Strong Workout Tracker Gym Log for Positive User Reviews

Best workout tracker on the App StoreThis is the only workout teacher tracker that truly has everything you’d need to track progress at the gym. Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been at it a while, this app can help. Tracking sets, reps and weight is easy, there are many options for types of set such as reps only, duration, and many more. There are so many built in exercises with video demonstrations so it is easy to correct your form or see what muscles you’re working on any given exercise. There are areas for notes for any exercise, and areas to build templates for each of the days in your cycle. The best part about this app is that it’s free, and never gives any ads, nor does it demand you sign up for its premium membership but it is very well worth it if you do..Version: 5.15.18

Amazing Workout CompanionI was sceptical of this app when I first started using it, I had only been training a few months to shake off some of the pounds accumulated in ‘Lockdown 1’ and honestly after a few months of use I can say that without a doubt this is the best workout tracker out there. The ease of constructing and editing routines is flawless, Apple Watch integration is fantastic and for the price of subscription it’s great value for money. I see so many people at the gym using notebooks to track their progress. Not only is Strong so much more concise but it offers valuable insights to track your progress with specific exercises and further allows the option to add your own exercises where they may not already be keeping you motivated and allowing you to track progress around your goals..Version: 5.14.2

Everything you needThe app has become my workout bible.Version: 5.9

Best workout app!!Been using ever since I started working out half a year ago, still using it! Perfect for tracking exercise progression (reps and sets etc). Allows you to create 3 workout templates for free, so many exercises to choose from and if your exercise isn’t there you can add it manually!.Version: 5.15.23

Excellent app & supportI’ve subscribed to premium for just over a year since my PT recommended this app; it’s fantastic for inspiration, confidence building, developing your form, and of course tracking progress. It’s the only app I’ve ever paid for, and I’m more than happy to have just paid up for another year. When there was a hiccup with my renewal and I stopped seeing the premium features, I emailed for help and got a friendly reply within hours that solved the problem in an instant..Version: 5.15.11

Great app but massively drains batteryThis is a really well thought out app and has some great functionality. That it remembers the last weights/reps of an exercise is great for helping improvement and motivation and the ability to add rest sets and failures is great. But it REALLY drains battery to the extent that you can’t really use the app if you know you’ll need your phone to last the rest of the day. There are are also a few other features that could be added such as the ability to see how much of each body part has been trained recently (so you know which parts to focus on more/less) and the ability to drag and drop on to supersets once created to change them. Please fix the battery issues!! I can’t justify paying for the app with such a glaring fault!.Version: 5.14.1

Great app Just a bit too expensiveGreat App for gym although not as recommended as could be, due to accumulative cost of pro version..Version: 5.4

Rest TimersIf the change of rest times of the same exercise didn’t affect other templates with a similar one, it would be great. I find it annoying when I select the same exercise for another template and it changes rest times for that exercise in every other template it exists in. Otherwise the app is amazing. Would give a 5 star if not for that..Version: 5.15.23

Great, easy to use appIncredibly helpful for tracking your progress! Recommend highly for anyone and everyone interested in the gym.Version: 5.13

An awesome app for tracking weight liftingThe best app to track workouts found. Buy addons, you won't regret. The app does exactly what I as a weights and calisthenics lifter need. Period. All "suggestions" I have like showing current vs planned volume per exercise in a workout, or unilateral exercises support when I use and track different loads on sides, or web based backend would make Strong even better, but comparing to all other apps on the market this one is just awesome as it is now. It’s difficult to imagine a better app for fitness enthusiasts..Version: 5.13.1

Best app I’ve ever used to track workoutsIf you’re like me and want to keep a close eye on your lifts and progression, this is the app for you. There is a subscription fee which is the most annoying part of the app, but it keeps the developer in business and with the frequent improvements it’s well worth it. I love the Apple Watch app so I can quickly look at my wrist to see what is next up in my routine and log my workouts. The app keeps track of your rest time so you don’t have to think about it. I used to have to open the Stopwatch in the Clock app and switch back and forth between Excel–where I previously stored my data. The little tap on the wrist when using the Apple Watch app is helpful and makes for a great user experience. The data visualization for each exercise is useful and there are too many features to list that are awesome. I want to highlight my experience going outside the US. When I went abroad, I had to use metric plates since everyone else uses that. With a simple setting change all my previous lifts were converted to metric so I didn’t have to sit around doing conversions to know how to load the bar. Afterwards, you can simply switch back to pounds and all the data you collected overseas is converted back to US units. For anyone who wants to get into working out and keeping a tab on their improvements, this is the app to get..Version: 5.11

Great App for Beginners! As a beginner, this app is so helpful for tracking how often I workout, the weights and reps so I don’t forget, and learning new workouts through their mini-tutorials and walkthroughs! I downloaded the app and used their three month free trial (which is an amazing amount of time to try it to really get a feel for it would work for you or not!), and I had intended to cancel the Pro subscription right before the trial ended (like a lot us do for apps sometimes). And nope! I loved it so much and at $30 a year, it’s price is comparable or cheaper than buying a physical workout tracker or subscribing to other apps, but it’s connivence is so much better! I don’t have any critiques and the one thing on my “wishlist” is for the workouts per week to be iPhone widget compatible so I can add it to my Home Screen to keep me accountable and motivated to complete my workouts every week..Version: 5.15.15

FantasticReally good app, I’m still learning how to use it more effectively, but even just as a base product, it’s almost everything you need. It’s probably beneficial that it’s not social, however I would like to connect with a couple of mates in different cities/countries (like Strava). I’d like it if you could connect with contacts, share workout blocks and previous sessions.Version: 5.15.18

Awesome AppI spent half of my winter break trying to build a similar app because I had always tracked my workouts on my Notes app, which became a mess. But then I found this app, which has a clean, easy to use interface and everything you need to track your lift progress in the gym. I love it. The only thing that stops me from giving it a perfect 5 star rating is that I wish they would implement a feature where you can enter the desired rep range when you’re building a workout, and then show your history for that specific rep range during the workout. Currently, if I do 4 x 8-12 on bench press, but the following time I bench 5 x 3, it’ll show me on the active workout that I did however much weight for 8-12 reps last time. Not a huge deal to go into history and find it myself, but it’d be cool for it to pull up the last time I did 5 sets of 3 and show me the weight I lifted that time on the active workout screen after telling it that that’s the number of reps I’m going to do for that workout. Again, otherwise amazing app, but would love it if y’all could add this feature. Thanks!.Version: 5.6.2

Best workout tracker for advanced lifters.I’ve been seriously lifting for about 8 years, and have tried all kinds of methods for keeping track of my workouts including special notebooks, different specialized spreadsheets, all kinds of different apps, and none of them compare to Strong. I have tracked about 300 workouts over 2 years and have no complaints at all with the app. I love the ability to customize my own workout templates, and the rush of knowing that I broke through a barrier and hit a PR. The auto-rest timer is another great feature and lets me hop right into my workout every morning without having to think about that kind of stuff. If you try it and like it, I would highly recommend going for strong premium. Realistically if you’re using the app more than a few times per week, the $30/year or whatever is well worth it for the ability to hold unlimited workout templates. I have folders set up specifically for all the different gyms that I work out at, since some equipment is only available at some gyms, and the ability to select a workout that I curated is Uber-convenient..Version: 5.15.16

Love this AppI absolutely love using Strong. It’s simple and easy to use, especially when you can create your own workouts..Version: 5.15.11

5 stars on my phone, 1 star on my watchI’ve been using this app for a few years now, and it’s everything you could ask of it. Creating workout routines and logging is a breeze, though there are some small things I’d love to be able to do (like add another exercise to a superset). The phone app is reliable and never crashes or loses a workout. I will never need another app to track my lifts. The watch app, on the other hand, is garbage. I tried to log a workout from my new AW Series 4 and the app crashed to the main screen (watch face) in between each set. When I ended that workout (which never synced with the app, BTW), I started one in the phone app and the companion watch app opened... but then crashed again. The watch app is essentially unusable. It’s probably harsh to drop the rating to three stars based on the watch app, since the phone app is so fantastic, but the fact that the watch app can’t even function at a basic level is too much to overlook..Version: 5.10.4

Makes tracking progress simple. Before buying this app, I would have a set of exercises that I would work through but I never really knew what I did last time as far as weights or reps. Now I have created a template for my works and I can clearly see the weights/reps from the previous workout. This not only shows how I’ve progressed over time, it provides me with goals to beat during the current session. This is a game changer! And it wouldn’t be great if they didn’t make logging everything so easy. That’s what makes this app so effective. It’s simple to use and intuitive. The video tutorials with step by step directions also gives you guidance and confidence you are doing the movements properly. I’d recommend this app to anyone who is their own personal trainer looking to record and track their progress overtime..Version: 5.15.12

TransformationalThis app is a must for anyone really looking to improve in hypertrophy or strength gains. It allows tracking of so much more than just what you lifted. It allows you to set routines, splits, rest periods, notes your latest lift on exercises so that you can see your last weight lifted (if you’re looking for true overload then this is crucial). My PRs have soared since I have used this app, including weight PRs on Squat, bench and deadlift, with REP PRs also on most of my other lifts. It’s simply a must and I will never walk into a gym again without it..Version: 5.8

Tempting...This app looks great! Although I am yet to fully adopt it. I appreciate the minimal design. However, this app does not have a dark theme. I gym early in the morning and would appreciate if a dark UI could be introduced in a later release..Version: 5.7

Best app I have ever downloadedThis is such a fantastic app. It is exactly what you need to track strength progress. It’s extremely simple to use and all of the advanced features are tucked away in easily accessible parts of the app when you’re ready to experiment with them. The design and UX have been so well thought out. You won’t be able to find any other free app like this one. The free part of the app has everything I could ever want which is also amazing and I feel like most free versions of apps can be so limiting, but this one does not disappoint. I have never had issues with bugs or crashes, EVER! This is truely my favourite app on my phone now. Thank you.Version: 5.14.1

Perfect for my needsI had been using paper and pen since starting my weightlifting journey a couple of years ago but decided an app might ultimately be quicker and easier. A bit of research led me to this app and so far ( 1 month in) it is has fully lived up to expectations. Set up my 3 workouts and all good. My inter set rest periods had always been very erratic but this app keeps me on track with rest periods customisable for each exercise. Also increased volume since using the app which is encouraging as I near my 70th birthday 😁.Version: 5.15.15

Can track the same way I would on a notepad :DAlthough I can create my own exercise for calisthenics exercise variations like handstand push-up, there’s no way to track the variation I am completing, e.g pike pushups, chest to wall handstand push-ups etc, which means I write these down separately in notes This could be solved with a serrate exercise category for calisthenics exercise variations and maybe allow the user to assign a variation to a number. E.g handstand push-up = , wall handstand push-up = 2, elevated pike push-up = 3 as a way of tracking intensity.Version: 5.15.18

Brilliant AppThis is the first time I’ve ever been compelled to write a review for an app, but Strong is amazing and deserves to be better known. The controls and features are so intuitive, the design is clean and straightforward to use, pretty much everything I was looking for. If you’re new to working out; this is the best solution out there to demystifying a lifting program. Seriously devs, 10/10, can’t thank you enough..Version: 5.11.10

Fantastic app, hoping for more exercises!Very happy with this app, including the ability to sign up for PRO with a once of purchase. To many companies are forcing the subscription model these days, not a comfortable option for students and young families! I can see the continued support in the update progress. Am hoping when I upgrade that I will get access to a larger exercise library, but am happy enough to be able to create my own notes. Does the ‘Strong’ team continue to update the exercise list with one or two new ones every month?.Version: 5.15

