Tesla for Positive User Reviews

Audible alarm when superchargingTesla thought of so many useful things in the app; I use them continually. It could be one notch better: my 7.5 yr old “S” has started to lose a bit of battery and I try to manage carefully the supercharging. 80% is currently at 200 miles. Yesterday, it hit 195 and I was charged for not moving the car. If there is a grace period of 5 minutes, my 80% mark is a moving target and efficiency is suffering as is my wallet. Obviously, I learned to set charge to 100% so as to avoid this trap next time. Why isn’t there an audible alarm on my phone when the Supercharger thinks I am at 80%? The text notices arrive intermittenly so can’t count on them. I had arrived back at car and was literally preparing to be ready once it hit 200…This reality of creeping lower charge levels creates a no win for the user. How about it Tesla? Audible charge alarm when at 75% or equivalent?.Version: 4.27.1

Charge PercentageWhy can’t the charge percentage be something you manually type in to get a more accurate power supply, rather than a slider?.Version: 4.19.0

Electricity CostsLove being able to estimate my costs of charging but why can’t I set a rate plan per kWh cost to zero. That’s my plan for three hours each day..Version: 4.15.3

Excellent AppThis app is user friendly, responsive and frequently updated. Not only does it control your car but it also controls your chargers and Solar/powerwall. Managing everything through the use of 1 app is a major positive. Comparing it to other friend’s who own Mercedes & Audis and use their apps the Tesla app is in another league!.Version: 4.24.0

Great app, needs trip planning.I should be able to plan my trip though the app without having to physically sit in my car. Not only will this help with predicting how long a particular trip will take (with charging in-between) but it will also allow users to better manage their charge and adjust charge limits accordingly, all without having to physically access the car. Otherwise it’s a brilliant app, works well, it’s really quick and intuitive to use..Version: 3.10.3

Great appTesla is constantly listens to feedbacks and makes improvements to the app. Any person leaving less than 4 stars I really feel sorry for you guys for being such unhappy souls all your life. This app is ahead of its time as compared to other EV manufacturers..Version: 4.13.3

It’s okI’m writing this to balance out my previous negative review. The updates are frequent and seem to do nothing but break existing functionality, which then gets fixed in a subsequent update. Every time there’s an update, I get anxious and immediately start to wonder what does it break this time around. Having said that, it’s easy to forget that my previous (petrol) car just came with a key. Pre-heating and charge control are all awesome. Quickly unlocking the charge port needs improvement. Will give 5 stars once an update adds some actual new useful functionality and/or usability..Version: 4.4.2

Icon too smallI’m the weirdo that noticed that icon is smaller.Version: 4.23.2

Charge statusThe app doesn't accept entering 7.4 cents as the cost of electricity..Version: 4.26.5

Good app but limited international time zone supportThe app is good, with easy to use functionality. However there is limited support of international time zones for users New Zealand. All my super charging sessions are shown as taking place on the previous day. Also when looking at the charge stats, the monthly cost for charging does not add up the the amount shown for the total amount spent for the year.Version: 4.19.5

Scheduled Departure Doesn’t WorkI like the app, but as other reviews stated there is no support. I am forced to do a review in hopes of getting support for my issue. Specifically, scheduled departure doesn’t work as expected. For example, I listed 8am on weekdays as my scheduled departure with off peak hours ending at the same time. Yet on Fridays (a weekday) it charges at any time including during peak electricity hours. Also, if you enter the actual off peak end time (i.e. 2pm) with a departure time of 8am, the car will start charging if I plug it in at 3pm. The logic is extremely fickle and confusing. Bottom line, when you enter a scheduled departure, it should wait to charge such that charging completes right before your departure, period! If you add off peak electricity, it should still do the same thing, while also avoiding peak time. To do this it needs to know the start and end times for peak electricity rates. Just that simple..Version: 4.20.69

GreatDoes exactly what it says on the sticker, does it perfectly. They keep adding quality of life improvements, just like they do to the car. There’s a lot of reviews here with less than five stars and a request for more features. Great, Tesla seems to listen too, but at its heart this is a very fancy full featured car key, and in that respect it’s functional and amazing..Version: 4.24.0

Needs Fixing On Zoomed ModeThe app needs fixing for people that use their iPhones in zoomed mode instead of standard. Not all options are available and the app won’t let you scroll to see them. An example of this is the schedule departure area. You can’t see the very bottom option of ‘off peak end time’ which is very important when charging off peak. (When in zoomed mode).Version: 4.11.2

