Transit • Subway & Bus Times for Positive User Reviews

NiceSo yeah maybe sometimes I’ll have minor issues with the app showing slightly incorrect bus times but eh I can live with that. But the main reason I give this app 5 stars is because of the incredibly amusing update information 😂 it makes me laugh and I hope it doesn’t ever stop being so wonderfully entertaining..Version: 5.4.9

Good experienceAnd best changelog notes ever!!.Version: 5.6.4

Was good but….2 stars because the full schedules used to be free, now you have to pay monthly or yearly to get a full bus schedule…shameful.Version: 5.12.3

Pay Close AttentionThis app is essential for my travel to and from college. I've noticed however that the time it tells you to leave is way too late every time, and I end up missing the bus by a minute or two. Even leaving earlier than the recommended departure, I will miss the bus. Not only that, but it has no way of alerting you when you've taken the wrong bus. It says "Unplanned Detour" which is really inconvenient for someone new to public transport who doesn't know the stops for other buses. You'll believe you're on the right bus and there IS a detour, maybe because the stops are correct up until a certain point when really the app just can't track you because you're obviously not on the route of the bus you were supposed to take. Please find a way to fix this. I don't know if you could make some sort of route recognition that would know if you've taken an actual detour or if you're simply on the wrong bus. On top of that, it gave me an estimated arrival at my destination, changed to a half hour later. All when the bus was the WRONG bus. Why on earth would there be an estimated arrival for that, if the bus is never getting there in the first place?.Version: 5.0.4

I’d love to have just one featureThis app is wonderful in basically every way, however, I think it would be really useful if we could also just tap bus stops on the map as opposed to dragging the sort of pin to get bus info for the area.Version: 5.9.3

Great app, but fails on key premiseThis is a greatly designed app, the interface is buttery smooth and intuitive. The only problem is that, at least in Melbourne, the transport routes are just not reliable. There have been multiple times where this app just didn’t consider or warn of service disruptions, and I have ended up late to wherever I’m going whenever I use this app and I swear that it’s the last time I use it. But the interface keeps me coming back....Version: 5.7.14

Great app with love UI!!Transit is an amazing app with a beautiful user interface. I enjoy using this app and it helps me on my journeys every day. The only problem is the full schedule and departure times. Most people catch public transport and rely on bus and train services daily. It can be off putting when you have to pay to see the full schedule and departure times. Other than this, great app!! Keep up the good work!!.Version: 5.15.1

Bus timetablesVery helpful.Version: 5.2.11

Super helpful with public transitI’ve been looking for an app to help me track public transit times (specifically, NYC subway and bus times). I’ve been using mapping apps to do this for a long time but they don’t always have accurate arrival times. Transit is specifically designed around public transit and shows you local stops on subway, train, and bus lines. The best feature is the ability to have it track your bus or train in real-time so other people can see it’s actual position. Really a game-changing feature when you consider how often the official arrival times are off or just difficult to find. My only complaint is that if you get on a bus that doesn’t show up on the MTA’s app (for technical reasons) then your bus won’t shop up in the Transit app, even when you turn on real-time tracking. Hopefully they fix this issue soon. Very satisfied with these app as it really does the best job of helping you track bus, subway, and train times..Version: 5.9.12

Takes the anxiety away fro my morning commute! My commute relies on a under-serviced route and if I miss my bus, I will have to wait an hour for the next one. Needless to say that puts a a lot of pressure on me to make sure I’m on time. Having this app is so helpful because it reassures me that I have not missed the bus if it is not running on time! I would love to give it a fifth star but sometimes I find that it can give me lofty directions when I try to go somewhere I have not been before. What I mean by that is I always double check google when planning my trip and sometimes the transit app misses some well times trips google finds. Also, I live in Boston and we have this subway line that branches out into four different outbound locations; instead of separating the stops of these routes out from one another they’re combined into one list where the terminating stop on one branch is succeeded by the beginning stop of another branch. It’s just ultimately confusing especially if you’re new to the city..Version: 5.5.4

Awesome app but…Awesome app but recently I believe since the latest update when I try to get transit directions and setting a time I’d like to arrive at the destination it glitches out and says to leave immediately with massive wait or walk gaps in the middle instead of showing transit options that are suited to the journey’s requested arrival time even if the arrival time is hours or more ahead of time..Version: 5.5.3

Love it!I think this is THE best public transport app on the store and works in so many different cities across the world, it's just worth having one app to cover every city. I like how I can see the best possible routes to get somewhere. Totally invaluable.Version: 3.9.3

SuggestionGood app. Works for what it’s meant to do. A suggestion I have though, is maybe have a feature where we can look up how much is on our cards?.Version: 5.6.0

Very helpfulThis has Helped me !! Since Iv just moved to Adelaide ❤️ I will definitely be using It Always the down fall is some of the buses I have waiting on was Late But Part from that it’s a very good app😊 I would definitely recommend it to friends.Version: 5.12.8

Best app for bus ridersThis is my preferred app for catching the bus. I love that you can get real time updates on when and where the buses are. When I’m at the bus stop, people are amazed when I can tell them exactly where the bus is when it runs late. I always tell them to download Transit. My one gripe is I hate that the app switches me to the next bus time when I’m awaiting a late bus, or are looking for the bus times too close to when one is expected to arrive. It often shows me the next hours bus route, which in my city is different than the current route. This gives Transit riders bad info because it might be a few minutes before I realize I’m offering real time info regarding this hours route for the next hour’s route. To fix this, I have to quickly type in a future stop on my route and hope the app kicks in and realizes what route I am currently on. Other than this funky bit, I recommend the app. I used to be a Royale subscriber and let my subscription end without renewing due to this bug. If it were fixed, I’d gladly resubscribe..Version: 5.12.8

UXNice UX UI wow I’m enjoying this app.Version: 5.15.14

Transit appFantastic bit of kit very helpful people.Version: 5.12.7

Release Notes WriterLeaving 5 stays just for whoever writes the release notes. The app is great and very useful, but those release notes always make my day. Updating apps can be annoying at times (freeing up space) but I always get excited when this one pops up because I can’t wait to see what’s been written this time. Think my favourite so far has been the heavy metal one from a while back, I did take a screenshot of it but I wouldn’t have a hope of finding it so I can’t provide a version number..Version: 5.13.5

