PodCruncher Podcast Player for Positive User Reviews

I like Pod CruncherEasy to use and download episodes of the shows I like. Episodes play in the car without any issues, great app..Version: 3.7

Always make me pull through my daySimple platform. Easy to use and navigate. Love the wifi restriction and how easy it is to add/delete/search fot podcasts. The region selection for top podcasts is also awesome. It allowed me to select specific podcasts that are from different countries. Thanks for this awesome app!.Version: 3.2

PodCruncher is aceI love it more than my favourite cockerel..Version: 3.7

Slick and effective.Works a treat..Version: 3.2

Best podcast app out thereI’ve used many podcast apps on iOS and none of them have a sane approach to playlists. They all do something weird at some point. Podcruncher has a simple and easy to use playlist system that I love. It just works. Thanks for a great app!!.Version: 3.7

Was the bestWas truly an excellent app but now not updating. It repeatedly pauses when synced to my car via Bluetooth. Cant use it anymore.Version: 3.7

5 monthsI've been using this about 5 months, before that I was using iTunes and the default player. The best thing is the extra control such as more playback speeds. The most annoying thing is that it tends to download a podcast but not be able to play it. It happens most often on networks in hotels for some reason. Even at the house though it can occur occasionally. There should be a way to redownload those. They can be selected and sent to the queue but the queue will then remove them since it will not download already downloaded podcasts. There needs to be a check when items are added to the queue that retries if the podcast is invalid. I would also suggest an additional option for controlling the total amount of flash reserved for all podcasts. Definitely pleased with it besides the above issues. (Updated) A few times a week when the player finishes one podcast and switches to a new one, there will be silence. The podcast is playing but is muted. Usually it recovers and starts playing after 30 seconds or so. If you change the playback speed, jump backward, or the volume, then it un-mutes. Different podcasts have different volumes. Under iTunes you can select to have the podcasts volume leveled which helps somewhat. During playback a few times a week the volume will decrease suddenly, if you jump back and forward this usually fixes it..Version: 3.2

This is just what Apple should have provided.UPDATE: I still find this app to be more convenient than Apple’s native podcast player, mostly because of its useful customizable features that can be applied to all podcasts or to specific ones. I listen to news shows and like that I can speed all of them up automatically. Also, the filter features make it simple to sort and select what I want to download. My wishlist for options was added, except for videos only playing in landscape mode. But, after using this app daily for years, the only change that I’d like is to have the opening screen be the downloaded podcasts. I rarely add new podcasts, so it doesn’t make sense to open up on the subscriptions page every time. All in all, this is the app that Apple SHOULD HAVE written. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I came looking for a podcast app only after Apple destroyed its own with horrible implementation of iCloud. This app has common sense defaults, plus its customizable functions give you easy, one-screen options. I'm pleased with most of its features. Some things to improve, 1. Inability to mark multiple podcasts played or to eliminate from the download list. 2. Background playing sometimes has glitches where podcasts turn off suddenly. 3. Video casts can only be seen in landscape mode..Version: 3.7

BrilliantCan't find any faults with this app. Saved me from daily iTunes syncs..Version: 3.2

By Far The Best Podcast AppI've tried a few podcast apps but none of them worked the way I wanted. This one did. My issue was having trouble with the ease of marking multiple episodes of shows as something I've already played. All other apps were buggy and just reset my lists constantly. PodCruncher did not. I was able to easily mark previous episodes and it's kept them in check for the 5+ months I've been using it. The only issue I have is sometimes the app does crash and/or doesn't play the episode I've been listening to. But a quick app restart fixed it. Hopefully they'll fix that with an update soon..Version: 3.2

The player my podcasts deserve!I’ve been searching for so long for a podcast player which suits me and the way I listen to podcasts. I’ve tried so many podcast apps, paid and free. The PodCruncher app is super fast, super easy to navigate, super clean, and I love it. It has all the features I was looking for, including smart podcast playlists so I can see which episodes are unplayed and which podcast have new episodes etc, importing of subscriptions from other apps, subscribe by URL (great for my Patreon subscriptions), customisable default and per podcast settings, to name but a few. Absolutely worth the £2.99 I paid for this app!.Version: 3.7

Best podcast APP on the market!I love this APP. I use it 2 to 4 hours a day. I subscribe to a whole range of podcasts from News, Politics, Business, Tech, Science, Movies, Radio Theatre, Cultural, Educational and Comedy. PodCruncher is the most comprehensive podcast APP on the market. It allows me to control selection, downloads, storage, organization, replay, offline use and sharing content better than any other APP. They have build in the most intuitive and subtle options you can imagine. As a user for over 6 years I give it my highest rating..Version: 3.7

Dark ThemeThe best podcast app I’ve found - everything works smoothly and as it should do - only big down side for me if that there’s no dark theme for it..Version: 3.7

Well laid out and very intuitive!Does everything you need from a Podcast player, if I could ask for on feature it would be to play the podcast episodes from oldest to newest. If this is already possible I'd love to find out how 😀 Great app - recommended!.Version: 3.2

Finally found a good one.I listen to podcasts every day and I have literally tried them all. I was never able to find one that did everything I needed. Some have a clunky interface. Some don't have playlists. What? How can you not have playlists? Some are subscription. Just no. This one does everything you need with a few minor quirks. I love the playlists. You can make your own but it also has smart playlists. Last episode of each, starred, recent, etc. Rearranging the order of the list in various ways is appreciated and swiping to go forward or back across the screen is a nice feature. Most importantly thank you for not following the subscription model. Some minor suggestions. I would request some type of "Podcasts Like this one" feature for exploring similar podcasts. Also clicking on the podcast title should show information instead of starting it. It feels more natural than having to click 2 extra times for show notes. Thank you for a great app..Version: 3.7

Good all round podcast playerDoes most things well. Loses a star as it does not automatically restart downloads when it reconnects to wi-fi..Version: 2.2

