BeatMaker 2 for Positive User Reviews

PowerfulReally powerful what i thought was it was going to be a drum machine what i got was a studio in my hands. and for making dub step? top notch!!.Version: 2.3

Greatest APPHave the original and for me it's easy to say that this is ten times better than beatmaker one, you can basically produce music without any other equipment but your phone.Version: 2.0

Dropbox issueI cant conect to my dropbox, it lets me sign in but nothing shows up aftr, ??.Version: 2.6.4

Very advancedVery advanced. Great control over effects- everything can be automated independently- every single slider on every effect for a track. Touches like the option for a 4x4 array of velocity pads for a single voice are great and there endless finessing tweaks you can make. Plus many banks of drums triggers and quick in situ change of beat resolution and triplets (eg 48 subdivisions) including up to 96 subdivisions makes for amazing beat programming. You aren't stuck with just 16 note values for a drum track you can choose from a "wall" of different pad banks. Thank you! The interface/workflow is honestly not that intuitive out of the box - this is a hallmark of a truly powerful program tho and it is worth investing the time in. However !! The included keyboard sampler packs are atrocious. You will need to do a bit of work to find bass and lead sounds worthy of the beats you create! With audiobus support this may be less of an issue as you can trigger midi via keyboard tracks and then record the other apps audio output into an audio track. Also I have to say the keyboard sample editor is great. Surprisingly simple to add zones and velocity-specific layers to sample based instruments you create. With a bit of pasteboard actions from other apps including Alchemy (one of my favorite synths), you can come up with usable keyboard instruments. Cheers!.Version: 2.4.2

The best iOS music app hands downThis is honestly the best IOS music app and it's not close. If you get this app all you need is some additional synths, Audiobus, a midi keyboard with an lightening to USB camera connection kit to hook the keyboard to your device and your set. This app is hands down one of the best. Take it from me, an iOS user who has tried many apps over the years including impc and it's not even close. Big time artist like Mannie Fresh use this app which shows how good it is. When it comes to sampling, stability, arrangement, a good UI, and music creation, BM2 can't be beat and it is so good I rarely use my pc these days. Intua made an amazing app with beatmaker 2 and I can't wait to see what the future holds for this company..Version: 2.6.2

O for orsum!I'm no software developer or anything like that just a Kiwi lad who loves music production, this app is the sh**!!! I find myself constantly searching for more songs to import and chop up, yeah you gotta save it so u don't loose it but who cares. This is one of the only apps on my IPhone 3GS and it never crashes. U heard me NEVER. I find myself getting lost for hours making beats and music. Gotta be wearing headphones though to truly make it work well. Sounds mean as on the car stereo, freestyling over a beat u just made on a long as roadtrip. Hell yeah, my kinda heaven. Worth the bucks..Version: 2.0.1

PERFECTMakes beatmaking an absolute pleasure with this perfect DAW. Looking for kits? Google b3atcr38r.Version: 2.6.0

Amazing! This is an absolutely amazing app. If you love making music, this app is a no brainer. Great for laying down song ideas with a full sound on the go with heaps of realistic instruments. Would've given it 5 stars if audio recording was supported.Version: 2.0

Works great nowDropbox and iPhone 8 plus U/I glitches are fixed 🙏🏽.Version: 2.6.4

Audiobus support please! This app is amazing. One of my favs. Please add audiobus support for us!.Version: 2.4.2

Best feature set of any iOS dawSrsly... Pitch shift, time stretch, automation. It's all here. Plus it runs on your phone.Version: 2.5.4

Worthy of it's titleThis app excels at refining beats and the midi capabilities are perfect for triggering, using this with Lemur rocks!.Version: 2.4.2

Amazing !Amazing bought a iPod touch when version 1 came out just for this. I could see the possibilities but the screen was to small. But this now replaces my Roland MV8000, MC-909 and SP 505 hope audio tracks are added soon. I bought my IPad 2 just for this and i'm not disappointed also checkout Thumbjam also incredible..Version: 2.1.2

Amazing!I was hesitant at first because I have the original beatmaker but soon realized how amazing this app is. There are so many great updates I can't even review. As said before the "undo" feature is great. Multiple layers with effects and instruments. I can't wait to play with this more! Only took me a bit to get used to the new layout but doubt I'll be using beatmaker original anymore! Well worth the 20 bucks. I would pay a lot more for this! 5+ stars! Highly recommended and fun :) from novice to pro!.Version: 2.0

The best app...butWould like to see the app in my iPod app exports an imports and I also would like you to add stop bar so that you can stop each bar or note were you want to thanks for making the one of the best music apps ever....Version: 2.1.2

Midi Madness! This app is now phenomenal, the midi options mean that you can sequence multiple apps from Beatmaker and tweak them in real time whilst running in parallel with the internal sounds and grooves that you create, awesome! It is nano studio and genome all rolled into one, and then some... If you haven't already got it, get it..Version: 2.2

