MyLightMeter PRO for Positive User Reviews

On par with spot meter in OM4I tested this along side my Olympus OM4t’s internal spot meter and it was spot on. Only downside is it’s kinda fussy with 200 iso on 6x7 cameras. Especially the 6x7 because it will tell you f stops that you don’t have. But that’s partially the fact that the lens doesn’t give display every f stop. Overall this app work’s impressively well. Makes film photography more accessible witch is needed with how expensive film is..Version: 1.9.8

Great app.A great application light-meter. I regularly use it for both film and digital photography. I’ve even made the defuser for incident readings..Version: 1.8.8

Surprisingly accurateI tried the free version of this and was happy that my images came out looking great. So I bought the pro version because it beats paying $300 for Sekonic. I'll still use my actual light meter for bigger projects, or if I'm using strobes. But the handiness having an accurate light meter in my pocket all the time can't be understated. Great app..Version: 1.5

Great AppI’m sure, like me, this will be the only meter you’ll need. It’s fully comprehensive but easy to use. Buy it now!!.Version: 1.8.8

Wow!I was a little Leary when I first found this app. I wondered how a camera phone and software could accurately measure light. After all, physical light meters are quite expensive. However after reading the reviews and looking at just a few dollars for the app, I decided to pull the shutter! I am not disappointed!! As soon as it was downloaded, I set up three different product shots in my studio. I measured the different lighting using Led always-on lights and then switched out to 2 strobes. The accuracy of this app blew me away! Out of three setups and several images captured, None were off the mark. Thank you for creating this app. I am so glad I found it!.Version: 1.8.11

So easy to useI’ve been shooting over 40 years , mostly with 3 Rolleiflex TLRs. Every so often come across a quirky situation , and this works as well and even easier than my Minolta digital meter. And I always have my phone..Version: 1.8.8

Buy this appI don’t ever rate apps but as a film photographer I feel as if I have to help out this independent app developer. I do not own an actual light meter but this app gives me the proper exposure settings for 1/20th of the cost. I will eventually go out and spend the money on a light meter but until then, this app suits my needs 100%. I shoot with a Mamiya RB67 and some Canon and Olympus 35mm SLRs and this app never fails any of the cameras..Version: 1.8.11

Accurate and easy to useI purchased this app to use with a vintage film camera. I tested it against my traditional analogue light meter and against the meter in my Digital SLR and it was really accurate. The proof was in the pictures which were really well exposed. This app is easy to use. No bugs. I prefer using it in classic mode but that's because I am used to working with a manual light meter. Well worth investing in the full app..Version: 1.5

Classic looking light meterGood app. Fairly accurate. I’ve used it with my Leica M3, and the pictures turned out great..Version: 1.5

For Instant Cameras—-Update.The developer added the three Instax formats as separate film sizes!!! Perfect!!! I use this app primarily with different instant cameras including the Mint RF70 and SLR 670. Really allows me to nail the exposure and concentrate on the image. Emailed the developer about the hyperfocal distance for the RF70 and he advised using the 4x5” film size as a conservative measurement. Great app!!!.Version: 1.9.7

Very accurate, great light meter!I have used this app for a couple of years now with my film cameras and found it very useful. Highly recommend it. Tested it with my Canon pro DSLR (took digital photo based on reading from app) and couldn't fault it. I have several "proper" light meters but this one gets used the most 'cause it's right there in my pocket! Cheapest meter I own, and very simple/quick to use. The free version works well too, but definitely worth upgrading for the extra features. I haven't really used the "incident metering" function because I don't have a diffuser, but "reflected metering" suits me. I really like the fact that on the "Pro" screen (as opposed to the retro-looking one) you can bring up a full screen picture and see the brightness change as you move around; ie. it gives you a preview of what your photo will look like before you take the reading, very handy! Also I like the fact that you can meter off just a small patch of the picture, possibly ~10 degree spot. Exposure compensation is very handy, as is the hyperfocal info (available when you save your lens specs to the presets); I like having the ISO right up front too because I'm often using 3-4 cameras with different film emulsions and need to change it often. It really does meter to -4EV, and has proved accurate when I've used it under moonlight! Very good feature, rare even on professional (read: expensive!) meters. I've tried several other similar apps, this is my favourite. Definitely a thumbs up!!.Version: 1.5

