✓ WILL STEAL YOUR MONEYWhen i got the 7 day free trail for 9.99 a month I cancelled before the 7 days were up. About 5 months after deleting the app I was charged 9.99 even though the app hadn’t been downloaded on my iPhone for months. Someone needs to fix this or I’ll go the legal way for my money back..Version: 4.56

✓ Good idea but too costlyThis app is useful for a quick lesson each day - choosing the 10 new words you would like to learn and practice BUT after a short trial period you have to pay and it’s not worth it as you can find the information for free elsewhere. Most other good language apps allow people to continue to use their app for free but to a limited extent and they pay more to get the full service. I think this app should also try that method so that it’s available for all and that would attract more people..Version: 4.27
✓ Avoid this app for german!I have been learning german for a while now and just wanted to expand my vocabulary. However, within the first ten words I was presented with by this app, there were plainly TWO wrong grammatical genders, and that's just the ones that felt wrong and I checked!! Do NOT use this to learn German, as you will learn incorrect German. I can't speak for other languages but it doesn't bode well for their pathetic attention to detail..Version: 4.9

✓ Would be 5 if they fixed the bugsI'm only 5 days with it and the 50 words are sticking really well. What I find a little frustrating, especially because of the high monthly fees they charge is that during the tests you do, often the word you're asked to spell can't be heard no matter how many times you press the speaker button or reset the phone. At this price you'd expect it to be better polished. Hope they fix it soon but by judging from other reviews it's been like this for a long time..Version: 4.9

✓ Doesn’t seem worth the money unless they stay on top of itBiggest issue is that the app attempts to test the user with sound clips that can’t be heard (Phone volume all the way up and even played music and sounds from other apps just to be sure. But sigh... it’s Annoying.)There’s no way to get it to test you in a different way instead (translate text? or a flash card?) to get around this issue... Or, let’s say you’re at work or in a waiting room and you don’t want the public to hear the strange sounds emitting from your device (think of how Duolingo does it). ✓ ExpensiveCould be great - but ridiculously expensive at 10.99 a month! It could also be improved by having the 10,000 words given in the correct order of frequency. The word 'event' or 'snow' are given at the start in Russian but there are hundreds of more frequent words that are needed first. They really missed a trick here..Version: 4.9
✓ Very handy and effective, but...I'll keep it simple in that this is a very effective app. It's nicely laid out, prices aren't terrible (I have the lifetime one language for £29.99) and so far it's proving very handy as a beginner in Russian. Further, when I contacted the developers with issues and suggestions they responded very quickly. However: -Updates are incredibly infrequent. None of the bugs or suggestions I submitted a couple of months ago are fixed -There are minor glitches in the app - occasionally hanging for example -Inability to add your own words is a pain (incidentally, some fairly popular words seem missing) -Thematics could be expanded. The choices are relatively limited - more specialist sections might be good My main gripe is the lack of updates, despite having paid £30. I can only hope this will improve, and then I shall bump my review up to 4/5 stars.Version: 4.9

To continue using this app the only option given is to pay a monthly subscription of $18.99, in iTunes a number of options are given including a monthly subscription of $2.99 a month or $19.99 for a whole year. ✓ Frustrating to useI was really excited to get this app and loved the trial so much that I downloaded the full premium version. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed... I paid to have two languages but cannot learn two languages at the same time which is quite frustrating given that I paid for the full version. You have to switch between languages and can only have one per day. Additionally, as a near fluent speaker, I find the lack of words annoying. There are many words I want to learn but cannot. There is not even a way to add them yourself. Also for French, there are no articles which makes telling the gender of words difficult at times. The pronunciation for many words is the wrong word, so the tests are frustrating. Also crashes occasionally, especially when switching languages. I like having the words for your (only one!) language selected for the day show up as often as you want on the lock screen though, that's neat. UPDATE: Garbage app. The pausing of new words does not work and the selection is very poor and limited. You cannot simply go back and look at your words from other days before being forcefed 10 new words for the day. Horrible if you want to focus on certain words and ignore their useless word choice system. Do not buy. Also devs are not responsive to my questions or complaints..Version: 4.7

✓ Way too easyNice interface, but really it's just a glorified "word a day" app (but with 10 words, of course). It's nice for discovering new words, though the definitions and uses are unclear for words with multiple meanings. It's nice that it (sometimes) shows usage of the word on Twitter, however. The testing - which should be the crux of the app - seems pointless, as you are shown the words then asked to identify the meaning in a multiple choice question immediately after. This even happens when revising words learnt on previous days - it would make more sense to just go straight into the test question instead of showing you the answer immediately beforehand every time..Version: 4.6
