1Password 7 • Password Manager for Negative User Reviews

Poor appLousy!!!! Complicated and doesn’t work the way they say it should!!!.Version: 7.4.4

Worst support I’ve seen in years - stay away!I've been a fan of 1Password for years, when I eventually decided to purchase the family package. As soon as I purchased it - the app stopped working. It kept crashing as soon as I tried to open it. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help. BUT this is not the worst part: being a developer myself, I contacted their support. They are only available by email, taking them few days to answer to each of my messages. They kept asking me to run tests, send reports etc. This been dragging for over a week, instead of a simple online session to gather all the info. When I asked them to setup a remote session - they refused. I've decided to cancel my subscription and look for a better product. Stay away!!.Version: 7.7

Getting GreedyMy family have been loyal users for many years both iMac and iPhone, but 1Password just lost my family as a customer with your new subscriptions. There are many good apps that do the same thing for less money! Sad you decided to get greedy :(.Version: 7.0.6

Today I cancel my subscription and happily return to my favourite free last password manager...About 5 months ago, after lots of web research, I switched 7 of my major apps with new ones. They all happen to be paid, subscription apps, because really good things are usually not free. I will be keeping all of them because I love them. With the exception — of this one. Today, I cancel my subscription and happily return to my favourite free last password manager. Coco the monkey can create a flat file database but in 2020 apps are beautiful and bridge aesthetics with utility. 1Password does neither. ⭐️ One star for good technical support. However, the absence of others for an underwhelming app with too many frustrations to make paying remotely worthwhile. The frustrations, in all fairness, mostly stem from inconsistencies filling passwords and general behaviour between different devices, as well as intermittent ghosting, where it’s like the app doesn’t exist. Filling fields is your calling, 1Password! Your raison d'etre! Do that, put a bit of magic into the Ux and I’ll probably be won back and might pay. For now, the discrepancy in the value of this, compared to the totally solid free password manager(s) options, is very hard to reconcile..Version: 7.6

Recent problems with iPad versionGenerally a very good product, and have found very reliable on the iPhone and PC however two recent problems with iPad version indicate that either they have taken their eye off the ball or are using unstable features of the apple IOS operating system. Or , worse, that on a critical product such as this the developers believe that broken and non viable product are all their customers need, First the iPad application refused to unlock a few days ago despite the right password, eventually cured by uninstall and reinstall. Luckily I had other devices with me. Today I see formatting errors on the iPad display with horizontal lines appearing. No other app I use is having these type of problem. I cannot remember when I last had to delete and reinstall an app other than 1Password. This is a critical product so should not be released with bugs like this. To paraphrase Oscar Wilde, two recent bugs indicates carelessness..Version: 7.5.2

What happened?I trusted you guys. Not the App is down on ios 14 and you don’t help me. I lost so many passwords and data. I won't ever trust your app again.Version: 7.7

Problematically FrustratingUPDATE This app continues to deteriorate on all platforms. It's now easier to cut and paste your passwords than use any of their extensions. I'm deleting their extensions from my browser because they just don't work. I've used the app for 10 years but am now actively looking for an alternative. --- Firstly, when you need a password on your iOS device it frustratingly doesn't give you access to all your password using their in app plugin, but only login entries, so if the data is in a secure note you have to exit the app your in and open the 1 Password app. Even the search only looks in login entries. How completely pointless. May as well delete the in app plugin Face recognition is so hit and miss. I spend half the time typing in my password because it simply doesn't work, even though it is set to on. Response to Developers I understand the difference. However, many times a login format is insufficient. My complaint is that the app plugin does allow me to access my database, but not all of it. This is most unhelpful. I need access to all my data, not just what you choose to allow..Version: 7.9.3

Update: Hangs when I try to unlock on iPad via already-connected Bluetooth keyboard1. Freshboot your iPad 2. Put iPad in landscape mode 3. First, connect Bluetooth keyboard 4. THEN, launch 1password 5. Now begin typing password on Bluetooth keyboard 6. The 1password app hangs at login screen..Version: 7.4.5

Password 1 use over the past 5 yearsI have waited to give a review as I like to test things - what is good is that you can link the database to the cloud and use the app across several devices (that’s what it is capable of) it is solid as an app and having looked into and used many different packages I would highly recommend this one as the best - I wish it would pick up all passwords automatically on my pad and phone so I do not have to rely on safari password. I find that sometimes I enter a password and because I have to jump out of the screen it changes the password or doesn’t keep it properly - or by the time I have navigated to the page I need a password for it has deleted the cache so I have to log in again but other than that I would say this app is what you are looking for if you need a password safe. Just found that it is impossible to set/save a password in passwords just keeps going to scan text or generate a password - I have created a password because non of the passwords generated will comply with the company that needs a new password and HEYHO it no worky! Downgrading stars as this should be an option if a password doesn’t work as an automatic action manual needs to be permitted as an over ride🫤.Version: 7.9.5

