✓ Recent update causing noise gating issuesThank you for your hard work on making the Smule experience better with each update ✨ The recent new update has set the noise gating far too high and needs to be decreased to allow harmonising without overpowering the volume of another singer. Currently, the high noise gate does remove the initial static issue from the last patch, but has also removed any background improv such as humming or generally ANY soft tones. This is causing the audio recording to go from super quiet to dramatically loud at times and is disorienting to hear- it’s also difficult to re-record these sections because of recording intervals. Please fix this within the next update!.Version: 10.9.7
✓ Love this app but....I love this app and have been using it for a couple of years now, but I wish it had a mute option to mute own vocals during the song recording or when we are waiting for our turn during the collabs....I have tried turning off the vocals or turning off the vocals volume but I notice that my voice would still be recorded, so while I’m waiting for my turn to sing I would have to pause it or fast forward to my part, which I find annoying.. and time consuming. ✓ SmuleHey guys, if you haven’t already downloaded this app I would say do it now. I’ve been on Smule for over 4 years now and it’s an amazing app. I love singing with my friend around the globe and growing myself and my voice, it’s great for practice and helps get your voice to where you would like it to, sadly just lately Smule have lost the rights to many songs so losing songs with no warning is going to be aFrustration that you will no doubt share with many here that have lost songs that you have worked hard to produce. One thing I would love to see is changes to the effects, after 4 years of the same thing I think Smule should upgrade. ✓ This app is amazing besides two thingsI absolutely love using this app but there are two things that I think need tweaking or changing. 1. When I go back through my performances and open a recording there are times where it will put me back at the top so I have to scroll all the way back, just please stop having it do that. 2. Need the ability to remove people from group recordings, there are people that straight up ruin group recordings and the one that starts it should be able to remove them.Version: 11.7.3
✓ Great, but what happened to landscape mode?This last update took away the ability to rotate my iPad. The reason it’s important is the camera. If I want to do a video I have to prop on pillows and the charger port is on the bottom and there’s a cord problem.....cord, chord...pun. Ok so please bring it back. My iPad Pro is designed to prop in landscape mode. On the positive and there are many...there is no song too underground or obscure. Someone has uploaded it. If I can fine the original Venus In Furs by Velvet Underground, you can find most anything unless it’s x-rated. The quality is spot on and no special headset needed. This works perfectly with you apple headset. It’s fun and the community is very forgiving and kind. Oh sure, you have some Divas and clubs who judge...but they are nobody and I simply block anyone who is rude or critiques me. After all, this is karaoke and its for fun. ✓ Love this Ap but be aware scammers using the messenger optionA few years ago I fell it massively with Smule after a billing issue and someone in customer services who clearly went to the Donald Trump school of customer service! However it has changed so much with a massive friendly community and great songs. It’s worth every penny to be honest. My only gripe as with all social media platforms there are a small number of people who contact you through the chat option .. ‘ hi you have a beautiful smile gorgeous lady ‘ ! Now I’m all for compliments but if you click on their terribly (well out of my league !). handsome profile picture they follow lots of people but have no recordings!! I’m pretty savvy to it and just delete the messages but I do worry for people who may end up being scammed. There are two things Smule could do.. 1: introduce a report button so these profiles can be investigated and deleted if they are not genuine. 2: introduce a Dating aspect that you can opt into if you are looking for love and music ? That way then those of us just interested in singing and speaking to people without expectation can, and those who are looking for more can do so with the safeguarding that comes with a dating site. I’m met my long term partner on a dating site so I’m all for them. I do worry about vulnerable women and men being scammed though..Version: 8.5.1
✓ Great app, but have some flaws...This app is great but I don’t like one of the rules. It’s the 100 recordings rule. If you aren’t subscribed or a VIP, you can’t have more that’s 100 recordings. I love this app. I’m a person that likes to always try to improve on what I like doing and this is a great app to improve your singing voice by singing when you have time. I am in love with music, especially K-Pop. This is also a great app to listen to music. I would be happy if Smule would change that rule and let people without the subscription to be able to sing however many songs they want and keep them on their profile. If people want to sing more, but the already have 100 recordings, and don’t want a subscription, what would they do? Do you think that they would just not sing anymore? If someone wants to do something and another thing is blocking them from doing what they want, most people will try. Basically, I think Smule shouldn’t have the 100 recording limit to people that don’t have a subscription. I think that Smule should take that rule off..Version: 8.3.7
