Mobile App Difficult to UseI love Asana but the mobile app is frustrating- it doesn’t navigate or work anything like the desktop app. I tend to use the web version rather than the app.Version: 8.99.0

I love Asana. I am a big fan but the iOS app needs workHello, I really love Asana. I belive it is the best project management app in it's price range. I highly recommend it even if you end up using just the free version. With that said, the iOS app needs a lot of work. Simple functionality that is at the core of the web app are missing from the app. More am more users use mobile devices and it is essential that core functionality and the experience of the web app is the same as the iOS app. An example is drag and drop from the task view to the subtasks list of another task. (Drag and drop from the left panel into the right panel). Looking forward to seeing the app get a well deserved update..Version: 6.26.0

Don’t use this appGo onto the desktop and use it through a browser. The app is useless for calendar views and general function of the service. Compared to desktop using this app is frustrating and useless. Combine that with the lack of safari support on the website and you force me not to use my iPad as a daily driver..Version: 8.48.0

IOS calendar syncing suggestionI would like to see a feature in which Asana tasks can be linked to the iOS calendar..Version: 8.47.0

New update makes App less mobile friendlyMy small construction company has been using Asana for almost 6 years now and this most recent App update which made a pretty big overhaul on the Inbox which has made it almost useless while trying to work in the field. I do like the swipe to archive feature and that you can hide a task string in the inbox, but now that you can’t “like” a comment right in the inbox OR read a comment that is longer than about 10 words only slows down the entire experience. The whole point of the inbox is that you can quickly read through all of the things happening in the various tasks that you own or collaborate on and having to open the task every time to see what someone said or like the comment to let them know you read it or whatever really slows down the workflow, especially if my cell service is slow, and now I find myself waiting until I can sit down at a computer to go through my inbox which is slowing down my response time and causing my inbox to stack up to overwhelming proportions almost daily. Keep the update format, but bring back full comments and the “like” button in the inbox..Version: 8.21.0

The App isn’t user friendlyThe app is not really user friendly, the UI is complex for nothing. It’s need to be optimized. We can’t easily delete our account inside the app..Version: 8.26.0

Scam AlertThis company as well as Monday both trick buyers into thinking their product price is inline with what one would think the price is. However, at checkout you will be charged for 5 seats (5 people/users) that can only be lowered to 2 later. So you pay for two users even though there are more one person companies than there are large companies by a huge margin. I absolutely hate this trickery. If your product is do good you can charge for one seat and as we grow we will gladly add users as we hire them. Monday is even worse with confusing “whats included” stuff that makes no sense! I just went back to using google sheets. It’s free and does 90% the same thing once you get it lined out..Version: 9.53.0

Missing basic customisationsWhy users aren’t able to allocate what the badge count indicates I don’t know. Tasks still due today/overdue is pretty important - please add the option to choose this over inbox notifications!.Version: 9.36.2

A distant third from desktop and iPhone versionAsana desktop is great, and Asana on iPhone is also pretty good, but please fix the iPad app. It feels like little or no thought went into porting the iPhone version. If you only fix one thing here, fix the column proportions. Either make them resizable or dynamic or make them 50/50 instead of 75/25 or whatever it is. Seriously: when commenting on tasks, you give us a tiny, tiny box on the bottom right with a massive amount of empty space on the screen in the middle. Take a cue from Things 3, which does the task list UX on mobile far better. The iPad would be the perfect Asana device, but it’s actually less useful and more frustrating than this same app on the much smaller iPhone. 2/5.Version: 7.15.0

Notifications badge glitchMy notification badges just keep climbing in number, even after I’ve archived everything. It’s super stressful to wake up at see 20+ notifications!.Version: 8.39.0

Lacks ability to control notificationsWish it had more controls for when notifications can be delivered so it's not going off all the time. Ended up deleting the app because it's a pain in the backside..Version: 6.3.0

Love Asana, App needs workI love Asana. It’s one of the best productivity web apps I’ve used, and I particularly love how they listen to feedback. However, their mobile app and iPad app definitely needs some functionality and interface upgrades. For one, my team tends to check on individual member bandwidth via calendar view, but currently that’s not possible when viewing tasks for other team members, only your own tasks and projects. Another is the inability to see the projects a task belongs to when just glancing at your task list. I have to select each task individually to see what project they belong to. It’s quite annoying especially since we use templates for our projects — so I end up with 4 tasks with the same name from different projects. There’s just a lot more functionality and interface design in the Web App over the mobile and iPad app. I’m okay with the restrictions for mobile, but I just switched to working on an iPad and would love to see the app become a little more robust. Til then, I might just go on safari and use the web app on my iPad. Not ideal, but it’ll give me the functionality I need to use Asana effectively..Version: 8.46.0

