Blinkist: Book Summaries Daily for Positive User Reviews

Blinkist is a game changerI love this app. I’m starting up a new business and have a lot to learn across so many areas - developing a business plan, pitching my service, writing great content, doing market research etc. With Blinkist, I can learn some of the fundamentals quickly. And switching between reading and audio is genius. So simple but so helpful..Version: 6.20.0

Brilliant summaries!I’ve been loving having Blinkist and discovering so many different books that I normally wouldn’t have time to explore. Most of the narrators do an excellent job and are easy to listen to as well. It’s also great to have a recap of books I’ve already read or listened to in full..Version: 8.7.0

The best app I've ever downloadedI've had this app for just a few weeks. In that time I've read nearly 40 blinks, and I can tell you without a doubt it is THE BEST MONEY I HAVE EVER SPENT!!!!! I've learned numerous amounts of information in various different subjects: science, psychology, self help/ improvement, and read the biographies of countless individuals. I truly feel in these last few weeks I've become wiser and learned more about the world than I probably have in the last 2 years (I'm an 18 year old college undergrad just for context). It's changed the way I approach my life too. I feel more secure, happy, and go about life with a much more positive and confident attitude. I reflect on myself more, actively seeking new experiences and love meeting new people. It's just made me so happy in life. Endless thanks to all the people who made this app. It's the best thing I've ever paid for!!!.Version: 4.7.6

Too expensive for my needs but……I would recommend it for business folk. The app provides the salient points contained in business, self-development etc books. And, really, don’t we all skip to these points when we’re reading such books?.Version: 8.25.0

Awesome!!!I love that I can learn something new in the limited times I get to relax. It's great to have to audio version as well so that I can utilize driving time to expand my knowledge. There is a really good selection of books to choose from too. I will definitely be recommending this app to all my friends..Version: 3.6.6

Just loving it...My life has changed for the better, and it only took a simple step. Each morning while taking the train to work I listen to a new book on Blinkist. I find it not only educational but inspirational, but most importantly it put me in a happy and motivated frame of mind before I enter the office and the busy day that lays ahead. UXFirst time I used great platform!!! One minor thing that can be improved is the UX (user experience). When you read it you need to chose the section. That is great!!! because you can come back or skip but it should be also a function that allow you to read continuously one section to another automatically and also be able to pause it and continue. The reason for this function is that sometimes you open the same section you are reading and you need to go back an pick the subsequent. It is a minor task but distract the flow of your learning. However, congrats!!!! I will recommend the app to all my students and friends..Version: 6.11.0

Learning from blinklist-what is success and what is the best way to get there.I have made discoveries through Blinkist that there’s no one way to succeed in what you want to do and no one can tell what’s real success is. Success is in different formats and yours could be not yet discovered, though in general terms success is to get what you want or reach where you’re going. I have read some blinklist emphasising goal setting as best way to get what you want, at the same time another blinklist promoting systems. Take another example of Plato and Solon philosophies there are of different angles I wouldn’t say one is right the other is wrong. To conclude one has to work out what best suits Him or them and by reading Blinkist one keeps on discovering. A..Version: 4.7.7

Perfect for busy dad.I went from reading books to audiobooks to Blinkist and couldn’t be happier. I’m usually strap for time to sit down and read so Blinkist is a welcome change. Love that I get the “essence” of the book and avoid the fluff. If I need a reminder of certain techniques, it takes me 15 minutes to refresh my memory. As a busy dad who loves books, I couldn’t recommend it enough. My new daily app..Version: 6.33.0

Why We LoveI am a psychotherapist with a 25+ year career. I am constantly seeking tools for myself and my clients as we continue on our personal growth journey. I stumbled across this app and purchased it immediately after perusing it’s content. I have recently divorced after 31 years, 4 kids, and 1 granddaughter of being married to a Narcissist. I am an empath and even though I am a trained and licensed clinician, I have struggled to understand how I could have possibly have stayed in such an unhealthy union for so long. As I prepare to share my story in whatever format that will be, I must continue my life long journey of learning and this app is PERFECTION! It will continue to empower my daily commitment to become my BEST self!.Version: 4.7.4

NeutralityBased on the last blink I read. Aligned with a stoic mindset, having the blink to support my day is a vital source of inspiration. Reading a blink in the evening, can totally change my perspective of the following day, re-align my approach and energise me. In todays fast paced society, being exposed constantly to the worlds 1% of fantastically wealthy people, blink reminds us that materialism isn’t necessarily what we should aim for….. being solid, consistent, kind and organic……..Version: 8.11.0

Love itReally good for the time poor person who loves to learn. Constantly being told about this and that book and this app lets me get the key points of the book in less than 30 minutes. If I want to know more than purchasing the full edition of the book is always an option. Thanks!!.Version: 4.7.4

What an amazing appI was a bit sceptical at first before buying it because some reviews mentioned that this app couldnt replace real books, sure it doesnt, you usually will get a more extensive research from a real book, however, getting information for 15 minutes from any random book in any subject you can think of, its life changing, I have been using it for 2 weeks and I already feel more intelligent. I wish i got into it earlier, highly recommend it..Version: 6.45.0

The best you can gain in a day !!The best knowledge you can gain in a day by reading a blink each day. Kudos to the developers and those working on the project. The writing in the blinks is really great and gives u a whole lot of insight in just 20 minutes read. Loving it !!.Version: 4.7.9

Love it!My biggest challenge is making the time to listen to my library. Great summaries and offline mode is great when on flights etc..Version: 4.7.7

Blinkist as part of my daily routineEvery morning I listen to the audio daily blink as I drive to work. It is the best way to start your day, as you travel to your first destination having already learnt something or tapped into another world view. It is a great app and I would recommend to any one who is trying to achieve any type of goal..Version: 4.8.1

A great app - slightly more needed for the premium membership thoughThe blinks I’ve read so far have all been great at summarising the key points in a wide variety of books. They are a great way to understand and learn the major points in a certain book in a short space of time. I’ve also found myself purchasing the books of the blinks I find particularly interesting, so it’s a great way to discover new books without just reading the blurb and taking a gamble. However, for the yearly or monthly membership I think just a few more features are necessary to warrant the price. I’d like some longer blinks of books that have larger amounts of information in them (30 minutes worth or so to read would be more satisfying). Offering some popular books with their original short blinks as well as an optional, longer version to read/listen to would be a great addition..Version: 4.8.1

Fast and Easy ReadIt used to 1 weeks for me or more to finish a book and in this fast paced world with so many good books I always used to think how can i read all those in single lifetime with work and other commitments but this app has solved my problem. Now i can get the main ideas of as many books i want in 20 minutes and increase my knowledge and productivity. Thank You for making the reading easy..Version: 5.2.2

Lead like a coachLead like a coach Was great - will share with my exec team. You are getting me fit as I Blinkist & run ;) Thanks.Version: 6.4.0

Bibliophile Superpower AppBlinkist helps me blow through those NF titles that look interesting or cover a topic I'd like to learn more about without committing the reading time. I get the info I'm looking for and can use the time saved to spend reading good writing (and absorbing those powers). In other cases, reading the Blinkist gets me to commit to the full book experience. I like that I can save and recall books as needed, too. Good selection on a variety of topics. Now I read Blinkist when I have ten minute pockets of time instead of mindlessly surfing the internet. For real, I hope this app is around til I die bc it's really helping me achieve my life reading and learning goals!.Version: 6.14.0

