WikiCamps Australia for Positive User Reviews

Fab!Great tool!.Version: 3.0.19

Brilliant!I’m planning a trip around Tasmania, and the app has been a dream to use. My one request would be for the option to delete a site from further results if you know you definitely don’t want to stay there..Version: 3.0.6

Best app ever downloadedThis app was excellent during our travels in Australia. Worth every bit of £3.99. Cheaper and better that Camps 8 as its live and updated by other travellers..Version: 2.3.4

Killer AppUsed it on my trip from Perth up the west coast to Darwin then down to Adelaide. Saved me heaps on caravan parks and many of the spots were probably better than most caravan parks. Only thing I suggest is reading the comments others have left. Great way to tell what you're in for..Version: 1.8.14

The best of the Australian camping appsA great user community and a well designed app. Very much worth the money!.Version: 3.0.19

GreatappReally useful that it picks up your location when you are offline..Version: 1.8.12

Great App, but need to make writing reviews easierGreat app, but need to make it easier to write reviews. For example, reviews can only be short, or you need to make multiple entries which is a pain, as you write your review, the writing disappears as it goes down the box, and each photo has to be uploaded separately. Without reviews, the app is nothing, so make it easier! Just look at posting a review on Google Maps, it’s simple, you can write as much as you want, and you can upload multiple photos at the same time..Version: 3.0.30

Essential for travel in AustraliaWorks great, one time fee, super useful.Version: 4.2.3

Great appFirst time in Australia (from UK) driving an RV from Brissy to Cairns. This app was recommended to us and we couldn’t have done the trip without it. Great advice on camping spots, handy to find free ones along the way so we could spread the cost, but also useful when looking for a camp site with bigger facilities for the kids such as pools. Now using to plan WA trip 😊.Version: 3.0.19

Great app when used correctlyOnce you navigate the app, it’s extremely easy to use. I find most of the information pretty accurate. It does rely heavily on user input, and lets face it, people are not always completely efficient. The general usage of the app provides the results you expect. I use it nearly every single day to plan our trip. I have also asked support from the developers and they usually reply within 24 hours. Very satisfied with their response and encouraged by their feedback. The more accuracy you provide, the better the app will be. Miles ahead of most other camping apps..Version: 3.0.19

Best App Ever for on the RosdThis is our favourite app when off a road trip. You load up your requirements which for us is number 1 - dog friendly plus anything else you need eg dump points etc We have discovered awesome fishing camps not listed anywhere else. The other thing that’s really helpful is the reviews, it has saved us staying at parks with dirty amenities etc. We have left great reviews and pics of ones we found on the app. Best money ever spent, I recommend it constantly to our traveling friends.Version: 3.0.29

Great resource! We usually travel for 3 months every winter & find a lot of our stops on WikiCamps, it’s a great tool for finding rest areas, dump points, potable water, free & low cost camps & caravan parks. You need to be able to filter through the comments, use them as a guide only as I’m sure some people just love to find things to complain about, if every comment is negative perhaps avoid it, if there’s a good mix of positive & negative then check it out. It’s a valuable resource to any traveller..Version: 3.4.13

I couldn’t do without my WikiCampsThe best part about using WikiCamps is being able to choose the right place to stay that suits us based on the type of facilities, recent positive reviews (we generally ignore the negative ones), the photos and the fees. It makes travelling so much easier. When fellow travellers tell us about great places they have stayed I immediately search for it on WikiCamps and if it gels I Add to Favourites or Add to Trip Planner depending how close we are to it. We’ve appreciated all the filters to find things like dump points and water (although you do have to be sure water is a tap to fill up not just a toilet block). And it’s a great record of our trip round Oz including mileage $$, kms travelled, and places we’ve stayed. The FB support page is great to share stories or ask questions of the community - and WikiCamp staff are helpful and proactive with their responses. We certainly couldn’t do without WikiCamps..Version: 4.7.17

Happy WikiCampersWe have used WikiCamps for 7 years as we have travelled all over Australia. We use it for researching, trip planning, reviews of free camps, van parks, national parks etc. It’s helped numerous times with navigation as well as using photos to get an idea of places ahead. We have our trips recorded on the trip planner for looking back on later. We also use the satellite finder for setting up our sat tv. It’s better than the bought device we started with. Couldn’t be happier with this app and have recommended it to to many friends and other travellers along the way..Version: 3.0.29

The best appBeen using this app for nearly a year now ... we camp, hunt, abseil, my bike, this app makes it easy to explore any area you want to go into. It’s fantastic and we love it and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the outdoors. My only advice is to take some of the location star ratings with a grain of salt. We have been to some 5 start rated places which we found to be very ordinary and some 2 star places which we found to be some of the best we have seen and we have traveled extensively. Just remember location star rating are an individual preference. But this app is truely excellent I don’t think there is better on the market for the price..Version: 3.0.19