Another Subscription? Nope. The pricing is ridiculous. They must be friends with the makers of Fantastical. I’ve finally switched to Bitwarden and I couldn’t be happier. It’s way faster than 1Password and much more reasonably priced..Version: 7.5.2

Software chargesI purchased this app in dec 2013 with no monthly subscription. Now i try to use it, they are trying to bill me for monthly subscription. Why do i have to pay after purchased for 6 years? This is unacceptable. I still cannot open my file for 3 months. Need someone live to help me to open the file please!.Version: 7.4.3

Suckered meDownloaded this a few days back saying it was free to use with certain features requiring a subscription. When to start using it today and it costs $46 a year. Ridiculous..Version: 7.4.2

DisappointedBought & paid for this app years ago. Then they changed to a subscription model which I cannot justify the cost of when alternatives (and the original app) are free of subscriptions. I’ve stuck with 1Password thus far as they let us original supporters (who helped launch the business with our recommendations) co-exist with subscribers, but now the lure of monitising every user at all costs has got the better of them and they have started disabling features without notice for original non-subscribers. They offer to discount subscription for a brief time to get us on the hook for regular payments, but it still isn’t worth it and the subscription fees do not match the slow rate of feature addition. Thinking I’ll probably just cut my losses and go with the iOS native password manager. Sad to see another “customer focussed” company become greedy & fall by the wayside..Version: 7.9

They Have Ruined a Good Software — Don’t Buy!1Password used to work really well. I had it on all my devices and I use it for many years. I upgraded with every upgrade, and I always thought it went from strength to strength. And then I subscribed. They seem to be following a model that a lot of developers are following, but unfortunately they have actually destroyed the usefulness of their software in doing so. Suddenly none of the things it was famous for doing it could do anymore. It would not autofill password anymore. It would not let you access your passwords in the software anymore, without undergoing a hugely exhaustive security protocol which seems to be something new with the subscription version of the software. I have tried to deal with their customer service but they would not help me in a manner that was reasonable. They expected me to undergo a massive set of diagnostics and write to them for days, helping them to improve their software. In fact when I would tell them that something was seriously problematic, they would simply say thanks for the feedback and for helping us to improve our software. But they did nothing to help me or to fix it. I just had to cancel my account in the end. Huge shame, and goodbye to a wonderful product. It’s not the same anymore..Version: 7.3.6

Not worth itThere are better alternatives for cheaper. 1Password membership is TOO expensive for what it is!! I purchased the paid version of the iOS app a long time ago, hopping that it would allow me to sync between devices ( they really made it unclear so people would buy this ). Off course that was not the case and I ended up just leaving it for a while as I was furious. The password auto fill doesn’t work properly and sometimes seems to not remember my password!? This app only brought me frustration and I spent too many time trying to work around their clunky UI and greedy business decisions. Uninstalling and will probably never come back..Version: 7.6.1

Too difficult to useThe app seems powerful, but in the process they lost the basics. Since the idea of the app is to allow you to have different passwords for each website/app, you would think it would be easy to generate a random password, and tell a website that is your new password Instead, the app rarely recognizes that you are attempting to change your password on a website. It will do a fine job filling in your old password, but won’t recognize you’d like a new password and generate a new one for you. Even if you go into the app, there is no item “generate password”. You appear to have to create a second login for the same website to get a new password, copy that in the new password portion of the webpage, log out and then log back into the website to be sure the new password works (choosing which of the two logins is correct) and then delete the old login/password. To make it even more troublesome, it is likely that 1 password will ask you for your master password (hopefully a long and complicated one) multiple times during this process even if you are continuously doing things and it all happens within 5 minutes..Version: 7.7.1

It’s a bit clunky and rubbish.Only been the first two days and it’s not as smooth going as people lead you to believe. Already locked out of 7 accounts that it recommended I change my old weak password to a super complex one that it magics up. Then it doesn’t appear to log it so I can’t gain access by using passport and after certain number of tries I’m locked out of my own accounts! Also the app is annoying in that you have to keep logging back in again and again when it does grant access to your accounts, seriously strained my arm and hand muscles and have tension in my neck. Doesn’t predictively pre fill forms etc for you , the iCloud pass key did it all much better. Having this application annoys you so much that I feel I’ve aged. Also it should play a little noise or two during actions instead it’s mute like it’s too embarrassed to say anything..Version: 7.2.7

