens and close down the pop ups at the same time. It took me 20 minutes to get one reading. You can only do one reading in a 24 hour period of time, so once a day. Worst app ever..Version: 5.192

Can’t get past sign up screen.Won’t send your pulse to the health app, forces you to sign up / sign in even in the paid version and then has the Gaul to want you to PAY to subscribe MONTHLY! Lucky for me I can’t sign up, I enter my email then in the password field the keyboard vanishes. What a janky broken app! This used to be the bomb years back - looks like greed got the better of the app developer, shame!.Version: 5.282

Was great, now less so wanting you to upgradeI’ve had this app for several years and really liked it. It always seemed to be pretty accurate. I would have given it at least a 4-star rating and maybe even a 5. However, recently I haven’t even been able to get a measurement because it starts out wanting you to upgrade and I have yet to figure out how to close all the upgrade ads (closing one just takes you to another and round and round) to try to check my heart rate, despite my best efforts and wasting lots of time trying to close all the upgrade hype. Very unhappy. I have given it a 2 just because it was great in the past. I guess I’m going to have to begrudgingly pay for an upgrade for features that I won’t use just so I can check my heart rate..Version: 5.198

Long time user. Too expensive. When the app first came out I bought premium right away. It was a one time purchase, done. Later on they pulled my premium and then flipped on a yearly sub option priced at a medical equipment rate.. There was also no way I could find on how to restore my purchases. I have a lot of yearly pay apps but they offer evolving streams of data or have off phone services. This is a one trick pony, that works locally on the phone and without the need of servers. I feel the max I would feel comfortable paying yearly would be no more then $25 Functionally wise it works pretty good but starts to loose accuracy over 200-230 BPM.Version: 5.390

Not as good as it use to beThe free version of the app use to be better, the ad's make it impossible to use now..Version: 6.0.2

Accurate butThis app accurately measures your heart rate. But if you are in a rush to find out due to health problems, do not use this app. You'll be faced with 2 pop ups every time you open the app, and then THREE, yes three pop-up videos DURING your heart rate measurement. (This probably affects readings as you need to move hand and touch the screen each time to get rid of video). And if that wasn't enough, you'll be faced with ANOTHER ad when your measurement is complete. A load of garbage basically..Version: 5.122

Apps like these cannot work.I would like to remind those unaware that measuring your heart rate via your flash might sound possible at first, but there are no sensors to actually detect the amount anything like your heart rate anyway. These apps literally cannot work without an external sensor, if you have a serious heart condition or want to know your actual heart rate, please look for proper devices, a fitness watch, etc..Version: 5.348

Don’t waist your timeNeed to create an account and stuff It’s just a basic heart monitor app.Version: 5.406

Good app, but endlessly expensiveThis works well - great accuracy on cross-checking. But you only get something like five tries before they ask for the huge subscription fee, which is nearly 100 dollars a year..Version: 5.240

Spammy piece of s#%tToo many ads.Version: 5.282

Keep it simpleThis used to be press and go, now it’s an absolute pain to use. Always asks me to sign up every time I open the app. Why would I need to sign up for a ******* heart rate monitor app? Also it takes way longer to load now on older phones. I need it to do one thing, but now there’s all these extra ‘features’ that cost $90 a year to unlock. If you’re someone who wants to spend that kind of money on literally 2, maybe 3 extra little (TINY) features then I’ve lost faith in humanity. I’m gonna go take an angry nap..Version: 5.282

What a waste of my time! This is the worst app I’ve ever downloaded. It doesn’t even want to take my heart rate, very frustrating to say the least. There’s no support in the app to make sure it’s working okay - in this case not working at all. Because of this my stress levels just made my BP even higher. Shockingly bad app. And you expect me to pay for the privilege? You must be joking!! I’ve given this app one star, another insult, if I could I would gladly give minus five stars, seriously..Version: 5.206

Ads ftlWrecked my test and didn’t work well.Version: 6.0.2

I cannot get the heart reader to workFor some reason I cannot get the heart ready to work. When I load it up comes up with updates news where loads of information that you do now, I re select measure and it shows the heart measure lest that second and goes back to the information you do and when I select premium link it comes up with a error message. I got iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Pro Max and it doesn’t not work on it.Version: 5.348