Perfect for your Aussie road trip!!We downloaded this app halfway through our road trip and we can't praise it enough. Travelling in a diy camper van, we saved so much money by staying in free camps that we were able to splash out on the fun things. If you are free camping and using this app please be considerate of other campers and clean up after yourself..Version: 2.3.6

Life saver!A must have for any backpacker, especially those on a low budget and no planned route..Version: 3.0.15

Trip planner invaluableWe are on our big trip, and the trip planner has been awesome, I am planning about a fortnight ahead, I read reviews and make a selection on those recommendations, add it to the trip planner, then add a note with what facilities are available at site, if potable water etc. I find it has been great to add to those notes about when we need to ensure we fill up our water. We are mixing our stopovers between Caravan Parks and free camps, so that ability to plan ahead has been invaluable..Version: 4.7.17

AwesomeThis App is extremely helpful, now that we have worked out how to use it. We are very new to Caravaning, having just purchased our first van. We have had three short trips away (last one was cut short due to the Cyclonic weather hitting the East Coast of Australia). However we are currently planning a trip down though Victoria, South Australia & back along the Murray & we have used WikiCamps to plan our stop overs. Find the Comment section very helpful, but a lot of places have no comments added as yet. I do plan to make comments on all our stays. And hope to see more people using this tool..Version: 3.0.19

Best travel tool I’ve usedHave used wiki to work out our travel plans, where to go, stay and what to do. Plus the offline maps track and show you moving along the roads so I was able to use wiki in tandem with the Vic Roads to avoid all the road closures due to flooding (could not work off of the Vic Roads site alone as I had no phone reception while travelling). That was invaluable at that particular point. The reviews have helped us decide what caravan site to stay at and where to stay on the free camping sections. Honestly one of the best travel tools ever in my opinion..Version: 4.7.17

Helpful and accessibleI really value Wiki Camps as a easily accessible means to find camp sites and van parks while on the move. The information is generally accurate although is always coloured by people’s opinions and experience. For example what one person may describe as a rough and difficult road another might see as a reasonable gravel road. The ability to see where you are in relation to the actual place you are looking for is invaluable for bush camps where there are a number in close proximity. The reviews are useful if taken on balance, ie don’t just rely on one review but get the majority view by reading several..Version: 3.0.30

Does exactly what it saysShows not only Wiki camps but a wide range of “ Points of interest “, camp sites, dump points too. Thanks Wiki Camps..Version: 4.8.8

Wish I bought this before the camps 7 bookSpent $50 on a camps book. Camping was stressful Spent $5 on this app and it's been wonderful ever since..Version: 1.8.14

Can’t fault this App.We’ve just spent 10 weeks on the road (mostly outback) with Wikicamps our lifeline! It has everything you need and one of its best features is you don’t need internet to use it. Just download the maps before you head off! While my husband drove I was in charge of tracking our position and finding exactly where the next camp sit was. We referred to everyone else’s reviews all the time. It gives you a good understanding of whether a site will suit you or not. You can even report a site that is incorrect and it gets updated immediately. Well done to the developers..Version: 3.5.17

Great appFound this app more useful than camp 7.Version: 1.8.0

First time using. It’s a super great resource especially the offline map. At times the info isn’t everything you need but it def helps as a guideline. It wouldn’t be an adventure if everything was laid out for you..Version: 3.0.29

Really helpful AppJust great. First time campers in Australia and it provided soo much information. Not just about campsites but points of interest, where to find water/toilets. As we were doing much of our travels in the outback it was brilliant that you could download the maps to use offline when we had no signal. A bargain!!.Version: 4.6.14

WikiCamps Must Have App for Aus TravellersHaving been introduced to WikiCamps some five years ago we have utilised it ever since especially in the last three and a half years while travelling around Australia. The choice of many and different van and camp sites has been more than helpful in our travels with oversight of fees, amenities, location, distance and must see locations within the area and on route. And what’s more it links to your preferred Maps App to make life easier still. If you wish you can track you travels on the App, love it!.Version: 3.0.19

Used this app widely over a 3 week tourThis app is brilliant and the mapping and distance bits really useful int the decision making process. The comments and pricing info is useful and is to be believed at your own discretion..Version: 1.5.2

Would highly recommendWe travel and find sites with this app Much like camps 8 book. But with pics and reviews.Version: 3.0.19

