Foreign Affairs Magazine for Positive User Reviews

Great content, app could be betterIt’s annoying how the app always opens to the home screen even if you were in the middle of an article. It can be tough to find the spot you left off in..Version: 2.0

AwesomeI love listening to audio foreign affairs ..Version: 3.7

Great app and contentThought provoking and meaningful content condensed in an easy to use, nicely made app. I would recommend this to anyone interested in understanding the most pressing issues of our times. The subscription is certainly worth it!.Version: 2.2

Media QualityOne of the most “thinking” publications today!.Version: 3.0

News appReally Good and Trustworthy! I’m happy that nowadays we an option to reed trustworthy news, not garbage like cnn!.Version: 3.6

ArticlesThe articles are short, current and very informative. A winning combination.Version: 3.0

Excellent Journalism on Important IssuesFor those that want thought provoking articles on a wide array of topics, Foreign Affairs is a great resource. I just joined and am loving their insight. Definitely worth it..Version: 3.7

Intelligent and DetailedThis is beyond doubt the most intelligent, detailed and reasonable analysis and commentary available and always current. With such knowledge and wisdom available it is surprising that those that make decisions at the political level do not do so with such material though one expects that maybe there are some adults, if not in the room, at least nearby. ‘Foreign Affairs’ is obviously one of these and thereby contributes to the possibility of rational and informed decisions..Version: 3.5.3

Great site for original and thoughtful informationGreat site for original and thoughtful information on world affairs. Very good and nice to read articles that are balanced and don’t favour any side.Version: 3.9

FAI find the articles of Foreign Affairs related within international politics, world’s most critical problems, as well as past historical events as extremely interesting and useful. Generally, I enjoy reading FA. BR AT.Version: 1.2

Connecting an AccountI have subscribed to Foreign Affairs through Apple. I don't have an account. How do I connect my subscription through Apple to a Foreign Affairs Account so I can read on my computer? In the app I’m not signed in because I don’t have an account, I just purchased a subscription through Apple..Version: 2.3.1

Could be betterAfter unlocking my screen, my article fails to reload and I have to search for it again before I came resume reading. Please fix this glitch. Also, I like the bookmark feature but please add a highlight feature. When a highlight is made, it could be added to a searchable log that the reader can keep forever and browse any time..Version: 3.0

Can't access my digital issuesHaving the same problem as others who complain they can't access their digital copies of their print subscription through the app. The latest update seems to have broken the app, and customer service says they're "aware" of the problem, but so far, after weeks, they haven't fixed it. Seriously, it worked before, roll back to the previous version..Version: 1.1

Content is excellent but app could use some workIn particular, there is an issue where closing the app in the middle of an article doesn’t let you pick up where you left off; instead, it refreshes the article and starts you from the beginning, which makes it so you have to scroll back to wherever you left off..Version: 3.6

Great online resourceYears ago I would eagerly await the next printed issue of Foreign Affairs. Now I get new, substantive articles via email almost every day! The writing still seems centrist and Establishment, but there is plenty to learn here..Version: 3.5.3

Deep reading for time limited peopleThis is a great publication. One of the “features” is that it’s only printed 6 times per year. I subscribe to the Economist and feel stressed when not being to devote sufficient time to each weekly issue. I treat this pub more like a book, taking a couple weeks to read it. An added plus is the ability to listen to audio versions of the articles using the app..Version: 2.2

Would be great with audio!I just don’t get it. Foreign affairs creates audio versions of each article. They are available to subscribers on their website. It would be so easy to make them available in the app and therefore actually useful. I just don’t get it..Version: 1.1

Audio is awesomeThanks for including audio for the monthly editions, it is really convenient when you have a young family and are always on the go..Version: 2.2

Everything you would wantIt’s quite a simple app but has everything you would want from Foriegn Affairs. Articles, audio articles and podcasts, all up to date and easy to navigate..Version: 3.7