Worst app ever and I’m trappedThis is the worst piece of software I have ever used. Their idea of easy syncing is to do it through file sharing on iTunes! Speaking of syncing, when I have used Dropbox to sync, it replaced the new version on my phone with the old version from my iPad. I lost 3 months of passwords. I have tried to swap to another app in the past, but the instructions for exporting the file can’t be followed, because it says to unlock the app, select the vault you want, and then select File, but there is no File item or menu. Or at least none I could find in 45 minutes of looking. I am trapped with this app and have to pay $6 a month for something I hate..Version: 7.3.2

Outstanding Password SecurityI have spent more money on password managers than I care to admit. 1Password was not the last password manager that I purchased, but it is the one I keep returning to. I love the fact that I can add or change a password on my desktop/iPhone or iPad and the changes automatically sync to my other devices. The software is outstanding and the support when needed is outstanding. Don't waste your money trying a bunch of different password managers like I have. Buy 1Password and you won't be disappointed. 1Password 7 for Windows was recently released the software is good, the design is terrible and customer service leaves much to be desired. The developers thought it would be a good idea to have constant harassing messages telling you your password is weak or your website isn’t secure because it isn’t https://. When I commented that I didn’t appreciate the software being “nanny state software” nor did I appreciate constant “in your face harassing software”, I was belittled and insulted by “customer service” personnel on the user forum. 1Password used to be fairly good. Now I would avoid, and I would not recommend to anyone..Version: 7.0.6

The best password app no moreLong time user, I purchased this app early on. The main feature was security. The safe was stored locally only and therefore no concerns for cloud security. It costs a few bucks if I recall and that was a good value. The option to use cloud (iCloud, Dropbox, etc) was always an available feature...nice for users seeking to sync their password safe to other devices...but like many I prefer to keep it offline for security. I recently recommended this app to a friend but when they installed it, the option to purchase the app was no longer available. It is now a monthly subscription only. The option for local storage was removed. After some negative reviews, local storage was quietly returned as an feature, but the monthly subscription is still required. As an early adopter, I am apparently grandfathered in, but I have switched to another password app that stores locally by default. A shame, because this was once a five star app, hands down. Suggestion to developers: sell the app outright like you used to and store the database locally by default. For those users that do trust their passwords in the cloud, offer the sync service for an extra charge as an in app purchase..Version: 7.4.2

Great app but editing is terrible! This app is great for syncing your important data between your devices. But the editing is terrible! It was bad enough before the last update, but now it's nearly unusable. Previously you would have to hit the "edit" button to update unlike the Notes app. This was only a slight nuisance because it was difficult to enter anything in a specific spot in a longer file. Now it is nearly impossible to use because when you hit edit, it only shows you a tiny fraction ( perhaps two or three lines) of your entire file. This needs to be fixed to work more like the Notes app. Otherwise I may be forced to look for another password app. Update: 2 years later and they still haven’t fixed the lousy edit feature! I think I’m finally going to have to look for a new password manager, because now they’ve got new irritating problems. Sometimes now you can’t see the last line in your category until you hit edit, and the final straw was when I installed ios 11.1 and the app deleted itself and had to be reinstalled. I really don’t understand all the 5 star reviews. Curious, too, that these issues cropped up about the time they institute a subscription plan nobody really needs!.Version: 7.0

LoginsCurrently My Password is unusable to me. I have no idea how to get to my logins from what I have in front of me. I do not know why this view happens and I have no instructions on how to manage it. Normally I just put in my master password and the all my logins are there for me to access. When this current format happens I would struggle t rate the site with a one star! Please help.Version: 7.7.1

AgileBits kicks it’s loyal customers off bus no 7When AgileBits released version 7 of 1Password for macOS they decided to make it inaccessible to those who purchased the app originally. You now have to pay a monthly premium to use the latest version of the app. You have to pay this monthly premium even if you paid £50 for the standalone app. Your alternative is to continue using 1Password 6 which they have halted development on. This is a shocking and brutal back stab to all of us who supported 1Password from the beginning by paying an incredible premium for the standalone app. Multiples of 10 times more than 99% of all apps in the App Store. It is not unreasonable for any company to seek to profit. This is what all companies do and so should 1Password. However this is not what 1Password have done. What they have done is closer to fraud and it is certainly unethical and it is a hideous example of greed in the ugliest and purest of forms. I call 1Password to do the right thing and immediately upgrade all customers to the current version of 1Password if they paid up front for it. Update: There is no misunderstanding you have already emailed me to say even after paying £50, I now need to pay every month to continue using the latest version of 1Password. Please let’s not pull the wool over everyone’s eyes. If you were sorry as you claim to be, you would do what you know is fair and right..Version: 7.4.4