Essential appThis app is essential for anyone planning a trip around Oz. The information is great and clearly presented, the map function even works offline unlike maps or google maps. We found some excellent camp sites and missed the stinkers, highly recommended..Version: 1.6.3

Comprehensive and available offlineFinally an app the allows you to cache content. All site information and comments can be downloaded before you leave home. Also allows for mapping to be stored for offline use. ( although town names need to be added to make it easier to read) Plenty of users, information and pricing is typically accurate. We used this everyday of our 16,000km trip..Version: 1.8.5

Most useful app for travelling Australia by far!Awesome app! Has been excellent!! Been in road for 3 weeks so far and we have only had to pay for one nights camping thanks to wikicamps! Stayed in some amazing places we would never have found if it wasn't for this app! If your travelling Australia by caravan, bus, foot, get it! :) the more people that use it and keep updating info the better it will get!.Version: 1.7.3

Great affordable camping guide to Australia! What a great affordable camping guide to Australia! Camps Australia Wide has an app that I wanted to get but couldn't afford. This app has been perfect and cost was a fraction of the price..Version: 1.5.2

Fantastic app!Just found this amazing app. Looks like it's just for campers, but has loads of tourist sites on a map which you download. Really pleased I found it before travelling as am now adding lots of locations to my favourites. It has comments from tourists about places to visit, photos and camper site prices. As you can download before you go, you don't need wifi when at the location. Photos a bit blurry when offline, but otherwise everything seems to work. Amazing value for money-get it before you travel!.Version: 2.3.6

Great appVery complete. Well worth the investment. The user ratings and photos are imo what makes the app so great.Version: 2.3.5

Fantastic for Australian campsitesWe have used WikiCamps for two laps of Australia as well as a couple of shorter trips straight across. I use the app when planning a new trip, I start weeks before the and then we use it to guide us as we go, saves carrying maps and books etc. I like the reviews and this always makes a difference to our choice of where to stay. I also like the fact that you can save your trips, so you can look back and reminisce about your previous trips. Well worth it!.Version: 3.0.30

A Useful tool in this Digital Doomsday DecadeYou know what it is and what it does by the description. Very useful App, just download it and begone with you ! It will stop you whinging like a Pom every time you can’t find a local dunny..Version: 4.7.17

Top App and Outstanding ServiceWe have been using WikiCamps for 5 years and are very happy with it. Not surprisingly our main use is finding camping sites and the filter feature makes that very easy to locate what we are looking for and it is good to read other user’s reviews. We like to free camp when we can but we accept that is not always possible and WikiCamps lets us see the full gamut if available options. We also use Trip Planner and find it a great planning tool. I also like the ability to label sites as favourites. I do not find the crow’s flies distances an issue. After a recent phone update WikiCamps would not update. I contacted WikiCamps and had a total of 3 very quick replies to try to address the situation. Even though it may have been a phone fault they were able to resolve the situation. Amazing service. Thanks WikiCamps..Version: 3.0.15

BrilliantSo helpful with finding free or paid camps and points of interest. Great app that links to google navigator to help you find them too. 5/5!.Version: 2.3.6

Most Reliable/Useful!We used this app for every stay on our 4750km journey through Oz, it never was wrong or got us lost, it was reliable and made our trip much easier than if we had not had it. I would recommend this app to anyone looking to camp anywhere in oz. It's easy to navigate and find what you need, write reviews and update. Rated 5 * by myself and my wife! Thanks Wiki Camps!!!!! Love it!!!.Version: 1.8.1

The bestThe best app for campsites in Aus. Fantastic tool. Use it constantly..Version: 3.0.29

Excellent AppWe have planned our whole Australia trip from uk on wiki camps.Version: 3.0.19

Super useful for an Ozzie RoadtripHighly recommended. We plan all our trips using it. Not the definitive resource, but definitely one that you want, and well laid out..Version: 1.8.14

Peer to Peer ReviewsWikicamps is superb where one can read the reviews of various places. One can easily get a sense of a venue. If there is one negative comment amongst many positive comments, then the venue more than likely will be acceptable. You have the ability to agree with a comment or disagree with a comment. I love the co-ordinate system which seems to be more accurate than addresses with my particular GPS. And of course, it is a wiki, which means people can make edits to a site including the co-ordinates. I have modified the co-ordinates a couple of times as they were not quite correct and one venue has been closed by the local governmental authorities..Version: 3.0.19

BrilliantExcellent information. Couldn’t have done this trip without it..Version: 4.5.12

Adds value to your tripThoughtful features, frequent user review and interaction, a sense of ‘community’ amongst WikiCampers. Has earned its keep on our trip. 100% recommendation!.Version: 3.4.13