Consider it the best MPC2000 w/o fxIt’s a fantastically robust sample playback tool if you want to use your iOS device as a hardware sample playback device. The effects/processing is atrocious, don’t expect to do any of that in BM2. As a sequencer for realtime recording w quantization, its about as good as any DAW. Pro feature is easy PCM (wav/aif) stem export! And easy import of giant wav/aif sample libraries via FTP! Quick assigning samples to MIDI notes. If you’ve got an external midi controller with pads, you can faithfully use BM2 to use it to do sample playback with velocity, pitch, etc. There’s a filter too and its not awful but I wouldn’t use it. BM3 is the wonderful upgrade fixing BM2’s pitfalls but unfortunately its iPad-only, no iPhone. I still use bm2 on iPhone to be able to play my custom sample library anywhere via midi. Not sure what else it’d be good for at this point..Version: 2.6.4

GreatGreat app but it would be cool if you could export to mp3 and it appears in your music library.Version: 2.1.2

Best iPhone/iPad app on the marketThis is by far the only app I will ever pay for, i think that it is missing a midi out, ie. using the drum pad or piano on a computer program such as ableton or fruity loops. Add this feature to the app and you will make millions. Why buy an Mpc when your iPad can do it.Version: 2.2

HelpHow the hell do you loop whilst recording? I'm so frustrated 😠😠😡.Version: 2.6.2

GreatOne of the best music production apps on the app store. Would be a five star app if we could add new synths, instruments and effects to the virtual setup, perhaps via in app purchases. The sampler keyboard on its own is a little bit limiting for melodic parts..Version: 2.2

Excellent!!! For pro’s only!!This app is flawless. It can only be limited by the specs of the iPhone. Beatmaker 2 is a dream come true. This is not for the beginner/FL Studio style user. This app is like Logic/Cubase/Sonar in your pocket. Full of drum machines, keyboards, and synths that can be completely customised for any type of music. Many added features and sound packs. MPC style sampling (my favorite), live recording anywhere via the iPhone/iPod/iPad internal mic, and easy file transfer via WiFi. Even post directly to SoundCloud I love this app. Much improved interface from the original Beatmaker. Beautiful full color interface (not just shades of green). Easy editing, navigation, piano roll, mixer, EQs, ADSR, LFOs, velocity, zones, filters,...you name it. Its here. It will even warn you when memory is low on your iOS device. So SAVE people, and close those background apps. Well done Intua. Keep up the great work. This is way better than any other iOS music app on the market..Version: 2.6.2

Please update for latest iOSThis was by far the best daw/drum pad/sampler for iPhone or iPad. BeatMaker 2 was far more intuitive then BeatMaker 3. I used BM2 for years on my iPhone until BM3. Bm3 just didn’t have the same feel. The UI was so much more friendly in BM2. Please updated BM2 or at least fix the Bluetooth. Thx you..Version: 2.6.4

My Main Audio AppBeen my go to since 2011. Does Beatmaker2 work with the new iPadOS? I want to upgrade but don’t want to loose support for BM2. BM3’s total rework has me confused like looking at a DAW I can’t manage to follow and I am heavy on learning from manuals. I simply became dependent on the workflow of BM2. Thanks for your continued support of this app- it made sell my MPC..Version: 2.6.4

Awesome appLove this app a lot 👍.Version: 2.5.6

Weapon of choiceThis is the music app I use the most. It works really well on the iPhone and iPad although I prefer to use it on the iPad. The workflow makes sense, it's easy to learn and has some great features. I also like the more minimalist approach to its design, it gives it an uncluttered feel and everything is clear. Although its not perfect, the effects for example are not the best, it's still excellent value for money and its had some amazing updates recently. Love it..Version: 2.3.1

Worthy Mobile StudioThis is like a mini version of reason. Seriously. It can do almost everything reason can do including automation and sampling. i don't think you can chop up and re-arrange loops like you can with recycle but its a worthy on the road equivalent..Version: 2.4

Good but needs improvementsIt should let you add more instruments without running out of battery, as well as recording things that can be added to your projects. Other then that it's a great app!.Version: 2.2

A good update.I reviewed Beatmaker 2 (on an iPhone 4) for a major UK music production magazine when it first came out. I thought it was great then and, having just tried the update on an iPad 2, I think it's still great. I certainly don't think the interface is badly implemented on the iPad as some other reviewers have asserted - quite the contrary, in fact. Nor have I encountered any of the reliability issues other users have reported (yet) so perhaps the problems are related to the OS or hardware versions? I'm running the latest on both devices and haven't had any issues. For me, the only downside to BM2 is that it doesn't have the same synthesis capabilities as NanoStudio. But then NS isn't as good for getting beats on the go, so for me it comes down to a question of whether you're a sample-head or a synth-head. I'm both, so I have both. Simples. ;-).Version: 2.1.1

Killing Those Lame MPC's LOLBack in business. The MPC is like what a tape player is to an iPod now lol. Beatmaker 2 is the 💩. 65GB's of sounds on my iPhone now on my 128GB. Hands down the best DAW. Just needs a way to hook up to a external hard drive or make a desktop version. Those that are complaining about factory sounds are idiots. Import your own sounds with FileZilla and the world awaits on your creativity. I'm laughing at those idiots that can't use simple software or watch tutorials to learn. You get what you put in and that goes for life. Update Totally dissatisfied with the wait of the BeatMaker 3 release date for the iPhone version. I now have a 256gb IPhone 8 Plus and feel so behind because I won’t buy a iPad just for one particular app. INTUA should not give dates to customers and not stand by it. I’m not going to lower the 5 star rating on bm2 because of this but not everyone wants to use a iPad to make music with as portability and the developers should’ve put more time into the iPhone version being that the iPad version has been out for so long. Truly disappointed..Version: 2.6.4

