Clear Todos for Negative User Reviews

Should be taken off App StoreThe developer is listed as Realmac, but they aren’t. When you click on Developer Website you are sent back to the App Store. Lots of problems with the product and no easy way to get my data out..Version: 1.7.8

Overhyped and Glitchy.RealMac software have been around for a long time, with above-average but not top-tiering Mac Software. But unfortunately, the overhype behind this app has come around to kick them in a painful spot. Pretty User Interface is pretty much the only "new feature" this app offers to users. They manage to pull this off, but the gesture use is too heavily laden, and they often do not work on my iPhone 4. Swiping to create a new list or item often glitches the app. The keyboard does not show and I am often forced to close the application from App Switcher and try again. Bottom line: Save your money and use Reminders that shipped with iOS 5. This app also charged me twice..Version: 1.0.1

Great start point but lacks functionalityClear is a great starting point but in its current state it's really just a pretty short note app. And I really mean short as each item can only contain text for that box. To make it work as a todo app it needs to have a little more in the way of options like reminder alarms and being able to enter a bit more text when needed. It does have a great ui and it fun to use with the logical and natural gesture control but at present for me, it's not really much more than a shopping list app which I could have got for free on the app store without the cool design. Bit disappointing but looking forward to future updates hopefully adding some more functionality. I'll continue to use 2do and Due for now as my main reminder/productivity apps. 2🌟'a for the cool design and gestures.Version: 1.0

Still looking for the To Do list of my dreamsThis is OK, animations are cute, but the inability to move items *between* lists is a huge oversight. I added a bunch of tasks in the list I happened to have open, then realised they were in the wrong place. I didn't want to retype them all, so...drifted away from using this app. I came here (to the reviews section) hoping to suggest to the developers that they add this feature, but someone else has commented the developers are unresponsive. I hope that's not the case!.Version: 1.7.4

I thought this would be simpleI’m 60 years old, been using Apple Reminders for years but the app is incredibly buggy on my phone, to the point it’s really not usable anymore. I wanted a simple Reminders app that was like Reminders, where I could set shopping lists, daily and weekly reminders in categories. Many popular reminders apps don’t have categories like Food shopping. This one sounded like what I wanted. I just bought it and am so frustrated already! Ot has one list now “personal” but there is nothing that says how to add a new list/category. No support that I can see either. The swipes and pinches are confusing why can’t these apps use the simple interface Reminders does? I am desperate for my old Reminders app (started to have problems after an upgrade 3 years ago and no one can help me fix it). This was not it! I don’t understand how to use it and wasted $5..Version: 1.7.10

Way to shut out everyone with out an iPhone 5 or iOS6.Guess it's a good thing I have an old version of this app, the makers here saw fit to say "screw everyone with old software or firmware" and made it iOS6 only, for no particularly good reason..Version: 1.2

Still will not syncHaving received an email advising of a (sort of) relaunch of an update to Clear coming soon, I thought I’d try it again. I wondered why I had stopped using it years ago because I totally love the design and the principles of operation. After putting it on one ipad and then on the iphone, I got a message that iCloud sync didn’t; and, yes, I did switch on the sync. Switched sync off and on again and it still won’t work. Ah yes, that’s why I stopped using Clear some years ago – the sync just stopped working. Undaunted, I thought I’ll try it on my iPad Pro too. Well, there seems to be no way that I can even get to the Settings on the iPad Pro to even try to turn on iCloud sync to trial it. Why, does the new installation not have a List labelled “Introduction” and which continues simple instructions? I’ll try the new version when it arrives but the sync had better work..Version: 1.7.10

Good minimal app, iCloud doesn't workI have the desktop app but the lists won't update between them so I'm left with 2 different lists. Last year I used it everyday, now I'm switching to Apple's Reminder app.Version: 1.7.4

OverratedSo confusing! Where are the options for timed or repeating reminders? I don't understand how this app is so popular. They must've paid off half the Apple tech blogosphere. It does nothing..Version: 1.3.6