NEEDED - One cold weather tweakIt take 5-10x longer to heat the batteries than it does to heat the cabin. There should be a “Pre-condition Batteries Only” feature, that a user could activate, well in advance of using the vehicle. Then the first 15-20 minutes wouldn’t be spent driving with significantly reduced power/re-gen..Version: 3.3.1

Update good - miles!! But i have a problem…Thanks for updating the app to resolve the km / miles issue. I have a colour blind problem i have had since i got my Tesla model 3 - in the app, in climate, the steering wheel heater when it turns red means it is on, however, i can’t see the change from grey to red and need to keep double checking with a non colour blind person. Any chance you can get this fixed?? Also, viewing cameras on remotely from app on sentry would be great among other new remote features using the boom box with your voice please 😃.Version: 4.4.2

Agree with Comments on ScheduleI agree with the issues of setting the charge schedule for vehicles. I must admit the previous Powerwall graphics were more intuitive with the ability to overlay all flows on a single graph. Latest release says that multiple rate periods are supported but I cannot seem to get this working. Is this feature specific to Tesla rate plans only or only available in certain geographies or on GW2. I’d check myself but release notes for PW aren’t there very often for months and sometimes it would appear not at all..Version: 4.2.3

Love the AppLove my Teslas! I mean they’re equipped with a range of safety features, and they often receive high safety ratings. Features like automatic emergency braking, collision avoidance, and advanced driver-assistance systems contribute to a sense of security for Tesla owner!.Version: 4.27.3

Excellent app, but needs to support wall charger tooThis is an outstanding app that allows one to monitor in real-time the solar power our panels are generating, what our household energy consumption is and the charge level of our Powerwall. What is now required is to integrate our Wall Charger so we can see how much energy is being sent to our Tesla EV and from which source, as well as to manage this dynamically so we maximise the consumption of out solar energy rather than sending the excess to the grid..Version: 4.19.5

Amazing appDon’t know why it’s got a low rating but I really like the Tesla app. However it needs a few features. 1. Energy consumption data on the app just like you have in the car 2. Able to schedule charging time on and off 3. It should have an option to wake the car up, sometimes I go into the app to check other things but it wakes up the car. Need an option to disable this 4. Supercharger prices within the app.Version: 4.14.1

Version 4.4.0 new error in U.K. Km instead of milesVersion 4.40 brings us lists of chargers, but still no list of destination chargers or third party chargers? Why only superchargers? Did destination charger Program in hotels and restaurants not add value to owners? Why can we not have availability of third party chargers? Mercedes in their EQS manages to give owners availability of third party chargers? Timer function for pre-heating of car with start and end time or for charging car still not implemented. New error in 4.40 introduced: In U.K. miles have been swapped with kilometres! Why? It was working in version 4.3? Respect local distance units! Why is App version 4 so much backwards to version 3.3? Tesla do not take functionality away from owners!.Version: 4.4.0

Auto switch self powered and TariffI love the Tesla Powerwall, it’s saving me so much money. I would like to program my Powerwall to Top up at night, when electricity is cheap to buy and during the day switch to Self Powered. I do this manually now. Other than that love the Powerwall 😀.Version: 4.7.2

MapsMaps in the app & car not calibrated and seem not to be working. Needs an update asap please.Version: 4.26.6

Rock SolidI have a Tesla Model 3 and for me the app has been rock solid - never let me down and gets better and better - app updates and car updates mean that the car is better now that the day ai bought it. I can view live stream from the car cameras, view tyre pressures, set charging limits, charging schedule all from the app - all of these features are new since I got the car and downloaded the app. I use the app mainly to set charging limit, check charge status, open boot and front boot, heat the car in winter when having breakfast and open windows to vent in summer. I love that I can brows google maps on my phone and send destination pins to the car satnav from google maps (via the Tesla app) to the car so the car’s satnav is programmed before I get in the car 3rd party app to Apple Watch is great and can access boot opening etc from watch..Version: 4.13.3

Requesting location disableCan someone create a feature on the car that i could turn off the GPS tracking for the tesla without having to disable the entire app function..Version: 4.27.0

Charging schedule needs improvementWe need a timeframe to charge battery for off peak hours. Please enable off peak ending time with starting time at the same time, so timeframe can be determined..Version: 4.24.0