Kant Beat Beatmaker 2This is an absolutely great tool for music production, very capable indeed..Version: 2.4.4

Great, but...The app is the best in its category. Pretty quick and can process large number of simultaneous beats which is great. However there are couple of drawbacks. First of all, it is really complicated. The beginner will find it hard to navigate and use the full potential of an app. Most of the screens are overloaded with data and buttons, which is not attractive (although the quality of design elements is great). I would suggest making the design simplier (like in iMaschine app). Also the editing section is a bit puzzling as well. After GarageBand, people would expect it to be intuitive where here it is not that convenient. All in all app is great. Keep updating it frequently. Fulfills its price.Version: 2.3.1

ExcellentBeen looking for a good piece of software to make music on the iPad and then create on my home studio using professional software and hardware for a while. Nothing except beat maker 2 comes close. If it had a real soft synth rather than a sample based synth, I would give it 5 stars (although the samples provided are very good). User interface is easy and fluid..Version: 2.4.8

Great app from a great development teamAlthough I have reviewed BM2 before, I wish to say another big thanks to the whole team not only for producing an app of outstanding quality, but for showing their customers a great deal of consideration by continually improving and updating this already fantastic platform. The sampling is some of the most steamlined and convenient to use, and for this reason alone this app is worth the money. Easily one of the best DAWs on iOS, and i have tried many of the competitors. Thanks again team, love your work!.Version: 2.4.5

Update - dubstepWhen I bought this it was half price so it was worth the Money - Problems - Sometimes crashes with certain effects, Would be could if you could record with out the tempo making your songs all different to what you played the only way to fix this is to actually set the perfect tempo which is hard Also release dubstep with all the different types eg drums and all the different bass sounds - If you want to make dubstep on this I use the fx bass 1 with delay ( 64 - normal) at high tempo and a flanger Also with hip hop 7 drums Good app but make the update I said and will get higher ratings from every one .Version: 2.0.1

ExcellentVery comprehensive music app. Don't know what the guy that says it crashes all the time is talking about. I am not a developer or have any connections to the devs of this app. Can't wait for iPad update. Still works well on iPad 1 but native would be excellent..Version: 2.0

Beatmaker 2Having purchased a number of music making apps on the iTunes store including NanoStudio and played with them for a while now, I have to say this one is so far the best ive seen. Very easy to operate and within a short space of time I was generating music that I was happy with, I think its worth the money. Id give it 4 stars.Version: 2.0.1

BrilliantThis app is the most comprehensive hand-held production tool available on the App Store. If you're into making your own music, you'd be stupid not to buy this..Version: 2.5.4

Great app, but onboard sounds need workI've really been enjoying Beatmaker 2, except the onboard sounds and samples are really badly trimmed. I'd ceated a few tracks with it, but wondered why they sounded sloppy, even if I quantized them. Upon inspecting some of the samples, I noticed that all I looked at are badly trimmed with tiny gaps at the start. So much so that they could easily affect the timing and feel of a track. For drum samples it's not so bad, but seeing gaps at the start of the samples for keyboard sounds is frustrating. They're great sounds, but I'd rather not have to have to trim the start points on any I use. Apart from that, I have no complaints. Scales would be a nice addition to the keyboard though, like Garageband or Sampletank..Version: 2.2

Major improvement!!!!!The future is now. Yeah, it's apps like this Ive dreamed about and are now here. Awesome sketch pad for putting down tracks when away from the studio. Damn....this is becoming my studio! The workflow is so much better than ver.1,awesome! Thank you very much 11/10..Version: 2.0

I’ve used this app for 11 yearsIt keeps crashing and it won’t open and my heart is literally breaking, this is all I have.Version: 2.6.4

ItLet's start with negatives For the price, I think midi should be on the 1st release, nodoubt they'll add it - but if they don't then this app will sink like a stone, no matter how many bells and whistles they add. I've had a few problems with sound breakup, something i fear will get worse the more keyboards/drum machines/effects you add. I've also experienced a few crashes (if you've bought nano studio, the guy prides himself on a perfect program it's not once crashed on me) No built in manual, why? surely it can be hard to add 10 pages of help, NanoStudio's help system is brilliant and even includes pictures. Navigation, maybe it's me, but I find it still hard to navigate arround, something that killed Beatmaker 1 for me. Positives Samples are realy great, some really nice sounds on both drum and keyboard. the only one possitive over NanoStudio Effects, though I've not use all of them, the effects rack is pretty neat. Overall Add a Manual inside Add Midi.Version: 2.0

10AcioussBest music creating app ive ever come across for iphone. When I was flying to Australia I created a demo with my own samples I loaded in beatmaker 2 with the onboard drum machines and keyboards. I showed the person next to me n her jaw dropped. Hi five.Version: 2.1.1

Simply le bestI have a bunch of music apps for the iPhone and iPad. This one is, in my opinion, by far the most complete and best all round studio app for serious music producers. It integrates incredibly well with my other programs and I am currently using it as my main composing tool. Long story short, it's f$&@*%g awesome!!! Congrats!!!.Version: 2.3