Blinkist Does Not Support Apple Family SharingAs of today, the Apple app store states that Blinkist supports Apple Family Sharing - it does not. Tech support for the app store was kind enough to spend an hour and 20 minutes with me trying to get our family members signed-in as Premium Blinkist members. They referred me to the developer to fix the issue. Blinkist, based in Germany, offers e-mail support. No phone support. With their help, I was successful in getting an additional member added to the primary Premium membership. All Premium members, whether they have Apple or not, have the ability to add an additional Premium member attached to their account at no additional cost. That’s nice, but it is not Apple Family Sharing which “makes it easy for you and up to five family members to share purchases of some of your favorite apps”. Our family participates in Apple Family Sharing and although we are pleased that an additional person can benefit from Blinkist Premium, we are disappointed that others are excluded..Version: 8.22.0

Non Fiction ListeningEnjoy listening to how to spend my time wisely without getting distracted each day. Also enjoy learning about relationships and how to improve them. Find I can relax while listening - must be good for you..Version: 6.15.0

Only on Trial But Will Buy ....So I had heard about this application and service and thought I’d try it. The daily Blink as part of the freebie offer as ok, so I jumped into the free trial as a prelude to full membership. The ‘service’ is A brilliant idea and so we’ll executed. The “blinks” based on books I had read certainly did capture the core ideas within the texts. The ability to get an overview of the core ideas of other books will prove to be an invaluable resource to me in my work as a Mind Coach. To be able to access the Blink diet will serve as an appetiser for choosing the main course of books and writers I may wish to devour more of. Will be taking full membership at end of trial, six ‘books in’ and with a library of ‘to be read’ I’m looking forward to more inspiration and insight..Version: 5.3.6

Great way to read books and stay up with what you want to know!Been wanting to read more but just can’t seem to find the time, just read a whole book I’ve been curious about in less than 15mins! Amazing! It was succinct and covered everything I needed to know , well done Blinkist!.Version: 7.0.0

GreatJust a great app. Well worth it..Version: 7.8.0

Access to most books still locked despite upgrade to PremiumVery bad app, access to most bookstill locked despite upgrading to premium TWICE. Tried monthly subscription still no luck then tried yearly subscription. Emailed support and its been 24 hours and this issue is still unresolved. This is very disappointing. First apps that I ever experience that has this problem..Version: 4.5.3

Thank youI have been enjoying a free subscription to Blinkist for several months, which has allowed me 1 random ‘blink’ per day. I can’t quite afford the premium service, but the good people at Blinkist have offered all users a Premium Subscription for the month of April to promote health and well-being during these challenging times. It was always a great app - worthy of 5 stars. But this recent offer has encouraged me to write a review and encourage others to jump on board!.Version: 6.1.0

Essential reading (or listening)If your a fan of non fiction novels, you may well have seen many of the titles that are available on the Blinkist app. There are a number of books and I’ve been curious about but held off buying. Often these books have some good content but are packed out with non essential fluff. This is where blinkist comes into its own. Breaking the essence of the book down into ‘blinks’ has made getting through all these titles a joy and has saved me so much time. A great app for anyone who wants to learn..Version: 4.7.8

Doesn’t seem to work with new Apple iPhone 14Unfortunately doesn’t seem to work the new iPhone. Tried everything to reconnect but wants me to buy a new subscription. When I try that it says I’m already subscribed. Please fix as soon as possible.Version: 7.7.0

Blinkist rocks as an educator and time saverI love Blinkist. Books are summarised into awesome bite sized knowledge cookies that are easy to digest. If you want to delve deeper into the topic, you can then purchase the book that was summarised. Audio is a great subscription option to choose as you can be doing almost anything and still educate yourself. All for mere pennies a day. Enjoy!.Version: 4.0.1

Fantastic Summary App and MoreI’ve been a premium member of Blinkist since 2016 and absolutely love it. The book summaries are excellent, and the audio narration is recorded by real people rather than AI text to speech like many other apps. The book library is massive they also have an excellent range of ‘shortcasts’ which are Blinkists own range of excellent podcasts on a wide array of topics and insights. I’d love to see a few extra features to help organise libraries (tags / playlists etc) and perhaps a feature to help with knowledge retention and recall, but other than that it’s excellent and the price is very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the content..Version: 7.1.0

Great App for Discovering New Books5-Stars because the app works well and it does what it advertises. Also, customer support helped me resolve my hardware issue I was having (not due to their fault). Review: 15 minutes is too short of summary for an entire book, but it gives you a good idea about whether that book is an ideal read for you or not. I think I may prefer a 1-3 hour summary. A 1-3 hour “summary” may be short enough to listen in a day or two during commutes, but long enough to gain a better understanding about the true contents of the book. I switched over to audible because for me, I’d rather listening to a full book for 10 hours, than listen to a 15 minute synopsis..Version: 5.3.0

Love this app!As a senior in high school, this app is perfect for me as I can read a free blink every day and it only takes a few minutes. I always look forward to what I’ll be reading each day, due to the variety in selections and the relevance and currency they have within what’s happening in the world as well as timeless, interesting perspectives on subjects such as stress. Seriously...love...this...app!!!.Version: 4.11.0

User for lifeThanks to blinkist I have the perfect micro learning tool, it’s encouraged me to learn daily! All aspects of my life I can dive deeper into without spending an insane amount on books and courses. I’ve even purchased a few books thanks to the app. Their writers are talented and convey the key takeaways of the books covered while still delivering the hard-hitting moments you would likely get reading the full book yourself. Their suggestions are great, ability to read if you don’t want to listen and you can consume a great amount of information in a short period of time. I don’t think I’ve come across a narrator voice I didn’t like. The app itself is minimalistic and easy to navigate. Subjects and authors are endless. I think my favourite feature would be when someone like an artist or someone in a career field creates a playlist of blinks to listen to that tie ideas together. Love it! A free trial will have you hooked..Version: 8.24.2

Good but need more optionsWhen I signed in I was only given the option of buying a yearly membership. I would rather if the service was offered weekly or monthly, so that I could use it during periods where I had the time to read. (Like during my holidays or after my current work project finishes) I’d really like a user pays service so that I don’t have to subscribe to an entire year, but just when I’m going to be using it..Version: 4.10.1

This is a top ten favourite appsThe decision to buy the subscription is one of the best decisions I ever made. I am in love with this app. It’s exactly what I need to absorb key information quickly, listen to something interesting, or get the key ideas from a book before I buy it so I can have a better understanding of if it’s what I’m looking for. Life changing!.Version: 4.7.6

The Genius Who Struggles to ReadI’m a member of Mensa, the society for the geniuses, but have a block when it comes to reading. Go figure! Growing up, I got by in school by reading Classics Illustrated, the comic book version of the great books. Now, couple my disability with the fact that I’m an information addict and you can see the challenge! Well, problem solved once I downloaded the Blinkist app. Now I can cruise through the highlights of “pages” of books whose ideas and stories are endlessly fulfilling. I’ve been listening as I walk and now walk about 20,000 steps a day! Lol. Get it…it’s an investment you won’t regret..Version: 7.0.0

The start to my dayI have been using Blinkist for about 3 months now - it is an essential part of my morning routine. I enjoy it as I read blinks of books that I would have never normally chosen for myself. It also provides inspiration to go onto read the original book. The App itself is easy to use and clearly laid out..Version: 4.7.0

EnrichedThe unbiased knowledge that I have gained on different topics, throughout this app is refreshing. The format of this app is very clever and a useful tool available to anyone, who has a passion for learning. This app when exposed to an open mind, puts the reader in a better place. Than before reading the blink. Thank you, who ever created this app, as it will help the betterment of humanity. God knows we need it now as never before..Version: 6.5.0