Wish For Apple Watch Version of The AppWish my Apple Watch had a version of the app so I don’t need to carry my phone for the sake of driving my car. I’ve been going to the beach to swim and have had no where to put my phone whilst in the water… a watch version of the app would make it so convenient - not sure why this hasn’t been created yet..Version: 4.28.1

RequestMake camera viewing available on app :).Version: 4.27.5

Vehicle Controls for devices not setup for phone keyThe lastest update has removed vehicle control and charge limit settings for devices such as an iPad that does not have the phone key setup. These controls are helpful and limit the number of phone keys which is a good security feature for your users. Could you please review and reinstate this capability..Version: 4.27.5

Canada weatherPlease add over the air update add a option to precondition along with be current settings. Without being in the car and set gps to charging station for all models. Via app and in car setting precondition. Battery while driving would be nice during Canadian weather.Version: 4.28.1

Getting slower but still worksFor some reason when i purchased my new tesla the app connection and keyless entry is much slower than previous models i used to own. I remember getting into the older model with ease but now 9/10 it has to load before app works. And sometimes i walk up to the car and door is not unlocked. Its quite fustrating tbh..Version: 4.25.5

Love the app!In the world we live in today, who doesn’t love having the control of everything right at your finger tips? Love that I can use the app to control the garage door as well, it saves from having to install a wireless connection for it and use a different app for that feature, so it’s awesome that you can do that. What I would like to see is the option to add or remove the widgets on the main screen, right now it has the A/C, frunk, and locking widget. Being able to add the trunk as an option, or turn on sentry mode since it’s not a default, or the garage control, would be an awesome update. Also I want to be able to access the additional camera views, after all, I did just spend over 50k on the car, you’d think I be able to use fully what I purchased.Version: 3.8.2

Energy calculations are screwed upSince 4.26.0 the energy calculations for the Powerwall are screwed up. There is a constant amount of grid energy shown that is not actually being consumed. Downloading the csv data confirms that the grid use is zero. Other calculations apply to be wrong too..Version: 4.26.1

LoveTesla is the best 🤍🤍🤍.Version: 4.27.0

Great appI can’t understand all the negative reviews, having used the app for over 3 years I love it. Always used on iPhones. Where else can you heat the car before getting in, defrost the car before leaving the house and now view around and inside the car from wherever you are in the world. Top marks Tesla..Version: 4.17.5

No vibration or sound on phone if left with door openI came back to the car after shopping for an hour and looked at the phone app to open the bonnet. There was a warning note on the phone saying that a door had been left unlocked. No vibration - no sound to warn me. Surely this can be incorporated in the app without everyone getting their phones out on a regular basis to see if there were anything wrong with the car?.Version: 4.12.0

Pls fixNormally, an outstanding app. After last night’s update, heating the cabin/preconditioning the battery won’t activate. It fails to begin. Pls fix quickly, winter has arrived..Version: 4.27.3

Please track battery degradationAnd more accurate cost tracking. Then it will be perfect and I could ditch Tessie..Version: 4.25.0

DC Fast charging in non-Tesla stationsIt would be great to add an option to “preheat the battery” using the app when driving to non-Tesla fast chargers..Version: 4.24.5

Scheduling Options need improvementI like most things about this app except I found my 15 year old non EV had better and more options for automatic starting on a schedule. This app only lets you set one instance of it and makes it either daily or weekends. I want to make my vehicle schedule to precondition just once on schedule, no repeats, and other options so add other preconditioning times in the same day, and specific days of the week like only Mon Wed Fri etc.Version: 4.27.5

Better than any other app for other brands.See many complaints about the app and Elon. I’m no Elon fan per se’, but objectively I think people forget, and maybe can answer this, what app does any other car maker have that is anything close to Tesla? None. My BMW app does like 3 things. It’s garbage. I’ve had pretty much a 99% positive experience with the app. Things just work and new features have been rolled out the last 18months that we didn’t have. Like remote camera viewing which requires premium connectivity subscription. Plus a host of other improvements. Yeah they aren’t perfect, but they are still literally miles ahead of any competition for the App and technology in the electric car market. The 400k cars a quarter they are producing and selling should be evidence enough. But this is the App Store and people love to hate. Good luck to you. Kia has some interesting electric cars, maybe that is more up your alley? The app is trash for that brand. Look it up..Version: 4.16.1

