5K to 10K for Positive User Reviews

Needs a little more for 5 star.Great app Let down by voice prompts at intervals. If this can be sorted in an update it would vastly improve this app..Version: 3.6.3

Basic but usefulVery basic app that simply sets out the run plan. Prompts only after warmup, at half way point, at stage changes, and time to cool down. I guess, at this stage runners don’t need the confidence boosting messages couch to 5k supplies, so it’s useful to know how to train. You have to enter distance manually, so if running on a treadmill you’d need one that provided the info. That said, if the app had been able to share data with Apple’s health, such as workout time, distance, calories etc I would have given it five stars..Version: 3.6.6

Just what I needThis app helps me push myself a bit further each time..Version: 3.6.2

5/5 for 5 to 10KI was such a fan of the “couch to 5K” app! It made it easy to get back into running into really do it at a pace that was comfortable for me. I was really happy to learn that they had another app to help me continue my process and ultimately achieve my goal of running 1/ half by my 40th birthday October 2021! Do you self a favor and download both apps! Do you want regret it..Version: 3.6.6

Good but basicI love that the tempo changes and it gives you cues to remind you how fast the pace is, but I wish in the stats at the end, it said how fast you were for each different pace. I’ve seen other apps that do that, but I love the gradual building of stamina and endurance with this app..Version: 3.6.3

Good but could be betterThis is a fairly good app but as one of the previous reviewers said it would benefit from more prompts and information on timings, eg 2 minutes left..Version: 3.6.8

I used this app exclusively to train for 2 10KsI’ve paid for apps that are far inferior to this one. I love the voice coach that tells me to run at different speeds for different durations. A+ app!.Version: 3.6.4

SuperbAbsolutely brilliant app. By far the best version I’ve found out there..Version: 3.6.6

Love it needs Apple Watch complication to come backLove it 2 things need to be done complication and a 1/2 marathon with Avatars-and the coaches-not the lame one you have now for 1/2 marathons..Version: 3.6.3

Great app butThe trainer volume needs to increase! I love the app, but when you can’t hear the trainer sometimes you run an extra few minutes without realising!.Version: 3.6.6

Worked perfect for meWent from completing couch to 5k straight to this. Using this app while running on a trendmill works perfect with really good pregression into my 18th run.Version: 3.6.3

Great training appI am coming off another app that helped me train for my first 5 km. What I liked about that app was that it had built in walk-run timing; this app doesn't. However it does tell you when you've hit the halfway point of your runs or when you're changing tempo. It also has 3 different trainers, but they don't talk as much as other apps. I do like that this app is connected with many runs in your area - I registered for my 10 km run and it downloaded to my app. I'd recommend this app for those who already have a pretty good base and are just looking for a little structure..Version: 3.3.4

Great AppI love this series of apps. I have completed the couch to 5k and ran my first 5k in like 15 years. I am now on to the 5k to 10K. I like the new UI, however I cannot change the units from metric to US. When will this be available?.Version: 3.6.6

5-10KJust wish there were a few more prompts and words of wisdom and encouragement during each run.Version: 3.6.6

Great workoutFinished the couch to 5k program and wanted to keep going so this was the next step. Just finished my first week and love it. The ante has been upped and the runs are challenging and also rewarding. Love it.Version: 3.6.4

Great Free AppI think it is ideal as a step up from couch to 5k. All right there aren’t any motivating words but all the prompts are there, including the halfway point, as long as you read the notes beforehand you’ll do well..Version: 3.6.6

Love it but trainer hard to hearIt’s great that I can listen to my music or podcasts but even w the trainer volume up, they are very quiet and I often miss the cues to switch what I am doing..Version: 3.6.6

Love this program!I’ve used the couch to 5k app to get back running after pregnancy and injuries, and now I’m using it to build up endurance for longer distances. I love that it eases the runner into safe progression. I would like to see: More integration with treadmill. When I manually add my distance it gives me a pop up that my stats are erased. This is ok as I track stats with other apps. More coaching during the run. For instance, I was distracted at the beginning of one of my runs and missed the instruction for what a tempo run is. As someone who didn’t do track in high school and basically just goes out and runs I don’t know what some terms are. I would have liked that instruction in my ear as I ran. Regardless, I feel like this is a safe progression that will keep me from being injured by overdoing it! I have recommended the couch to 5k to new runners and I’d recommend this one too!!.Version: 3.7.0