Love Asana, but not iOSAre use Asana a lot for work, and overall, it’s been an incredibly valuable tool for myself, and my colleagues to manage a strategic plan, various workflows, ad hoc, teams, and projects that come up throughout the year. But I really find myself avoiding using it on my iPhone because it’s just a really clunky UI. There’s also a few things that you can do on the computer that are missing on the app which in this decade I feel like it’s really just unacceptable for a Saas product that was developed so recently. For example, you can’t create a new team on the app, only on the computer. I recently had this problem, while on business travel at a conference and identifying something that needed addressing. I wasn’t lugging my laptop around to the conference sessions, but I wanted to start laying out our project. It would be assigned to a new team though, so I can’t do it. I googled and found a post in user community forum from over five years ago of someone asking for this feature, and getting blown off by the support rep. 👎 Also, in addition to having your own dedicated my tasks list, I feel like every new user profile should automatically get as a default, a team consisting of just themselves, for building out richer projects that they aren’t ready to populate into any team yet. Like how you always have your own DM channel with yourself in Slack..Version: 9.46.0

Spam your email all the wayGot the app as one of our builders use it but since I get constant emails that are not needed and I cannot find an option to turn them off. Extremely upsetting!!!!!.Version: 8.94.0

Need a black themeBlack / dark themes needed.Version: 8.6.0

Hard to useDon’t mind the browser version, but the app is really frustrating, and hard to use. Too many taps and things always end up all over the place, makes the project messy. If I need to do things fast I end up typing notes elsewhere and then transferring them via browser..Version: 9.1.0

Really disappointing appI initially loved the UI of this app. However, once you start getting into the details you realise that i just doesn’t work as one would expect. Goals as project just doesn’t work for me when i have teams that could be delivering into many goals. You are then left with a choice leave or stay and change the way that you work. Shame! I will keep an eye on the app and hope that in the future it because more internally integrated..Version: 9.83.0

The desktop site is amazing, but the app limits productivityI love project management software tools and the full computer web version of Asana is a powerful, efficient tool. The mobile app, however, is exceedingly limited. If you are only managing a simple to-do list, no problem. If you have multiple projects with multiple team members, the mobile app is a roadblock to productivity. You cannot view tasks assigned only to you sorted by project. This is huge...you loose the context of the task inside and project. You can view all tasks by project, but you cannot filter to see only your tasks, but have to load and scroll past all those tasks assigned to your team members. If you have a few minutes waiting in line out in the world and want to check off a task...forget about it. You’ll wait for a while as the app loads and then have to spend more time trying to find be relative content. OmniFocus has this solved exceedingly well, but is only for individuals, not teams. I sincerely hope Asana will work on its mobile features. My team simply cannot use it on mobile or tablet devices..Version: 6.27.0

PresidentThe app was more intuitive and user friendly. You are trying to have to many things in one basket, very hard to use the app..Version: 7.20.0

Avoid - Hugely ExpensiveThere are lots of work management apps out there, but individuals within our company decided this was the one they wanted without exploring the many other options. A subscription will cost you £15 per user per month, with very little in real terms to set Asana apart from the competition other than price. Alternatives cost £30 per user per year and frankly have a nicer interface with better workflows and a more continuous improvement..Version: 8.43.0

Great tool but needs to adapt to freelance workforceAsana is great for project management but if you have multiple clients/workplaces you need a separate account for each. I wish you could merge all workplaces so you can see a list of all tasks rather than toggle between all your different clients. Also if a team mate sends you a whole heap of files (not zipped) there’s no “download all” function, you will have to go and individually download each attachment.Version: 9.20.0

FrozeI signed out and switched accounts and the process was super laggy on my iPhone X and then suddenly it wouldn’t even load the tasks or anything at all on wifi or data. Had to delete..Version: 6.16.0

Time WasterGet used to seeing the pinwheel spin on your cell phone as you try to download ‘magic links’ and attempt to log in. Says I’m already logged on but won’t allow access to the program when you try to sign in again. Password change. Still inaccessible. Not meant for iPhone?.Version: 9.63.0

LaggingIt lags when I’m trying to add photos or attachments, for some reason it just freezes whenever I try to. Even after I close and reopen..Version: 8.99.0

New version less helpfulThis latest version seems to remove (at least any obvious way) of changing multiple tasks in one go to a new date. The app is far more cumbersome without !!.Version: 9.79.0

Why can't I delete a project?I can't delete any project, only tasks! That's frustrating. This App is so confusing you have more than a button to create a project the I can't find it or it goes somewhere else. I'll delete it from my device..Version: 3.1.1

DONT BUY THIS PRODUCTTry to cancel our plan and its impossible to cancel anything because Asana make it too hard to cancel. When you clic on (cancel my plan) it open a error message and the customer service is ridiculous. We had to call Visa to cancel our credit card and all the problems it comes with. Very bad customer service..Version: 8.91.0

