One huge design flaw, otherwise greatI love this app, but the interface design makes it far too easy to accidentally through the segment you're doing. Pretty frustrating when I'm in minute 12 of a 20 minute steady run to accidentally push back to the warm up and cancel all the progress I've made. This was also a problem in the couch to 5k app. Fix that huge design flaw and I'd give it 5 stars..Version: 3.6.3

It lost my run...?I really liked Active’s C25K program, so naturally once I was finished with it I downloaded this app. The first run was noneventful, and exactly what I was expecting. However, my second run was not recorded! I heard the voice cues and even the ending “cool down” through my headphones...but once I opened the app after to check my progress, I discovered my run had not been recorded. So disappointing....Version: 3.6.3

Ok but could be greatThere are still lots of bugs in this. Trainer sound doesn’t always work, pace doesn’t match the gps, and much clunkier than the 5k version. The 5k version is so user friendly and slick. Seems like it should be to make this app as good as the more popular 5k version. I would definitely consider looking at other options until functionality is improved..Version: 3.6.6

No Voice PromptsI chose this app because it offered me exactly what I wanted - 5k to 10k quickly. You rely on the voice prompts to change pace, cool down etc, but too often there is no vocal prompt. This sometimes happens at the ‘halfway’ point so you carry on running because it doesn’t tell you to turn around! It doesn’t happen all the time as well, which tells me it’s faulty and not the mobile device. It’s a shame because it’s what I wanted, but it doesn’t deliver..Version: 3.6.3

No encouragementI like the sessions but I wish it had encouragement throughout the run, also it only vibrates my watch when I need to change tempo etc, changed settings nothing makes a difference.Version: 3.6.6

A little disappointedI’m a little disappointed with this app because there are no prompts during the run. I don’t know when the 5 mins walk is up unless I look at my watch and see the heart. This loses me time because I can’t set my watch accurately. Also there are no prompts during the run to let me know how much time has elapsed and how long there is left. This is very difficult during the tempo runs. However, I am getting fitter so there are some positives!.Version: 3.6.4

GPS problem?I use couch to 5k and it work perfectly. But I do the same run with this app and it doesn’t show the same distance...what’s wrong with the GPS??.Version: 3.6.3

Not entirely clear...I want to like this app because I loved the Couch to 5k predecessor... but they haven't been clear on the difference between a jog and a run. Couch to 5k build you up to a point where you're jogging 30 minutes... and now, suddenly, on Day 2 of this new app I'm being directed to "run" for 30 minutes. What does that mean? On Day 1, I was told to run for jog for 10 minutes, run for 3 minutes, and jog for 10 minutes. I made it 2.5 minutes before I had to slow to a jog. So, what kind of jump is that? Am I supposed to jog a little harder? Or am I supposed to run like my house is on fire? What constitutes a difference between a jog and a run that is sustainable for 30 minutes straight? Perhaps I've been running this whole time and thought I was jogging, I just can't imagine going faster so soon when I've just become comfortable with a 30 minute "jog". Perhaps if the app recognized your typical jogging pace and encouraged you to hit a new benchmark by going 6mph instead of your usual 4mph, for example. That would help clarify what I'm supposed to do today, because frankly I'm stumped and don't want to burn out too soon..Version: 3.4.3

You guys messed upI don’t get how you went from such a great couch to 5km app to this. Everything worked flawlessly in the 5km app. The app looked great, the vocal cues works with Apple podcasts running and it was a pleasure to use. This app is a disaster. It looks like crap and for some reason I get no vocal cues if I want to run the podcast app in the background. Why fix what wasn’t broken? Shame on your developers..Version: 3.6.6