Unbelievable!!Literally the best app out there for training, tracking progress and saving your workouts! It even has new suggestion for exercises I have never done before! No more manual little pocket book which I lost and had to be forced to go digital, glad I found “Strong”! Why didn’t I do this like years and years ago was the question I kept asking myself!!.Version: 5.14.2

Great attention to detail - missing a few key metricsThe app is fantastic, opinionated in its execution but flexible enough to allow anyone to structure their own routines. Marking workout sets, RPE, custom exercises, double volume for dumbbells etc. just great. The one set of features that would be a huge addition would be further analytics. Exercises are already labelled as leg, chest, etc but nowhere in the app can you inspect % split across these areas I.e past month has been 50% legs based on volume. Similar metrics such as total volume per workout (regardless of routine) is not presented either. The data is there, it just isn’t presented in these formats...yet :).Version: 5.14.2

Best workout appI’ve tried many workout apps for keeping track of my workouts and progressive overload, this app make it so much easier now I don’t need to remember what weight I was pressing or squatting the app does it all for you. Complete with warm up Sets and failed sets even Delia’s set too you can even add your own workouts like reverse hypers or Donkey Calf Raises etc. all in all a top, sleek, streamlined, easy to use app, I will use this forever.... CHEERS!!.Version: 5.7

Great for logging gym workoutsI recently purchased an Apple Watch to help track my overall fitness goals. After playing around with several nutrition and workout apps, I settled on this one for logging my gym routine. I already have a detailed workout plan but constantly stopping to write down my sets, reps and weight was becoming burdensome. This app has made it so much easier to log everything and the rest timer helps me to not waste time or take too long breaks. My biggest complaint is that I can only create three routines without upgrading. I wish there were a way to pay a flat fee for a few more services as I don’t have a need or desire for all the extras that come with a subscription. My other complaint is the lack of tracking of calories burned. Other apps I have looked at gave me an estimate on how many calories I was burning based on the weight, sets and reps. This app seems to use my heart rate which is not, in my opinion, accurate at all. It makes it harder to get a clear picture of what I have actually used versus my consumption. Sorry for the long review but those are my biggest grievances. Other than that I love the ease of use and how I can go back and for the between my phone and watch as it syncs together..Version: 5.13.1

Best app ever for workoutsI’ve cycled through my fair share of workout apps trying to find the perfect one for me. The biggest problem I’ve run across with most apps is the difficulty/loss of function I have when I use it on my Apple Watch. This one, however, is not the case. It is super easy to create workouts and add exercises mid-workout (on the watch). The countdown timer helps keep me on track and is easy to adjust while I’m between sets. It keeps track on my PRs and I have the option to update my routines at the end of my workout, which I love because I make minor tweaks each workout, including the order. Finally-tech support is AMAZING. I noticed a glitch this morning and emailed the developer. I got a super quick response and by the evening they had an update that fixed the glitch. All the while, they kept me in the loop which is much appreciated..Version: 5.11.1

Great appMy no 1 go to for recording my gym sessions. Couple of things I would like to see In the future: 1. Customisable bell sound on timer - I want to hear yeaaahhh buddy lightweight once my rest time is over so I know to get back to it 2. The total weight lifted in the week as a widget 3. Importable templates so you can share your templates with your mates 4. Some form of social so you can see what your mates have or haven’t been doing even a group setting would be good. 5. Custom workouts need to be divided to more detail so arms should be tricep / bicep - legs - calf /quads ect.Version: 5.15.15

Best workout trackerI have never left a review for an app…. EVER So you know this app is good if I’m going out of my way to write about it. I am a competitive power lifter and no application has compared to this one. It’s incredibly helpful for keeping track of my progress and being able to look back and figure out how much weight to lift depending on how my previous numbers have looked. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an app that lets you record the RPE (rate of perceived exertion) either which allows you to calculate just how much you can lift. I have often added in my own workouts that are not in the database (such as paused reps). I honestly recommend this app to any of my friends and peers that workout whether they are new or seasoned gym goers. The fact that there are no ads and you can still get a whole lot of use out of the app without needing to upgrade to premium is definitely a plus..Version: 5.15.18

Simple and conciseI cannot see myself using any other app to track and plan gym routines! I love that there aren’t extra features being pushed (e.g., connect with friends, receive coaching). All I want to do is track the weight used in each set and document how many sets of each exercise I’ve done. So far, the app hasn’t failed to provide trackers for the exercises I typically do for each body area, and I love that variations with barbell, dumbbells, resistance bands, and machines are included for each type of activity. This helps me more accurately track the difficulty of my workouts - something I’ve always found annoying when keeping a pen and paper log is now streamlined and really neat-looking. One thing I cannot speak to is the pre-set templates as I prefer to create my own since I workout in a small gym with limited equipment. On that note though, it’s great that the app allows you to save the templates you’ve created so you can build on them as your strength increases or boredom kicks in!.Version: 5.15.11

Instructional video doesn’t match the instructions (writing)For example, the front squat exercise shows a different placement of where your hands should go than the written instructions. This is inconvenient because then I have to go to safari and look up how to hold the barbell EVEN THOUGH i am PAYING for the app. Please correct this so that other newbies don’t have to be inconvenienced. Thanks, you guys still get 4 stars..Version: 5.11.10

Great App, Even Better SupportBeen using the app for quite some time now and absolutely love it. So easy to create your own workouts to use and you can track pretty much everything. Super simple to see your recorded weight, weight from last workout if you want to increase, etc. The part I like most is the interaction via my Apple Watch. Love being able to start my workouts from my watch and record any weight/rep changes as I go and best of all a built in rest timer so I don’t wait too long in between sets. Had a hiccup this last update for iOS 13 release but I contacted support letting them know of the issue I was having with the app crashing on my Apple Watch and the response was quick. They let me know they were aware of the issue and already working on a fix to roll out for it. Was contacted again as soon as they released the fix to make sure it fixed my issue, which it did. Couldn’t ask for better support for an app. Bottom line, just get this app, you won’t regret it..Version: 5.11.1

Good but could be greatThis is actually a very good app for logging workouts and tracking progress by exercise. I have been lifting weights regularly since 2004 but have never really tracked my workouts or progress other than in my head. Its hard to describe but by using this I can visually see my progress which adds a new dimension of motivation to every lift to do better than the last time. Functionality of the app is excellent with the ability to add your own custom exercises not in the database being the best. The ability to add notes to all the exercises and edit the workouts during and after is a huge plus. Premium content is worth the $5 a month but could have a little more customization. Maybe choosing what you want to chart instead of just max weight. Would also be very good to be able to set goals on each exercise to see right next to the exercise name. Overall excellent app, highly recommend!!.Version: 5.14.2

AmazingI’ve used so many apps like this and all of them have not delivered. This app is perfect for me on all areas, customisation is endless and the ability to mix GVT with others styles of training is great. When training and using the app to keep track is really easy and the timer integration is great, you can even modify the exercises and ad to them in real-time while training. A small thing that I really like is the ability to amend a completed workout as I forgot to mark a completed set before finishing the workout, so the stats would not have been accurate in history. Also, if you are working on a new exercise you’ve not done before, just click on the title within the routine you’re doing and you can watch a little how to video or view a photo. Some people have said it eats battery life but I’ve not found this to be true, it probably has more to do with the degradation of the batter than the app. Brilliant app I’m subscribing and I think it’s worth the money, lots of work must have gone into this..Version: 5.13.1

This app rocks!Best app for logging workouts I’ve ever used. Everything just makes sense. Super intuitive UI! Somehow manages to be extremely easy while super flexible at the same time. Very easy to make changes to templates on the fly or change up your workout with zero friction. Really important for me because when I’m in the zone I want to focus on my sets, not fumbling around a logging app. Prior to Strong I was manually taking notes because the apps I’ve used were too rigid or the UI sucked. Manually taking notes is OK, but annoying to have to go and find the previous weight you used or what you did last for an exercise. With Strong, there’s no flipping through notes or scrolling a notes app. All the info is exactly where you want it. I love that I can export my data as a CSV, too. Hats off to the devs cause this app is incredible. It took me one day of use before upgrading to pro and I have zero regrets..Version: 5.15.18

Best app for workout logsCan’t say enough nice things about the app. Love the Apple Watch feature and rest timer. This is the only workout logs I will ever need :) excellent customer service team as well. thanks for all your great work, Strong!.Version: 5.0.1

Great appSimple is good create your own workout plans and great tracking.Version: 5.15.18

Great, but has some bugLove the app overall, especially the fact that I don't need to have my phone with me in a gym anymore and can keep track of everything from my Apple watch. However, repeatedly facing 2 annoying bugs. First is that every time my Apple watch syncs up I always see duplicate workout in a history for that day. Second bug I encountered is that one of my workouts suddenly appears to have another circle of same exercises for some reason. For example if I have workout with 1. Squats 2. Leg press, in history it also adds 3. Squats 4. Leg press and populates it with values from 1 & 2. How do I fix this?.Version: 5.15.18

Great for tracking progressSuper helpful with an easy interface and lots of exercises available.Version: 5.10.5

Best Workout App. Period.I recommend this app to everyone at the gym. Strong makes it so easy to track your progress. I love the ability to pin charts to my home page and being able to track different variables of my training, such as increase in volume and when I break my PRs. Strong also has the best customer support team. Quick replies to emails and keen to help. I can’t rate this app enough!.Version: 5.11.6

Best Watch App I’ve UsedI love this app, I do alternative training using Mace, Clubs, Sandbags etc so needed an app I could add manually to and this does the job. What I didn’t anticipate is that I could do a complete workout without my phone and just my Watch Ultra…rest periods guide you through your workout, save your reps and sets which you can add or remove on the fly. The only comments I’d make are I’d like to be able to add reps as seconds and also templates are called routines on the watch and it’s very confusing when you first start using the app as on the face of it they are different things and you can’t find routines on the app and you can’t find templates on the watch. Otherwise, if you work out…get this app..Version: 5.15.20

Fantastic AppBest I’ve used. Easy, fast, heaps of options. Just awesome..Version: 5.12

IPhone app is great , Apple Watch not there yet.I have been using this app on iPhone for awhile now and I really like it. I put a template for each workout and can store them in folders based on the program I’m using. It is easy to use and update while working out. I like that I can see what I did last time and what is planned for this workout. I have been considering an Apple Watch for some time now and finally decided to buy one based on the Strong app being available for Apple Watch. I thought it would be great to not have to pull my phone out after each set. However, I find it difficult to track my workout on the watch. I realized I was reverting to using my phone. For me, one thing that would make the watch experience much better would be a keyboard input instead of a scroll bar. Not sure what I’m doing wrong but when I input, for example, number of reps for a set it seems like the app wants to return to an earlier set. I have high hopes for this app on Apple Watch and the ability to keep my phone in my pocket. Maybe in a future release..Version: 5.15.13

Perfect workout tracking appI use the free version of Strong regularly to track gym workouts, and I love it. It’s intuitive to use, and has a beautiful design and has plenty of useful features — plus, it’s free of ads and general bloat. If you want to log your exercise so you can track your progress over time, I can’t recommend it enough. (I’ve used Strong for about 3 weeks — if my experience changes, I’ll try to update this accordingly).Version: 5.15.17

Hands down, best fitness app.I’ve been training for the better part of 10 years. Used all methods, from pen and paper, to the majority of the fitness apps that are on the AppStore. Strong does it all, and more. Lightweight, Apple Watch compatibility and the ability to track and monitor anything that might interest you. Look no further, the only app required for your time in the gym..Version: 5.10.1