Don’t use it you have health anxietyThis app CAN work about 50% of the time. It can easily be manipulated if you have shaky hands or fingers, use in different lighting or hold your hand slightly wrong, I was able to manipulate the reading by slightly shaking my finger and it gave me a reading of 280bpm. I have shaky hands and these readings are completely inaccurate. Purchase a smart watch for accurate readings..Version: 5.404

Sad and DisappointedUsed to be my favourite. I’ve been having heart rate problems for a while now, and I decided to see if the same guy be I used back in the day was still around, so I instantly downloaded as it was the most reliable one I had a few years ago. I was even more excited to see my previous heart rate history still saved! So I got right down to trying it out! I got what I expected and was pleased, until I wanted to try again. That’s when I was hit with the pay wall. I used this app as a free and reliable alternate option to a heart beat / blood pressure machine. I even tried downloading others but they’re super unreliable, so now I’m just left in the dark again..Version: 5.224

Sign up or have a paperweightYou have to sign-up to use..Version: 5.220

Added 20 beats to my heart rateNot very accurate. I thought it was but discovered it isn't.Version: 5.104

BenTerrible pop ups. The five star 'perfect reviews' are scams..Version: 5.118

DisappointingThe “free” version is close to useless. Only allowed me to take two readings then stopped working. The free version of the app is basically just an ad for the premium version..Version: 5.122

Only one free measurement before endless pestering beginsI just downloaded this and managed to do one single pulse measurement – after that it was all you have to ‘join’ to use this app so they get your email, and once you've done that the screen freezes with adds for 3 day free trails of every service and sign up for £50 plus premium membership to do other things I totally didn’t need. All I needed was to take some pulse readings - quite frankly total waste of my time. I deleted immediately - wish i hadn’t downloaded at all..Version: 5.342

Not sureHad this for some time on iPhone X seems ok would give 5 stars however since getting 12 to max it’s really wild sometimes extremely low then extremely high readings so would give one star then check without moving iPhone X seems what I would expect so overall have to give 3, just took a reading sitting down 195 don’t think so.Version: 5.282

Vicious circleI reinstalled the app but I couldn’t remember my password if you think it is easy, just click “forgot my password” and solve the problem. They sent you a link doesn’t work, you click again, doesn’t work, click again again but the link they sent is not clickable so you stuck and even you can’t write to the developer because you don’t have your password. It is a vicious circle. By the way why a heart monitor app needs to collect every single data, files, contacts etc. on your phone and have the right to sell the information to the third parties..Version: 6.0.2

Sign up if you want to use thisI got one free usage then demanded I signed up to continue Not happening Jones.Version: 5.192

Feels misleadingI appreciate the free version of this app but after having some heart related issues I decided to purchase the subscription. I was under the impression and felt like it was suggested that the app created an ekg like reading for doctors. In the advertisement for the paid subscription version, it stated that sending the report to the individuals Dr helped them find out they had a fib. I paid for the subscription and made a report to show my cardiologist. He basically laughed in my face and said “I don’t know what this is…it looks like it just tracks a simple heart beat but this cannot show me anything especially not anything relative to an ekg. Super disappointing..Version: 5.404

Not accurateI can’t get an accurate reading. Five different tests, five different readings Ranging from 50 to 149 all different..Version: 6.0.2

Not worth pro despite advert but good appSo the ads was annoying I tried the trial and it wasn’t worth it other features not worth cost but at least it got rid of the ads only pro point. As for the app you can measure your own pulse which I did at 87bpm I did this by counting the beats via my pulse and times this by 2 for beats per minute. Compared with the app which said it was 92bpm using my right hand and a resting rate with app and counting both after 5 mins rest and relax. Did this a few times and it is always roughly give or take 5 bpm out give or take on average so isn’t fully accurate however close enough for reassurance if you need the convenience of an app when out and about or at work for instance. Great app however the pro features are not useful to me. Paying to email and print results when I could just let the doctor view the app in my opinion is overpriced so I will put up with adverts instead. Great app and I’d suggest it to anyone interested but don’t compensate for genuine medical advice outside the app where required always take qualified advice. Will give a fairly accurate just slightly each way 5 bpm out reading so isn’t too bad. Thanks to the development teams and try it you won’t be disappointed folks..Version: 5.240

