Don't Look Back for Negative User Reviews

Fun but easyGreat fun for about 20 minutes, needs to be longer for the next two stars!.Version: 1.3

Don't even waste time on thisIt's free, but there's so much better games for free you can play instead of this. Just another indie game trying to be art..Version: 1.0

3/5It's a good game don't get me wrong, but it is slightly flawed, mainly in regard to the very small control buttons - at least as far as the iPhone 5 is concerned. The gameplay is challenging, yet not unforgiving. A fun game over all, a shame the controls hold it back since the buttons not activating, due the small active zones, can lead to unnecessary frustration..Version: 1.0

Fun, short, challenging.Cute and fun game, had difficulty shooting at times. Definitely worth the download. Thanks!.Version: 1.0

Why the praiseWhy do people love this game so much? They are literally blinded by nostalgia.Version: 1.4

It's a mystery...Don't Look Back is a retro styled mystery game. The game begins with a type of person looking at someone's grave, you travel through monsters and many more creatures. And it's fun, I found myself really entertained. Especially since it looked like a Atari game, however some people were saying that it ends up being more than just a retro game. That's NOT true, it stays a retro game and doesn't turn into something else. Don't get me wrong, for a game about pixels and no story it really grips you. But the ending was the lamest excuse in game history! At the end of the game you expect some huge story to come, and you still have no idea what the heck just happened. It leaves you so empty and soulless. This was the worst ending ever! Overall it was a really entertaining game that leaves you empty at the end, but hey. It's all about the money right?.Version: 1.0

DissapointingMy first impression of the game. "Whoever made this has a long way to go if they want to make video games." This game isn't unplayable, but it's pretty close to being unplayable. The "buttons" cover a lot of the screen preventing the player from seeing most of what's going on. For lack of a better way to say it, it's a noob mistake. Why even add buttons at all? Just a simple couple second flash showing where to touch the screen to move shoot and jump and you're good. This is a touch screen platform. Buttons aren't needed. See through buttons are one thing. I could put up with that, but solid giant buttons are just unnecessary and pointless. Get rid of the buttons, show where to touch the screen for the different actions, then the game can have a chance. As of now, the game itself can't be judged because the experience is literally blocked by the controls..Version: 1.2

O.K. GameI quite like this game but it has some really annoying issues like I have an ipod four and the control buttons are super huge and cover most of the screen. The second complaint is that all the ground goes black and i cant see it..Version: 1.2

Neat titleIt's short, sweet and creepy. Give it a try. It's free and hardly taxing on you thumbs..Version: 1.4

Check free ver. on PCToo small virtual buttons ruins game. Looks interesting though..Version: 1.0

Some challenge, no saveGreat colour, music. It's challenging but not too hard. Most challenges can be overcome, but there is no save :(.Version: 1.0

ButtonsThe button registration boxes are too small also if I didn't have to start again every time i play that would be great.Version: 1.0

Dog water gameIt has a big glitch which is is when you jump up and try to move forward in the air it doesn’t work it makes it had like there is a barrier!!!!! And this game is a copy from Onspon gameing!.Version: 1.4

Won't saveClosed game and re opened and I found the only option to start new game, disappointing that I had to lose my progress. Especially in a game type such as this. When jumping and moving sideways when you land you stop being sideways sometimes..Version: 1.0

Doesn’t work.It looks cool, but tapping the buttons does nothing..Version: 1.4

A fairly tough game. It's a Terry Cavanagh game, so the difficulty is to be expected (i.e. Super Hexagon). Personally, I cannot handle the frustration, but since it is free, it is worth a look..Version: 1.0

Incredibly pretentious and frustrating platformer.I don't know when the NES was considered art, but aside from the graphics and royalty-free music, this game has little to offer in terms of gameplay..Version: 1.0

Trash.Press and hold right to move right until literally the exact moment that stopping moving right will kill your player at which point the controls will randomly decide if you get to proceed forward or not. Trash..Version: 1.4

Don't look back?Yea it's short. But a game of this sort shouldn't be an 80 hour experience. Yea it doesn't have a save option. But this was meant to be an "experience", and you can't get that if you don't play this in one go (seriously). Yea you'll need solid skills to beat it in one go. But hey, a game about going to hell and back (I perceive) shouldn't be easy. Besides, I don't think shooting the Devil in the face would be as effective irl as it is here. At first I questioned the name don't look back, as this games graphics are firmly rooted in the past, but in the later part of the game it gained a significance. Whether that significance was mainly in the game mechanic (you physically CAN'T look back) or philosophical is up to you. I choose the gameplay side. Games with a nice story are all very well, but they're not there to teach us anything truly life changing. And this... Kinda doesn't. I still enjoyed the experience though, and the ending was touching. Without giving to much away, let's just say it doesn't end with the usual text scroll. But I still probably wouldn't recommend this TOO freely..Version: 1.3