Aperture shiftWhen saving presets, why does the aperture not stay as set in the custom tabs, my Rollei aperture f22, my Olympus O-M1 is f16..Version: 1.18.17

Great appEasy to operate, always at hand and remarkably accurate..Version: 1.5

The BestThis is by far the best and most comprehensive meter, and you have your phone with you, you have your meter with you, no more digging around in your bag, or changing batteries. The Pro version is the way to go.Version: 1.5

My light meterAbsolutely first class app. Many of us older photographers have great lenses that can only be used in manual mode with digital cameras. This app opens makes it easy to use. It is accurate so full marks..Version: 1.4.5

Nicely DoneI am a collector of vintage photography. I have hundreds of cameras, in just about every format. I really appreciate all of them and their differences. Using this app has been a joy to use for all my toys. I, like others was a little unsure about getting the app but I heard so many great things and reviews, I figured I’d try it. Using this app and my own way of doing certain things over the years I get very nice results. It is truly a great app to have with you all the time..Version: 1.8.18

Handy to haveHaving a light meter in your pocket all the time, brilliant. Simple to use and accurate..Version: 1.4.11

Bonne applicationFait très bien le travail. Facile et agréable d'utilisation..Version: 1.8.11

Very good appI have compared the app results with two cameras and it seems accurate. Recommended..Version: 1.4.4

Good light meterTop quality meter works really well gives readings every bit as good as my Weston & my Gossen. It's on a par with my in camera meters D3 F5&6 etc. Used properly this meter is good kit it's you're skills which will decide the captured image this meter will assist you in that choice. Using it will enhance your photographic experience enabling a closer feeling with your work. Would I recommend this to a friend, yes & I have done..Version: 1.4.11

It’s legitI use this meter with my Yashica TLR and a few old Kodaks and a Zeiss Ikon netar. It is spot on. It has helped me take wonderful photographs. I have used it next to my Sekonic light meter and this app is its twin. It’s like a spot meter and an incident like meter at the same time. Highly recommend!.Version: 1.8.11

A well-designed lightmeter appThis app is the most efficient and easy to use light meter app. The perfect tool to use with my manual camera..Version: 1.5

Excellent light meter on iPhone 6Accurate, versatile and easy to use. I find it easy to set my canon 6D DSLR on manual mode using this app. It's also fun to see what settings you need in different lighting conditions..Version: 1.4.8

Fantastic appI had a lot of trouble getting my account recognized at first, but customer service stepped up to the plate and fixed it. Worth it! Spectacular maps and features and definitely eclipses my old Garmin. Of course, get a battery to prolong walking around, and iPhone screens are iffy in the sun, but none of that is the app’s fault. Love it! And thank you customer service..Version: 1.9.6

Straightforward and accurateA great product that helps those with vintage or LOMO cameras get the best exposure possible..Version: 1.0.1

Classic design backed up by accuracyA handy app to take readings when out and about with meterless vintage cameras. The Gossen-inspired UI works a treat..Version: 1.4.11

FantasticI’m an amateur photographer, learning the art of photography. This app helps me a lot, especially in low light..Version: 1.5

Well-designed and accurateGreat app. Very accurate so far..Version: 1.8.3

Great AppThis is really nice app to use. Gives accurate readings and has choice of interfaces that are quick and detailed. Highly recommend..Version: 1.8.1

A great light meter appThis is an accurate, versatile light meter with a wide range of settings and the most analog feel of any light meter app available. Pairs nicely with an old analog film camera for a retro feel on a digital device..Version: 1.5

PERFECT!!I calibrated myLightmeter Pro to my Leica's meter. I went on a trip to New York a few weeks ago with my Rolleiflex and iPhone. This app was the perfect companion. Very happy with how it worked. It's simple with its shutter speed and aperture dials work together. Real "Old School" feel. I recommend this app..Version: 1.4.11