Balanced OjectivityI’ve been reading the FA Magazines since I was an International Affairs undergraduate student (Almost 50 years). While I acknowledge that emotions, politics and societal tides sways that very often shape the opinions over time, I held on the hope at least some of the academics would be guadrailed by their discipline and true knowledge to remain objective. I am afraid the recent articles do not reflect this. FA Magazine platform apparently does not see it as your duty to nourish Objectivity?.Version: 3.0

Foreign affairs audio appI love the fact that foreign affairs as provided an audio version. The audio helps me go much much more out of my subscription. It would be better if the went through audible like WSJ,WP, and NYT... the glitch I see in the app is that it shuts down when my phone goes to sleep so I constantly have to wake my phone up.... I don’t have this problem with the economist or audible....Version: 2.0

Excellent publicationI thoroughly enjoy Foreign Affairs. Excellent analysis, often from the key actors themselves! Analysis is in-depth, but still readable. Thirty-page essays are a great length to provide information, commentary and study. The material could not be more topical and relevant..Version: 3.9

Audio Good and BadAdding the audio edition of articles was a great addition to a great magazine. However, there is a major problem: the audio shuts off when you minimize the app or when the auto-lock activates. This makes the audio almost unusable; please fix this in future updates! However, thanks for adding this to the app..Version: 1.2

Salah MOne of the best magazine for the global politics analysis ..Version: 3.5.3

Recorded articlesWhy are they not all recorded the way The Economist’s are?.Version: 2.2

Great content, good features, OK appThe Foreign Affairs Magazine name for this app is an understatement. The content includes everything in the magazine plus a variety of additional articles plus audio (read) versions of many of the articles. New content shows up daily. Most people will likely pick and choose what to read. The app is OK when it works. The organization of the articles is great. It's servicable. You can save articles and read them offline (great for travel). The formatting is pretty easy to read on iPhones and iPads. When it doesn't work... Well I don't know. I had a problem that compleatly disabled everything on my iPad. No articles. No content. Just a blank framework of the app. Though I reached out to support and they were helpful, and though we tried many things, we could not get it to work. Then I broke my iPad, replaced it with a newer model, loaded that up from my backup and everything worked fine. Lesson, if you can't get it to work, get a new iPad..Version: 3.9

RivetingI live to immerse myself in the long insightful articles dissecting global affairs that I find in the pages of Foreign Affairs..Version: 3.6

App keeps refreshing and text sizesI like the app for the most part but I absolutely hate that the app refreshes every time you return to the app, even if you are in the middle of an article. I understand refreshing when you are on the menu screen, but if you are in the middle of an article, leave the app for a little, and return to the app, the app should not refresh. A minor annoyance is the limitations with text resizing. Why isn’t it a sliding scale instead of a handful of intervals. I have the choice of having the text too small or too large because of the sizing intervals..Version: 3.6

Great all aroundExcellent app, excellent magazine, excellent content..Version: 3.0

Great ReadingI am a relatively new reader of Foreign Affairs and I enjoy every issue. Picked my first issue up at the airport, settled in on my cramped flight to Vegas, and never put it down. Got back, hemmed and hawed over a subscription, went full Monty and got digital and paper, never looked back. Thoroughly enjoy most everything in every issue. Not sure if I have ever enjoyed a subscription so much..Version: 2.1

Informed OpinionForeign Affairs is where I go to learn the current state of global tensions and trends. The magazine that informs World Leaders, their advisors, and Students of International Affairs is unparalleled in depth of knowledge and historical context. The app is simple to use and designed just like the magazine..Version: 3.7

FOREIGN AFFAIRS APPIt’s pretty good app.but sometimes does help much to find what I am after and bit confusing as well. Hope with time get better and we will have these articles in podcasts..Version: 1.2

Great content - not so great appApp resets if you leave it, so lose place in the essay - rather annoying . In any case, great content..Version: 3.6