On iPAD, this sucks.Sorry but this is a really bad user experience on my ipad. Trello is much better and easier to use..Version: 8.84.0

PDF managementWe use to attach PDF files to tasks, so that others could import them to Good Note (5) so they could write on them. Looks like the new version is no longer allowing this! This a step back for us !.Version: 8.9.0

LOVED the app, but so disappointedLet me start off by saying if you need a push notification to pop up as a reminder when something is due, the app is NOT capable of providing that. I am beyond disappointed because this app gave us everything that we were looking for. I had reached out to the Customer service team to inquire about this because I thought I was doing something incorrectly, however they have gotten back to me saying the app is incapable of providing that sort of notification. I do want to note that I was getting notifications when something was commented on or liked, so the capability is there they just haven’t gotten to it yet. But overall great app, but disappointingly did not satisfy our needs..Version: 8.97.0

It’s good but it could be so much betterI use Asana extensively and prefer it over other project management tools… for the time being. The iOS app has been very slow to adopt available features for new releases on the platform like lock screen widgets and now interactive widgets for iOS 17. Why these weren’t supported from day one of these releases is beyond me as they are so suitable for an app of this type. There is also a sluggishness about supporting all platforms within the Apple ecosystem that other apps do so well. No Apple Watch app still and we only recently received a macOS app after years and years of pleading in their blog. It’s slow development like this that I fear will eventually lead myself and my team to a different platform..Version: 9.69.0

DisappointedI have asked repeatedly for support. Asana charges for additional emails if they are the same company and will not even allow as guests. I purchased the upgrade personally and they keep charging me even though I want to use it as a solo user. All I’m paying for is so I have an alarm for the scheduled items. It is extremely expensive and not worth what I’m paying. When I have tried contacting them for more info, they will not give me a contact or answer the phone on my invoice. No personal service and chat bot useless, Dark Net..Version: 8.43.0

Customer service???We have been dealing with a double account now for over a month. Customer service is only via email. Though they continue to link my account to another company that I don’t own, which that they did without my persuasion, they are not solving the problem. They Keep emailing the same fixes that don’t work, and do not provide any human to get on the phone to get it resolved. I would love their platform, if they weren’t so messed up in the customer service department. Though it will be a HUGE undertaking, I am now faced with having to take our entire company setup offline, and to some other platform. We have spent hours and hours setting this one up. This is costing our whole team money. But honestly, we have come to the end of our rope with this crew..Version: 9.39.0

IPad app is GarbageLove Asana on the desktop but this iPad app is a dumpster fire. The interface is severely nerfed in order to make it overly tablet-friendly. The entire point of calendar view is rendered COMPLETELY moot when i can only see one day at a time rather than a bird’s eye view of the month or week ahead. No access to templates. Can’t convert tasks to projects. No reporting. Board view is clumsy. Search is super slow. And I’m on the latest iPad Pro so that’s not the problem. The good news is that you can use the browser version on your iPad. The bad news is that when you pay thousands of dollars for a service like this…well, you kind of expect better. As far as Asana in general goes, it’s great. I’ll agree with a few other reviewers about the messaging though: it’s all there but is terribly implemented, which is so confusing to me. It feels like Asana doesn’t want you to use it. Make it it’s own section or a persistent panel that sits on the side or something. That would be a be a game changer; I’d drop our other chat platform..Version: 9.30.0

No support, serious issues.Certain core features aren’t available on mobile, making it impossible to onboard an entire team quickly. Zero support, but plenty of spam autobot emails. Like literal floods of them. Could be useful, but it’s too late for our companies. Have moved on. Be better..Version: 9.18.0

So nearly brilliantThis app is so nearly there that it’s frustrating. Amongst other things, it should be easier to view tasks, prioritise and print…I don’t know about the bugs but with some imagination and effort this app could be excellent. My suggestion is to carefully listen to your customers..Version: 9.45.0

Be aware ! You won’t be able to cancel itAs many others posted, no alternative to cancel, emails never get responded, chat doesn’t exist. Licence reviewed without a single advise or courtesy email and rolls for a new year straight. Impossible to manage and cancel. Good luck! Because we didn’t have it..Version: 8.32.0

Needs multiple account supportDecent except for the lack of multiple account support. Absolutely insufferable logging in and out regularly with the addition of 2FA slowing things down as well..Version: 9.19.0

Missing key featuresThe app misses the point of the product. Not easy to use, doesn’t have the timeline view and makes poor use of the size of the ipad screen.Version: 8.42.0

It does not work offlineMy biggest frustration with Asana is that it does not work offline. Many times I typed my thoughts on the app when I don’t have internet and when I connect, everything I did offline disappears and I am back to zero. Super frustrating for an app like this. I don’t want to be tied online all the time, yet I want to be able to think about things to do, write them down and pick them up the next day. Please fix this. Thanks Also, there seems to be a bug with syncing. I can’t seem to sync anything when am online lately. Seriously I don’t want to be spending my time on the app, retuning things. It should just work. You have a great and useful product, but it should work seamlessly..Version: 7.3.1

