✓ Needs updatingI love the content. Had it for years. However when watching live constantly freezes at the commercial breaks and have to reload. Games finish and take an age to be uploaded. Pretty poorly made app considering the money behind it. Also if you come out a game it rarely saves the spot at which you last left. More like ESPN-- Video crashes repeatedly when streamed to Apple TV which you have to do as there’s no Apple TV app - The schedule of live events is rarely ever correctly synced, the replay library leaves much to be desired - College sports being shown on ESPN2 isn’t always available - Horrible live play controls (don’t try to rewind or hold your place if you have to go do something) Not sure why this isn’t comparable to ESPN+.Version: 3.5

✓ Do ESPN even know who their customers are?My 2/5 feedback and review is not about the app, more ESPN and their content. The ESPN Player service is promoted in Europe and in English language is clearly targeting UK customers. I’ve subscribed to watch spring football (XFL) after the end of the NFL season, and basically am unable to access all of the games. The replays section doesn’t include all the games on playback, two have only been available on playback with Spanish language broadcast (no English option) and in week 3, only one of the four games is available on replay. It’s honestly not difficult for ESPN to hold up their side of the deal by showing the content..Version: 13.214

✓ Frustrating to say the leastFirst of all, this app needs an Apple TV version. Being able to watch on your phone / computer when needed is great but airplay to an Apple TV just doesn’t translate well when there are so many games going on during college football season. Second, the experience is so flaky, you’d think this app was on version 1. If you are watching a game on demand, sometimes it just suddenly stops. You can relaunch the game but it won’t resume from where you were last; instead it goes to the beginning. Espn already has the technology to make this app better but they refuse to. ✓ Great App, butWatching live means adverts (well a blank screen), watching replays also means adverts, not the 3 minute break sort but those "push off to one side and watch this" type of adverts. This is a SUBSCRIPTION service, there should be NO adverts. ✓ STILL AVOID AT ALL COSTSStill doesn’t work - exchanged numerous emails with customer service last year but they did nothing about it. They seem unwilling or unable to sort out a basic problem with casting - the app freezes during breaks as the chromecast device assumes the stream has stopped. Unless they sort it out I would still avoid at all costs Would give it zero stars if possible. Worst app that I have for casting by a very, very long way. Freezes frequently or drops picture quality. ✓ College football 2022I’ve been long awaiting college football’s new season and now I see that the app (ESPN Player for Europe) is not functioning as it always has. There is no longer a Football Live and upcoming section as there has always been and as there still is for other sports. I can’t find the best games that I want to see. I can’t find college game day. Is this a sign of how the app will be from now on? Has there been some changes this year? Will it be this way for college basketball as well? Or are there updates that need to be made? ✓ Was good, not currentlyThis used to be a simple App to use, as a College Football fan it had replays from the previous weekends games (not Big10 or PAC12 conferences) and reruns of Gameday etc … something has happened this season (2022), no Saturday games are visible in the Football section, you have to do a search for a particular game team or programme to find anything, it looks like their sorting engine isn’t working and there’s no view of upcoming games that will be available … pretty poor, needs fixing quickly.Version: 12.0315
✓ Can’t personalise itThe app is good if your team is playing. I got it to watch my college basketball and football. So it allows for that. The only problem (which is quite big) is you can’t customise it. Let’s say I only want to watch Jayhawk basketball and football, i have to scroll through all sorts of stuff, other teams, other sports like softball and wrestling, which are great if you want to watch those, however if you want to personalise your feed to open all Jayhawk sports you can’t (or Tarheelss, Blue Devils, Wildcats,Tigers etc - props to the teams I despise but make for great rivalry games). ✓ App is down again.App is out off date. 10 year old UI, customer service page has been offline for ages now. Only selected content available, just a fraction of what is available in the US. They do have some good NCAA football and basketball games but there is also a lot of high school lacrosse and college softball. ✓ No game passThe selection of games is great, easy to navigate to find what you want. The streaming works well and top quality picture. I even feel the price is good if your able to pay it annually. But unfortunately there is no app for smart tv or game console so if you wish to watch it on tv you need to link up a laptop(if you have one) to you tv every time you wish to watch on the big screen.