Doesn't SyncI like the user interface but the app doesn't sync across my devices makes nag it pretty useless. I feel ripped off!.Version: 1.7.4

Good But...You can't move items from one folder to another and doesnt support integration with your contact list for one touch calling or texting like AnyDo. Otherwise I find it useful.Version: 1.2

Not as reliable as it used to beSince the last update which fixed the big issues I have noticed a new problem. After editing a note in a list the note sometimes disappears completely. At first I thought I’d made a mistake but it’s happened a few times now. Going to have to switch to a different app. Sad times as I’ve been using this app for years.Version: 1.7.10

Prrrt...Ok the gestures are cool for 5 minutes, but no date prioritizing, no reminder system: by email, SMS nor pop-up. No task importing / syncing from Apple Reminder, Google or any other. Not impressed, even for 1$..Version: 1.0.1

Great, but...No ipad app, and a terribly expensive desktop app. If these problems were both fixed, Clear would be the uncontested 5-star winner. As it stands however, Clear is talking to itself in the wilderness..Version: 1.2

Ok app but…..I have used this app for years and have been fairly happy, but one thing that has compelled me to write a review is I don’t understand why I clear an item, while shopping, and it automatically flies to the bottom of my lists. I have to scroll all the way to the top of the current list in order to keep shopping. Very annoying..Version: 1.7.10

Missing functionality and watch app missingHi i recently paid for your app i read the ad you guys posted but unfortunately i dint find it working on apple watch.. 2 nd most important point i downloaded the todo list to keep few task as daily and i expected this app has a repeat loop for some tasks I could not find any way to set a list of task on daily repeat loop i can only set them once as per the calendar So if u guys can make up these to points i will have u guys 5 stars and i will ask my team to download this app as well plz give the update asap Thanks in advance 🙏.Version: 1.7.7

Great app, but iCloud Drive syncing undependableI consider Clear to be the best todo list and tracking app that I have used! While I have used it, I used it on my iPhone, my iPad, and my Macs. It is the simplest, easiest app of its kind to use! Sad to say though, I have had to stop using Clear because after the introduction of ICloud Drive, the syncing between my devices is so sporadic that I can no longer depend on it to be done in a timely fashion amongst all devices. What troubles me the most about this is that my other 10 or 12 apps that use iCloud drive work just fine, so I do not understand why the folks who maintain Clear cannot do so as well. During repeated reports of this problem to the developers, I cooperatively tried every recovery methodology that they suggested; all to no successful/continuous remedy of my reported problems. Clear developers: when you get iCloud Drive working properly, then I will be back because as I say, the Clear app is the best todo list app out there so all you have to do is get your iCloud Drive syncing working properly and consistently for me to use it again..Version: 1.6.1

Stopped sync with iCloudSo happy to see the latest update. When will the sync issue be fixed? This is an awesome product. Please fix the sync. I love this product and want it to sync from my Mac to my phone..Version: 1.7.10

Was so great beforeLong time user, was always pleased in the past... but over time the devs did not really improve it, just made it worst. plus, it's 2015, would be time to make it sync accross devices maybe? using something else now! too bad because the minimalism looks great..Version: 1.6.1

Lacking features- still no Web compatibility. - no force touch update. Although the app is Pretty. Apple's Reminders is more practical..Version: 1.7.4

Save your $$Horrible. Complete waste of 99 and time..Version: 1.0.1

Could be better👎limited number of characters 👎can't edit text once entered 👎can't geotag 👎can't add reminders.Version: 1.0.1

Used to be my favouriteThis app used to be my favourite list app, the UI was beautiful. Unfortunately hasn’t been updated for years and now quite unusable on iPhone 14 Plus..Version: 1.7.8