Watch Out - Will Not Accept Single UsersFirst, asana is a great platform. It’s got everything I needed and so I went through the 30 day trial only to get a nasty surprise at the end. They refuse to allow single user licenses. Seriously. They won’t take your money unless you can drag another coworker into it. So they force single users to pay DOUBLE in order to use their platform. I can’t even wrap my head around the idea of refusing a user’s subscription and good will. Now, all the project data I’ve input over the last 30 days is being held hostage because I won’t pay for an extra seat I don’t need or want. Keep in mind I want to pay them! I’d be happy to start a paid subscription. They simply won’t let me because all I want is a single license..Version: 9.59.0

User Experience is terribleTrying to do some basic things like look up all tasks assigned to a worker and it’s impossible to find. Not intuitive for sure. When viewing a task and clicking the worker it takes you to a task assigned to someone else. One touch later you’re accidentally un assigning the worker without any warning or confirmation. Accidentally touch another spot and with ZERO WARNING you just completed someone elses task and didn’t even know it. It’s delayed when you click something so you’re don’t know the effect of your click until seconds later and you already clicking something else. The search leaves little to be desired. Its so frustrating, and to make it worse, Asana disabled the web version 100% so there is not even a backup method. They’re forcing this crappy, horribly designed iOS version on all. In summary, I think this was designed for the unicorn user. I mean for the person who actually designed it. I expect that persona to have small fingers, and know exactly where the mystery hotspots are. For me, I’m uninstalling this iOS version and looking for a better option. Our company has been using Asana since 2014. Use the app and you get that nostalgic feeling of going back to that time..Version: 9.66.0

Love Asana, Hate the AppI need to clarify how much I love Asana. It’s so functional, versatile and adapts to so many team projects if you can creatively think of ways to use its functionality. IN A BROWSER. It is INCREDIBLY frustrating that the app has no functionality to see your Team Calendar. It’s crazy! The most useful function for our team is simply inaccessible via the app. And I can’t comprehend why? Have they not thought through the ways teams use their platform? I am still baffled. And the inability to add things directly into the team calendar by clicking on the dates is also a big miss. So, a mixed review here. Love Asana, hate the app..Version: 9.49.0

Calendar ViewNeeds better push notifications for tasks that are due and also calendar view.Version: 6.24.1

TitleEasy to use and minimalist but this app really needs smart due dates. Tapping in and out of menu after menu is tedious and frustrating..Version: 6.5.0

Frustrated about the interfaceThis app can definitely be a little confusing when workings with a team. We wasted a lot of time in communications especially because texts/threads can become chaotic and not easy to find. After a while, we ended up using emails again since it is messy on the app. Also it has become messy and unorganized since you can create as many subtasks as you need. I understand the idea sounds terrific but in reality it can create disorganization and you can omit a lot of information when you have so many subtasks there. And it becomes worst when people isn’t organized (which on our team creates more chaos on top of that). Overall you can tend to spend more time than the time you should spent on the app becoming less efficient. I found other applications more efficient in general. overall the app works fine with notifications and the desktop app works better than the iPhone one..Version: 9.48.0

Great promise but still incompleteThe app like the desktop applications has UI shortcomings that would suggest the devs have never used the product. Take for example subtasks. If you have say 10 tasks each with the same subtask you just get a list of the subtasks titles and no way to know what task they belong to making the task list a mess. The desktop similarly has no horizontal scroll bars so the board view is unusable if it has more than 5 elements. Promising app but not a platform independent project tool that you can jump from desk to web to ios seamlessly. Another huge missing piece is any help in the app. Again back to the browser. In a couple of years this will be good….so for business an expensive app to implement because of the UI shortcoming and required training…. Last thing tasks have start and end dates …. where is the start date you ask …. hidden in the timeline view and not available in the task card..Version: 9.18.0

TrashThis app is trash. It lets me login and think that I am creating a new project and tasks, and once I’ve done a bit of work it throws an error “can’t sync with server. Download the latest version”. Well I downloaded this version 5 minutes ago and there I no newer version. But really? What kind of customer experience is this? I would prefer the app to crash completely before use rather than bait and switching me into doing work and then throwing all that work away during an error. I’m connected to WiFi but either way where is your offline mode? There’s seriously no queue so that offline entries can be persisted when you are online? Or in this case when you completely break the parity between mobile and your API..Version: 7.17.0

Lags behindNo dark mode. No markdown support. No native Mac app. Clumsy and complicated interface. While I love Asana, I must recognise it lags behind its competitors (ClickUp, ZenKit, Quire and others), which is why I’m considering to stop using it. Also, the list view is quite ugly and cumbersome. Hasn’t Asana learned anything from the new developments in design and interface that we see in modern apps in the field of project and task management?.Version: 8.8.0