Wish it was in more citiesI used this app daily when I lived in Canada. Now I’m back in England and miss my transit app. Great notifications of when to leave for your bus and when you were approaching your stop I miss it!.Version: 4.3.1

Excellent AppI use this App daily, i really think it’s the best one around for using Public Transport around Sydney. It allows you to view bus routes, plan your trips and it even reminds you when you have to leave your house. it’s packed with features. Top Notch App.Version: 5.12.9

Houston areaI mainly take the metro to get to and from the University of Houston. Downloaded this app around a year ago or two, its pretty great at showing me the nearest line to where I’m trying to leave from. It’s also pretty great letting you know if you’ll have to take a second bus and showing the walking distance to actually get to your destination. It even shows you the estimated time it would take if you took an Uber or Lyft. As a student I wanna make sure to arrive to my classes on time, so it’s great being able to see my options. Honestly much better than just looking at google maps imo. I’m not giving it a full 5 starts just because sometimes the bus will arrive either earlier or later then the time it gives you but that’s understandable it’s not always going to be 100% accurate. I get that same issue even when I use the cities official metro text service, where it sends the time schedule for the bus, like I said not going to ever be 100% because there’s a lot of other factors one needs to take into account like traffic etc. overall I would recommend this app to anyone not familiar with their local metro service like if your knew to the city or just taking the metro for the first time, it comes in handy if you want to make sure you’re getting on the right bus..Version: 5.2.5

Friendly bus drivers, happy passengersFantastic bus drivers - courteous and helpful. Passengers were a happy bunch too. Real time info at bus stops would be helpful for those without a smart phone. Some bus stops needs shelter please..Version: 5.10.10

Great app nationwide, and fun release notes (seriously)Living in a big city, I have lots of transit app options but no matter how many I try, I keep coming back here. It just works and keeps just working (“just keeps working”?). Occasionally I’ll try another but only a few stay on the first page of my phone. This, as you probably guessed by the 5-stars, is one of them. Even better, it’s clear the developers really enjoy their jobs, which makes me even happier to support them. If you want proof, read their release notes. No, seriously. I know no one reads those, because they’re usually boring and uninformative “bug fixes and minor improvements” again???), but these are useful and surprisingly entertaining. The best thing about happy engineers is knowing it’s likely the app will stick around and keep getting better. Kudos all around. Except for the “All Star” ear worm from the most recent release notes, which is *still* stuck in my head. I’m just glad it wasn’t Rick Ashley. Oh no, now I have TWO ear worms!.Version: 5.12.7

UsefulI enjoy using this and seeing where the buses are in real time. I would like the option "are you already on the bus/the 110?" Sometimes I want to adjust my route while on the bus but it only shows upcoming buses rather than the one I'm already on..Version: 5.9.7

Great Transport App for Brisbane!Such an amazing app that is very accurate! Takes all the stress out of public transport that I usually feel, especially when catching buses. I also really appreciate that the free version is still very useful..Version: 5.15.1

Great transport infoI love using transit. I live in Adelaide and before transit, our real time info was hard to use but with the transit app it’s amazing. I love how you can update the bus location and see how full your bus it. The only complaint is that you can’t change the “how full is your bus” once you have done it. on the train network once you get closer to the city, the trains get packed and being able to update that would be amazing. Thanks for a amazing app.Version: 5.10.3

Sensible & usefulI tried several apps for use when walking about Sydney. Then someone recommended this one. Much easier to see how far away any transport is from where you are. I use the official NSW web page to find amd compare alternatives before I leave home, but this is much more useful when out. Often all you need to do is open it… knows where you are, shows times of arrival for all routes close to you..Version: 5.15.15

Good integration and layoutAlso really like the integration with dynamic island. I used to flock back to the app regularly to keep an eye progress (some bus stops are really close together) now I’ve got a count that’s easily visible. Excellent app which is better than most of the others I’ve used..Version: 5.13.5

Great app - needs some fixes thoughI personally find Transit a great app to use, it’s pretty light on data and the real time tracking helps a lot. I do, however, find some glitches or bugs with the actual tracking. When you’re going on a bus ride the app alerts you the stop is incoming yet there are around 3 stops left before your one comes. Also the transition from bus to walking also isn’t as smooth and at times the map isn’t clear on where you need to go. I’d also like a feature where it shows you all the different routes you can take, as some come earlier than the one the app tells you to take yet can still be taken. Apart from that, I highly enjoy using Transit..Version: 4.4.1

Gives weird directionsStanding at a station or sitting in a train car, input your destination, it will frequently tell you weird things like to get off the train catch a bus, go around the block and get on the next train. I understand that it doesn’t think you’re going to make the current train, but why tell you to get on a bus? Why not tell you to stand and wait for the next train? Hopefully riders use common sense and don’t do the weird things it suggests. Also, sure wish it integrated our on-demand bus service like it tries to do with Lyft. Instead it tells you to wait and take another bus line way out of the way and then get off and walk over the Interstate. If you’re not familiar with the area, you could actually do that when the best route is clearly to hail an on-demand bus to take you to your door. [update: still tells you to do weird things. It currently tells me to take the train to the station, get off the train and wait 8 min for a Lyft (it loves Lyft). Take Lyft 0 ft to the station. 🤷‍♂️].Version: 5.9.10

A little annoyedI can only give a 3 star rating because I’m currently annoyed with the new layout on this app. I don’t need a sophisticated app to see where I’m going and how long it will take or I will need to wait. Before the new layout I could add a saved location where I normally pick up transit (I can still do that), but before I could click on that location and see ALL of the times the bus would come to that location. I would then time my trolley ride to coincide with the time I needed to be at that stop for the bus with minimal wait time. NOW with the new SOPHISTICATED app I CANNOT do this which leaves me with my current ANNOYANCE AND FRUSTRATION. I shouldn’t have to take so much time trying to figure this out when I’m already in a rush and now I have no idea when the will come at my saved location in 2 hours when I arrive there. Thanks a lot transit app! What’s the point of saving the location when I can only see the current time the bus will get there and not ALL of the future times?? Please fix this issue..Version: 5.0.2