Useful appGenerally really good companion app for increasing my distance. Couple of observations: on more than one occasion the progress has forwarded or restarted when I check how much time is left and haven’t actually touched the screen so it seems overly sensitive, also it’s a bit buggy working with Apple Music and my beats wireless headphones when foregrounding and back grounding the app even though my settings allow for backgrounding..Version: 3.6.6

Love the programGreat program, just wish the voice over was louder, have to hold phone in hand to ensure not to miss changes..Version: 3.3.6

Not “couch” to 10K but closeThis app is great. I thought it was a couch to 10K and was surprised by having to run for 30 minutes straight on day one! It was just what I needed though, and I did it and I felt good and I’m still going here in week three! I love not having to think about anything other than my pace and route. The jog setting has a red color against a black screen that is hard to see in sunlight, but that is my only complaint. Thumbs up!.Version: 3.6.3

So far so good. This is a good wee app. Only 4 star though as I struggle to hear the commands over music even though I have followed the instructions to turn it up..Version: 3.7.0

Where is johnny dead!!???!??Amazing app! Would have got 5 stars if they kept Johnny Dead from the 5k app. We want Johnny Dead!!! :).Version: 3.0.2

No promptsI agree with Mankyliam unlike couch to 5K this app does have the prompts during your run. Sometimes hard to know where you are in the run - but otherwise offers good progression towards running 10K..Version: 3.6.8

Not as good as couch to 5k app but does the jobI’m only rating 4 stars because compared to the couch to 5k app there are no prompts during your run. There’s nothing telling you how long you’ve been running, how long is left, when you’re halfway or nearly done. The app also gets you doing tempo runs (it doesn’t really explain what this means) for some sections of the main run, however as before it doesn’t actually prompt you when this tempo run has started or finished, I had to carry my phone and keep checking the timer to see when the tempo run is due to start/stop and to see how long is left, really inconvenient went I don’t have my device in hand and instead carrying it in a belt..Version: 3.6.4

Great one training my first 10k run!Excellent app.Version: 1.1.0.5

Good AppI like this app, it is very good at getting you to be a better runner. It’s challenging for someone that does not like to run and wants to start. I know this app is for people begging to run longer distance than a 5k, but more information while running would be good at this point. Tell the time you have left in a section is useful & not just “you are 1/2 way”. Also, how fast your running pace is, would be good so when you are supposed to run faster “tempo run” or “fast run” you know if you are pushing yourself..Version: 3.6.2

A little disappointedI loved the couch to 5k. I like this app, but the log does not breakdown your walking time from your running time. I am unable to truly track my pace :(.Version: 3.6.8

Good training app. Some audio problemsI started from the couch to 5K and I loved that app. I would recommend it to anybody. I’m now pushing myself onto this sequel of an app. It seems that they really do have the occasional difficulty synchronizing Apple iTunes on a shuffle with the rest of my library. I had to stop the audio in the app and then go to iTunes to play my own music on shuffle. The problem was, I could hear the music but it didn’t shuffle and there were no audio cues. This needs to be fixed, however, it is a good training app. I’m really feeling the burn every time I do it but it’s not overwhelming me. I’ve gone from the couch and I’m now finished week 10 overall. Week one of this app. It’s been good and I plan to see it through.Version: 3.6.6

Good appI really like this app! I finished the couch to 5k app so wanted to keep going. Found this one, which was by the same company. The couch to 5k app is much better bc the background refresh works in that one and there are more coaches to choose from (I miss the unicorn!) I did find a work around to the background refresh by keeping it open and on and just locking it, so that has helped tremendously!.Version: 3.6.6

Great little app!I really like this app! It gives you a separate average for the time spent running. I didn't give it a 5-star rating because of the voice prompts which didn't always seem to work. I read another review which said that it doesn't give voice prompts at all which is not quite true . I had a similar problem on some of the days so I wonder if it was missed out by accident? The last couple of weeks have been fine (weeks 4-6). So glad I didn't delete! Hopefully the creators can do a quick check and send out a quick fix. Overall great! I am amazed at how easy moving up to 10k had been with this app. Thank you..Version: 3.6.3

