This one is not particularly my style (their other app, Percolator is the bomb!) still though, this one is made just as well as the other. If there were such a thing as app social class, these would be in the top. They belong up there with Apple, Reece Witherspoon, Daft Punk and the Beatles. ✓ Great, fun app…… Easy to use, great visual results. In my eyes, only two things keep it from being completely perfect: the results of using the "adding ink" feature are dark artifacts that break the border of the underlying watercolor piece. Sometimes it's a good thing, but the only way to make it good every time is to make it controllable. The other problem is that when I click the "write a review" button within the app it takes me to a blank screen within the App Store, which makes me have to take an extra step in order to come back and write the glowing review this app deserves!.Version: 2.2

Thankfully the developers came through. Given the right photo, Popsicolor can make some really great and interesting effects. ✓ Quirky Popsicolor just got betterWhen it first came out, I immediately liked the pop-artsy effects created by Popsicolor, but then found I didn't use it much, relegating it to a novelty folder. My reservation about it was that it took over the show, leaving not much room for creative input from the user. In this new version, there is a greater variety of effects which seem to apply a lot faster. Also, there is a long list of apps to which you can send your Popsicolored artwork, so it's no longer such a one-trick pony. When I'm seeking inspiration, Popsicolor will now definitely spring to mind more readily..Version: 2.0

✓ Another Winner From TinrocketAllows for gradient overlays with an impressive range of controls, e.g., dual color options, linear, radial, etc. DEVELOPER: Would prefer a different layout of the tools, as they show up above and below the image working area, and the accordion layout, while cute, wastes a good deal of precious screen real estate. The results from these kinds of art apps are always going to be a tad unpredictable, personally I find that one of their charms. (You do need an image with strong contrasts to get the best from it.) As to speed - I can only imagine the processing power needed by these creative apps to transform images, I never cease to be amazed by what can be achieved. Currently feels quite slow to process (on either 4S/3rd gen iPad); would be great if you can speed it up… (Is there no way of caching the levels of the colours so that when you change colours that would be instant-ish; I don't mind the initial processing being a bit slow. Alternatively offer a low res preview, with high res output when you want to save?)