✓ Help support team was quick :)The Help support team replied quickly to my login issues, thank you :) They replied right away the next day and I was able to login again :) The other stars are based on my usage of Sing as a non VIP. I think I used to collect something before so I can get some songs on my collection and sing it solo. But when I tried it again after a few months or maybe a year, I think it’s not like that anymore? I had to join in duets so i can sing songs that I like or watch out for others to let you sing it solo. Anyway, I’m gonna have a look again and enjoy this :).Version: 11.8.3
✓ OverjoyedI have been on Smule now for over 3 years and I wouldn't trade it for the world! When I started, I thought I would just sing and maybe join some people who could sing....but it is way more than that. The app itself is absolutely amazing. It has a huge library of songs and numerous versions and genres of the songs as well as options to sing audio or if you are like me and love the camera....you can video yourself. And there are so many other things that I could tell you but there is something else that is more important to me. The Community. Within the community, there are "Groups". These groups are people that have the same taste in music get together and chat, have challenges, support your recordings, join your songs, etc. I have met some that I honestly call my family. They are always there for me when I need to talk or need advice not only about singing but about life. You also have Smule members who put together competitios. Those are really fun! ✓ AmazingI love this app! I use it all the time & it helps me fall back in love again and again with music. I also love how other people will upload songs as solos so you can sing them yourself. I have had very good feedback on my videos & it has helped me with confidence. I hope this app never changes. The only flaw I would say is uploading your own songs or backing tracks from your music app. It’s a lot of steps for one song to upload, but other than that, this app is smashing. ✓ Would’ve been 5 stars but...I overall love the app but there’s just PLENTY of bugs in the livejam where I just always crash whenever I first try joining a livejam. Those crashing issues, and the lag between the host and the other singer are the only reasons why I didn’t give it a 5-star. It’s a great app though and I love it. I managed to gain 11,000 followers through it and this is where I started singing so thank you :) My suggestion: Adding a badge to the person’s name depending on how many followers they get starting at 1k followers, then a new badge for 5k, 10k, 20k, 50k, 100k. ✓ Overall, a lot of funI’ve been on the app for close to 8 years now. I love to sing and this is a great substitute for going to karaoke like I used to when I lived in Japan. There have been a lot changes and while some of the recent voice FX were pretty bad, there haven’t been a lot of issues for me. (I have one device with an older app ver so I don’t have to use the bad FX lol) Occasionally, trying to start a song will crash the app, but restarting it usually fixes it. There are a handful of songs that seem not to work no matter what, so I’ve given up trying (and THOSE are official Smule-uploaded ones, so who knows!). Admittedly, I’ve always been VIP because it was quite reasonable for a year subscription (less than $5 a month) and the rate for me has never changed. I’ve seen a lot of complaints recently about cost, so maybe I am lucky and am “grandfathered” in under old pricing. If so, that would be sucky for newcomers... especially since Smule doesn’t seem to add many popular songs these days. If the cost has more than doubled for VIP, shouldn’t the money support licensing and helping the official song catalog grow? Just saying. On the plus side, users being able to upload songs has greatly improved the music variety available. So long as my cost doesn’t increase, I plan to use Smule for years to come. I haven’t been able to sing using wifi (strong signal) for 3 days now But- I report these disgusting users who are near naked & vulgar performances.. it’s apparently acceptable for a 12 year old to see (Smule- there are kids younger than that who use the app) But- adding all these lovely features are great! It gives me an opportunity to raise my spirits and be happy by singing many wonderful songs, some known and some that have to be learnt, solo or in unison with others. I am able to constantly practice and therefore I feel that my singing ability has greatly improved. Smule is also giving us an opportunity to make very good friends worldwide. I haven't got VIP or anything cuz it costs money but even though it's good and all, there's something I've noticed and I'm not sure if it's just my phone or if this is a glitch in the app itself: I keep getting notifications that people are following me but when i go on my profile, I've still got the same amount of followers. I've even tried checking if it made a difference online but it shows the same thing. I also refreshed the page but it made no difference. ✓ Please make Bluetooth compatibleI love this app! As someone who used to download instrumentals and play them through a speaker with a microphone plugged in to sing along to, it got really hard when my family were always resting during the day, and the instrumentals would always be very loud. Now, I can just go into a room far away from everyone and at most they might be able to hear my voice. It’s been so helpful for me. Sing! has also made me more confident in my voice and recording myself singing! So, huge thank you to Smule for that. However, one thing I would like to comment on, is how Bluetooth is not compatible with the app. I have Bluetooth headphones, and they work for everything else perfectly. I have to use my mother’s earphones to sing with when joining a song with video, because none of mine have a microphone (I’ve bought countless ones that say they have a microphone but just don’t work). I can’t join a video with my own earphones, because, keeping my phone at a distance where you can see my face is too far for my phone’s microphone to pick up my voice..Version: 6.3.7