Too finicky to be usefulThe app requires you to have your phone with the ringer on, screen permanently unlocked and only works with Apple Music. My phone has been on silent since 2012, and if I run with my screen unlocked, I’m begging for issues (workout paused, skips ahead, skips back, etc). I don’t care about not being able to use other music apps as I use Apple Music but I care very much about having to use it within the app which means I can only listen to my playlists and in the order I put them together, not shuffled. The workouts are good and offer a great variety, but if I have to follow all these rules to get to them (and then they might be skipped around) what’s the point? I’m not bothering with contacting support. I just use Garmin Connect to build workouts lifted directly from the app. At least then I know I won’t have any issues..Version: 3.8.0

CompetentI like this app but it loses data sometimes. At the end of the run, it’s only logged 1 mile of the 3 miles I ran. And like another person said, on longer runs it would be helpful to give more descriptive time markers audibly..Version: 3.6.3

Good, but glitchesYes, brill idea after couch to 5k, but no, voice prompts don’t always work and certainly rarely seem to breakthrough if you’re listening to a podcast, etc. And worse, the app will stop, backtrack back to walking and start the running over again.. or jump forward. I can’t work out if it’s when I touch the screen, move between apps, or what. Happened today when I hadn’t left the app. Good thing I had another tracker going..Version: 3.6.4

FIX THE BUGS!!!When going from network to Wi-fi, the app will crash every time. When trying to open the community tab, it crashes every time. This is so frustrating! I absolutely loved the C25K app, and can’t understand how this one has so many issues!! For the person above me that’s having issues not hearing the coach...push the lock button in the top left corner. It will keep it on top regardless of the error..Version: 3.6.3

FIX THE VOICE PROMPTSI moved to this app after using couch to 5k with excellent voice coach Sarah Millican. voice prompts on that app worked perfectly. i am now into week three on this app but have failed to get any voice prompts during my runs. i’ve followed the instructions given on the app page but still no joy. i tried using music within the app and separately using apple music - still no voice prompts. luckily i have an apple watch and so get notifications on the watch when a change of pace is required. why is this so difficult to get to work? does anyone using this app get voice prompts during their runs?.Version: 3.6.3

Please fix the bugsI love the program and log, however, the app itself if very difficult to work with. Each time I exit the app to change my music it stops my workout and wants me to start over. Also, I wish there was an option to turn off the trainer and just use the timer. I use another app to actual map out my runs and distance and in the past with the 5K trainer was able to use both at one time, but I can’t with this one. It’s very frustrating..Version: 3.6.4

Good plan however no voice promptsThis is a great app with some useful features however it has no voice prompts when running, so you have no idea when you are done, or when you need to switch speeds. Also after each run it gives a summary of how far you have ran and also your minute miles, however in this figure it takes into account the two 5 min warm up/cool down walks either side, bringing your time down Some good features of this app is the community feed, so you can link up with your friends and see each other’s runs/times which is great motivation. It also has a personal log which shows your progress.Version: 3.6.3

For the most part good appI started with the couch to 5k which was perfect for me. Now I just finished the first week of this app. It isn’t bad but I can’t hear the prompts from the coaches sometimes which defeats the purpose. When I choose a playlist it doesn’t play but that doesn’t matter because I can leave the app and open my music. I hope they fix these issues sooner than later..Version: 3.6.6

USELESS! FIX THE BUGSNo point using this app as there are no prompts to change pace, so you has to keep checking the phone to see where you are in the training program, then go back to the start of the section..Version: 3.6.4

In-run audio cues only work sporadicallyI like a lot about this app. I was satisfied by the training content itself. But a HUGE drawback was the failure of the audio cues. They only worked at the beginning of the run, sometimes at the end of the run, but only VERY rarely during the workout. This was very frustrating. From reading other reviews, it doesn’t sound like this is a new problem. Until this gets fixed, I’m using another app..Version: 3.6.3

DisappointedI love the Couch-to-5k app! It works really well and has continually been updated over the years to maintain the high quality. 5k-to-10k, however, is really a let down. When I first used it a few years ago I liked it but it doesn’t seem to have been updated since. The distance I run is always significantly off. It cuts my five minute cool-down off after about one minute. The voice prompts don’t work consistently. After completing the first three weeks of the program, I’m ready to start over with a better 10k training app..Version: 3.6.6

