Theory Lessons for Negative User Reviews

Easy to understandAs a music teacher I have used used this app to help explain different aspects of music theory to struggling students. The step by step visualisation on each concept, plus the use of audio has been very helpful..Version: 1.3.2

Needs practice modes from the websiteNeeds practice modes from the website.Version: 3.1.1

Not worth $1This is so lame for a $4 app. Don’t buy. I would like a refund..Version: 3.0.1

You have to be kidding meIts a list of bullet points with a couple of gifs. The positive reviews here must be a scam. Worthless..Version: 3.0.1

Decent app but could be greatGood app with lots of content mainly around chords and intervals but would be great if there was a section or two on musical notations, terms and ornaments..Version: 2.0.1

Totally useless for a beginnerI’m a beginner bass player and needed some help with reading and understanding music, hence buying this app. Let me tell you it is useless for that purpose. It is vague, confusing and downright frustrating. It’s a waste of money for someone like me but maybe better for more experienced people. Bare that in mind if considering.Version: 3.0.1

Good but missing featuresThere is a practice mode that is on the website version. It seems like the app is a lackluster version of the website. For a more expensive alternative, I would expect either the practice exercises or other practice features to be implemented. A great offline version for the lessons but not much else. The website offers the same, comprehensive lessons as well as activities/ games to help solidify and check in on your learning for free. It has the most user friendly diagrams and lessons that I’ve seen compared to other apps..Version: 3.1.1

Needs the proper termsWhat the heck is a half step, a whole note? Give us the proper terms that majority of the world uses, not the american dumbed-down terms... Or at least the option to use one or the other. Could be dead easy to implement... Just use an option that replaces particular terms..Version: 1.1

A lot left to be desiredThis app would work as referenced to those who are thoroughly trained in music theory NOTFOR LEARNING IT.Version: 3.1.1

Doesn’t have the practice sectionI bought this app expecting to get all the features that they offer on their website, like the practice section. However, after buying the app, I found out that this is just the theory section and doesn’t have any of the other tools. It’s a whole different app for that. I wish I could get a refund on this app. I’ll still buy the tool app since that’s an amazing feature they have on their website..Version: 3.0.1

So so...Good points: Very easy to visualize. I like the design. Bad ones: Too basic and there are just few audio demonstrations..Version: 1.2.1

Practice? The Music Theory website directed me to this app as one of the things for practicing, but there’s nothing for practicing notes, keys, etc. on the app - only explanations. I’m a bit disappointed in it..Version: 3.0.1

Limited contentNot much there, but has potential. No narration, limited sounds. Could be combined with their other app. Time will tell.Version: 2.4

MehWell laid out, easy to follow, and not worth the money. Why? Because of the Internet (cue gambino). I can find all this info for free. They did set everything out in a nice way. Well done app. Just make it free..Version: 2.4

Please add more audio !!Great app but please add more audio examples. For instance, I am trying to learn more about compound meters or odd meters and there are NO audio examples !! Frankly I am a little annoyed coz that’s why I bought it. Otherwise it’s a nice app..Version: 3.0.1

DullUninspiring..Version: 2.4

Bare bonesThe app has a very little amount of audible examples, especially in the meters and time signatures chapters where it's very crucial to heat the difference between complex time signatures. There are literally no exercises in the app to help you progress. The theory text is very repetitive and uses very subjective terminology with no attempts to explain it. For example, what does it mean that a seventh note in a minor scale "wants to lead"? No explanation for that, they just go forward with this..Version: 3.1.1

Not worth itVery limited in scope. Accurate and clear but certainly not worth the money..Version: 1.1

Missing a lotWhere’s is the circle of fifths?.Version: 3.0.1

Just visit the websiteThis app is a copy of their website musictheory.net Literally 1 for 1. Just visit the website.Version: 3.1.1