Simplicity is it's strengthIt just has everything you will ever need. Like: the end of rest alarm is loud so you can hear it above music Dislike: a tough one! If I was going to be split hairs I would say the checkboxes for completing a set could be bigger. I use fingered gloves when doing weights as I have a hand injury from football and when I pull a glove off to hit the checkbox I'm juggling a phone and glove so miss the checkbox sometimes..Version: 4.22

Great but could be bestNaturally Strong has to be one of the best apps on the market and there are so many well thought out features. In order to make it the best app on the market I’d love to see the rest timer support the dynamic island and for workouts/ timers to be synced with the watch app widget when using my phone to work out..Version: 5.15.18

Great App, needs to fix keyboard bugAmazing app that I have been using for two years with almost no issues. The one thing is that whenever I go to the exercises tab I can’t exit it once I begin typing. The keyboard never seems to go away meaning I can’t switch between tabs at the bottom. The only way to resolve this is to close the app entirely. Other than that, it’s a great app.Version: 5.15.18

Should grow a little more overtimeFor the last five years Strong has been my faithful gym companion. I love the fact that it’s a bare-bones app made for people who know what they’re doing. My gripes are few but significant. 1) When editing a custom routine, you can remove exercises from a superset, but you cannot add exercises to a superset. I’m order to do that you have to delete the entire routine and enter the whole thing again from scratch. This is incredibly annoying as you can’t add to your routine “on the fly”. 2) Rest timers are assigned to an exercise, regardless of which routine it’s in. As in some of my routines take a 5 second to 2 minute timer, depending on which routine it is in, this is frustrating. 3) I really wish kettlebell exercises could be entered as such. (I have to designate them as dumbbell exercises). It would be very helpful to us “Kettlebellers” to be able to designate an exercise as a “Kettlebell” exercise and indicate whether single or double Kettlebells are used..Version: 5.15.18

Great kit but plenty more to offerAlways room for development. Otherwise a useful app for keeping a track of your lifts. Examples include: *option to set timer up for individual templates *possibility to set a custom value for weight instead of fixed bars: some machines already weigh x amount e.g incline chest press weighs 11kg, would be great to take this into consideration. *cluster sets to join other types of training like pyramid and failure. *auto warm sets for compounds rather than manually doing this each time. *after finishing a set, the plate guide for warmups should automatically pop up..Version: 5.15.1

Look no further!I don't remember how I found Strong, but after trying countless apps, and spreadsheets on my phone I found the perfect companion app for the gym. The developers are also active and very responsive to suggestions and feedback. If you're serious about losing weight, building strength and hitting personal goals in the gym this is the app for you..Version: 5.5.4

High RecommendI think this app is the perfect workout app for all lifters. It’s simple, but efficient. The app is not perfect in anyway, but it has a lot of potential. I highly recommend that you download this app if you’re looking to stay on track and organized during your lift. Some quality of life I would like to see added to the app is for notes to carry over when you send a workout to a friend. I think a friends feature would be very beneficial as well. It would make sending workouts to other gym bros a lot more convenient!.Version: 5.15.18

Good appI have liked the continues improvements to the app and the most recent changes allowing you to select and view a workout without having to start the workout is nice. I do wish that pinned notes for exercises only applies within the workout that exercise is in so that if you use the same exercise in another workout routine and want different notes for that same exercise but in a different routine you can as opposed to the same notes showing up for that exercise in all routines. Especially since the other notes option only shows notes made during that workout session. I would like an option for notes for a specific exercise within a workout that remain just in that workout where I can make different notes on the same exercise in a different workout that won’t show up on that exercise in another workout. Other than that detail, I really like the app..Version: 4.25

Great app for working outI use this app to track my lifting progress in the gym. Whereas in the past I would rely on memory, now I can see how much progress I’m making week to week and how much weight I should be using to maintain that progression. The rest timer is also useful..Version: 5.15.18

Great App, minor bug recentlyMy exercise notes keep getting lost and aren’t saved from workout to workout and sometimes even when the notes are made on the template level..Version: 5.15.23

Loving This AppI’ve been looking for an app to help track my workouts and this one suited my needs the best. I like to create my own workouts with cardio and weight lifting, and couldn’t find anything that did a decent job without costing a fortune in monthly fees. After a few weeks of using this app I can honestly say it’s great! I love how easy it was to set up and use, and the interface looks like something apple would make. One feature I find useful is the “always on” screen. I don’t have to unlock my phone after each set or exercise, which adds to the smoothness of this app. Also, I’m in the IOS beta program currently running IOS 14.2 and haven’t had any issues. I’m not sure why this app isn’t more popular, but it should be. Great job developers!!! Thanks for a great product. 👍😊.Version: 5.13.1

Lifesaver in the gymBest app I’ve used for tracking workouts and it makes life a lot easier in the gym! Very intuitive and makes tracking complicated programs a lot easier..Version: 4.23

Excellent appThis is the most comprehensive fitness app I’ve used & STRONGly recommend it to anyone who is serious about tracking progress. Clearly it was made by Forbes fanatics - it’s very well designed. My favourite features: 1. Building a workout for tracking takes very little time - you can choose from an extensive library, add your own items, or pick from a plan. 2.Tracking workouts is easy. I inputted my program & use the app to track each day. The previous values are carried through & updates, and PRs are automatically tracked & highlighted at the completion of a workout, along with total volume of weight lifted. The ‘additional note’ feature, rest timer, warm up & drop set labels make it very simple to capture anything you might want. You can also update your workout on the fly, and at the end of your session you are promoted to choose whether you want to update your workout with changes. 3. This app allows you track body fat, body measurements, body fat, calories and more. This makes graphing progress on the data points important to you very easy. Truly a great app - worth every penny of the subscription price!.Version: 5.11.5

Minor possible improvementsAbsolutely love this app to track my workouts, and I’ve loved using the rest timer. However, it is tough to see the timer when your phone is switched off, or when you’re not using headphones, to hear or see the rest timer end. Hence, I suggest creating a live activity for the app itself, so you can add and edit the workouts and see your rest timer on the lock screen (with always on).Version: 5.15.23

GreatI wanted something that would be able to log my sets on my Apple Watch and sync over the cloud to save and view on my phone. I can also track my progress with charts and graphs. I can also set a rest timer between sets and create my own workouts while creating new ones if they aren’t there already to pick from. I downloaded all the apps on the App Store to see which one can meet my needs and this one is it..Version: 5.15.23

Lifetime MembershipI purchased this through the lifetime membership and certainly don’t regret it. Works great for tracking exercises, weight and other things. Perfect for progressive overload. Would definitely recommend!.Version: 5.14.3

Better than expectedI have tried a few fitness apps to record programs and training progress. Most require $$$ memberships or lack flexibility but Strong really surprised me. It syncs to my Apple Watch easily, updates my progress, tracks my workouts and all without paying a cent! I am sure it would do more with the subscription and I wish my trainers would get on board, their app doesn’t work nearly as well! Nice work ladies and gents!.Version: 5.5.4

ExcellentI rarely leave reviews, but I’ll make an exception here. Strong is, in my opinion, the best training app on the market. I’ve tried about 6 or 7 others over the last 5 years, but they either don’t let you add your own exercises/workouts, or don’t offer syncing between devices. Strong also allows you to create unlimited folders for workouts, which I love as you can better organise your routine. 10/10.Version: 5.11.5

PerfectPerfect to track progress it’s exactly what i was looking for.Version: 5.4

Very good overallI like everything about this app except when you make a workout I can’t find an option to change the order of exercises. This may be due to it not being clear how to do it or maybe there is not that function but it is kinda annoying. More charts would be cool too. I bought the Pro version for life regardless..Version: 5.15.18

Good app, would like to see a couple of featuresThis is the closest to perfect for my needs. Thankfully they don’t overwhelm you with irrelevant information that you aren’t interested in. Many of just want an accurate way to track our workout process. I love the fact that RPE is included and that I can log all my workouts on my Apple Watch. One thing I’d love to see is a ‘body part’ volume widget. I love that I can track my volume for each workout but it’d be great if we could track weekly volume of for example, chest, arms, legs, etc. That’s the last thing that I have to track manually. The pricing structure is a little frustrating but if you’re serious about lifting I’d just try it out for a short while and see if you like it, when my current subscription runs out I’ll just buy a lifetime one. Expensive, yes, but tracking your workouts is so important to progress that you’d be a fool not to..Version: 5.9

The absolute standard! This is only my 2nd or 3rd review, ever. I’ve been using this app for 9 years. It was great then, and it’s incredible now. The author is constantly updating it and adding new features, without making it cluttered. That’s what makes this app so good; it’s simplicity. Over the years I’ve been using the app, I’ve gone through many “phases” of workouts. Everything from Bodybuilding, Powerlifting, CrossFit, and currently Gymnastic body weight stuff (hey, I’m getting old. 🤷‍♂️) Thanks to the ability to build custom routines and exercises, the strong app has been the best tracker I’ve come across for any type of workout genre. I use the pinned notes feature extensively. It has all the features you want and none that you don’t. It just works. -To the creators: Thanks for grandfathering is old-timers in. It’s very much appreciated. I feel like I won the lottery by stumbling upon this gem so early..Version: 5.13.1

Best workout tracking appI absolutely love this app. The integration between Apple Watch and the app makes it that much easier to use. Love the tracking of 1 rep max, max volume and weights etc My only wish would be that they add more exercises / equipment so that I don’t have to create my own custom ones quite so often. Feature requests: ability to share a workout with others who use the same app would be cool. Or to check on their progress if given permission by them to see it would be fun. Mostly, would like to see more native exercises added to library. Apple Watch: wish I could hard press or scroll to start a timer. Supersets still have a timer between sets but would be nice to have a different default for superset timer. Wish it was easier to create a superset on the app after you’ve already added two exercises but forgot to mark them as superset while adding (easy work around is to do it on the watch instead)..Version: 5.15.23

Decent work out appThis app is exactly what I have been looking for to keep my workouts organized. It gets rid of the old pen and pad nonsense and offers selections of muscle groups to build a workout. The app provides you with your more common exercises that most people would include in their routines and also gives you demonstrations with details on how to conduct the exercise. Records the length of the workout, reps, sets that you can check off as you go to stay on track and lets you know PRs after the workout is finished. You are able to create routines for daily use and share with other users who have the app as well. I use this app particularly to send my girlfriend workouts during the week. I give it a 4 because I would like more workout options to choose from but I’m not sure If it’s only because I am still in the 2 month free trail window and will get access to more by paying but over all it’s a good app that gives you a whole 2 months to try it for free which is a plus for me..Version: 5.11.5

GratefulI’m not one to write reviews but this app is actually the best. I haven’t upgraded but I’m ridiculously tempted it’s that good. Anyone wanting a little more motivation, seeing your workouts in numbers, needing a place to keep track rather than carrying a book around, this is so perfect. I felt so lost at the gym for so long and this has just amped up my focus and the rest timer has saved me from those procrastination minutes that just drain away. Definitely recommend to give it a go! Thanks for creating such a gem!.Version: 5.10.4

One of the best weight tracking apps out there! This app can give you what many of the others struggle with: - an easy display yet looks good, to set up workouts and records your weights and sets. - The feature to add in dropsets/failure sets/warmup sets is something not a lot of the other apps have and I must say this is a nice addition! - the ability to be able to switch tabs and see your history and progress charts at a glance mid workout is brilliant. - this app is perfect for someone who just wants to set up their routine, record their progress and get on with it. Negatives - the price: surely you’d have so many more subscribers if you just dropped this to a reasonable level in line with the rest of the market? This is a great app because you haven’t overcomplicated or crammed in too many unneeded features like your competitors. No sensible person is going to pay £100 for an app to record weights and sets. - Are you build in -/+ weights for weighted assistance exercises so one can go from assisted to weighted and still track their progress? - The charts & progress graphs could do with a bit of development, look very basic. (For the price you’re asking for you should have the best analytics out there) This is a great app overall..Version: 4.27.3