First rateI’ve been using the app to measure exposures for my classic Rollei TLR. I found the lens and format feature in the Pro app very useful indeed for accurate results. A small price to pay for a very professional app..Version: 1.5

Excellent appI have an old western master and this is just like using the real thing. Well done!.Version: 1.4.11

Super helpful!!I use this app with my Yashica Mat 124-G since the meter on the camera is broken, and it works great! My exposures are consistently correct when I use it and it’s a much more affordable option than a “real” handheld meter..Version: 1.8

MyLightMeter PROVery easy to use a surprisingly accurate. I would’ve swap my normal hand held meter for it, but it is as good if not better than my cameras meter and faster to compare options.Version: 1.5

Brilliant app, Responsive support.Recently I had noticed a to EV reading discrepancy between the classic and pro modes. David responded to my email within literally minutes and gave me some things to look at. Ultimately fixing the issue was simply deleting the app, rebooting my phone, and then reinstalling. In hindsight I should’ve known to try this first, but it was good to have a brief conversation with the developer. Excellent app, super support!.Version: 1.9.4

Works AmazingJust went back to black and white film. Once I got this light meter app it changed how great the photos are coming out. It works amazing I don’t even use the hand held light meter this is easier especially when trying to shoot quick..Version: 1.9.8

Excellent AppI really don't know much about photography. I just wanted an app that would consistently quantify brightness. I surely can't make heads or tails of the PRO version but what impresses me is how consistently reads room light even with the lights out or sunlight. I have that other app that gives lumens and color temperature but it is not consistant. This app is a real tool..Version: 1.8.8

Excellent meter for my film camerasInvaluable when I forget to pack my Weston Master meter when using a TLR on the tripod. I must say that I find the meter very accurate for the majority of photographic situations and can wholeheartedly recommend it..Version: 1.8.8

Well worth it.I’ve tried a few light meter apps. The interface and features here just gelled with me. The traditional look plus all the options and extra features Male this far more than just a light meter. My favourite feature is the presets where you can set focal length, Max aperture and frame size. Great if you use film in different formats. You can even set it for a Polaroid if you have a Mint version with manual control..Version: 1.8.8

Excellent AppThis meter has got to be one of the best apps on my phone. So easy to use and incredibly accurate. David is more than willing to help with any issues. Highly recommended..Version: 1.4.11

Accurate and convenient! The only digital thing I use when I shoot. Accurate and flexible..Version: 1.4.7

Wasn't it suppose to give an average?I press The average button, then i take more than one light reading which should give The average between the previous readings and The last one every time i press hold and read the light....but it simply doesn't work :( Did anybody find out? A part of that works good.Version: 1.4.11

Very Nice AppDoes the job well. Accurate as far as I can tell..Version: 1.5

ExcellentI first reviewed this app some time ago and found it less than accurate. With subsequent updates it has gradually improved to the point where it is now my go-to meter. I use it only with my film cameras but it gives me an accurate exposure every time. The Save feature is a boon as it gives me a preview of what I can expect, a bit like the old days using Polaroid’s to preview. A good buy..Version: 1.8

Accurate, easy to use and attractiveI’ve been using this app for over a year for film photography with vintage film cameras, many of which are so old they don’t have light meters. The meter readings are accurate and I’ve had great results from many films. I used to carry my Sekonic light meters but the accuracy of the readings from the app makes that unnecessary. I find it really useful to be able to zoom to spot meter subjects at a distance with the app. This is my most used photography app. I love the vintage styling and simple operation..Version: 1.8.21

I absolutely love this light meter but...It turns down my volume every time I open it. It’s a deadly accurate meter, my film comes out perfect while using it and I absolutely love it. But if you’re listening to music and trying to meter, it takes over the volume and mutes it. It’s a bug that’s never been fixed and it’s aggravating..Version: 1.5

