✓ Very nice MetronomeThis is a terrific metronome app. I have several others, including a paid app. This one is much better for learning. I love the ability to set the app up to stop the metronome after XX minutes. This lets me focus on what I'm doing, and not worry about setting a separate timer. The ability to drop beats to see if you are staying on rhythm is nice too. Some things I'd like to see added: The app needs to rotate with the IPhone. I can't read the screen when I have the phone plugged in to power or an amp. It would also be nice to be able to set the coundown timer from the main metronome screen. I do that quite a bit, and it takes 3 screens to do it..Version: 1.31.4

✓ Nice app but..........I purchased this app because A) I needed a metronome B) I am a user of Justin's courses and other apps. C) Majority of reviews are 5 star. However whilst this app has lots going for it the sounds are poor. I wonder if this is a problem with IOS10???? The sounds have a very sharp attack and I find that if I use the app with headphones I can only use it for a short time before I start getting a headache. Perhaps I should use some cheap headphones that do not respond to the sharp attacks on the clicks. 😄.Version: 2.15

I haven't seen this "random missing tone" feature on any other metronome app, and it is turning out to be very useful in my own beginner guitar playing (I imagine it would help more advanced guitarists as well). Easy to use, nice layout, and the light flashes with the beat. The gradual speed increase feature is also really excellent. Only critisizm: I can't for the life of me figure out what the "TAP" button does. I couldn't find mention of it in any of the documentation. Idea for improvement: How bout a simple ledger or calendar so we can keep track of our abilities over time. ✓ Drummer’s ReviewFor me, this metronome app is almost there - it’s very close. Back in the day, I had an Alesis HR16 which I programmed in steps so I could have a click starting slow and moving up in increments to a target speed. Then it slowed down back to the start speed. I used to have to work out the steps manually and it was a hassle, but great until the HR16 died. The step-up function in this metronome almost brings my HR16 experience back again, but there’s one problem; if I choose to create steps of ascending BPMs they can only be done in minutes. For a gradual speed-up it would be great to be able increase in 5BPM increments and at 15 second time intervals. In fact, if the whole timer system on the app had a seconds option then that would be great across the board. The next thing which could do with improvement is the saving/editing a song process. It’s not very intuitive and if something is altered in a song a * symbol appears, but there’s nothing to prompt the user to save or discard the changes or save ‘as new’. The final thing would be the ability to back up the settings to cloud or even locally on the device so if could be uploaded to cloud storage independently of the app. Other than the above points, I really recommend this from a drummer’s POV. Well done Justin for creating this, I would have paid £3.99 for it so don’t be afraid to tweak it and make modest price increases when appropriate..Version: 2.21

Currently the speed increases after each bar. (You often find yourself halfway through a riff and the tempo increases - off putting when your learning new material) - Resize the app to cater for the iPhone 5's larger screen. ✓ Straightforward, solid metronomeI am a beginner guitarist and needed a solid, no-frills metronome. This one is very easy to use and very reasonably priced. It has enough options for my needs. In his online guitar courses JustinGuitar strongly emphasises the need to practice with a metronome. I thought I had a good sense of rhythm and without that advice might have felt that a metronome was optional. Boy was I wrong! The metronome exposed just how unreliable I was. Programmes such as GarageBand have an inbuilt metronome but I find a standalone one much more useful. Thank you!!!Been using the Speed Upper almost exclusively for as long as I've been using this handy app. Very, very helpful for learning to speed up passages gradually. Thank you so much for designing such a useful practice tool!!! One suggestion for future versions: When picking BPMs for the Speed Upper, I have to scroll through a list of numbers and this is a bit of a hassle as I change these often in my practice (eg. 90-120 for a minute, then 110-150 for 3 minutes, then 130-180 etc to move my speed up). Is it possible to make a keypad so I can directly type in my desired BPMs instead of seeking it through a long scroll? Also would be a lovely bonus (but not super important) if I can stay in the Speed Upper function full time: Right now the app main page is the metronome. From the main page there is an option for Trainers, from there I have to select the Speed Upper and pick my BPMs, then exit into the Trainers list, and then exit out to the metronome main page in order to use the BPM training. Since I use the Speed Upper exclusively, including as a generic metronome (eg. 270-271 over 5min because the metronome only goes up to 260 BPM), I would prefer if I can just use an interface where I pick my start and end BPMs and time and just hit Go, without having to go back to the metronome main page.