Top qualityIf i had to choose a one-stop-shop for learning about the world, then this magazine would certainly be the best choice. Every essay broadens my perspective. Even on topics that i am well read on, i always learn from the key insights that come from the wide range of experts and the inside knowledge that many of the writers possess. I highly recommend paying for this app. The subscription comes with a decade of writings (2012-present), with audio human voice narrations. One important addition that i need is for there to be a 1.25x speed option for audio narration. Unfortunately im stuck in the position of 1.0x narration being too slow and 1.5x being too fast..Version: 3.9

Great Accompanying AppForeign Affairs is one of the most influential and comprehensive publications on foreign politics from an American perspective. The accompanying app is clean, easy to navigate, and finally supports playing their Audible recordings of their articles. Without the audio version of articles it would be hard to digest full issues, however, now I can listen to essays and articles while commuting or doing chores..Version: 2.1

Content DisappearedI love Foreign Affairs and regularly use the app to read, however lately older articles/magazines have broken links with a “The requested URL was not found on this server” message. I hope this is fixed soon as it makes having a digital subscription (along with print) essentially useless..Version: 2.2

Great app but ..The audio version of the articles is very welcomed. Pls add a designated player so one can rewind or forward and listen whilst using other apps - sat nav or email etc..Version: 1.2

Great variety of contentI’m not an expert in foreign policy, but I have a deep interest in being aware of what’s happening on the world stage. FA gives me a around the globe perspective everyday making me more informed about foreign policy and it’s impact business and global order..Version: 3.5.3

The magazine is wonderful but the app has some space to improveI love the magazine, but if I could give 2 suggestions for the app it would be the following: - Add a side or top bar that could indicate progress through the text. Sometimes in a long text I feel like I’m almost finishing and I am not even halfway through. Thus, it would help to have a small indicative of progress - allow for users to set larger or smaller fonts. The current font size is fine in general, but still I would like to make it a little larger sometimes. Another nice feature that I would love to see being more explored is the audio stories (ideally all stories in audio), but I understand it takes more time to get it functioning..Version: 3.0

Foreign Affairs app.The most comprehensive and detailed informative app ever. If you want to understand the world and it’s complexity, this is the platform. All is explained by some of the world’s most knowledgeable and insightful experts. Every Government and or Military professional needs to have this on their phones..Version: 3.7

Better than I rememberThe articles are writing are better than I remember from years ago and the audio is excellent..Version: 3.9

Great news siteYou can always count on Foreign Affairs to give a pro/con report. It so nice to see a news that give a neutral perspective and not biased. I really enjoyed and appreciated all the great information this site provided. This is what journalism is all about. Thank you!.Version: 3.9

Great magazineGood quality as usual.Version: 1.2

Amazing Content, Please Make Dark Mode Truly BlackNothing catches my interest or makes me feel better informed than Foreign Affairs. The only change I would make is to offer a Dark Mode that uses a truly black background rather than the slightly whitened background used here. Update for Developer: I understand that you already offer a Dark Mode. I want the background to be truly black on OLED displays, which it isn’t now. Thanks!.Version: 3.0

Poor quality app matched by non-responsive customer serviceI am a paid subscriber, however the most recent edition will not download unless I pay for the privilege. I have tried to contact customer services to resolve this issue, but have been studiously ignored. Avoid..Version: 2.2

Great analysisThe insights this magazine offers should be read by al policy makers..Version: 3.5.3

Foreign Affairs ReviewThis is without doubt the best written political magazine in circulation that I have come across. Reading it is a clear graduation from the slightly left leaning Economist and Foreign Policy; it is intellectually challenging and leads to deep learning of the topics and countries covered. No doubt this is an analyst’s magazine of choice. Low frequency of new issues is the only downside, which says a lot about how much I appreciate it. The annual subscription is a small investment, I highly recommend..Version: 1.2

Excellent publication. Good app. Needs audio!I’ve been reading FA for years. This app works flawlessly on my iPhone. One request please: the website often includes audio. Could this please be added to the app with the option to download (like the economist). Extra star now since audio added. Thanks!.Version: 2.2

Essential reading - superbMy best new subscription of 2023. Wide-reaching, informative and essential reading!.Version: 3.5.3