Tremendous supportI am new to rangefinder photography and using a light meter. I downloaded myLightMeter Pro a little while back and am now working to get proficient with it. I had a question regarding its use that I could not sort out via web searches, etc. I emailed David, the developer, and he responded in roughly 12 hours with the answer. That’s tremendous support and I wish o could vibe him 10 stars for it..Version: 1.5

ConsistentThe app generates consistently useable metering values, and as such can prove useful when one doesn't have a dedicated light meter to hand. Even using films like Velvia, with a half stop latitude, the app generates exposures that are useable..Version: 1.4.7

Good alternativeGreat app. Worth the money especially considering the price for a real dedicated meter. The pro version is worth it just for the fact that it remembers your iso..Version: 1.4.10

Great app.Works as it should..Version: 1.5

Quite simply brilliant!Probably the most useful app I have. As accurate as my Sekonic, once calibrated, but always in my pocket! If you're a photographer with manual cameras, you need this..Version: 1.4.11

All I needI shoot black and white on a vintage film camera and develop the negatives myself. I use this as my only light meter as the camera doesn't have one built in. Results are consistent and good. Recommend highly..Version: 1.4.11

Very AccurateI am a camera repair technician, I recommend this app to my customers that have cameras with non- functioning light meters, due to it's accuracy. The only wish I have is that the hyperfocal distances could be toggled from meters to feet..Version: 1.5

Great for old camerasSo I bought a few old cameras (mamiya c220, hasselblad 500cm) and none of them have a light meter, I was going to buy a dedicated meter but they are expensive and I don’t mind it but I will not use this cameras as my main format for now, so I tried this app (the pro version because a few dollars is nothing in the photography world) and the results where beyond my expectations!! Very impressive, very simple, and is in my pocket all the time :) thank you for such clever and great app!!.Version: 1.5

Accurate light meterExcellent, well written application. What it does is very well implemented. The accuracy across a the available range of exposure readings is astonishingly good. It is easy to use and the classic light meter face will be familiar to anyone who has used a separate hand-held exposure meter. The digital face of the Pro display shows EV and plus or minus two f stops can be set. 5 lens preset values, distances and average readings are available. Tapping on the window displaying the scene to be measured allows a more accurate measurement to be made. Incident readings are possible if a plastic dome is placed over the front camera. All in all, a simple and effective tool for reflected light readings. I have not tested the incident readings but suspect they too will be accurate..Version: 1.4.11

QualityEasy to use, ideal for confirming lighting issues and always available. You can't fault the quality of this App..Version: 1.4.11

Easy to use and accurateSeems to get the exposure right every time, loads of flexibility and options if you need them, gets out of the way when you don't..Version: 1.4.11

Better than any regular meterIt has a better range than any hand held light meter ive ever used..Version: 1.4.11

Fantastic! This is a wonderful app that fits the bill for my needs. I use it for settings and conversions when I shoot with my pinhole camera and have had no issues..Version: 1.5

A second life for an old camera.A great app that allowed me to resurrect a great old Spotmatic. The ability to set profiles to match your lenses is great..Version: 1.4.10

Works wellActually, works better than I thought it would have. Seems to be accurate and a worthwhile purchase..Version: 1.4.11

Pro PhotographerVery accurate and well built software with useful features. Spot metering and EV scale are essential features. Nice design as well. Very pleased..Version: 1.8.11

First RateThis is easy to use and is accurate enough to help the budding photographer..Version: 1.8.7

Works wellVery good app. Better than most built-in meters on older film cameras and surprisingly accurate compared with an expensive modern hand held meter..Version: 1.8.8

Good app, accurateThis is a nice app and is accurate. I have cross checked it against a couple of cameras, and it produces good accurate results, both on iPhone and iPad. I prefer the Classic, simple, presentation to the Pro one for general use. The Pro has every bell and whistle and takes a bit of consideration to use. Can recommend this..Version: 1.4.4

Great appLooked be this app, excellent..Version: 1.5

This app can help you learnGuys!!! It works 👍 and works consistently! Great application. Many thanks.Version: 1.5