Great workout build upI am in week 6 and really like the work outs but seems quite minimal in terms of interaction and support .. a few of my first interval runs the coach only came on at the beginning and the end but hope that was just a glitch ...Version: 3.7.1

You Need to update how it looks!Small screen bad graphics...just so out of date. Come on!.Version: 3.6.4

Next levelA good next step to couch to 5k though more basic. Still good though!.Version: 3.6.6

Useful toolCould do with more audio prompts along the way, rather than just half way, and I would like to have control of the music myself at the end of the workout because I often run a few minutes more to get home after the official workout has finished.Version: 3.7.1

Awesome for new runnersStarted out 40 pounds heavier with the Couch Potato to 5K app & successfully ran my first 3.1 in a long time. Prepping for a 15 K & love how this app ramps up at a steady pace. Sometimes I’ll repeat a week if I’m not ready to move up. Definitely use it in lock mode - it’s too easy to accidentally skip forward or ahead in a workout & mess up your log..Version: 3.6.4

Changed my life! This apps motivate me, I don't like that they separated Couch-to-5k and 5k-to-10k into 2 apps to make us pay twice though..Version: 3.0.3

A good appI like it but would like more motivation from the characters and distance reminders every mile.Version: 3.6.4

Almost thereI don’t normally write reviews but I thought i would as I nearly didn’t get this due to some of the comments about issues with voice prompts. However from my experience 2 weeks in now is that they work just fine if you follow the instructions. However, 4 stars only for 2 reasons. 1. As others have said, why is there no breakdown between your run time/pace and the warm up time/pace as there is with C25K? Seems odd to ditch that function. 2. I keep getting confused with the different speeds and it would be useful to have a handy checklist. Is a tempo run faster or slower than a steady run. Than a jog? Than a fast run? For a novice runner it’s hard to remember!.Version: 3.6.6

Great follow on to couch to 5kGreat app, easy to follow and use. Only not given 5 stars as sometimes, when running where it is noisy, you sometimes can’t hear the voice prompts. I did try a couple of other apps before settling with this one. A good feature that could be included in future would be the ability to set up your own run session..Version: 3.6.3

Good appBegan with couch to 5k and I like it better because it showed the calories you burned, and you can’t hear all the prompts on 10K app but other than those two issues, I like it!.Version: 3.6.4

LOVE THIS APPHighly recommended if you're new to running no matter what age or fitness level you're at (start with the 5k first of course).Version: 3.6.6

More NeededWould like guidance at half way point of run and also some advice/guidance as to how much quicker tempo runs should be..Version: 3.6.4

Perfect next stepIf you’ve just finished Couch to 5km then this is absolutely the right step if you want to push on towards 10Km, can’t rate it high enough. Really sensible progression. Removing walks and introducing tempo runs (which the app does explain in the settings). But also includes rest weeks which are also really important. The app does prompt you mid run, for section changes and half way point - but it’s true it can be a bit tricky to get the audio through - I suggest unmuting and changing phone settings to allow this app to interrupt you. It includes distance and pace tracking. Meaning you don’t need to use additional tracking apps (though I do use strava also). It also tracks and store multiple sets of data for each run, so if you repeat runs or the whole programme like I have two years apart you can track progression in the app. And it’s free! And negative would be that’s the community side of it clearly hasn’t been maintained for 6 years but that’s not really what I need it for. And it might be a negative to people that there are no celebrity voiceovers but as this isn’t a coaching app like C25k is thé it’s not that necessary in my opinion. Long story short - download this app now!.Version: 3.7.1

Not as good as the couch 5kThis app is great not as good as what I’ve just been using - but is great. I rated it 4 as I’m missing the prompts and timings which makes me stop and look at my phone - due to trip hazard of running and opening app. Any updates fir me would be prompts of minute section markers etc.Version: 3.6.6

Excellent training plan!I completed the Couch-to-5K app and was looking for a new goal. This app has great workouts that gradually increase distance/time. All audio cues cut through music/podcasts perfectly. Love using this and look forward to running a 10K race..Version: 3.0.3

Not as fun as couch to 5kPlease bring back runicorn!!! 😊 I’m not sure why but couch to 5k seemed a little more user friendly and had more characters. It’s still a great program I just feel like it needs some updating..Version: 3.6.6