Update needed!Fantastic app, simple design, no nonsense. Perfect storm, right? Yep! Well, it used to be. These days it loses things!!! You enter something and sometimes it scrolls to the bottom of the list without saving. Argh! It’s not too bad when you delete something in a list and it deletes that thing then scrolls to the bottom of the list but when you add something and it doesn’t save it but scrolls to the bottom and you don’t realise it hadn’t saved then that’s absolute toilet! I added LOADS of things before I worked out this is what was happening - I thought yeah, it’s added it but then scrolled to the bottom of the list for no reason but NO - it didn’t save and scrolled down. All my plans of taking over the universe are GONE!! okay, so it’s not the end of the world (for you all or me), but it’s hot and miss wether this does what it’s intended for, so I can’t recommend it for new users. To the devs - please update it like you promised a year ago, after getting our hopes up after years of neglect. Go on, you know you want to ;).Version: 1.7.8

Still no iCloud sync?Excited to see an app update but still no iCloud sync? Clear is by far the neatest to do around but without sync across devices it’s no use to me :-(.Version: 1.7.11

Handy, But With Annoying OperationDo you create lists with numerous entries that you will re-use week to week? I do, and find it frustrating to use this app. I have a grocery shopping list with multiple items I buy weekly or fairly often. As I shop, I swipe right to check off items I’ve placed in my cart, and the app works fine. The problem occurs when I swipe left to uncheck items for the following week's shopping - after scrolling beyond the items initially displayed, swiping left on on item causes the app to jump to the bottom of the list and forces me to manually scroll all the way back to the top. Works the opposite way if I’m working with items from the bottom of the list. I guess I’ve come to accept this odd behavior, but it’s an issue I wish the developers would fix, or at least provide control over..Version: 1.7.9

IOS 16 has broken one of the best apps on the App StoreI absolutely adore this app, and have for years and years. Unfortunately, it no longer works under iOS 16. You can't add to lists or create new ones. This is a five star app with no competitor that matches its feature set, but unfortunately it is now unusable. I really really hope that the developer fixes this or puts out a new version - I would very happily pay to have this app work again..Version: 1.7.8

Not compatible with iPod touch (3rd generation) after allIOS 6 isn't available for the iPod touch (3rd generation) so how is it compatible? Guess I won't be updating to v1.2..Version: 1.2

So close, but so farIf you want a simple to-do list. This is it. But that's if ALL you want is an absolute basic to-do list. This app could be outstanding, if only the developers were remotely interested in taking user requests into account. The biggest missing thing, is any support for recurring tasks. Without that, this app is almost useless as a general to-do app. EVERYONE has recurring tasks. If you don't mind entering those in, over and over again, then you might like this app. If you think the app should be able to do such a basic task itself, then look elsewhere. Also, this app has a glacial development history. Don't expect a recurring tasks feature to appear for another two years, if ever. There's also no reminder for overdue things. Believe it or not. In fact you can't even see if something is overdue, without looking at the completion date set for EVERY task! It's really sad. This app deserves so much more, from its creators. It just seems they're completely disinterested in it. Sad..Version: 1.7.1

Wow very disappointedWith all the press this app got you'd think it turned water into wine. But instead I'm reminded what an echo chamber the tech blogosphere is. They should call this app "tasks for hipsters" because if you don't like it people tell you that you just don't get it. What I get from using this app is frustrated and annoyed. Having to memorize gestures in order to use this app is just plan wrong. Mark a task off as done by mistake and you have no choice but to reenter it. LAME! Ohhh but it has sounds and pretty colors and gestures...please give your heads a shake. Exclusivity by obscurity...sounds pretty hipster to me..Version: 1.0.1

Excellent, but…Everything I want in a task manager: intuitive, beautiful, and not bogged down with too many bells and whistles. BUT! It will no longer synchonise between devices. I’ve disabled & reenabled iCloud, uninstalled & reinstalled, rebooted devices - no joy. I've paid for this for iPhone, iPad, and MacOS, but without sync, I've switched to Microsoft’s excellent To Do app..Version: 1.7.8