No prompt during runningThere are no prompts during the sessions which make the app useless when you are running unless you keep looking at your phone every 2 minutes… completely useless for the purpose.Version: 3.7.1

Music Not Working ProperlyI completed the couch to 5k app and loved every minute of it. I decided to continue with my training and I am not a fan of the 5k to 10K app. I was hopeful it would work the same but the layout is different, it’s not easy to share your progress on social media, and the music player does let work correctly anymore. My music won’t sync correctly with my phone. My playlists are mislabeled. I have to search around to find my running mix. Please please fix this bug. I can’t run without music and I like to sync it with the app so that I can hear the trainer when she talks to me..Version: 3.6.3

Where is the location permission for iPhone?I wanted to Love this as much as couch to 5 k but it seems to be missing many of the gratuities I love on the original. It is not tracking my time by GPS or my pace and when I looked in the app permissions location doesn't come up like it does for the Couch to 5 K. Also, there is no cute little medal for completing your run to share on Facebook..Version: 3.6.3

UnusableVoice alerts sporadic at best - no idea when to start running or when the halfway point is, and the tempo runs don’t work at all for the same reason. I’m giving up on this 4 runs in as it’s not fit for purpose..Version: 3.6.3

Okay workout, poor loggingThis app has crashed for me on ~50% of my runs with it so far. I am starting week 3 of the programme and will no longer really on it to capture the runs..Version: 2.0.0

Very flawed appThe app is great for getting me to run a fast 10K quickly, but several flaws. Coach’s prompts only come through at the beginning and sometimes the end. I can only play certain music through the app and when I do, I don’t get any prompts. It is VERY inconsistent with my Apple Watch so I can never use it without my phone..Version: 3.6.3

BrokenThe app keep’s shutting down for no reason. Tried everything to sort it out. Now i just think it’s broken maybe..Version: 3.6.3

CrappThis is a Crapp. A huge disappointment. There are absolutely no audio instructions during your run, no encouragement, no notification that you should start or stop running. You might as well check the time on your watch while you are running. Plus it requires far too much information to get into the app and does not integrate properly with the iphone, meaning no auto fill. Coming off the back of the sensational couch to 5km this was such a waste of time..Version: 3.6.7

Unhappy with the app, looking for a new oneI was very happy with my couch to 5km app made by the same business. I was not happy with this app. The app is supposed to track how many km you walk and how many you run. It does not accurately record either. For example, i will have ran 3 to 5 km at a time with a 5 min warm up and cool down (total 0.5 km for each). The app will indicate that I only ran for 1 or 2 km and the remainder of my run I walked. I let the company know of this issue. Their first response was am I using the app properly? I indicated I was and sent screen shots of my concerns. To date the problem was not resolved..Version: 1.1.0.5

Useful but not as good as Couch to 5kStill good for measuring time / distance, but trying to view logs of past runs is impossible past 2 previous runs so I can’t compare previous progress..Version: 3.6.8

No promptsAs a beginner I need the prompt to motivate me and tell me when to change pace. I don't have a fancy gps watch. Wish this wa s'more like the couch to 5k. That said im completing the runs and getting fitter without injuries so great work on that front.Version: 3.6.8

Please fix the bugs!I L-O-V-E-D the couch25K app. Completed it & enjoyed getting healthier. I’m absolutely BAFFLED as to why this follow-up app is so dysfunctional. It constantly notifies me to turn on “background app refresh” in settings when the background app refresh is already on and my phone is fully charged. The whole point is to have a little coach in your ear when you’re running, but it doesn’t give audio cues unless you have the phone open in your hand, and the music doesn’t play properly. I’m guessing the dysfunction is related to the background app refresh” bug, but I’m not a programmer so what do I know? I also really liked the variety of coaches (Zombies & Unicorns!) on the C25K app & would like to see that added as well. I just know I want this app to work as great as C25K did. Dear Active, Please, Please, fix it!!!.Version: 3.6.3

