✓ Overall great, but the updates require updatesI’ve used this app for years and it’s very good. I’ve tried every golf app available (that I’m aware of) and this is the best. The problem is that every time the app updates, it messes up another feature that worked perfectly. So.....it requires another update to go back and fix that. This isn’t a one time thing. This has happened multiple times. My frustration with this is the reason I’m only giving it 3 stars. When the app is fully working, it’s definitely a 4 to 5 star app..Brew DreesVersion: 12.4

✓ Can’t hide scores during a roundI can’t hide my scores during a round. I do not want to see my total score and scores on previous holes while playing, it effects my mental game. If I have a few bad holes I want to forget them but the app just reminds me of them. Better if the default page was just a map of the hole, with distances to the green. That is more important information than the scorecard. Hopefully the developers read this. Apart from that I think the functionality is really good. ✓ Issues, but best GPS for Battery LifeI like this app a bunch. Been using it for a couple years. When able, a couple times a week. Compared to other golf gps apps I’ve tried, it is the easiest on my battery. I have used this app for two straight rounds in one day and was even playing music on the same device simultaneously and still had plenty of battery life. As previous comment, I have had delays or glitches on it populating distances, sometimes having to go back and forth between screens for it to come up. But it is still reliable and worth using. One recent complaint that I have which is really irritating and why I only give this 3 Stars, is due to the logging of scores for multiple players. Guess during one of the updates this changed. But now when inputting multiple players scores per hole it only saves the last persons score that you input. The work around is, you have input and save each individuals score, one at a time. I have to input my score on hole 1, save and then do the same for everyone else. And even then it still does not save scores properly. So lately I have had to get someone else to manually keep score on paper then go back and fill in the missing scores. So at this point it has not been very reliable. I didn’t even use it my last round due to this timely issue. Hope this gets fixed soon so I get back to using and referring this app..LuiB33Version: 11.23

✓ Pretty good, data could be used more effectively.Excellent shot tracking in terms of exact ball positioning and relatively hassle free to track shots on mobile. Always finds the course I’m on with no problem and battery use is ok, drains me to about 40% after a full 18. Once you’ve got a few games in you can see some interesting stats like your average distance for each club or the general direction of your shots but in very raw form. The presentation of the data is a little too raw for me and it’s a lot like looking at a giant spread sheet of information without any analysis. As a data nerd, I can draw my own conclusions, but it would be nice to see some of this done for you, especially at the steep price of $20. Perhaps a simplified summary page like “in the past 5 games you have been using your 5 iron drastically more than any other club” or “you tend to over push or hook your shots when you use a 3 wood” Finally, I think that this app would be fantastic if i could see how my stats stack up generally against other app users. ✓ Good but will not close and kills batteryGenerally the app is ok. When you end a round it continues to stay open and active on every version of the Apple Watch I have owned. You must manually turn off your watch and restart it to close and end this app. It is a pain that has been told to them multiple times and they will not fix it. Updates do not fix it for the past 2 years. Company gets the money and refuses to find a way to close their app. I have given up trying to use this support. This is the only review for an app I have ever done, so you can tell how utterly frustrating this app has remained. ✓ Progressively Worse by the dayIt started out great and was all down hill from there. I had a defective tag but found a work around because I got no feedback from customer service. Then I noticed it I could not add stokes and save it. Every time I saved it was like I did nothing. Then I recently cannot add a quick score to a hole. It won’t save it. Now I am losing rounds because of the glitch. I keep reaching out to customer service but now no one is responding. ✓ App very good however let down by tags.I’ve been using the app for a while now and it seems pretty good. It knows every course I’ve played on and has helped quite a bit with distance to the hole and bunkers etc. After using it for a month or two, I thought I’d buy the tags to speed up recording the shots taken and position on the course. They are quite expensive at $100, but unfortunately simply do not work with my iphoneXS. I tried with and without a case and couldn’t get them to reliably scan. I reported this back to golfpad who weren’t of much help. They said they’d look into it. I heard nothing back and asked for a refund, I didn’t get a response again. The app can be a bit cumbersome to keep track of each shot as you have to get the phone out of your pocket and mark the shot each time. The tags would have helped if they worked. ✓ Great Idea - Fix The BugsGolf Pad is a terrific concept and I like the App overall. The Paid version is worth the money. However, I have two issues (maybe three) with Golf Pad. I use my Apple Watch to see the yardage without having to pull out my phone. Great! The bug? After the round, it won’t turn off. I went to the Forums and did everything that was