Great for people with ADHDI love this. Its essentially what people with ADHD have to do daily - try and focus on the key outtakes of something from all the waffle and flannel surrounding it. Which is immensely tiring. And then I stumbled on Blinkist. The book ‘Sapiens’ has been downloaded on my Kindle for ages and is one of the books I really wanted to read (and I read A LOT!), but I just hadn’t got round to it - parsing that much information and sifting through it to get to the key outtakes was an exhausting thought. But I listened to its Blinks while making breakfast this morning. And I could rewind any bits I realised my ADHD brain had suddenly switched off for! I’ve never written an app review before (and I’m a lifelong Apple user!), but I’m so excited by this app and its service I was prompted to do so. All that knowledge held in the palm of my hand and digested, quite literally, in a bitesize…who wouldn’t want that?!.Version: 7.11.1

Yes, get it!I’m finally getting caught up on all he titles I wish I could read. This app is awesome. The “blinks” are well written and embrace the message of the full versions of the books. I’m really enjoying broadening my knowledge and have found a couple titles I plan to read in full. Let me be clear, this app is not to review or sell books. It’s well written pages highlighting the important ideas in books. I was hesitant to purchase the yearly membership, but the week free trial convinced me, and I’m looking forward to diving into more titles. Thanks for offering this unique app for those of us who love to read and maybe don’t have quite the time to devote..Version: 4.7.1

Like reading books in a BLINK!Love the concise “Blinks” of books. Really saves me time reading entire books. Especially thankful for the audio versions of blinks too because I can listen while doing other things like eating my meals or on walks and so continue learning..Version: 6.2.0

If you love nonfiction, this app is your holy grail! The title says it all. The app has very simple user interface that’s fairly intuitive to navigate and contains a wide range of books (their summaries, to be exact) to choose from. The summaries are very well written and convey the core message rather well. Hats off to the developers for making this, its an excellent way to widen your knowledge if you’re busy and don’t have the time to read a full fledged book. Keep up the good work!.Version: 4.7.4

The bestI have to be honest here, I’ve tried a few of these apps and Blinkist is the best in so many directions. First they always are giving away a free book of the day; and it’s always on the subject of the day. During the Impeachment process the book was on impeachment, during COVID it was about viruses, and as the crisis with systematic racism moves to the forefront in the nation’s collective conversational consciousness, those are the books highlighted and free. You couldn’t find a better way to be well informed if you tried. If someone rates this less than 5 stars that’s just a picky person and not related to this app. Some people just can’t be happy. Even with an amazing app like this. Maybe they need a house plant. Or a hobby..Version: 6.5.0

Great appI’ve been enjoying this app but i wish it had a little more depth in the summaries. I’ve compared the summarised versions to the actual books I’ve read and I worry insights are not completely captured in the summaries. Also a feature that would be fantastic is text tracking with audio narration (similar to kindle) to engage both the auditory and visual inputs for greater memory and learning..Version: 7.6.0

The service is amazing. The app. Not so muchI like Blinkist. It changed my morning routine entirely. Now i get to listen to the main ideas of a book instead of listening to same old music i used to listen to on my way to work. It couldn’t get any better. As a service it’s amazing and well worth the money. But the app. It’s a whole other thing. It does not have any bugs. It works fine. But many of the functionalities are not easy to access. For instance downloading a blink is not easily done. ( i had to look for it. Then i found out i should play a blink. Then change it in play list then i can download it. Just why?) or the fact that I cannot play a blink and browse the app. It’s just not possible. All these functionalities are implemented but poorly. That’s the only thing keeping this app from 5 stars.Version: 5.3.2

Love it!!I love this app so much started a monthly subscription so as to see how much I use it! I love the recommendations of books for me very reflective of my likes! I do like reading or listening to snippets of information to see wether the book is one I would like to read in entirety. Some I haven’t loved so know need to waste precious time and read the whole book. Others after reading the blinks wanted more, so purchased it! I have audible also but I love how tailored it is and how much more I am reading about a range of topics rather than getting stuck on one book and then losing interest in it and then reading! Highly recommend! Bought my mum a subscription too! Highly recommend! Quite addictive!.Version: 6.36.0

Finally a way to read the books I want in the time I haveI love reading. I’m also neurodivergent. I tend to get overwhelmed by large books, especially self help books because I don’t know if I’ll have time to get through the whole thing. This app solved two problems. It’s allowed me to read the books I want to read and get the takeaways I want to get with the time I have. It’s also allowed me to improve my relationship with my phone. Instead of scrolling through social media, I can now improve my mind and get back to work feeling motivated and not dragged down. I really appreciate this app. I’d love a wider selection of books about science or history, but as someone who really loves reading about self improvement, there’s more than enough here to keep me engaged. Big thanks to the whole Blinkist team for reading all these books and giving good notes on them..Version: 7.9.1

Saved items auto save text but not audioI saved 63 items and I was trying to download them all for my travel on my iPad so I could read them on the plane. The audio is cool but I’m a faster reader and like the highlight option. I didn’t realize that the text is automatically saved when I save the item! This is an amazing feature that I recommend Blinkist call out. (Maybe a “text saved” icon vs “audio saved” option?) Audio download wise, I tried download one item at a time without issue. Trying to download multiple items at a time fails 90% of the time. Trying to download all the items at the same time fails 100% of the time..Version: 7.11.1

Needs more books but overall a great appI’ve been using Blinklist for about 3 weeks now, and in my short time using this app, I don’t have many criticisms. As an avid book reader myself, sometimes its hard to find the motivation to read one. Some unfortunately just drone on and on, without presenting the underlying message in a easily digestible manner. This app provides a shortcut for users who simply just don’t have the time and or patience to sit and read for hours on end. The book summaries, provide it users with the authors main points, and while relatively short, are quite insightful. If I had one criticism with this app, it’s that it NEEDS MORE BOOKS! The content of the app is encompasses a lot of subjects, but at times seems “limited” in quantity. (I use that word sparingly). Overall I think that blinklist has the potential to be a groundbreaking app, but the developers need to refine it more and add a lot more content. In conclusion, it’s a great app, totally recommend!.Version: 6.3.0

Blinkist gives me a wide range of choicesI do love reading real books, but sometimes I just can’t commit to plow through 500 pages. A Blinkist version gives me a strong sense of what the book is like, and if I really am motivated, I can go back and actually read the original. Otherwise I’m fine just reading summaries. I am able to become familiar with the contents of books that I would otherwise never bother to open. I even read blinks of books that I actually have read just to see how good the summaries are. They are as good as you can squeeze in to 20 or 25 minutes. I do wish that sometimes they would give a deeper treatment to some titles, maybe make them 50 minutes or an hour to read..Version: 8.17.0

Perfect blend of an audiobook, spark notes and a podcast! This app is amazing. It’s the perfect blend of an audiobook, spark notes, and a podcast. I have already recommended it to a number of my friends and family. I work in a time intensive role and used to love reading and constant learning, specifically nonfiction. I’ve found audiobooks are great - but I don’t have much time or attention to dedicate (and sometimes I want to drive and workout in silence to decompress). Then podcasts have a lot of extra ‘fluff’ sometimes. Blinklist gets down to the points in a concise manner, just like our favorite spark notes growing up. I love walking away with new information and insights with only ~15 minutes spent. It’s definitely worth the price. The only downside is it doesn’t have an Apple Watch app version. I’d love to be able to download to my watch and listen while out for runs/walks without having to bring my phone..Version: 6.8.0

For the curiousGreat if you’re a human who craves knowledge, and enjoys expanding your horizon..Version: 4.7.3

Best app everI would just want to give my truly thanks.. this app has been simply amazing and allowed me to grow so much.. I am not a reader but having all these book summaries in just one place gave me the huge power of knowing about all these topics...Version: 4.9.0