Love the Audio Tracks!!!Absolutely love this app! The addition of Audio Tracks really turned Beatmaker into a complete studio!.Version: 2.3.1

Anger about a great appAll apps have imperfections. As it turns out beatmaker does not seem to have many that I am aware of. How can anyone be so foolish to give 1 star for having issues with Dropbox and have nothing else to say. What about the fact that the rest of the app is amazing. Why be so dumb to screw up the ratings for people looking for good apps. They see only 3 stars because of stupid reviews like that and end up buying a useless app that no one bothers to review. The bottom line is that if you want an app that is 100% perfect then wait another 1000 years because it does not exist now. If you want one of the better apps out there then buy beatmaker 2. It's a winner. I wonder why that bozo didn't email the developer first..Version: 2.5.6

Great app, please HELP!I brought two in app purchases (Midnight R&B and west coast anthology) how do I use the sounds from them??.Version: 2.5.6

The bestBest daw out there. No need to pay for extra pluggin. Everything is up right here. Better than Impc, imaschine and all the electribe.Version: 2.4.7

#MIKE.BSingle greatest download of all time..Version: 2.5.4

ExcellentAn excellent music creation app. Surprisingly cheap for the amount of features it offers. The interactivity with other apps is excellent especially WIST and the integration with dropbox..Version: 2.2

Best music making appVery nice app for learners, intermediate and pros..Version: 2.4

One of the best... my personal favourite. As far as 'm u s i c - r e l a t e d' Apps go, エ pretty much have them all... be them 'mini-studios' like this or 'digi-synths'... if it's half decent, I've got it. Everyone has there favourite. I know this isn't the most recently released studio app, but it's the one I've used the most. Don't get me wrong, there isn't one single App on iPad that will fully compare to a decent PC digital studio, but when you want to just mess about with some ideas or are just feeling creative then this App will NOT let you down. It's a c o o l App and defo' gets my seal-of-approval..Version: 2.5.6

AwesomeThis is a fantastic application, though it is a little frustrating that while the slider automation records fine, there is NO automation for the mute buttons (which is surprising as every DAW has this ability). Would also like to be able to re-order the sequencer tracks and export to mp3. If they get this sorted it's a five star app! But PLEASE include mute automation in your next update :).Version: 2.1.1

Best app out!!This app packs a real punch!! It's a full scale studio and the interface is super user friendly. I like the options it has and can't wait to see what new features are yet to come. Well worth the 9.99 spent no doubt!!.Version: 2.6.2

THE Only/Best Music prod. app!!! WOW!!Its truly a DAW, studio on your phone, No joke, most all features of a top music app. Im talking like Ableton, or or Logic Pro. typ eof studio, on your phone!! Seriously! Please INTUA, never stop making updates for the IOS. please..Version: 2.6.4

Give it a little timeThis is a truly excellent app. When I first installed it, I have to say I found it a little hard to get into.. But after sticking with it a couple of sessions it's one of the best music program's I've used for sample based music. Fun and indeed logic. All the features you would look for, and the touch screen makes it a breeze. Worth the coin!!.Version: 2.2

Great app! This is the closest thing to Ableton or Pro Tools I 'very found on the iPhone. With Audiobus it allows me to run three input apps as we as take two inputs from my Line 6 Sonic Port. My only criticism is that the internal effects look and sound like stuff that was around in the very early days of DAW's. So there's room for improvement there. But the Intua guys are quick to respond to questions and open to suggestions. Which is great..Version: 2.5

A must haveCan't wait for BM3. Does a lot of great musical things, especially on the percussion side. I just find the folders for samples thing a bit confusing at times. Plays well with almost every other app in the iOS music space. Just fantastic. 😄.Version: 2.5.6

Perfect app, except one thingAs an experienced electronic musician, Beatmaker 2 is the perfect iPod tool. The sound malleability would be beyond impressive on any platform. However, there are bugs in the file sharing menu. The app will not allow me to change file folders to choose which sounds I'd like to export. This means that the Soundcloud, and the pasteboard file sharing options are all currently useless, since I can't access the songs I created. The wifi file sharing doesn't work either; my computer's web browser just endlessly tries to load up the page with no result. So, until the file transfer bugs are fixed, this app is more an entertaining musical toy than a real musical instrument..Version: 2.0

Beat Maker 2I have been using Beat maker 2 since around 2014. I have had no issues with the program and some of my best tracks were created with this program. My biggest issue is recording vocals (which CAN be done) but there are few ways to get a professional mic hooked to an iPad. This is no fault of BM2. I am about to purchase 3 but 2 still does everything I need. Because of the age of the app, I can no longer purchase sound packs. Worth getting. No question. UMP.Version: 2.6.4

BESTBESTBEST_OUTOUTOUTBeatMaker takes off where Akai lacks...By far the best app for Mobile music production out. I love the Drum machine plus the sounds are great. You can import your own sounds and export to take your production to even higher levels. You can get your idea out anytime, anywhere. I have been waiting on 3 forever it seems however I can continue to wait. So excited!!!!!!!!.Version: 2.6.2

GoogCan you please integrate all the function of the Akai synthstation 49. The pads at the left and the control at the right are not doing anything. Thanks.Version: 2.3.1