mentioned, but it still appears on my Apple Watch - even though my round has been complete for over 15 hours. The second issue are the Tags I bought and put on each club. I followed all the instructions. They just did not work for me. Great idea. Too difficult to operate. My third issue is … I tried filing a Tech Issue by following the link in the Chat Forums. The App asked me to Log In again (fine), and then I was asked to Log In again … and again. I gave up. ✓ A Simple App They updated to ExtremesI started using this free app when it first came out and loved its simplicity. Since then endless updates have added endless complexity. If you don’t use it year round, be prepared for it do things differently when you play your first Spring round. This year has been more frustrating as a local course I play has all the wrong distances. I would like to notify Golf Pad, but that seems impossible. ✓ Great App, tags on iPhone not so much.Updating my review as I have the tags now. The app works great on Apple Watch without using tags, but using their tags causes the app to crash on the iPhone. It’s done this for months now. If you don’t want to use tags and an iPhone you’re ok. This app is easy on the iPhone and Apple Watch battery (read their FAQs), accurate, helpful on the course and simply works. I tried the app alone and it worked well. Yardages were spot on and updated quickly. The setup for registering each club swing on the phone is well thought out. Since I have an Apple Watch, I tried their premium trial today. Watch app worked great (turned off watch’s heart monitor as it eats battery) and had 77% battery left after 18. The plays like distance takes into account elevation and weather, including wind, somehow and saved me on a par 4. We had some wind and the app was telling to hit about two clubs less off the tee. I followed the app’s advice, normally would have hit a club less. If I had hit one club less I would have been in trouble. Later I logged into web site to see uploaded round. Love the stats and I think I will be purchasing their club tags soon just to make registering club swings a little more convenient to pinpoint club distances and tendencies. ✓ New version considerably worseIn the latest version of the app (July 2022) the developers have removed the group round feature and replaced it with live leaderboards. Despite the claims made in the version notes, this was a terrible decision. In the previous version (group rounds) you could see your mates hole-by-hole score in the app during the round. Now, I can’t figure out how to do that at all. It seems you can do it at the end of the round with about 5 convoluted steps and navigating out of the app to an in-app launched webpage. I still find the app pretty good for individual play at shot tracking, but this significant backwards step suggests to me that the developers have lost the plot. ✓ Doesn’t update quickly enough to be accurateI paid for this app and use my Apple Watch on the course. I’m very unhappy with the lack of distance updates. The phone will say one thing, the watch another and you don’t end up knowing which is correct, if either. It’s sometimes right but who knows when it is. Especially playing a new, unknown course. I probably will go back to my old Garmin. It’s much more accurate and doesn’t drain my phone battery. Also, it doesn’t recognize if you start on hole 10. Sometimes if you put 10 in the phone it shows up differently on the watch. When you get to 1 for the back nine watch lists it as hole 19 or 21. Very confusing and disconcerting. What’s up with this? Only way to see how far you hit it from the tee is to open the map in the app and drag your finger back to the tee block and see how far you are. You should be given the option too put down N/R when you don’t score on a hole when playing with handicaps. ✓ Very good app.The support team is very responsive. This app has had its growing pains but being in the software industry I understand. The link device for the iPhone still locks up when I try to turn it off but it’s easily reset. This is a good way to track your shots and distances. It gives you an accurate reading on how far you hit each of your clubs. I haven’t had any issues with the tags themselves as other people reported. I used to use golfshot GPS and with this app I don’t have to remember to track each shot. I just click the club in the link device and it tracks the distance until I click my next club. The link device also lets you mark the flag position. The only thing I would like to see improved is the distance of my last putt. I usually make my first putt and when I miss it I go and mark the flag position and then click my putter to the link and mark my last putt location. This usually gives some bogus distance. For example I can click the hole position and in the same spot click my putter to the link and it tells me my last putt was something crazy like 8 yards. A minor inconvenience. You can also play an entire round bd without using the phone By just clicking clubs on the link device. ✓ Problems that still haven’t been fixed!!!This is a good app when it works. I have suggested it to several of my friends. I have noticed a couple issues and tech support has done nothing to fix it. First, in the Club Recommendation settings, if you choose driver at 280 yards and PW at 135 yards, it will jump up to like 300+ yards for driver and 160 yards for PW. I payed for the app to get the club suggestions with slope and temperature. Of course this is not correct. Second, the WHS does not use 10 best rounds out of 20, it only uses 8 out of 20. This will cause your handicap to be incorrect. This may sound minor or minute, but that’s why I pay for this app. Please fix the problems!!!.MosbykVersion: 14.0