Too much advertisingBetween the ads and upgrade messages the free version is a pain to use. But it does show your pulse, so it works..Version: 5.104

This app is not freeThe app takes a reading and then locks you on a screen that forces you to give either your e-mail address or your Facebook account information. I tried to get around it, thinking this app is free. But I couldn’t. So I put in an alternate e-mail address I send junk mail to like I do with all apps that pull this type of sucker move on users. Then, after casually selecting the option that the app save my heart rate it sticks me on this inescapable screen that tells me I can use it something like 7(?) times for free but then it’s $9.99(?) a month. Dear App Developer. This 1 star review wouldn’t be here if there was transparency from the start. I’m having a heart issue. It’s why I downloaded this app. Thanks for frustrating me even more while trying to use it. Much appreciated. My advice is to download an app that’s actually either free, a reasonable one time cost, or at the least - is completely transparent in the description that this app is subscription based only..Version: 5.192

SCAM FALSE free pretensesI downloaded to compare with my friend’s Samsung app. It said it was free. It LIED! When the app installs itself it gets you to login with a new acct or Facebook. So far “OK”. Then it says (with no ability to opt out) to do unlimited use for 7 days and the pay $9.99/mo OR get 5 free uses and then and the they’ll start billing you. Since there’s no Opt Out option (and I’m supposed to be able to “cancel at anytime” by updating settings). So I do the 5 free option and immediately go to settings WHICH SHOWS NO OPTION TO CANCEL OR CHANGE SETTINGS!! I go to tech support in Support and search for “cancel subscription” and it says I have to go through Apple Pay to cancel/manage my subscription with them. Soooo I go there and they’re not in there -at least not yet. I’m assuming they’re going to try and bill me FIRST and then cancel so they can keep $9.99. WHAT A SCAM!!! I will set a reminder for 7days from now to cancel/complain to Apple. Parasites....Version: 5.212

Not always accurateSometimes it reads very high like 150 when it’s 80 measured by my wife who is a registered nurse. This is alarming to see and gives me panic, if you have anxiety don’t use this app because it will sometimes give false high readings. Not cool!.Version: 5.224

Terrible. It tries to make u purchase it before u even try it, couldn’t get past the screen without committing to a 7 day trial, there’s no way to say no and I killed the app to prevent that. U can’t do anything without repeated pop ups and ads that start playing loud audio then I couldn’t read anything but the number. The text is MICROSCOPIC. I am an app junkie and this is the absolute worst one I’ve tried yet. I’ve never had and app try to get me to buy something so many times just to use it once. I have no idea if I am now automatically signed up for this bs that I did not agree to, NOR do I have any idea how to cancel it yet. And don’t get me started on how it crashed my phone 3 times trying to get it and it asked for my finger print like 8-ish times and my Apple ID password three times. Somethings seriously messed up here..Version: 5.206

Advertising restricts using appThe free option is difficult to use because you can’t close the advertising easily and do a test. Unless it improves I will remove the app shortly. Don’t mind a bit of advertising but it’s over the top especially when it restricts using the app.Version: 5.192

Markus markVery inconsistent, right finger pulse is different to left finger... at doctors while getting ECG... minimum 20BPM difference sometimes 30... once it read 220bpm and I was watching TV... checked my pulse on wrist and was only 75bpm. Dr in ER also cracked it with me using app as he said ER admissions have doubled because of these inaccurate apps. Also said if they were that good Dr would ask patients to put finger on their phone to check people’s Heart rate. Patients see a bad squiggling line freak out and head straight to ER. Take results with a grain of salt people. If you want true pulse result check your own on your wrist or neck and keep a dairy..Version: 5.206