Best DAW ever!I’ve been using BM2 since 2011 (started on the iPhone 4) and til this day I make the majority of my beats in this app. I went from Fantom S keyboard to Reason 5 to BeatMaker 2. I rarely use Reason today except to add on to beats I’ve already made on my phone. I mostly sample in BM2 for melodies (it’s sooo easy to chop and manipulate samples on the fly compared to Reason’s “Recycle” companion) I very rarely use the stock instruments in BM2 other than to reference melodies but with FX like “Filter” and “Equalizer” I’ve gotten some pretty cheesy stock sounds to sound pretty dope within a mix. If I need to, I’ll just export the MIDI and import the beat’s MIDI into the Reason 5 DAW to swap sounds from my vast collection of “Refills” (Reason’s version of VST’s/plugins.) I sequence/mix in Pro Tools for ease, but this can very well be done right inside the BM2 app or even other compatible iOS DAW’s (like Multitrack DAW, which is my fav for referencing vocals and rough draft ideas) I almost don’t need a computer or laptop! This app has never let me down! Well once, a file wouldn’t open and it still won’t til this day but this was in 2011, it hasn’t happened since. Best $20 I ever invested and I think it’s only like $10 now. Can’t beat it..Version: 2.6.4

Awesome!This app is great.Version: 2.1.1

Perfectly awesomeEverything you need to create your own beats and import beats and lay down solid tracks two thumbs up.Version: 2.4.8

Easy to use and lots of functionalityI've only played around for a couple of hours but the app seems stable with no crashes yet. IMHO this app is fairly easy to navigate and the learning curve reasonable if you have prior experience of DAWs. I'm really quite impressed by the depth of functionality offered here and do not find the asking price unreasonable..Version: 2.0.1

Awesome!!Great app :-) so easy to use.. Would be a lot more helpful if you could make it so that you can convert music to mp3 though!!.Version: 2.4.8

I can dig it!Best $20 I spent on the App Store yet!!.Version: 2.6.0

Great updateUpdated: another amazing update can't wait to mess with all the new stuff. Thanks for your continued support of this app and iOS musicians. Thanks for an awesome update Intua! Now I can connect BM to sunrizer and animoog. Great work on additional functions too. Keep it up. Thanks again..Version: 2.3

Won’t open - keeps crashingEvery time I go to open the app it shows the loading page then instantly crashes and I’m back to my Home Screen. Looks like this been a problem for a minute I would of thought yall would of addressed this issue the 1st time yall started reading you’re customers problems but it’s unfortunately not happening. Please fix this issue so we can all do our thang with no issues.Version: 2.6.4

Great DAWLike it a lot! Many features : very deep for an app!.Version: 2.5.6

The bestNow that we got Ableton link this the best.Version: 2.6.1

GreatI love this app, I find it really easy to use, I just wish you could turn off the snap to grid in the piano roll as I tend to really fine tune the swing of the drums manually, I know you can make the division smaller but it would be easier if you could just turn it off. Aside from that I love it.Version: 2.4.7

The best MPC-like tool on iOSWhile I've toyed with several iOS music apps none really did what I wanted, which is I suppose, a sampling drum machine and a bit more... Something a bit like an Akai MPC on iOS. That's why, for me, Beatmaker beats things like Nanostudio. You do need to read some tutorials before diving in ... A few things aren't obvious even if you are a music software veteran but, while not immediately intuitive, once you've learned a few keys things it's great to work with. If you are using it on iPhone you may be tempted to buy an iPad as clearly the bigger screen would benefit the app..Version: 2.5.4

Love itThis app is amazing. The depth of functionality continues to amaze me. I spend many hours traveling and using this tool to work on ideas while on the plane is great. Any synth and sample sounds you wish to work with, extract them from your sample collection, import them in and away you go, add effects, add a bus, more effects, program the effect parameters in real time...all on an iPad. The only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 is because of a few stability issues. I work around that with frequent saving. A small price to pay to have so much functionality at my finger tips. I am constantly surprised this does not get more rave reviews. I think it might be because it is an iPhone app and not iPad. But I use it in x2 mode on iPad and it's great. In previously tried garage band, but it doesn't even come close to this app for working on electronic music. Keep it coming!.Version: 2.0.1

Incredible! The new update has taken this into the stratosphere! It was a great app before, now with the addition in particular of audio tracks, this has got to be the all round star DAW for the iPad. It's incredible what you get with this app. Very few apps are a "must buy", in my opinion this is one of the few. Wonderful..Version: 2.3

Very good appVery full on app. Very versatile and so easy to use. So much fun.Version: 2.0

Still Born says yes.The improvements from Beatmaker 1 are huge. I just used the chop shop and that's all I had to do before rating. 20 bucks seemed like a lot, then I realized I dropped 100 on a night out the other day. These are the apps and developers I want to support. This app destroys Akai's and NanoStudio. Cant wait do dig into the rest of the interface, so its time to dip. 6 stars..Version: 2.0

Absolute genius! If you know anything about beat making you'll love this Great music has been created on less capable equipment! Beatmaker 2 has more than enough features! This is the one to get! Simple! Forget Nano Studio and all the others!.Version: 2.4.8