Love it!It’s awesome to get these bite sized chunks of info each day. Not too overwhelming, full of actionable advice and a whole range of topics that I’d probably never look into myself. I honestly feel Blink is helping me grow as a person, one step at a time. I get so excited to see which Blink is being offered as the free Blink of the day and it energises my drive home..Version: 6.31.0

Fantastic Concept, App Needs WorkI love this idea. A lot of nonfiction books can be distilled down to some key concepts. This is a way to gain a lot of information and ideas efficiently. The narration is good and I like that there is both written and audio options. My main frustration 2 days in is that I cannot figure out how to manage the order of my playlist. I would like to be able to prioritize the order of listening. It would also be nice to manage different playlists, so I can shift between topics. Overall I think the product is worthwhile, I would just love to see this improvement. The other feature I would like is to add notes about individual books. There is an option to highlight. That’s good if you are reading the printed version, but not as great for audio. Just a small text box for a few take away would be nice. Looking at other reviews, there are a lot of complaints about getting tricked into an annual trial. I am in a trial period and recall the charge and timeframe being clearly explained when I signed up. Maybe this is a new process in response. In any case, I don’t feel like it is in an intentional scam. The price seems fair for an annual- if you actually use the the product..Version: 8.20.0

Best App on the Market!I put off downloading Blinkist for years because I thought it was too expensive. But, they have a FREE book each day and sometimes do free books in a topic, so my concern was irrelevant and I missed out on years of learning! Don’t make the same mistake I did and hold off on downloading this. If you like to learn, listen or read, this app is a must. I don’t work for them, just in ❤️ with this app, recommending it to all my friends and now on here. First time I’m ever writing an app review, it’s so good! Wasn’t even prompted. Thanks Blinkist for everything you’re doing, please don’t change your pricing and make me regret writing this!.Version: 6.6.0

First time listenersA real time saver and brilliantly summaries on the key note from the books. Importantly though if you want read the full book for more deep and wider info so you can learn more this make it easier to make that decision moving forward to do that..Version: 6.22.1

I have a list of 100’s of books to read and this saves me so much time…Now, you might think that Blinkist has replaced reading books in their entirety for me. If you thought this, you would be wrong. I do not consider reading a blink (Blinkist summary of a book) to have a read a book. I also don’t use Blinkist to be able to post on social media that I read 50 books in a month. Just like any tool, it serves a purpose and you have to know what that purpose is. I read books to be able to input knowledge, frameworks, principles, and be able to quickly and consistently implement those into my life. Blinkist is amazing for this! I have a list of hundreds of amazing books that I would like to read that will probably change the way I think, feel, and act. I can read a Blink, quickly understand the framework and implement it in my life. But, Blinkist serves another very useful, time saving purpose… It allows me to very quickly get an idea of whether reading a book in its entirety would be worth my time for the depth of insight and knowledge it would provide. I use it as a filter to quickly weed out books that are not worth my time, so I can have time to read the books where every sentence deserves my attention regardless of how long it takes me. This is why Blinkist is amazing!.Version: 8.3.0

No words to express!!Great app as I can read one condensed book everyday for free!!!!.Version: 5.1.0

OutstandingLike many other people I’ve never considered or written a review, I’ve felt it would be a waste of time and as this particular app has many why should I. As I’ve continued to use this app I’ve have been overwhelmed by the information that it has given me and shaped me as a person. As a results I felt compelled to write this review and simply tell you to subscribe. We all have spare minutes in our lives use those minutes to read / listen to something in this app and they won’t be wasted..Version: 5.2.0

Longer blinks needed!Very good idea and one I’ve long had in my head, but am now pleased to see someone has done! Perfect for me, who loves non fiction esp business and management books, running my own company. BUT, and this may sound odd, but the blinks are too short overall (15 Mins/ 8-10 “slides”). Basically full length books are too long if you’re busy, but have all the rich material in. Blinks are much quicker but not as rich and miss a lot of the “extra” stuff out. I think a middle ground is needed- maybe 30 Mins/double the blinks? Imagine the extra you could get across in that, more storytelling etc, but still a timesaver. As I finished a set of blinks in realistically 5 Mins I found myself thinking every time/ “great but that’s TOO short- it could be longer and still a time saver!”- would be much better overall..Version: 4.7.1

Perfect for people with little timeThis is my first review on the App Store, because I usually don’t write any. After using Blinkist for almost a year now and being very happy, I thought they deserve good feedback. I think the subscription to this is totally worth it. I am often interested in books and start reading them, but because I have little time next to my job, I then struggle to actually finish them. This is perfect for me, because I get the gist of a book within 15-30 min, which is often all I want. With the audio feature I can even listen to the Blinks while going somewhere. I kind of enjoy the listening function more anyways, because the readers do an amazing job at telling the stories in an entertaining and catching way. I can’t say much about how much Blinkist adds to the summary of the books based on their own opinion, but it sounds like it‘s kept very impartial. I will definitely extend my subscription for another year. Keep up the good work!.Version: 4.11.2

Great for time poor readers.I'm enjoying reading the key points and highlights of a diverse range of books on Blinkist. I've learned so much without having to read many pages of the book. I'd rather read other books all the way through - such as fiction - although there are some books I'll probably read in full, now that I've read the key points on Blinkist. The only thing I'd like to change is the American voices reading the points. I find them a little annoying at times. Maybe it's because I don't live in America. (Sorry to any Americans out there!)..Version: 4.7.11

Simple summary on things that matter!I love this app! I’ve just downloaded it and listen to it while cooking or at the gym. At first, I was a bit unsure but I’m totally into it now. I’ve actually just paid for the annual subscription... What I most like is that I can learn and hear about different things whilst doing other daily mechanical tasks. It saves me time on having to sit and read. I’m not saying that reading is bad but having a summary is just efficient and practical... at least for me. ;).Version: 6.29.0

PandemicVery informative. Thinking about origins and the chain of infection I developed thoughts relative to vectors within vectors. Almost sure SARS 2 would not have spread exponentially worldwide without air travel both internationally and across borders. It might be interesting to trace infected cases by traveled routes of origin and destination points and overlay on maps. This would give a new meaning to the phrase “fear of flying”. Cruise ships have long had problems before SARs2. Similar to confined spaces on airplanes only thousand instead of hundreds in close proximity with vectors disembarking and reembarking at several ports of call. This is scary. Control of vectors with international ground stops and docking and quarantining cruise ships and vectors might give timely preventive intervention to trace the source and slow the spread..Version: 6.0.0

How have I not found this sooner????For all of you who learns best through reading - but find yourself not having the time to digest one whole book, omg this will change your life!! I have always found an aha moment in every blink I've read- it's that powerful!.Version: 6.44.0

My favourite subscription appObsessed with this app. It’s liberating. I’m a working mother of 2 preschool children and as much as I would love to have time to read books, I just don’t. Even audio books can be hard work to focus on for hours. I only have 20min pockets of time to focus on listening to something and this makes Blinkist audio just perfect. I consumed 30 books in my first month. I also normally find books a bit wordy just to fill up the pages and create perceived value without adding value, so having the books summarised to the points that are key take aways that you’d remember anyway is just perfect..Version: 6.39.0

Great way to spend some time - needs another feature.I love Blinkist and can’t fault its general idea or operation. There is, however, something I’d love to see as a new feature: A marking next to a Blink (in the library) showing which ones I have sent to Kindle and also an option to remove them from the app if I have sent them to my Kindle. With this it would be a 6 star review (although that requires another feature in the App Store :)). Great app..Version: 6.5.0