Forced to use App on mobileThe app is great, don’t get me wrong. BUT I’m not able to view Asana on my mobile browser - it forces me to use the app - which I’m not able to download unless I’m on wifi. So work on the go? Nah. We had to drive home today for a work emergency, just to get into Asana, because my phone has deleted the app (thanks apple). Whatever my own phone is doing or not - I should not be forced to use your app to be able to view a task, when I have a browser in my hand. It’s beyond frustrating when you’re already low on time..Version: 9.49.0

Great platform, iOS UX does my head inI love Asana but every time I load it on my iPad or iPhone I can’t do what I need do to - the UX and features are different. Asana pushes you to the iOS app by default even if you have a 12.9” iPad and want to go laptop free for a session or day. Hugely frustrating and flow-disruptive. Asana please finish aligning your tool functionality and UX - even if it’s just the list view on Asana to show basic things like status and getting a column width that’s usable. It’s doing my head in..Version: 9.63.0

Messy to navigate on my phoneThe desktop version makes sense and you can use a few different views to match your though processes, but in the phone app it’s just a heap of junk in no particular order. Tough to do anything unless you’re on your actual computer - which kind of ruins the whole process for me..Version: 8.30.0

Won’t syncI can’t even start a project or anything because it keeps saying it won’t sync. I uninstalled the app. Going to try to re-install it and see if anything changes :(.Version: 8.31.0

Input Field Expands More Than The ScreenLately I’ve been using this app to get notifications only and respond on the web version. I am using an iPad with magic keyboard and every time I want to add a comment to a task the input field would disappear. There are so many more bugs with this app but this is the one that I cannot seem to work with. Will give a higher rating when this is fixed..Version: 9.30.0

Just one more half baked business appTries to do a number of things, but does nothing well. Esoteric interface, missing basic functionality. One more app that we have to cross post everything on (I’ve lost count of how many different systems the company now uses) because everyone has their favourite. Only using it because someone in the company decided it was cool and we have to use it..Version: 8.4.0

Useful service, undercooked iPad appThe Asana service is good, but the iPad app leaves most things to be desired. It works, and does not crash. On a landscape iPad, however, it is ridiculous to have a table view that contains just the names of the task followed by a large blank area, when the screen could easily contain a list of tasks on the left and a task details pane on the right. Disappointing..Version: 4.13

Please support PWAHere's my suggestion: remove this app from the App Store and enable Progressive Web App support for the Asana website. The website has all the features and much better UI than this app, but is lacking PWA support for a separate window experience. Plus, the website keeps bugging me to open or install the iOS app, which is annoying..Version: 8.22.0

Beware of you ever want to leave AsanaWe signed up to a brief trial of Asana but decided it wasn't for us compared to an alternative option we found. We therefore decided to close our account. First, we couldn't find a way to do that ourselves in settings so contacted customer service. We requested they close our account and delete all data held. We got a reply saying we had time left on our free trial and they ignored the deletion request. We again requested they close and delete our account data. We then got an email asking for written confirmation from all users along with confirmation we were in the UK (and subject to protection from GPDR). We replied and have just received the following that states: "Taking into account the complexity of the process, your request will be carried out over the course of the next three months in accordance with the permitted timelines set out in Article 12(3) of the GDPR beginning on the day you have written to confirm that we can deactivate your account." So we try our a service briefly and they make it as difficult and long winded as they can when we simply ask them, as is our legal right, to remove the data they hold? If this doesn't concern potential users of their service then I don't know what will. Avoid this company and their awful data privacy practices..Version: 8.23.0

Lacking a key feature!ASANA is good but certainly NOT great. The app is able to manage all of the users tasks, and I really like the ability to use boards vs lists for projects. However, the reminders/notifications are so lacking that the user is forced to remember to revisit the app. There is NO WAY FOR TIME-BASED PUSH NOTIFICATIONS. What kind of productivity app is incapable of creating a little nudge at the time of the task being due? Developers allow users to set a time due and then remind them at 9 am of everything that is due that day—broken. As soon as this issue is solved, ASANA would be a one stop shop for productivity. Unfortunately, until then it’s not functional for full integration..Version: 7.3.0

Will you unsubscribe and forget me please? An interesting case - and one which seems to have some potentially awkward repercussions for everyone. I tried the app - it was good but it wasn’t for me - and I would now like to clear my footprint. It has been interesting and thought provoking but I now want to ‘disappear’ into the mist. At a simple level therefore I would like to unsubscribe from e-mails and have my ‘account’ deleted. But you simply can’t do it and I find myself in an Asanalimbo. There should be guidelines and privacy laws about this kind of thing... Oh I forgot...there are!.Version: 8.32.0