✓ It’s amazing but there’s a problem…I honestly love the app it has helped my voice a lot. I’m not the best at singing, so it’s amazing to have an app that shows me where my voice range is at. But I felt like wasn’t trying to improve my voice but stay on pitch with the lines, but that’s not the app’s fault. The problem is that you have to pay for some songs. Of course there is some that are free like the song “lovely” by Billie Eilish, and many others. But you shouldn’t have to pay for songs. I feel this is an issue. As I had said before I’m not good at singing so I don’t want to join people and disturb them with my voice. But some people might think it’s great and that’s amazing! ✓ Wish GrantedI’ve always wanted to do a proper recording when I was little… just to capture my voice, something that I could keep and perhaps share to my family. However, studio recording back then was so expensive. When I discovered Smule 7 years ago, I felt so blessed. Finally, I have access to something that could wonderfully capture my voice. I fell all the more in love with Smule when I learned that it could host group singing as well. I have organized and participated in the most amazing group and choral performances online, and that was all through Smule. I can’t thank Smule enough to be honest. ✓ Fab app but..I think it’s unfair that even with the free songs you can only join another paying user, I adore this app and have over 300 songs recorded but can not afford to pay the amount required, free should mean free :) this means that if there are no current invites then I cannot sing the song at all, free or not. During video recordings there is no way to rewind back to a checkpoint which is a great feature as if you mess up you can just redo that bit and not the entire song. ✓ Mildly inconveniencedSo Smule is a daily activity for me. It’s part of the routine now and I’ve been on the same account for four years. I’ve never had an urge to leave a review until now and it’s simply to shed light on a recent update to the app. The new addition of “gifts” is a complete redundancy to the already-present options to love or comment on an OC and, frankly, the addition of gifts next to these two choices is annoying to look at as well as annoying to watch as the gifts given cycle through as you’re listening to an OC. This new update has no feasible use and clutters the design of the app as well as the ease of use. What’s the point of a “gift”? It means nothing to me as the receiver of one, and I don’t think I would ever send one to another user. Overall, I still use Smule and this doesn't deter my love for the platform in any substantial way, it’s an incredible app! I just wanted to express my confusion and annoyance with a new feature in some way, so that solution was writing a review..Version: 7.9.1

✓ How bad the background is for some peopleSome people get bad backgrounds beacuse they have noises bothering them when they are singing. And when that happens people dont want to listen to that recording that has bad noises in the background. The annoyinces are bad they can get worser sometimes. This singing app is good to use but, those annoying people in your background make people hate your singings and just by singing people want to annoy you and your veiwers by that i mean your viewers will get annoyed by watching your video. When people dont like your videos its not by your tone of voice its just beacuse your background was a little too anoying and too loud. ✓ Smule fixes.I love Smule but do have a few dislikes, to find out if a join has been sang or not, no indication on the page of invites to say it’s been done and forwarded need a quick option on singer and join done. The rating system seems badly calculated as some songs pile on the likes loves and have 1 love/ like with sometimes 3 to 5 people as well probably from same singing group, adding on, but don’t appear to be added on calculations are very rarely correct on nom of likes. Lots of people get shows of songs but rarely if no video they don’t get shown. Smule has been my saviour due to loosing son tradgically and I find it therapeutic to sing, thank you for your singing app..Version: 10.3.5

✓ RuinedI LOVED Smule, Until the new update, I understand you trying to “normalise voices” but you also have to understand it’s pretty annoying trying to sing a song and randomly getting “Magic” (A voice affect that doesn’t work well with my voice) and even sometimes getting “None” which just makes it sound awkward, the filters made it so people could pick which ones made them feel happy singing (mine was “Studio”) but now without that choice you most likely going to lose stars and people loved having that option, in Conclusion I think you should add back filters and let those who want to sing without them do, this review is coming from someone who gets annoyed hearing “pop star” but I’d rather hear that and see people happy then this new update, I’ve got serious temptation to get a different karaoke app now. I got a new phone, re downloaded the app and I couldn't log in my other account and whenever your on a sing live, you may be on the mic or something and you go on a different app rq while still on smule on a live and it kicks you out of the sing live and than you can't find the sing live you were in.. And! If a account has been banned multiple times PLEASE just ban them permanently.. Just for how there actions are! There are creeps on there and there is one who is really weird, keeps getting ban and he just isn't going away! Just ban him permanently. ✓ Love this app until recentlyThis app is great for singing with people or