Not what I was afterI knew I was doing 200 bpm but app was showing a flat line. Only after my heart rate got below 150 did the app recognise it and return a value..Version: 5.192

Not freeThey let you try the app out, and then they ask you for $150.00 to keep using it. Waste of money for sure, my Apple Watch checks my heart rate for free!!! Scammers!!!.Version: 5.404

Great Accurate app but...Hi this is a good highly accurate Heart Rate app, but the annual fee is much too high compared to buying and actual heart rate watch or other wearable. I bought a brand new heart rate monitor watch for less than this app's annual fee!!! Due to a health issue I also need an important function that this app doesn't have, but most 'wearables' do have, a wearable can sound or vibrate an alarm that warns a person that their heart rate is getting too high or low. This app can't do that, so unfortunately needs to be constantly checked to avoid a person going outside their safety parameters. It would be nice to use the pro functions and store the data on this app, but the cost is way too high considering there's other apps that link for free to a wearable and store your data too. However the app makers have a good concept here, it works well and is accurate compared to other devices. I used it to establish if I had heart rate issues and found I did, which was later confirmed by my doctor. Had the pro-version of this app been lower in price (like $20) I would have and I think many others would have bought it, probably resulting in higher overall volume and profit for the makers. Sometimes asking too much scares off people like myself. But If I see the cost reduce to a fairer price, I promise I'll come back and remove my comments on the high cost..Version: 5.104

TerribleSo disappointed in this app, unless you’re willing to fork out a lot its pointless by less and a waste of time..Version: 5.148

It can’t measure blood pressureUseless.Version: 5.404

Now requires an account :-(I've been using it for years but now that it requires an account and personal infos, sorry but: nope....Version: 5.356

Just charge me and go awayWhy does this app need to be a subscription? It gave me a few free scans and then insisted I upgrade to a subscription plan!!? I just want my heart rate measured from time to time. Charge me $20 and leave me alone. Why's it got to be infinite cost?.Version: 5.104

App has got worse with new phonesThis app used to be great way to check your pulse oh how things have changed...They used to use the flash to check your pulse now instead they have you just put 2 fingers on the camera and the readings are all over the place. Like yesterday I was checking after exercise and my pulse was all the way to 185 which doesn’t happen to me cause I have low heart rate , so most of the time even with an intense workout example a cardio workout going about 90% max effort I get to about 140 to 150 bpm because my resting heart rate is around 67 bpm. But for 10 mins when I used the app it stayed in 130 to like 170 range and wouldn’t change and I got nervous so I did the old way and checked my pulse by counting the number of beats for 15 seconds and multiplying by 4 and it was about 85 bpm which sounded about right! So I tried this app called Inpulse and the heart rate was exactly what I thought it was. So for people who want heart rate app thats accurate get Inpulse don’t use this app or else your gonna make your self think you have faster heart rate then you really have!.Version: 5.282

Dif not give me free trial and wasn’t the same price as advertisedThey charged me $41.44 when I signed up for their 3 day free trial. I’m hoping someone can point me in the direction of a refund because that was unacceptable.Version: 5.404

The free version no longer works.Used to be free. But now I can’t seem to use it without having to pay (a lot)..Version: 5.168

Ads chaotic, interfering w measurement.I have the non premium version of this app. I understood this non premium version of the app works to give bpm but, just not the many other features. As I try to take the measurement, ads pop up blocking the screen and even seeming to interrupt the process but in any case blocking the read out. I don’t mean a single ad. Sometimes as many as 3-4 ads pop up and block the bpm scree in rapid suggestion. The x to reject the ads are hard to see on this iPhone X but when I find the x, as I do within a few seconds, it may take several presses to clear out the ad but, worse, another ad sometimes pops up immediately, and this sometimes repeats, as I said, 3-4 times. I understand ads for non premium apps. I have other non premium apps w ads and the App Store description helpfully notes ads or no ads. They’re a small hassle of course. But I have never had an app show a second ad in immediate succession, let alone 3. or 4! And this app is about emergencies, where being able to read the core data immediately is essential. I’m getting a different app. With this performance I’m not willing to trust these developers or their app. This is heartbeats per minute!!! How irresponsible!! If you are concerned about potential incidents of too rapid beat, I’d avoid this non premium..Version: 5.122