Long time userYou can see the popularity of apps by the number of reviews they have. Don't know why Beatmaker has so few. I have all the major music making apps and love KORG Gadget's various synth & drum gadgets. Probably the best out there now. But if you want to make a complete, full fat, bells and whistles tune which you could release for sale, made on an iPad, you've got to use Beatmaker 2. It's the best all round proper studio on iPad these days with all the sample packs available boosting sound content. Loads of FX, including insert FX, bloody accurate sampler which is unlimited if you can do a bit of maths to navigate around it's actual limits regarding pasting sections. The most accurate time stretcher out there. Shouldn't of taken two and a half years to write a review IAA and audiobus works perfectly..Version: 2.5.4

Please help.I been using this app for two years and I upgraded to iPhone 8 plus and the drum pads are not aligned properly. Please fix!.Version: 2.6.2

I love this app.Can you guys update Beatmaker 2 and optimize it for the newer devices and people who like the simplicity of Beatmaker 2 and don’t necessarily want to use Beatmaker 3? Also, can you add a simple gain and noise gate for Beatmaker 3?.Version: 2.6.4

Unrivaled WorkflowVery solid. On board fx are ok but workflow is incredible and quick..Version: 2.5.6

One of the best music making apps!As titled, this is one of the best music making apps so far! However, in my opinion what would make it better is: - New synths and instruments, with a new collection of presets. - More Fx, to improve on the current ones and.. - The ability to use more than 3 on one channel. (And yes I know it isnt like a Pro DAW and that more fxs on a channel can lag/slow down the memory...but if that could be improved too that would be awesome.).Version: 2.4.5

Always impressiveA lot of other apps build the interface so that you’re more inclined to buy sample packs than produce your own samples. This app allows you to record and edit your samples effortlessly. It has all the tools you would need to produce proper songs..Version: 2.6.4

The bestThis is the best beat making app of them all, you can seriously do pretty much everything with it. The only other app that comes close is nano studio and that's more synth based..Version: 2.2

DOPE!!!As an aspiring producer, this is great to start off with! It has all the key feature to get you familiar with the basics of music production, I love the chop lab!!!!! I wud give it 5 stars, but on the sampling side It is somewhat limiting. However for an iPhone or iPad, what more cu you ask for!!.Version: 2.1.2

BeatMaker 2Genius App. I don't really know what to make of this app, I know it's called Beat Maker but its much more then that. One of its wonders is being able to control all effects parameters using midi as well as a piano roll editor. And the way it deals with samples is amazing allowing you to time stretch and pitch change and edit/slice all within the app. You can assign different sounds to different keys on its internal virtual keyboard plus it has a drum pad that allows you to assign any sample to the pads and there's like 16*16 of them. I could be here all day trying to describe its features. It's pure genius..Version: 2.4.8

Thanks intua! This app still amazing after all of these years!! Brings life to the old iPad 2 and holds up just fine on the iPad Pro! Original post: for giving birth to the original iOS app revolution. you showed us all what iOS could do. Now, you're doing all over again! awesome!.Version: 2.6.4

GrandThis app is by far the best that is out on the apple market It comes with everything you need from start to finish to complete beats Beat maker 2 is all you need.Version: 2.5.1

The sound store won’t work !Hey I’ve been trying to get the sound store to work and it has not. You guys have decent kits but how can I use this app without those kits? Please give me some info on how to get the sound store to work. It’s just be a black screen every time I click on it. Thanks....Version: 2.6.4

Need an update for iPhone X, Xs, & Xs MaxThis app desperately needs an update for the later models of iPhone since BeatMaker 3 is only comparable for iPad. Immediately!! My beats are bouncing out off tempo and I really would like to record over what I hear on the maker vs the bounced product it is inconsistant..Version: 2.6.4

Beat maker 2It is pretty good but heeps of sounds don't work and it says I'm out of memory and I don't know. How to clear it..Version: 2.5.9

The clue is in the nameMany have compared beat maker 2 to nanostudio. While I agree that ns is a better all in one music making program, bm2 is far superior for beat making. The sample chopping tools are the best on ios in my opinion and the options for velocity, muting, pitching, gating, playback, fx etc on the drum pads are well designed for performance. Also, bm2 has a great sequencer, very similar to ns, but it's ace up the sleeve is the ability to sync and drive other apps via virtual midi and wist. With audiobus just round the corner, bm2 will be able to record those apps too. Overall I would highly recommend getting both this and nanostudio. Both are utterly indispensable IMHO..Version: 2.4.2

Stonkingly good !!Just loaded this onto the ipad - brilliant, just brilliant. I've only scratched the surface, but already it'll be used not only for ideas that may or may not get transferred to Able Live or Reason but for standalone tracks straight onto Soundcloud. Everything works perfectly - transferring files onto the Mac, and saving into Dropbox. Again, brilliant..Version: 2.3

Best investment of my life!I was a young lost 15 year old. Let’s just say this app came in clutch!.Version: 2.6.4

Yo!I’ve owned MPC’s since the beginning, but ended up producing an entire album with this app, back in like 2015. It was starting to act up on my 2020 iPad Pro and iPhone 12 Pro max, but I’m glad they decided to put out an update so late in the game. I’d go so far as to pay for future updates of BM2, even though I bought BM3 on day one. Love you guys. Thank you for showing us some love..Version: 2.6.4

AwesomeI really like this app c: it is quite complex but you will learn and get used to it :).Version: 2.4.5