just recording yourself. However after the latest update I really don’t like it anymore. It’s annoying how you can’t change the voice affect once you’ve started recording. This needs to be put back on. You don’t know how the reverb is going to sounds until you start singing and not being able to change this makes it so much harder. Can this be put right? ✓ Big fan with small issuesI’ve been using this app for a little over 2 years now and it has become one of my favorite things. Especially because I’m a theater kid and there are TONS of theater songs and people make groups for them and it’s AMAZING. But I only give it 4 stars because it has a lot of stupid updates, for example, the newly installed gifts that are pointless, you need VIP or a lot of VIP friends to do a lot of things in this app, and sometimes the notifications just stop working even though they are on in the app and device settings. Also it took them years to get Bluetooth enabled, and we’ve been asking for the ability to make a playlist for like a year now and it still hasn’t been created, but useless gifts are there! I know half of that sounded really negative but I honestly do love this app. It’s really easy to use and it’s great to talk to other people who like the same things I do. ✓ Unwanted changesOk. Been on Smule for 8 years. I love it. I’ve met so many wonderful people. However, Smule rolls out these MAJOR updates with ZERO warning. Updates that no one asked for. There is no support for helping users navigate these new formats. Smule does not have a readily available route to give feedback either. The last major update resulted in the cancellation of NUMEROUS VIP memberships. This latest update may very well result in more of the same. We demand an OC tab! Why not list OC’s in their own tab??? With this latest update, they are so difficult to find & get buried in your feed. There should be a clear difference between songs you’ve joined & songs you’ve opened! Fix this & we can live with this unwanted update! Please Smule, stop making these huge changes without supporting your subscribers! You name it it can happen!!! Next is the fact that you get to sing with many professional singers on their own cult songs. Ed Sheeran, Jessy J and many more. Then you will bump into many of the celebrity singing shows contestants who also sound great to sing with and interact with about their experiences especially great to do in the LIVE JAM rooms where we can sing and chat in a Skype like experience. If you want to just sing then this is primarily what this app is about. You would be hard pushed to find a song this app doesn’t have for you to try and sing. All of the effects and functions within the app are extremely easy to use and updates are constant keeping things to date and fresh. ✓ Before you give a canned response...Smule developers: You know your super-users are spitting mad. Before rolling out a massive change, consider focus-testing new features and then user-testing the changes as you make them. You could have avoided this PR disaster. Also implementing small changes over a longer period of time would have mitigate some of the outrage. A few new things I liked: - sectioning of lyrics (intro, verse, bridge, chorus) - more types of audio effects - making customized audio effects per section The bad stuff: - replacing the custom cover with the globe (we use the covers to identify songs for song collaborations) - constraining group songs to only one effect - making songs repeat instantly after they play - the individual song GUI is harder to navigate. I found myself accidentally scrolling to the next song when trying to view the song details such as comments and likes. I also keep accidentally pressing the like button when trying to scrub forward through the song track. I just renewed my subscription right before the update so we’re stuck with each other for the next year. So please, give me and all your VIP subscribers a reason to subscribe again. ✓ Good app, but some things to improve...First of all, I just wanna say that Smule is the best singing karaoke app in the AppStore. I’ve meet tons of people with the same interests and we talk, so getting to meet new people is a plus. I love the option to submit songs to the song book just incase they don’t have it. The only flaws I really have is some bugs and no logout feature. I sometimes help my friends when they go on hiatus, so I need to log into their account right? The only way I can do that is to delete the app and relogin, which is a real pain. Let’s say I want to start a new profile and switch between the two, it’s so annoying to do it though because there is no logout feature. Also in the vip customize your own profile (which I have) for the color choices, you should be able to put your own color. Let’s say you have a baby pink profile theme going on, yet there is no option for pink. So the main things I really want Smule to add is logout feature and choose your own color for vip customization option. Once again I’m not bashing the app, I’m just saying some things they could add to improve the app and make it better..Version: 8.0.5