Good appThis is a good app, but the ‘get off now’ option was a bit behind. Luckily I knew which stop to get off at, because Transit sent me a notification when I was about 2-3 hundred meters down the road to get off. I like the layout of the app, and how I can set notifications for when to leave to get on my bus. Great app.Version: 5.2.4

Works in all of NZ’s main centres!Way better than downloading five or six local apps that you use infrequently, just get this one and keep using it when you’re travelling! I’ve personally used the app in Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. Couple things that takes it down a peg for me is that it does not show cancellation information for Metlink Wellington, I still have to check their terrible app to get that info, and the Māori pronunciation in the app is terrible..Version: 5.14.6

Great appExcellent communication platform for delays and allowing forward planning. Very easy to navigate..Version: 5.14.11

Definitely a one stop shopI’m from the DC metro area but I go to college in NYC and I use the same app in both places, it works accurately in either city. If you’re serious about shaving minutes off your commute then I don’t really know what your needs are, but as someone who just wants a 2-5 minute buffer when I’m checking when my bus comes, this app is incredibly accurate and fits my needs perfectly. Currently using it in DC and the app even shows me real-time where I am on my own bus, including upcoming stops. I was wary about this feature because I use a line that has a lot of minor stops that are really closely spaced, so I thought that by the time the stop showed up on the Transit screen my bus would have already missed it, but it was accurate down to me seeing us pass the stop as the app said we were going by it. I love this app and unless some update makes it ridiculously hard to plan travel on it or something, I plan on using it for a very long time!.Version: 5.0.2

About y’all’s busesSometimes the last bus will come early an sometimes the last bus will go another route so they don’t have to pick up anyone so they can hurry and get their route over with I’ve seen it happen a couple of times or they will put bus not in service and that’s so so not right at all there is a lot of people that get off of work 1am to 2am an after a long day of work gotta sleep outside at the bus stop because some driver’s doesn’t wanna do their job right..... y’all say metro is friendly and that is such a lie y’all have drivers that has attitude problems an if they don’t like you for whatever reason they really will pass you up they don’t know if that person is going to work to a dr appointment an they make people late because they bring their personal issues to work with them or hold the pass against people we are all adults why can’t they act like they are an adult instead of a child my 13 year old act way better than some of your drivers an has better respect and manners than some of your drivers....!!!!!!.Version: 5.10.1

Always useful, reliable, and fantastic customer service!!I have been using the Transit app for quite a few years. I live in Brooklyn, NY and have always used it to travel all over the 5 boroughs. I prefer Transit over the MTA website and other apps, as I have always found it to be the most helpful, as it always provided me with the most efficient route to where I needed to go, and it was more accurate than any other website or app when it came to bus times, subway times, etc. I also recently needed to contact their customer service to ask for help with something. Not only did they get back to me super quickly, they went above and beyond to provide me with what I needed (and then some!) without hesitation, and were very polite and professional. I also appreciate their honesty and transparency around their new upgrade and having to charge for it. I also feel that their prices are reasonable and affordable. They are also very understanding and honor their word and offers!.Version: 5.10.11

Best public transport app ever until these bugs…I’ve used transit for the past 3ish years to get to and from work. i don’t own a car so public transport is essential to me and this app has been WONDERFUL until about a week ago. when using the go feature now at around 20 minutes before the bus, the bus will just disappear?? it won’t show up when i search for it or allow me to track it, literally just disappears off the app. this proves quite annoying when planning trips and sometimes it comes back, sometimes it doesn’t. please please please fix this bug as i’ve almost missed my bus multiple times because of it and have to leave at least 10 minutes earlier to ensure i am there on time. other than that this app is amazing and i would recommend it to anyone who relies on public transport :).Version: 5.13.3

New Royale systemSo I see there is a new system for the app upcoming. I have been using the app since I was a freshman in high school and am currently a junior, this App has been pretty accurate as new schedules are established but the new system will unfortunately make it difficult for students like myself to navigate using the app, seeing limited busses and may make it almost as inconvenient as using the papers distributed on the metros for their schedules. I do understand that this may become costly for the developers over time to run the app and I am fine with ads such as little bars on the top of the screen that roll but aren’t obnoxiously in the way but enough to gather funds from users that don’t have sufficient funds (teenagers/poor adults) to receive reliable; accurate times of the busses and keep the ability to see future busses later that day or other days. But I would like to thank the developers of having an app I was able to use for a few years now and it has been great for navigation thus very useful when you are trying to get around without a vehicle in the city..Version: 5.10.1

Great app to use for travel ( concerned about this tho)Ya’lls app is pretty great! I have used it ever since I upgraded my phone 4 months ago 💯😎 Really helpful with bus trips, train trips and travel in general! 💯 This app is almost perfect 🤩👌🏾My concern is when I opened the app today and saw a notification saying ( I will have access to to nervy lines and times until September 13th) PLEASE DON’t TELL ME YA’LL ARE PULLING THE “MONEY CARD” ON US USERS FROMS YEARS AGO TO NOW!! Please don’t make the mistake of making people pay money just to see lines and times, that’s stupid, that should be free for everyone, otherwise your app would be useless to download, I beg ya’ll to think on this, your app is good the way it is, and a lot of people rely on it for travel, including me who is a college student who commutes 💯 Please don’t be “greedy” like other apps and take away the reason why people down load this app in the first place 😭💯 Tour app is great, if you haven’t done that change to this app by then and beyond I would gladly give a full five star rating 💯😎 PROMISE 💯💯 Thank you for reading 💯.Version: 5.10.0

Indispensable!Perfect app for travellers. It’s always difficult to navigate unfamiliar territory and this gives the perfect solution. Very impressed. A must have app that deserves its place on every Home Screen..Version: 5.11.2

GreatEasy to use.Version: 5.15.12

Just one more feature and I’ll give it 5 stars! This is a great app. Excellent interface, easy to use, and routes better than other apps I’ve tried. There’s just one feature I’d like added - and when it is, I’ll give Transit 5 stars. I’d like to see a notification given when an approaching bus is, say, 3 minutes away. That way, I could relax, read a book, answer emails, whatever, and be notified when my bus is approaching a bus stop where I’m waiting for a bus without worrying I’ll miss it by not hailing it in time. There’s another app that does this and I often have that app running in parallel with Transit just to have that feature. Please bring it to Transit so I can forget the other app! ;-) Please!!.Version: 5.0.7