DecentI am using paid version, it’s pretty decent to be fair. Timer is great, no more messing around finding the timer on Apple Watch. Gives clear concise next steps when doing your sets set and the next set upcoming which is great. I like the fact you can actually change the weight lifted during workout incase you fancy a progressive overload set. Noticed the widgets don’t work too great mainly calorie intake per day, it’s suppose to pull this from my fitness pal. It doesn’t work even with all the permissions, logged a case with them around that and suppose to be fixing in next update. Reporting could be better, it’s done per exercise. Would be nice if you can pull report overall on the workouts your doing from the templates, instead of adding widgets and removing them when you want stats..Version: 5.15.10

AmazingBest app ever for tracking gym and measurements. I’ve been using the paid version for a while now and love it. Definitely worth the money. I will definitely buy the one off payment when I can afford it! One question for the developers: Can you please please please add a pause button for the workout? There’s been occasions where I’ve needed to go to the bathroom or recieved a phone call while training and I can’t pause the clock so it gives an inaccurate time for my whole training..Version: 5.15.8

Good appEnjoying the app, it keep me the rest in time, and I can see the progress in each excersice👍🏻.Version: 5.12

Four years and Strong hasn’t let me downThis is the first app I have ever reviewed because it is that good… and I just had a great customer service experience. I have been using Strong in the gym off and on for over four years. I am not a trainer or an athlete just an everyday person who exercises. I find Strong very motivating. In this day of tech it’s an easy way to track workouts and see progress. I’ve had very few problems with Strong, in fact I can’t think of one, it’s good value and worth what I pay for it. There are some features that I would like to see in future versions. The ability to edit the exercise name or category of personally added exercises, sometimes the variation of an exercise changes (e.g. reps only might change to dumbbells or body weight might become assisted or weighted). The ability to add an exercise to an existing superset would also be useful. The rest timer is great but an option for a duration timer would be great! Keep up the great work(outs)..Version: 5.15.18

Constant improvements make this my go to workout appHave been using Strong for a couple years, and at first the UI was more cumbersome to use than a simple pad and pencil. However after submitting feedback to developers and checking the interface updates, it’s clear they take user feedback seriously. They’ve taken every gripe I had seriously and the new UI flow is effortless whether you’re building workouts on the fly or trying to program templates ahead of time. The workout history at a glance also shows me a tabulated list of workouts at what weights sets and reps to make sure I change it up in the current workout. A lot of great features are built in, but none that I use much of. For me, effortless and intuitive UI flow is everything. For once I can say I no longer need to bring the journal and pencil to the gym 👌🏼.Version: 5.0.2

Great app... Apple Watch app needs slight improvementI’ve used Strong for years and it’s really helped me improve my workouts. The only thing that continues to bother me is all the steps needed to take when finishing a workout on the watch app. Maybe I’m missing something in settings, but PLEASE add a way to streamline when finishing a workout on the watch. You have to hit finish workout, and then done, and then if your routine was any different than what was previously saved, there’s an option to either “keep original workout routines, or update to new routine”. Something to that effect. I’d really appreciate it if we could change that in settings to always keep original workouts. Or just make it less steps in general. I know It’s just a small annoyance, but coupled with a slight loading time after I hit each option it really slows down completing a workout. Otherwise love the app and continued updates!.Version: 5.10.5

Everything Everyone NeedsEvery fitness app restricts some kind of essential feature that should be free. Strong is what you need, for free. Sure, there are features that need to be paid for but they aren't ESSENTIAL to your workout progress. I simply use the app to create exercises and use them, no tracking of my nutrients and all that jazz. And this app does it the best. I've been here since pretty much day 1 and this app is amazing. I would just like to thank and congratulate the developers of this app for such an amazing job and not MAKING people pay for a service that will help people become their best selves. Thank you and fantastic job!.Version: 5.13.1

Love it 12APR21 EDIT:Edit 12APR21: A companion website would be great because I make a bunch of different workouts (my workout, my PT Plan, 2 clients that I workout with, etc) and doing them on my phone can get cumbersome. A website would help me build them a lot faster. I absolutely love this app. Super easy and straight forward. I love being able to add my own exercises to it. I like tracking my history with certain lifts. Even having the preprogrammed exercises that tell you how to preform it is super helpful. My only annoyance is building the supersets. There’s no option to add an exercise to a superset or make a superset without going back into the list of exercises and tapping them and then hitting the superset button. For instance, if I’m building a superset and I miss an exercise I have to delete the old one and make an entire new set. That is literally my only issue with this app. Other than I absolutely love it..Version: 5.15

Hands down the best workout trackerI bought this app back before it became a subscription, and I just want to thank the developer for honouring my (and everyone else’s) purchases. This app was great when I bought it, and it has only gotten better over the years. The dev listens to the users, and frequently updates! No matter what you’re looking for in a workout tracker, this will deliver. Large library of workouts (and it seems to be getting larger) with examples, so beginners will be well served. If you’re seasoned in the gym, you can mine graphs and data points of best sets, reps etc over time to see how your progress is going. The app also works with home kit, and Apple Watch. Has a built in customizable test timer which automatically starts when you log a set. I honestly can’t even list everything here, but trust me and the other reviews when I tell you, this is the most comprehensive workout app on the App Store. Easiest five star I’ve ever given!.Version: 5.11.5

Easy and clean. Would like rep calculator.Nice and easy to set up workouts and keep track of rest, sets, and reps. I’ve been using this since January now, and it’s the only program I’ve actually stuck with. It does compute a 1 rep max under each exercise, but it would be awesome to have the ability to calculate other RMs like 10RM. Would make moving to different rep schemes and weights much simpler. Update: Still really loving this app. I’ve logged 197 workouts with it now. Simple; clean; easy to set up exercises, sets, reps, and supersets; ability to set up custom exercises, and a steady update of new exercises added to the Strong library. I also really love the built in rest timer. And the ability to reorder or add in sets on the fly. Sometimes the weights or machines just aren’t available and it’s nice to be able to just reorder the exercises or sub in something. I particularly like that there are a couple of exercises I had put in as custom ones and later Strong added them to their library, and I could just migrate all my previous data to the new exercise with literally two button clicks. Very nice. I’ve used this to track 5x5, S&S, some odd one-off workouts (Husband’s Dislocated Finger etc lol), and high volume work. Would still like the RM calculator for more than just 1RM..Version: 5.7.1

EXCELLENT WORKOUT APPI have been looking for a great workout app to keep track of my progress and this app offers everything I have been looking for, plus more! It is perfect for all levels, beginner or pro, as the workouts have instructions on how to perform them with the correct form for better muscle to mind connection and reducing risk of injury. I would suggest adding an option for an auto rest timer after each set, as well as an Apple Watch app, it is a bit of a hassle having to open my phone to press the tick button for each set. OVERALL IT IS A PERFECT WORKOUT APP!!.Version: 5.15.12

Best App I’ve FoundI’ve downloaded more than a dozen workout apps and spent significant time with about a half dozen. This is by far the best that I’ve found for daily weight-training workout. It is flexible enough for a wide range of resistance-training routines. Once you set up your routines on your iPhone app, you can easily start and track your weights and reps from the Apple Watch, which is wonderful. I still usually bring my phone with me for quicker data entry and easier ability to tweak routines. I also can share my workout with my wife and workout partner so that if I go to the gym alone in the morning, they can do the same routine as me (and see my weights). I really appreciate the ability to share workouts. They’ve even made it so you can start workouts with Siri shortcuts, “Hey Siri, start leg day” etc. I’ve been using this app daily for more than a month as has my wife. The free version of the app is totally usable. We both have upgraded to the annual subscription, primarily to support the developer for an incredible app but also we like the additional features. Yet, if you are looking for a fully functional free app, this works too..Version: 5.8

Game changer! This is the first app I’ve used for working out, and I am so glad I downloaded it. I love that I’ve been able to learn new workouts and create a routine. Having a checklist that you work through helps in a major way, especially since working out is pretty boring usually. The app makes it easy to see what you did previously, so it’s easy to push the weights higher and higher. The only issue I’ve had so far, is that I’d like to be able to upload photos for new workouts I create. So far strong has done a great job at making videos showing how to perform workouts and which muscles are worked, but not for every thing. You can create a new workout and label it, but I can’t seem to add a photo. Pro features don’t appear to mention this either unfortunately. Still giving this 5 stars and I’m about to upgrade to Pro. But I’d love if they would add that feature..Version: 5.12.2

Fantastic AppI’ve tried every app out there and always ended up going back to using the iPhone notepad because they lacked flexibility or wouldn’t be able to handle the way I wanted to do something. Strong somehow manages to give you the flexibility to track gym progress in your own personal way, while at the same time ensuring that the data is in a framework that allows it to track progress over time. It really is perfect and I use it 5x a week..Version: 5.15.18

Best Training AppI’ve used others in the past, however I feel this has a much easier interface and plenty of support when looking for new exercises including how to perform them. It made tracking my progress so easy!!!.Version: 5.15.18

FOR THOSE THAT LIKE TO TRAIN IN A REAL GYM OR FITNESS CENTER-Easiest and CustomizableI’ve tried them all and wanted to integrate with my Apple Watch....for bodybuilders, Athletes and Fitness Enthusiasts this application does everything you need including drop sets, rest time with alarm, Failure, add sets weight amount and your reps easy! I would like to see them add all types of training techniques such as “Forced Reps”, “Eccentric Reps” etc...for now I use the NOTES feature right under the Title for Type of Exercise. Another recommendation would be to have the ability to add the amount of weight you used and the number of reps for your drop set. Again for now you could use the NOTES feature but it gets confusing especially if you are doing more than 1 drop set or super set for that matter. Anyway these guys are on the right track and nothing interrupts you line ads while training. I do like the app for the most part and with some additions it will be perfect.Version: 5.12

My go-to strength training tracker - Now on Apple Watch!Clean, uncluttered, intuitive, and with great timers, charting, and export options. Strong is simply the best workout tracker on the App Store. Now it's on the Apple Watch I couldn't ask for anything more. Strong also passes data back to the Health App, so if you're tracking your meals with something like MyFitnessPal, tracking your workout with the Strong on the Apple Watch app will add your burned kilojoules to your daily allowances. Brilliant when you're cutting for summer..Version: 5.4

Actually a great, simple workout appLoving this app and it just works really well for what I need. Everything you need, nothing you don’t :).Version: 5.10.2

Almost perfectThis app is amazing. I love it honestly. But there’s one small change I’d love to see, when updating a template after my workout I would love to chose what sets I keep as my previous stats from the workout before I change to my new stats. This would allow me to keep track of my best sets so I can continually know if I improve on my best instead of what I did last week when it wasn’t better then my best. For example if I did 80kg of bench press for 10 reps on week A then I did 60Kg for 5 reps on week B, I’d love to keep my previous as my best set of 80Kg for 10 reps instead of it updating to 60Kg for 5 reps. If you get what I mean.Version: 5.15.8

5 starsVery good selection of exercises I like that you have the option to buy premium for one price instead of a subscription Easy to plan out workouts.Version: 5.11.5

App does great things for my data driven mindThe title sums it up. I love seeing my progress charted, I just wish there was more data recording available. For example I was sick with a stomach bug for a week and it would be cool to be able to see that recorded somewhere in one of the graphs so my strength decline afterwards would make more sense. :).Version: 5.11.5