WhateverApp requires IOS 6. Those of us who bought I Pads a couple of years ago cannot use IOS 6 - we're limited to IOS 5. Therefore we can no longer download Foreign Affairs. Our subscriptions are therefore useless..Version: 1.0.3

The best public resource on International PoliticsI have been following the CFR, mostly via Foreign Affairs for years. The opinions of the contributors are always well informed and on point. If you are interested in foreign policy and World events this is what you should be reading. ~Trask.Version: 3.6

Good but can be betterUpdate 2: The “The Latest” section started working again. Also, I appreciate customer support getting back to me. Update: app’s been pretty buggy lately. The “The latest” section doesn’t load. Overall, the app is pretty good and the content is great. It would be really nice if saved articles don’t just save locally. I constantly switch between my devices (iPhone, ipad) and none of my saved articles appear on the other devices. Also, it would be nice if the app had the ability to download articles in the background so it starts up faster and does not do the updating when I launch the app. If I’m mistaken in any of this and the app does, indeed, do those things, then please let me know..Version: 2.3.1

With Problems Come AnswersForeign Affairs provides erudite and well researched articles by international relations specialists, academics and diplomats. Very rarely do I read a paper or essay that I don’t think “I hadn’t thought of it that way” or “I hadn’t considered that issue”. Always problems come with answers , or at least a range of responses. This is contrary to so much of the world’s poor journalism..Version: 3.5.3

Great (but one nitpick)The content is interesting and readable, and the app doesn’t have any serious problems. But I wish that when I left the app in the middle of an article (e.g. to go read additional details on a part of it), it brought me back to where I was instead of taking me back to the top of the article..Version: 3.9

App does not recognize my subscriptionNew app update, new problems; same old story with Foreign Affairs. I'm a paid digital subscriber, but the app does not recognize my subscription. Previous update wouldn't even allow me to get into the app. I don't know who is running their digital show, but they need to be canned. I will not be renewing my subscription. Avoid this app and Foreign Affairs!.Version: 1.1

Decent overall. Small improvements needed.I get both print and digital. I love the digital app and it’s access to most current articles, audio versions or most all articles, and podcasts. My one improve would be a change so that when I switch apps or set down my phone the FA app doesn’t do it’s little reset. Slightly annoying. Also, set up a paid subscriber message board..Version: 3.9

Unable to download the latest issueI love the Foreign Affairs magazine. I have been subscribing to the magazine through iTunes. I had not had any issue with the app in the past. But I have repeatedly been unable to download the January/February 2021 issue (latest issue). I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app. It did not work. I contacted Apple. They advised me to contact the developer. So I emailed the developer, but the email was undelivered. I am giving the app a 4-star rating for now. If the developer hears me, and resolves the issue I’ll give them a 5-star..Version: 2.2

What happened?App used to work well and i could download new content regularly. Account is still active but the content will not download. This App is completely useless - if it wasn’t broke, why did you try to fix it with a broken update?.Version: 1.2

Amazing app, but one issue.I love that there's a lot of unbiased (for the most part) straightforward articles on this app. I’d appreciate it if you guys could make it so that if I leave the app and come back (without closing the app), it saves where I am in the article instead of taking me back to the top..Version: 3.7

Mag appBrilliant content and lay out ....Version: 2.2

Getting a better viewI am enjoying reading about the world and the US relationship to it through the lens of all the great writers at Foreign Affairs. I am getting a better view of situations that impact the US, around the globe that I wouldn’t be getting otherwise. Five stars..Version: 2.2

Much much betterThe old app tried to do too much with little support. This version is sooooooo much better...all anyone wants is a good reading experience. I reupped my subscription because of this improved app..Version: 1.2

App resets article progression if you leave itIf you leave the app to look at another app, your article progression resets to the beginning of the article. Quite annoying and seems like a basic feature to fix!.Version: 3.6

World viewsIf you want to know what takes place inside and more importantly outside America, this is the magazine for you. Incredibly well written and edited, presented by some of the leading minds in their field. Foreign Affairs feature's honest and in-depth articles..Version: 3.6