AccurateAccurately wonderful to the T!.Version: 5.14.11

5 starsThanks to this app, I won’t seem like a tourist in my own city :’).Version: 4.4

Magnificence!I freaking love this app it’s really useful. However, the thing I love the most is when I go to update it and read the update notes and start reading them. just giggling myself. Whoever writes those needs an award. Woot woot!.Version: 5.4.16

Mr Niven MurdochGood on you time perfect onest system even late good tracking’s bus routes around Dunedin suburbs everywhere very good done..Version: 5.15.0

Fantastic upto date informationI daily use the 901 bus from Frankston to Dandenong or further. I find it easy to use and though I have an iPhone X iOS 12.2 I don’t seem to have the problems the lady said regarding crashing maybe it’s cause a lot more transit around the city and trams ect. but on my side of Melbourne it’s been fantastic. Invaluable even. No matter where I am I can find out very quickly wat bus train or tram(rarely) is going where and how long it’ll b. Keep up the good work.Version: 5.2.15

It is the little things...Like the release notes about widgets, yes we users care about these things (and read them).Version: 5.9.1

Pretty good and way more accurate than other appsGreat app, very easy to use. The tram tracking is amazing and very accurate (way more accurate than some other apps). It’s also compatible with Siri Shortcuts so you can quickly check when the next tram is coming, but it can drain your battery like crazy..Version: 5.6.5

Info at a glanceWhereas Citymapper is really bloated with features this one lets you see at a glance the next buses and tubes. So it's good if you know what bus you're getting. The routing function is also cleaner and easier to use and understand at a glance than Citymapper, which tries to include every single possibility on the screen. But this one doesn't have a lot of useful features the Citymapper has to find out transport options if you don't know where you're going like tube map, bus stops etc. Day to day I'd use this one but then I'd use Citymapper if I was lost somewhere and needed more info. They both seem to use the same routing and places database. This one doesn't have favourite places though which it really needs!.Version: 3.2.1

Best public transportation app!Dear other users, please make use of the different functions in the app! The GO function is great to get real time update, and the app is also amazing for letting me know of any news from the transport company. I really appreciate the devs who work this app so hard to keep it so fresh!.Version: 5.14.10

My GO-to transit app in Miami-Dade.I been a fan since the days of its origins when the app was a necessity to track live down the busses. And although it was lucky matter to see a bus on live tracking since very few will be using it on the Go feature, the interface was more user friendly and the app didn’t freeze as much as the official one from the county. I never reviewed an app before and much less type this much but credit is well due on this one. Thank you to the entire team behind this app because the work you guys have put into it shows very well and make it worth a payable subscription. The new ticketing feature makes the cherry at top. I struggled with digital passes thru the official county app and all because I forgot to unlock my card one time for the charge and now it seems like my card is banned from direct onboard usage or even on the app to buy passes or credits. So transit now saves my life by not only allowing one way passes purchase that can be used later on another time but also digitalizing passes and takes any card on my apple wallet. Paying the subscription really makes it better app than the official one by interface and ease to get the info needed and to the destination! Congratulations guys for your great work, it is highly appreciated and valued..Version: 5.15.12

Replaced Google MapsIt’s beautiful, it integrates so nicely into iOS, it works FAR better with my mental framing around transport (more of a portable bus station than a route planner—although it does both exceptionally well), and the developers finally added real-time timetables to the L1 light rail in Sydney, which I (until recently 🦠). The app is built with a focus on speed and efficiency, because they know it’s supposed to be whipped out and glanced at in a hurry, and it does that expertly. Only major drawback is the route planner, which sometimes has weird quirks. I’ve seen it beat Google Maps, but usually it gives a significantly slower route—and I can usually beat both apps on routes I know well..Version: 5.7.4

ThursdayHad great bus trip today..used app..bus on time And two very courteous young Indian drivers...Version: 5.4.10

No wiggle roomThe only complaint is that the app won’t show you earlier leaving times if you have a second leg of the journey. E.g bus 1 leaves every 15mins, but bus 2 every hour. The app will only show me the bus 1 closest to bus 2, with only 2 minutes room for error. Even if I make my leaving time 30mins earlier. After perpetually missing my bus 2 and having to wait an additional hour, I have learned to search the routes separately..Version: 5.2.7

Great app..but...It’s a great app when it works. A few flaws though, it thinks I’m on a bus when I’m not and asks for me to select the bus I’m on which if I hit “I’m unsure” puts me on whichever bus it thinks I’m on. Just give us an option to cancel that dialog, I currently just force close and reopen. Also please stop with the wanky skim-soy-latte hipster release notes, some of us actually want to know what’s changed. Other than that keep up the good work..Version: 5.2.16

Reliability of this appThis app is super reliable. I used it to catch the bus and the app said it would arrive at whatever was shown on the screen. It turns out it arrived at the exact same time it read on my screen. I would recommend this app to anyone who wants to download it. I give this app five stars definitely!.Version: 5.12.2

First transit + bike route finder!Love it, as a multi mode commuter using a push bike and train/ferry to get around Sydney this is the best (First? Only?) app that combines a route planner for using both. I scored it down from ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ as it seems to assume that the bike cannot take the transit trip. So the bike ride portion is limited to the first leg, getting you to a station, wharf or stop. Whilst this is true for a bus trip in Sydney for trains, ferries and trams in Sydney, bikes can be taken on the transit journey with you, so the last leg or any intermediate joining trips can also be done on the bike. This limits it’s functionality if the destination is not nearby a station as it will put you on a bus or not be able to find a suitable route. If the functionality of being able to use the bike at any point in the journey is added, then ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+ for sure!.Version: 5.12.9

