✓ Way way over rated by a long country mile.Doesn’t have very basic capabilities such as display the celestial poles or radial lines which basic free apps have. I’ll be asking for a refund!.Version: 7.1.1
✓ About Sky GuideI find this app very interesting and informative about the night sky. I only use the app for looking at planets but I enjoy it. One thing the app could make better is the view. I would love to see a close up view that is worth 5 stars..Version: 7.1
✓ Doesn’t work on latest couple versions of IOS.I’ve just upgraded my phone- the older version worked really well, and I loved it. Either the developers haven’t kept up with the latest IOS, or it doesn’t work past an iPhone X..Version: 10.6
✓ The Big Wallet DipperThis app used to be a huge educational asset. Many nights I would bring it out to learn some new part of the universe. Unfortunately, like so many other developers, greed got the best of them and the app has now removed access to information. They have gone to a horribly expensive subscription model that locks most of the information behind a paywall. I can’t stand developers who do this. They build their popularity on the backs of supporters and then turn around and gouge them. I will likely delete this app as I can’t see anything I used to. I outright refuse to pay $20 per year for the luxury of seeing basic satellite info. I would rather donate the money to an astronomy club for kids. I am really disappointed in this app. They let the success go to their heads and saw dollar signs instead of stars. For shame..Version: 10.0.3

✓ Sky Guide (upgraded pro version)The Sky Guide (free version) is a great guide to the universe. You can easily find objects that you can see with the naked eye. However, after upgrading to the “Pro Version” which advises additional features, I began experiencing problems with the app. Often, when selecting the app, the icon would appear and then immediately disappear. I would try the usual, Bluetooth on/off, phone shutdown/restart troubleshooting but it wouldn’t help. Sometimes I would go outside for an observation but it was hit or miss with app functionality. I primarily use the app to observe the SkyLab passes. It’s nice to have a 15 minute heads up for passage. Sometimes, I get a notification of pass but no observation is seen and no tracking on my phone is seen. This app is great when it works but frustrating when not working..Version: 10.2
✓ Was good until it wasn’tI’ve had this app for a couple years and it worked fine, until it didn’t. Recently, within the past year, the app’s AR is not calibrating. Whether I set location manually or auto and turn the compass off manually or not, the app’s UI is stuck at the tail of Ursa Major which honestly, is the same result I’m seeing for another app Sky View. Gone are the days when I could wave my phone in the sky and was directed to the star or planet I was aiming at. So now, the app is kinda worthless. I’ve checked to make sure it was updated and even deleted and redownloaded it and still stuck at the tail. I can move the sky around with my finger so I know it’s not a technical issue with my device. It seems like the app is non-responsive to the AR, which is rather unfortunate because I really loved this app and loved telling people about it. Not it’s a formerly downloaded relic..Version: 10.4.1
✓ Not good at allWORST APP EVER TOTALLY NOT RECOMMENDED ever looked at a really small star and decide to click on it, except this garbage app won’t tell you about its history and mark the star that’s sky guide aka a app that’s just way overpriced the supermassive upgrade is lame because Sky view shows you planets in huge sizes and keeps it simple and nice and I played sky guide and 3 weeks later I don’t even use it so a waste of money on this lame app. If you buy this app just know that your wasting your money because SkyView shows stuff that skyguide can’t whether it’s free or not because sky view shows I.S.S and Hubble space telescope but not sky guide, night sky is better to because it shows so many stars and shows meteors and andromeda like sky guide but andromeda is bigger on night sky and just way overpriced for not a really good app it just doesn’t show a lot of things and I just figured this out, they use the really distant stars that you can’t even click for design making you think it’s real.Version: 8.1.9
✓ ZoeSpent many sleepless nights on this app hunting the satellite’s and adding them to my favourites after I’d spotted them. After the upgrade I don't really enjoy it anymore. Before the upgrade all the satellites were lit up on the app when they were overhead. Now you have to look for them by time. Also the pictures of the satellites were great before showing their size compared to a human. Now they’re just child like drawings all looking the same. With all the new added features the app is now boring unless you pay for a subscription to look at the things that were free before the upgrade. Sad!!.Version: 10.2
✓ Compass no longer working when it did before ISS notification no longer happening eitherThis used to be a great app. But now it’s not working. It did this before so I deleted and reinstalled but I did that again and it’s still not working. It’s completely useless with the compass for precise location. And I enjoyed iss notifications. ✓ DISAPPOINTING CUSTOMER SERVICEWhile the app looks beautiful it has trouble calibrating location. I contacted customer service and the response at first was good. They gave me some suggestions but when this did not work, my emails went unanswered. Particularly disappointing considering I was dealing with the co-founder. AUGUST 20 UPDATE - After my initial review the co-founder emailed me with some questions. Since then, absolutely no contact after a few weeks! UNFORTUNATELY THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A JOKE. ✓ What happened to sky guideI have been using this app and have loved it since i was 13 and i am now 18 and it is not the same. The calibration is way off, I got the newest phone and it is not the phones fault, it’s unfortunately the app. It says the moon is in the west when it’s actually in the east. Also, I can see the big dipper in the sky above me and it says it’s Bootës. and the big dipper on the app is way off. not happy..Version: 8.1.9

✓ Information Outdated and IncorrectThe information is outdated. New Horizons flew past MU69 week’s ago and Humanity Star reentered the atmosphere in March. Some of the information is incorrect too. The supernova that created the pulsar Geminga was never recorded (Sky Guide refers to it as SN 347) and Alpha Centauri is not the closest star to the Sun. Some of the confirmed exoplanets should be included too, such as Proxima Centauri B as well as all of the objects in the NGC and TYC catalogues..Version: 7.1
✓ Do not go to the poles while the dark sky finder is enabled!When I open the location settings pane with the dark sky finder enabled and get near the polar areas it causes the app to freeze and even after closing the app and reopening it I cannot change my location since even just tapping on “Location” causes the app to freeze. The only way to leave the poles is to delete and reinstall the app, not even a reboot or keeping iOS updated solves it. I’m autistic and sometimes use this deal with anxiety and this is extremely frustrating that this longstanding bug at the poles has not been fixed and has been made even worse in newer versions. Unless this is fixed I cannot give this app five stars, it’s really a shame since this is the best star map app out of all the ones I have tried and it’s marred by a glaring bug like this and this is coming from someone who has used this app for YEARS! I cannot convey how disappointed I am as an amateur astronomer and I’m even considering canceling my pro subscription unless I see a real fix soon, this really breaks my heart since no other app of this kind comes close to this..Version: 10.4

✓ Changing rating because they became greedyI used to love this app as I would occasionally launch it while on vacation, etc. I paid for this app and it was worth it. Expectation was that it would be maintained and also as new discoveries were made or even satellites launched, the database was also updated. Now, this is called enhanced and now we have to pay a subscription for that service..Version: 10.2