It is a good app, but....I love the idea- I just wish it was free! With everything you have to pay for nowadays from bills to petrol, I don’t think that reading a book should be one of them. It’s a great website, love the layout and great content, don’t get me wrong! I just think that it would be more successful if it was free OR at least have more free book options. Cheers Imogen.Version: 4.7.7

Best sleep aid ever. My top recommendable appThis app I highly recommend to all friend and family. I am using it as a non paying subscriber, so only have access to one story per day (usually topical, sometimes random) what I love the most is that they can be AUDIOBOOKS as well!? (Took me around 3 months to work this out!?) and the narrators are much improved over the time I have used the app. This app is for you if a) you’re reluctant to start a book as you know you won’t finish it b) you struggle to fall asleep...it’s a double whammy on this one...if it’s boring it’ll send you to sleep and if it’s of interest it’s a good half hour to unwind to. c) if you love to stimulate the brain cells with a bit more knowledge. Thanks Blinkist 😊.Version: 6.1.0

Great Customer ServiceI downloaded the app as part of the 7 day free trial I signed up for. The app works great and the product is exactly as advertised. I just won’t use it enough to justify the subscription, and surely enough, I forgot to cancel in time and was charged for the year. I sent an email to customer support and they quickly canceled my subscription and refunded my money no questions asked. I am giving them 5 stars and definitely considering subscribing in the future. I’ve had so many bad experiences from companies acting deceptively and inconveniencing refunds to squeeze out pennies that I wanted to give them a shout out. Great company..Version: 8.12.1

Skeptical but very surprisedVery good, I didn’t think that it would be possible to summarise a book in this way! But it is! I love it! I have no time to read and learn with the kids and work and everything else I need to do and this evening I’ve effectively ‘listened’ to a book in 15 minutes! 💪 if I had to have read the whole thing l’d be writing the book review in a year or perhaps never! I don’t think I’ll be cancelling my subscription after the 7 day free trial! Thank you Blinkist!.Version: 6.25.0

Overall nice appEven the free edition allowed me to pick up a good habit of listening to one short summary of book a day. Sometimes the summaries are not the best (bit dull) not sure if it is because of the book or narrator, and other times there are amazing summaries. However recently the app has been buggy and the daily free blink won’t display or play, or would stop half way while playing and not load anymore. Hope the developers can look into this. Anyway, i have definitely already recommended this app to many friends, its a great medication app..Version: 6.46.0

Readers digest of our timesSome interesting summaries , reminds me of the readers digest which arrived in faux leather monthly volumes back in the Olden days 1980s! Like most things these days the blinks are much shorter book summaries designed for the for a generation with attention deficits who consume bite sized information . I like the app but like sweets they taste good at the time but don’t provide the depth or satisfaction or nutrition of reading the full book. I will keep reading the daily free blinks as preferable to scrolling through depressing news articles or mindless social media posts..Version: 6.36.0

Limited source by anguageI enjoy the concept, seem book are limited to original language of publication. So far all title where publish in English by English speaker Good book translated from other languages should be consider..Version: 7.11.1

Highly recommendBefore I download the app, I was reading a few reviews and I saw a few negative ones. For this reason, I have decided to write a review. I never write reviews but this app deserves the exception. A complete app with meaningful information. An app with the possibility to read and listen accurate blinks. What I like to do is read the blink in the morning and listen the audio at night; getting the full context of the blink is key to increase knowledge. Perhaps, reading the full book will give you a deeper understanding; however, the blinks will give you key insight in short period of time. I would like to say thank you for those that crear the app. I am a very active reader. In fact, I read around 3 books per month; now, I can consume one book per day. Great app, I love it!.Version: 6.1.0

Brilliant AppI’ve been a member for a couple of years now and have not run out of content. Blinkist doesn’t replace books but certainly helps select which ones are worth reading. People will think you’re much better read than you actually are but shhhhhhh... I won’t tell if you don’t! For the future, I would love more books in an English accent. As a Brit, I just find retention is slightly better in familiar accents!.Version: 6.2.0

Blinkist-Great Product!Blinkist is a supporter of a Podcast I listen to so I tried it. I’ve been reading Blinkist “Blinks” for a little over a week now. Already it is clear that I am better informed about a whole range of issues. I’ve actually read Blinks from some books I already read and found the accounts to be highly accurate. The premium version allows me to send Blinks to my Kindle. This is highly valuable for avoiding eye fatigue from reading the iPhone screen. Blinkist has enabled me to read eleven books I would not ordinarily have time to read. A Blinkist typically takes between 10 and 20 minutes to read. If you are curious by nature, get Blinkist. Highly recommended!!.Version: 6.51.0

Best app ever. Full stop. This app has helped me in both my personal and working life. Not only is my brain full of meaningful life changing knowledge which helps guide me towards self improvement on the daily - but it also has helped me impress bosses and colleagues, validating my expertise in a myriad of fields. The app even motivates me on a daily basis - injecting energy into my mornings. I wouldn’t be without it! Now just have to work out a way to not be an irritating know-it-all 😂 thanks blinkist!!.Version: 4.7.5

Great content but system/app can improveLove the content, but app can improve: - My Library doesn’t sync between devices - I have lost some saved items when switching to a different device. - Download often stops for no reason and downloaded content also often disappeared..Version: 8.20.0

Missing featureThe app is great and there’s a good collection of books. The only problem I have which I’m surprised has not been added yet, is the ability to save a collection to your library rather than having to save the individual books of a collection. Since it’s easy to add a lot of books to your library it’s sometimes difficult to trace back as to which books belong to a collection. At the moment I’m having to go to the search bar to search the collection so I can see what book to listen to next from the collection. This is both annoying and time consuming. Please add a feature to be able to save a collection as a collection to your library. Thank you..Version: 8.23.0

I’m “reading” 2-3 books a dayI love the idea and the execution. The narrators are engaging and the blinks get to the core concepts fast. There’s also some music and sound effects here and there that help you keep entertained and even push the story forward. What I like about Blinkist is that I can listen to a whole book on my way to the swimming pool and to another one on my way back! I would love though a feature to highlight or search words from books I’ve listened to, and to have links to a full store where I could buy the full books for books that have enticed me, but that I want to read in their entirety. Overall, fantastic job!!!.Version: 6.55.0

Best subscription ever!I love this app. Love this subscription. All those interesting titles that catch your attention, capture your imagination, but you know you’ll never have time to read in their entirety. Read or listen (great if you spend a lot of time in vehicles), you’ll find yourself looking forward to your next blink!.Version: 5.0.0

Good appIt’s a great project - let’s me listen to books while waiting for son at karate. Each his class means, I can listen to couple books. Four books a week is a great result..Version: 7.10.0

I love this app, but I wish there were more languagesI think this app is wonderful in that it allows for you to be introduced to a variety of books in greater detail than you would normally be if you were to just read the synopsis/summary blurb on the inside cover. I also love the fact that it has options in English and in German— it’s great for those who are bilingual in those two languages if you select either German or English language options in the settings. What I wish the app did have, though, were more language options for us who are polyglots or who want to get better at listening to other languages. So maybe introducing other languages such as French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Korean, etc. I think would make this app better..Version: 6.34.0

Great app supported by AMAZING customer service!Blinkist is a fantastic app. By far the most detailed and accurate blinks (summaries) of some fantastic non fiction titles. The library grows every day and has intuitive suggestions after you have listened to a book. The audio is clear and precise - no important points are missed. Even more amazing than the app (if you can believe it!) is the customer service team. I recently had a payment query for them and Colin and Stefanie from Blinkist Support replied within minutes to each of my emails and resolved all of my queries. Fast, friendly and professional. If only all customer services teams were the same. Thank you Colin and Stefanie!.Version: 4.7.5