Truly one of the BEST apps out thereNow as a tech savvy enthusiast, I always aim to test out dozens of apps just to know what works and what just simply doesn’t work. For a while, transit slowly but surely growing and over the past 4-5 years, as a New Yorker, I can confidently and how heartedly say that this app is truly one of the best apps out there! -Subway countdown clocks? Pffft, who needs them? TRANSIT has been RIGHT for the arrival of trains for the past 2-3 years now (mark my words, and I’m very avid on time frames). -When there’s incidents affecting your line, guarantee you won’t hear it on the news, but you’ll definitely get an alert with Transit, whether you’re in the app or not. -If you’re not sure how to find a certain subway stop, TRANSIT slays at showing you markers where you are exactly located and when to leave in order to catch that train you just aren’t quite sure is still running or not (even if it’s every 20 min on the weekends late at night) 2 things: I would LOVE to see an integration for Juno, VIA, and ARRO/ CURB apps as well, it would truly make this app even more unique and stellar. Also, there’s an amazing app called iTransNYC and I would LOVE if Transit integrated their app and notification styles with them. Before Transit, iTransNYC was my go to app. Would be really great if a great app got picked up by an even greater app. Transit is already slaying other NYC subway applications. Why look any further? :-).Version: 4.4.4

Simple, effective and accurateJust spent some time in Vancouver where this app was an absolute godsend. Simplified getting across town, never got lost and crucially never felt lost. Great stuff!.Version: 5.12.4

Amazing AppI’ve used a lot of map apps. Everything from google maps, the crappy map app my local public transport makes and even the map function on Uber. But to have an app that integrates everything - walking, public transport, Uber, Ola, is phenomenal. Highly recommend it for anyone, especially if you catches public transport, travel or are a student. (Also shout out to the devs - you guys write some hilarious update notes).Version: 5.5.7

Nickel-and-dime CapitalismThis is probably one of the best and most versatile public transit apps out there, sadly, at least in the US, most people dependent upon public transit are on the lower end of the socioeconomic scale and while the fee assessed by the app to not be worthlessly crippled should be reasonable, it’s nigh absurd that the poor are once again being nickel-and-dimed for the crime of poverty, and to use an effective resource for traversing *public* transit, especially in dense and often confusing urban environments. I already understand the counter argument: where value exists, it’s “reasonable” under capitalism for it to be extracted, and the app assuredly provides value, but I remember when it was free and it does feel against the spirit of public transit to have to pay for resource to optimize utilization. Should public transit apps for the systems themselves be better in the US? Yes. But it’s beyond hope as we privatize everything, sadly..Version: 5.12.7

AmazingI love this app makes everything easier no more stress of planning out your trip, Nanaimo BC.Version: 4.4

Creative UpdatesLove the bug fix messages. I don’t usually read update messages but with you guys it’s worth it. You’re great! Keep doing whatever you’re doing..Version: 4.4.1

Fantastic!!!A wonderful idea and a great way of utilising the power of people to keep services flowing and running efficiently. I think the concept is great and beats other Apps that seem to regularly miss the things that happen at a moment’s notice. Fantastic job!!.Version: 5.12.8

Would be great to adjust the walking speed. The app is really good, but only works when I walk slowly. Every morning I will miss a train because the app suggested I should catch the one after that. Just frustrating to see the train passing in front of me, and knowing I could arrive the office 15 mins earlier..Version: 5.15.6

Great App but Why start charging $$$Only logical explanation is some company bought out u guys thinking they can turn this app into a profit not considering A)People have using this app for free for years NO ONES GONNA PAY U. B)Most people that use public transport generally are of the lower to middle class mainly the poor so almost NO ONE IS GOING TO PAY for this app along with bus fare ($25 is a-lot of money just for a bus schedule most TAP Cards for Metro out here in LA average about $70 a month depending on where you live). And C) There’s a message in the app where y’all explain how you’re now charging a fee so that you don’t harass your users with ‘unnecessary ads’ BUT if you’d actually thought about -money aside-I’m pretty sure EVERYONE -users including myself-WOULD PREFER ADS that way y’all get your $$$ and people like me continue to use the app without being cheated. Win/Win The ‘genius’ /🤡behind this idea is not a logical thinker😅imo more a numbers type of guy.Version: 5.14.4

Love itHave used this app in my home town of Hamilton, NZ for a couple of years. Just keeps getting better. Recently visited the good ole US of A and found it worked in most of the places I visited. Awesome. Made getting around so easy..Version: 5.2.11

Love it when riding the bussesThis app is great! Not only does it help me get a better ETA when I’m going somewhere but it makes sure I get there at the time I want to be there. Personally enjoy seeing the map show where my bus currently is and the notifications to remind you when to get off is very helpful. Prefer to give 4.5 stars because I do have some feedback for improvements if the team sees my review. I just recently bought a Apple Watch and I know it has compatibility with the app but I was somewhat disappointed. I was expecting a smaller menu on the app so you may pick from a list of favorites and have the app give you the ASAP option for when you go. So when I’m on the bus or waiting instead of looking at my phone to see when my bus is arriving by the minutes or when to get off I could look at the watch and see oh it’s going to be here in 4min I should look out for it. And I should be off in 2 stops... I think just a minimalist menu be nice not just nearby line options. If it had this I would give 20stars!.Version: 5.6.8

Looks good so farHas the information I need and seems accurate. I would like to be able to filter down to a single route to remove services I will never use..Version: 5.2.8

Works weApp works very well,.Version: 5.14.2

Somethings wrong nowNot sure if this is just my area but I am no longer getting live feedback from the location of my trains or buses. I used to be able to choose a bus or train line a be able to see their most recent location but now no matter what bus or train I choose it doesn’t give me their location and that puts their times out of whack as, let’s be honest, they don’t always come on time let it be earlier or later..Version: 5.2.13

Super helpful, some additional features would be niceThis app is pretty useful, I appreciate the voice notifications telling you when to get on/off a train & it’s the most accurate I’ve found for transit departures. That being said, a few things would be helpful if improved: - Inability to see different line departure times from the GO screen. I want to be able to click on a line directly from the GO screen and see when the next train is (if I miss it) or all the stops. - Missing lines. I’m in the greater Boston area and Google maps has information on smaller shuttle routes that run infrequently but regularly that I often take. This app only has MBTA data so it doesn’t have any of that info & I find I still have to use gmaps. - More multimodal options. This one is pretty niche so I don’t expect much, but bikeshare is often much faster than buses where I am, and I wish I had more options that replaced the bus section of a bus-subway transfer with bikeshare instead of having to use 2 separate gmaps trips..Version: 5.12.4