Good functionality for the most part, but mileage estimations always offWhen typing in travel from one point to another, Tesla estimates the miles or battery left over upon reaching the stated destination. This is vitally important of course, so one does not run out of charge and become stranded. In my 2022 Model 3, the estimations are off 100% of the time, and always off on short side. Example - traveling from point A to B will result in me arriving with 15% battery left. But in reality, this estimation is full on bogus 100% of the time, and I will constantly either arrive with very little battery left or in some cases it’s so incredibly off that I will need to find a place to charge in the middle just so I can make it to my destination. My driving style is not aggressive either. Why the constant misrepresentation? Why not provide honest, real-world estimations that could actually be useful rather than detrimental? I mostly like the Tesla experience, but this part desperately needs to change. Thank you for your consideration..Version: 4.21.0

Solar Time of Use Schedule Still not good enoughI use the Tesla App to control my solar and powerwalls. I’m quite happy with the app except for two things: 1) storm watch doesn’t seem to work and 2) time of use price schedule adjust. Storm watch doesn’t seem to trigger when in a sever storm watch anymore. This wasn’t a problem until recently. My electric provider has a setup that is not accommodated by the existing price schedule when using time based control. We’re in the fall billing schedule and that means that prices are high from 6-8am and then are lower until 3pm to 8pm. The price schedule doesn’t currently support separated windows and I can only represent this higher price schedule in the morning by using a price shoulder (which is not accurate and leads to unnecessary battery use on during the day on rainy days. I would like to ask for a more flexible price schedule ability so that I can properly inform the equipment on best times based on price. We only have two priced to accommodate; peak and off-peak. It’s only the time setup that I would need changed..Version: 3.10.8

Powerwall Contribution to Charge StatsCan we please get the app to recognise the contributions that Powerwalls make to a car’s charge? For example, the free sunshine in my Powerwalls sometimes fills or contributes to filling the car during super off peak times but are not recognised and the cost of electricity at the time is incorrectly recorded against the charge. Can we also get Charge HQ excess solar contributions ($0 / kWh) recognised as a bonus. Thanks..Version: 4.26.6

More control over Powerwall chargingI live in Western Australia and on mild sunny days we see solar inverter output being reduced due to high grid voltage (because of the high percentage of solar uptake). Preventing the battery from charging early in the day so that it can charge during peak solar production would increase the overall system performance. In general though I’ve been very happy with the app and system..Version: 3.10.3

Great appI use this as my key.Version: 4.28.1

I love this app and my TeslaThis app allows me to enjoy my Tesla even more, the ability to remotely check on my Tesla and communicate with it is unlike no other vehicle I have ever owned. For this reason I will never not own a Tesla! App developers, of course there are always ways to improve this app over the years!! I have now changed my 3 stars to five starts from only one year ago. Thanks you so much for the additional improvements to this app! I really really wanted to be able to adjust the charge rate from the app and now we can because of the awesome app developers!! Even better would be a history of your previous battery charges and kWh amounts! You all are truly bettering peoples lives and creating new happiness! Thank you all and Elon! : ).Version: 4.4.1

Add support for Apple WatchIt would be great if we could use our Apple Watch as a key. There are lots of 3rd party apps for that but that’s super sketchy and insecure. If my phone’s battery is dead, my watch would be a great fallback key..Version: 3.10.9

Generate Virtual NFC Card in Apple WalletThe BLE keyless entry suffers occasional malfunction. It will be painful if your car is parked in an enclosed structure where most signals are attenuated..Version: 4.9.0

Please get the widgets to work with IOS17 !!!The widgets for the app don’t work on the IOS software and it just shows a blank screen that is unresponsive..Version: 4.27.0

Integration between vehicles and energy requiredThe app UX is great. Visual and intuitive. The additional features I’d like to see are 1. integration between Powerwall and Tesla vehicles. My Powerwall is linked to solar so when Powerwall is full I’d like the system to dynamically adjust the amp input in my car to utilise the additional solar energy to charge the car before grid export. This could be done with the UMC or wall connector. 2. Dynamic adjustment of the amp input based on solar production during Powerwall charging would also be useful. 3. Notifications for Powerwall fully charged or Powerwall reaching low charge or reserve power level. 4. A Powerwall widget with charge level, status and solar production..Version: 4.19.5