Saved! After Apple twice updated their podcast app & I could still not listen to anything, I was tearing my hair out! I wish I has discovered this app earlier. Stable & with far more features, this is what Apple's app should be!.Version: 3.2

Great AppHad this app for a while now & use it regularly. Never had any problems with it and I find it very easy to use. The only slight grumble I have is that it lists every podcast available and not just the ones I have downloaded meaning there is a massive list! But all in all a great easy to use app..Version: 2.2

The perfect podcast app!Look no further for the app you'll never think twice about using for controlling your podcasting habits.Version: 3.2

Great podcast appLove this app - no streaming issues, clear audio, easy search function as well as various browsing options..Version: 3.2

Almost perfect, but NEEDS AN UPDATEUpdate: Ok seriously. I love this app and use it exclusively for my 80+ subscriptions, but it's seriously high time for an update. Original review: This app finally convinced me to jump ship on all other podcast apps because it's almost perfect, but it hasn't been updated for the iPhone 6/6+ yet, so there are some funny little visual quirks that make it less than ideal. An update for the visuals, more control over speed variation, and a way to listen to only the audio in video episodes, and this app would be literally perfect. Enjoy!.Version: 3.2

Love itIt has playlists that work like the old Apple podcast app, on the go and customized. I listen to episodes multiple times and don't want them to just disappear. I also happy, the app works great (this was the 3rd one I had tried).Version: 3.2

Significantly easier to manage than Apple PodcastsStreamlined and more intuitive than Apples offering..Version: 3.7

Best Podcasting App I've found!Easy to use; allows me to subscribe to all my favourite podcasts & I love being able to download episodes & play them whenever I want without Internet access! Simply great!.Version: 2.2

Great appI’m enjoying this. I have a list of about 30 casts I listen to and PodCruncher let’s me organise downloads and playing order simply.Version: 3.3

Excellent & DependableUsed it for years. Able to make smart folders..Version: 3.7

Excellent!!A great podcast app. Highly recommended..Version: 3.2

Love this app! (But...)This is *by far* my favorite podcast app with all the features I really like. For example, one pull down from the main page refreshes all my subscriptions. And being able to continuously stream all episodes of a video podcast with no intervention (or cleanup of downloads). Absolutely love it. I’ve been trying many different podcast apps recently just to keep current on their updates and what’s out there... so frustrating, always love coming home to PodCruncher! Now with this version of the app it gets even snappier, the fonts look better, and landscape video works in iOS 11! Keep up the great work folks! iPhone X update: the only problem with this app is that the “swipe up bar” at the bottom of videos never go away! This is just annoying. And I’ve asked nicely to have this fixes a few times and the app has been updated multiple times and this issue remains. Dropping my rating to 4 stars..Version: 3.7

Oilers NOW!Great little App is this, I've been able to easily find my favourite sports talk radio shows from Canada. Downloading and playing their daily podcasts could not be easier! Thoroughly recommend! 😜.Version: 3.2

Best overallThis is the best overall podcast app I’ve found on IOS, however there’s no search feature within podcasts -which means you have to scroll until the end of time to find an old podcast you’re looking for. I’ve also emailed the developers a few times and have not heard a response. The pros: - intuitive and easy to use queuing feature - multiple ways of creating playlists as well as “smart playlists” that are based on pre-set conditions - user friendly and aesthetically pleasing interface - sleep timer, speed adjustment (tho only at intervals of 25%) Cons - no search feature within subscribed podcasts - no skip silence, and overly large rate control options.Version: 3.7

Love it but small recent bug is driving me crazyHey guys, love this app. I've used it for over a year, and besides it occasionally crashing or refusing to load a podcast, requiring restart, it's awesome. Lately though there's a little bug that's annoying. The search bar in the "Add" screen (little plus sign) displays directly overtop of the All/Title/Author toggle. You can't really read it and it's difficult to search. Also, and this isn't a bug so much as an annoyance: if the search bar could auto-clear after returning to it from elsewhere in the app, that'd be great. Usually I hit the plus sign and "search" and start typing so quickly I don't even realize I'm typing at the end of my last search phrase, and I have to take the time to clear the search bar and retype. It's a little thing but it's annoying for someone who uses the app on a daily basis..Version: 3.2

Great productI love this app. Wish it updated a little more often but it’s hard to improve on perfection.Version: 3.7

Finally!Perfect at last. Far better than every other podcasting app I've used. Absolutely worth it..Version: 1.9.2

Works greatWorks great.Version: 3.2

So far awesomeWay better than the crashing apple app!!!.Version: 3.7

THE BEST.Long time user. Years. Love your updates! Love the attention to details. Love that I can now organize the shows in a list. Only thing it’s missing for me is a “night mode”. My eyes ache at the white screen when I go to change podcasts in bed. I’d just like to be able to switch it to an all over black background anytime I need to. Which might even be always :) I would never knock a star off for not having this though. This app is just so good. Trapped on a desert island I’d want 1. My pocket computer. 2. Podcruncher app..Version: 3.7

Love itGreat app.Version: 3.7

Far, Far Better Than Apple's Podcasts AppI decided to write a review when I thought about how horrifying it would be for me to go back to the Apple Podcasts App. This App is just far, far better. It's all about user interface. There's one "smart playlist" that works just like Apple's but you can make all your own regular playlists (add and remove podcast episodes one by one like always) or "smart" playlists that follow whatever rules you give them. Another really nice touch is letting you customize the jump back and jump forward to be the number of seconds you want, and customizing what the "remote" buttons do... Aka the track forward buttons on your car. You can pick what their functions are. What a great idea! I love this app! If they told me I had to pay $100 or else go back to Apple Podcasts I would pay $100 in a heartbeat..Version: 3.2

Great App!This is a great app which I constantly use and high recommend. The 'PlayLists' feature adds a real ability to easily manage your podcasts from new downloads, unplayed episodes, etc, etc. Really handy ..... If you're looking for an app which extends well beyond the basic Apple app, you can't go past PodCruncher..Version: 3.3