Not completing all exercises in a routine on watch deletes them from the routineEdit: Fixed!! Thank you, Strong! Got 2 more people using it in the last week. Hey! I love this app! I use it every day and tell people in my classes to use it! The new update has a really bad bug though. It breaks my use case. I use the new watch with data, so I don’t have to bring my phone with me to the gym. I only use the watch and I log everything on the watch. When I perform a routine and do not perform an exercise or two, those exercises that are not performed are deleted from the routine after save!! I have to go and add them back every time. This breaks my use case. For example, my Tuesday routine contains abs, chest and triceps. I normally load the routine and do abs before I teach my spin class, save routine, then load the routine again after class to do my chest and triceps. But when I opened the routine after spin, the chest and triceps exercises are gone! This has happened every time. Even after I go back and fix it, they are removed again. Please fix!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ll change to 5 stars for fixing..Version: 5.2

Watch app needs some workThe application is, overall, good; however, the value for me is Apple Watch integration, and Strong falls short. I find the Watch app frequently “resets” and requires syncing with the phone, and this has (literally) taken hours. While testing it in Test Flight, it would break regularly so I went back to the production version. I still had to sync it on a daily basis. With the latest version, it no longer works AT ALL. This severely lessens the value as a pro subscriber. This bug needs to get fixed ASAP..Version: 5.14

Best App EverI love Strong App. It’s super intuitive and fun to work with - fantastic updates that always surprise me. It’s my workout partner. Viv - Auckland, New Zealand 🇳🇿.Version: 5.0.2

This is the app I needed!Recently purchased another fitness app which didn’t cut the mustard in my opinion and is significantly more expensive! It got me thinking there must be an app that tracks your workouts and is fully customisable to the equipment I have at home?... This is that app! As soon as I opened it I knew this was what I was after, even had a few suggested workouts based around a push/pull/legs plan (which shows it’s not just bodged together IMO). Really easy to program your own workouts, planned mine for my first week of my own program in about 5 minutes. Just did the first workout, it tracked everything really nicely, times it too which is nice, gives you a nice layout of everything at the end. I can see how it will really work for me moving forward! Cancelling the other app subscription, this is the one! Would absolutely recommend to anyone working out at home at the moment that knows how to plan their own program and needs to map it around what they have..Version: 5.14.1

The best but too much for one off paymentBeen using Strong 4 days a week for the past year. Nothing comes close to this for tracking your lifting. From a fellow dev, the attention to detail and effort put into the UX is massive. Couple of bugs here and there but they’re rare and usually get resolved in the next update. My only gripe, and the reason for 4 stars, is the subscription model. I know it’s possible to unlock forever for £100, however, in my opinion this is way too much. I’d happily pay £50, probably even £70 but £100 is too much for me. Slightly lower and please take my money..Version: 5.11.9

Apple Watch App Doesn’t WorkI’ll start by saying that I am an early adopter and have logged well over 600 workouts with Strong. I have no complaints with the iPhone app, it is great. My issues are with the Apple Watch app. It basically doesn’t function. It crashes multiple times every workout, almost every set. My workouts will not transfer to my phone. When I try to add exercises, it crashes. I could go on. 5 stars for the iPhone app, 1 star for the Apple Watch app. Hardware isn’t the issue, either - I’m using an XS Max and a Series 4 AW. I reached out to the support team three days ago and have yet to get a response. Happy to upgrade to five stars when they fix this. The Apple Watch app used to work great about six months ago, the last time I had an Apple Watch. It looks like right now it is suffering from the developers trying to do too much with it and not paying enough attention to its core functionality - its the software equivalent of the Galaxy Fold, if you know what I mean..Version: 5.10

Love everything about this app except one thingWonderful workout app, just what I needed. Please add the ability to create supersets after exercises have been added to the workout! I always forget to press the “superset” button or need to adjust them and always have to delete the exercise and re-add them using the superset feature..Version: 5.15.18

Perfect app for trackingThis app is absolute necessity for every gym goer..Version: 5.15.23

Keep it simpleThis app is so easy to use. It has a heap of preset exercises that you can choose from or you can add your own. Keeping track of workouts, including time and weight and most of all progress has never been easier. Love it!.Version: 5.15.14

Great AppHow do you guys feel about putting in a decimal option in the rep counter? It’d be nice to know if that last rep was a fail or a partial rep when referencing your previous workout. It’s a good app. Been subscribing for a few years now..Version: 5.15.18

Back to Being an Amazing AppI have been using Strong since version 3. I fell in love with the app straight off the bat and purchased the premium upgrade on the same day. I was not happy with the redesign to version 4 but that version showed me that the developers do care about the product. I sent emails to the guys asking for new and specific features and surprisingly enough they actually implemented some of the things I wanted. At the end of version 4 I was back to being happy. Version 5 is now here and I’m still happy. The redesign of the UI is great and matches the iOS system style. Looking forward to what else the team bring (not sure they can bring much else to a workout planner tbh).Version: 5.0.1

Love itThis is a great app for training - I’ve used it to follow my own customised weight training programme & it’s pretty handy. The timer between sets & options to watch animations of the exercises are really useful. There are a couple of flaws; it doesn’t contain animations/guide on some exercises. The app syncs & plays through the Apple Watch but it’s not that user friendly - it doesn’t disappear from the watch once you’ve told the app on your phone you’ve finished the programme. It’s frustrating & takes quite a few attempts on the watch before you can close the app on it..Version: 5.5

Simply the only optionI’ve tired them all, every other app just seems to miss on one or two important factors. This app gives me full control, loads of options, excellent tracking, a comprehensive library of exercises, no hidden gimmicks or fees and is easy to use and slick looking. If I could pick one minor point to improve it would be to feature an online option, every cycle I plug my numbers in and it would be easier to it on a desktop, it would make analytics a little easier..Version: 5.15.23

Great app, needs updatesI have been using this for nearly 12 months, I use it every gym shesh to track my total tonnage and record my workouts. One thing I would suggest that there is to be more updates with exercises as there a lot of types of exercises that I noticed are missing. Also, to have a more friendly search - for example: Bench press (dumbbell) is quite a specific name search; if only I can sech “dumbbell press” and it would come up with the exercise, so sometimes it’s a bit of a struggle to find what I am looking for..Version: 5.10.5

PogThis app is totally lit y’all defo check this jawn out ASAP gonna change your life pronto get on this wave quick bo.Version: 5.14.3

Very goodEasy to use and helpful for my home workouts. A request to the developers: Please add in a notification that reminds you to finish the workout if you are not on the app for a certain amount of time because i always forget to finish the workout and open the app to see that’s it’s been running for 24 hours. Also a way to shorten the amount of time that it took you after finishing it in case it’s inaccurate.Version: 5.15.18

Fantastic App with excellent support!I haven’t been using this app for too long but it’s probably the best fitness/health app I’ve come across. As someone who doesn’t know fitness too well and struggles to do strength training in the gym, this app keeps me focused and on track with my workout and the reps/sets I need to do. They have a few workouts already in the app otherwise I go online, find a workout that suits my goals, and enter the exercises into my own custom workout on the app. The support are also super friendly and provide clear communication with any problems I had in a timely matter. Will definitely be recommending this app to everyone I know!.Version: 5.6.2

Beats the RestI used Fitness Pal for so long. Unfortunately, they started adding more and more barriers taking away from the free app and adding to the premium. I had already paid premium as a one off years ago and now they turned to subscription services I had to pay again. As I refused to pay I noticed more exercises disappearing from my grasp, so I searched else where… Here we have STRONG! An amazing app! Even better from the previous. I am so impressed with how easy it is to use, it’s lay out and the ability to add your own exercises. I am now an avid fan!.Version: 5.15.18

Great app, have used it for years!Feature request: I would ❤️ a total weekly volume widget. Thanks for a great app!.Version: 5.15.18

I LOVE ITPerfect app for tracking workouts. However it would be handy to be able to store workouts in folders on the home screen.Version: 4.27.3

Best app everSuper clean. Easy to use. Great progress tracking. Exactly all you need. The free version is great at an entry level and then you can buy the Premium was you are more comfortable and advanced..Version: 5.15

Strong appThis the best app I’ve got, keeps me on track by knowing exactly what I’m doing each workout and can track history. Well done on making this one..Version: 5.2.2

Good app. Watch version could use a few tweaksIt’s great that I can choose a set type on the watch (work set, warm up, etc) but once I choose it’s almost impossible to tap outside that selector so I can scroll and do other things. The rest timer on the watch is good, but I can’t do anything else while it’s running and am forced to skip it if I want to view the other exercises. I should be able to view the workout overview and exercises while the rest timer is running. You need a way to show it on the workout overview..Version: 5.11.3

This app will change the way you work outI have used this app for about 6 months, and used the PRO for about 4 months. This app is fantastic, if you go to the gym 3+ times/week then the cost is more than worth it. The app just added RPE options for sets, you can use the exercise database or make your own, and it tracks overall weight lifted (which I’ve found is motivational—at the least interesting). The app promotes progressive overload, which is super important and helpful to track. Only issue I’ve ever had with the app is that I frequently forget to end workouts. They will run in the background and the time for my workouts will be 24hrs or until I open the app again the next time I go into the gym, which messes with my statistics. However, this is a user error and in no way an issue with the app. Love this app, if you frequent the gym, I’m sure you will too..Version: 5.6

Epic!Such a great versatile format the developers have created with this app! Easy to use and intuitive… Everything is where it should be, and the ability to go into history and even share that with others… Is great! Can’t recommend this enough!.Version: 5.15.10

Best tracking appBeing new to the gym and now having been there for over 12 months, Strong is the best no frills app I have found among the main apps. Being able to easily create template workouts, find new workouts with a simple guide on how to perform the movement, as well as each exercise clearly showing me the weight and rep range used previously makes it super easy to make sure I am performing my workouts correctly..Version: 5.15.12

Very goodGreat app. Only downer is subscription based for premium. Had their been a one off purchase, I would have taken that..Version: 5.2.1

Best of the workout appsI wish I could have written back to that long rant you got. That guys cooked. This app has all you need for creating and maintaining your workout. 100% give it a go. 💪 My only request would be to make the "X" button on the number pad smaller. I seem to hit that a lot while trying to tap "0".Version: 5.10.1

Amazing App, Amazing People! My mom and I have both allowed ourselves to get so busy with life that we allowed ourselves to get off of our diets, and not be able to find time for the gym. I work on ships at sea for months at a time, so it's not always easy to eat healthy or workout. While I've been home on vacation, we have been in the gym every day, and have both been on the strictest diets. I'm down almost 40 pounds in 6 weeks, and she's also doing incredible. I don't tell you this to brag, I tell you this because your app has enabled us to continue this lifestyle when I go back to work. I had to leave last week for training, then I'll go home for a week then head back to sea. Because of your app, I was able to build some workout routines so that my mom can know exactly what exercises she needs to do each day to continue to succeed while I'm not there. You have LITERALLY set us up for success. Part of building a company and offering a product that often gets overlooked is improving people's lives. You guys have done this not only in building this product, but also in who you have chosen to represent your company on the customer service front. You are making all the right decisions. I can't tell you how much I pray for your continued success. Thank you for improving the lives of your fellow people in everything that you do..Version: 5.10.1

Great appReally helps to keep me motivated during workouts and stay focused.Version: 5.15.18

Best Workout App You Can GetI have been an avid lifter for almost 8 years, and throughout that time, I’ve tried many different workout tracking apps. No matter what I tried they all seemed to miss the mark somehow. Whether it be a bad UI, not enough exercises, poor syncing with Apple Watch, etc. With Strong, I’ve finally found the workout app that just works. The UI is fantastic, it syncs perfectly with Apple Watch, tons of exercises, weight calculator, and plenty of other features that all come together in a clean and easy to use way. In my opinion, the premium plan is well worth the cost, and I haven’t looked back after signing up for it. To anyone who goes to the gym and just wants a great, simple to use, and feature rich workout app, stop looking and just download Strong..Version: 5.15.5