Favorite DAWBM2 is this best DAW in the App Store for Hip-Hop/Rap & Trap production. Interested to see what BM3 will be. Been a rapper for years but started causal production about a year ago to become more self sufficient and stop trying to find people who have studios or make beats(which if you've been in my position you know how much a headache that is🤕)invested over $1500 in a laptop,FL Studio 12,Studio One and an entire home studio set up. Felt overwhelmed and this hindered my creativity. Life happened and I had to sell my keyboard and laptop but in that time came up on a iPad Pro and purchased every major DAW in the App Store(Auria,Cubasis,FLM3,GB & BM2) for a fraction of the price of any major computer DAW(btw) and find myself making more music at higher quality in BM2 & GB(GarageBand being more limiting) on the iPad than I was on my laptop with over $1000 worth of programs..Version: 2.6.2

Oh. My. God.For some reason, the first BeatMaker was so way ahead of its time that it almost seemed like it was running on a different system than all other iPhone apps. It's been a long wait, but this absolutely tops it. NanoStudio is still incredible and - to me - superior in (synth)sound quality and easy handling, but the variety and the possibilities of BeatMaker 2 are just endless... Looking forward to looong journeys (and an extra battery pack) now!.Version: 2.0

PLEASE FIX THIS!For some reason, after quitting this app, the sound and vibrations on my phone do not work. I don't hear or feel calls or texts after making music and the only way I have worked out how to fix it, is to reboot my phone which is very annoying because I shouldn't have to do this and don't want to anymore. Please please please fix this as I otherwise think this is the best app in the app store..Version: 2.2

Worth the do$h:Everything is awesome really, it does crash but it's not frequent enough to make a big point of, maybe if I'd just lost something in the last moment I'd be more ticked off?.Version: 2.0.1

Very good app.Speaking as an amateur musician, I can say that this app is really quite good. However, I was looking for something that would let me produce eletronica-type tracks. BeatMaker 2 can do this very well, but I think NanoStudio is better for this type of music. BeatMaker 2 seems especially designed for rap/hip-hop beats, or for other types of music that use sampling frequently..Version: 2.0

AmazingI have been using this for about 6 years. Such an impressive piece of mobile software. I have made many tracks in it and am almost finished an album made entirely in BM2. So good. I love pulling my phone out in the park on a hot sunny day, or sitting on a bus with time to kill, and making beats. Looking forward to trying BM3 when I buy an iPad pro in the new year. Congrats to the Intua team on a job well done..Version: 2.6.2

Really usefulNow it has some synthesis modulation options, it has become much more creatively useful. To get the most out of it I suspect I'll have to start importing my own set of multi sampled instruments. Have been enjoying it more lately with geo synthesiser via midi bridge. Having background audio makes it the most effective virtual midi controllable daw I have. Hope the next update makes this more obvious for more users..Version: 2.1.2

I USE THIS ON STAGE!Okay people complain about the pre-sets but truly i'm not finding anything out there with pre-sets especially on an iPhone that are perfect. Honestly you can input any sounds or midi files..wave files. I use this program to push beats through a whole schwack of filters so really it doesn't matter to me how good or bad pre-sets are. I find pre-sets on most things sucky anyways. That said the 808 and the 909 in Beatmaker seems to do me good enough. What I love this program for is to make and arrange beats. I can do a lot on my phone while i'm on a dog walk or on a bus or a helicopter. I do it everywhere. Compose whole tracks that I later use with a larger set up. I can export audio or even midi files that I can use with different samples later… i don't really find the synths very usable. It's a drum machine for me!! I like that you can utilize other music programs with in the context of a track….. for example "track 2 can be bebop or some other 3rd party synth or drum machine" It's great. I wish there was an easy way to attach a midi keyboard to a phone..(maybe there is?) I can't imagine having a creative process without this tool..Version: 2.5.9

Best App!This app is great, definitely worth the price, and to those who have problems with iPod imports, after it crashes, just launch it again and load yourchosen import, simple.Version: 2.1.2

INTUA's amazing!2 days ago I was complaining about the lack of Dropbox functionality. Today INTUA released an update fixing this issue. WOW! This company's great! Always on top! Nobody deserved the $20 more than them. Keep it up guys!.Version: 2.4

A Classic! That this app works all the way down to an iPad 1g AND and iPhone is amazing. Additionally, it edits midi better than BM3. In 2025 when the BM 3.1 update hits maybe it will edit audio and midi as well and this ancient app from the same devs..Version: 2.6.4

The best sequencer on iOSYou won't find a better or more feature packed sampler and sequencer in the app store. Fun to work with, quick to learn, full of interesting capabilities..Version: 2.2

Good butIt's an amazing app. The pads used like an mpc which is really easy to set up and stuff. Only problem I have, after chopping the samples, when I go to save my sample the app freezes and glitches out. The sample still saves but when it saves the app just exits. Needs a fix, but otherwise great app :DD Love it!.Version: 2.3

What a brilliant programOh this is such a brilliant program. It offers much more than synth station, chews less than garage band has decent sounds (music studio, go back to the drawing board) and is worth every cent and more. A must buy..Version: 2.1.1

Best App!This has to be the best music app on my iPhone!!!! Love it!! My sample beats are getting better 'cause I have more control over the samples on the pads than I ever did using FL studio & the PC keyboard, lol! Plus my PC at the time... couldn't hold as many synths without snap, cracking & popping with mass latency problems...!! Can't wait till I get another iPad :D 5 stars from me *****.Version: 2.4.8