A must for travellers and explorers! If you’re a regular self drive camper, caravanning tourer, or just someone who likes to explore; this app is well worth the price. We use it regularly for information when planning our holidays and deciding where to stay. Whilst it is not 100% comprehensive with regards to free camps and every landmark and point of interest, it’s every close. We use this in conjunction with Google Maps and Hema Maps and between all three apps are completely covered both online and offline..Version: 4.6.14

Essential campervanning appWe didn't organise any sites in advance and this was perfect for finding last minute, great, campsites..Version: 1.7.2

Great tool for finding what you needWikiCamps has been an invaluable tool for us as we travel around Australia..Version: 3.0.25

Does Everything I Need.Have been using this app for several years, in fact pretty much since it came out. Each improvement has value and additional functions to make it better or just to smooth things out some more. I find the route planner very helpful and first used it earlier this year. Yes, it did take a little getting used to but then everything does when you are unfamiliar with it. Back up is also excellent with quick replies. Thanks Russel..Version: 3.4.13

Highly recommendedOn a 40 day motorhome trip through Australia and this app has provided great insight..Version: 1.5.2

KeithAbout to start a second road trip in Queensland Last time WikiCamps made a Kiwis day..Version: 4.3.8

Wiki camps Australia!Perfect. We bought a campervan in Melbourne and we are currently in Brisbane- we have had a place to stay every night because of wiki camps, my poor navigation was saved by the labels you can put on your own wiki map. You can plot your next destination, worth the money and more..Version: 1.8.14

Regular userWe travelled Australia for seven months this year, and used the app to check out all the places we stayed. I find the pics great but the reviews I half believe because everyone’s expectations are so different. In the car I use it on my phone, but also have it on the iPad (I had to buy it twice).By using my phone I can call through the app which is easier. I use a paper map for planning and navigating and when we know what area we want to stay I start checking what’s available. Overall very happy but have had a couple of glitches along the way.Version: 3.0.19

Great app but a few little things to fix upSuch a good app for plannings trips with loads of spots and comments from people. There are a couple of little things that I’d love to see addressed for example - When planning a trip, once you add a stop and set the date, it would be great if the app remembered that date, then when adding the next stop it continues to the next day rather than reverting back to a random date years ago - An option to add up total fees for said caravan parks over a trip (like with fuel). Overall a great app and I’m hoping a few off these things will be looked into 😁.Version: 3.8.6

Excellent Camp GuideInvaluable on our motorhome trip. Trip planner and all site details were so accurate and helpful. Even directions to sites and reviews.Version: 4.8.8

Time 2 CGreat app. We are Grey Nomads on the road for next 6 months and basically self sufficient. It is our 3rd long duration trip. We don't want jumping castles and swimming pools where we stop - just a good sized level quiet site (ideally with water available). Neither can we afford to pay the "over the top caravan parks prices" every night for many months. We are now using this app first - before Camps 7 or a google search for reasonably priced caravan parks etc. Have met lots of nice fellow travellers at these Wiki camp sites and we will also give balanced updates if the info is not correct. If everybody gives honest updates the App will be even better than it already is!!.Version: 3.0.30

This has been so helpfulI’m just sat at home in England and am planning a month in Australia with my buddy in a camper. I found this app and have spent all day playing with it and sorting our trip!! It’s been so helpful finding places to stay relevant info, routes etc. I’m just hoping that all the pics everyone has uploaded and info is as spot on as the app!!!.Version: 2.6.2

Happy campers!!WikiCamps is indispensable if you’re an avid traveller who enjoys the discovery of campgrounds and sightseeing around Australia. The app is super user friendly and contains a ton of information on campgrounds, national parks, places of interest etc. Best of all it’s a community user based app where the information related to campgrounds inc. Fees and facilitates are constantly being updated by the users, with reviews and photos. Furthermore, the geotagging and map locations are spot on with integration with Google Maps, Apple Maps etc. Plus, the information can be saved for offline use. This is very important, considering that some of the most beautiful locations for camping are quite often off limits to mobile phone communication and internet access. Enjoy!!!.Version: 3.0.30

Well worth the priceI literally never pay for apps but I gave this one a shot and I am so happy I did! The filters are amazing so you can find exactly what you need. What makes this app so great is that a lot of people clearly use it, so there are always recent reviews for every campsite!.Version: 3.0.29

Pin clusteringThe map is now more difficult to use with the pin clusters. I'd like to see the previous icons returned..Version: 1.7.1

Great App but could have a couple more optionsThis is a great trip planning app and love how it has parks, free camps, water, dump points etc marked as you are planning. Love the reviews to read and photos uploaded by others. Would love an option to make other lists apart from your actually trip plan for future reference. You can add spots to your favourites but would love to be able to view this in a list. To be able to have caravan park favourites list, free camps favourites list etc that automatically subtitles them into regions or states for example. Other than that a great all round app and love using it..Version: 3.0.30