Way offDon’t bother with this app. Went premium for the month. Free version has way too many ads but both free and premium version do not work. Every time I tried to use it it would say hold still and place your finger on the camera over and over which I was. I downloaded a second app that does the same thing. Anytime I was able to get a reading from this app it would be upto 40 beats higher than the other app. It once gave me a resting heart rate of 116. This app doesn’t work..Version: 5.240

No longer dependableWhen I first started using this app some years ago, it was simple, accurate, and useful; the “instant” in the name was appropriate, and the readings were dependable. In recent updates, however (and this may have something to do with the placement of the camera lenses starting with iPhone 12), it is no longer dependable, either starting/stopping many times, or just telling me that there is no finger on the lens when finger placement is exactly where it was when readings worked fine with another app. I take multiple readings per day, and this app has let me down more often than not. Although I have tried to contact the developer about this, (s)he hasn’t gotten back to me, and there do not appear to be any changes in the app’s dependability. It was good for several years, but I’m afraid that as things stand, it’s not going to last much longer on my phone..Version: 5.358

Pay to be harassed into premiumI just want to use this app without logging in, is it really so hard? Given I already paid for it, why do I need to login when all I’m after is a quick heart rate measurement? This is just so stupid! I keep coming back and installing this app thinking that maybe you’ve actually updated it, and then every time I have to delete it again.Version: 5.192

Complete ripoffThis app shines a light into your finger, uses the camera to record the brightness of it (due to fluctuations in blood pressure), finds the peak values and gives you a number. That's it. There's no magic to it, it's been done a million times. However it seems to think that you should be paying some extortionate license fee to use it, and spams you with constant ads and pop ups and other things. The fact it's number one is seemingly because people haven't bothered scrolling down past the top results on the App Store, and are essentially being robbed. Aaaaand it's 160MB. What is that about!?.Version: 5.138

Shonky AppI thought I’d down load this ‘free’ app and see how it worked. The first thing the app tried to do was log me in to its server and give me a free heart rate measurement that would also sign me up for a subscription, with a note that my apple account would be automatically debited each month UNLESS I canceled the ‘free’ trial. There was no facility to opt out once I had provided my details. I have since deleted the app as I don’t want anything to do with this shonky site. I have given it one star coz there is no option for a zero rating..Version: 5.224

BEWARE!I Paid for the “professional” use of this app and not barely 3 days and it’s FULL OF ADS and can’t use it more than 3 times daily. What the heck did I pay for ? They want a dollar a day?!?.Version: 5.358

Interruptive ads ruin this appThe app appears to record your heart rate fairly well for your initial heart rate. Once you active the free mode, you get bombarded with ads and upgrade requests while trying to record your heart rate. I tried several times to record my heart rate but kept getting interrupted. Also the free version only lets you record your heart rate 5 times, so don’t bother with this app unless you plan on paying for it..Version: 5.160

Not badNice app however I really don’t feel like paying a generous amount for features I will barely or never use, I would however pay a small amount just to get rid of the adds and I’m sure I’m not the only one so please consider including this option..Version: 5.140

CancelHow do I cancel this app? I ordered it by mistake.Version: 5.358

Wrong information about free trialAlthough they say there are 3 days free trials, you will charged immediately after subscription! It’s a wrong information.Version: 5.404

Urgent QuestionWhat annual fee there better not be no one told me about any annual fee please get back to me regarding this.Version: 5.150

UNPROFESSIONAL AND SCAMThese people know exactly what they’re doing ... They scammed me out of money by renewing my subscription and tallying it up without my knowledge for months when I was only under the free trial. then one day I wake up and have a bill from Apple for $63???? For THIS app ??? Since WHEN is it okay to do this to someone without telling them every month ? I didn’t even agree to this . I didn’t even want to renew the free trial .This app isn’t even worth the ridiculous monthly price they try to charge . Would be better off buying one from Walgreens and would save you WAY more money . they scammed me. Since when is it ok to charge someone or hold someone accountable for something without letting them know ? Without giving them a proper billing statement or ANYTHING ?i didn’t use the app for months let alone have a single transaction from them then boom I see this ? I WILL be requesting a refund and I hope no one else purchases this app and falls victim to this , OUTRAGEOUS.Version: 5.240