VersatileI love that I can use this app when I’m pushing a stroller, on a treadmill, on the beach or trail, and sidewalks. Great integration with my playlists and accurate mile measurement. Plus, I can’t imagine anyone training alongside me than Drill Sergeant..Version: 3.6.6

Fantastic plan! This is perfect in many ways. It ties into GPS, music and times the cues for you. There is no extra thought that needs to go into your run - I.E. No need to measure routes for distances. I started the couch to 5 k very out of shape and feel really good doing the 5-10k. I don't think I could have done it without this program's gentle progression!.Version: 3.0.3

Just what I needed! This app is very simple and exactly what any runner looking to advance their mileage and improve their speed needs..Version: 3.6.3

A bit glitchyProgram is ok as a follow on from Couch to 5K but does not run as well, the commands only come through now and again so I have to guess timings for each stage It’s very glitchy but it gives me weekly goals which is great All the voices (when they work) are super annoying!.Version: 3.8.0

Love this app but one minor annoyanceOverall, I’m a big fan of this app. I got started with the Couch to 5K app which was perfect. This one is almost as good, though there is one problem. When I am running, sometimes you cannot hear the coach prompting you to alter your pace throughout the work out. I’m not sure why that is but it can be a little bit annoying because you have to check your phone from time to time. I think this happens when the screen is off but the app is still running. Other than that, it is a great app. Hopefully they can fix this..Version: 3.6.3

Good for a free appI’m on week one. The app does tell you when you’re half way through. I’d like a 5 minutes left notice too. Otherwise good..Version: 3.6.6

Fantastic !Great app for anyone wanting to improve their running agility!.Version: 3.0.3

Shame about the voice cuesSuch a great programme to take you from 5k to 10K. Well paced, safely increasing runs just such a shame the the voice cues seem so hit and miss. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. Pleeeeeease fix!!!!.Version: 3.8.0

Great plan but the voice coach often failsThis is a really good free plan. My only complaint is that the voice prompts don’t cut in which means you have to look at the phone a lot. Not ideal when running!.Version: 3.6.3

So good I wish they had a half marathon app!I always hated running. In high school I ran a 15-minute mile. At the age of 30 I started using Couch to 5k and saw great results. I was able to run my first official 5k in 32 minutes after finishing the program. I bumped up to this 10K program and the results are getting even better. The tempo runs and fast runs are killer at first, but they improve your overall endurance. I’m in week 6 and I’m sure I’ll hit the 10K mark by week 8..Version: 3.6.2

It’s okayIt’s an okay app, but I wish it were updated like Couch to 5K. I’m sure that one is far and away more popular, so that one gets more of the developers’ attention, but it wouldn’t take a whole lot to make this one better. I’d appreciate some definitions here since I’m not super experienced in running other than C25K. Is there a difference between a jog and a steady run? What’s a tempo run? How much effort should I be exerting during a fast run interval? I know I can wing it and it will probably be fine but I’d just like more information available through the app..Version: 3.6.4

Changed my lifeI have always hated running until I started using the couch to 5k app. Now I look forward to going on these runs and have graduated to this app. I was 132kgs 4 months ago and have lost 17kgs so far. Thanks guys..Version: 3.0.2

Got me going!Thank you, thank you, thank you. X.Version: 3.4.3

Good appI’m training for my first 10K and needed a simple app to vary the workouts and get me there. Like the voice prompts - just remember to take your phone off vibrate it they won’t work. Like the simplicity..Version: 3.6.3

Very good.Only tried this app & it has worked for me. Did the Couch to 5K then progressed to this 5K to 10K. Took me steadily without injuring myself, so what more can I ask for!.Version: 3.3.6

Great appKnocked off one the start because wished the app measure distance once the run started and did not include the warmup and cooldown also wish you could set interval markers so you knew how far you have gone otherwise very good.Version: 3.6.3

Awesome. I feel myself growingI was apprehensive about the graphics but once I tried the app I’m literally becoming the runner I always dreamed about being.Version: 3.6.6

Good app but has some minor bugsI really like this app and went through its predecessor, Couch to 5K, but it does have some bugs. The voice coach only speaks at the start and end of the workout rather than at transition points. The Watch app was disabled, so hopefully it’s being fixed..Version: 3.6.3
