Also IPad is much lighter & less cumbersome than a large study Bible. If I could have I would have given it 4 1/2 as the last update has made it rather less user-friendly. You used to be able to look up book/chapter/verse but now it seems that you can only find book & chapter & it only takes you to verse 1 & you have to scroll down to the verse you're looking for - hardly huge in the grand scheme of things but one of those 'improvements' that have the opposite effect. ✓ Nicely done, still room for improvementI've been pretty impressed with the app and it's undoubtedly great to have such easy access to so much great content. My comments here are related specifically to the app itself. Whilst definitely a solid app, I do have some areas that I'd like to see changed / improved. I'd like there to be a text only, full screen mode. At the moment, when you read the text it has the very clunky bar at the bottom saying the book and chapter you're reading plus a couple of other options. I want an option to remove this from view—an immersive reading option if you like (other than the reading mode). Speaking of reading mode, I'd like a full screen option there as per Apple's iBooks app. I don't need the 'pretend it's a real Bible look'. And, I know it's picky, but the top left hand curve of the pretend spine is just annoyingly not right and is jagged. I know. But details matter when it's an app you spend a lot of time with. Another annoyance is that when you want to go to the study notes, it always brings up the How To guide first. Fair enough for the first use of the app, but after that I ALWAYS want it to go straight to the notes. Otherwise it's just an extra click I have to make. All of this is meant as constructive feedback for the developers as I do really like the app—I just want them to keep improving it!.Version: 1.5

I am now 74 years old, so I have used God's Word for a long time and loved using it. Therefore, I am in a good position to comment on the Tecarta Study Bible. I highly recommend it for iPad and iPhone users. It has many translations with helpful notes, commentary, maps (static and interactive), diagrams etc. They are very easy to navigate and easy to read. Needs a back AND forward button so we can navigate between 2 passages easily. I find although I've got the quick reference tabs up the top, during bible study I'm the last to flick between 2 passages because I can't simply hit forward..Version: 3.01

I can't praise the study bible enough!! all credit to the creators of this version. from interactive maps, video and much more.. I have the devotional of the day turned on and read that every morning and that gets me started. From there I start cross referencing verses from different books with the easy to follow guides and read notes along the side that help clarify difficult to read passages or give information about the time period. ✓ Great, but could betterI do love this app, but have experienced problems when my NOTES haven't saved on 2 occasions and have been unable to retrieve them even when I've asked for App help. That is a NUISANCE especially when I have taken notes during a lengthy Bible study session only to find that nothing has saved when I've needed to access the notes at a later stage. Also, it would be great if we had the option of italicising,making bold, underlining an especially highlighting NOTES, not just in the Bible text, but in the personal pop-up notes alongside the Bible text. ✓ AwesomeI’ve read about every Bible version there is. The NIV is at least for me, the clearest and easiest to understand there is. I’ve been a fan for years and if I experiment with any other version, I always come back to this one. The footnotes, maps, etc. on meaning, application, and historical context are perfect for understanding what the author was trying to get across to his readers / listeners. ✓ What a fantastic Bible!I can't tell you how delighted I am with this Bible. I've been looking for the right Bible for my needs for several months, and now I am so thrilled to have found this one. The only item it lacks is one or more suggested reading plans to follow each day. Leaving that aside, the clarity of the text, the helpfulness of the notes and explanations, and every aspect of how the programme works can only be described as most beautiful. ✓ A study in excellenceThis is so different to any book you read in iBooks or Kindle. In fact, this is probably the first time I have found a book in an App that is the equivalent to reading an encyclopaedia and comparing that to interacting with Wikipedia. I find myself easily moving backwards and forwards between notes, foot notes, other verses etc with incredible speed. A whole new way of studying the bible. Mind you, I still have a copy of this study bible in hard copy. Both valuable in different places but I rather suspect I will be using the App more frequently than the hard copy..Version: 1.2

It is LARGE! Updates take forever to load (so do this over night), but I found the support for this application to be excellent. However, it loads quickly, and you can be reading a bible text in church as quickly as the speaker reads the reference. ✓ My primary source of soul foodI have absolutely loved using this app on my IPhone. The presentation is very slick and it has a very gooey interface. The auto-scroll feature is great and I love the book view which allows you to turn each page - very intricately designed. The rainbow highlight option is very useful and adding your own notes is easy and permits plenty of content (I haven't run out of space yet!). Cross referencing passages is fun and I enjoy reviewing the various independent commentaries after completing each chapter. This app has literally taken me to the next level in my study of the Word - ultimately making the whole experience even more enjoyable than reading a traditional Bible! My only criticism is that sub sequent to the purchase of an IPad, I have been unsuccessful in identifying any way by which I can unify my progress between the devices. I set these so that I see them when I first open my iPad, so I can read any of them, all of them, or none of them that day. * Very interesting and helpful charts that teach me things about both the Old and New Testaments. * Historical and cultural context before each new book in the Bible and, if you would like, a running guide to the chapter and verses that accompany any part of the Bible you are currently reading. I'm guessing that what I just wrote is already in the description of the app. But I haven't seen that since my purchase. ✓ NIV Study BibleHaving a full-featured NIV study bible on my phone is fantastic. Thank you for putting this tremendous resource at my fingertips! One comment (and one request), however, for your consideration: The 2011 version of the NIV is less faithful to the original text than the 1984 version. I realize some may be more comfortable with the more "politically correct" word substitutions found in the 2011 version but others (like me, I guess) think God's word is not "improved" when overlaid with our cultural preferences. In fact, the truth of God's word is far more likely to be compromised when we alter it to be more acceptable to the world. That said, I recognize some prefer the 2011 version. Any chance you might offer a NIV 1984 version of this app as well?.Version: 7.15.4