Not impressed with 1PASSWORD.I signed up for it yesterday, paid for it and now I cannot even get into it. Plus they tell me they do not have an account under my email. What kind of gimmick is this?.Version: 7.4.6

Was once stellar... now near sickening.I have used 1Password for years and purchased numerous upgrade licences (that never failed me). Sadly, they’ve switched to a “Membership” model which has brought me no end of troubles. I would gladly buy a stand-alone version — but they stopped offering that option. I use and prefer iCloud sync — yet now they still require a “Membership” account with their sync service. Twice I tried to move my three devices to it and lost ALL attachments, linked files, and got non-recoverable duplicates. It was an absolute nightmare. Support is responsive — yet they always seem infallible and blame all issues on operator error. They avoid any discussion of their painful subscription arrangement... it must be a constant irritation for them — as it is especially a pain for us customers. I’m on the hunt for an easier app to buy (admittedly, few have the feature-set of 1Password — hence my 2 star rating) — but I’ve suffered so much with their model.... I’m over it..Version: 7.7

Don’t trust 1Password, trust yourself. The idea of using a password manager which helps you remember and sync your passwords across devices may seem like a good idea at first. However, when you consider an attacker accessing your account now has access to all of your passwords, you will see the necessity of storing your passwords in an encrypted vault that only you have access to and is not available from any web browser. Just use Strongbox in local mode only. If you really need to, back the database file up to an external USB and store it in a safe. Trust yourself with your own data. Not a five eyes password manager. Edit: developer claims that data is end to end encrypted but the software cannot be reviewed. Be wary.Version: 7.4.6

Lock OutNot happy about being locked out until I pay a subscription fee..Version: 7.1.1

Works okay but not great1Password is good in most ways a password manager should be. Great for generating passwords, filling saved passwords, etc. Unfortunately it fails to maintain consistency across the different platforms. This leaves each app feeling unfamiliar and therefore hard to navigate. There are also several missing features on some platforms when compared to others. A unified system would go a long way with this service..Version: 7.7.3

This App StinksI hate to give bad ratings, but...I paid around $50 (yes!) to be able to access on pc and Mac and iOS. I have stuck with it because starting over would be a drag. But really...the functionality of this app is awful. You’re trying to add “notes” and the box won’t open (it keeps dropping down where you can’t get to it). If you don’t fill a sufficient # of boxes on a new entry it won’t let you save it. If you have a problem with accessing from another device or moving to a new device you end up with back and forth emails that go something like this “Hi. We love you. Update all of your devices and assemble them all in the same location and then email us back.” They just keep kicking the can back to you (no phone support). It’s unbelievably annoying. I just don’t even bother anymore. I just open and start a new password and put everything in the notes section (when I can get it to work-if you save and re-open it usually works the second time). And if you select the option to use your fingertip to open, it shows up on the screen and you have to tap that and THEN hit the home button. You can’t just go right to it. And sometimes it just randomly requires you to enter the actual password. I actually have my last two iPhones in a drawer because I’m terrified my passwords didn’t all move to the new device and I’ll be in trouble. Seriously, it shows I have like 314 passwords on the iPad version of the app and 322 in the iPhone version. Really?!.Version: 7.0.3

1Password7It is garbage!😡 I have wasted 30mins trying to get into an existing account I have had for years! I used to receive emails and notices in the App Store before updates/ upgrades occurred. Not this time. Why? 1P7 came in May, it has only started to affect me today. WHY?!? I used the app yesterday without a problem WHAT DID YOU DO?!?🤬 I managed to open the app BUT IT IS EMPTY I AM NOT PURCHASING A SUBSCRIPTION FIR AN EMPTY VAULT!! I graded you one star, you don't deserve that.Version: 7.4.1

Lost everythingInitiated a new phone iph 12 worked all day on entries, set up face recognition BUT next day? Unable to unlock. Logged in new with same password and no content while tried on other devices giving me old info from 10 years ago. Honestly? That is a Mickey Mouse you’re running. One star is way too high.Version: 7.7

Great when you can figure it outOn my computer, it’s wonderful. When this works, it’s awesome. When you can’t get your phone browser to work, it’s like running in circles. The effort it takes to figure it out makes me want to avoid figuring it out. Which means I run into regular challenges using my phone and the mobile app. :-(.Version: 7.4.4