Absolutely love it!I was put onto Blinkist by a friend of mine and WOW! I honesty couldn’t thank him enough, it really has allowed me to synthesise information and learn far more efficiently than before. Obviously, reading a book from cover to cover is the best way to maximise your understanding of the material it’s just not feasible sometimes in this day and age with work, gym, the family, social responsibilities, etc. Having Blinkist really gives me a short, reliable and enjoyable avenue to keep learning daily! I love it!.Version: 5.3.0

Don't Waste Your Time With Podcasts & Reading Entire BooksIf you're an intelligent and a "motivated-lazy" millennial (like me), you're probably familiar CliffsNotes from life in academia. Why waste your precious will power in astute reading comprehension on literature read by thousands? Some gotta be better at it than you (despite you scoring 780 in it on your SAT) and have shared their findings. Here's what you've tried so far: *Searched Audible for book summaries from sketchy companies (where ironically English is their second language). *Tried Medium post summaries. *Followed those self-help gurus that rehash established material in their podcasts only to deceive you. These podcasts are actually made up of 30% sales talk about their sponsor and/or their products and 50% about their guest and 20% about the material in their podcast's title. It's a for-profit show, not PBS. Let's be honest with yourself. None of the above options helped you or made good use of your attention and time. Blinkist makes good use of your time and makes you think. Oh but I have to pay them! The horror! Well tally up all the time you wasted on your attempts to get here over the past year or two and multiply that by your hourly rate. Can you afford Blinkist now? Bet you can and a gift subscription or two! Don't fall for the free stuff - you get what you pay for! Class dismissed!.Version: 6.26.1

SapiensI started reading the physical book a couple of years ago. I put it done and never got back to picking it up again . What a wonderful tool Blinkist is to extract the main ideas of such books . I now have a better chance of keeping pace with the latest & not so latest ideas. Even though I am retired I find that I am short on time to read. This app wil certainty mitigate that problem for me. Thanks guys.Version: 7.0.0

Emotional IntelligenceHaving the control in your mind to react with rationale helps behaviour towards others..Version: 6.29.0

Powerful educational toolI was drawn to blink through a love of reading non fiction combined with little time to delve into many topics. Blink does a fantastic job of making accessible a great number of non fiction texts and summarises them really effectively. Personally, I think the subscription is well worth the money; I’ve read over 30 ‘books’ so far in the app with many more on my list to go. The reason I haven’t rated 5 stars is because I’d like to see a greater emphasis on science non fiction and philosophy compared with business strategy type books. Whilst I understand the initial target audience for blink was aspiring CEO types, I think the scope is much broader than that now. I’m not really interested in the more business focussed books so I’d like to see the other genres expanded so I can keep reading!.Version: 6.23.0

Speed reading plusWhat a great way to get my fix of inspiration each morning. Great summaries of books I'd love to read but would never find the time. Now, as part of my morning ritual, I get a boost of motivation, inspiration, business insights and whatever else I choose to catch some 'blinks' of. Loving it..Version: 3.4.2

Liked it!I enjoyed the 7 day trial, but unfortunately I cancelled as it appears the only option is an annual subscription for Canadian users. If there were a monthly option I would pursue it further..Version: 4.7.11

Learning machineThis is the proper way to read non fiction. Because we only take in a small portion of what we read, we often need to re-read books in order to absorb the full contents. With Blinkist I now find that a realistic goal. Also, Blinkist removes the risk of buying the full version of a bad book and then feeling like you have to finish it in order to get your money's worth..Version: 2.3.0

There is always timeIf you want to expand your knowledge and get inspiration but are juggling too much there is always time for a Blinkist. I have just picked them up again. I highly recommend them for anyone with a busy life or an inability to choose what to watch on Netflix where there is so much choice that the contents page is pretty much where you’re at after an hour and half of scrolling (or at least if you’re like me and you had ADH...? What was I talking about?!) 😆.Version: 5.0.0

Essential information and new perspectivesFinding the time to read, let alone digest and ponder in depth subject matter, is truly tricky when you have young children. Even before they came along, I often found myself rereading passages a number of times before understanding the gist, assuming I remembered which pages the important nuggets were found on. Blinkist solves these issues. Complex themes are whittled down to essential points. It’s simple to jump back to a chapter and reexamine them. If you feel as if the summary doesn’t tell the whole story, go buy the book..Version: 8.26.0

Becoming EnlightenedWonderful to have so many ideas, views, and knowledge at my fingertips. I find myself stopping the blinks and taking notes. These are books that I wouldn’t normally purchase because I could not afford them monetarily or time wise (not enough time to read). Probably the most important thing I have learned this past year plus has been to listen to people whose opinion differs from mine. I am learning why they have their beliefs. That they have them for many different reasons. You know we all are just trying to find meaning in our lives. We are trying to understand the world. Just like everyone else who has been alive. I also will purchase a book whose blinks I have listened to if I want to go deeper. Thank you for adding meaning to my life! I usually listen when I am doing something else like cleaning or cooking..Version: 6.42.1

Audio issues and blinks and concepts sometimes don’t alignI’m enjoying the app but I’ve had some issues with audio. I’ve found sometimes a blink will stop playing halfway through and just go silent. It looks like it’s still playing but there’s no audio. I have to scrub the audio and it re-caches and continues playing. Another issue I’m having is when blinks are in a playlist (example the Elon Musk one). Personally I’d rather all of the links to keep playing one after another but they seem to stop at the end of each book. Lastly I’ve found some of the blinks are either too short or the key concept at the end of each blink doesn’t make sense with the edited chapter of the book. Some more work needs to go into this..Version: 6.45.0

One of the best apps in the worldLiterally my favourite app. I get to read a few books every day!.Version: 4.12.1

Brilliant BlinkistI use the free version. Every morning I look forward to listening to a new book over coffee. I really enjoy the variety of books so far and find getting the key points really interesting and if I want explore further I know the book to get. Easy to use. Great stuff!.Version: 4.4.5

Convenient tastersIt’s great to read from Blinkist. If I want to buy the whole book after reading the short version I can. I enjoy reading whole books and savouring the process and also enjoy having a solid idea of what the book is about before purchasing. It’s like going to the bookshop and browse reading before buying..Version: 4.7.2

It’s blinking greatBlinkist is amazing. It made me love reading again.Version: 6.36.0

Highly recommend download!I’ve always loved reading and learning new things, but with today’s busy life I don’t really get the chance to read as much as I’d like. This app was recommended to me so I thought I’d give it ago. The first few hours into the free trial I love it! I prefer reading my books but having them as 15 minute audio books is fantastic. I’m able to do my work, drive, cook and listen to all these fantastic books hitting the key points of the book. If you don’t like listening to the books you can read summarised versions of them. The best part is, once you pay for your membership you don’t have to pay for each book you download!.Version: 4.8.1

Useful for those with limited timeBefore fully commuting to reading a lengthy book, to remind myself of a book I read long ago, or even to get more knowledge into my head in a short space of time- this app makes things a lot easier. The short reads are exactly that, and especially useful in time with there are so many options for attaining knowledge..Version: 6.31.0

Love it!Blinkist offers me time to go through the important parts of a book (I tend to wander and have difficulty focusing understanding books when authors tend to overdo) It also gives me enough idea whether or not I should purchase the whole book version or not. I like the other contents that are added: the motivational snippets, interview of notable people who I am not familiar with. It is easy to use. I like the fact that I can choose between reading or listening to it. The price I paid is reasonable to what I get fr the app. I just wish I could figure out how to repeat a a part of the book (or a chapter blink) than repeating fr the very beginning of the book. If you are after novels to transport you somewhere else, this is not the app you would like to have..Version: 6.2.0