Good functionality but two improvement suggestionsThe app has good functionality for remotely charging and adjusting some settings in my Model S. Two suggestions: 1. It would be great if you could integrate the power consumption and charge rates from my energy company so I could see the cost per charge for my car (like I can when I use a supercharger) 2. Bring back the more vibrant colours before you refreshed the app - it just looks so drab now - why did you do that?.Version: 4.0.2

Clean it up…I have always loved the Tesla APP for the functionality and access to the car and we have been a Tesla owner for a long time. After suggesting the ability to see the car cameras remotely, they added that feature about a year ago and continually improve the APP features just as they do the cars software… But this ridiculous new “Refer and Earn” banner that is on the main screen has to go!! It is taking valuable screen space and you can’t get rid of it even after opening the item. Any owner know about referrals and the toy box, so please get rid of the annoying “in your face” banner. I will certainly give back my 5-star rating to the APP once you get back to the basics and get rid of the advertisements that are cluttering up the user interface screen!!.Version: 4.24.5

GeniusLove the new look and feel. The app has always been brilliant and love the constant updates! No other manufacturer gets close to this experience IMO, and I’ve had a number of them….the one gripe, if, as I do, you carry your phone in the back pocket, and you have an arm full of stuff, I have to do a Fred Astaire shimmy (sometimes up to 10 secs) before the car will unlock !.Version: 4.25.0

Powerwall managerRecent updates allowing entry of Energy pricing allows for better management of powerwall use.Version: 4.5.1

I don’t have any problems that these others areMy experience has been great with no occurrences of issues that others leaving bad reviews mention. I think it is very device and location specific, meaning phone make/model, cell tower connectivity between phone and vehicle, WiFi/internet service (if involved in the connection equation), and potentially needing to reset the mobile phone altogether. Specifically, I have never had username/password/logout issues, so it can’t be the app is poor or my experience would be consistent with theirs. Coming from a Camry XLE and the Toyota Entune app (which is a total joke and worthless piece of crap that literally makes you type username/password EVERY time and no option of TouchID) the Tesla app is used DAILY almost hourly, whereas I would open Entune once a month to see if it had actually become useful or even worked yet. (It never became useful or worked). For the one user who mentioned they wish it would have Siri or other automation, just buy the “RemoteS” app in the App Store. You can create Siri shortcuts and literally tell your car what to do. Tesla shouldn’t be the sole developer of mobile app enhancements, just core functions. They just need to provide the capability and documentation for developers to access core functions, which they have done and are available on the web. Learn development or start a campaign to acquire the development. Otherwise use the feature request function in the car..Version: 3.6.0

Powerwall update pleaseCould you please make in the next update or just the one after that? My idea is can you make the display have more decibel places instead of 2.4Kw show 2.389Kw. So we can get a better idea of power usage and charging speed. Thank you Martin Paisey.Version: 4.28.1

New Design.New bits on the new app work so much easier, just touch lock icon on roof to unlock car. I must admit I stared at the app for ages to figure out how to force it to charge outside of scheduled charging hours. The bit to press is TINY. Some further redesign is needed, it looks clean, tidy and great design looks…. But its style over substance some bits are in very small writing and hard to find..Version: 4.0.2

Navigation bug; Minor Shortcuts bugNavigation trough several waypoints is now broken (version 4.27.3); can only build route from current location which is strangely named “##category_name## location” to one destination, and that’s it. Tesla app should export some of car statuses to the Shortcuts app (or to Home Assistant maybe?), so that it is possible to add conditional statements to the scripts, e.g. “At 7:00am, If car is charging, then stop charging”. Otherwise, in this particular case, Shortcut will drop an error, as it can’t stop charging a car when it’s not charging. There’s are possible workarounds/hacks, but would be nice to have a native support..Version: 4.27.3

MirroredThe app is perfect, only the fenders cameras are mirrored when it is in windows.Version: 4.27.3

Latest app updateGoodmorning, I very often check the first page to see if my battery is still working. Personally i do not like the new first page to check. It was always very!!! easy to see where all the electricity was going, now you really have to look and look again. Sorry.Version: 4.0.2

Good, but getting worse over time. For every great feature Tesla add to their software they seem to break something else. This week the very useful function of setting the Charge Limit using KMs was removed for no apparent reason. I used this data to set my charge limit for my daily driving and check battery health every day and it has been removed? So many examples of this, I don’t understand….Version: 4.8.1