Much better :)PR problem seems to be fixed now so adjusted rating. Emailed the developer a few times. Given up now. Basic calculations of number of PR’s etc do not add up at all. When the basis of lifting is to steadily increase and the app gives totally wrong results, you never know if it really was an improvement or not. The design and usability of the app is great. I’ve heard new pricing is extortionate. It’s worth a one off fee of £2.99 max. Certainly not subscription based. It’s a glorified notepad. Hopefully see some improvements in the near future and I’ll change the stars..Version: 4.24

For free this is as good as it getsHonest review here, I had some trouble determining whether I should use strong or hevy as my workout tracking app. So I ended up trying both. There very similar in having a free and pro version. (I have only tried the free versions so that’s what I am reviewing) Where hevys free version surpasses strong is in the number of exercises in their catalogue. That’s it. They also provide a graph of the amount your lifting for a given exercise, but I see this as unneeded if you are already using progressive overload. It also has a social media aspect, but once again what point does it have, you can still take photos and make notes in strong, unless you want to look at others it’s rather useless. However when it comes to strong the app outclasses hevy in every other retrospect. With the free version you can add unlimited number of your own exercises, whilst it hevy you cap out at 7. You can create as many workout templates in strong whilst with heavy you cap out at 4. The app also has a far greater user interface. Without going into detail for each point I’ll sum it up saying the app is user tested. Whether it be entering data or setting an automatic timer or creating a superset, just inputting in general it’s made easy, as if it’s tailored to the user. Whilst in heavy it just seems robust. Notifications are also much more consistent, for hevy I’d have problems, the sound was to loud or a notification wouldn’t be sent because the phone was turned off. Finally, if you care, the app has better aesthetics and sound design. Animations are smooth the workout screens are clear, and when important buttons are pressed you get haptics or sound to ensure you it has. The small details strong pays attention to add up, and this making the app that much better. Which as a whole is why I like it so much more that hevy.Version: 5.15.16

AwesomeI love this app, it is quick and easy to use. I only wish it had some sort of integration with the health app.Version: 4.25

Great app / fair priceThis is a brilliant app that’s been kept uncluttered. I’ve tried so many apps to help me record workouts and ended up ditching them because they were trying to do too much and they ended up being more of a distraction than useful. This app nails it for me, the right amount of features without being intrusive or a distraction. The watch app is useful too but mostly I’ll use it on my phone, just quicker for me. The fee is fair as well, I’ve gone for the yearly option and it works out at less than 60p a week! That’s 10p a workout! You can’t complain about that! By supporting these guys via the subs it helps them develop the app, it’s perfectly fair and I’m happy to do that (I know some people just want everything for free but you have to think of the developer sometimes) I’ve found the support team helpful and fast and I’ve recommended this to all of my friends..Version: 5.7.1

Paid for the Pro version of the app back in 2016I first downloaded this app in 2016 and decided to splurge the $5 to get the Pro version. I unfortunately fell off the workout wagon until recently. When I downloaded the app again I found quite a few things have changed since then! Most notably the subscription feature. The main reason why I really enjoyed and paid for the Pro version was that, unlike most of the others which had subscriptions, it had a simple, one time payment of $4.99 for all the features. Awesome. I logged back into my account expecting to be grandfathered in like some other people have been, but nope. Is there anyway I could get my account grandfathered in? It looks like the app has had some fantastic features added and I’m disappointed my old account I paid for has the same access as the free version. I’ve got the receipt and everything EDIT: I emailed them about the issue and they stayed true to their word about grandfathering in my account!.Version: 5.9

Best Thing Since PaperI have always had trouble using apps because I don’t want to get distracted on my phone and paper logs were always the most customizable. This app comes pretty close to the real deal, in a thoughtfully organized way. I can add rest timers, mark sets for failure Or generate warmups, and put in non-intrusive but available notes. The watch app is really well done in comparison to other apps, with a wealth of info I need laid out well. My (few) constructive criticisms are (1) I wish when setting up an exercise for time, I can set a countdown timer that logs when finished and makes a sound so I know, similar to the rest timer; (2) that some more common exercises like tricep rope pushdown, etc. makes it into the app; (3) that the app watch improves in its smooth function so I can truly leave my phone behind, and (4) that for certain cardio, like rowing, I can change the value from miles to meters, or put in resistance. However, even for missing exercises, you can create them yourself, and their library is pretty extensive, so it’s not too big of an issue..Version: 5.15.13

Amazing appStrong just just have everything what the app of this type should have. Works perfectly.Version: 5.14

One of my favourite appsSimple app to track workout/progress. Love how it seems to have been created by people who understand what we need. Please keep the simplicity. Well worth the pro subscription $$.Version: 5.15.23

It brings out the competitive me !!!I’ve been training on and off for 35 years. I had a habit of going into the gym and selecting a weight that I thought would push me. This APP has shown me now that I was operating within my comfort zone. Now I track every set routine; I have four which I change every 6-8 weeks but with progressive overload my primary goal. By using Strong I force myself to do either more weight or more reps, with every set, than the last time I completed that particular routine. It’s making me push myself and showing me I can do far more that I believed I could and, as a result, I’m getting great results. It’s genuinely a game changer and I wouldn't make such a statement if I didn’t mean it. I love the analytics that come with the APP which really help me assess my progress and, importantly, how I can do more. I rarely write online reviews but I have to say this APP has pushed me to give credit to the developers. If you are serious about your training then I would strongly recommend this APP. It’s intuitive, well developed and reasonably priced. I wish I’d had it years ago !!!.Version: 5.15.15

Great Workout TrackerThis is a great app for tracker your workout progress. It allows you to create and save workout plans. The free version gives you up to 3 custom workouts you can create but premium allows unlimited. It’s has an auto rest timer that comes in handy if you’re like me and depend on specific time for rest between sets. The only gripe I have is that when you set the rest timer for an exercise you have in one workout, if you use that same exercise in a different workout you creates it sets the rest time to the time you used in the last workout you used the exercise in which is a little bit of a pain if your workout plan has multiple days in it that use the same exercise for more than one day. You have to just keep adjusting the time back and for for the rest timer but other than that it’s the perfect app. I would get the lifetime purchase if the rest timer issue gets worked out..Version: 5.13.1

Hard to faultStrong is a great app that has gone from strength to strength (no pun intended) with each new release. The developer is quick to answer questions and implement improvements and tweaks. I have been using it for a number of years now and haven't ever felt the need to look elsewhere since picking it up..Version: 5.6.2

So motivating!I was struggling to get motivated to do weights at my gym, also because I wasn’t sure what to do. Found this app and it was so easy to make a balanced program that suited my goals. It’s easy to use, a good quality app and for some reason I find the green ticks (and the personal best notifications) SO rewarding!.Version: 5.15.18

Seems real good on second dayLet me log and change workouts.Version: 5.15.18

Easily the best workout trackerUpdate: I just recorded my 1,146th workout in Strong. I can’t remember how much I paid for it anymore, but at this point it might be the hardest working couple of dollars that I ever spent. —— Flexibility meets framework so you can easily track almost any kind of workout without having to overthink things or work through an overly complex user experience. I’ve logged almost 400 (update: 600) workouts with it, and I’ve never had a problem with crashing or data loss. Also, the developers have been incredibly responsive to suggestions and squashing the very occasional bug. I can’t remember what I paid for it anymore, but quality apps like this are worth every penny. The only thing I wish they’d tighten up is supersets. They take up a lot of space and I wish they’d function just a bit differently..Version: 5.15.18

Great for causal and serious weight liftersI’ve been using this app for years, since setting up a home gym in my garage. It was great for casual weight-lifting and trying to figure out what lifts I could do with my set up to hit different target areas and keeping track of how much I lifted last. When the pandemic hit this year and triggered my anxiety, I turned to more intense weight lifting in my nice little isolated gym to help cope. I’ve gone from 0-2 casual workouts per week to 4-5 hour-long intense workouts and I’ve made use of more of the features in the app - designing new routines, calculating warm-up sets for my riskier heavy lifts, and tracking my progress in chart form so I know when to start trying for higher weights. Now I’m up to 275 workouts in this app and I’m seeing results. This app is beautifully designed, very flexible and great for weight lifters at any level. It’s never annoying and it poses no limitations to doing your workout your way at your pace. I’ve tried instructor-led videos and I hate every one of them. There is one thing I would add though - The plate math calculator is maybe the best feature in this app, but it’s limited to known, common bar weights. It works great for my barbell and curl bar, but my smith machine bar weighs 25 pounds and there is no option for that. I have to set it as the 20lb curl bar and remember to subtract 2.5 for each side as I’m loading the plates..Version: 5.14.1

Fantastic gym toolI’ve been using this app for a year or so now and it is a fantastic tool in the gym. It helps track what weights you’ve been lifting of different exercises, the calendar tool tells you when you have worked out and the feature I’ve found most useful is being able to add work outs to the pre existing list. I’ve not found any other app for the gym that is as intuitive and simple as this one. I have the free version and won’t be paying the extortionate pro cost any time soon! Although I would consider it at a lower price as this app is brilliant!.Version: 5.10.1

Exceptional analytics for data-driven athletesFunctional and easy to use app while at the gym that makes tracking personal records engaging, whilst providing information about correct form and technique for exercises. The app needs a social component to create further user engagement and heighten the experience. A simple Nike Run Club “cheer on” element while a friend is exercising is always very satisfying and I can see something similar applying well here. Almost perfect. Fast-track development on social aspect Strong team!.Version: 5.12.1

Useful but lacks choiceA far better option to tracking strength training than my old Garmin. Gives you good charts and keeps track of all things such as the type of bar you use (olympic, trap, etc.). The only major downside to this is the exercise database is so small. It’s not that much of a hassle to add it in yourself but it doesn’t quite track as well as the pre-programmed ones. Otherwise, this is definitely worth the annual fee!.Version: 5.15.11

Best workout app availableI’ve been using strong now for about 3 months, it’s honestly the best app I’ve ever used, it makes tracking sets and workouts so easy, and lays it all out for you. The only thing that I would want to see in future updates is the ability for you to add an image to a new workout if it is not yet loaded into the app. Other than that it’s been great..Version: 5.15.18

OutstandingI downloaded (and tested) around 20 of these types of apps and finally settling on Strong. Fantastic user interface. Intuitive controls. Has all the features you could need and includes an extensive library of exercises. Awesome apple watch app to go with it. I’d like to see RPE added to the watch app. How about a hard press on the rep counter to bring up RPE guys!? Keep up the fantastic work..Version: 5.6.2

Great app, easy to useThis app helps me so much I keep records on it from every session. I train back and biceps on Mondays, chest shoulders and triceps Tuesdays, Legs and core Wednesdays, Back and Biceps again Tuesdays and the Friday a bit of everything but with an extra long session ready for a weekend off, using this since abut my 10th session and beings able to plan your workout though this is such a help even has pics of how to use different machines you’re not sure off plus it tracks your PBS. Simple to use, and really helped me with not just my physical strength improving but always my mental health when you see how far you have come! Jack Jones - Fervid Gym Member in Flint in North wales-.Version: 5.15.23