Very handy lightmeterI like this meter. I have a couple of medium format cameras with no metering so this gives me spot on results when using them. Very simple to use..Version: 1.5

Almost perfect! An excellent app in every respect - fun to use and with excellent accuracy and setting options - except that the ‘ISO setting’ control, presently accessible on the front of the hand meter by simply swiping your finger up or down the screen - is too easy to accidentally change without realising it. It would be better to have the ISO setting control more deeply buried in the Pro screen or in Settings. This app will be used by film photographers, and film photographers don’t change their film’s ISO very often, and certainly never in mid-roll. Think back to a real old fashioned light meter and how relatively difficult it used to be to change the ASA/ISO setting; this app should be the same! Otherwise 5 Stars!.Version: 1.8.11

Useful appSeems to compare well to high end dslr.Version: 1.8.8

Even an amateur can use it.Simple to use and gives accurate readings so you can set the exposure on your camera with confidence. I use an old Canon A1 and I think my photos have improved since I’ve been using this light meter app..Version: 1.5

Great functionality and valueI use this exclusively with my Bronica ETRS. Accurate and easy to use. Saved me ££ over the cost of a dedicated light meter and one less device to carry. Well designed and fun interface complements its functionality. Recommended!.Version: 1.4.11

Like it a lotEasy to understand and simple to use.Version: 1.5

AccurateJust missing f/1.7 for some reason, max aperture of my 40mm lens, otherwise works great.Version: 1.4.11

Very accurate light meter! As a professional photographer, I highly recommend this app. Shooting with film or even digital, I use it to set my camera’s up, or double check the camera’s readings..Version: 1.9.8

My favourite lightmeterVery handy. Nice UI. Recommended..Version: 1.5

Worth itJust got my photos back from the developer and they look amazing. Each photo was exposed properly! I didn’t have a working light meter in my film camera so I decided to try this app out based off of a YouTuber’s recommendation, and it works well. No issues for me. I would definitely recommend..Version: 1.8.8

It works.I was skeptical about this product when dedicated light meters are hundreds of dollars. But, I wanted to give it a try. I put this alongside my brand new Sony A7 III and metered a few dozen locations, indoors and outside. This meter app was within 1/3 of a stop each time or dead on the money. Well worth the purchase price..Version: 1.8.8

Awesome Light MeterAfter testing the light meter through low light conditions in comparison to my Sekonic, the meter is off by 1/3, luckily the app’s settings allow you to include 1/3+ to all future readings. Sometimes I’d forget my meter at home, and this app is going to help a megaton as a backup..Version: 1.9.8

Versatile and well made appI really like the classic mode of this app. It shows you all the combinations of f/stop and shutter speed possible for correct exposure. It works in both reflective and inductive metering if you have a lumisphere for your camera. The app is limited to how accurate your phone's metering is, but is still a pretty inexpensive way to meter regardless. Also includes exposure compensation, could do with having a continuous metering but other than that well worth the money as is very nicely made..Version: 1.4.10

Works flawlessly. Game changer.I’m an amateur film photographer with a highly limited short-term memory. This app enables shooting in very odd lighting conditions on cameras with a limited choice of shutter speed (one of my cameras is from the 1940s), and removes the risk that I divide wrong and ruin an exposure..Version: 1.9.8

GreatWorks as it should..Version: 1.8.4

Works great for Wet Plate Collodion as wellI found that the app has setting for Daguerreotype. Even though collodion isn’t daguerreotype it is pretty close. As a beginning wet plate photographer, I didn’t have the experience to get a good starting exposure. Using this app in daguerreotype mode, I can usually nail the first exposure..Version: 1.9.8

A Great SurpriseCompared to my highly accurate Gossens this meter is surprisingly accurate. Frankly, I was skeptical of a phone based meter until I made comparisons under various lighting conditions to the the Gossens..Version: 1.8.8

FantasticTruly useful apps are thin on the ground but this really is fantastic. The 'always in your pocket' advantage of a light meter app makes carrying and using my Zeiss Nettar a practical proposition again..Version: 1.4.11