✓ I love it but...I absolutely love this app! Being able to listen to people sing that may not have the confidence to in person is just amazing to me. But I can only give this app a 4 star rating, not because the songs are bad quality or quantity, but because sometimes I get disappointed. There will be times when I look up an unusual song and it won’t be there or it is there but there are no duets. It’s the same thing with old songs, and it really disappointed me the first time it happened. You may ask why I don’t just make a duet or a solo myself, but you need to understand I’m still in middle school and I don’t even pay my own bills yet. Heck I can’t even buy a full meal by myself let alone pay the VIP subscription fee! ✓ A very good app - but sky high subscription costThis app is faultless- it does what it says on the tin. If you enjoy singing but perhaps lack the confidence to do it publicly, this app is for you. The subscription cost is however ludicrous. I use the app say around less than 10 hours a week when I have free time. There are cheaper streaming services than this and I use those far more often. I believe for the amount of time you use the app it is poor value for money. Unless your an inconsiderate oaf and either don’t care or live in a detached house so your not driving your neighbours insane it means your time is limited. That doesn’t mean the content lets it down, if anything it’s almost too good. Having artist collaborations must cost a fair amount and I personally couldn’t care less whether I sang with an artist or another member of the public. Now for the second time the VIP status is gone! I have sent many e mails no answer! The last time they fixed it and said I should renew through them no way! Some of the reviews here are a little unjust. 1: paying- if you want to sing solo you pay a subscription fee. However to join anyone else is totally free. The vip sub is quite expensive, but if you use it regular and if singing is a hobby, it’s justified. Although I do agree a reduced price and trial would bring more people to the app. 2: I have never struggled to find a song I want to try. But again if I don’t pay a monthly or weekly sub I have to sing with someone.. that is totally fine. 3: people have complained their game is linking to adverts to often... A: it’s not a game. ✓ A Suggestion!I love this app. I get to sing which I don’t get to do very often however, I would like to suggest something that Smule doesn’t have to complete but might help those people who aren’t able to sync with the others they are duetting with. ✓ Re singing old songsI adore Smule it has restored my love of singing and through the app I have made a ton of new friends I do however have one complaint, a while ago Smule removed the restrictions on singing songs so they could always be opened and joined and you wouldn’t just have to do them in 7 days. ✓ Great appWhat needed to be mentioned has already been done in other reviews except one thing; the accuracy of the genres songs are listed in. I’m into rock music and I got a good laugh when I searched for the rock category to find Disney and Billie Eilish songs. Even in other non-pop categories you’ll find them filled with pop songs. This makes it difficult to find songs since it keeps recommending you genres that you aren’t singing.Version: 8.5.1

But... i had to delete it because too much money😭The game is great I love it it’s just there is bugs where you join a livejam and it just crashes and a bit too much money please make it cheap cause I had to delete it because it was too much money... great game tho love it but too much money! And please make it cheaper because I have to delete it and my account and my friends are really nice and I miss them so please!!!!!! Oh and on iPads it crashes because when I joined a life or live jam then it kicks me out or crashes so fix some bugs too and please make it cheaper because on the App Store it says it is free but you have to pay money don’t buy it it’s a waste of money too much money if was cheaper I would get it thank you for reading!.Version: 8.6.9

✓ Love this app, but live jam doesn't work all the time.Live jam causes my app to crash and shut down sometimes. I like the new feature but this is a problem. I am able to use the regular way of recording songs though. I have been using this app for six years and I love it, but please fix the crashing issue, and also I would like easier buttons to control the live jam portion of the app, it's a bit confusing the first time you try it..Version: 7.4.5
✓ I like it but...I used sing since 2012 and I love but with the recent updates I haven’t really like the app as much... First in the past used to be able to watch a Videos to get credits to buy songs or so sometimes they would automatically give you credits on your profile as soon as you login but now you have to be a VIP just to get songs seriously...Second you used to be able to view all your videos from your first everyone to your most recent now you have to be a VIP just to view any of your older posts after two years ago like wow...Third you used to be able to choose if you want to do a solo duet or group song if you don’t have enough credits for the song you got to earn more but now just to be able to do a solo duet or group creation for people to join you also have to be VIP just wow.. it’s really upsetting because some people can’t give VIP i used this app for a long time now I’m 13 even if I asked my mom to buy VIP on this app I know she wouldn’t and I know plenty of people are probably upset over the new updates because now you just have to buy vip for stuff like.Version: 7.2.1
✓ Brilliant PlatformAs an artist of many mediums and a founder of two organizations to support creativity as well as connect the muses with the creators and inspire others, I am well versed in apps made for profit VS option of ‘prophecy’ I applaud Smule for their artistic centered apps, though Sing! Karaoke is my favorite. The options are magnificent for those interested in singing for sake of joy thru live streaming free-styles with own instruments, Lyrics, choreography, ect. I didn’t sing Karaoke before this came out. Now I have connected with talented and kind people worldwide utilizing our voices, remembering to speak up and be the verbs we are, instead of the nouns we are told to be. Excellently thought out, fantastically well cared for, and admired much. I recommend Smule Sing! Karaoke to all, and thank the developers for keeping in contact the connection of artists, aware of stream.