Missing Critical Functionality: PrioritizingThought I would use this app for my husband and I to keep track of all our household projects. I am a Project Manager by day and have worked with a few different professional tools. Asana is missing a very basic piece of functionality: prioritizing! The priority set by the drag and drop feature should be carried to all member’s lists of the project (everyone on the project should be working off the same priority). I looked up some work-arounds to accomplishing this, like custom fields, but they are not available in the free version. This should be an out-of-the-box, free feature. Going to delete this app and keep looking for one to meet our needs..Version: 6.24.1

Would be a 4 starFor starters, this is an amazing app with incredible functionality, with a lot of the functions for free. That being said the most annoying, and on my behalf unusable thing about this app, is that you cannot use this app off-line. I can’t use this on any of the projects I’ve worked on so far because Wi-Fi is not allowed in the area and I very rarely have access at the most important times with ethernet. As soon as you have it so that you can Edit and have where you were when you left the office and were connected available off-line. This is nothing more than a shiny toy.Version: 6.16.0

Calendar all tasks? Widget by date. They have updated so that you can see the calendar view on each project but this is useless to me, I use this as a management tool so I need to be able to take in an overview of different projects at once. The ios widget is also really frustrating as you only see projects that Asana has decided to tag as “today” instead of things that are actually to be done chronologically today and the only way to fix it is manually which is an extra burden on my time and inclines me to use an automated Zapier google cal integration instead. This app is useful (when online) to add tasks or see a list of tasks due but isn't great for being able to focus clearly on what needs to be done today..Version: 6.3.0

Disconnect in app verse siteYour iOS app is missing a lot of the development the site has so making this app near unusable..Version: 7.9.0

Good app but customer service excruciatingI tested the system out for a company project as we aren’t 100% happy with current system and I was tasked with finding a new one. I didn’t have a huge by of time to test but it seems brilliant. We ran out of time to adopt for the most recent project but decided to shelve it for the next one. That’s where the issues started. Getting a response from their customer services was impossible (often taking 4 days) and I subsequently got charged for 2 months whilst not using the system at all and asking to cancel, which I couldn’t do automatically because of a technical issue. It’s not a huge amount of money but the fact that there were no apologies or offer of recompense make the drivel on their website seem pretty hollow. Features not the same in web, mobileIt would be great if this had all the basic features that even the free web version does… but it doesn’t, and that boggles my mind. For me, the biggest thing is that the app doesn’t support tags, which we rely heavily on in Asana. Try to log in in Safari on my iPhone or iPad and… it just redirects you to the app, or if you delete the app, it directs you to download it. Why even have an app if it’s not going to have feature parity (every method of accessing Asana should have parity with the other methods), and why *completely block people* from using your web site to get to the features your mobile apps lack? Tbh, we wanted to expand our use of Asana, but dumb (because this is basic stuff they haven’t fixed in years, and shouldn’t be too hard to do, and are table stakes) stuff like this is just hamstringing our use of it and keeping it really limited..Version: 9.39.0

Good but lack essential featureGenerally good but not for long term mainstream use. Not able to add task for long term like in 10 years time. For example, remind yourself to replace fire alarm in 10 years time, it doesn’t allow you to enter that due date. Also, it’s ridiculously tedious to set due date like in 2 years— you have to scroll the calendar each month, that is, 24 times. It’s unthinkable. With this essential feature not thought-out, I’ll look somewhere else for long term use..Version: 8.20.1

EntrapmentI hate it when developers tie you in. I want to delete my account entirely. I can’t find a way to do this. There is an option to ‘deactivate’ it but you still remain on their system. If you still choose to deactivate your account then you CANNOT do it via iOS you must use a computer. If you want to contact customer support then you CANNOT do it via iOS, yet again you must use other means. If you want to change your email address then you CANNOT do it via iOS!!! This is 2018!!! I don’t want to be chained to my desk to do anything! I want to be able to do what I like via my phone. This is absolute rubbish. I absolutely abhor companies like this that tie you in and trap you as much as possible. They make it difficult for you to leave for their own statistics. I’m gutted that I had to give one star even. 👎🏼 If the developer is reading this, then please add a ‘delete account’ option (or deactivate if you must) for mobile phone users!.Version: 6.17.0

App lacks functionalityWould love the ability to “un-delete” deleted tasks from the app in an easy to find menu option. Also since an update to both app/computer Asana a few months ago, we’ve lost the ability to “mark” a task for “today” or “upcoming” and these particular headings under the “my tasks” tab no longer automatically apply and move tasks from the “upcoming” into “today”. The “today” list feels almost redundant now.. Because I have to move tasks over myself and or tasks that are upcoming can sit in today for as long as possible. Can we please get this back to how it was.. It’s affecting our companies work flow with how Asana previously worked compared to how it works now..Version: 8.70.0