Straight forward, simple, robustI think that says it all. Well worth the money. I love the adjustable forward and back increment times and that you can set the headphone controls to jump forward and back a few seconds, not move you to the next podcast. Very handy in a bundled up walking mode!.Version: 3.2

Podcruncher is greatI love this app it is stable and downloads really well and is very user friendly. It is infinitely better than the podcast app, the only thing I would love to see is for podcruncher to be able to replace podcast app and one day sync with iTunes so I could import mp3s and make them podcasts from my computer.Version: 2.0

Excellent App!Every possible thing that I might want to do has been thought of and included. Easy to manage the memory used..Version: 3.2

Doc dmgGreat app, worth the money. I'd like to see a search function in the app to help sort through my downloaded podcasts. Sometimes I want to refresh my memory on a topic and currently I have to trawl through all my subscriptions to find a particular podcast. Would be great if you could type in the topic and it would search through all subscriptions for it and give matches..Version: 2.2

FantasticI love my Podcasts and this App keeps all my Podcasts neatly saved ready to listen. When I used the ITunes podcast app I had to look in ITunes for the podcasts, this app makes it easy to find Podcasts, Subscribe to them and keep them upto date I love it one critiscm is when I have accidentally deleted the App but when I subscribe to podcasts I am left with loads I have listened to I would like to do a block deletion..Version: 3.7

Decent player, delete functionality is terribleThe player is alright, does what it needs to do for the most part. One thing I don’t like is its “delete” functionality. If you go to delete an episode from a playlist, the default behavior is to actually delete the episode, so that it won’t show up on your phone ever again! I have no idea why this functionality even exists, let alone why it’s the default. When you delete something from a playlist, what you want is to take it off the playlist. Why would you want to delete it permanently? Makes no sense. And the worst part is if you delete an episode, the only way to get it back is to unsubscribe from the podcast then resubscribe. What’s funny is this misfeature got even worse recently. When deleting an episode, it used to ask you “are you sure?” Now it gives you the option to suppress that dialog. I made the mistake of choosing that option. The problem is, there’s no way to reset the option and get the dialog back. I even tried “reset all settings” and that didn’t work. So yeah, they need to fix this..Version: 3.7

Not bad, but still missing a couple featuresIf the app can get a way to "select all" so they can be marked as read en mass, that would be handy. Also a way to backup other than via email... Perhaps Dropbox/iCloud?.Version: 2.0

Enthusiastic rating, but not 5 starsI’ve searched and paid for several podcast apps but PodCruncher is my favorite. Highly customizable settings, simple interface, and remote control settings (for those of us that listen on a long commute). Other unique features: Viewing all listening my history; the ability to customize each podcast’s download schedule; a feature that lets you view an entire podcast episode history; and many more. Room for improvement - options menu requires several clicks before i can tag episodes (Ex - move episode to playlist, move episode to queue, etc.). But overall, still 4 Stars..Version: 3.7

At last!!At last they’ve updated the app I most use for podcasts. Great app anyway but now they’ve fixed the little annoyances that was making me look elsewhere. Thanks.Version: 3.3

Flawless & Reliable... with one tiny bug: SearchI switched to this app in 2014, after Apple's dumpster fire of an app blew away my synced podcasts for the umpteenth time. It's always worked well for me, except for the podcast search bar, which DOES search but appears as a transparent element on top of the interface, making it tough to read. Unfortunately, I don't think the developer is still working on the app, as no fixes/upgrades in 3 years..Version: 3.2

Love this AppWorks flawlessly. Easy to use..Version: 3.2

Love this App!!I really find this app to be very useful and configurable to meet all my podcast needs. I hope there is an update in the near future as I'd like to see what could be next. I find this really makes keeping the podcasts organized is fantastic. I might like an ability to group podcasts on the main view, though I suppose I could create a playlist that would group them. Also it would be nice to be able to search the podcasts in my list for key words found in titles, show notes etc. GREAT APP!.Version: 3.4

Among the Best Podcast AppsThere are only two things missing from this app to make it my daily driver for listening to podcasts, both of which are personal preferences and do not relate to the usability of the app itself (this app is incredibly usable): 1. External sync 2. Silence skip Podcast discovery would also be a nice addition, but not something I personally need in a podcast player. EDIT: podcast discovery is actually okay, better than many others (eg Castro, Network). Also, there is a random bug that pops up sometimes, moving the scrubber on its own, possibly related to listening at increased speeds. But it's random, infrequent, and difficult to reproduce. Otherwise this really is a perfect app and delightfully customizable - it will absolutely conform to your individual use preferences. More than that, even with all the customizable views and playlists, it does not feel cluttered. The settings aren't confusing and everything just works. I've purchased all podcast apps (I can count at least 12, all if the big guys and a bunch of the little ones) and this is as close as any of them come to perfect. Silence skip had become too important for me recently, so I haven't been able to use PodCruncher fulltime..Version: 3.2

Best podcast app by farThe app developers finally updated it and I can now see what I'm searching for again. Still my favourite podcast app after five+ years, and I've tried a lot on a lot of platforms. PodCruncher rocks!.Version: 3.3

IntuitiveThis app is way better than the apple podcaster. It's intuitive. I can't be without it..Version: 2.2

Awesome finally an updateI can finally give a 5 star. Latest update fixed my only complaints. I’m back to using this app full time..Version: 3.3

Functional and SatisfyingThis seems to be the only podcast app that lets you ORGANIZE ANYTHING. It’s so frustrating to me when I can’t see what I’ve listened to and what I haven’t. I hate massive covers and text. I hate having to download episodes. I hate random unnecessary playback options. This app has none of those things. It’s really satisfying to be able to see how many episodes I have left to listen to. Would like to be able to click on links in the episode notes. But other than that, I absolutely love using this app..Version: 3.7

Great for expats! Super Everyday App!Get all the American news, programs and other great radio content at Pod cruncher. Any expat from other countries as well to, try it you will pleasantly surprised and happy..Version: 2.2