WendynjeffWe have been privileged to have had 3 years permanently on the road traveling and seeing this beautiful country we live in with the help of word of mouth and this app WikiCamps it was the best thing we ever did in down loading the app. There are so many reasons it's easy to use great to show places of interest not only where you want to stop but along the way. I will have it open tracking our journey and will find those place to stop and investigate. Great for when you are getting to the end of the day and you just want to find somewhere to pull up for the night . Used it to tell me what shops are in the town ,fuel , water and always the cost of the caravan parks when we had to pull up for a day or two for the washing and supplies . Excellent and still use using it and we got it when it was free ........ long time . Thank you ..Version: 3.0.30

Great Support. Great appI love this app. We have been using it now for about two years and recently had a problem when it upgraded and I had to login back in and my password didn’t work because I had changed emails and I forgot my password. Thanks to Russell who was just fantastic helped me get the problem sorted. It took a couple of emails back and forth but I couldn’t fault the service He responded with in hours and was eve so great to all of my requests. Only have good things to say about this app and especially about the service I have received. Thanks WikiCamps..Version: 3.0.9

Must have app for grey nomadsThe app was recommended to us by friends when we bought our caravan. We would not leave home without it. It has helped us spend nights in beautiful, safe and quiet bush camps, find magic little gems of country caravan parks and avoid the extortionate rates of some major centre van parks. We can ignore the overly glowing reviews and the world’s worst whingers complaining about a spider in the showers and let the majority of happy campers guide us in our travels. Has saved us the cost of the app many, many times over..Version: 3.0.19

Best app for Australia hands downIf your planning on living out your car/ van or caravan then you need this app! Hands down the best thing since sliced bread! Me and my partner survived on this app solely for 2 months up Australia’s east coast finding parks, free water, cheap or free campsites, showers and even free bbqs! Defiantly reccomend for backpackers or campers alike!.Version: 3.0.9

We Can’t Hit The Road Without This AppWe have been using WikiCamps for the last 7 years and have recommended it to many people over those years. We love that caravan parks are included and additional sites can be added anytime. The ability to read reviews and prices paid help do much in the decision making - whether it be for an overnight stay (or longer) or a break while travelling. The addition of Visitor Information Centres, public toilets, water, dump points, points of interest - everything is covered. No additional cost to update..Version: 3.0.22

Brilliant App.So useful to find camping spots, prices and distances. Great for on the road..Version: 4.8.8

Brilliant !!Down load maps and content and you have the best road map ever. Always know exactly where you are on the road. Know where the next rest area, caravan park or petrol station is with out maxing out your cellular data or being left for lost when you run out of 4G coverage. Makes finding somewhere to stay so easy when you have comments and photos by other travellers to help you make your decision. Best app in the App Store!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.Version: 3.0.30

Not Always ReliableI used to like WikiCamps but on a trip earlier this year to the north of WA and to the NT, I became very disappointed with it. I ended up not using it or relying on it. My 2 main problems: 1) The inaccuracy of the details. Many sites weren’t anywhere near the location they were attached to. 2) There were many entries for obscure camping spots behind a rock or at the turning left when you see the black Tyre marks on the road. They were impossible to find. BUT they completely left out or ignored the legal 24 hr stopovers. I remember trying to find one secret little spot but had no luck so decided to pull over in a parking bay/rest stop as it was getting late as WikiCamps was of no help. In the morning, 30 kms down the road was a 24hr stopover which was not mentioned at all. I’ve also found it difficult to update site details because there was no Internet access and it wouldn’t allow me to update the site details at a later date. It seemed that you had to be at the site in order to update it. Have been looking around for a better app for my next road trip. Will try Free Range Camping..Version: 3.0.19

Useful but needs some workI used this app on a round Australia trip in 2018, and it was very helpful in finding good camp sites, but, some of the operations are pretty ordinary. Some of my complaints: 1. Trip planner is virtually unusable, the only way to plan a trip is to use route planner and jump between the two apps. 2. Distances appear to be “as the crow flys”, if you are silly enough to try and use the planner, the distance are way out. 3. When you find a site, and you zoom in to have a close up look at the map, you lose town names and other relevant details 4. Some of the details of camps are pretty inaccurate, particularly site marked as 4WD only, maybe this is for people with no knowledge of travelling outside of the big cities. I have more, but will continue to use the app and post as I find more issues. In summary, it’s a good app, but is not really user friendly particularly for some of the nomads out there who are not really computer literate.Version: 3.0.10