Unable to reach tech supportWe are a team of 2, and only one of us has access to the home page. We both had it for the first hour or so, then mine disappeared and has never returned. The live webinar was no help- they said to contact tech support. Tech support is just a series of articles and none apply to my situation. Tried deleting the app and reinstalling it, updating the app, updating my iPad Pro, search you tube videos, etc. I can never ever get to my Home Screen and now it’s a useless app. Shame because we were in love with it at first! If anyone has a way to help me, I’m listening! Thank you!.Version: 8.65.0

Great App BUT Missing these 2 features are killing team work and productivityAsana has really been a game change for me personally. BUT, not so much for my team. People are typically stressed out and overwhelmed with Asana because of these 3 things. 1- IOS and even on Web app, it’s EXTREMELY difficult getting to the conversations area. As a result, people on my team resort to random and chaotic text/email threads. Solution? Have a dedicated conversations/chat area on iOS, easy to find and not hidden away. It’s questionable how they placed conversations deep within project area. For those new to Asana and even tech for that matter, it’s really a pain to get people to use a tool when important features are tucked away. 2- Feedback from my team has suggested that it is equally confusing and difficult trying to find files, folders and reference material. Sure Asana has a dedicated space hidden to find files and app for a particular project however, there really needs to be a central are to not just see files/folders but have ways of organizing as see fit. In our business, our team is constantly using the same documents for projects or our business. Solution? Create a a documents/folders dashboards are for which to store and save files with flexibility. Basecamp did this the best having hierarchy and easy accessibility for documents and folders..Version: 7.14.1

New version caused notifications to stopGreat app for work related communication, unfortunately this new version has caused the app to stop posting notifications. I have checked the notification centre on my phone and everything is turned on. Anyone else having this issue?.Version: 9.37.0

Worst app everWould help if you could update your details, change email ect through app. Also browser forces you to use app on devices when I don’t want to..Version: 7.5.0

HORRIBLE clients of people who want to use this appIf people want to use asana to manage their work, great for them. What is awful about it is it forces their clients to use asana to communicate through asanas messages. I don’t want to install an app. I don’t want to click a link on my email to see what someone wrote me. I want to be able to search my own emails if I need to find something in our thread. I don’t want to use asana, but since the company I’m working with does, I have to go through the hassle. Asana needs to send messages to others as normal emails or something to stop frustrating others who don’t want to use their system. My whole office is beyond annoyed to the point we don’t want to be the one to work with the clients who use asana. If you are thinking of using asana for your own business management, please don’t use their messaging and task system with others. It’s seriously frustrating for others working with you..Version: 8.86.0

Poor supportI used to love Asana. In my new business, however, I can’t get basic things like connection to Google Drive working. I wrote a detailed note to support but, 48h later, got no answer, except from an automated response acknowledging the ticket. I can’t afford to wait this long for a return and a fix - this is a business tool, not a social network platform..Version: 7.13.0

Unlawful inability to cancel this appI cannot cancel this app. I follow the instructions to cancel but it won’t let me. I even tried the “Rport a Problem” Page here on the App Store. The part where you click is covered by an unclickable message. My 30 day trial ends in 8 days! But it won’t let me cancel. I wonder how much money they scam doing this?? Cancel my account!!!.Version: 9.34.0

BuggyWhen i create a task on a board it always moves it to the first list on the board rather than the list I created the task for. I then have to manually move each task to the desired list after creating them. This just started happening and has made creating tasks i. The app very frustrating..Version: 9.65.0

IPad not like desktop?Like most things to do with the iPad. The closer it is to the desktop the better. Rather than thinking of it like a mobile app, think of it like a desktop browser made to suit the iPad. One other thing - how do i upload a photo lol..Version: 9.13.0

Bring back the colonThere is currently no way to add a section on an iPad, rendering the app essentially useless. Stay away until they fix it. (P.S.: it’s been six months, they ain’t fixing it.).Version: 7.16.0

Something is fishy with the reviewsAsana, as an experience I’ve been burdened with at work, is pretty average. Lots of features, not a great workflow, but I can live with it. One of my biggest issues with Asana is the burden it places on me to figure out the context of “where I am” with any given issue/ticket/whatever. It’s messy and disorganized. Complex workflows or automation are slooooowwwwwww. This is amplified by several orders of magnitude on iOS. The interface is difficult, unclear and generally the kind of frustrating experience that makes it difficult to work on the iPad (IE it’s the apps not the tool itself). There are so many issues beyond “where I am”. The most pressing is the same inability to resize the bulk of the reading to a decent column size. Why are my tasks lists taking up 2/3rds of the screen and the tasks themselves with all the details and conversation forced into a view the size of a smartphone? While the same concern exists on the web app, I do have some control over other factors. Let’s not even talk about the auth/login flow. I must have had to click login and signing at least three different times, including a final “login to Asana” after I’d “logged into Asana.”.Version: 8.16.0