Diffuser for incident lightingWould appreciate if the developer could recommend a diffuser for an iPhone. Not sure what to use. Impressive app..Version: 1.8.22

Very helpful and accurateLove this amazing app..Version: 1.4.4

Go to lightmeterFor shooting with my Hasselblad, this is the first light meter I go to. I’ve bought the Pro version, and recommend it as a excellent tool..Version: 1.5

Very handyThis is a great app. I’ve found it to be quite accurate. A feature I like is the ability to match the meter to specific focal length lenses. As I always have my phone with me, it saves the space that would be taken by a separate meter. The camera I muse it with is a Mamiya C330 Professional S and my normal meters are a Gossen Luna Pro and a Pentax Spotmeter.Version: 1.8.8

This can be your only light meterThis app stays on my home screen because I get accurate results with something I always have wiith me. I like the lens presets as I can make one for each of my vintage rangefinders and if I want, compensate for filter factors at the same time..Version: 1.4.11

Excellent App!This is the business. I've tested both of these it against in iPad and iPod touch versions, against a couple of prosumer digital cameras, a film camera and a light meter and it is remarkably accurate, and consistent between both platforms. It is way better than I'd expected. This app is straightforward if you have even a passing acquaintance with a real light meter. I haven't spotted any bugs yet. I only review apps that really impress me - this one does..Version: 1.4.4

Perfect tool to use in studio photography!!!Perfect tool to use in studio photography!!!.Version: 1.5

Perfect companion to an analog photographer on the runI compared readings of the incident classic meter with my Sekonic L 398 and it's pretty spot on. The only thing lacking is the 3 dimensional reading that you get from a lumisphere, so the app is better suited for individual readings on contrasted situations..Version: 1.5

Great AppI’ll use this app on photo shoots when I’m shooting cameras like a Mamiya C330 or RB67 that don’t have meters. Outside during the day I’m happy to go with just “sunny16,” but shooting indoors or in more of a studio environment with film cameras, this app has been very helpful. Thanks guys!.Version: 1.5

Fab!Accurate, great spot meter, easy to use, no fuss no muss.Version: 1.4.11

Accurate and easy to useWell implemented app. Checked against my Weston light meter, and it seems to be really accurate. Easier to read and interpret too..Version: 1.5

Meter in ya pocketNot used this app with my camera that yet. However, it works just like my old Gossen light meter and it has some nice features like the hyper focal distance reading which is good for landscape photography..Version: 1.4.4

Must haveThis is simply a great solution elegantly done. I use this App every time I pick up my camera and use it to even make me want to take pictures even more. Just love it and am still getting to the point where I know all its features..Version: 1.8.3

Super convenient and accurateI love this app and have been using it for years! As long as I have my phone I always have a light meter. It’s very accurate, gets the same reading as my friend’s $200 “professional” meter. Works for everyday shooting and for large format work as well. Highly recommended..Version: 1.8.8

Love this appSuper helpful! usually have no issues until today. my camera is working outside of the app but not in app. just a white screen. :(.Version: 1.8.2

Easy, Intuitive, use for FilmHandy for all kinds of film and all kinds of film cameras. From 35 mm to large format bellows cameras and medium format film!.Version: 1.9.7

Works well for film and certain digitalsSince I do a bit of film and have an EOS-M that doesn’t preview manual lenses well, this app is a perfect fit for me. In addition, I can take comparison shots on various apps and get an idea for how I can make film presets in On1..Version: 1.5

Outstanding!I shoot a lot of film on vintage cameras, and I find that this meter is unbelievably accurate. I have a Luna six classic light meter which works as well, but having a program on my phone which is always in my pocket, makes this a true winner!.Version: 1.8.21

Best meter app and great support!I’ve been using this app regularly for nearly six years in combination with a Sekonic meter. By adjusting the EV setting, you can match the app to a traditional meter for even more accuracy. For the first time, after a recent update, I had problems with the app. I reached out to David and had a reply, including a work around within hours. The app was updated again within days and has been trouble free. It says a lot when a app has one problem in many years of use..Version: 1.8.7

