✓ Creative, beautiful, dark.A wonderful indie game I've loved for over a year now. My boyfriend got me the full version and the difficulty curve is great, it's nice and lovely then turns into a dark story without a second of narration. The achievements give you an overall idea of what you're doing to your protagonist and the background tells you what's happening to the environment and the backstory of the "planet" you're on. ✓ The Best IOS Game I've Found!Badlands, is the best game for Apple products I've found. It's simple controls (you only tap your screen) but very challenging at some points. The part of this game that stood out the most was the amazingly beautiful background scenes, closely followed by the stunning sounds the game produces, everything you do has it's own sound. The multiplayer is simple to use and you only play on one device. The only problems I've found are: the single player is short (I'm waiting for an update which includes more levels) and it gets you hooked. Overall I'm very satisfied with the game and I think it's worth every penny it costs..Version: 1.0
✓ A work of iOS artThere are definite nods to Limbo in this game, the feeling that the world is completely hostile and everything's out to get you is nigh palpable however I still couldn't help but admire the scenery. The eery whites of strange creatures eyes as they stare from the mythical, Rayman like forest while looks absolutely divine. Amazing mechanics as well, very well though out combinations of power ups and environmental dangers ensure you never feel drastically overpowered. My only gripe with this title is that I wish there were more swarm sections, they were absolutely fantastic! ✓ Super fun, superbly made.An extremely well-crafted game, with lots of levels. The challenges increased at just the right pace. Some challenges require a bit of thought and strategy. You can skip some if you get sick of trying but I haven't had to yet. Art and sound is dark but not too scary for kids. Characters add some cuteness to the dark theme. The theme is novel and not formulaic like some other games. I've played this on iPad and phone, and both are great, phone is more of a challenge seeing past my fat fingers. Controls are simple, so kids can play but does take some skill in timing and some strategy. Yeah it's difficult, It takes time. This game isn't supposed to be easy. If you're looking for a simple mobile game to pass the time, this probably isn't it. But if you want to challenge yourself, it's one of the best games I've ever played. There is a great sense of playfulness, discovery, danger, haste and even menace. The little guys... whatever they are, can die in the most brutal and disgusting ways. It's your job to make sure that as many as possible make it through. Even if you have to sacrifice some of them for the benefit of the team, so be it. It's fantastic level design, imaginative background and the funny little expressions and power ups for the creature you play add to my point of it being a five star. A lot of the great levels will make you think twice or even make yourself laugh out loud. The package has also got a local multiplayer which absolutely fantastic to play with a couple of friends. And some recent updates have added new levels for multiplayer to show that the game company making this are still keeping this game fresh. I can only hope it will update to a multiplayer online which will definitely get more buyers. But it is still fantastic as it is at the moment. I also think that this multiplayer on badlands beats the multiplayer on gravity guy due to the power ups and awesome level design. Issues The game hasn't crashed or had any sort of glitch. Conclusion A single player game would have made the game great on it's own but with the little cherry on top e.g the multiplayer. It has just made this game a little more greater. The ambient sound effects are brilliant. Deeply engaging - and wait until you hit the s l o w m o t i o n and another dimension of play unfolds. ✓ Fun game?Well for starters it is a really fun game and the obstacles are creative and smart but as I was reading some reviews I realised that they were totally right, this game has no storyline no real explanation to really anything. Before you go there though, ask yourself do you really want/need that. If you like having a storyline and everything else well have a try of the game you may not care or just ignore it for this game but you could easily delete in a few tries. Above all else though it is a really fun game. Just try it I think a lot of work was put into the game and all the amazing sound affects may make up for the loss of a storyline. TIP: One recommendation is that it has an in-game mirroring option for Apple TV because I only have an iPod fourth gen and playing multiplayer is a bit hard without it. ✓ Great GameI've been playing this game since forever. It's been part of my childhood as well. I recently got a new phone that had 3D Touch capabilities, and it ruins the game for me. Levels are Fiendishly tricky with traps and contraptions aplenty and if you manage to complete the game, then there is a level designer, so you can create your own.
