They say they don’t have any advertising, but they continually advertise their premium features almost every time you open the app. Radar map is decent, but the pop-up is happening too frequently. I already paid for the app. Stop asking me to give you more money. To the developers: No, I won’t shoot you an email to discuss purchase options. I said it all in the review. I don’t want the premium features. Stop with the annoying pop-up advertising before you lose more customers. Your response to me is a pathetic effort to make it seem like you care. ✓ Forecast LackingI really like the radar, but for the last few months the forecast stats haven’t been current or correct. For instance, for several days our local forecast has called for snow on Friday. This app has only showed snow on Thursday…even Saturday…never Friday. Even today, Thursday, the snow forecast on this app is Saturday. It’s supposed to snow starting around midnight tonight, and that’s a far cry from Saturday. ✓ This app is too bug-ridden to keep subscribing toAfter years of subscribing to this app and reinstalling again and again to try to fix the map display I’ve decided to unsubscribe and uninstall. Any time the app has been running in the background I have to close it and restart it to get the map to correctly display the layers. Support told me it may be related to an unstable internet connection but it still occurs on Wi-Fi using a gigabit fiber connection. I’ve tolerated it for a long time but Wunderground and CarrotWeather have similarly detailed maps and I can no longer justify $1/month for this glitchy mess. That’s too bad because for years I’ve used this as my go-to radar app despite its constant issues..Version: 4.4.40

✓ Nicely laid out, not worthy of a subscription though.What drives me nuts about this app is it’s constant need for you to subscribe to its paid service for reasons I find difficult to want to pay money for. I mean, I wouldn’t mind paying a fee but the app would have to be on point and by on point I mean work all the time and load quickly. I have read other reviews and people state that it loads the maps quickly. I just think these people have become comfortable with the term “mind numbingly slow” and that’s as good as it’s going to get. No, if you want my money, your app has to perform. Paying a service for a weather map that takes in some cases, up to 2 mins to fully load is not acceptable by today’s standards. Sometimes it doesn’t load at all and I have to close the app several times for it to work. I am sure there is a work around for that but if I pay for the service and just accept the flaw than I am throwing away my money. The interface is great, but with the lag and the promise of future cast and some widgets. I think I’ll pass on the subscription..Version: 4.4.29
✓ AwfulAlready purchased the app once. It was great. Now a bunch of features were removed and they're looking for more money to bring them back. Not happening. Edit 7/3/18 Came back to see how this app was doing. It’s still awful. Also found out they were doing so bad on the reviews since the rebuild they actually had to restore all the reviews from the golden age of the app to make it appear good. About 300 reviews averaging 1.3 stars in a year to 8,000+ at 4.6 in less than a month. Absolutely pathetic. I would give this app -5 stars if I could. Bait and switch. Deception. Zero functionally. ✓ Has potential to be what the old app wasThe pre-2018 weathersphere radar app was my absolute favorite. This was is actually a decent replica of that one. Making the following updates would push it over the top; -Customization: Add back in the ability to slow down/speed up the loop, and add in custom icon locations. -Future weather: They have this option on this version, but it’s not the same as it was previously. Previously the past radar would seamlessly integrate with the future radar to create a smooth transition. The current setup is disjointed and stutters. It also does not connect with the past radar. This is my biggest complaint. -Rain notifications: Please bring them back! -General map smoothness -Money: I’d pay a flat 5-10 bucks for a remaster of the pre-2018 app. But this nickel and dime stuff is not great. Please provide an option for a one time payment of features WeatherSphere, please make these changes!.Version: 3.6

✓ * Radar imagery needs improvement *My radar imagery is no longer colorful or as sharp as it used to be in previous versions, why? And when you use the SATELLITE view it’s background is much too dark to easily see. (I do know how to change the layer transparency and this has nothing to do with what I’m talking about.) Overall, I think it’s a great radar app and would rate it 5 stars except it’s newer versions are poorer than its old. You should improve, not say technology has changed and we’re doing our best! Who wants to pay for such when there are many free weather apps that are able to keep up to date. I do still enjoy using this one since I’m already familiar with it..Version: 4.1.7