Adds to my life hugely! So pleased I have Blinkist - what a wonderful way to learn/explore so many subjects!.Version: 4.7.10

Excelente reading sourceSince I was born I found the habit or reading kind of stressful, and always that I tried to focus on reading it consume many of my energy. While using blinklist,I have enjoy each of everyone of the audiobooks that I have listened. Therefore I found this art of reading more like listening a movie. I recommend this app greatly to everyone and most,to how want to find any knowledge, and enjoy learning. There are thousands of books by any topic. If you are someone trying to making reading a habit and lack for some motivation or simply someone looking for specific information in short time, this is your app..Version: 6.19.0

Here is a FANF - Fun A- Animates N- Nutritious Love how it fit the way I learn. Makes me hungry to know more. Keeps me humble because I realise how little I do actually know. Great way to review and pass on. Thank you Walter.Version: 6.30.0

Perfect bite sized book snacks between AudiblesI listen to an Audible book 3-9 times a week and alternate between fiction and nonfiction. Sometimes I am traveling or have business meetings or jet lag and cannot keep the attention and focus to keep 20 characters or dates or concepts in my mind. By playing Blinkist books at 2x normal speed I can squeeze in a book while standing in line, riding in an Uber or as a bedtime story. These short and predictable burst are nice complements and I can always buy the Audible version if I like what hear on the Blinkist version. I also like the 3rd person referring to the author. Listening to so many audiobooks, I get weary of hearing the personal pronoun “I...I...I...” hundreds of times a week. I just want the information, not to be the author or be forced to see through his or her eyes, especially when the author is a whiner or complainer or bragger. There is a cool dispassionate neutrality to the Blinkist summaries. So, I’m a happy customer and hope my friends all sign up and raise the number of books they absorb the key messages of by one or two orders of magnitude per year..Version: 5.1.0

Great way to read the main ideas from all the non-fiction books I want to readI mainly use blinkist to decide which books I want to read completely. I would however like an easy way to export to OneNote as I prefer using that service to Evernote. Other than that one problem, this is one of the best apps I own, it makes reading nonfiction much more enjoyable. It also helps to select what books I want to read in full, so I no longer waste money on books I probably won’t complete..Version: 4.12.0

Great to preview books to read, and refresh ones read alreadyThe app is simple to use and with a UI focused on the content. The daily blinks and the Simplify podcasts are great sources of inspiration. Highlighting freezes the app on my iPad Air on iOS 11.4 every 3 or 4 attempts. Other than that it’s a great app. Totally worth the cost of the subscription even if you listen to a blink per week..Version: 4.7.6

So usefulLove being able to gain the concept and some context from these blinks. Generally enough to understand the authors ideas however if I need more depth I’ll buy the book. Has saved me a lot of money and provided some useful information on multiple subjects.Version: 4.7.2

Love the app❤️You guys are going to be a massive part of my journey to the peak of success.I really appreciate the blood and sweat of yours for this app.I would even more appreciate if you lower down the fees☺️✌️.Version: 5.1.0

Absolutely love how much you can get in such a short space of timeI often struggle to find the time to learn new things with a busy role and a busy personal life. Blinkist allows me to just take sometime and read something when I have a quiet 10 minutes. Listening to blinks whilst doing chores is another great way to learn more on the go. Love the recommended content once you have finished something..Version: 7.4.0

From 1-star to 5!I originally posted a review because I was charged on the app despite picking their trial period. I emailed them and I got a response within 2 hours. In that time I read 2 book summaries and already highlighted parts of my life that I want to improve, and set out the system to implement them. You can tell I read Atomic Habits by James Clear. So I decided to keep the subscription because reading does bring me a lot of joy but busy life doesn’t allow me to sit and read as often as I’d like. Blinkist allows me to take away the salient points and it’s app is easy to use too. One improvement I’d love is to be able to highlight and add your own notes. This would really elevate the app for me but already I’m loving it. Podcasts are fantastic especially when an author is on them but reading their content allows thoughts to turn into action as you have to sit and read as opposed to multitasking whilst listening. Fantastic app! Thanks again for your quick response!.Version: 6.34.0

Hate reading, love learning - perfectFor someone who hates reading but loves learning - Blinkist was made for me! All the books I’ve wanted to read but just couldn’t are summarised so well and give me just enough information to understand what the book is about & more... The audio version available with some books has changed my life! Thank you.Version: 4.7.5

Needs better filter-abilityLoving this product! I think it’s providing an invaluable service to people who don’t have enough time to read full books. However, what needs serious work is the filter possibilities for my added books. I need semantic and qualitative filters, like what subject areas the books belong to, what topics they cover, and/or how welled rated they are by readers. Blinkist tries to “solve” this by allowing for manual tagging, but this does me no favors if I’m looking for something to read and haven’t read any of my books yet. Moreover, the overhead of adding tags is cumbersome. A better UX, such as auto-tagging and/or tag suggestions on adding a book to your list, could alleviate the issue. Regardless, Blinkist needs to be “smarter.” For a service seeking to simplify reading tons of awesome content, Blinkist sure makes it overwhelming to ultimately choose your book from your own list..Version: 4.11.1

I love it because it’s better than no readingI always wanted to read some of these books but never found the time. Now this has become part of my routine I listen whilst walking the dog. It’s helping me massively! And provokes my thoughts on the subject matters. I told other people about it and now have a few that also use it too! One ask to the developers can you create a way to organise blinks so I can make my own playlists? I’ve saved loads and hard for me to go through to see what I want to listen to today.Version: 6.15.0

Better off getting an audiobook subscription...Traffic is not getting any better!! With an hour a day you can get an in depth understanding on the subjects your really interested in. While the app is very user friendly and has high production value, I feel the concept is wrong. Fifteen minutes might be enough for an update on the latest Hollywood gossip but this format only allows for a very superficial understanding of more complex and nuanced topics. Word of the day! Noun. pseudointellectual (plural pseudointellectuals) A person who claims proficiency in scholarly or artistic activities while lacking in-depth knowledge or critical understanding. By all means try it for yourself but set a reminder to cancel in time😉 “It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.” Mark Twain.Version: 5.4.0

I’m really liking this app so far…But I really wish there was a way to save collections in your library. Whenever I read the blinks of the first book in a certain collection, the collection then disappears from the home page and recommended, so I have to search for it again..Version: 7.1.0

Good ideaAfter hearing a few books it gets quite annoying to only have 1% of the book. Update 1 I think my review was unfair so I am updating it. Even though the blinks are short and only provide a brief snapshot of the whole book, wether summarised knowledge is more harmful then the full is for you to decide. I am inclined to say that the app can still be useful in many ways. For the amount I paid for a yearly subscription, to expect full book’s worth of knowledge for so many books is unreasonable. I believe the Blinkist team have put together a very good app, the interface is highly intuitive, the narrator's are pleasant to listen to, lots of bright minds have put in effort to summarise these books. I appreciate the highly talented people that were involved in making this artful, exciting experience that keeps on delivering..Version: 6.44.0

Great offeringReally enjoying Blinkist. I often get bogged down by trying to read books but this is a much better way to get a condensed version of books. Thank you!.Version: 4.7.0

Keep learning; Everybody wins!Easily part of my daily routine. Tonnes of fantastic content. There's so much to learn and enjoy. Absolutely worth using and sharing.I recommend this to everyone! It’s such a great way to learn something new every day..Version: 8.24.0