Not very accommodatingIn general, while this product is solid and useful, it could be much better if not for the ivory tower attitude of its developers. It’s fine if you’re willing to do things their way. But they don’t give you enough control over the user experience which Is littered with little annoyances that drag down the overall experience. For example, there appears no way to turn off the annoying splash screen in the iOS app that displays for a ridiculously long time. There’s pretty much zero opportunity to tailor it to your preferences or needs. I won’t be persuaded to pay for this app until there is. If you are evaluating this product, there is no obvious or easy way to ask questions or give feedback. (Sorry, help forums are not convenient. Convenient for the developer maybe, not the customer)..Version: 8.19.0

No GoApp just decides it wants to live on the login page and not let users get past. What ever you did in the last update can you FIX IT PLEASE?!?.Version: 7.10.1

An expensive to-do-listBeing a platform for Project management ‘dependencies’ for tasks should come as standard. But you have to pay a lot extra to get that feature..Version: 8.32.0

Ok but needs some funkThe bones are there to make a useful AND fun task manager that I want to use, but it needs the funk that Trello has to really make me want to use it. Things like photo backgrounds, colours and icons etc. these things aren’t gimmicks, they make you want to use it. Strongly suggest you get some graphic design support..Version: 8.10.0

Missing desktop functionsThis app could be brilliant if they included some of the important elements sadly missing from the app that are only available on the desktop version. Creating a new team, copying tasks to different members being just a few. I looked online and there are a number of posts asking for these features to be included dating back to 2017, and yet still no sign of them. Looks like they have been more focused on their IPO than developing the app..Version: 8.36.0

No push notifications on appEven when using the desktop site, I rely on my phone to remind me of tasks. Email reminders get lost with all the other things I need to do in my inbox. Please fix this. Still need to use Wunderlist for this feature..Version: 7.0.0

Looks simple but feels clunky to meI don’t find this app to be very intuitive in design. I find myself wasting time by looking for simple functions, such as setting privacy. I expected more transparency in settings and more fluidity in project management - based on the sample pictures here. Maybe it is more simple to use than it seems at first glance, but I found the setup to be confusing, possibly because it’s geared more for teams. I’m a Solopreneur so I have no team to share projects with. Therefore, constantly seeing prompts to invite team members or to share a project or to even have a project set to “public,” just makes no sense for me. It can be a little defeating and overwhelming to be consistently reminded that everything is a solo activity. I think it’s an awesome team app option that is free and ..for anyone who wants to take a little time learning how to access the mobile app functions or better personalize the project tasks, it is most likely a winner. But solo artists and entrepreneurs should keep looking. This is why I am more neutral with a 3 star rating. It’s not a bad app, it’s just not feature rich or intuitive enough for my needs. To clarify, I’m looking for quick and easy note taking and brain dump features in a clean and intuitive app layout that features project management through fast and easy task organization. If it takes too long to fumble for settings then I’ve already forgotten what I opened the app for..Version: 9.42.0

Serves little purpose other than alertsWorking in a large marketing department we find asana invaluable. But I’m not a fan of the mobile app. I use it on my iPhone just to see alerts. Anything I want to work on I go to my laptop web UI. In the mobile app I find it very frustrating. Scroll down too far and suddenly you are in a different task. Frankly I find it unusable. But the alerts I like..Version: 8.4.1

Y force to download app. No mobile site? It worked before.Y force to download app. No mobile site? It worked before..Version: 9.22.0

DisappointedThe concept is great however, only my partner can add items, for this reason am deleting.Version: 9.37.0

Not for what I needI’m sure this app is great, however I’m a Detailer with severe OCD so when it comes to organization I need an app that can do it all… ideally I would like my boss to be able to add a car to my list and me be able to change the status from Start to In Progress to Completed without having to create a new task between start and in progress (if that makes sense) which is super important so we know how long it’s taking us to complete tasks and my boss knows where we are at in terms of our work load without having to come downstairs or text us. also being able to manually order the tasks based on priority would be handy too… obviously these are just a few things Im looking for in an app so maybe this can be some good feedback for the developers..Version: 8.70.0

No offlineI love the app on my desktop but never use it on my phone. If you're likely using it on your phone you are out and about and usually with limited Internet connection. One of the biggest benefits of native apps is the ability to have offline functionality. This app is therefore useless for me when I'm travelling on the train, on a plane or overseas! Great desktop experience, useless iPhone experience.Version: 6.2.0

Cluttered and overwhelmingOther apps like Jira have recently overhauled their user interface to make it better able to convey the most important information first and filter everything else with tons of space in between so that the amount of information is less overwhelming. I think Asana could do a lot to improve their notifications both in filtering and selecting when they want to be notified. I also think that Asana is somewhat confusing and in someways is almost too flexiblewhen setting up projects and working cross functionally because it requires almost what seems to be a collegiate degree to understand how the pieces fit together.Version: 9.73.0