Mr MrDon’t waste your time with this app, will only ruin your run and temper. I just completed the couchto5k app so was looking to go to the next level. Starts off all well and fine to get you going, but then that’s it. Doesn’t tell you when to start your run, when to begin the interval/tempo runs. My phone locks once out in my pocket all this app does is send you notifications, I mean who on earth runs with there phone in their hand staring at a screen looking for messages. So annoyed as was so looking forward to progressing further. Avoid like the plague,,,,GARBAGE.Version: 3.6.6

Not badWould prefer the ability to put my phone on do not disturb while using the app as texts are a distraction. Also it often doesn’t log my distance and I have to input it manually. I run the same route every day so it’s not a signal issue.Version: 3.6.6

Crap compared to the 5k appI loved the 5k app and was eager to get the next one, but this ain’t it. It’s cool that it’s free I guess but I would much rather pay $2 for the same quality as the 5k app. This one looks like it hasn’t been updated in years, the cues don’t work, it doesn’t work with my Apple Watch. I’m shocked it even came from the same company..Version: 3.6.6

No audioOnly got this app so I could hear the prompts as I run and can't get it to work!!.Version: 3.0.2

Good reportI have only used this 3 times I would totally recommend this app. Sign in for me was a bit of an issue. But I’m not sure if that’s just for me or if it’s the app. But overall fantastic..Version: 3.8.0

Good enoughLoses stars because you can’t mark a workout as complete without actually doing it - I don’t take my phone with me when possible so just have to leave it running at home. Also be nice to be able to go out of a work out to check what some of the terms mean (what’s the difference between a jog and a steady run?!). I did get the voice prompts though, and it’s getting me out running. For five stars it needs to be cross-compatible with other apps, like Runkeeper.Version: 3.8.0

Not like the Couch to 5k versionThis app is no where near the quality of their Couch to 5k app. That app got me to my first 5k! This one has left me having to re-run a couple of sessions because the app bugged out and quit during the run. Very frustrating. I miss Runicorn as well. I’ll be finding a new 5k to 10K trainer. Very disappointing when compared to their previous app..Version: 3.6.4

BugsThe Couch to 5K program was great. This one has a lot of bugs in it. Starting with acing to watch an ad when you want to use it. I’d rather just purchase it with no ads. Second when you start a run you never know which one you will get. Today I tried to start Week 2, day 2. But it gave me “Open Run”. Third it doesn’t prompt you when you are suppose to change cycles. Just to name a few.Version: 3.7.1

Something wrongMy 0-5k app worked fine, but this one is not measuring distances and speeds at all accurately. Does something need fixed or is there a trick?.Version: 3.3.4

Make directions audible!I absolutely loved Couch to 5k. I want to love 5k to 10k. But the only directions that are audible are the announcement that the run has begun and the announcement that the run has ended. All other directions during the run are silent. Please change this in the next update!.Version: 3.6.6

Doesn’t go through entire sessionRecently finished couch to 5k. Started this one, but noticed it doesn’t take me through the entire time. Example, I’m on week one, workout 2. It is 5 min warm up, 10 min jog, 3 min tempo, 10 min jog, and 5 min cool down. It started with the 5 min, 10 min jog, but it only went 1 min tempo and went straight to 5 min cool down - even the 5 min cool down cut off before the time was up. This cut my time and distance down and was unable to meet my goal for today..Version: 3.6.6

Not as good as the originalCouch to 5k is a 5star app, this is a solid 3. It has bugs, for example I just set a new best pace but it still has an older run set as best pace even though I knocked 40s off the time. Also the audio cues DO NOT WORK while in the run. The app says you need to turn off vibrate only and adjust the volume but that doesn’t fix the issue. And it’s not an issue in the first app so why would it be in this one? Also the resolution is different, almost zoomed in more or something. Overall, 3 stars... I’d pay $10 to have this app exactly like the first..Version: 3.6.4

