Awesome AppYes, I would appreciate more of a WYSIWYG editing environment, as well as some of the features from the desktop version, like the ability to rearrange scenes easily and the option to create different types of scripts, but quite frankly, I love this app. For the money, it can't be beat. There are always updates so developer continually works on it, and getting customer service is easy. Own both the desktop and the iPad versions and could only be slightly more satisfied. The only app that comes close is Final Draft Writer and that's 50 bucks. Of you want a good app for screenwriting on your iPad, this is it. The desktop version is slick. Add the features I mentioned above and this will be the only screenwriting tool needed..Version: 1.2.466

Good addition to desktopYes, this is a limited version, but it works well enough in conjunction with the desktop version that I use it quite a bit. I start a script here, easily export through Dropbox, then make finishing touches at home. Let's be realistic, for the price, you shouldn't expect a finished script quality app. Something that lets you work on screenplays while you're on the go, however, is completely worth it..Version: 2.0.520

AwesomeReally good and worth the money. And probably the best screenplay app out there..Version: 2.0.565

Love it!!Great for syncing across different devices, especially while on the go. One drawback is that I can't see the page count. Adding that would be great!.Version: 2.0.533

Great app to work on your screenplay on the go...I use Final Draft for my screenwriting...but wanted to write on my iPad when away. I've tried all of the others...and only Fade In has the ability to import/export to Final Draft and actually KEEP THE FORMATTING correctly. I contacted Fade in guys with a feature request...and it was in there within weeks. Now that is service I can get behind. These guys are doing a great job! Highly recommend!.Version: 1.1.286

Great and easy to useThank you so much for making an app easy to use. I don't like a lot of the technical stuff but this has made writing a true blessing and easy thank you so much. Very fluid. God bless..Version: 1.2.383

Decent appI bought both the mobile and mac app. Both are decent apps on their own and work well together. I would give it 5 stars if it was not for the compatibility issue with Final Draft. Yes you can open and save as .fdx but there's some data loss in between if you switch back and forth between FI and FD - the title page for one thing but also a lack of compatibility when it comes to the revision mode. It's not really feasible to work on FI if you work in a team or with a producer/network/script editor that uses final draft. I have raised the issue by sending an email to FI but ave not received any response so it's hard to know if they are working on this or if they care at all. Otherwise, it does its job if you work on your own, it does pretty much everything FD does but cheaper..Version: 1.2.443

Dropbox integration does not workUpdate: So Dropbox sync works in iOS9, but only with files that are in the Fade In folder - you have to move your files from whichever folder you have them in to the Fade In folder. At first I was annoyed by this, but then realized this 'bug' is actually a good thing - this forces me to have a backup of my files that aren't being synced between Fade In devices, in case something goes awry. But at the end of the day, I do want to be able to point Fade In to the location of the folder with .fadein files, hence a star drop. <original review> This version on iOS9 doesn't have a working Dropbox sync. It's either stuck in "no account" or "looking for files", after connecting Dropbox with FadeIn. Ken, please fix this. Thank you..Version: 2.0.520

So far not so goodCan't sync my Dropbox so as yet haven't been able to open any scripts. Have no idea how well it works until I get past this hurdle 1*.Version: 2.0.565

A useful and integrated way to keep on working.I use the MacOS version for most of my writing but the ability to add, edit and change things on the go, and across several devices, is fantastic; you never know when inspiration (or common sense) will strike! The seamless syncing through your DropBox account makes life so much easier. On an iPhone it’s a little fiddly, but not off-puttingly so, on an iPad it’s only marginally less convenient than on a laptop..Version: 1.2.452

AmazingThis app truly rocks. When the mood strikes me, I whip out this app on my phone & immediately I'm there. Way more relaxing than sitting at my PC. The setup & flow couldn't be any easier. My only request would be to see a page count. Other than that, what's not to love?.Version: 2.0.533

New update brings iCloudReally loving the new update, having iCloud is great.Version: 3.0.611

Fade In, Final Draft Out!With this app and the Fade In Pro desktop software, you get a complete screenwriting suite that's more attractive and more functional than Final Draft for a fraction of the cost. It's updated way more often by a responsive developer. And it can edit FDX format if you ever need it! Great for spec scripts..Version: 1.2.432

Great piece of softwareReally glad I brought this after being disappointed with the direction of Celtx..Version: 1.2.383

Works FlawlesslyI've had no issues syncing with Dropbox and creating my screenplay. Thank you!.Version: 2.0.549

