✓ Our Daily BreadI absolutely love this daily devotional. Getting it through my kindle app I am able to read it and read the Bible in a year. This year 2020 is the first time I received this opportunity for the first time for the start of April 1sr day. I’ve read every day since. I have very bad site but with the Kindle app I can make the print large enough to read it. I’m looking forward to reading next years edition. I love that it has the bible readingsin it. ✓ New update.Like most everything about your app except the “forced” location sharing. There should be an option to turn it off. But, instead I get bugged every time I open the app that I need to go to settings and allow access to my location. I’m not doing it. All you need to know is that I’m located in the USA, nothing more! I never have location services turned on on my phone excepted when I’m driving somewhere I haven’t been before and need google maps to help me get there. ODB is a great GPS to HIM. But you don’t need my physical location for that. Please put in the option to toggle location off..Version: 4.4

✓ LOVE the NEW FORMATI’ve been a reader/listener of ODB since Les Lamborn was reading on ODB. Every time there were change, I always struggled with the change. I wouldn’t like the voice until I got use to it, then ODB would change again. They really got me when every reading had a different voice, but I got used to that as well. Now with the new format, I can go through the archive and listen to Les Lamborn again as well because the archives goes back as far as 2011. There are reading plans, and the ability for you to have multiple reading plans and so much more. Thanks ODB for the extended Archive!.Version: 4.0.1

✓ ODB App keeps closing.I’ve been reading Our Daily Bread since I was sixteen and have always enjoyed this App too. Recently, although I’ve received the notification each day the App has closed immediately on opening, despite being up to date. Today I deleted it and reinstalled it on my iPad. I’m pleased to say that it is now working. Unfortunately, all the bookmarks I’d saved and journals I’d written are deleted. Very sad..Version: 4.0.3
✓ Fantastic Update!Uninstall/Reinstall - Works Perfect!!!! Have been using the app for a few months now and am really happy with the recent update. Here are a few highlights for me: - The daily readings have a much cleaner appearance and are even easier to digest now. I particularly like the new headings for each reading section. - The addition of the message audio is fantastic for those who commute or are multitasking. - The suggested series-continuations are a great way to offer further depth if you’re interested in a particular message theme. - Biggest new plus are the “Insights” listed at the bottom of the daily reading. They help give context to the message content and frame where the message is coming from in scripture. Although the previous versions may have had a couple of these features, or variations of them, this new format and presentation are much more refined. All in all, I’m very happy for the update!! [Only downside was that my phone didn’t auto-update the app like I have it setup to. After the app continued crashing 3days straight, I just uninstalled/reinstalled, which obviously fixes the issue and allowed for the update. Life gets in the way but with this neat little app you can read the daily story and then later on read a part of the bible it relates to. You also have a spoken button so you may listen. My heart is sad today, after the update done 3 days ago I have had to delete my app and reload it this morning. I have not been able to call it up yesterday or today. In my ignorance I’ve just been reading and not signing in and now today I am sure my history is lost, but it’s my fault. I will sign in and start my “read” history again. ✓ 5 Stars!This app always has great content and I try to make daily use of the "Read the Bible in a Year" feature. This latest update has a nice layout which makes it a bit more intuitive to read - no more swiping left and right or going back from the bottom to the top to access the "Read the Bible in a Year". Adjusting the font size is done from the bottom right menu button, then tap "Reading Settings", choose your font options. But don't forget to tap "Save" or the settings won't be kept. I can't log in without the app crashing (using iOS 14.4 on iPhone 11), even after deleting and reinstalleing it, but I don't really have a reason to login so that hardly matters to me..Version: 3.4.1

Sometimes I keep reading the past devotionals until I find something that moves me. Daily Bread has been around for as long as I can remember and it’s sooooo nice to have the app available. You can read past devotions, from years ago!!! Reading plans that challenge you to accomplish yet inspiring for journaling session. ✓ Avid ReaderRegardless of where I am at I love reading OFB. I got up this morning to your new version. I immediately tried to find the setting to increase the font. I did but my eyes still had a hard time adjusting. As I signed in to my account it now reset me to one day reading. This made me a little sad. I enjoyed getting my number of days read. I know it’s silly but that was a thing for me to be proud of. Please give us older people who don’t put their glasses on immediately in the morning a little more font option. ✓ Hmm...where is the original reader?I must say I love this app! It really spearheads my devotion time with the Lord in the mornings. But ever since July and I want to say after the fourth of July holiday the original reader has not been reading. It’s unfortunate because I really really really appreciated how much I was able to connect with God through that original reader. I would be kinda down sometimes but after hearing a great word from the author of