Hamilton BusIt NZLoving this app. Everything you need is on it & makes it so much easier to plan a trip. Very smart!!.Version: 4.4.3

AmazingThis app Transit is one of the best apps I have ever downloaded. Transit helps me get everywhere around my city, it helps me get to and from school each day and it is very convenient and easy to use when you may be in a rush. I absolutely recommend this app to anyone as it has been very useful to me for over a year. Thank you for everything you’ve done Transit!!.Version: 5.10.0

This app is good but with some slight tracking flawsThe app is really good and send accurate locations but the tracking flaws are a bit off like it tells you the bus has already went pass or you missed it but it still hasn’t came yet.Version: 5.15.0

Fantastic app!Great app - guide to all of montreal's (and other cities!) transportation systems! You can plan your route easily from your phone without having to go to a metro station/ look for the route maps online! I'd been looking for an app like this for ages - finally have found it!.Version: 1.1

Widget still not working on iPhone XS MaxDespite the recent update (I’ve just updated - 11th June 2019), the widget is still not working and has not been working for a few months. This is a pity. I use the widget a lot in London. I see other comments here having the same issue. Is this fixable? Surely the developers can sort this soon? Will update my review with 5 stars if so. *App updated again today (20 June 2019). Widget issue still not rectified. Unfortunate. Dropped a star as a consequence. ** App updated again just (27 June 2019). Widget worked for 3 seconds then unable to load. And thus it remains. Such a pity. Therefore still one star until developers fix issue. *** App updated again today (13 July 2019) Widget still not working. Please fix. Appears for a split second when pressed, then disappears and says ‘Unable to Load’. Still one star. ****Wow, you guys. Updated to new update (24 July 2019) and widget problem still not rectified. Hmmm. Very disappointing. Worked for three seconds then says ‘Unable to Load’ as in previous iterations. And no word from the developers re this issue. Jeez. Would give zero stars this time but doesn’t allow less than one. So will write instead: ZERO STARS Will up the stars when rectified. Cheers. ***** Hurray! Widget now working. Great stuff. Will up my rating now things back to normal. Thank you dev team..Version: 5.6.3

Excellent app for daily bus ridesThe apps works really well in Brisbane especially for bus connections. One suggestion, could there be a function for skipping interchange? let’s say my bus arrive the 1st interchange there is one bus connection that goes to the destination. If I skip to the 2nd interchange there are two bus connections goes to the same destination. Isn’t this way increases the rate of getting to the destination on time? A user-choice redundancies should any of the bus lines were late?.Version: 5.8.1

Best Navigation app for Public Transport ever. At least for Sydney. It shows realtime bus and train location and times. Still free and no ads. I wonder if it will stay like this or get greedy like others. Oh! And app update notes, they are the best. I wish there’s update as often as just to see these notes..Version: 5.2.16

I appreciate great developers 😊As a 10 year iOS developer myself, I really appreciate good user interfaces and experiences while using an app. Transit app has not only been super helpful in getting me where I need to go in a timely fashion, but it’s a fun social way to travel with features like the “leaderboard”. To be able to see how many other riders and commuters you’ve helped along the way is pretty awesome. Keep up the great work. I’d like to see better features regarding how accurate the app is “real time” bus updates as sometimes I’m not even aboard a bus and the app may tell me “it looks like you missed the bus” when in fact the bus is simply late, so there should be some options to not start a trip until a rider either hit “start trip” perhaps making this an option as with my commute I take 4 different buses, so while the app will show me the exact route sometimes it’s off in regards to whether or not I am actually aboard a bus. Overall wonderful app and I look forward to its improvements!.Version: 5.12.9

Unintuitive RedesignI like the crowd-sourcing feature and being able to watch the bus approaching in real time, but the redesign makes for a super frustrating app. It takes too many taps and swipes to navigate that aren’t all obvious. For instance, checking the complete schedule of a Line while currently in a GO session. It’s not very obvious that you have to swipe down the GO session to get to the schedule list of nearby lines. And I liked how previously, on the same line, you could see the ETA of the next bus as well as what time that would be. Now you HAVE TO look at the full schedule to then get only the bus arrival times and not ETA. It’s a broken experience and quite annoying at that. My other issue with the new full schedule list is that the earlier bus times were removed. I actually found it useful to see which arrivals have already passed. At least seeing one or two past arrivals would be helpful. Please incorporate these features back into the app so I could give the star rating this app really deserves. I use it every day and hate to have less than an awesome experience..Version: 5.0.3

Amazing !!!!!!!!!I was using TripView for sydney transportation and, and thinking about some missing features , and how they can improve it, same day I Accidentally found TRANSIT , it has everything I was expecting . Amazing , very creative developers . Thank you for the amazing product . Andrew.Version: 4.4.4

Great AppThis app has helped me so much this summer to navigate the city. I think it’s clever that it uses other riders to help locate the buses in real time. The issues I have riding the buses are mainly with the Nashville bus system than with this app. One thing I wish were better is if the app gave extra warning or let you know the bus stop is on the opposite side of the road. I’ve found myself with not enough time to cross the street, watching the bus I wanted zoom by. I also have issues planning a route on occasion. I have to refresh multiple times to see all possible routes because the app only shows 3 at a time. It’s also not always possible to see when the next buses are coming once you’re at the navigation page, in case I like the route, but want to take the next pass. It is also not possible to edit a route once you start, which would be great if I wanted to get off at a different stop. Lastly, it takes way too long for the app to figure out the bus I’m waiting for is never going to show up. It just keeps updating the arrival time for the bus, making me believe the bus will be there, while I should be looking for a different way home. Other than that, it’s a great app, works better than google maps, and has saved me multiple times!.Version: 5.4.2

Really good but missing a few thingsGreat app, great UI, thoughtful experience, beautiful maps. Improvements needed: sometimes gets express line timetables wrong, expecting a train to stop at a station when it may not. Also needs to add train platform numbers. The voice over of the guy sounds weird. Can you use the system configured Siri voice? Or can you define some chime sound to indicate the upcoming stop, not a clumsy voice over? If a train hasn’t actually left yet, or is running late, it doesn’t correct present it as a viable option. Apple maps does a better job of this..Version: 5.6.0