Latest version has problemsUPDATE; The app and vehicle have taken an update and they are talking to each other, the charging glitch has now gone, running like clockwork again thank goodness! This has always worked very well. The latest version has a glitch as mentioned by another user, the charge rate reverts to 9A so after a low cost over night recharge you find the car NOT fully charged in the morning, this is a major problem..Version: 4.3.0

Love the app but needs 2 thingsJust started using the app after having a Powerwall 2 installed. Couple of feature requests : 1. The power flow option is great but needs to support landscape mode so it can be used as a wall display. 2. Time based control is awesome but needs the option to input rates for peak, off peak and solar feed in so smarter decisions can be made by the app on when to charge and discharge..Version: 3.10.5

Well maintainedKudos to developers for issuing updates on a monthly basis. Bugs get addressed fairly quickly and it performs as promised..Version: 4.28.1

App out of sync with widgetOverall, the app works great with my M3, even better with the Powerwalls. However, the app can report not having seen the car for hours just after issuing a notification from the car. The parked location also doesn’t update quick enough, as it can report the car still parked at home after a drive and being parked half a day at work. A software update request that would make all Apple Tags users happy: please make the app aware of the tags so that the car’s location is recognized as a safe location, like home, so that the tags don’t report to be left behind..Version: 4.23.2

No summonNice app but there is no summon feature for me.Version: 4.5.0

Been perfect until this April updateKeeps losing connection, says you have not internet despite that my car and phone our on the same Wi-fi with internet. Now takes an hour to update location even when at home. Car was also updated so not sure which is at fault. UPDATE: could have been a glitch but now working perfectly...Version: 3.3.5

It is good but with some quirksI mostly use it for Tesla Gateway control and monitoring and it is rather good displaying current and historical data for PowerWalls, solar production, house electricity consumption, grid outages and so on. For some reason Charge On Solar option does not appear for me even though versions of M3 and gateway should allow it. Phone version of the app is more refined and polished. Tablet version is somewhat simplified scaled up rendering but it does work well for reviewing historical solar data. Presentation of house consumption, power walls state and usage, grid usage and PV production is well designed. You have access to a lot of data without UI being too complex. Marketing “enhancements“ appear once in a while and can be annoying but fortunately just appear as additional elements on the screen, not popups. Overall it is good with room for improvements..Version: 4.28.1

Constantly Improving!I woke up to a power outage this morning after a wind advisory. Nothing unusual there but Tesla did not trigger a storm watch so my batteries were drained. Three days later and it looks like storm watch is now triggering on today’s wind advisory. Great work on the quick resolution! Thank you Tesla. Tesla solar and power wall are a great solution in high cost power areas with unstable grids. Update: the above problem seems to be resolved. I would like to see Tesla manage the power wall to minimize time in a discharged state as well as power cost. For example during high power cost times it will drain the battery as soon as possible rather than draining at the last possible moment for the same benefit. This would maximize backup since there is less time in the day that the batteries are in a discharged state..Version: 4.12.0

Tesla is the best.I have a Tesla they are expensive but the best and Tesla’s are good for the environment..Version: 3.10.5

Awesome AppI love Tesla and this is a great app. Please add the ability to use Siri Shortcuts and Apple Watch app. I won’t use third party apps..Version: 4.16.1

Great well thought out appI have a Tesla Model X Peformance and this app is great! Being able to turn the climate on when we are out is great. Would like to be able to alter scheduled charging time within the app as at the moment you have to go into the car to do that. Stand alone battery pre-conditioning/warming would be good too as sometimes before a trip I do not want to charge the battery more nor turn the climate on, but I do want to warm the battery for improved efficiency for when I use the car. Would also like to be able to turn on Ludicrous+ mode from within the app (again you have to do this within the car). I drive around on Ludicrous mode all the time but occasionally would like to enable Ludicrous+ mode when I am out and away from the car..Version: 3.10.7