Convenient but I would love it if...This app is very convenient. I recently replaced my laptop with an iPad and that is the sole place where I write so I needed to move to this Mobile version. It’s simple and doesn’t glitch. After leaving Final Draft behind, FadeIn is a wonderful program that I can’t recommend enough. Since this isn’t just an app that I use while I’m traveling or away from my laptop, it would be great if it included the following: Auto capitalization - if there’s a way that I can change that in the settings, please let me know. I am totally spoiled by that feature in the full price version. Character name recognition and auto fill - It’s VERY tiresome to have to type in full names each time, especially in a dialogue-heavy scene. Again, spoiled by the paid version. Sync to the paid version - If someone purchased the full price version, it would be nice if this app would sync to it and allow us to pull our existing work from it. It took me a long time to figure out why my files in Dropbox weren’t showing up in the app until I searched through the FI website’s help page and found that the folder containing your FI files needed to be a sub folder, not a main folder. I created one called WORK and drug my WRITING folder into it and voila! All in all, this app is more than worth the price and I will continue using it but I hope that some of the conveniences of the paid version can be incorporated into it..Version: 3.0.609

Great, but slightly crashy...This is a very nicely designed app, and for the most part it’s a pleasure to write in. Just great to dive right in and get cracking with no fuss. I love the quick style links in blue at the bottom, that’s really helpful. What would be really great is keyboard shortcuts - could that be a thing in a future release? One drawback - it crashes pretty regularly - just quits out and I lose the last 5 minutes or so of work. Pretty frustrating. I’ve got the latest iPad Pro, shouldn’t be any issues with the iPadOS... I wonder if anyone else is having this problem? Other than that, I love it..Version: 3.0.637

BuyI wrote a review prior that was not accurate. I continued to use the app and now see how easy it is to write. I apologize to the developers and encourage everyone to purchase.Version: 3.0.609

Excellent Writing CompanionIt does everything a professional writer needs. It works perfectly with the excellent desktop version. The only thing missing an AI feature that writes your script for you 😁.Version: 3.0.624

ExcellentI chose Fade In mobile on my iPad and Fade In on my computer as they work together and sync seemlessly. Final Draft is not yet there with their iPad app...after looking around at the apps available and then looking for one that would offer computer equivalent...well, there was only Fade In that I could see that would allow me to work on both devices easily, safely and with an easy sync. I am working away on my script on the train on my iPad, at home on my computer and syncing is superb. And if I am out and have an idea, the app it is on my iPhone as well, all synced and ready to work on my scripts. I also got immediate email support from the Fade In developers when I needed it. I am very impressed..Version: 1.1.369

One manageable problem but, so far, so good.Had a problem with the element menu collapsing into a group of overlapping, non-functional characters forcing me to enter everything as an action element. With the expedient help of the developer, I was able to isolate it as a problem associated with the use of a bluetooth keyboard. Turning the keyboard off and back on fixed the element menu..Version: 1.2.466

Thank youTo all who read; Kent Tessman developed Fade In. As I am new to screenplay writing, It became apparent that I made the right choice when Kent personally responded to my emails when I had questions. This was very comforting. Thank you for all your hard work Kent, I will be sure to announce your name and Fade In when I receive the oscar for best screenplay:)).Version: 2.0.508

Great and Convenient, But OutdatedI use the app on my ipad and phone and I just love it. It’s a great alternative instead of carrying a laptop around, but my only gripe is just the lack of updates. I can’t type in real time. I don’t know if it’s my phone or the app itself, but trying to type on the app is a nightmare..Version: 4.0.12

Handy, intuitive softwareThis is easy to use, despite the lack of any obvious menus. The one thing I would like to see added is the capacity to create a pdf version. Without it, I’m having to go onto my desktop to create one, which is a bit of a faff..Version: 3.0.632

Great appIf you have Fade In on your computer this is almost a must own. Perfect to edit scenes on the fly; or to write a complete script. Simple layout and Dropbox integration make switching from home to mobile as easy as pie. I love it..Version: 1.2.470

Fade In Mobile RecommendationsThis is a great app. I would like to integrate it into my workflow, although, there are a few insufficient features not included into this app compared to the PC version. - The inclusion of iPhone/iPad keyboard shortcuts for when a keyboard is connected in order to quickly add elements (e.g. CMD+ENTER for a new scene, CMD+1,2,3,4,5 for elements). - General performance upgrade - Google drive not connecting fluidly, (No files seem to show when connecting through google drive) - Lastly, it would be a great feature to actually print off the app and not have to rely on going the computer Fade In software as sometimes I’m out in the field changing something on the script and low and behold, we can’t print it 👎.Version: 4.0.12