Not bad but could be better in some waysUsually this app is accurate but lately I’ve been noticing some inaccuracy. Sometimes it tells me that a bus is coming in 1 minute but I end up waiting for 10 minutes. Sometimes it says 0 minutes but then the wrong bus comes. I like this app for the most part but I also have a few feature suggestions. I really wish this app had an easy option that guides me to the bus stop or train station that I’m looking for. I’m not very good with directions, and I often have some trouble finding bus stops and train stations that I’m looking for. Sometimes I find myself walking in circles just to find the bus stop or train station that I need. I wish there was an app that uses GPS that can guide me to easily find specific bus stops and train stations in the direction that I want to go. I really want to travel more and I’d feel more confident about it if I can minimize the chances of getting lost..Version: 5.9.14

By far the BEST transport app in AGES!When I installed Transit app (because I was planning on going to a concert in the city involving public transport) my hopes weren’t too high as most public transport apps don’t really provide what should be provided, but this one certainty does. The app is incredibly fun to use (And even then, what Transport app should be fun!?) and it’s very easy to use as well. I am completely confident that this will be a great app for me tonight when I use the Public Transport systems in Perth, WA..Version: 5.13.5

Great app if you travel via public transportIt’s such a great app. I am in perth and i love transit app . It gives me all the possible journey options. So easy to use and very handy, Anytime anywhere. It gives me all the timetables and options to add time of departure or arrival that helps plan the journey more accurately. Totally recommend 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.Version: 5.10.1

Most frequently used travel appJust great to know when all the transport around you is departing. Constantly find myself using the widget. Completely different to the excellent CityMapper which is a good thing as I can keep them both!.Version: 3.5.1

Looks great, serious potentialUpdated 15 Aug '13: A whole lot of British rail agencies were recently added (10 Aug) to the feed that Transit App uses, including London Underground. Hopefully not long before the UK appears in app. Its not right to rate down just because UK not included yet, 5⭐ for potential..Version: 2.0.5

Best App and Best Transit AppI have used this app for years, in multiple cities and it always gets me where I need to go. Started using it when my kids were going to be using public transit to get to middle school (the oldest will graduate high school this year). I would ride with them then use public transit to get to work. Transit let us know when we HAD to leave house and if I could squeeze more out of the snooze button. We have visited several different cities on vacation over the years and always check Transit to navigate for sightseeing so I don’t have to drive in an unfamiliar area. Their coverage is great and it is rare that we haven’t used the app (so far only towns that don’t actually have public transit). But the BEST thing about the app is the updates and the update notes. I would keep the app just to be able to read the witty update notes even if we didn’t use public transit. Truly a five star app backed by passionate dev team and organization. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!.Version: 5.15.1

The update notes = comedy goldWho ever you are, you’re a genius.. I hope that 4 walk was worth it. To whomever took that advice, if you fell in love with your soul mate, congrats. PS. Don’t stop writing these comical notes, makes my day a little bit less boring while I wait for my apps to update!.Version: 5.5.5

The app is smart. Then it’s stupid. Then it’s smart…Great app. When it shows what you’re looking for. There are times, like every day, when the route it shows, is going in the opposite direction that I’m going in. So I move the purple pointer around on both sides of the street. It still doesn’t show the route for the direction I’m going. I keep moving it around, further away from the street I’m by. Eventually it shows what I’m looking for. Other times, it shows the current route, but not the exact location (which I don’t normally need). This is fine, but why sometimes and not other times? Is it the bus operator’s fault? The transit agency? And then if you do want to report a problem, they want all of the details. Ok, but the same problems keep occurring. Do the people who designed the apps (all of them) ever actually use them? I am firmly convinced that the people who design the systems used by regular people, never use the systems themselves, nor do they consult the end users..Version: 5.13.1

Edit: pretty cool app actuallyEditing my previous response thanks to the kind developer words. As an app different from the local bus agency, it is actually pretty cool :).Version: 5.14.9

Thank you! This app has been a constant companion for me whenever I go out! As someone who’s anxious about getting lost and not knowing how to get home, being able to look up where I am and what transport is available is unspeakably wonderful. The app works great for planning ahead as well, and seeing just how many options there are around me! Thank you so much to the developers for bringing me peace of mind! Hope everyone is doing well and taking care admist the pandemic!.Version: 5.7.9

Indispensable Tourist Aid to Las VegasWe’ve been here for 8 days, living 20-minutes out of The Strip, travelling in every day. The three-day bus pass is excellent value for money - cheaper than Ubers- and this brilliant App tells me where and when the bus is arriving. It even gives you alerts on your phone when you stop is coming up. Excellent..Version: 5.0.5

Stunning and useful!Transit is a beautiful app that uses Apple Maps for streets and uses Google for address search. This is the best of both worlds: Apple Maps is visually pleasant, smooth and rich. Google Search is comprehensive, trustworthy and vast. The UI is also great with nearby stops/stations, transit overlays and live data. The GO feature is also the best in-transit experience, with live tracking reporting, stops remaining and notification-reminders to get off. I used to think that Apple Maps or Google Maps could do the job for both driving and transit. After using the Transit app, I’ve learned that a dedicated public transport app is worthwhile!!.Version: 5.5.3

Train + bus times + directionsGreat app where you can check bus and train times and get the fastest journey to your destination.Version: 5.6.3

Idea for a featureThis is an amazing app, and I use it every time I’m using the bus in my own town, and it’s my first choice abroad. I wanted to put forward an idea, to be able to share trips with others. Whether being after you’ve pressed “Go” on a destination, or a trip for a later date. Would be very useful, to let people know where you’re going, or how to get somewhere from somewhere else..Version: 5.15.12

Excellent and has Adelaide dataExcellent transit app, the fact they have more Australian cities than Citymapper is the main reason for using it initially, but it’s just so simple and easy. The fact it has Adelaide data is brilliant which Citymapper doesn’t. I use it every day..Version: 5.4.2

Great appEasy to use and very helpful for getting around.Version: 5.12.3

Love the appSuper great app and much better alternative than texting the bus. However, the best part is the updates. You MUST read what they write in the update description..Version: 5.6.5