Best weights focussed work out appHi, I downloaded this app along time ago (first on my iPhone 4S I think) and it has come along way since. That’s not to say the first version was bad, in fact it wasn’t - it was great. The constant updates, iterations and refinements though make this app the best on the market. It’s significantly better than its peers and will not disappoint. I cannot recommend this app highly enough - it’s excellent and well worth the plunge. Excellent app, great developer, fantastic user experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ As a side note - for people that are new to the gym or looking to get into weight lifting; this app does have an exercise library but will not give explicit guidance in the way a personal trainer type app will. If you are new to weight lifting, please go slowly, take your time and ask for help. Asking for help is not an admission of failure and is far better than causing yourself serious injury..Version: 5.15.18

What I’ve been looking forFor years I have been using another app, but the company that makes it no longer support it. But I’ve checked out a number of other apps, but none of them have a wide variety of exercises and let me put them together in a workout. Let alone, do a variation or put a exercise that isn’t in the app. With syncing and the watch app, this app just puts this at the top of its game. The only real negative I can find is, the syncing with the Apple Watch can take some time to do or is most of time unnecessary. Thou, this could be the Apple Watch itself, since I use a different watch to workout with, and I am turning it on at the Gym. The other negative I found with the app is there is no App integration for Strava. This would be wonderful to have, since Strava is one of the leading fitness tracking apps out there. But, outside those two little grips. I’ve used this app for years, and can’t really see myself without it..Version: 5.15.3

Amazing AppAwesome app and one of the few fitness apps that get regular useful updates. Has been improving consistently over the last year, listening to user feedback and is now close to perfect. Thanks guys!.Version: 5.11.5

Great app, outstanding supportI’ve been using this app for 10 months now I tried the free version for a couple weeks and quickly found that I wanted to expand my routines list. I am since very happy with the purchased version. I specifically chose this app for it’s ease of use and integration with the Apple Watch. I like using the watch interface to record my reps and sets within my routine and it helps keep me progressing knowing what my previous set weight and reps were. I also like how it updates various health apps I use with my phone. Just recently I had an issue where my watch app was stuck in a loop of trying to launch & failing each time. I tried powering off my watch and also a hard reset, but couldn’t get the app to shut down. I finally reached out to the strong app support via email and they responded within an hour or so, very impressed. Carlo informed me that there was a hotfix out for the app and to try again after the update. Thankfully that fixed my issue and I am back to my workout routine. I have 2 app enhancements I would like. a timer based exercise. For example if I want do a set of planks for 1 minuet each. It would be nice to have a timer count each “rep” down for me. I would LOVE to be able to swipe left on the app to get to my music playlist. Other then that, I’m very happy with this app and it’s function and integration into my routine..Version: 5.11.1

Great App but missing one thing…I’ve used JEFIT for years but was beginning to notice the limitations. So went looking for something similar but better. That’s when I found StrongApp and it’s awesome. One thing missing that’s stopping it from being 5 stars. I can’t insert my numbers from my 5 years of lifting (on and off hehe). If they add that feature I’ll be happy to give 5 stars. Other features they should consider adding is: Photo uploads Photos for sessions Syncing to Garmin connect app :) Awesome app 😁😁😁.Version: 5.15.10

A great app - highly recommendI use this to track my weightlifting and its easily the best one I've used. Others like JEFIT I found it too cluttered and often easy to mess up recording the right figures by accident. This app is clean, easy to set up and has so many great features. I’ve been using this app for several years now and it’s just perfect. They’ve brought in so many changes and now you can do everything from measurements, warmup calculators and various charts. It’s so easy to use and I’d be lost without it. Best app on the market hands down for weightlifting and powerlifting tracking. The developers and team have responded to all my questions and suggestions and have fantastic support. Great service!.Version: 5.0

Progress trackingIt is really easy to track weight progress. However, it is really difficult to actually see the progress without manually selecting each individual exercise as a widget. This could be improved by showing the progress of the selected workout template and not a singular exercise..Version: 5.15.18

It’s easyI’ve used countless workout trackers and something that should be really easy has always been an incredibly bloated non intuitive process. With Strong. As soon as you set up your workouts (which itself is very simple) it works exactly as you would think. Click on the workout and it shows what you did last time. With space for this weeks results along with an incredibly useful rest timer. The only negative is I didn’t realise the purchase options I would have preferred to have bought it outright rather than the one year subscription but I only saw the option after the trial period. Otherwise it’s great.Version: 5.10.5

Great experience but annoying bugI have been enjoying this app greatly for a year now and have recommended to friends, it’s nice that the free version is still very adequate and allows to store up to 3 templates/workout plans but I have been victim of a bug recently that is that my templates are disappearing by itself, out of 3 I made and kept, 1 is suddenly gone today and (in)conveniently the workout I was meant to do today also! So that’s annoying having to make the routine over and over as I’ve been having this bug for a couple months now. Hope it’s fixed soon..Version: 5.15.18

Great AppGreat workout tracker, just started using it but i already see how useful it is going to be..Version: 5.15.12

Best Workout App!This is by far the easiest and most visually appealing workout app I have ever come across. I’ve been using it for over two years and can’t see myself ever changing to another app..Version: 5.15

On Apple WatchLove the fact that I can update my workouts on the Strong App and it automatically updates on my Apple Watch when the Strong App is opened! Perfect!!.Version: 5.9

Highly recommendAfter a bumpy start where I invested in the app then was told I would have to subscribe and pay more for it each year the developers came good with their word and honored those who paid the initial price for unlimited lifetime upgrades. That was well over 5 years ago and I recommend this app to all my clients now. It is the most comprehensive tracker I have used and easy to set up and navigate even for those who are tech savvy. When people ask me what supplements they should take, I tell them to download this app, they will get better results..Version: 5.11.7

Best Workout App I’ve used.I’m an early adopter so I have a bit of a bias getting the crazy discount for the lifetime membership, but I think it would be worth the full membership today. The whole app is great, I love the tracking and it’s very fast..Version: 5.15.23

FantasticSimple, intuitive, clean, Thorough. It just makes sense, from top to bottom. Get it..Version: 4.21

Love itGreat snazzy workout app! Keeps you on your goals and is quite flexible in mixing your exercises up. I do however would like some easy ways to add exercises while on the Apple Watch without going through all of them alphabetically. Also since Watch OS6 , it has not been able to start the app on my watch. Can we get a fix please!.Version: 5.11

Love but needs improvementsWhen live syncing your workout to your Apple Watch, it's fine during the workout but when you finish, say you end it on your phone.. it'll keep going on the watch and vice versa. Super annoying and there is literally never going to be a situation when you're doing 2 workouts at once. Update the app so when you finish your workout it finishes counting across all your devices..Version: 5.15.18

Solid appGreat app functions generally well but has some issues syncing/tracking workouts from iPhone to Apple Watch simultaneously. Also would really like the added ability to add workouts to a favourite list instead having to scroll all the way down the list to add it (very time consuming on Apple Watch).Version: 5.15.2

Great appI’ve been using strong for a few years now after initially trying a few different workout apps. It’s really great, however, recently the watchOS app has been crashing quite frequently for me when adding exercises on my phone. Hopefully this can be sorted soon..Version: 5.15.18

Great gym toolI’ve been using Strong for a few months now and it’s great! I’ve got it on my iPhone and Apple Watch which is handy during workouts as you can just use the watch and add your workout as you go along I’ve only got the free version and won’t be getting the pro version anytime soon due to the huge price tag. There are a few negatives to this app though. It drains your battery, big time! I’ll go in with 80% and come out with 20% after an hour or 2 working out! If you put your phone on airline mode though it only uses a fraction of that which is strange. It is definitely this app draining the battery as I only have this running during training. Also, if you are using the Apple Watch app and adding your workout as you go, you can add an exercise but it only adds one set, you can’t just add a few sets for each exercise like you can do in the phone app. I’ll keep using this app as it’s brilliant and could easily get 5* if the above is sorted. Also if the pro version was around the £5 or under mark I would buy it but otherwise I’ll just stick with the free version.Version: 4.27.3

Super set timerI really enjoy using this app. Bring a trainer myself it is very user friendly great at the what I think every trainer needs. I would recommend that you update the rest timer for superset. It would be great for us to have the option to have the timer start after the last exercise rather that after each individual exercise.Version: 5.15.18

Super easy to useLove using this to track my progress. The notes are very useful, I use them to remind myself not to overdo the weight and instead do more reps to prevent injuring myself again 😮‍💨 What would be cool is the ability to see a diagram of all the muscles your ‘workout’ targeted. That would really help me design a workout to ensure I’m not missing any. Or even suggestions that ‘you aren’t working out this area’ and suggested exercises based on that. Honestly I’d probably pay for pro if it had that..Version: 5.15.16

Works well, but drains battery like crazy. Thanks for this app- it's really helping focus my workouts. Three issues I have are: 1. The app really drains the battery. A 2-hour workout uses well over 80% of the battery. I'm pretty sure I could watch a 2-hour movie and use less battery! I have to plug my phone into an external Battery to make it through a workout. 2. The pop-up keyboard often obscures the text fields I need to type in, so it would be great if the current rep line moved to the top of the screen as the cursor entered that field. 3. When I use the "-" (minus) button to reduce the timer during a rest between reps, the chime that sounds when the rest period is over sometimes doesn't sound until the original rest duration has passed (even though I may have reduced the timer by 30 seconds, for example), so the chime doesn't always match the visuals. Thanks again..Version: 5.4

Different but still greatHad this app since the beginning, keeps track of all my workouts, and allows me to track my numerous PRs across my custom exercises (bands, chains, and boxes). The workout notes and per exercise notes is one of the best features as I can save technical pointers, subtle variations, and how I felt on the day, preworkout nutrition etc. The new layout is a little less intuitive initially; but I'm sure the guys will keep improving it. Update 2019, the new-new layout is great- super intuitive with great feel, which enables you to move exercises around a workout seamlessly..Version: 5.6.1

Brilliant😃Such a simple to use app, first app I’ve come across in a longtime that feels like it was made for me. The only thing I would add would be when you do things for time that that you can auto start the time you wish to do, but definitely not a deal breaker..Version: 5.15.12

Latest and greatestBest thing about this app is is always adapting and getting better. Love the quick turnaround for features and continuous improvement. Love the adoption of new features of the runtimes such as iOS 13 and watchOS6. The strong app alone is a reason to they the Apple Watch. It’s the best gym app out. Full stop!.Version: 5.13

Very very slickThis app is exactly what I've been looking for. I've spent so much time trying out other apps and they don't hit the mark. Key things I like include: showing me my previous weight and reps for the same exercise so I know what I need to increase on; number pad to make it easy to enter reps. Very nice app!.Version: 4.27

Epic fitness appProbably the best fitness tracking app I’ve used to follow my gym routines. Great to see pst results and track progress..Version: 5.7

Please give me a refundThis app is really good i give 5 stars and i always use it but i forgot one day after i was supposed to cancel my free trial and i’m begging can i please get a refund?.Version: 5.15.18

Excellent TrackerThis app has definitely made workout teaching so much easier! Great alternative to all the spreadsheets I used earlier. Also, love the timer feature..Version: 4.21

Attachements and drop setsThis app is really amazing for tracking your gym sessions but something that would be really helpful would be to add the attachements like the v-bar, the rope, etc. Also for drop sets it would be nice to be able to write the weight or weights that we drop set to for example, I do 100lbs, I drop set it and do 80 lbs I want to write the numbers of reps I did with 80lbs. That would make this app a 5 star for me..Version: 5.15.18

Love this appAlmost everyone goes into the gym with not much thought or planning. They guess they'll do arms today but can't remember what weight or sets they did last time. This app keeps you focused. Create your workout BEFORE you go in and adjust the weight/reps as needed, Or time between sets. I have two routines for chest, one for back, and one for legs and HIIT. Tells you last time you performed that workout and your results. You can easily see if your routine is getting a little easier then it's time to increase the weight or reps. Easy to add or delete sets. I also love that the timer tells me in my headphones that the break is over. When you complete a set, click the box and the timer starts. Almost every exercise is included in the search. Showed a guy in the gym who was at least recording his workouts on paper this app and he bought it that day. Works great with Apple watch also. GET IT! It will force you to get better!.Version: 5.0.2