Forgotten App :(I’m migrating to iOS Reminders app. This app is good. It used to be great. Looks like the developers have stopped working on it. No updates in 3 years. The latest iOS update has made the app so buggy it’s pretty much unusable. There’s no way to contact the developer..Version: 1.7.8

Visually pleasing but could offer more features for the price pointI think this is visually a really great App and that was what drew me to it over other organisation apps. However, when I chose to purchase it, it was because I had just got an iPad Pro and wanted to use it over the notes app already installed - but sadly, even though it says this is compatible, I cannot get the app to work in the pull out sidebar, like most other organisations apps do. And so for me, this app isn't as useful as I had hoped, and I find myself resorting to other apps instead - not what you want from a £5 purchase! It would also be great if you could add notes to an item in a list, without it always appearing in a list.Version: 1.7.5

Won't Synch with I Cloud since IOS UpdateI used to love this app.. but since the latest IOS update on my Phone & I Pad it no longer synchs through I Cloud. Please fix this as it was my favourite app & I used it all the time. Now it is rather useless!.Version: 1.6.1

It's okThis app is good the interface is nice and the gentures are nice but it is very limited with functionally. All you do is creat tasks in a fancy and unique way. It would be better if you could add due dates and times. The only way I could see myself using this is if I go to the supermarket and want a best shopping list. If the features mentions are integrated with a future update I will definitely use this on a day to day basis but for now I have other options..Version: 1.0

Sync fails. Can't use it anymore.ICloud sync fails after trying every possible solution for weeks. Deleted both Mac and iOS app..Version: 1.7.4

A sad version of it's former selfThis app used to be amazing, and my absolute go-to. But it looks like support has been dropped as the last update was 3 years ago now. I wouldn't bother using it now until the developers decide to come back and fix the bugs!.Version: 1.7.8

Really? No Syncing?I honestly didn't think people even considered creating ToDo apps without syncing. What's the use? Beautiful UI experience, but until syncing is implemented, this app really has zero value..Version: 1.0

Good startLike everyone else, I think the simplicity and immediacy of the UI is extremely winning. What I would like to see is alarms, repeat alarms and most of all, an iPad version! I have an iPad and I am not sure that I will keep on with the iPhone simulation and that would be a shame since this is a great concept and looks as though it has got the better of all the other issues that detract from so many 'To Do' apps. It certainly has that classic disruptive, 'the app for the rest of us' feel and that was worth the asking price. I bought Due because I couldn't wait for this and that will remain my work tool until Clear gets the iPad treatment and alarms (for those that want them). Other than that, it is a splendid start!.Version: 1.0

Almost...I've been waiting for this for weeks. Now it's here and, well, I'm disappointed. It tries so hard to be simple that it fails at being practical. For example, I like to keep my checked items at the bottom of the list (shopping list items etc.) but if I swipe up on the screen too vigorously, the checked items list clears completely with no option to undo. Useless if all you want to do is quickly scroll to the bottom of a list. There are a few other counter-intuitive aspects which makes the app a little too "twitchy" to be used on the run. A few settings options to disable some features would be perfect..Version: 1.0

Less useful over timeThis app has developed really poorly over time. Reminders don’t always sound off, there is no repeat pattern for them, so you have to type the same thing over and over again. The developer is only interested in selling you themes and sounds as opposed to implementing obvious or most requested features. The widget is a joke as it cannot even focus enough to show you a true “Today” view, and sync is unreliable and horribly slow. Easy to blame iCloud but that is not the issue. Sure, the gestures on iPhone are wonderful, and the app had a lot going for it from the start, but if you are going to introduce more complexity to the app, at least make sure it is sensible and actually works. I would rather use Apple’s Reminders than this because it actually makes sense. There are smarter alternatives. Clear is great for grocery shopping and other simple things. Realmac should have focused on that. Their recent updates with reminders is a joke. They ignore their users and have a history of disappointing people by taking their money, and not giving their customers value for what they pay for. Deleted the app. Cutesy doesn’t win over functionality for productivity..Version: 1.6.1

