SpeakEasy French Pro for Negative User Reviews

Buy a phrase bookIn France with this now. Totally useless. Don't waste your money the range of vocab is so limited and I bought the add ons.Version: 3.2

Don’t BotherI was looking for useful phrases and I found two! Essential words like water couldn’t be found unless willing to pay $1.99 to upgrade..Version: 3.5

Incomplete. Every freakin version. On the surface this app appears to be well made CBS easy to use. (Just like speak easy). However when you try to use it you immediately run into a pay-wall. I can't look up the word "bear" without purchasing a bundle? Each version I've tried hasn't found what I need and I can't purchase another bundle for fear that it too won't be a complete dictionary..Version: 3.2

It's not offline!I bought extra version which is not working without net connection. Not worth a penny.Version: 3.5

Like this appThis is a good app. Currently learning French at night school and this helps loads with remembering the pronunciation once I get home. Shame that the extra phrases cost extra money on top of the app cost. I would rather they add they price onto the app price so people know the up front cost of the WHOLE app, added extras just feel sneaky. The app is worth the money spent though Also, I would really like the alphabet as I am struggling to remember how to say my letters. Also a function to hear regional differences would be useful, for example how things would sound different in north France compared to south France compared to Canada.Version: 1.1

Doesn’t help beginnersThere’s no place that displays the alphabet or simple verbs so you can start building sentences. There are only phrases and flash cards which doesn’t help with no prior knowledge.Version: 4.0

Not worth a penny!Expensive and limited. Don't ask for In App Purchases for a £3 app! Duolingo is free and better! So many free apps that offer more!.Version: 3.5

OverpricedAlmost everything I needed to know while traveling required additional purchases. For what is offered in the app, it should be free. Totally overpriced for what is available..Version: 3.5

Very limited ☹️If you don't outgrow this in 5 mins, there's something wrong with you. The search can't find very basic stuff. Limited!.Version: 3.5

Refund requested!!Review update: 10 days later! Everything now works beautifully and exactly as it should. Accessibilty was restored a couple of days after returning from France (better late than never) and i again realise what a little gem this is (when it works?) Original review: I want my money back!!!! Bought the basic app which worked quite well until I accidentally clicked on the bundle.... 10 days later it's still 'thinking', won't go forward or back therefore I have no access at all to this app. Not a great start to my 2 week holiday in France!! And I'm only giving it one star because otherwise I am unable to send this review!.Version: 1.1

Where is my bundle pack?Whilst I really like this app - the phonetic spelling is brilliant - I still don't have my bundle pack. I keep getting an error message saying I'm not connected to the Internet when I clearly am. I have tried everything I can think of - even reinstalling the app and the bundle pack STILL refuses to download. I want to love it but instead I'm frustrated by it. Please fix it!.Version: 1.1

After buying I didn't expect to have to purchase add onsPhrase categories are rudimentary and if you want anything more sophisticated you are invited to purchase add ons. I'm used to the come on with free apps, not the ones I paid for. Also, I didn't get too far before I got a pop up box inviting me to register for a free phrase a day. When I tried to register I got a lot of programming script and a message that I would have to try again later. I did. Same problem. But the message wouldn't leave the screen unless I rejected the "offer," so I couldn't get past the first basic phrases unless I declined..Version: 3.5

Be warnedThis is quite a clear and useful app for what you get but it costs £1.49 And it doesnt stop there Most searches result in a further request for payment for another app which completely puts this app in a frustrating area even if you disregard the additional cost..Version: 1.1

Useful but lackingWorth the money, but lacks being able to make flashcards from your favourite phrases which is a significant oversight. Favourites being the ones you want to work on. Also annoying you have to make further purchases for some phrases but at least that was clear from free version. Overall ok, but the flashcards thing stops it being good..Version: 3.2

Don't buy!Forces you to buy more vocabulary packet. Does not offer all the vocabulary options shown in demo upon purchase!.Version: 3.5

Ok but limited without further $$Nice app and user friendly, but frequently the search returns with translations that require a purchase of the 'bundle pack'. I purchased this app for around $6 and I would expect the complete dictionary for French - if I wanted other languages, I would purchase the 'bundle pack'. Buy it if you want only a slightly helpful app when in France..Version: 3.5

Just used this in ParisIt worked okay, but I found it lacking in a lot of circumstances, too much in fact for a paid version. I expected a lot more than buying a "teaser app" that requires even more paid expansions for something I already purchased..Version: 1.1

Do not buy this app!I have bought this app for a half year but I have never used it because it is too bad and drive me crazy..Version: 1.3

Bundle PackStill no bundle pack. Grrr!.Version: 1.1

Painfully basic, overpriced, predatory IAPsThe content it does have is *alright*. The issue is that it has very very little content. The vast majority of phrases you'd use in everyday conversations aren't in here, even with the in-app purchases. Seriously disappointed that I bought this. I should have read the five star reviews more closely - they're very obviously not legit reviews..Version: 3.5

Terrible in actual experience in FranceDo not buy this app. I found phrases on 4 pages in the back of a travel guide which was much better than this. I was excited about this app when I bought it here in the US. However, in practical usage in France over 3 weeks, I found it to be useless. The phrases are too basic, and not usable in actual conversation. Try to mirror what you'd say in a taxi, a hotel, or in a restaurant here, and then imagine the same situation in France and you'll see what I mean. E.g. Try ordering a typical breakfast you'd order using this app, and you will see what I mean..Version: 3.2

It's got the questions, not the answers! This app is great if you want to ask questions in French. However it doesn't tell you what to expect as a response! There's barely a mention of 'C'est' etc... It's all very good being able to ask where things are but how on earth do you expect us to know what the response means!.Version: 1.3

Great phonetic breakdownThis app contains more than enough phrases and basic words to see you through your visit to France or to form the basis of your study. I paid the extra for the upgrade and don't really think its contents is necessary, maybe too advanced when it misses out basics like the alphabet..Version: 3.2

If you really know no FrenchThis would help if you knew nothing otherwise complete waste of $3.99; these are basic phrases you can find in free downloads..Version: 3.5

Too basicA potentially really good app but not enough content. In the food category there are maybe 20 vegetables if that many. How more content is add as the flags cards are a terrific tool..Version: 3.5