DisappointingI had used the C25K app and thought this would follow on but sadly it’s nothing like it. All three voices are synthetic American. I can’t find how to look ahead beyond the next session to see how it is structured in future weeks. There is no feedback while you’re running so you don’t know how long you’ve got left. I’ll be looking for a different app to get me up to 10k.Version: 3.6.7

Commands too quietI was out running on day two with app was listening to my music running on a gravel track and did could not hear any voice ques ... the music pauses but you can’t hear the voice! It’s a shame because the program build up to 10 k looks good. Sorry looking to use another app now....Version: 3.6.3

Not badThere are so many great things about this app but it doesn't break out your pace for running, jogging, tempo and walking. It would also be good if based on your pace to have it tell you your target pace for each kind of run you need to do..Version: 3.6.2

Hate ItI hate this app. It inaccurately estimates my average mile minutes. It too easily unlocks and then either pauses or moves to the next section. Worse still, if you do accidentally go to the next section abs try to go back, it erased the miles you already clocked. Couch 2 5k was so good. This app is t worth it..Version: 3.6.8

Doesnt workThis app does not work at all. The couch to 5k app works amazingly and this wasn’t next step. This version is still completely outdated, the GPS works but in the log your pace averages don’t actually match up. It keeps telling me my average running pace is something like 3.5 minute or 5.5 minutes which is impossible for me especially considering it’s giving me the correct distance over the run. I also know for a fact that I average a 10 minute mile. I have emailed support several times and they keep giving me the run around like asking me to run in a more open space. I run exactly where I ran every day using couch to 5k with zero problems. They need to just stop avoiding it and update this app. I’m very much a person that’s motivated by forward progress and this app not working has definitely slowed down my progress. I will likely switch to a different app for my 5k to 10K training after I back peddle trying to get my 5k time back up after having so many glitchy disappointing runs with this app, my progress has digressed. Really disappointed and even more annoyed that customer service is putting the problem on me..Version: 3.6.6

Very poor appI used this app twice so far and on both occasions the app didn’t let me know when it was moving onto next sequence. It is total silence when you are running so you don’t know how you are doing. I thought you would get an update every minute. I did day 1 which was walk for 5 run 10 walk 5 run 10 walk 5. Not once did the app tell me when to move onto the next sequence. It doesn’t even tell you how many calories you burnt. Not very good if I’m honest..Version: 3.6.3

GlitchesThe app was fine for the first couple of weeks then it started missing some voice prompts, and now has started randomly backtracking to the warm up or jog. One time, when I had almost reached the cool down, it got in a loop of saying “warm up, jog, warm up” etc every few seconds and it had lost all the data from that session. I’ve given up with using it. I’ve written out the remaining training plan and will just use a timer in future..Version: 3.6.4

Some issuesFirstly it’s counted the warm and warm down walk as part of the average pace. But that’s completely irrelevant. It should only use the sections where there is actual running. This the pace that will be relevant to a 10K. Like others, the prompts need to be more prominent. They should override other music apps or lock screen. This is possible and should be looked into and updated The workout programs are good so I’ll stick with it and just use another app to record pace.Version: 3.6.4

Ok but bummed it doesn’t measure up to precursorI get notifications on my Apple Watch but I really want to hear verbal directions mid-run in my headphones while listening to podcasts and music. Can you make that happen? I’d even pay a couple bucks for that..Version: 3.6.4

App won’t go to workoutI’ve been using this app for a while now. I opened it today and it won’t go to a workout. I’ve deleted and reinstalled twice now. It freezes or just won’t go anywhere. I’ve lost all my history and can’t seem to get any more..Version: 3.6.8

Could be betterWould like voice prompts during run. I have to keep getting my phone out to check which part of the run I should be doing..Version: 3.8.0

What happened 😂The 5k app was great. I downloaded this one and was so confused I thought it was a different app. It works exactly the same as the other but it looks like it was made in 2015 and they never updated it. I mean it’s still good but it looks like they spent a lot of time on the 5k app then got lazy with this one..Version: 3.6.4
