✓ Was my goto app for memes..This used to be my goto app for memes and then they decided to wreck it, I paid for the pro version and then they decide that the pro version I paid for is only valid for the features I had back when I paid for it, all newer features will need to be paid for again (kinda like a pro pro version) they gonna go for a third time so people who already paid twice need to pay again next year for the latest new features?? What a scam!! Without people like me paying initially they would be in a position to be selling the latest updates and asking me for a second payment!.Version: 3.0.3

✓ Great, but missing a game changing featureAs the title suggests, the app is very well done. It’s great for photos and gifs, but not videos as it advertises. You can CONVERT videos to gif format and add the text to the top, but you can not actually import a video with sound. This was my main purpose for downloading this app, but I’m sure it says something about this in the app description. For only $2.99 you can unlock the pro features — a much better price than the others, with some charging $2.99 a month. Adding a video import would be a much higher selling point to users like me. But, I do like this app very much as it is very simple to use, including a great layout, simple buttons to choose your meme type, etc..Version: 1.7.1

✓ A little disappointed tbhI just upgraded to pro. I feel disappointed I cant have more than one size of lettering in a single meme; i cannot go back to edit more once I get to the last stage where I can look at it properly, i cant have more than one colour, size or font of text in each meme. So this is pretty basic. There are a few features that really could enhance this app. But if you want to put a few words on an image or colour block, you can. Im on my 3 day free trial but right now Im wondering how to stop my payment as, tbh, compared with the free version, the pro version is still rather clunky. Not sure it is worth spending the money. ✓ Good but subscription ruins itWith the plethora of meme creation apps out there, mematic fits the bill and is competent at what it does with some pretty creative results, however where this app fails, as with many others, is the need to subscribe if you want to unlock pro features, remove watermark, ads etc. I miss the days of a one-off payment which, without doubt I would have paid for to have complete freedom and have the app as one to keep and use regularly. If I was to pay the subscription fee for every app I used, I would be paying hundreds a month, and for phone apps which for the most part are just for fun, this is unrealistic. As it is, it becomes an app I’ll maybe use now and again as it gets lost in the many pages of apps until another catches my attention or has a better offer..Version: 3.0.23

Don’t let this type of selling become standard practice. It’s blatant dishonesty and a cash grab, not providing the customer with a full comprehensive package. Like most these business models, they see what is popular and then in later versions make you pay for it. Strip it back and make you pay for something that was standard. ✓ Fairly good app, ruined by pay wallThe app in itself has fairly good functionality with many options I didn’t think I’d see on mobile. However the experience is crippled by constant ads and blocked off features which can only be respectively removed and unlocked by paying. The pay wall unfortunately is completely ridiculous. They charge upwards of £16 ($20) PER YEAR for these features (not a one time payment, it’s recurring) and I find this completely unnecessary. I would happily pay up to £10 for a fully unlocked ad free experience, but this subscription nonsense is quite frankly absurd..Version: 2.2.1
✓ Mematic Pro Subscription ErrorI've been using this app for about a year now. And I have to say it's been alright. Came in handy multiple times whenever I needed to make a meme. But here recently I've noticed that it's begun to add the watermark again. I thought "Huh, well that's odd." I go to the home acreen of the app and it says "upgrade to pro" ... Uh, I've been using pro for like a year. And get this: When I try to "subscribe" (because it obviously isn't letting me use the pro version, being that it's putting the watermark in the corner) it says THAT I'M ALREADY SUBSCRIBED. Yet I can't use the pro version that I AM PAYING FOR. Then it gives me an error. 💀💀💀 I mean I have plenty of cash in my bank account so I don't see what the issue is here... For now, I'm going to uninstall, because I'm not paying for nothing. Plus, I don't have ANY other apps giving me this issue. Please fix this..Version: 3.3.8
✓ Nice app but huge problemI have used it many times from now, but everytime when I would save my video (actually waiting for rendering), the battery would have 6% less. For just 2 minutes! ✓ Ads have spoilt a good appI really enjoyed using this app, but now adverts have been introduced. A warning to anyone who wants to download this: only do so if you want to be plagued with ads every time you create a meme. There is an advert hiding part of the screen when you are making the meme, and then one which takes up the whole screen for sometimes THIRTY seconds after you have made it. I do not want to waste that much time. I do not know if a ‘Pro’ subscription will remove this, but who would be willing to pay a monthly subscription just to make some memes (of which most of the features are available on the Photos app)? Overall, the app is good, but the ads have ruined it. I am sad to say I will no longer be using this app..Version: 2.1.1