Rip offTook $55 out of my account, this isn’t worth a penny..Version: 7.6.2

Rubbish appGod knows-how it happened but it took all my 560 current passwords and reset them to passwords from 2013 so everything is wrong and now i have only 360 records. So maybe SOMEHOW i accidentally selected an old vault or inadvertently made a new one either way it shouldn't have deleted all my current passwords with no warning I'm over it! Will find a new app.Version: 7.2.2

Great, except 17+ app rating makes family plan worthless for childrenI like 1Password very much and use it for all my passwords and important documents. However, I find the family plan to be of limited value because the app is rated 17+ due to the embedded web browser. I would like my children to use a password manager to develop good online habits, but it won’t be 1Password that allows this until the embedded browser feature is removed and the app rating changes to a child friendly level. I know there are work arounds on the 1Password forums but they require an unreasonable compromise on child account configuration and aren’t really suitable. I would suggest the family plan is at best misnamed until this is fixed..Version: 7.6.2

When money matters more than securityAgileBits could have implemented shared family wallets via iCloud, this is possible with iOS 10 and macOS Sierra. That would be both secure and convenient because all data will be in iCloud and customers would not need to create a new account with AgileBits. Instead, the developers decided to implement their own server-based solution which obviously is less secure because not matter how well it is encrypted, it would have been more secure in iCloud. The reason why they decided to go for that? Money. This allows them to justify their new subscription. Huge BOOOO for sacrificing security and convenience of your customers for business purposes..Version: 7.0.2

Forgetting their customer rootsIn the past I had a good amount of respect for 1password. I had tried other programs, yet 1password seemed to stay ahead of the pack in maintaining state-of-the-art. In the latest release, though, the desktop version has an incredibly annoying alert that this or that password is duplicated in other contexts -1password support confirms that the annoying alert cannot be removed. Their response to me and others was basically they are the best judge of proper security measures and indeed I should eliminate my duplicate passwords. No empathy, no imagination that I might have an rationale behind my process, just an insistence that their user base should view the permanent intrusion as a feature. My tough luck. I should have seen what was coming when they introduced, unannounced, the method of returning to their browser from their items screen by touching between two icons in the lower navigation bar -very non intuitive and archaic for an advanced app developer. My conclusion is that 1password has grown to be a “big” company: it feels as though the developers are preparing the app to be sold to Google or Microsoft or.....Version: 7.3.4

Doesn’t workCopy and paste does not work for IOS . After 10 days and 22 support emails finally had enough . Frustrating and annoying waste of time save your time just pay Someone to punch you in the stomach if you to be annoyed and pay for it.Version: 7.7.2

Rip off and will switchNew update dumped my data. Forced to pay again which I can not respect in the way this update was done. Totally blew this Dave Tears.Version: 6.9

MessedIn their own nest!My God! How confusing can an app become? From a simple licence purchase you now have memberships and scan codes and accounts and blah and blah and now my Mac won’t sync with my iPhone because I don’t the right Blahhhh. They say they have over 100 employees... would someone put on the ‘Simplify This’ hat and KISS! To top this frustration they’re making me pay, yet again, for an update when I have paid outright for this app TWICE now. If I choose to buy the next update, (which I won’t because they even admit that they screwed up by not telling the truth to customers to expect to have to pay for new versions - we call them updates....), this will be the THIRD time. Give us a break AGILE BITS. And while I’m at it, can you quit the phoney ‘I’m you pal and we’ve been working so hard for you’ emails. They stink of insincerity and patronism. In short. You STINK..Version: 7.0.6

Needs lots of workIt needs a much simpler UI looks and feels old and clunky.Version: 7.0.6

Poor customer support, too much time to update passwordsJust started using 1password on my iphone and Ipad which run IOS 13.3. Product good if you are starting from scratch and creating new passwords. Product is also good if you already have strong passwords for accounts you have. Product is bad for people like me who have a ton of passwords that are weak and need changing. I have been spending too much time using various methods to access 1passwords strong password generator on its website (if this feature is in its app it is not apparent) and to use the password generated to update the prompts at various websites for entering a new password and to copy this new password into my existing 1password website login password for the corresponding site. One other word of caution, 1password support is bad. There is no phone number to call. You have to send an email to them. It is day three today and I have not heard back from anyone. I can only imagine how I would feel if a glitch in 1password caused me to not to be able to access my bank accounts while their support people were on their 365 day vacation at the company. I will be checking out LastPass and other similar products..Version: 7.4.4

ScamWhere to unsubscribe? Charging my apple account without permission!!!.Version: 7.4.4