UnrealTravelled Tasmania for a few weeks and this app had every place to stay. Currently travelling WA and again so many options and detail. Great app!.Version: 3.0.19

Great AppFantastic app for finding whatever you needed camping wise. Filter is great to zone in on your requirements. Trip planner is great along with the ability to download maps offline. The ability to export and share your travels with family and friends is also a great feature. I also like the sorting pin option to get in idea the distance between places of interest that you might like to stop at. Great to also read the reviews (and leave a review for updated info for others) of camp sites and look at photos. Love this app. Very cheap considering we use it multiple times a day..Version: 3.0.29

My favourite appWithout any doubt this is my favourite app, and with the new updated version it’s even easier and faster to use. We have been traveling full time with our caravan throughout Australia for the past four years and during that time WikiCamps has saved us thousands of dollars in accomodation fees by the ability to check out the cost as well as the desirability of all of the caravan and camping sites in a specific area quickly and easily. Not only do the customer review section provide a good range of opinions, but the photo section also provides a great insight as to what an area has available and the site details provides all of the essential information you need to make bookings. But what makes this app so really invaluable to me is the ability to click on the directions link for a specific location and switch straight to Google maps for turn by turn GPS guidance..Version: 3.0.10

Best app to find some amazing campsites in OzSame as title.Version: 4.0.5

A Real Travellers CompanionWikiCamps has been a godsend on our 5 month caravanning holiday from Vic to Wa, NT then back home via the the middle. We had our itinerary all mapped out but due to COVID and weather conditions we often had to look for alternative accommodation sites at short notice. WikiCamps is also very helpful in finding out of the way free camping spots when we had enough of crowded caravan parks. A must for any road traveller. Happy travels to all, breath the fresh air and enjoy the peace and relaxation.Version: 3.0.30

DrFantastic app which we used whilst travelling in Australia - really helpful and informative...would highly recommend this....Version: 1.8.5

A great travel toolWe have travelled around Australia several times, and found the app to be a “don’t leave home without” tool. Previous books etc are rarely if ever used. It’s main advantage is being able to find free or cheap camp sites which suit our caravan, and at a glance see what facilities or attributes are found there. Filters can be used to only locate a site with a specific feature, such as potable water or toilets. It has a trip planner as well as a satellite finder, and fuel locator too..Version: 4.7.17

Just learning all the features. How do I share a trip with friends?.Version: 5.0.82

Family of 5 traveling OzSince BC (Before Children) we had Wiki Camps and was great as a young couple traveling. Now we have 3 kids under 6 and a rear fold camper. Thanks to this app we can find not only free camps but good caravan parks with great reviews that are up to date other Wiki Camp users. It has saved us staying at what sounds like some horrible experiences people have had. Also have personally stayed at some places that had no reviews and to then pass on our experience is a great feeling to help other users. The photos also help with seeing sites as sometimes it can be hard to fit with a camper as long as ours..Version: 4.5.12

Simply the best!I love WikiCamps Australia. I can plan days ahead where we will go, mark as favourites the camps that suit us along the way PLUS it all works offline. Many campsites are unsignposted and hard to find. WikiCamps leads us right to the campsite no matter where it is. Campers comments are invaluable for deciding where to go and where to avoid. If you’re travelling Aussie, this is the app to use..Version: 3.0.10

WikiCamps auGreat app, exactly what you need because you can download the entire map for use when way out of signal or WiFi, and there are almost always very recent comments about most sites. This is what the internet was supposed to be like!.Version: 3.0.30

Old reviews are now being deletedIt looks like the new owners of WikiCamps are starting to delete old information. Now when I read reviews and then go back later to reread them, all reviews prior to 2018 for that site have been deleted. This is not good. I want all my information back. I want all other helpful reviews back too. If it’s a new feature then please get rid of it. If it’s a bug, then please delete it and tell me how I can get all the old reviews back. I’ve closed the app and reopened it and everything is still gone..Version: 3.8.7

Fantastic appWhat a great app this is. It’s been very helpful while we’ve been traveling around. Nice that other travelers can make notes so that we know what to expect..Version: 4.7.17

AustraliaWe are traveling around Australia. This is the greatest camp reference site!! Unbelievable amount of information. You can even find where you are on the map if you don't have a cell connection, by just having your cell service turned on. It activates the GSP tracking. I love the comments and photos. We use them all the time to decide where to stay. Very interactive. Thanks!.Version: 1.7.2

Australia's Premier Camping AppExcellent app for Android and IOS for finding free and paid camping sites all over Australia. Frankly, if you are driving in parts of or all around Australia this is a must have resource..Version: 3.0.19