Update pleaseI enjoy using this app ! I’ve been using it since 2017. I’m currently back and forth between DAWs, and I would love for you guys to update this app. Unfortunately the store on the DAW isn’t coming up, I’m trying to restore my purchases on my new iPad. The Dropbox won’t allow me to transfer some sounds over and it’s really difficult. Could you please help with that ? Please update.Version: 2.6.4

Significant improvement neededThat one improvement that is essential is to be able to DELETE FILES. If i come out with a bad song I want to delete it, not turn it into another song because I don't have any ideas at the moment so please please add a delete function.Version: 2.2

Good app but could be Great!I always use this app for the mic quality and layering up vocal hook ideas etc, it's a brilliant lil music sequencer as well as a beat program however the keyboard sounds could be more options and choices and better sounds. Other than that a good app to have..Version: 2.5.6

Drum machine transpose/auditionIf you chop up a sample and spread the chops over one or more banks, the transpose function becomes very irritating. Rather than toggling between the 'multi' button, the transpose shifter and pads, I would like to be able to transpose all pads in all banks with simple + / - buttons AND audition the pads at the same time. At the moment you can only do either or (for multiple pads). Everything else is great..Version: 2.4.2

Luv the appIs there a way to make this application compatible for the Macbook Pro? I wish there a way to fix the Dropbox connection, it doesn't even recognize Dropbox even if you allow connection..Version: 2.6.4

Is That An MPC In Your Pocket?BeatMaker 2 is far more than a simple version update from it's predecessor (BeatMaker, which interestingly enough, is not entirely made obsolete by the release of this app - in fact, the two work together extremely well). Whilst the original BeatMaker is a surprisingly versatile music creation app, you'll still want a decent desktop music app to put any noticeable polish on it's output. BeatMaker 2, on the other hand, has gone ahead and taken the desktop out of the equation! Yes, post-production on a dedicated workstation is always great but with BeatMaker 2 you can produce very robust-yet-polished loops and songs right on your iPhone or iPad. There seems to be no input method left behind (except for the camera, of course) - you can record a sound clip using your iOS device, select a section of a song already stored in iTunes, or just go to town cutting and splicing the vast selection of loops, samples and instruments included in the app itself (there really are some wicked sounds in there, no matter what your musical taste is) ! Then you can use the 16-pad drum machine and full-keyed keyboard (or two) to put some live flavor into the mix. It's worth noting that even on the small screen of my iPhone 3GS I manage to lay down far more intricate rhythms using the onscreen touch-sensitive trigger pads than I can manage on any of my MPCs. BeatMaker 2 is everything and more that you could want from a desktop studio and it's more than enough to lay down some intricate inspiration no matter where you are and fine-tune it later without ever hitting the power button on your desktop computer. What's more, whether you're a seasoned music veteran or completely new to the world of music, BeatMaker 2 will have you cranking out some sweet beats and melodies in no time! What I've covered in this brief review is just a portion of what BeatMaker 2 can do: realtime effects, tuning, multi-triggers and an incredibly powerful and intuitive sequencer all remain to be discovered! Simply put, until you can fit an iMac into your back pocket, BeatMaker 2 will be the ultimate in portable music creation for a long time to come! I can think of no other app that showcases the true power and versatility of the iOS product line-up than BeatMaker 2 from Intua..Version: 2.0

Very promisingThis is a big improvement to the original BreatMaker, and comes with a huge sound library that is mostly really good. Has been stable for me on an iPhone 4, and on an iPad. Probably the only app to support MultiSampling (the technique required to realistically sample your own instrument by taking samples across the key range.) It's not my favorite creation app, but it's one of the top three now, and well worth a look. With NanoStudio, Music Studio as Beat Maker 2, these iDevices easily replace dedicated hardware I had for years, quite incredible really. Great results are indeed possible!.Version: 2.0

Great app but crashesIt's an awesome app but it needs an update with the iOS 9 installed. Otherwise awesome. I'm just missing my creations cuz I can't boot it up. Please fix guys.Version: 2.5.6

Fantastic! Finally the app I wanted. Sure you need to read the manual, search for tutorials and even email support - but it rocks. I was finally able to import midi files into an app, hook it up (virtually) to BS-16i which was loaded with sound fonts, and then feed into Harmonic Dog's Multitrack DAW, and add live guitar using Ampkit. The midi ease of use is what sets it apart. It allows backing tracks to be quickly done, and customized. The sounds it comes with seem pretty good too, so maybe you don't need BS-16i, but overall - Fantastic!.Version: 2.5.4

Solid appI'm really feelin this app. Reminds me a lot of reason which I'm really used to in making my beats. Only problem I'm having is seeing a time bar? I see the frames and bars of the track in general but no time frame? I shouldn't have to have a timer at the hip just to see the length of y track..Version: 2.4.5

I take it all backAfter re-installing this app it works great. The new midi features are very special and at this point unique to beat maker. This app is the one to watch. The virtual midi options turn this into the first proper DAW for iOS. Very special. The Dropbox option also allows for collaboration without the need of other devices for file sharing. Truly brilliant ..Version: 2.2