Very reliableIts display the accurate bus time, I’m impressed.Version: 5.15.14

Amazing app, I literally use it everydayThis app has been through my ups and downs; from moments to when I needed to view if it was worth running to catch the bus when i’m running late to moments where i have enough time sit down and plan a trip and see what transfer bus im going to take. Transit is the best thing ever invented and it’s very user friendly. I decided to pay for their annual membership because I wanted to help support a free app in which i use constantly and doesn’t fail me. I love the feature where we can see the buses real time movements if another Transit user presses ‘Go’. I also like how I can see what time i’m going to get to my destination while i’m riding the bus. My county also has two types of bus companies (one for the county and one for the metropolitan area) and this app has both companies all in one app. If i didn’t have Transit I would’ve had to use tow different websites which can sometimes not work properly. Thank you Transit team and thank you for the funny commentary under the “What’s new?” section on the app store.Version: 5.10.7

AwesomeGreat easy user friendly app.Version: 5.15.13

Great app but missing travel cost infoTransit is one of the most beautiful and functional applications, only thing stopping it to become the absolute best is the missing travel costs feature. With travel cost at a glance users can plan their journey accordingly, hope they add the feature soon..Version: 5.12.5

Was not working in central Amsterdam but is now.App very useful in all parts of the Netherlands. Clear graphics win every time. Thanks for fixing the issue!.Version: 5.14.11

Nearly the best public transport appTransit is a great app but the largest downside of the app is that we just need some more users if we are ever going to be able to properly experience the crowdsourcing feature, as in Melbourne, I don't think that I have ever been waiting for a bus which has been crowdsourced, which I feel kind of defeats the purpose of the whole app. However, that is not going to stop me from giving ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 stars) as the rest of the app is really convenient. Some of my favourite features are: How easy it is to view next departures; “GO”, the notifications from it are really useful and the way that it counts down the stops until it is time to get off is also very helpful to help prevent stop-missing!; The fact that even without reported bus locations, the app can work out (about) where the bus is, based on real-time data. Overall, I give about 9/10, and a green heart. 💚.Version: 5.6.0

Public Transport is agonising no moreWell ok, maybe that’s an exaggeration. However, using the Transit app certainly makes travelling on Public Transport a much smoother and less tiresome experience. I’m in Melbourne Australia and am happy to report that the app works great here. Occasionally expected buses go missing but I blame the Twilight Zone, not the app..Version: 5.2.8

My transport friendThis is my go to app for figuring out how to get from A to B. And what I like about this is that it’s crowdsourcing what’s already available to help us help each other..Version: 5.5.0

ReviewIt’s a really good app easy to use instead of running around looking for buses open your app and walla.Version: 5.15.0

Saves my ***I work early morning hours in NYC. Before covid, I could walk outside my place, stick my arm out, and 10 taxis would appear out of nowhere. Since covid the yellow taxi situation, especially in the early early am is abysmal. Not a cab in sight. So… I take the subway. This app is able to tell me with accuracy, when the train is coming- it’s able to show me moving trains on its map section-it will give me specific and accurate directions to an address- and it tells me when there’s a change in service. Now I sit in my apartment and pick the train I’m going to take by looking at the app. I know how long it takes to walk to the station, so I time it perfectly. No more guess work. This works for buses as well. Even has citi bike. I loved this free app so much, I donated the full yearly subscription price. Turns out it’s even better with the subscription. If you’re a user of public transportation, this app rocks..Version: 5.11.5

Amazing appExcellent real-time results, handily beats Apple/Google and the transport agency app. Lightweight, integrated feel, map drag and near-me is a brilliant piece of UX and a noticeable advantage over Citymapper — swipe stacks are intuitive, feels responsive w/ haptic feedback. Notifications for upcoming stop arrive at the perfect time to press the button :D Seems to drain battery faster than native, unfortunately means I cannot use the GO function for daily commute..Version: 5.13.5

Incredible!! But...I wish it lets me save trips and routes I planned at certain times. Some timetables dont ever change. I also want to be able to favourite my trip to work or home; quickly accessible from the home page. It’s annoying having to re-run the search each time. Other than that everything else is great!.Version: 5.2.3

Since I can’t find your email...This is my go-to Transit app. However, in a recent update, the app started automatically changing to the next route time if it appears that I’m going to miss a bus - and it doesn’t allow me to return to the prior route schedule. One of the stops I use most often has the wrong lat/lon values. As a result, the app thinks I should be a block away from where the stop actually is. At the time the bus is supposed to be there, the app switches to the next route time, thinking I’m going to miss the bus. Then, I can’t see my transfer point any longer, till the app figures out that I’m on the right bus after all. This is very frustrating!!! The app should ASK me if I want to switch to the next route time or stay on the current route time!!! (Since this app is supposedly crowd-sourced, optimally it should notice that I’m catching the bus a block away, or let me note the correct location - but, no, it doesn’t offer that option!) So PLEASE put back the ability to KEEP the original route result even if it appears I’ve missed the bus!!!.Version: 5.1.2

Overall works wellUpdate (11/23): they fixed the bug where the app can’t detect when you’re already on the bus in Go mode, so I’m a happy camper now (upgraded to 5 stars). Original review (10/23) My only gripe is the Transit app doesn’t give you the ability to use the “Go” feature if you’re nearby the stop and the bus will arrive in 5 mins, or worse, you’re actually on the bus; instead it shows you the next departure 15 min in the future. That makes the app virtually useless if you’re already on your desired bus as there’s seemingly no way for the app to recognize you’re on it (you think it’d be obvious to the app if you’re eg traveling on the subway underground and your iPhones location is moving along with the current train, but the app still feels the need to give you walking directions to the stop you just left… How exactly would that work, with people walking in the dark tunnels? 🤣)..Version: 5.15.6

The most reliable & useful public transport appThis app is by far the best I’ve used - most of the time it’s more reliable than PTV itself. I use this app every day and it’s fantastic. Only 4 stars, though, because sometimes it can be buggy and suggest for me to leave at 4am to get to university by 11... but other than these occasional glitches, it’s amazing..Version: 5.5.6

So goodThis app gets you from A to B so easily. I don’t think I’d be could be bothered tackling the public transport system without it.Version: 5.5.5

A great helpConsistent info gets your bus in time 😀.Version: 5.11.5

Lucky kevCan’t fault this App.... it is spot on.Version: 5.9.1