Can’t get behind the subscription modelBefore I had 2 reasons of choosing 1Password: 1. Pay-once 2. The password vault is local and synced through Dropbox I know the company says the old pay-once model is not sustainable, but as a customer, all I know is that now we have to pay more to get a non-local password vault. Does 1Password provide a slightly better user experience than L@stP@ss? Yes, but the latter is free. And there are more free and open source solutions out there..Version: 7.4.4

How to cancel the subscriptionCan’t find a way to cancel the subscription it was a wrong subscription that I chose.Version: 7.7.2

Too complicated!I have been using 1Password for at least 10+ years and have found that in recent times it has been getting far too complicated and that is why the app is getting a two star rating. The old straight forward approach seems to disappearing! All these changes and additions seem to necessitate the extra cost of regular subscriptions to cover development costs! Now when I try to login to 1Password on my iPhone 11 Pro Max I get a complicated array of choices. None of them good. I have considered downloading the app again and reinstalling it! But I have deferred this for the time being and opted for using my Mac and iPad Pro instead as they work fine with 1Password! So why not publish a simple straightforward app for the original purchasers called “1Password“ and another app for people who require all the bells and whistles and like paying monthly subscriptions called “1Password Pro” or similar..Version: 7.7

Buggy with my banking appsIf you live in a total Apple environment as I do, I see little reason to use this app or any other password manager when you can use iCloud Keychain. I tried with the help of 1Password support staff to use it with my banking app but it did not integrate at all well. Way more trouble than it’s worth; worked ok on my Mac but not on my iPad or iPhone I’ve gone back to iCloud Keychain which is easy and seamless.Version: 7.4.4

😒“membership is now frozen. You can subscribe at any time to get back to enjoying 1Password.” I’ve had this app for years when it was free now I can’t even access my passwords unless I pay them. Pro tip : DO NOT try this app unless you want your passwords held hostage.Version: 7.0.6

Not very user friendlyI’ve been using a combination of the native iOS password manager, LastPass and SecureSafe for ages. I reviewed the whole thing and based on articles online I decided to consolidate everything into 1Password. So on the plus side... the import of data from LastPass was good, from secureSafe a bit clunky, but that’s not really an issue for me. And that’s not really 1password’s fault. The usability of the web version is also pretty good, once you’ve logged in a few times per session - it seems a bit random. Less good... With mobile and iPad it is actually really hard work. I end up having to write passwords down to input them, or jump between apps to copy and paste and I end up duplicating password listings when I try to change a password. The trend online for changing or registering by entering an old password and then a new password then confirming the new password really throws 1Password. I have come close to abandoning 1Password out of frustration, but I hope that once I have worked my way through all my 400 stored passwords, it will be time well spent and managing things day to day will be less fiddly. And by the way, I find their tech support excellent. Quick response, very understanding and helpful..Version: 7.4.4

ImpossibleI worked for hours to get this app setup. It’s very complicated even with instructions which don’t work. There’s subscriptions required There’s another one that’s free I’m going to try.Version: 7.4.4

What is the point if not free?If I am using iPhone and app is not free, it is useless app. When we spend lots of money on phone, apps should be free..Version: 7.5.1

To use 1Password with Safari, You need a Password Account'Stand-alone vaults are not supported - to use 1Password with safari, you need a 1Password account' So... After almost 6 years of this being my go-to password manager, it looks like the devs have finally found a way to strong arm users into their subscription service. Now, I'm not a cheapskate and I'm not looking for something for nothing. I'm happy to pay for people's time and hard work, for anything I require that fits my needs. With one exception - Apps and software which employ this, quite frankly, ridiculous subscription business model. Call me old fashioned, but when I purchase items, either digitally, or irl, I actually want to pay for them once, own them (or my copy of the licence), and not have to think about it again. I don't want to be continually gouged on a monthly basis. I don't lease my car, I don't rent my house, I don't use HP to buy any of my household items. Why should I be forced to enrol in such a service, for an item which has already been proven to work perfectly well as an outright, one time purchase? A dinosaur I may be, but at least I'm one with principles to which I adhere. Goodbye 1password. It's been a lovely affair, but you've changed and I've stayed the same. I've never liked gold diggers and it looks to me, like you've sold your soul. From 5 starts to 1, in one foul swoop of an update... SMH. :0/.Version: 7.8.1