Hundreds of Thousands of kilometres reliable and currentWe have travelled around (including Tasmania), throughout the outback centre and several times a year, up and down the east coast. WikiCamps App, with its descriptive narratives and up to date comments and photographs from fellow travellers, has been a reliable source of information for free camping, accomodation, water supplies, amenities, toilet dumps and “must see/visit” attractions.. oh, and what to avoid.. I have shown and recommended the App to many friends and fellow travellers (the few who didn’t have WikiCamps already) and they have also downloaded and now use the App. Many thanks for such a reliable and helpful “guide/resource”.....Version: 3.0.19

Must have for travelersIf you are traveling Australia on the cheap, this is a must. It’s also great for finding hidden gems and other necessities. Good times!.Version: 3.0.9

Well worth itJust used it for a 17 day trip out and back from brisbane through NT and the Simpson Desert. Excellent app even in offline mode telling you where there are camps. Online it was even more useful as comments could be read to gauge the sites. Worth the couple of bucks..Version: 1.6.4

Love WikiCamps!Been an absolute life saver travelling around Australia in my van! Let me know where I can and can’t take the dogs which was very helpful!.Version: 3.0.19

My WIKI love affairI have been using WIKI for I think 7 years and each year travel around Australia I think approx 20,000 Kilometres plus, I have had I believe 3 upgrades. Each upgrades have been sensational and helpful. WIKI keep on doing what your doing it’s the best in Australia 🇦🇺. No where else can you get reviews, pictures, full descriptions of camps sites, including pet friendly, where you can get 💦 water goes on and on including Maps when driving to destination, showing Free Camping and National Parks, what other gives you all of this on Phone or iPad. Oh cost so cheap, to the whinging idiots get a life and stop complaining WIKI is my bible on the road. Keep improving I love having you on my journey thanks again.🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺.Version: 3.0.19

Great App with Easy to Use FiltersSo far we have found Wikicamps very useful for planning our trip to see all the camping options in one place. Being able to filter for pet friendly is a big plus. It would help if the fees section was a bit clearer when people are selecting powered, multiple nights, peak season or cabins etc but overall the app has been great and gives a sense of whether it is worth looking at the campground web page itself or not to bother..Version: 3.9.14

Well worth the purchaseSo worth the buy. User-generated in-app comments are also very handy, especially in terms of finding those hidden, out-of-the-way gems. Lots of free camping about, we made back in one night of free camping for the purchase of the app. N'urries! As they say..Version: 2.0.0

Must have campers guide!!We have travelled from the uk and travelling up the east coast. This app is indispensable, it has found us every site so far and with great details of each place, just needs more people to use it and add the info. If your camping or caravaning in Oz I would 100% get this app over others..Version: 1.4.2

Travellers bibleNo other app is needed... this is the go to app for travelling around Aus 👍.Version: 3.0.19

Great appLove the app. An improvement that I think would be good is when planning, I map out the locations, then i run through the locations setting a date. It is a bit of a pain resetting dates as you shift around your trip. It would be good if you could set the start date and then just put the number of nights on each location and the app figures out the dates. Would make it much easier when working out a multi stop trip..Version: 4.2.3

Just ExceptionalAfter a month cycle touring in Victoria, NSW and south Queensland then this App is amazing. It gives thorough and useful info on the main camping parks but also finds camping spots at smaller and harder to find spots such as sports grounds. Can’t imagine travelling/camping abroad without this App ever again..Version: 3.0.19

I must for any sort of road trip.We have been using this app for years now and find it great. It’s the first thing we turn to when planning any road trip. Not only is it great for finding a camp site for the night but it also is very useful for finding points of interest in an area where you don’t know what is around. It’s also has many other great places in the map, like dump points and places you can fill up with water, that we have found very helpful since we have started living full time on the road. It also has real reviews by real users in sites which can make the difference when decide between a few places in the same town. Love the app. Highly recommend it..Version: 3.0.29

Worth it!This was an incredible resource. Would highly recommend anyone! Well organized and straightforward to use..Version: 3.0.29

Best app purchase EVERAnyone who ever used this app can agree this is the best app purchase you can do. If you are a casual camper, going on a holiday with the family or full time on the road, this is the BEST thing you can get! The app is great, never had any bugs, helped us find amazing hidden gems and just have a great time travelling with two dogs and working from the car (so good internet required). You can add all sorts of filters and look at other users reviews of the spots, which is great! The offline maps are also great, which allows us to find the spots when there’s no internet..Version: 3.0.30

