✓ Best so farHER is the only decent dating app I’ve used, but I’ve used dating sites over the years. I was very reluctant to try a dating app after having dismal luck with dating sites. Plenty of Fish is garbage and OKCupid is terrible in D.C. if you don’t sort of have a cookie cutter life that looks great on paper, or are pansexual. I met up with 13 women from OKC and zero chemistry. Rarely received messages from anyone interesting. In comparison I met up with 4 people off of HER and the 4th one was the charm. She’s not my future wife but we’ve been dating 4 months and it’s been wonderful. I get tons of matches also and have a lot of fun convos when I’m bored and lonely. Plus I can upload my events to the app and lots of people RSVP to my events there. Dating is often a lonely and frustrating endeavor but I’d have to say HER is one of the better options out there. ✓ Solid queer/wlw dating app!I’ve been using Her for a while and I really like how it works. Unlike Tinder, you get notified if someone ‘likes’ you and are able to check out their profile. ✓ It’s okay but needs improvement.I did meet someone a couple years back but it didn’t work out. I took a break from the app as well. However recently as of March 3, 2023 it seems like I’ll be swiping when I come across the same 4 people that I legit JUST swipes left or right on. I’ll swipe right on let’s say’s Haley and it tells me I’ve already liked her. Sometimes it will clear out the 4 people but other times I cycle through the same 4 people until the match button to reset it I guess. I also have an issues sometimes where I’m clicking through the photos and an ad randomly takes me to another browser… These are two very annoying things I’m not sure if I’m the only one experiencing if as it seems like no one else has made a comment. ✓ Great app for whatever you needThe app is great, for meeting both flings, partners or friends. I’ve had lovely conversations with others who share my interests on the community tab, and in DMs. Most people are in here to meet others, and the filters help with finding people who actually want to talk to each other, not just say “hi, how are you?” And leave. The bio set up is a great help for people who feel awkward setting up bios too, does little prompts, has customisable stickers, personal filters, and gives ideas for pictures to add, which is cute. It’s really interesting to read other peoples bios and the answers they give to questions. If you find it hard to start a conversation, the app sends both users a start off question to get things going, which is nice, and leads to fun convos off the bat. Unfortunately, it’s been hard to find Polyamorous people in my area, however I’m hoping that will change..Version: 6.15.17

✓ A lovely app for gay womenI am taking off 1 star to 4 stars because of the app’s interface and slightly confusing features, also there is a lack of awareness of app so less users. HOWEVER, I have had best luck on HER out of any apps - I met my dear ex-girlfriend there who is still my close long-distance friend, it was most beautiful relationship of my life even if it didn’t end in marriage or whatsoever (length doesn’t define success of a relationship), there are less women on HER than tinder so less chance of meeting someone compatible with you, but then again those on the app know more clearly what they want than tinder/bumble babes..Version: 6.10.17

✓ Love At First Swipe!!I was off and on Her a few times in 2020 but I wasn’t having any luck so I deleted my account. I decided to give it another try in January 2021. I was only on there for a few weeks when I Found HER!! It was Love At First Swipe!! We started messaging on Her and two days later exchanged numbers and started texting and then FaceTimed two days after that! When I saw her face to face through that screen that’s when I knew I was going to marry her!! I met her in person two weeks later and took her to Pacifica State beach for our first date. Two months later she proposed on my birthday and I surprised her and proposed right after. So it was a double surprise proposal on the beach where we had our first date!! ✓ AccommodatingThe HER app is one of the most accommodating lgbtq+ apps out there, especially for queer women. Although some improvements can still be made with filters, the app is a whole lot easier to navigate and use than all others that I have come across over the years. You’re able to filter your preferences significantly and they also prohibit screenshots which help with discretion/ privacy. The free version of the app although limited in swipes/ likes per day, is still pretty good and offers access to specific communities also. I had been in a string of bad toxic relationships with men and wanted to get to actually branch out and feel out the part of me that liked girls. I really liked the app and I made some friends on there but the biggest thing that came out of this app is my now girlfriend of 4 months. I didn’t expect anything from this app, was going to just keep things casual but this girl is literally my world, my literal better half and soulmate and it’s been probably the best 4 months of my life. ✓ Better than other apps for queen womenI’ve been using Her for just a week now and i’ve noticed that there’s a lot more queer women here than any other app i’ve used before which is a good thing. Most of the women also state whether they’re looking for a relationship or a casual thing which saves you a lot of time rather than finding out later on. However, one thing that concerns me and i’m sure many other women is the amount of obvious men with he/him pronouns and obviously male names. I try to report them every single time but i don’t know whether they’ve been removed from the app or not. So i would wish there was more further communication regarding such fake profiles. ✓ MUCH improved!!I used this app maybe 4/5 years ago and it quickly became a joke in my queer community due to the unsavory amount of fake sexworking bot accounts and the glitchy UI. I made a single friend that kept showing up "in my area" somehow but happened to be a whole country away. I got a new phone with more space and redownloaded after seeing the new look and my mind has officially been blown. I would say it's 90% more user-friendly and the app itself has been made very well. Virtually none of the past glitches (profiles repeating endlessly, images getting stuck, messages not loading, the app backing out of something before you're done) AND THE ENTIRE USER BASE IS ITSELF AN UPGRADE!! This app going from a scattered handful of real lesbians to every single queer creature out there is amazing. ✓ Patience is KeySo I used this app first back in 2016; I found someone I clicked with within the first few days, and still have a few friends from that time from HER. My last LTR also happened because of HER; this was in 2021. There weren’t too many bots; I see lots of complaints about that, but it may depend on your area? I can’t speak on that too much since I’ve only talked to a handful. It’s now 2023 and I’m back… my only critiques are how expensive a subscription is (I have never purchased one because of this) and how you run out of “likes” (it is really seeing the people who like you) and have to wait 12 hours or so for it to refresh. ✓ A great app.. but it could be greater ☝️Granted that I know a premium version of the app exists.. it’s still very limiting to only allow maybe what, 25 swipes (whether you swipe right or not) daily. Yes, it’s a good theory which will assume users will come back everyday to use the app but after a while it gets frustrating (and I’ve been using it for only 3 days). I think this feature of limiting swipes would work if you’re allowed to swipe right 5 times a day, or if one can add filters so their swipes are more tailored and intentional. Even if you match with someone, there’s no guarantee they’ll actually text you back, but that’s where this cute feature of the HER app gives question prompts to the matched couple. I think maybe there should either be a decrease in the subscription cost (£20 is a lot) or allow a 10 minute window weekly where users can get access to all features (see your likes particularly)..Version: 6.16.9

In the 3 years on the application, I was kicked off 5 times for people believing I was a cis gender male and not a trans male. I met a few nice friends on this app, from my best friend to my future fiancé!! This is my primary reason for providing this testimonial. The last time I was kicked off HER, the HER team gave me a 3 year subscription plus unlimited match events. It was about a month and 3 years later; and I finally met HER on HER. I met the one!! Part of it is because im awkward but its definitely not easy to click with people and find “the one” unless u were to get premium.. which is really freaking expensive. ✓ Location matters to most people!!I think this app really needs a more accurate location option. When it comes to swiping, yea there are people in my area. But when it comes to the news feed option, I’m scrolling, I see a few attractive woman, I click on their profile and they’re 1,000+ miles away. There’s nothing one with talking to people outside your state but there should at least be an option to see people nearby on the news feed or see people further away. A lot of people don’t even choose to communicate to one another because they see how far they are and a lot of people are wanting to meet up.