PodCruncher in AustraliaHere we have the free Australian Broadcasting Corp (ABC) who creates lots of quality content. I have been using PodCruncher for a few years now and it has become part of me and my life. When combined with the ABC it is a quantum leap in training & entertainment. When in airplane mode I can listen to downloaded content. Keep up the great work PodCruncher..Version: 3.3

Good but...No update since 2014?! I've messaged the developers a few times about a glitch with the search bar that prevents me from properly searching for new podcasts but I'm sceptical anyone's paying attention to this app anymore..Version: 3.2

Simplifies lifeI used the Apple system but got confused. This is simplicity itself..Version: 3.2

One of my top two podcast playersAs a podcaster, I’ve used just about every podcast player out there and I’d put PodCruncher tied at number one with Overcast for my favorite. The only feature I wish they would add is an option for a played episode to automatically be deleted once completed. Overcast doesn’t play video while PodCruncher does. That is a huge plus for PodCruncher. It would also be nice for PodCruncher to add landscape orientation. As of right now, landscape only works while playing video. My phone is usually in landscape in the car because it’s better for mapping. When flipping between apps, PodCruncher while come up sideways in portrait mode. This makes it difficult to select podcasts. Overall, I’d highly recommend it..Version: 3.3

Like this appOver the last few months I have become an avid podcast fan. I downloaded this app the other day, set it up (which was easy) and today all my fav podcasts were downloaded automatically ready for me to listen too whenever. If you love podcasts get this app..Version: 2.2

Good, functional appI use this app all the time and it gets the job done. One or two clunky bits, but still better than the apple iPhone version. Very happy with it..Version: 3.2

Great and keeps improvingGreat but will be better when it has a 'try later' download option for when there are network issues..Version: 3.0

Best Podcast App Out There. Period. To my knowledge, I have never written an App Store review before this one. That’s how much I love this app, I felt compelled to spread the gospel. I searched and searched for a new podcast app after the Apple app became useless. With some, I couldn’t get all the podcasts I listen to. With others, I couldn’t manually arrange the list of podcasts I listen to. (That’s a critical feature for me because I don’t use playlists, I go through a daily rotation.) Podcruncher is perfect. It has all the podcasts I listen to. I can move my podcasts around the way I want. It’s super easy to use. It just plain works. I have zero complaints. Seriously, thank you to the people who created this wonderful app..Version: 3.7

ExcellentI like PodCruncher.Version: 3.7

Beats Apple into sauceVery good. Nice front end . Works really well..Version: 3.2

Great App!!Does what it says. If you like podcasts this app is for you. Only prob is it doesn't automatically start downloading when podcasts are available. Thus 4 stars..Version: 2.2

Great update. Great appI use it every day!.Version: 3.2

EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED( KWASI BEGORO)Highly recommended.Version: 3.4

Perfect podcast appThis app is simple brilliance, and the pre-download feature is a must to save on data charges and choppy playback. 5 stars.Version: 2.2

Intuitive and easy to use :)Yup!.Version: 3.7

It just *works*!Unlike other Podcast apps out there (I'm looking at you, Cupertino!), this app works very well. The search, playlists, and episode management features are all intuitively presented. The multiple scheduled download options are great. As in the title, it just works. One feature I'd like to see (if the developers are reading this!) would be the ability to mark 'all' episodes as played or unplayed, rather than having to tag them one by one. Not a big deal, I still give the app a full 5. ***update! They now support mass selection of episodes, and fully customizable playlists. It's the best podcast app out there, IMHO..Version: 3.2

A Podcast App that works...I don't write many reviews but this app deserves the support. Tried the Apple Podcast App and it was terrible...this one though does everything right. Clear display design, decent sorting options, no crashes, no pauses, no problems! Great work guys, have 5 stars!.Version: 2.0

Never choosing another podcast player everAmazing app has never let me down and the iOS 11 update and support makes this a must have podcast app. Forget the free ones!.Version: 3.3

Very goodGood app. Does what it says on the tin. Support fast and efficient if you need them. Loses one star for occasionally forgetting its position in podcast when you turn it off. Sure that'll be sorted out though. Much better that apples poor try at this..Version: 2.2

AwesomesauceI will be telling other apple podcast app haters all about this app. It's great! Also, to the earlier comment about missing older episodes; it's possible to download them, you just have to create a new playlist. Easy peasy!! A++.Version: 3.2

Loving this appExcellent app much better then iTunes podcast - love the fact that u can download n watch at leisure without having to use data. Picture is crisp n clear - am so very happy with this app well done to the makers..Version: 2.2

Best!Love this app. Just needs a refreshed look!.Version: 3.2

Brilliant...Absolutely brilliant! Probably the best app of it's kind on the App Store, it's features leave all it's competitors miles behind in a cloud of dust. Can't recommend highly enough! 🇬🇧😍😍😍😍😍.Version: 3.7

Much better than the Apple podcast toolSince Apple has begun to push cloud, apps like iTunes, movies, and podcasts have become extremely confusing. I find that whether or not I subscribe or intend to put actual content on my phone, more often I see that stupid little cloud with the arrow signifying that I can only pull it down over the air. This application has a perfect workflow and makes it very obvious and clear whether or not the podcast will be synced down and how. Instead of the hazy Apple solution where hopefully you have Wi-Fi at the time, this trough a demarcation between Wi-Fi and your mobile provider bandwidth. Something that Verizon customers will appreciate. I also think it does a better job of managing the space on the phone. By time I figure out how to force the Apple application to save it on the phone I've overdone it and I find it's taking up too much room. There are too many too confusing options in the Apple workflow. Just use this one you will not be sorry. I have sprint all my podcasts are done real time in other words I just pulled them down off the air with my phone band with my provider bandwidth. Since most of these are MP3, I have never had to pause due to network conductivity issues despite many of those..Version: 3.2

Great AppGreat app for listening to podcasts. Works perfectly and way better than syncing to iTunes..Version: 2.1

Best Podcast AppWhen Apple updated its Podcast App with iOS 11 they ruined it. I started using PodCruncher and love it. The only thing I didn’t like is the sleep timer doesn’t have End of Podcast but realized if I removed the episodes that would play next it ends with that one. Very user friendly. I highly recommend it..Version: 3.7