Sentry Mode RequestSadly, our Model 3 got backed into while parked overnight, and unfortunately, that was the one night we forgot to activate Sentry Mode. Fortunately, the other driver left a note but that could have easily resulted in a hit and run with no info on the driver. It would be super helpful to have a preference that would allow Sentry Mode to auto-engage whenever parked, possibly with an additional setting that would only do it away from home (for those with garages). Maybe also a preference that it would disengage below a certain battery threshold? In the event of an accident, you’d very likely record the plates of the car that hit you. 5/7/19 edit: thank you for adding this feature!!! However, here is a suggestion that could take things to the next level and prevent some mishaps altogether. Since you are already monitoring surroundings with the low-power ultrasonics, could you not also distinguish a car moving too close while parked (a more uniform motion pattern than a pedestrian)? If a car gets too close, a quick honk of the Tesla’s horn could provide enough warning for the other driver to realize just how close they are. Not sure if that’s technically feasible but, if so, that would be huge! Accident averted! Thanks for the consideration and appreciate all the great work you devs at Tesla do!.Version: 3.8.4

Good app butThe Tesla App is pretty amazing but there are some pretty core features missing. Like it would be great to put your navigation into the app to determine how much power you need for an upcoming road trip, that would allow you to change the charging limit from your phone without every time having to go to the car, putting the destination in, looking at the estimated remaining power when you arrive and then changing the charging limit. Would also be great to review ‘recorded’ sentry clips or get push notifications when there is an event. Power wall ManagementHave used this app since 2015 for my cars and now my power walls. After a few days my only complaint is that there is only the two management settings - 1. Power with solar and battery in all periods as much as possible and 2. Charge in off peak to 100% Id like the ability to set the amount that my power wall should charge using the off peak. For example: Backup charge - charges to level no matter what 20% Grid charge - charges to level in off peak 40% Solar use - charges during the day 40% Basically my issue is that if it charges from the grid to 100% - then during the day instead of charging the battery, my excess solar is going back to the grid. Id want to be able to charge a certain amount in tbe off peak but leave it so no matter what, my solar is charging my battery during the day still. The in between setting. ALSO some feedback, would like to see a weather feature for solar/powerwall so it can top up the expected gap from the grid for the next day in overnight off peak based on expected weather conditions for the next day. Anyway, awesome work this is so cutting edge and great advancement..Version: 4.13.1

Sign out and in between product installsUnfortunately, I installed two Energy products in one day and each required a “new site” to be created. Creating a second “new” site would have not been necessary if I had signed out and in from the App before installing the second product. Now, sadly, I have two different “sites” with the same name and each containing only one product. It would be a nice additional feature to be able to remove multiple sites and consolidate products onto one..Version: 4.26.6

V4.3.0 improvements still needed- need to make sure that when the car software update is applied, the Tesla app update is also applied. I had problems connecting to the car after the last update to the car software, and for some reason the Tesla app was not automatically updated, I had to go to the App Store and search for it and press update. -there is a discussion on Reddit about a method of adding a fifth shortcut in the app, but I have been unable to go beyond for shortcuts… Maybe we could have a second row? -The schedule charging feature has a start time but not a finish time. I am using octopus go as my energy supplier… Cheap electricity between 0030 and 0430… I want the Tesla app scheduled charging to only operate during that time -I do not want to have to physically go to the car in cold weather to adjust the settings-they should all be available from the app. Hyphen it would be nice to store a Favourites in the schedule charging. For example the cheap overnight electricity option that I mentioned, but also a schedule that allows me to top up for 2 to 3 hours and then stop-it would be better to be able to store a Favourites and share those with my partner who has the app pointing to the same car..Version: 4.3.0

Needs improvementI wish you could see if windows are down. I also love to activate the heated seat, steering wheel, side mirrors from the app..Version: 3.2.0

Decatur Tesla Service Center was excellentIt was one of those adventures in the north Georgia mountains. Everything was perfect until the first morning I went out and found my Tesla sitting on one of its back rear rims with a flat tire. Long story, but ended up with AAA towing my car on a flatbed to the Decatur dealership. Thank goodness for my AAA membership. Tesla Road Service had wanted to charge for any miles over 50 and said they were too busy to help out otherwise. Anyway, the tow truck came from South Carolina and dropped the car at Tesla in Decatur on a Saturday. By the time our Family Reunion was over Sunday and I had a ride back to Atlanta, Tesla service Center in Decatur called Monday early to ask for permission to install a new tire. I gave the permission and by the time I got there, the car was ready. Thank you especially to Gabriel for how thorough and helpful he was at Decatur Tesla Service Center. He went above and beyond helping with my problem. Things there were so well managed, I want to give them all accolades. P.S. I hope Elon’s new honeycombed tire which won’t go flat will be out soon..Version: 4.23.2