the day and the original reader reading it would lift my spirits instantly! Please consider and bring him back. ✓ Was great but now is notI previously wrote a review saying the app would only crash. I have now deleted and reinstalled and it will now load (third time I’ve tried this). BUT… the new version of the app is awful. Half the screen is covered by a white square that hides most of the content. (Menu at the bottom, then blank white area, then app content in the top half.) If you actually get into a reading plan the text is too tiny to read (and I enjoy small text in an app). The formatting and design are very poorly done. ✓ No Image AvailableI love this app. It is a daily morning staple and very inspirational. Like the last reviewer however, I am no longer seeing the inspirational images, which I usually share daily; I am just seeing a greyish image of a mountain. I have noticed, however, that if I click on the following date, the image for that date shows, but only on the day BEFORE that actual date. Once that date arrives, there is no image available, only the greyish mountain, which in itself is quite a depressing visual. For instance, yesterday was July 27. On July 26, I clicked on July 27, to see if the image was available. It was, and therefore, I thought that there was just a glitch for July 26, and that the images would return for July 27 and dates beyond. However, by yesterday morning, when I expected to be able to see the image which I had seen the day before, there was nothing but the grey mountain image. The same thing happened today. I can see tomorrow’s image, (which I have now emailed to shelf for use tomorrow), but I am certain that by tomorrow, when I open the app, I will be greeted - sadly - by my old friend, the grey mountain. ✓ Great devotions - some bugs in appI've used the Our Daily Bread devotions for many years now and enjoy them a lot! I will frequently bookmark the ones that speak to me and share them at the beginning of church meetings. I do have one issue and one request. The app will freeze if I try opening it at certain times of the day - I'm not sure if that's when it has the heaviest load and thus has trouble downloading the devotion or what. The second is that I find the "You read x days in a row!" counter very demoralizing. I only use the app as part of my weekday routine so every week I'm starting over and feeling like a failure since I can never get over 5. I would love to see an option added to be able to turn that off. Some people may appreciate that extra bit of motivation, but for others, it's very guilt producing - not what you want from a devotion app that is supposed to build your faith up. ✓ Overall great appUpdated review: My prayer team reads the daily bread every morning and although I had to figure out how to navigate some of the features, and it does require a little more effort than the previous version when reading the scripture reading, overall it’s a great app. There aren’t many translations when you open the scripture reading. I preferred when it opened directly to Bible gateway. There is a way to get to Bible gateway but again, a little effort is required to get there. ✓ Picture at the bottom of the daily devotionalI love reading ODB each day. I often forward the small picture at the bottom of the devotional to friends who I encourage or share ideas with. For several days now the picture is blank. All I see is Tap to Share and then my iPad reverts to my home screen. As nice as the comments from other users are, the commentaries help to give a deeper understanding of the devotional verses and help newer Christians to grow in their walk with Jesus. Just needed to let you guys know that every three weeks to a month out of nowhere the app doesn’t want to load up. ✓ Partial reading & does not update properlyLet me start off by saying that I love the devotionals & that they’re available online. However, I have ran into issues where when listening, it cuts off/stops before finishing the complete devotional. Because I have a distance to drive for work & church, I have the pleasure of hitting play & receiving the Word. It’s very disappointing when it starts & stops in the middle & you think it’s something wrong with your phone, but everything else works. ✓ Scripture Reading IssuedFirst let me start off saying that I love and greatly appreciate this app for it is very helpful in my spiritual walk, journey and relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. The only complaint that I have is the scriptures that goes with the daily devotionals are not showing. It keeps saying “no results found. ✓ FIXI try not to start my Day without spending Time with Father in His Word. ODB is the first step in my Daily studies and Meditation. I tend to share what Father places on my heart to share. The Scripture, Quotes and Images from ODB is almost an automatic. ✓ Love the Content, Frustrated by Crashes Since App ChangedI love this app as a devotional, and have used it for several years. I would give it 5 stars for content. Some months ago there was a major update to the app—structure and functionality changed. While the aesthetics are really nice, they came at the price of function. The app is much slower in opening, and so I changed my settings to have it start with today’s devotion to bypass someof the issues. However, last month the app wouldn’t launch, it would start then return me to my phone’s home screen. I tried restarting my phone, but that left we with a white screen on launch (except for the frame). The help section said to delete and restart the app, which I did, but I lost all of my history except my user profile. Now it’s happened again, and I’m faced with the same “solution”. I love the content. I wish I could go back to the earlier version before all of the aesthetic changes..Version: 4.0.5