PerfectWorks great..Version: 3.2

This is legit and terrificHated using apples crap app. Decided to use this, and after only 5 mins am wildly pleased with the quality and functionality of this fine product. Use this, there is only happiness to follow :).Version: 3.2

It Works.I love listening to podcasts. But Apples Podcast app doesn't cut it- it has glitches, it wont download my favourite shows. This is $1.99 well spent. I love it, you will too..Version: 2.1

......Version: 3.7

Great appSome podcasts unavailable like those from CNN ?.Version: 3.7

BrilliantAbsolutely wonderful. One stop shopping [and everything is free!] for a world of podcasts. Makes driving in traffic a pleasure..Version: 3.2

Works fine, great interfaceSome issues with downloads and configuration but that might be me. I'm on the road a lot, and I love that the interface is large and clear, so I can use it safely and easily while I'm driving..Version: 3.2

Great app!!Really happy with the function of this app..Version: 3.2

Never Explain Never ComplainHello Christine! I recently was introduced to you by a lady that I met and connected with named Amy Lloyd here on Georgia. We are both new business owners and she told me to listen to your pod cast! (Wasn’t really into them) I am on my third episode and I finished listening to “NEVER COMPLAIN NEVER EXPLAIN!!!” Well let me tell you something! This is the best advice ever for business. My business was set back for months… and I kept finding myself explaining to people and always feeling exhausted and worn down afterwards. So I want to thank you for letting me know that it’s my job to not only set boundaries and standards…but I was loosing my power with each explanation. 🤯 I just want to say thank you for that power piece on never explain and never complain. I’m going to open my business with a brand new mind set. I will always remember that other people’s opinions of me… is none of my business! I feel like I’ve been to church! Thanks again. I am now a fan!.Version: 3.7

Helps me keep my edgeApple make great phones and computers, but I find their software uninspiring. I stumbled on pod cruncher and could not be more delighted. True set and forget. One of the most frequently used apps on my phone..Version: 3.2

Does what is saysMuch better than the native Podcasts app. Downloads and plays podcasts. Good UI..Version: 3.7

FinallyWow, finally a decent podcast app, considering the default podcast app just gets worse and worse. This app is designed well and straight forward to use..Version: 3.5

Easy to use but not searchThis is a good podcast program. It is easy to use but I found that search function did not find the podcasts I was looking for so I had to enter the links manually. Also frustrating iTunes does not recognise it for podcasts.Version: 2.2

BrilliantUsing this app is like night and day compared to the apple version. No crashes, works faster and has better features... There are still one or two things that could be worked on but over all its well worth it..Version: 2.0

Feature RequestsI love using Podcruncher. I’ve used it for the past 1-2 years, and I love it. My favorite feature, which made me get it in the first place, are the playlists. I’m appalled that few podcast players allow you to create multiple playlists, and no other one allows you to customize your playlists’ episode orders, etc. If you’re a heavy podcast listener (30+ podcasts), the other apps pale in comparison. Two minor things: after using it for a while, I get a few error notices when opening up the app for the first time during the day. It doesn’t affect any functions of the app, but it happens. I’d also like some of the functions I’m seeing in a few other apps: cut out silences, faster playback to 3x, and playback stats. I’m just a sucker for stats..Version: 3.7

So much better than Apple's effort!I've been using this app for about a year but decided to try Apple's Podcast a couple of weeks ago. I came back to PodCruncher as it's so much better! It never crashes and has excellent podcast management functionality. The only thing missing for me is notifications when new episodes have been downloaded (or are ready for download). Great job!.Version: 2.1

App is broken and unsupported. Find a different app, save your money. It is now impossible to find an app through the search "feature". There are 3 categories to search from except you can not select any. It stays on one because the selection is literally on top of where you type. You can't see what your typing and you can't select what you want to search for. I was literally just trying to add a new podcast and the 3 options randomly decided to change. So even though I'm inputting the exact name, nothing is showing up. App starts playing the podcast your listening to while you are somewhere in the episode making you hear two loops of the same episode. Doesn't always do this, but it happens more and more..Version: 3.2

Would recommendStable, easy to use, doesn't play up like the Apple podcast app. Can sometimes be hard to explore and find a new podcast, but that could be user error....Version: 3.2

Best podcast app by far!!!If you have tons of podcasts to sort then you need this app! If you need some thing to download and manage tons of podcasts then you need this app. YOU NEED THIS APP!.Version: 2.0

ExcellentSo worth the few quid it cost. By FAR the best podcast app I’ve used with excellent playlist function. Clear and easy to use..Version: 3.7

Nearly perfectBeen using for nearly two years. Never had any issues with it whatsoever. My only gripe is that it lacks a search function for podcast episodes, which can make it tedious to look for episodes in podcasts with hundreds or thousands of episodes. Otherwise excellent app.Version: 3.2

Everything I wanted in a podcast app! This great and it is fairly easy to get the hang of it. I have enjoyed trouble free listening ever since..Version: 3.2

Simple and greatCan't fault this app, simple, stable and has all the functionality you need. Searching, setting up and managing podcasts is easy..Version: 3.0

Much better than the iPod appI tried the apple app and it was very buggy. This is much more user friendly, I think. Does everything you want it to do..Version: 2.2

The only one to useThe best app for playing podcasts..Version: 3.3

It just works - great appDownloaded this after getting frustrated with the buggy built in app. It just works. Easy to add podcasts. Easy to customize..Version: 2.2