Love the new visual refresh!I get it, the contrast of elements and clickable areas do need improvement. But, the new visual overhaul and modernisation was a long needed upgrade and definitely brings the most dated part of owning a Tesla into a more modern setting. Love it! To all of these people who say ‘no one wanted this update’ you are by far in the MINORITY. This was a required update to make sure they stay modern. You’re right that this shouldn’t come at the cost of functionality, but outside of these App Store reviews, the reception has been overwhelmingly positive. Remember, people only ever complain, just think of all the hundreds of thousands of people happily using the app..Version: 4.1.1

Great app, just missing a couple featuresApp works really. Great connectivity with the car, and lots of amazing features. There a couple missing features that would be a great addition. First would be a way to pre-condition the battery prior to the cabin heating (since preconditioning takes a lot longer). Second would be a way to schedule an increase to the charge limit for a single trip (I.e. I know I’m going on a big trip this upcoming weekend, so I want to wake up to 100% charge for a single day only)..Version: 4.28.1

Shortcut updateThe recent update with the shortcut function on IOS is great. However a lot of us are having an issue with the trunk open/close function not working. Every other command works fine. Can you fix this? Thanks.Version: 4.24.0

New 4.4.2 version has ironed out some issues - great appI had previously reviewed following the update to 4.4.0 when the update caused the units to change from miles to km here in the UK. The Tesla app team have resolved this within a couple of weeks in the 4.4.2 update so thought another review would be useful. Overall the functionality of the app and the controls it gives you over your Tesla is very impressive. I’ve had a few new cars from brands such as Audi and Mercedes and their apps are nowhere near as good as this. The ability to adjust charge schedules, preconditioning and defrost are very handy and means your Tesla will always be ready for the journey. My only constructive feedback would be that there is nowhere to feedback when there is an issue with the app as the link in the AppStore takes you to the Tesla page. I look forward to future updates..Version: 4.4.2

Suggestions for making charging cheaper/cleanerI am on a variable day-ahead hourly rate plan with my electric utility. I prefer to buy more electricity during selected hours when it is cheaper. In Illinois this is typically when wind is blowing at night, but obviously this varies from day to day. Cheaper electricity also tends to be cleaner electricity. It would be nice if I could set two state of charge levels, a minimum charge level and a maximum charge level and have the app/car automatically (i.e. using a pricing arbitrage-like strategy) select the hours for charging that minimize electricity cost subject to the above charge level constraints. During cold weather, this strategy would ideally also take into account losses from battery heating. Finally, it would be nice to have away to just heat the battery without heating the cabin. While heating the battery uses energy, it also enables regenerative braking which help to recoup some of that energy loss while greatly reducing brake wear..Version: 4.5.1

Like it! 🏆 A great app; IMO there’s room for improvementI like it! IMO, highly desirable missing features: Apple Watch, “pre-condition battery only” option, and the ability to select individual days rather than just the entire “weekdays” for the “precondition schedule”, would be great. Hence 4 stars 🌟 for now, from me. 🙂 I like the app! IMO it’s functional, well laid out, reliable, does NOT consume too much battery 🔋 (efficient), economic, relatively customizable, and useful. Kudos to Tesla! 🏆👍 Thanks!.Version: 4.26.5

Great app, keeps getting betterTesla keeps improving my driving and car management experience regularly, through this app. Being able to adjust and readjust the climate remotely from my phone, including individual seat heaters, defrost, cabin temp, has been great this winter. Being able to remotely open the two trunks and charging port, flash lights and horn, etc., is nice to have when you want it. Being able to schedule a service appt, control the charging sched, map out nearest superchargers, and find pretty precisely where my car is at the exact moment, is really convenient. Only issue is the time it takes to “wake up” (connect from the app to the car), while it is only less than a minute, takes longer than I would like. When I’m standing in my house next to the router and the car is 20 feet away, also on the router, I would think it would be almost instantaneous. Would really, really like to be able to remotely activate any/all cameras and see the view from my phone. Thanks, Tesla!.Version: 3.8.2

Functions and easy to use - missing multiple peak periodsI use the App to manage my Powerwall2, love it but really wish we could have the ability to have multiple peak periods. In Aus, most power companies hit you in the AM and PM for peak periods for power usage, only being able to set one isn’t optimal for using the Cost Saving feature.Version: 3.10.14