✓ FreezingMy husband and I read ODB every morning after breakfast. Im sorry to report that on most mornings it freezes up and we cannot finish the reading. I have deleted the app & then downloaded it again but we still have this same frustrating issue. Please advise me on what else I might do to correct the problem. I used the hard copy of ODB for many years but chose the on line app as a more environmentally friendly alternative. I would think it might be my internet server, but we do not have this problem on any other app & it appears others are experiencing the same issue. Maybe it can be addressed soon. ✓ Need to fix those bugs:I love love this online app devotional. It keep me in tune daily with my quiet time and devotionals. I also love to share each devotional and encouraging message in my Social Media accounts in FB or IG. However lately whenever I press share in my link the photo never changes and it freezes or it dropped and shuts down. So what I do is I just screenshot each photo with messages on it from that day and copy paste the rest to share it on my feed/ site. I have friends from other countries that looks forward in reading those. They don’t have the means or big data sometimes on their cp network to download the app., so I gladly share them everyday. ✓ Free?This app doesn't do much yet. It's just a web clip app that shows the website content. However I bought it to make a donation essentially. My suggestion is make it free like the other magazine and the ODB content free and build more into it. Then make some content donation enabled like you do with the day of discovery site... The other thing is that apple take 30% of your app purchases. I prefer to donate thru your site. Can you please add paypal support to your donations? ✓ Deleting certain stuffOur Daily Bread app is a really good app for Christians who love having a close relationship with God. It doesn’t only give you verses but an understanding of the verses with real life scenarios. When I started using Our Daily Bread as a guest it was very easy to use. I could do my quiet time no problems. Then I made an account so that all my notes could be saved, but when I logged in everything I had done as a guest had been deleted. I have learned so much about the Bible and about life that I could not have learned on my own, considering my busy schedule and plethora of other excuses. This app has made my worship more efficient in most cases, but there is something that has been bugging me. I really like to make a note of something that sticks with me, and the private journal is a perfect concept to do so; however, it is incredibly glitchy. Half of the time, I lose a whole entry because the save button disappears. This happens nearly every time I write an entry, and there is no apparent cause. Developers, if you could work on this, I would greatly appreciate it!! Other than that, I wholeheartedly appreciate this app, and I’m not sure who I would be without it. ✓ App crashesI love the app personally! Only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because the app constantly crashes on me. I’ve tried closing out the app, reopening it, deleting the app, downloading it back, turning off my phone and same issue still applies. As soon as I choose the day for the lesson, it immediately freezes and I can only read the top portion, can’t even stroll down to continue reading. I used to read it everyday, but I’m not even excited to on my phone anymore just because I can never get through a whole lesson, unless I wait 5 minutes just for the app to unfreeze or not close out on me. ✓ Great devotions/one bug thoughI’ve always loved the content, style, variety, and presentation of the devotions, going all the way back to when I was reading the paper version! I love the journal entry option, however, when I’m typing a journal entry, I get about 4 or 5 lines in and it doesn’t scroll while I’m typing, it disappears behind the keyboard on the screen and I can’t see what I’m typing. I also don’t know if there is a character limit, as I have made a New Years resolution to make a journal of my daily prayers and I can’t really see more than the five lines (using Apple iPhone 8 Plus). ✓ Great App but new update not linking bible correctlyHi ODB This is a great App. We have been using it since it came out. The latest update is not linking to Bible Gateway correctly. I get the previous days bible reading or at least the same book. E.g. Today should go to Ephesians 4 but it went to Matthew 4 and the previous day it went to 1 Corinthians 11 Instead of Matthew 11. But the partnership with Biblegateway for Bible passages is becoming increasingly intrusive as BG gradually increases its commerce. I was able to go to the Daily Bread website and was able to retrieve the message for the day. For the past 5 years on every Friday your devotions have been a blessing to families and individuals as we deeply study each scripture. I read a study the passage before on a Tuesday to make for preparation for Friday. Unfortunately i am unable to do this if my access is on a daily basis. ✓ OBD app not working on my iPhone 11.I’ve been an avid user of obd resources for years for my daily devotional and Bible studies. However, since I got my iPhone 11 and downloaded the app, I have been unable to open it. It always crashes as soon as you tap on it to open. You can see it in the background but you cannot get it to open. I deleted the app and reinstalled it many times to no avail. ✓ Freezes up; pictures not downloadingWhenever I open ODB, it freezes up on me like for a couple seconds. I didn’t have that problem before. Also, the pictures at the end of the articles are not downloading. I used to download and share them on my Facebook wall. It was my way of sharing God’s Word to my FB friends.