Good App, Add. Smart Playlist Features Be NiceI like the layout and simplicity of this app. It displays all podcasts’ available episodes by default (without having to navigate and expanding views), which saves a lot of time. The use of smart playlists and notifications to sort through new episodes keeps things manageable and focused, as opposed to having to go through each show’s page or an uncustomizable list. I DO wish there were a browsable library, so it were easier t discover shows without importing an OPML file or feed from another source. I also wish smart playlists had more sorting criteria, e.g. “Excluding podcasts” in addition to episodes “From All Podcasts,” as I want to exclude two podcasts specifically and must manually revise my smart playlist any time I subscribe to new shows. Also, the option to choose “Played Only” in addition to “Unplayed Only” episodes would be helpful for anyone looking to create both a later-listening queue (unplayed) of starred episodes while also maintaining a smart playlist of favorited past episodes (played). The first is possible, but the latter is not. Overall, happy with the app..Version: 3.7

Great appAfter reading reviews of other podcast apps this one looked the best. Definitely not disappointed. Works flawlessly and simply. Highly recommended..Version: 3.2

Excellent podcast managerMuch better then few of such applications I tried so far..Version: 1.9

My podcast app of choiceWorks really well, lots of customisation options, auto downloads, does everything I need with no fuss. A good app to have..Version: 2.2

It just works.I follow 43 podcasts and other apps have let me down - they’ve updated & ‘forgotten’ what i’ve listened to or just not worked with new iOS etc. I just updated this app and everything is still working. 10/10..Version: 3.5

Excellence appApple should offer this developer a job reworking their stock podcast app. This is excellent work..Version: 3.2

Exactly what I was looking forI was getting really frustrated with all of the Podcast apps out there that were simply too clumsy to use and too complicated to deal with. I wanted something simple and straightforward but yet reliable. So glad that I found a PodCruncher! It is deceivingly simple and yet very powerful. Don’t let easy fool you though, it has a lot of features but doesn’t allow them to complicate things. If you’re looking for a podcast player to, you know, play Podcasts then this is the one for you. It won’t do your laundry or take the garbage out but it will make listening and finding podcasts extremely easy..Version: 3.7

Great viewerEasy to use. Love the playback speed control..Version: 3.2

Great appDoes everything really well. So much better than apple does..Version: 3.0

Mr E ShopperIt's good and certainly one of the better pod players, but it can take a couple of attempts to find the new podcasts when updated. That said I still use this every day and will continue to do so.Version: 3.1

Significantly better than apples abandonwareAs above.Version: 3.2

Why so long??Finally a simple but effective podcast synch and player app. No need to hook up to iTunes too. Nice!.Version: 1.9.2

It works !!!Great, apple one didn't work fibre optic broadband and it would take hours to download a episode !. So I thought I'd try this one. And it works well seconds later aNd episode is available :).Version: 2.0

To the DevelopersCould you PLEASE fix the bug that causes the iPhone lock screen player control panel to get stuck on a previous podcast episode from long before even though I’m listening to something several episodes ahead from a completely different podcast? The play/pause, skip forward/backward buttons work, but the time counter and cover art stay on the old episode until I restart my phone. I tried to contact support, but was unable to send an email because I don’t use the native Apple email app. I used my last podcast app for over a year (1,200+ hours), and bugs is what caused me to delete it and look for a new one. Considering PodCruncher is a paid app, this inconvenience is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping to avoid..Version: 3.3

Updated and nearly perfectWell done podcast listening app with loads of features and a well thought out UI. It's only missing feature is silence removal..Version: 3.3

100 x better than the apple app. This has options to limit data sources and amounts. Brilliant!.Version: 1.9.2

Excellent appSwitched to this app after the frustrations from Apple's own. I am very pleased I did and I thoroughly recommend it. All in all it's an app that does exactly what it promises, it does it really well, and it is being actively developed by its software team. I am very pleased with it!.Version: 3.2

Great appI've been using this app for a month now and am much happier using I than the podcast app from Apple which I previously used, I'm really glad I changed!.Version: 3.2

Better than appleSolid app..Version: 3.2

Does what I needThis is my favorite podcast app. I bought and deleted several other apps before finding PodCruncher. It’s easy to use and rock solid reliable. The playlist features are the best thing about PodCruncher for me. It’s much more flexible than other apps. I listen to old radio shows and I like to make a static playlist I can listen to over and over. Other apps wouldn’t let me put the episodes in any order I wanted and/or they would delete an episode after it played. PodCruncher allows me to create, order, and keep a playlist..Version: 3.3

Way better than Apple's defaultThey are in different leagues (Apple's Podcast app and PodCruncher) but there's one simple feature I'm chasing that I can't get: Chromecast.Version: 3.2

Best Podcast App - But One IssueI like that it’s easy to use, straightforward, and fast. My only complaint is I wish the default when deleting downloaded episodes was to delete the media file off of the device, instead of deleting the episode. When I go back to the podcast episode it is gone. There is a way to delete just the media file, but it is not the default for swiping episodes or for selecting multiple episodes to delete. More than once I’ve had to unsubscribe and resubscribe to the entire podcast to access an episode I wanted to hear again..Version: 3.7

Best IPhone/iPod Podcasting App Ever!I have used many podcasting apps over the years and found this one the best on mobile devices! The user interface is really optimized for a small screen. The best thing for me is the simplified playlists that give quick access to shows. This really helps if you have multiple devices to sort through just what you have downloaded and what's now available. If I could make only one request it would be for an option to select the last app's version grey colors instead of Apple's mandated bright color scheme pushed on developers for the new iOS look that is way too bright. Overall, the best mobile podcast app I have used - free or paid..Version: 3.2

Great appSo glad I ditched the rubbish apple I tunes app in favour of this. It's a great app, does what it says on the tin. I'm happy :).Version: 3.7

Very gpodWorks well - recommended.Version: 3.2

No Question- The Best for PodcastsI read a few of the lower rated posts and can say with certainty they are just wrong. There are no issues with streaming, they do save your place, and the best feature (as far as I'm concerned) is the ability to create different playlist so you don't have to scroll and/or figure which ones you have already listened to. If this review helps one person give this app a shot, then I have done my duty. I have never posted a review but this one seemed necessary. 5 Stars! Not even sure what changes could be made to make it better!.Version: 3.2

AtorayaLove it. Makes everything so simple and allows you to customize everything the way you like. Love the wifi auto download function..Version: 1.9.2