Awesome app!!!Wasn't sure if the app would be worth the price...it IS!! We've been using it on our epic 7 week road trip & it has saved us $$ by having all rv parks listed. Calling ahead we compared prices & snagged some great deals! The mapping works well & the suggestions for scenic picture locations is great. Can't recommend it enough!.Version: 2.3.8

Worth the money!Very handy. Buy it if you're road tripping in Aus..Version: 1.8.5

Travelling australiaMy shock horror was when we were in the car somewhere n i noticed wiki had all changed i was in a panic. I had no idea how to get to my wiki gps location because the new site was on some other page that i didn’t know how to get to. I’m enjoying it now but it’s taken weeks to find my way around it. I think it’d be good if you gave 3 minute tutorials on the new site every couple of days. Different customers come onto the site all the time new n old (not meaning age)and there’s a lot on here we’re still learning. We finish this trip in Dec but i’ll rack my brain after not looking at it for 12 mths what i did n how to get back to understanding wiki again. Alison.Version: 3.0.17

Must haveIf you are going around Australia you need this app. We have just done a 3 month road trip and without WikiCamps we would of been so lost for places to stay! Definitely use if you are camping around Australia..Version: 4.8.8

Thx wikicampsLove this app. Tells me everything I need to know with little pictures. Thank you wikicamps.Version: 1.8.0

Making travel so easyWe love this app, so easy to find just what you are after as a traveller both on and offline. Great to read others reviews as well. Highly recommend.Version: 3.0.17

Camping life saver!Fantastic app for finding everything you need to camp (both free and paid) throughout Australia.Version: 4.4.13

WikiCamps.Great app. Good GPS off line map usage. Most of the places are true to word and we would have been lost in the outback without it quite frankly (or divorced) 😆.Version: 4.7.17

Must have Australia travel appSo good, couldn’t have done my trip without this app.Version: 3.0.17

Game changer!Seriously impressed will be using this for entire trip driving from Melbourne to cairns 👏👏👏.Version: 3.0.19

Minor improvements neededLove the app for planning travels. One thing I would like is for the ratings and reviews sections to be combined as some people forget to rate and just review. Also a separate questions section would be good for those who are writing questions in the reviews section. Another thing that would be great is when zooming in on POI or sites the name/rating/photo could pop up, so you don't need to click on each one to find out whether or not you would like more info. I would also love if the POI could be categorised further, often I'm looking for attractions in a town and come across lots of them that are just services such as where parking is or a laundromat, public toilets etc. I don't see these as points of interest..Version: 4.7.17

FantasticBought a campervan in Melbourne and have spent the last two weeks travelling the Great Ocean Road, Grampians, and Northern Victoria with a place to stay every night thanks to this brilliant app..Version: 1.8.14

Very useful. Improvements neededThe app is comprehensive with so many sites identified. WikiCamps is a useful asset to help identify places to stay when traveling the roads and tracks of Australia. It is fairly easy to use, you do need to spend time to become comfortable with navigating it. Improvements are to the 'Chat Forum' 1. The last comment to a Q should appear at top of screen. Currently we have to scroll down. 2. Users need to be have an option to mask or block individuals..Version: 3.0.30

So useful! We used WikiCamps to travel Oz in 2014. It was a fantastic way of keeping track of our trip and forward planning too. Part of the fun of the journey was meeting people and getting their tips on where to stay next. Marking recommendations with a love heart means I had that information at hand right across Oz. Fast forward to 2021 when we are looking at a small (within state!) holiday, I refer to this app to determine attractions and places to stay. I have continued to mark favourites over the years whenever I read of somewhere so now I have a great resource at hand to work out where to go and stay. Love this app. Money well spent :).Version: 3.0.30

See Australia with WikiWe meet people with Fabulous camping books and they tell us about 'places' to go and I have always been able to find them on Wiki! Then I get directions, cost, reviews and all contact details - all in one place -fantastic! Generally reviews are not too unkind - there are always there exceptions -but you do get a sense of what is just complaining and what is really below par. We have done 'the lap' twice and wiki has guided us all the way!.Version: 3.4.13

My “go to” app for trip planningWe travelled over from WA to Queensland last August via the top. Whilst here between visiting family and housesitting we have done a number of trips - one to the goldfields, one to Cape Tribulation, to the Gemfields via Bowen, and back to Brisbane -over 4,000 kms. WikiCamps made it so easy to plan these trips. I found breaking them down into stages made it more manageable. The information available on location, site details, photos, users comments (very helpful), what’s around made it so much easier to do and you can edit it as much as you like to plan your trip. The make public feature is great too as I can share my trip with my family overseas, and now I’ve found out how to print my trips I can keep a hard copy together with photos. A very useful app, highly recommended. Well done everyone..Version: 3.0.10