Brilliant until something goes wrong and then you’re all alone and stuffedI loved this app, I even recommended it to friends and colleagues BUT that was before I had a problem and then the developers are no where to be seen. I used this app successfully for three years, used it fully i.e. created complex passwords including the one to unlock the vault. I had over 180 different logins. Unfortunately I dropped my phone and needed to get the screen repaired which also means the digital Touch ID scanner. When I tried to get back into 1Password obviously there was no recognised figure print and because I had followed the apps advice had used a complex password. No problem! I also had a back up plan I had set up 1Password on my iPad. However, the app is so flawed that when I went to open the vault via my iPad it wouldn’t let me use my finger ID and insisted I put my password in. Well as you can see I had no way of getting my password. I have emailed the developers several times to ask for help but they do not respond. I am a paying customer and feel very aggrieved about this. The disruption this has caused is unbelievable I have almost lost my job because I used this app for my work passwords. I have had trouble accessing my bank account. All this when I buying a new house. I would really warn any off using this app as the after sales support service is appalling and I actually feel that things have been stolen from me. Horrid horrid people..Version: 7.0.6

Good but too expensive as a subscriptionI am using 1Password for many years now but the current subscription concept made it way more expensive to me over time that it was ever before. I am also not a fan of the 1Password cloud concept and, as it might be useful as option, I would prefer having the choice where to store my passwords, like iCloud, own personal cloud service, etc, so I have the control over my data. Overall I am still sticking with 1Password as I haven’t found a better alternative yet. Don’t get me wrong, it is a great tool but I would prefer more control over my data for the money I am paying and maybe making the 1Password cloud optional might reduce the running costs of this program....Version: 7.7.1

Can’t use iPhone cameraIt’s a shame the Function to use the iPhone camera or camera roll to attach a document to an entry just doesn’t work. Makes the app a pain to attach scans of passports, driver’s license etc. What is the point of having the feature if it doesn’t even work? Frustrating..Version: 7.8.1

Lots of good, but some really annoying badIf I’m out while wearing a face mask, of course Face ID won’t work and I have to enter a password, sometimes a few times. However when next time I am not wearing a mask, I expect Face ID to work. Sadly no. I have to disable and enable Face ID in Settings to get it to work again. REALLY annoying given that I have a “not simple” password. My other gripe is that the categories built in are too few and restrictive and there’s no option to create your own custom categories or modify the built in ones. So I have to adapt the existing ones and change the fields each time I create a new record..Version: 7.7

Had some problems getting it set upBut with the help of a very efficient customer service I was able to resolve the problems.Version: 7.9.3

Thanks for nothingI had this app set up using touch ID so I wouldn’t have to try to remember all of my passwords while my brain was fuzzy during chemo. Unfortunately, chemo caused the skin on my fingertips to crack so touch ID wouldn’t work and I got locked out of my account. Now that my fingers are healed, I still can’t access the app because it disabled touch ID and I can’t remember the master password (kind of why I got the app in the first place, duh!). I’ve researched and it seems that there is no way to reset the master password. I hated the thought of being forced to start a new account since I’d lose all of the passwords that I had stored in the app, but realized that I had no choice so I just requested that it be disabled. I just got my bank statement and noticed I’m still being charged for this. The whole process is beyond frustrating! I’m upset that I lost all of those passwords, but even more upset that there seems to be no way to get you to stop charging me for this trap of an app. I tried to find a place for support and it all seems to be public forums where other users try to help you troubleshoot. What a load of crap! Do I have to change my bank account now to have you stop withdrawing money for an app I can’t use? Where is the support for this app? Why can’t the master password be reset? Ridiculous..Version: 7.0.5

It used to be good - now a moneymakingI like this app and I have been using it since version 5. I purchased the license for both version 5 and then 6 when it was released but not they moved to a subscription model that forces you to pay monthly to get all the features…including the new Safari extension. To be fair, it is really disappointing to see how a great app has been transformed into a cash machine, leaving customers unhappy (you can see the many negative reviews about the subscription model all around the web). Nowadays, all the antivirus software, router, banks, etc. offer a free password manager that includes the exact same features for free so I think they should reconsider offering permanent licenses as well as subscriptions, otherwise they will lose all their customers. The excuse of 1Password account doesn’t work, I am afraid..Version: 7.8.1

Can’t get it to workSet up through the wizard presuming this sets up the app appropriately. Went to test it where my iPhone alerted me of a password vulnerability, so went to the site to change my password. Used Apple’s suggested strong password for the site but nothing prompted from 1password to save it keeping in mind I needed to enter my previous password, then enter a new one twice). Went back to 1password app, used my Face ID and then got an error logging in, need to re-enter my master password. Got in to the app and nothing had been saved or prompted for that site. Went back to the website and no passwords saved and now don’t know what the ‘strong password’ is to login. Now I have to go through the whole process of forgetting my password. Go back to 1password app to get help, scans Face ID. Yet again, error logging in, please enter master password again. Tried a well known social media platform - exact same as above. I’ve paid for a subscription and wasted 30 minutes going back and forth. I should have just stuck with apples iChain solution as this has been a total nightmare so far and it’s free. Doesn’t seem to do what’s advertised yet everyone raves about it so thought it must be good..Version: 7.7.6