✓ Dissatisfied is an understatementI’ve had this app for some years now, I’d eventually been forced to update it, which I was hesitant to do due to reviews of how the quality has declined since the version I was on. Not only that, upon updating it there were new terms. They require monthly or yearly payments to use an app which I ALREADY PAID FOR! This is blasphemy. Downright wrong. When I paid for the app I was told I’d have access to it, it cannot be legal to eventually just say I have to pay more money to use what I already had access to. I suppose I’ll have to uninstall and find something else. It was a good app, until the developers got greedy. ✓ Radar image disappearsII like the app but I ALWAYS to to restart my phone to get a radar image. I have 2 iPhones and it’s the same problem on both. I restart the phone, get a current radar image, come back 30 minutes... 1 hour later... no radar returns showing up anywhere... restart the phone... I have a radar return to look at again. The map is there there just no radar image. It would also be great if it would quit automatically zooming into my immediate section of my County every time I ask it to show my location. I want to see what’s coming from surrounding areas. It automatically zooms in and I have to constantly zoom back out again. Very annoying..Version: 4.4.17
✓ DisappointedThis was my go-to app for radar for about 3 years, and it’s been very accurate in my area (Atlanta, GA). I checked it daily. But I am extremely disappointed that after paying monthly for this app for several years, they’re now upping the price and putting previously accessible features behind a steep paywall. Future forecasts was the main reason I used the app. Now it’s unavailable unless I pay $30/$40 per year? I can’t afford that right now, nor would I pay that much. Additionally, the radar loop used to go back 5-6 hours and now only goes back 1 hour. It was helpful to see how the weather was moving for a longer period of time. ✓ Paid for future weather but it never loadsGot this app because I work outside and the basic weather channel app wasn’t cutting it. I’ve heard good things from a friend who uses this app and decided to give it a try. I paid for the monthly service of future radar but it never works properly. The past radar works fine but when I switch to future everything disappears and it says it’s clear for about two hours before everything pops back up again I gave them my dollar and tried it for a month. ✓ Latest update + response to developer’s response.Everything new in the latest update is great...EXCEPT the auto-zoom when tapping the location arrow. This, on its own, absolutely ruins all the improvements. Because it’s the first thing that it used. So, now...the second thing you’re forced to do is...zoom back out. It’s just pointless. - Just got a response from the developer, explaining the intention of the 3-tap location function. Yes, you explained it well. However, the second tap only zooms out to show the area of maybe a small county only. This is the problem. That is completely useless. It’s a waste of the function. If you’re gonna apply this function, it should zoom out, far enough to show the entire state, minimum. More preferably...a region of states..Version: 4.0

Actually my only complaint. There is not a way to turn it off or change the settings so you can get more time of past radar. ✓ DON’T UPDATE! February Update is buggy!The February update (v4.4.38) introduced a bug in the daily forecast, whereby the app is now incorrectly displaying tomorrow’s forecast data as today’s forecast! I updated 3 of my 4 devices before noticing the bug. The remaining unpatched device works properly so the bug is definitely from the recent v4.4.38 update. To the corporate troll writing these so called “developer’s responses,” don't bother. I submitted a bug report with full explanation and screenshots almost two weeks ago and aside from the automated reply I have heard nothing from this outfit and the bug is still present. Good grief, what happened to this app? It used to be a great, but ever since they went to an overpriced subscription model, it’s all been downhill, slowly morphing into a cluttered, bloated dumpster fire where now they cant even get the daily forecasts info right. ✓ Must change the auto-center featureI gave a negative review a while back because the auto-center feature when tapping the location button was so annoying. The developer response helped me understand how to move it around once I select my location. However, after months more use it’s hard to describe how annoying it is that the location button doesn’t default to simply showing my current location on the map. Instead, it zooms in much too far and centers on my location. Then I have to tap it again, and rather than reverting to my previous view,8 have to re-center it to the desired location and zoom level. ✓ Not what it used to be.I understand the old weather provider expiring and all but it seems like a slight to us who paid for the pro version to not receive the newer app for free. I remember the old app seemed to have better functionality and more layers. This new version seems dumbed down, and it doesn’t look like I’m the only one to think that. I also find it odd that NOAA, a government agency is charging so much for an app, in addition to a monthly fee. Now they switched the terms on me and want to extort more money out of me by forcing me into a subscription!! This is not how you do business. ✓ Loved the older versionI like it except for the fact : every time they do a updated..it gets a little more simplistic for example: when I first downloaded this app able to login in and on the app post photos of weather for my location💕 now that’s not isn’t available anymore. There was also graphs that showed you the cloud depth to see how far the clouds reached up in the atmosphere and show you kind of lightning whether it was positive or negative.I’m a huge whether!!! this app keeps getting dumber and dumber!!!! Having a reliable weather radar is crucial. I need something that’s gonna load even when I have only 2 bars of reception. Than I paid the $0.99 for the future cast and that lasted only a month.... now the future cast still says I need to pay even though I subscribed. I use this app strictly for the radar, which is clear and accurate. However, I’m finding that other full service weather apps now have radar that is just as good. I don’t do business with con artists and will be contacting Apple for a full refund of both purchases. ✓ App is going downhillLike other long-time users, I paid for this app for the great high resolution radar images. Now the app is increasingly annoying to use. Each time I open the app, I get a big pop up asking me to subscribe for a monthly fee. The historical slider keeps getting worse. It was at its best when you could slowly move a few frames forward and backward with your finger. Now the slider is on top. Even on my iPad, this means my hand is *covering the screen* when I move the slider. Also, 2/3 of the slider is dedicated to the paywalled forecast. If you activate the blue GPS dot, the screen will automatically recenter. This is fine initially, but not after zooming out and panning! Look, I know developers incur maintenance costs as IOS changes. Offer the users some upgrades for a one-time fee. But, people like me are not going to do a perpetual subscription so long as good weather websites exist. Sorry, that’s the truth. I would consider paying $10 or $20 one-time for some upgrades.
