Reciprocity Timer for Positive User Reviews

Notes needs a little workThe notes function (pro version) is pretty clunky. Can't add categories on the fly, and apparently can't move notes between categories. If not for that, it's 5 star..Version: 2.03

Great app, handy for 4x5 shootersNot enough credit is given for this app. This app is incredibly handy for calculating bellows compensation and reciprocity. Yes, this app could use more films in the database, but as a 4x5 shooter, all of the emulsions I need are listed..Version: 2.54

Except tri-x time is way offOther films I checked are ok. Very useful app for me but I would verify your film is correct..Version: 1.4

Must Have App for Film ShootersThis app is a must-have for those shooting film and is absolutely mandatory for those shooting large format. The new update added a massive number of film stocks, but it does so much more than just calculate reciprocity failure. You can select filters so the your filter factor is automatically calculated. You can add exposure compensation. For those shooting large format, it calculates your bellows extension compensation for close up work. I am very happy with this app..Version: 2.0

Best App For Large Format PhotographyThis is a one of a kind app that is invaluable for my large forms film photography. It is MUCH more then just a reciprocity timer, in fact I think the name should be changed sense it has evolves to so much more. This app is a total exposure calculator and note taker for film photography. The developer is friendly and listens and implements the feedback he gets into the app. The zone system annotations are a great addition to the already great exposure note abilities..Version: 2.03

Easy to use but lots of optionsReciprocity timer is dead easy to use - but has lots of configurable options should you need it. Customize filter factors - no problem; bellows - all the way to 1200mm; make notes, custom films..Version: 2.54

Nice but...I wish I could save my settings for frequent exposures..Version: 1.6

GreatNot sure why this app doesn’t have more good reviews. Best app ever for anybody using film..Version: 2.54

Has changed the game for meAs all of my lenses have speeds that are NOT true to their stated times, that had cause many years of frustration in attempts to get good exposures. I had purchased a shutter speed timer, and hand written the speed averages for each, but attempting to then mentally calculate exposure reciprocity? It was a nightmare. Then I hear of “Reciprocity Timer”. Now with the App enhancement of being able to enter my own shutter speeds, I have consistently taken good exposure photos time and time again..Version: 3.61

Great app for film photographyBefore this app came out I used to refer to the manufactures instructions for each kind of film used and they do not have the additional information like filter compensation etc. I find this app extremely useful and have everything calculated for you including long exposures using film. What I also love about this app is the auto note and the feature to take pictures as attachments and the zones editor is a great feature recording what your thoughts were at that time do not have to remember everything thanks for the app made my photography easy..Version: 2.02

It's great but...I would love to see Portra 160, other than that a fantastic app!!!!.Version: 1.6

Great app + bellows extensionLove the app so far. Love the bellows extension. I came across some Arista edu 400iso (4x5) and noticed that neither it nor Foma 400 (if it exists) are on the app. Is there any way this can be added? Thanks!.Version: 2.03

HandyVery useful and handy. Everyones times will very slightly based on developer dillutions and so on but this is a very nice app and gets me where I need to be without making me think like too hard..Version: 1.4

Reciprocity failure - another request!Hi Guys - another request! I was using the app with PAN-F in the Hasselblad a few days ago, down the coast, to get some nice seascapes, and the exposure time ran to about eight minutes with the 10-stop ND filter. Can you set the app to suspend the iPod auto-lock function to keep the screen and the sound alive while the timer is ticking? That would be a real help. Other than that, I'm really enjoying the app and putting it to good use to help me get some great photos (when I manage to do my part right!). The reciprocity times for HP5 and PAN-F seem to be pretty close to spot-on. Thanks again - cheers! Chris..Version: 1.6

Great AppThis is a great app. Saves me a lot of calculations and time and is continuously reliable! Keep up the great support.Version: 1.6

Was good, not so much nowKeeps crashing or deleting custom settings. Tried contacting developer and got no response. UPDATE: app is working great now after a conversation with the developer. Sent him screen recordings and data to help him figure it out. App update was done in a few hours, approved by Apple and downloaded to my phone a couple hours later. It’s already helped me. Cheers..Version: 3.55

FinallyI've been waiting for a while for an app that combines the few features I look for such as reciprocity failure, filters, more importantly, the stacking of filters(which was difficult to find out) and bellows compensation. If it here was a way to add other reciprocity data, that would be great..Version: 1.6

I've been waiting for someone to do just this! The premise of this app is great, and something I've been hoping someone would do for a while. The layout and operation is clean and simple. I use mostly Fuji Velvia 50 and Ilford Delta and HP5, so my comments here are restricted to these two films. For Velvia the values given here correspond to what I know from elsewhere (unfiltered - I don't use the filtered scale, which I presume is for Velvia's supposed magenta colour casts). However, I'm unconvinced by the Ilford values given, which don't specify a particular type of film or ISO speed and are certainly not the values that Ilford give for HP5 (I haven't had time to check the Delta values with the values this app gives). I can't comment on the other film types that I only rarely use. It would be nice if there was some kind of in-app info on the sources/calculations, and I look forward to more films being added (which the developer says they will do). Clarity regarding the Ilford issue will emerge in updates, I'm sure. In the meantime, I wholeheartedly recommend this, but do check the values given here for your film type against what you already know before relying on it for critical shots..Version: 1.0

If you are a film photographer than you must have this app.I would like to see more film types here and as a Velvia 100 & 50 film user, I would like to see the calculations for Velvia 100 in the app..Version: 1.6

Useful appI’ve been using Reciprocity Timer for a few years now and it’s been very useful. There are a couple of modifications that would help; the ability to add more than one filter before returning to the main screen; I’d like to be able to ‘lock’ the selected film type, as I’ve inadvertently changed it a couple of times during a shoot without realizing..Version: 3.12