All goodNo complaints..Version: 3.2

QualityIt's quality. Well worth the few bucks it cost. Haven't had one problem and have been using it almost daily in the car. I love the way you can set it to automatically download podcasts when you're in wifi..Version: 3.2

This is the oneTried several. One had as good or even better features, but half downloaded files would sometimes end up not getting deleted and the app would balloon in size. The only way to fix this was to reinstall the app That was getting old Other podcatchers were stable, but missing essential features. This app, on the other hand, is just right. Worth the slight fee. Worth every penny..Version: 3.2

Always WorksEasy to search for and add new podcasts..Version: 3.3

Apple app begone!Wow - I can't believe I battled with the stupid bug-infested Apple podcast app for so long... Or iTunes for that matter! This has made my podcast listening SO much simpler. Such fine-grain tailoring. This subscription has lots of slow talking: 1.75x speed. That one is heavy going: 1x. Video also speed variable! Oldest first here, newest first there. Download behaviour also customisable. Dead simple playlists. Only criticisms are that it only imported subscriptions that had downloaded files present, requiring manual subs of the others. And had to manually delete all the episodes I've already listened too - one at a time. Took ages. But now everything is smooth as... If your listening revolves around podcasts, you just can't go wrong with this app. Goodbye to that dog of an app iTunes, and all its endless syncing, hello simple listening!.Version: 2.0

It works!!!!!!It is easy to use It works It doesn't crash Worth spending the money.Version: 3.2

Fast but outdated interfaceI switched from Downcast for two reasons - the app was dog slow (on my iphone 5 and my new 6) and it frequently shut down in the background. I was looking for something fast and feature rich. Podcruncher advertises speed and delivers. I have two complaints. One is a weird bug that only happens when i stream a podcast and stop halfway through. Sometimes I'll come back to it the next day and it will only play the next few minutes and stop. I can't scrub or play past that stop point. I have to manually download the episode to continue. The other complaint is the old interface. If they're going to keep charging for it then i need to be able to fit more than six podcasts on the screen at once. Scrolling through such a fat blown up interface takes forever. I'd also love more options for listing and sorting, like a way to filter the oldest unplayed (for catching up on a backlog) or being able to sort the podcast list without changing the priority of each podcast. I'll keep using it just for sheer performance, though.Version: 3.2

The only podcast app you need.I’ve been using PodCruncher forever. It’s stable, it takes private feeds, you can make playlists and it’s so easy to use. There’s no reason to try any other podcast app. Period..Version: 3.7

My favorite podcast appI like to listen to my podcasts in the order that they were published, and I have been searching near and far for an app that does that while going from one podcast to another. The smart playlists let me do exactly that! The only feature I wish was slightly different is the Play Mode - Continuous/Stop at end of episode. I wish the Sleep Timer included a “Stop at end” option so that I wouldn’t have to go back to the options every night when I listen to my last podcast, and then again in the morning to set it back to Continuous. Otherwise, it’s great..Version: 3.3

Visually compact and easily navigableThis is the podcast app I’ve been looking for after Apple redesigned their app for iOS 10. There’s little point in promoting one app by only criticizing another, so let’s discuss the merits of PodCruncher as compared to Apple’s native app. These are the three most significant features PodCruncher offers vs the native iOS app: Visually compact. This was my most sought-after feature. A small icon with the title in text is all I want. Same goes for browsing episodes within a podcast. I don’t want to be limited to seeing only 6 podcasts on a screen to display the podcasts’ big title graphics. Usability #1. A hamburger icon next to each episode gives easy access to the functions I need: download, add to a playlist, play now, view show notes. Usability #2: Easily access playlists from the bottom toolbar. Create and manage custom playlists. Yaaaas! I thought Apple had done away with playlists in their iOS 10+ app. They sort of did. They were replaced with “Up Next,” and I had to google the multi-step process for accessing that playlist (scroll up while playing an Up Next episode. PodCruncher has none of that nonsense. Bonus #4: browsing for new podcasts by subject and searching by title, author, and country is also very convenient and nicely implemented. Thank you for keeping it simple and functional, and stepping up where Apple really missed mark!.Version: 3.4

Outstanding appReally, really good. Lots of options, very customisable, frequent updates with visible improvement. Still one bug that sometimes the same episode is duplicated with the title of the next episode (sometimes triplicate). Have you removed the player functionality of skipping episode by clicking headphones button twice? Suggest next time add functionality to show/refresh available episodes from subscribed podcasts and download selected ones.Version: 3.2

GreatI've used this app for a couple of years and it's the best podcast app I've been able to find. Only one issue I've ever had: I have a kind of routine in the morning where I open the app, open my podcast, pick an episode and click on "show notes". The first time I click on that, no matter what, it crashes. It doesn't have any other problems while I use it but when I click on show notes for the first time, it shuts down and I have to start over. It's a fairly minor inconvenience but can get annoying after 2 years..Version: 3.2

The best podcasting app imo, just needs one thing...Been using this a long time, has exactly the interface and almost all the features I want. Really pleased with the latest update too, they overhauled one part of the app that needed it - the look of it was a few OS updates old - and they made it compatible with the new phones, but didn't fix anything that wasn't broken. All the features and functionality I love are intact, and they didn't add anything extraneous. But they just need to add one feature - the ability to search within your library of subscribed podcasts. Like some podcasts have hundreds of episodes and I might want to revisit ones with one particular guest, and it would be so much better to be able to search rather than have to scroll through the full list..Version: 3.3

Dsimply does the job without too many unnecessary featuresI will happily give 5 stars if an apple watch app is added where I can download some episodes and I can listen to them on the go without taking my phone with me. I need it for my running sessions. Otherwise, this app is perfect..Version: 3.7

Downloads much faster! The new version does parallel downloads..Version: 3.2

Saved me years of frustrationPocCruncher has been very reliable for years! i have recommended to my sister in law who was as frustrated as i had been with other podcast player. My only complaint is that my logo has disappeared..Version: 3.5