Best app I’ve ever installedI’ve been using clear for over 10 years and it is incredible. It’s one of the first apps I ever installed. My whole life is in this app! I love how well it works for shopping lists - the way you swipe to check off items and swipe the other way to bring them back works perfect. Reordering by dragging is great too. It’s so good I was worried when it hadn’t been updated in years but I’m excited there is a fresh update coming soon. I have a meal plan for four weeks, lists of things for packing my suitcase, checklists for taking my kids to swimming lessons, recipes for my favourite foods, life goals, music, grocery lists, specific lists for going on vacation, ideas, checklist for things I need to bring to work, to do lists for my home, movie bucket list, things to talk about at doctor visits, what i bring to my annual golf getaway with the guys, top 10 lists, food orders for specific take out for my family, Christmas wish lists, stuff i declared last time I went through customs, yoga routines and more..Version: 1.7.11

No longer viableI used this app for years and loved it, could add an item on one device and it showed up on all the others. Now it will randomly delete items or lists. Just wonderful to arrive at the grocery store and find most of your list has disappeared! Turned off iCloud figuring it was syncing incorrectly with the other devices, didn’t help. No way of contacting the developer for a fix. App is now completely useless..Version: 1.7.8

Icloud sync not workingWould give 5 stars if sync repaired across devices. Currently not suncing with nac version.Version: 1.7.10

Needs improvementsGreat potential, there are lots of things to love about this app. Unfortunately there are things missing which make it unusable for me. You cannot set reminders. Some things in my to do list need times and dates to prompt me. There is no iPad version and no synced lists. I find it really handy to be able to add a reminder on whichever device I happen to be holding. A lot of the time that's my iPad. You cannot move an item from one list to another. There's no completed list. You are limited to one line of characters. This is a deal breaker. Sometimes you need to make a more detailed note to remind you of something. Why not just push longer reminders onto two lines? I thought the option to change colour scheme was nice as the red is too jarring. The green and more neutral schemes were much nicer. However, the reds are still used in the icon which is too much on the home screen. Why not change the icon to layered greens and a simple tick without the layered ticks. This is a core utility app and will feature prominently on the home page of people's phones. I think it needs simplifying and to sink into the background a bit more. Hopefully these things are addressed In future updates. If they are this could easily turn into a 5 star app. But for now I'm sticking with Apple reminders..Version: 1.0

Not compatible across devicesI feel ripped off, this should work on my iphone and ipad....it doesn't and i wasted my money, refund please...sh!tty scamming app. 0/5 a complete scam..Version: 1.7.4

Why the lost tasks? What a brilliant app, except... (see below). My Wife and I use Clear extensively and have done since it was a free app when it first launched, often promoting it with friends and colleagues alike. However why do the updates always turn off the iCloud sync? With a move to a new phone my Wife has just lost all her task, while this has also happened to me in the past. We have a simple expectation: that an app update should keep the same settings... not doing this has caused the opposite of what Clear is trying to achieve, worse in fact, as we thought the tasks were simple and safe. #mr&mrsfrustrated.Version: 1.7.4

Zero customer serviceThe fact RealMac said I had to contact Impending, about my problems I have had with the app, and gave me 3 different email addresses for them, of which I’ve written to and never received so much as one response or acknowledgment over the last few months is astounding to me. Has put me right off this app. It’s not much to ask is it?.Version: 1.7.10

Next to useless...1) doesn't sink lists between devices 2) very tight limit on number of characters per reminder 3) won't paste info from other apps! (so quickly gave up trying to import lists from my current reminder app- which, incidently isnt a recognised reminder app- but it does all of these things) It's not a matter of not wanting to use this app, it's a matter of not being able to! Can't believe no one else has picked up on these things. Looks pretty though....Version: 1.0.1
