We love the Toca Boca apps, but because this one was more than I usually pay, I hesitated. Finally I downloaded it last night. They like it, but not as well as some of the others. I will watch to see how much they do play it. If they start playing it more, I'll change my review, But graphics and animations are cute, and it's simple and easy to understand for the small ones. I do agree it really is geared more toward the 2-4 age group than 3-7. It would be good if there was something to do other than drive around in circles picking up the same passengers and cargo. What this game requires are objectives, such as shunting or picking up specific cargo and dropping it off at a specific place. I think it would be great if Toca Boca adds this to Toca world, I think that would be outstanding and have more of a point to it. ✓ Agreeing with MaccollectAs Maccollect said in his review of this game, I personally love this game; however, there is no way I am playing this game for an hour straight. Take inspiration from other train games such as : Train Driver Journeys, Train Simulator and Trainz Driver. There is no element to this game. Graphics; perfection, Education; top priority, it just needs a little challenge. Shunting, coupling, broken bridges, runaway trains and more selections for kids to customise their train. ✓ DisappointingI was very excited to here about Toca Train as all the other games have been an absolute delight and a firm favourite with all my family. First impression however is completely uninspiring. The other games are purposely deigned to be open and unrestricted but it is clear what the child can do and they are entirely engaging. What's not to love about building a robot, feeding a monster a microwaved sausage or giving Santa a buzz cut. After driving the train for a few minutes you feel like you have done it all and it is not clear as to why you are making stops or why you should even bother choosing cargo. After 10 minutes of persistence my nearly 4 year old said - "daddy this is a bit boring" and gave up. Toca Boca make by far the best children's app's on the IPad, i own them all and love them. ✓ Don't waste your moneyWe have a few of the Toca games (tailor, kitchen, kitchen monsters) and have enjoyed them all. And since my son is really into trains I thought this would be a good choice. It wasn't. He's 3 and lost interest in about 10 minutes. I think because it's so monotonous. Once you visit a station to pick up a passenger and then stop and pick up cargo, you've essentially finished the game. It just repeats those two stops, with very limit variety on who/what you pick up at those stops. I can't imagine this holding the interest of a six or seven year old (they state it's designed for ages 4-7). I like the Toca games in general, but not this one..MPRansdellVersion: 1.0.2
