✓ Ooops shouldn't have updated!Uh-oh! Looks like the latest Coach's Eye is just for iPad users! So while there are some great new features, they have sacrificed the size of the video display in order to permanently display features such as drawing tools. I note that previous comments requested an undo button. That is there now... but in its own bar which further cuts down the screen space for video. All of this is great if you have an iPad because the features you want are just a single tap away (although I don't know if it is going to be frustrating that careless pointing is going to result in drawings litering the screen), but on an iPhone the screen just isn't big enough to offer a good enough video experience :-(.Version: 2.0
✓ Good app but flawed serviceAs a martial arts coach I love helping people see the opportunities for improving techniques. However the pro service is very intrusive in an already paid for app and is very poor value for money imho..Version: 6.4.2
✓ HD export way too expensiveA very good app until you want to export the analysis in HD...then it'll cost you as you need to upgrade to a pro or VIP licence. That's a complete rip off bearing in mind I'd already bought the app with this functionality 3 years ago but now lose it thanks to the upgrade. ✓ Could Be BetterThe app is very limited on its ability to import files from the iPad camera filmed in slow motion. The iPad can record video at 240 fps, which is very helpful to evaluate technique. Unfortunately the app can import only small files thereby limiting its utility. If you have a newer iPad you don’t need this app..Version: 6.4
✓ Sounds good, but limitedThe recording and tracking aspect is good but the fact that you can't clear markup in sections of video means you can't pan the scene, the object has to remain central. A start and end time for each markup object is what's missing. Techsmith I'm sure you're aware of this so i hope there will be a new version.Version: 1.0

✓ ReviewEvery time I touch my screen to scroll across the app disappears and it comes up view critique and it cuts my critique off right in the middle I should be able to scroll across and touch the bottom of my screen without testing going to view critique interrupt me right in the middle and I have to start over.Version: 6.3.1
✓ Constant account issuesIt was very hard to set up since it kept saying I was putting in the wrong account info but would finally go through while putting in the same info. I upgraded to the Precision Pack and I now have less tools showing than before the upgrade. I was able to find in the app that I had purchased the tools and my credit card shows I purchased it but not able to find them. ✓ What happened to this once awesome tool?This tool used to be so simplistic and so valuable to online video coaching. What happened all of the upgrades were downgrades it is impossible to find your videos they take forever to upload if you can find them. I upgraded to the maximum package and now unfortunately I'm regretting it. I wish they would reverse everything back to where the way it was just focused on improving tools within the program. ✓ The most buggy App ever!!Techsmith are a reliable company so I thought I was safe with this App. It has caused me nothing but trouble and often freezes. ✓ Good, but not greatTHE GOOD: Great telestrator tools. Great to be able to speak to the video that you are evaluating. NOT SO GOOD: Hard to navigate through the app to find things you need (adding coaches, finding features, etc). No ability to add text to your videos. Not great camera qualities- they say it’s HD but I don’t see that at all. Can’t zoom in well, loses video quality. Can’t import video from other apps without them being choppy..Version: 6.4.5

✓ Very useful app but...I think this is a very useful app. Fun to use, and applicable to almost any scenario (besides sports) in which body movement needs monitoring, for whatever reason. My only complaints are that once a video has been 'analysed' there is no obvious 'save' button. I eventually found out (through trial and error) that to save an analysed video you need to press the voice-record button - videos can't be saved unless this button is pressed at the beginning and end of the analysing process - not helpful if you simply want to analyse a video without voice input (e.g. voice-feedback may impractical in a very noisy setting, where a coach may find it easier to simply explain an annotated video clip directly to a player, without the need for a voice recording). Also, I noticed that previewing analysed videos requires a 'preparing video' process, which can be quite slow, even for very short videos (not ideal in a fast-changing environment, where quick and instant feedback is required, such as a tennis match or other fast-moving sport activity). Otherwise, this app easily merits 5 stars. The issues I've raised should be quite easy to address via an update..Version: 2.1

Without the option to rotate, sometimes it defaults to where you can’t view your video full screen in the orientation you’d like. Secondly, disable “app switching” by swiping. ✓ Video editing issues. Lack of supportIf someone can contact me, I will adjust this review. The app would be great if 1. When I recorded a video from my phone and transferred it to my iPad to analyze, I didn’t get 3/4 of a black screen. I have followed the steps to adjust video quality and what not, still to no avail. 2. I wish I knew that the angle and other features were an add on expense. 3. ✓ Ok but a bit frustratingI purchased this mainly to draw angles on people to record joint mobility. The angle tool Is frustrating as it can’t be adjusted or increased once placed and so you need to delete and redraw. With a small screen it’s not always easy to get the placement correct. Unfortunately there is no good screenshot option or ability to mark up a photo, the screenshot using the iPhone buttons leaves all the onscreen options in full view..Version: 6.4

When you upgrade its takes a while for the app to realise, leaving you with constant messages about wanting to “upgrade” Once the upgrade takes effect uploading videos into a locker seems straight forward, but if you don’t go into each individual video and select “everyone can view” ... well nobody can view and until you work that out it’s frustrating I’ve not yet tried the review capability, but let’s see how that goes 3/5 for now.Version: 6.4
✓ Poor website and customer supportThe app is good but I think the website and customer support are not reflective of the cost for a team’s subscription. The app malfunctions a great deal and once you subscribe it often won’t show/update in your app. There is no support on weekends when most athletes are competing or have the time to review tape..Version: 6.4

It would be great if it had a video delay function … so you could start the video running and it showed on the iPad screen what happened a minute or 30 seconds earlier … then had the option to save the last x seconds of footage. ✓ Disappointed with this appI have had this app on my wish list for a number of years now. I eventually got round to buying it and I have been disappointed with the purchase. I have previously used the free app Coach My Videos and this puts Coaches Eye on the subs bench. Why? Because the basic features such as sharing, measuring angles and spot light are not part of the basic feature on Coaches Eye but are on coach my video. Go with that over this. ✓ Good app, unforgivable business practicesThis app is very useful for my own coaching needs, however after forking out £6 for the app I was disappointed to learn I had to pay more for basic functions like angles etc. however what is worse is the fact you have to pay extra, I mean a whopping £10/month to export or use HD footage, which is frankly disgusting as they are merely masking a key function of the iPad - HD video recording. I am looking for another app that offers users basic functions without continued extortion attempts by the developers. I would have rather paid more up-front for functionality and HD footage; I certainly won't be giving them £100/year for that luxury. ✓ Horrible updateI bought this app a few years ago & loved all the features. Over the years they upped the price & now have subscriptions?! I paid 15$ for this app but have not used it in about 2 years. I logged on today & it told me I needed a subscription to access the features?! I wouldn’t have purchased this app in the past if I knew it would update & now ask for more money.... it’s not a great app & can be complicated to use not to mention it’s not worth the price...