SubscriptionOffered a 3 day free trial but I got charged for it regardless 😐.Version: 5.356

Paid for pro but now I need to subscribeI paid for a the pro version of this app, which has since become a free app which I need to pay monthly for.Version: 5.220

App write completely wrongSubscriptions now hugely expensive..Version: 5.202

Too Many App Blocking AdsThis is no doubt a valuable application if the app itself would let you use it. But it continuously try’s to get you to update from the free version to the premium by blocking access to the heart rate monitor button with these upgrading ads. And they don’t go!! So even if you click on them or ‘X’ them out they are still blocking your access. After allowing you to use the heart rate monitor for 3-4 times the app is giving you no choice but to upgrade to a paid version which is poor show. Why place your product as free when the creator has obviously not meant it to be. Because of these function blocking ads I’ve had to delete my version and stick to my Heart Rate Lite app. This also has ads btw but they don’t block the heart rate function and go away when you’X’ on them which is what ads should do ie give you the freedom to choose! Won’t be downloading or using this again and definitely do not recommend if you’re looking for a basic heart rate monitor that’s free..Version: 5.224

Operations blocked by “offer” to upgrade to premiumThis app seemed to be reasonable and useful for awhile but in less time than a month, it has now become useless because I cannot even measure my heart rate anymore. The app prompts me to measure my heart rate, which is good, but when I click on the prompt to take the measurement, I am only brought to a set of screens that prompt me to upgrade. I say “a set of screens“ because the first screen will have a little X to escape from it, but when I hit the X, there is no escape. Instead, I am brought to another screen that offers me a full upgrade. When I hit the X on that one, I’m back at that first screen. Not interested in saying yes to this circular trap, I am now finding this app was a waste of my time investment initially. This is not the rating & review I wanted to leave for this app, so I am disappointed..Version: 5.254

Worst heart rate appThis is the worst heart rate app ever you get 5 times to use before you have to pay and there are consistent adds that never stop DO NOT USE THIS APP.Version: 5.232

Very intrusive adsI get that this is a free app and they need to make some money off it but MAN there are some seriously intrusve full-page ads on this thing. Do yourself a favour and don’t download this app..Version: 5.122

Not usable without registrationNow need to register to check your pulse 😂.Version: 5.388

Great free app - but don’t select paid extras.Happy with the basic recording of heart rate - which is all I need. When I cancelled the accidental selection of free Premium content trial, I was still charged over a week before ‘free’ time deadline. Finding how to cancel it is nigh on impossible. Great app...but I wouldn’t recommend the paid extras!.Version: 5.150

MRIt’s good app but Crap with adds . It makes you watch Add first . Waste of time and it’s nonsense.Version: 6.0.2

Doesn't workI downloaded the supposedly free version. I could measure my heart rate once and was then offered a 3-day free trial for the premium version which I declined, but then the app wouldn't work (I just kept offer the free 3 day trial and no matter how many times I declined, I could not use any of the free app features)..Version: 5.358

Ads too intrusiveI use this app because I enrolled in the heart study and I want to contribute to medical science but it's very annoying that ads interrupt the readings. I get daily reminders to measure my heart rate and I like that but to the developer, calm down! Let me get the results before you bombard me with ads! I'll look at the ads after I get my reading but I often don't use the app because I don't feel like dealing with having to redo the reading because gets interrupted. Also, I subscribed to the calorie counter partner app and was I hugely disappointed. The app was difficult to use and often didn't recognize the food I was eating (taking a picture of your meal was a selling point). You asked me for a review! So there it is..Version: 5.118