✓ Great app, but needs some bug fixesThe meme options are endless! I pay for the app and have been a long time user. My only complains are that the “favorites” feature doesn’t work, so I can’t save memes I like when browsing. Also, once you click on a meme or are editing one, there’s no way to go back to the meme you were at previously—instead, it makes you start ALL over, at the main menu page. So often i find a meme I like but then I can’t find it again, which takes up a lot of time. If these two issues were fixed, it would save me a lot of time and I would give it 5 stars!.Version: 3.1.2

✓ Seems greatThe only reason this misses out on 5 stars is how much it hamstrings you before you pay. I know the idea is to encourage you to splash out for it but, in all honesty, it holds so much back behind the paywall that it’s difficult to tell if it’s worth taking that extra step. In the end, I found another app that appeared initially more basic, but it allowed me to do a lot more so after using it 3 times, I was more than happy to buy it. With this, I don’t know how much more there is available and it just doesn’t give me the urge or incentive to by it. ✓ Not Worth The InstallI bought Mematic over a few years ago. And now I am officially fed up with in the direction they are going. They keep changing where the locations of buttons are and menus which was logically vertical now they are left to write in a small Column without the fun background designs we had before. They made it a subscription for god knows what reason to access any features. Even though I payed for the original pro version. Where opacity was free. Now it isn’t they now took that away from being free and made it payed for. This app has lost my following as it’s been changed not for logic but for greed. I’d rather pay 10 dollars for all features and have menu layout sorted how I please compared to paying a subscription. Such a disappointment. Would not recommend.Version: 3.2.3
✓ Good. If it didn’t freezeSo I just got this app recently and I love it. It is simple, easy to use, and my friends and I like doing competitions of who can make the best meme. But there is one problem that made this app a 3/5. In fact whenever I try to click on a meme format it always freezes. I end up not making the meme and just send the images to my friend on discord so he can make it for me. Not only does it freeze when I am trying to select a meme format, but it also freezes whenever I make a meme. Sorry if this is confusing but pretty much, I think it gives me a time limit before it freezes. I can’t use any formats because they freeze, so I have to screenshot a picture of the image I want in order to make the meme in a time crunch. When I do make the meme eventually when it says save I click it and then the screen freezes again. ✓ I’m sorry, but this isn’t what I was expecting...Honestly I’m not sure what I thought this app would be like, but the in app purchases are expensive. You only get two fonts without the pro membership, and I have never seen a more expensive membership... I’m really not willing to pay this much just to use all of the features this app offers... it is sixty dollars a year for the monthly membership, which is, in my opinion, unreasonable, and it is thirty for the full yearly membership. This app isn’t really all that and a bag of chips like I was hoping for, and being completely honest, I wouldn’t recommend this app to others if I knew they wouldn’t want to pay these prices... the app itself is pretty okay, but you get very little features without the membership... you only get two fonts out of so many, unless you have the paid pro membership. ✓ Why why why??First i LOVE this app. It’s very easy to use when I just want to make a quick meme. But adding a subscription to use all of the new features? I paid for the pro service and I do not regret that. But there are various apps out there (Pic Collage) that can do these kind of features (with more options) easily in their free version. So why would I want pay for a subscription on one that does just the basic things? I love this app, but I will probably use the free version of Pic Collage or ImgPlay (one time cheap fee for pro) to edit my GIFs from now on...unfortunately. ✓ A Huge Bias on Photo StockI forgot to add that although I like this product. As a black woman, I don’t feel equally represented in the stock photos and memes. It is obvious that whoever created this worships and is obsessed with white women. Then they’ll sprinkle a little black, Asian, and men in the choices every once in a while. Bias and discrimination is okay until it’s a product and can cause others to be bias and discriminatory. If it is what you’re biased for personally, it’s okay. But if you’re selling a product, you shouldn’t be biased or discriminatory when it comes to race, gender, and nationality. You should be professional enough to not allow your preferences and obsessions to pour over into your work and products.