Extremely simple app, very well designedVery solid app, simple and gets the job done without any clutter. Only suggestion I would have is the ability to add some form of notes if you’re tracking volume using the graphs on the profile tab. Example being if I wanted to label a sudden dip in volume as upping the weight, or if my volume increased for that day because I did an exercise first instead of last..Version: 5.15.18

Worth every centWhilst there are almost always room for improvements/personal modifications you yourself would want, this app is absolutely incredible at what it does. If you’re looking for an app where you can customise your own work outs and have all the added features of guides, timers, etc, this is the app for you. A 4/5 didn’t quite seem fair, a perfect score of 5/5 isn’t quite honest either, so a 4.5 star rating for me..Version: 5.12

BEST WORKOUT APPBest workout app, but can you please add a feature to share your workout results with friends (to flex on them)..Version: 5.15.18

YeeGoat app.Version: 5.15.20

Essential gym toolI’ve been using this app for 3 months now and it’s become an essential part of my gym routine. The interface is slick and easy to use, and it’s very easy to follow your progress. The only 2 areas of improvement are: 1) sometimes when attempting to select a third exercise for a superset it doesn’t allow you to, meaning I have to close the app and re-open. 2) I’d like the option for the notes under an exercise to be carried through from workout to workout, as I often leave notes on one day and then forget about it when I do the exercise again. Apart from these 2 slight improvements, it’s a fantastic app that I’ve recommended to my friends..Version: 5.10.4

Best workout trackerI've used a few apps to track workouts. This is my favourite. - rest timer - plate calculator - tracks dumbbell, barbell, body weight, and other exercises. Lots of exercises preloaded already - clean, simple interface.Version: 5.14.2

Best All-Around App for WeightliftingI have been using this app for a month straight at this point and I am convinced that this is the best overall app for weightlifting available. I have extensively tried around 8 other apps and none of them have come close to this one. First, it’s extremely intuitive - if you think an option is going to be somewhere, it usually is. Adding, replacing, or modifying exercises is easy to do on the fly. While other apps have similar options, none have been this intuitive throughout. I’ve been impressed by how this app just seems to “make sense” in a lot of areas. Secondly, features that are supposed to work, actually work. My Apple Watch syncs effortlessly and immediately as I jump into my WOD. It prompts me to finish workout on the watch, to ensure it syncs properly, but has been fine when finishing the workouts on the phone - so that seems to be more of a safety measure than a requirement. Third, the interface is easy. It’s clutter free and clean. Buttons are big enough to press, and I have yet to experience any bugs or glitches of any kind. This is the best app for inputting, logging, and tracking your workouts and programs that I’ve come across. I highly recommend it..Version: 5.15.18

LOVE this app. Functional, easy to use and has everything you needThis is the best app for keeping track of your workouts in the simplest, cleanest way. It has everything I need including templates and rest timers. Also shows your previous achievements. Love it! My only suggestion would be to add the functionality that when you press the checkmark that your set is finished, the rest timer automatically starts then rather than having to manually choose and start it each time. I hope they add this! Then it would be 100% perfect. Thanks for the great app!.Version: 5.15.22

Easy to use, would recommend to any beginner! As someone who has only just started taking the gym seriously this is an awesome app for anyone to use. Great to keep track of your workout and there is nothing better than finishing your workout and seeing that you have set a new personal best for yourself. Highly recommend..Version: 5.11.3

Easy to use. My favourite work out appI love the Strong App. I only have two recommendations. 1. More exercise options would be appreciated 2. A refreshed UI would be great. However, the UX is excellent..Version: 5.15.10

Great app for liftingTons of great ideas to keep your workouts both on track and on time. Has tons of great ideas that have clearly come from people who know what they are doing. Rest timers (with notifications), plate calculator, notes (both per set and pinned notes for exercises), warm-up calculator, progress charts, apple watch integration, workout summaries etc... I could go on. Full of little "a-ha" moments when you discover genuinely useful and clever functions that help you progress at the gym all in one app. No more bouncing between different apps to record your progress 😄😄😄..Version: 4.26

Strong to Strong ProI started off with the normal Strong app, it was good to help keep track of the routines and the weights. It has all the capabilities and features you need for working out with the bonus of the app connecting to the Apple Watch. The app will keep track of your previous workouts so you don’t need to think about that. Just get in there and lift. Just over a year ago I upgraded to Strong Pro and I have to say it was definitely worth it. The mirror doesn’t really show improvements when you see yourself every day. Of course, you can take photos and look back but you’re limited by light and other factors. Why waste time trying to get the photos in the same condition every day when you can just look at the app and see the visuals on the graph? The upgrade is a small price to pay for the extra features you get and the extra visual tracking, for those days where you need it..Version: 5.13.1

Never lets me downIt seems whenever I look to change up my workout the exercises are to be found in the app! The graphics are a real help when doing something new. The rest timer and custom warmup are features I am only just gaining the benefits of. I have a garmin and iPhone but neither offer the simple yet powerful features of strong. 100% worth paying for (only ever paid for two other fitness apps in last 10 years).Version: 5.15.23

Best partner for working outI’ve used Strong since October 2016 when I started training seriously, and have progressed to become a competent intermediate lifter. There are too many great features on Strong to list here, but the ability to design and prepare your weekly workout routines at home on the app and then track each workout is vital to progression. Being aware of when and for how long you train helps with planning and motivation, and being able to track your improvement over time is important to long term success..Version: 5.9

A strong app... but could be strongerI’ve been using the app for over a month now and have found it to be very user friendly and intuitive compared to lots of other apps I’ve tried (I tried lots). I do lots of drop sets and the app is really quick and easy to use for these, I also find some of the comparison features (total volume for example) really useful to ensure you’re increasing your effort with each workout. Whilst it’s a good app I feel that there are some things which could make the app even better, I’m sure I’ll think of more as I continue to use it be here goes... > whilst you can remove exercises from a superset there doesn’t seem to be a way to add exercises to a SS, once it’s been created, ideally if I could drag one exercise over another the app would let me turn them into a superset > I’ve noticed every exercise sits in a body part category, therefore it would be great to see visually how much a body part has / hasn’t been trained recently > would also be useful to see a snapshot of recent exercises Even though I have suggestions, I would 100% recommend this app if you’re keen on logging your workouts..Version: 5.14

The best training app out thereI've tried them ALL! This is the app I've been waiting for so long I almost wanted to try to make it myself and if I did this is exactly how I'd make it plus they've done a better job. Can't rate this highly enough for those serious trainers that know how to lift and want to track in a simple elegant way. It also offers great analysis which I've not got enough data to explore but that looks awesome. Love the way they let you try it and then buy - perfectly done. Thanks Devs!!.Version: 5.0.1

Best Training AppHonestly I’ve always used a physical journal, and every time I’ve tried to transition to a digital one I always end up switching back. This is the first one that I’ve been able to stick to, and I absolutely love it. However, there are a couple things that I WISH this app had. I wish that I could add friends and share workouts/routines with them. It would make it so much easier to get my friends to use this app with me if we could somewhat “compete” with each other like how the Apple Watch fitness app works. Also, I wish I was able to upload before/after photos. Maybe incorporate everything into a calendar view where each day has colored dots (where say blue is that I worked out that day, red is a new measurement that day, and maybe green is a new progress picture that day). This app is absolutely awesome, but definitely some things could be improved! Some things that just came to mind: to add space for a social page, you can consolidate the Exercises tab to be a button within the Workout tab (I don’t look @ exercises on a regular basis). The same thing can be said about Measurements and the Profile tab. Measurements obviously embody information about me, so the Measurements tab can be included within the Profile tab. Anyways, I didn’t mean to write such a big review, as I actually love this app. Just some things that I would LOVE to see in the future..Version: 5.11.10

Perfect appI’ve been using this almost every day for 3 years. Absolutely perfect in every way..Version: 5.15.18

Best fitness app!I never review apps, but as I just hit workout #300 tracked on Strong, I thought it was time. I’ve been using the free version for about a year and a half, and for me, it’s perfect. The only downside to using the free version is a limit to the workout templates you can save, but I usually start from scratch each time I track so that doesn’t bother me. I have found when I do make templates, I still change things around based on what’s available at my gym, anyway. My biggest pro for this app is that there are no ads/nonsense/pop ups trying to get you to upgrade to the paid version or promoting anything else. Nothing annoys me more than apps begging for your money. This app is clean, utilitarian, and really well-designed for you to get in, set up your workout, and track your reps/sets as you go. If an exercise you want isn’t in the library, you can add your own. It saves all your progress history, even on the free version, so you can look back and see how you have progressed on different exercises. I recommend this app to all my friends..Version: 5.15.18

Love the app, have a few suggestions/requestsI absolutely love using this app and and I use it almost everyday. One thing I would love for the developers to add to the app, especially for people who have paid for the full featured version of the app, is to improve the notes features. I love having notes that you can pin for an exercise or have a note written for one specific exercise during one workout. A fantastic addition to the note feature would be to have a third method of note taking for routines. So essentially you could have a one time note for an exercise bout (i.e. tried doing pause reps for pushups), the pinned notes (i.e. make sure to lock out on bench press), but also having a third one that is a note for a specific exercise that is only visible within a saved routine (i.e. for tricep extensions: set 1; pronate hands, set 2; supinated hands; set 3; hands neutral). With this added feature, you wouldn’t have to pin a note and be confused if doing the same exercise but for a different effect outside of the routine and have to remove the pinned note..Version: 5.13

Best Training ToolLove this app. Been using this for years and bought lifetime access in the early days of this app. Even if this is now subscription I would say it’s absolutely worth it especially if you’re using it 3/4/5 days a week you’ll get so much out of it. Wouldn’t be without it. Tracks all my workouts, tracks my lifts so you can make progressive strength gains, gives you a lot of info to show you’ve progressed based on 1RM, Volume, Weight. Also if you replace an exercise with something else, and say you pop that exercise back in a couple of months later, it has all the info on weights and reps lifted and any notes you saved so you can pick back up where you left off. Great app!.Version: 5.15.23

This app is the gift that keeps giving!I have never felt the need to write a review for an app but if any app deserves it, this is the one. It is incredibly useful, quick + easy use, and comes with an insanely vast amount of helpful and clever features. I can’t stress how amazing this app is, I couldn’t name a single flaw or improvement if I tried, and that is just for the free version without upgrading to pro! I might upgrade to pro just to show my thanks to this app. My gains and gym experience would not be the same without Strong!.Version: 5.15.3

Too EasyLove this app, too easy..Version: 5.1

My favourite workout appThis app gives an easy and quick way to create and record workouts with either standard and/or custom exercises. And I love how it works with both my iPhone and Apple Watch. So many other cool features too!.Version: 5.15.18

Great app to track your workoutsI’ve tried 10+ apps, and this one is the most convenient to record your workouts and track progress. One request, though: please add more exercises. The app provides a lot of common ones, but people do craziest things, you know. Just look at all the other competitors and copy. ;-).Version: 5.4

Best workout app, hands downI’ve used plenty of other apps but Strong is the one I’ve consistently used time and time again. Always recommend it to people I’ve helped train and guide along fitness journeys. Simple enough for beginners to pick up and use. But enough features and data collection for the more advanced/power users (I haven’t even gone into the pro version yet). The recent addition of easy access to RPE was a feature I didn’t realise I wanted, but have grown to love. Props to the developers!.Version: 5.4