DecentDone in 5 mins. Gets laggy at times. Small buttons..Version: 1.0

Terrible.Probably one of the worst games ever. Like the music though!.Version: 1.0

GREAT game, TERRIBLE controlsOkay...here's the deal. The good: This is a really fun game, with great potential. Challenging level design without feeling unfair, with a dark and somber mood. Reminds me a bit of the classic "Pitfall", with more depth. The bad: The controls. Man, oh man...the controls. I've died SOOO many times because the left or right button fails to recognize and I jump up instead of out. Or run off a platform because the jump fails. Not sure if the hit box on the buttons is too small, or if it just doers like button combos...but for a platformer like this, it's pretty inexcusable. I don't mean places I fail. I am fine with that and recognize immediately where I screwed up. I mean places the game does not respond to my control. In this style game, controls are KING...and if they're sloppy, you create a poor experience. DEVELOPER: Please fix this. PLEASE fix this. I want to give you a high rating and purely positive review...but until these controls are fixed I simply can't. Play the game. Get others to play. Watch where and how they fail. Use debug builds to track how the controls are being used in conjunction with each other in failure situations. I believe you can do this. So please, for the fans...make it happen!.Version: 1.0

Buttons waaay too largeUnplayable on an iPhone 4S unfortunately.Version: 1.2

Good gamePLEASE MAKE SAVE OPTION !!!!!!!.Version: 1.3

Seems nice enough, but......the controls are dismally frustrating. I loathe touchscreen platformers and this isn't much of an exception. 8-bit graphics do not mix well with a much smoother interface beneath them. Limited movement is where the challenge lies in older games whereas this is far too fiddly for its own good. Furthermore, the simple colours and soundtrack seem to be highly regarded but really they are ten a penny nowadays and this isn't exactly fresh or exciting. I lost interest after about five minutes, but five minutes is all it takes to find another game of this ilk to satisfy me. Try Passage for similar simplicity, or bypass all the dross and just play Sword & Sworcery instead..Version: 1.0

It’s good, but I deleted it.So,good game, right? But there are some obstacles that are a little hard. The bosses are hard.I can’t remember what they looked like though, but you don’t have to update the game. :) Everybody have fun playing!.Version: 1.4

BUTTONSLike, wow. Seriously, there touch controls are way too large! Please shrink the controls so I can actually play the game..Version: 1.2

The Music!!!!! 😢This was a great remake of the original game, but then I noticed they replaced the music!! Why! Don't get me wrong, its still a great game, but the original music was AMAZING. I just wish you had that music, even a re-vamped version of it..Version: 1.0

BORINGWORST GAME EVER!!!!😤.Version: 1.0

Needs an updateDoes not work anymore. Controls constantly glitch and the game froze near the end..Version: 1.4

Bad gameThis game is so rigged.Version: 1.4

Like it but wayyyyyyy too hardDude you gotta make this games easier on the second boss it's too hard.Version: 1.0

Controls...The controls were horrible.. I died so many times because the stupid little guy would stop dead mid-jump or not jump at all and run off cliffs. Controls are very bad, but I like the concept.. Not very fun with the controls, though...Version: 1.0

Good game with small annoyancesIt's a good game, I'll give it that, but the fine line between "skill" and "luck" takes part greatly in this game. All my problems seem to all boil down to the controls. I have nothing against them, but the buttons are tiny, and when your thumbs are rather big, you die quite a lot through no fault of your own other than your thumbs being too large. You therefore have to develop an accuracy for the buttons, and when time is against you, your accuracy starts to drop again. If the registration area for the buttons were made larger, then I would most likely give this four stars, but due to this small problem, I give it three. note: I'm aware there's a version online and I'm sure I would enjoy that a lot more..Version: 1.0

Need save points. Was playing this in my bus, has to exit the app. Come back and have to restart all over again....Version: 1.0

Great game, no saveThis is a five star game, great to waste time with. But after advancing quite a bit over the weekend, I opened the fame to find that all I could do was to start a new game- very frustrating.Version: 1.0