Great appI used Podcaster for a long time because it offered an array of variable playback speeds, but otherwise was the worst app I'd ever used. Apple's Podcasts app also didn't quite cut it in terms of flexibility in managing podcasts and playback speeds. Podcruncher has great features and is also very stable. I've been using it for nearly a month now (and listen to podcasts on a daily basis). I couldn't be happier. Well worth it. UPDATE June, 2014: I've been using PodCruncher for over a year now, on a daily basis, and still couldn't be happier with it! Great, stable app. Developer is responsive to feedback..Version: 3.2

Best podcast app that I’ve ever usedAs with all software, it can be better, of course, but it’s way ahead of similar apps in terms of usability and simplicity; well worth the money; highly recommended.Version: 3.7

So Glad I Found This AppAfter using the iphone built in app and becoming increasingly annoyed at the interface and bugs I encountered I switched, so glad no more bugs easy to use, just perfect!.Version: 2.2

Best podcast app I’ve usedHas just about every feature you would want. Unlike in the Apple Podcasts app, you can see a lot of information at once without having to tap or scroll. Everything is just easier to do and find. Excellent app. Worth every penny. The only negative is that the app hasn’t been updated for over 3 years. It still works fine, but I wish it had a dark mode..Version: 3.7

Good enoughI'm picky with podcast software. Glad I've found one that does the job.Version: 2.2

Very GoodWorks well in my F series BMW using the steering wheel buttons 👍🏻.Version: 3.7

Very goodFar superior to Apples best attempt, strange how such a big company as apple is unable to do better. Definitely worth switching..Version: 3.2

Works really well BUTWorks really well but the file size is huge. 1gb+ and I've only downloaded a couple of podcasts. But as a app, it works perfect and 100x better than the one apple has put out!.Version: 2.0

Love it! Needs 1 key feature.I love this app, and it’s good value for money. Sometimes lags when loading episodes..Version: 3.7

Great AppI love this app it puts the Apple one to shame. If you have any problems support are very responsive. Main benefits for me: - Download podcasts over 3g - Easily find and subscribe to shows - Check for new episodes and download them in one swipe..Version: 2.1

One stop for Podcasts!Like everybody else that has rated this happen I think it is an awesome app for podcasts. Very good at helping you find the podcasts you want and then making sure that you have them all in one place. It's very easy to use app!.Version: 3.2

Better than Apple PodcastBetter than Apple Podcast.Version: 3.7

Great Pod cast appI have tried others, including Apples, but I think this is very easy to use and I have never had an issue. Thank you because I am addicted to podcasts. My wife hates that I have my ear phones all the time. I see it as a good thing!.Version: 3.7

Excellent appPerfect app for subscribing to podcasts of choice and managing episodes. I have been using this app for my daily commute solidly for over a year now and it doesn't miss a beat..Version: 2.2

It's ok.This app is ok. It is way more reliable than the Apple podcast app as far as actually playing things when I try to listen to them, however the interface isn't as streamlined. I like that the official podcast app has the option to move podcasts up or down in the grid view design depending on which is your favorite or most listened to. I also wish this app had two views for each podcast: what you have downloaded and what you haven't. Having 700+ that you have to scroll through on some to find what you downloaded is a bit irritating. At least it has been more consistent on playback..Version: 3.2

Great podcast app. Couple requests? Not sure if you guys read all these but I love the app and just have one thing that I regularly think I'd love to see. Figured I'd drop a line and see if if might get added. * play videos like audio. I have a lot of videos I only care about for the audio, and I never have time to watch them. TED, stand up comedy, or just periodic live video versions of normally audio only podcasts. I'd like some way to listen to them like Norma. Maybe a "play videos in this podcast as audio only" so my phone can be off and I keep listening and it includes them in smart playlists?.Version: 3.2

Does what Apple's version doesn't - it downloads podcasts consistentlyReally needs to continue downloading while in background mode, next version maybe????.Version: 2.2

Good, but needs a few tweaksI've used Podcaster 5 since the days it was Podcaster 3, but yesterday it disappeared off the App Store and the app also stopped working! A quick hunt around and I decided to try this app out. I'm not disappointed. I had a couple of issues, emailed support, and got a reply in a couple of hours. There will soon be an update to select all podcasts in a subscription at the same time, but for now you have to tick them one at a time. A pain when there's 100 podcasts you need to mark as played. Everything else works spot on. I'm very happy with my purchase. 5 starts will follow after the next update hopefully. Until then, an honest 4..Version: 2.0

Does everything the Apple podcast app used to do before it was wrecked - and moreI was an avid Fan of the Apple podcast player, until it was wrecked in a redesign a while back - which took away the ability to build custom playlists and specify the playing order. This app does all that and a lot more. A slight niggle is that for search the text does not appear in the right place - but this does not take away from the 5 star rating. Great app - does what I need.Version: 3.2

My first choice for podcastsI listen to podcasts every single day. I tried several apps before finding this one and have dabbled with a few since. Nothing rivals the simplicity and reliability of PodCruncher. It also works flawlessly with the car Bluetooth as well. I've noticed other apps don't always resume play from where you left it last. PodCruncher does this flawlessly which is a big plus..Version: 3.2

Perfect for Power UsersI had been growing enraged by the iTunes podcast app, because of its lack of features. PodCruncher was the result of trying 4-5 different popular apps including Stitcher, Overcast and even the upcomer Castro. I thought they had their strengths, but were but were not viable candidates for me. PodCruncher is amazing because it allows me to sort through my subscriptions and curate playlists of podcast to listen to depending on mood or theme. I listen to more podcasts this way because what prevented before is, I would only have a few moments to pick an episode (before going on a long drive for instance) and not enough time to make the right decision. I would get bored quickly but not have the attention span, while driving, to pick a better episode. PodCruncher allows me to create "low energy", "entrepreneurship", "meditation" lists which I can cue up when I want. I have been shocked to find out to what extent this is really an uncommon feature (to have multiple playlists)..Version: 3.7