My mistakeMyneunie I did the exact same thing. I ended up paying for it even though I deleted the freaking app immediately. I wanted to try it. I Never buy Anything before trying it but couldn’t seem to get out of the app without hitting buy. It’s a convenient for them glitch as far as I’m concerned. It’s taking advantage as far as I’m concerned. I’m on disability and don’t go buy things because I can. I’m also Very computer literate so I wasn’t in over my head. I’m mad though. I will use it though as I’m STUCK with it anyway I hope it’s worth the money and hassle. That $6 something is a WEEK???? Are you kidding me? The app says if you want to cancel go to settings then Apps I did that. And there is NO SUCH ITEM AS CANCEL. I can not afford this I’ve deleted the app from day one. But as far as cancelling the app and payment. I can’t do it. I really hope you and potential customers see this because I will post it on every social media I have. And won’t stop until it’s gone from my account. GOT IT. SCAMMERS.Version: 5.358

Almost works sometimesThis is a very clever app making use of the rear camera and the light, and when it works it takes about 30s, and when it doesn't you can spend 30 minutes trying different fingers and placing it near the light over the light at different angles and the app just doesn't want to detect your finger..Version: 6.0.2

BadDont bother downloading.Version: 5.412

What a waste of timeI’m sat in hospital board with a resting heart rate of 61. Downloaded this for fun to compare. The difference is A LOT. 61 in hospital and 77 on the app. The main reason for me to place a review is that the app is full of inconvenient crap in likes of sing in to this , enable this, can the app have access to this, and the bloody worst “ set daily reminders to alert you to take the test “. I mean “ what the hell” if I feel bad I’ll bloody test myself. Don’t bother with this.Version: 5.324

Unable to create an accountThere’s a bug, couldn’t find the server.Version: 5.414

DECEIVING!!!Are usually read all of the “ fine print” prior to purchasing an app. Maybe I missed it on this one… But purchasing the non-premium/free app is an absolute waste of time! You are suckered in and convinced that you will be able to learn, record, and track your Heart Rate for free. And if you want many added features, you would need to purchase the premium version. As I open the app for the first time, I realize it takes a little bit of practice to record my heart rate accurately. So I practice it a few more times. The next day, I open up the app to take a look at it and try to record it right before exercising, and I find that it will not work anymore. Silly me, I assume that I am using the app incorrectly. I try to figure it out for about 15 minutes and still fail at it. Later that day I look at it again for about 20 more minutes, and still can’t figure it out. The next day I opened it one more time to try to figure it out, 15 minutes later I finally realize in small print it says you may only check your heart rate 5 or 6 times. So long story short, you can basically use this app for one day for free then it is completely USELESS! I wasted a lot of time, Energy, and allowed myself to become frustrated for two days straight. I was totally suckered. :-/.Version: 5.182

DisappointingI have used the free version of this app for a number of years and have found it very accurate. I had an irregular heart rate and this showed it clearly and I have since had surgery to correct it. Unfortunately the app is not now giving me the info I need to do my checks. For what I want I’m not paying nearly a hundred pounds a year for it when I can get a NHS accepted monitor for less from Boots. Very disappointed..Version: 5.122

It’s a carrot on a stick. You get one free measurement. Then you need to sign up, which apparently gives you a few more days, but you need to subscribe through the Apple subscription service. Definitely not a free app. There is no explanation of this BS anywhere. They are like a modern version of the salesperson who wedges their feet into your door once you open it a bit. Stay away!!!.Version: 5.404

Not impressedIt took a reading, just 1 reading, and then directed me to the premium page, I clicked not now, so it directed me to a page that says , 5 free readings, but then it will auto charge me £7.99 a month, it thanked me for registering, which I’m sure I’ve not done, although I accessed it through Facebook, so maybe it’s got details from there.. it also states that deleting app or closing it will not stop the payments u have to cancel in iTunes .. I’ve definitely not clicked on anything to say I want to pay for this app. I don’t want the app. And I won’t be paying for it..Version: 5.220

Can’t be used without creating an accountApp developers want to invade your privacy and sell your data..Version: 6.0.2

Seams suspiciousFirst time using it, I scanned my fingerprint then it asked for long in information, but to continue using it I have to pay $12 a month or $130 a year, yes I rounded up the dollar; now I have to charge my password..Version: 6.0.2