Too expensivePaid two single license for my Mac and Windows, then paid family subscription for another year. It did the job, but way too expensive. Changed to another cheaper one now. Don’t feel any difference. Besides, they give some arrogant responses on their forums. So many replacements for it..Version: 7.4.6

So much potential, so often frustrating1. why can’t we have the option to not auto-unlock on exit (until the phone resets) like we do on the Mac? why on earth do you frustratingly limit it to one hour? FaceID is still extremely slow, but also extremely secure. much more secure than the password I have on my mac. So doing it over and over again - as often as 12 times a day when I’m at work - AFTER I’ve already logged into my phone - is absolutely ridiculous. Please give power-users more flexibility. The WHOLE POINT of using 1Password, IMO, is having total flexibility over all my authentication tools and integrating them as seamlessly as possible into my workflow. 2. 1Password fails dramatically when it comes to url-checking, which, in some ways, is okay. It’s not an easy problem when websites have ridiculous authentication schemes/URLS across origins. So why then does the UI for the iOS12 PW integration only show me whatever matches the URL. No search? Seriously? I have to then open 1Password, FaceID AGAIN, and start the whole process over again. Painfully slow. The extra star is because it’s beautifully designed and has the right foundation. But right now, it’s so, so, so frustratingly slow..Version: 7.2.5

Great when it can be used, but....This app Is fine for computer-literate users, but I would hesitate to recommend it to others. It works fine when it is fully aligned with the website or phone app that I am trying to access, but there are so many instances where it just doesn't work. For example, many websites ask you to enter the new password twice - sometimes the app does this fine, other times not; you can try copy/paste to get the password into the second box, but some websites don't allow it. Also, where a company has both a website and a phone app, there often isn't any way to easily get the password into both, other than writing it down and typing it in, which kind of defeats the objective. Obviously it would be an impossible task to align completely with every website or app out there; I just feel that more could be done to help users get round the difficulties. Also, like other comments, I find it really annoying to be constantly having to re-enter the full password to get into the app or to get a password..Version: 6.9.1

I'm Lost and FrustratedVery poor instructions! I have Safari and 1Password doesn’t work with it. Money out the widow!.Version: 7.4.6

Constantly asks to re-enter master passwordApp is way too aggressive about prompting for the master password..Version: 7.4.5

Subscription sucksUsed this app with my old phone back when you could buy it for 12$ or so... now they are charging ridiculous monthly dollars for the same... another company racking up cash out of our pockets... I moved to a more decent app. Adios..Version: 7.5.2

PasswordsI’m totally annoyed. Can’t get my very simple list of 7 passwords without being asked to sync it. Also you won’t accept any password I give..Version: 7.4.5

Lost patience with the appI’ve been using 1Password for over 10 years and it has been great. However, I’m finally losing patience with recent innovations which make it less usable. Number one, the IOS app WILL NOT remember my FaceID settings, and every time I use it I have to enter the insistently long passcode. This takes away so much of the old convenience, and the behaviour has been going on for two years now on two different iPhones, even after a couple of deletes and reinstalls. Secondly, the 1Password popup on the desktop Safari browser has become really intrusive, obscuring boxes that I need to fill out manually. I’m no longer prepared to pay monthly for a subscription when these basic usability issues remain unsolved, so I am reluctantly starting the process of manually exporting all my logins to a more streamlined competitor..Version: 7.7.1

Loved it... paid for it... then forced into subscribing?!?NOT cool 1Password developers! I paid for the app (desktop AND iPhone and IPad mobile versions!), enjoyed the features / benefits and even promoted it amongst family and friends... then... go to do an update and without warning, BOOM! now I haven’t any choice but to continue to use the app with a subscription?!? Two HUGE thumbs down to 1Password developers..Version: 7.5.2

Not freeThis is not a free app. You can download it for free but in order to use it you have to pay. Deleted it.Version: 7.5.1

Used to be the bestNow they become big, don't answer for paid users support question, disparaging customers, every communication with them conducted in the form of arrogance. It's time to look for another passwords manager company; I don't trust this company anymore..Version: 7.4.4

Can’t figure out how to use itI have had this app for many months and still can’t figure out how to use it. I have emailed them several times yet still can’t get it figured out. What a waste of money. It would have been very useful if it worked..Version: 7.5.2
