✓ It Works Kinda WellThis app does pretty much what it says it does. All the time? No, a lot of times it gets the transcription wrong but some quick edits fix everything up. Very good with rhythms but notes it can get wrong. (Hint...when notes are wrong they’re usually flat). This is great for classical and jazz composers. It would be great if one could export as PDF, MIDI and whatever file Sibelius and Finale use. That would be great!.Version: 2.5.5

✓ The simple tool I was looking for …Playing for my worship team at church, we cycle through a lot of songs. Playing guitar, while it’s obviously more about the worship, there’s all those little intros and riffs that I would like to remember. Because I don’t play music full-time, and even the songs that often, it’s always like relearning it again each time. Since I read music, now I can play the intro or riff, and now have those few bars stored for a very quick and easy reference … next time the song comes up in the rotation, it minimizes all of that relearning again. obviously, I think it will be helpful for my own composition and playing around, but I was more specifically looking for a tool to store a library of simple melodies and riffs. ✓ It works wellI sang a slow new tune (posted as anon) and it got the notes etc perfectly written and played by midi (piano) and wav in excellent definition. I wish the score could be re-useable; I printed it to get a copy, although I can't forget it because I use it for my didgeridoo experiments for varying the pitch without needing to vary the length of the tube. The downloaded voice recording needed its extension (none) to be added as wav for it to be played by Irfanview. The downloaded midi version played ok on the computer; perhaps they'll enable more easy storage of the software's output...eventually..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Excellent app!I got this app to transpose some folk songs which featured on TV or in films, but weren't available on soundtrack sheet music. While the transposition isn't completely perfect - it misses some slides and shorter notes in the singing - it is detailed enough to allow me to put those notes in myself when I practice the song later. ✓ Good for Writing Melodies in Your HeadIf you’re playing an instrument, I can definitely see hardships, especially a chordal one. For me though, this helps with getting a melody that’s in my head onto my instruments because I’ve been having so much trouble with my wavering internal pitch. Speeds up that process very quickly and has taught me a lot to maybe not need it eventually along the way. Definitely a good training wheel for pitch minded ears..Version: 2.5.5

It would be great if it had a button you could press before singing that could pitch you into a chosen key, also would be great if you could let it notate out in swing 8ths. ✓ Works for MeThis is a VERY simple app, and it seems to only work on VERY simple music. It does pretty much what I bought it for. I sing into the microphone on my iPad, and the software converts the notes I sing, into sheet music, and plays back the composition on one of several virtual musical instruments. One human voice can only sing one note at a time, so if you don’t sing the note exactly in tune, the app will record your incorrect note. I use it to compose melodies. I don’t sing words as lyrics, I sing a repetitive sound, like doe, rae, or me. So I sing the different notes of my melody as: doe doe doe doe doe doe, pronouncing each “doe” clearly, and at the same volume. I don’t even try to sing the notes in the “correct” rhythm - the app records the rhythm you sing. I suppose if you could sing notes in the exact rhythm you intend for the finished composition, the app would print the notes in the correct rhythm. After you’re finished singing your notes, and the app finishes converting it into sheet music, you can use your finger to drag any note up or down on your iPad screen. So if you want a B# to be a C#, you just drag it up. The app is so simple it only takes 2 minutes to figure it out..Version: 2.5.5
✓ Great for drafting!!Begin with the end in mind... What do you want out of an app? This will not create a perfect score the first time you throw your voice into it, but it is excellent for brainstorming that first draft of your piece! Like others have said, it’s not yet fully able to capture chords from my guitar, but it is great at single-tone sound capture (i.e., maybe use “la” when intonating melodies). My issue in the past has always been forgetting the melody or progression of tunes that come to my cranium. So tragically frustrating when I can’t remember a great tune I had while driving or just living life, for example. So (for me at least), this is fantastic for getting that creative/catchy tune down on some kind of sheet. This is huge!.Version: 2.5.5

✓ Don’t Trust The DoubtersI was extremely hesitant at buying this app because of the prior ratings, but I went with my instinct to get it anyway. When I tried out the app for the first time, it did an amazing job. As anything, it was not perfect, with some different notes and wrong rhythms, but it was nothing that could not be fixed. I recommend singing your song clearly on “la” instead of with lyrics and add them in at the end. It may take a few tries, but the first ones can be deleted. Get this app!!!!!.Version: 2.5.5