Good for many titlesI find Blinkist useful for some titles but not all. It is often a great way to preview or review a book. Brief, good audio quality, but for some titles the magic of the story is not captured. Overall worth it..Version: 8.26.0

Blinklist. Have been waiting for help like this for years. This app gives succinct summary of books, which helps to decide whether to read the whole book, or move on to the next. For people like me, who think I don’t have time every day to read a book, this is perfect. I can still read the book, if I want to. Very enjoyable for me, as at last I can read, without feeling I should be doing something else. Well done Blinklist..Version: 4.11.2

Like Speed Reading But BetterThere are Samantha books on my to-read list that I'm probably never gonna get round to reading. This app is perfect for those spare gaps in your day – instead of wasting it scrolling your Facebook newsfeed you can actually learn and upskill yourself!.Version: 3.4.3

Good idea, good content, terrible CarPlayI love Blinkist, and have found many good books on it. I like the intro and summary added by the narrators. I like that you can request other books be added, although this could be improved by linking to a wider source. The biggest problem, and my reason for not continuing my subscription, is the terrible CarPlay experience. Listening in the car is when I usually have the most time. Using CarPlay, Blinkist stops after most blinks, requiring the phone to be unlocked and the app brought to the foreground, go to the now playing screen and play or advance to the next blink. You can’t do that while driving! Also sometimes stops sending audio - the play progress keeps advancing but no audio until the app is forced closed and reopened (s in the car). Once CarPlay is fixed, this will be a great service..Version: 6.54.0

So good, so much potentialThe content and the wisdom that I’ve been finding in the blinks have been indispensable. I I love the power behind the brevity of the contents, but the downside is that you can go through so many of these blinks that some of the lessons can be forgotten. It would be great if there was more interactivity or actions and follow ups, that can be taken over the course of time. I do most of these while out for a walk, and I would love if there was a way to get reminders or notifications on follow up actions in the future. Even having something like workbooks or notes that could be collected as sort of like a personal library of notes, actions, highlights, or reminders..Version: 8.5.0

Would Have Been Five Stars But…Not enough female readers. There’s something a bit off putting about hearing a woman author’s work read by a man all the time. The book summaries are excellent and Blinkist is really worthwhile for anyone who reads a lot. I tried it out on a couple of books I know quite well first. I’m pleased I gave it a go and I’ll be going for the paid version. The missing gender balance thing is the only disappointment and I hope Blinkist can remedy it..Version: 7.10.0

Enjoyable ReadingBlinkist is a useful tool. There are countless books in the non-fiction genre I'd love to read but would never ever get around to or buy. Blinkist allows me to harvest key lessons without committing to a whole book. Be aware however, the voice or style of the original author is lost in summaries so Blinkist shouldn't replace a book you really really want to read. The app works well enough and appears to be in ongoing development. I would like to see a dark mode for iPhone X instead of the grey mode on offer. Overall no complaints..Version: 4.7.0

Super impressedVery well written books in abbreviated form. A great concept and great professional execution. Fairly priced. Also their customer service is possibly the nicest on the planet; gave me a refund for a payment I mistakenly made when the fault was mine. I've literally never encountered such an honourable and good willed corporation. Subscribe; it will allow you to keep your finger on the pulse with what is being written and read in modern non fiction, and to track down the best titles to read that you otherwise would have never known about!.Version: 8.8.0

Not as good as books, better than social mediaI keep Blinkist as an alternative to social media apps, and it is a great way to replace doomscrolling with something more constructive. UI is nice, and there is a reasonable selection, though I would like more art and music stuff. The Daily Blink recommendations are great too, but I had to disable notifications because the app regularly uses them to beg you to use social features, which got on my nerves after a while..Version: 8.24.0

Love the idea of learning a little each dayI struggle to find the time to read a book and this app has become a firm favourite. I can pick and choose subjects I’m interested in and get the highlights in the right amount of time. I also love the audio option, great for in the car. If, based on my level of interest I want to explore further I can always buy the book!.Version: 7.11.1

Why not a monthly subscription facility? The blinks/ book summaries are very good you can read them in 5-10 minutes and get a good understanding of the main emphasis of the book. I also find the final summary and actionable advice at the end of each book to be though provoking. It’s a shame that the authors don’t allow a monthly rather than just an annual subscription. My view is that they would get more subscribers if this were the case. An annual subscription is a big commitment. Once subscribed for a month however, because the blinks are so good and because of the choice available, readers are likely to continue their subscription month after months. It’s simply the psychology of the annual commitment that, certainly for me, is the problem. As a result, I subscribe to the free version and access the a random single blink each day, which is great, albeit I would prefer access to the full blink list!.Version: 4.7.1

Useful for a busy lifestyleReally useful way to get an idea of what the book means and then if you want the detail you can go and buy the book. However I think with some books the blinks could be a little more detailed and the summary briefer than needed. However overall an excellent to take in some more content whilst having a busy day or even in the car using the listening facility. One final comment is the listening option only has US accents, not that I mind the American accent (in fact I quite like it) but would like a British accent too!.Version: 4.10.1

FabulousEver pick up a book and think I’d love to read this but how am I going to find the time? Or make the time only to discover that it really isn’t giving you what you were looking for? I’ve just read so many blinks in this app and it has made it so much easier to find authors and content that I really relate to and want to explore further. I set aside time each day to read two or three blinks and it is really helping me shape my move into running my own business and improving my quality of life. I am now able to expose myself to many more authors and content effectively and expediently and choose those which are most beneficial for me. Love it..Version: 4.11.0

Perfect but it also has consIn the age of vast information and the “no time” culture, this app is amazing at dissecting the majority of book titles in 10-20min chunks. But it also has its cons. PROS: - I finally got to “listen” to books I’ve wanted to read for years - it opened me up to other books I’d not necessarily pick up but the short nature of these books makes it appealing - over the last 2 months (since joining), I finished 40 books which I’d not be able to do otherwise CONS: - Sometimes I listen to 4 books in a row which means all books sort of blend together and you can’t exactly recollect what author you’ve just listened to so if someone asked me if I’ve read a specific book I wouldn’t know for certain - Some titles are summarised better than others so some books are covered very vaguely and miss out on the key pieces of information (especially if you’ve read it before) - When you read the actual book, you spend more time with it and every chapter leaves a different impact on people - with Blinkist the titles are short subjective synopses so you sort of get what’s summarised in general rather than reading 100s of pages and pick your own favourites. Would I continue using it? Definitely. Did I learn more as a result of Blinkist? Definitely Should this app replace reading the actual books? Not at all, but I think it should be used in conjunction.Version: 6.22.1

Good but latest version no longer works until ….31 January : I was just about to update this review to say the app still does not work but thought I would delete and reinstall .. and now it works :) … so if anyone is having issues this action may be worth a shot! ——— Have been using for nearly year and is overall pretty good. Works well is simple and clear and above all adds value. Where the detail is not enough then I have enough information to make an informed decision about whether to order the full book or not. Great 👍 The problem I currently have is that latest version just does not work on my iPad. It was working before update and still works on my phone I have deleted and re installed and still just hangs up Hopefully will be quickly fixed.Version: 8.25.0

Practical and Thought ProvikingSome times you are so immersed in situations it hard to see past the immediate situation. The tips listed in this book provide a different perspective and really make you think about your own situation giving realistic and sound advice to start making positive and pro-active change . I really like the advice about keeping a gratitude journal! You don’t realize how good your life is until you mast a list and write it down. Things happen for a reason and sometimes you have to be flexible, adjust and go with the flow. Counting your blessings goes long way and learning to say “NO” is a good thing!.Version: 7.5.0