Great appVery handy and very useful!.Version: 1.8.8

Works very wellI shot a roll of Portra 400 through my vintage Kodak Retina camera using only the setting recommended by this app and the exposures were spot on..Version: 1.9.8

Very clever appI love this app. The developer thought in everything. Very convenient to have it as part of my iPhone. I had used another for this same purpose; but was disappointed. It also has an excellent personalized support. Congratulations to David for such an excellent work..Version: 1.8.11

My Light MeterAn excellent tool for amateur and serious photographers. I would put up against any light meter..Version: 1.5

Very commendable light meter. This app works extremely well. I have used it next to my LunaPro and it's very accurate!.Version: 1.4.11

Seems to work wellRecently I unearthed an old film camera and, on finding the exposure meter battery dead, decided to go manual and try a light meter app instead. So far I'm very happy with this. Minor quibbles: I don't think the average mode is working for me, and I'd like finer grained options in the lens presets (e.g. I have a lens with a max aperture of f1.7, but the app only includes f1.6 or f1.8 as nearest choices). As I say, minor quibbles. Overall, cheaper than the battery I would have had to buy, and much cheaper than a dedicated light meter. Thanks..Version: 1.4.5

Love this appJust bought a Soviet era camera and this app is invaluable. Just one tiny issue. The default setting is aperture priority which gives me a further one handed operation to complete. Can the default be changed to shutter speed priority?.Version: 1.9.7

Wonderful tool!Just found this app: love it! The graphics are really cool, and it measures up well against my trusty Weston Master 3. The hyper focal guide looks to be useful too - never had much faith in the marks on the lens. Two slight drawbacks. Incorporating a colour temperature meter would be useful (I currently use another light meter app which is not so good, and being free has animated ads all over the place). But it does give a colour temp reading which is occasionally useful. The other is the spot reading frame which is too big to really be a spot meter. I know, who uses the Zone system now, but the principles can still be useful. But a great app, and well worth the price!.Version: 1.9.4

Very good for all types of photographyI use this for both digital and film. It is really excellent for my large format and it does exactly what it says on the tin! Great app thanks!.Version: 1.4.11

Good, but...This app is pretty awesome, I found it to be super reliable as to what exposure it says. I matched it with my in-camera light meter and didn't find any problems. However, I found that about 1/3 of the time it would crash as soon as I opened it. Every thing else it great though given the price..Version: 1.8

Doesn’t work anymoreI’ve been using the free version and is great But since I got the new iPhone and the update the app stop working. I only see a black screen Please help..Version: 1.8.8

Love it but latest version crashes ever time I use itI tried to contact you via your support page rather than use a review to report this but it looks like your me.com account is no longer valid and I could not find any other contact info. The latest version of the app (I am using iPhone XS) crashes every time it goes to the background (including when the lock screen is used) causing me to have to reopen the app and choose my settings every time I want to take a picture which is time consuming and error prone. I use classic mode exclusively but the app always reopens in pro mode on me and sometime rests the iso value. Otherwise I really enjoy the app and hope this crash can be resolved quickly so I do not need to find a new light meter app. Thanks..Version: 1.8.2

Nice app but one suggestionHi I really like ur app, but I wonder could u add a new function "save to log" into the app, so that I don't have to take notes on what aperture and shutter speed I was using? Thanks a lot!.Version: 1.4.3

Very useful and accurateGreat reflective light metre..Version: 1.8.8

Works wellTested against two DSLR cameras and this app is accurate with the same readings as the DSLR cameras..Version: 1.8.8

A Lightmeter You Always Have On YouWith my digital and film slrs with there auto everything, it’s nice to have an accurate meter with me when I take a fully manual camera out. It’s as accurate as my Gossen Luna Pro F and my old Sekonics. Thanks for keeping the app updated. Very handy to have with me all the time..Version: 1.8.11

I use it almost every dayI highly rate this app which I use in concert with the Luxi incident light meter dome attachment on an old iPhone. I use it almost every day in my home tabletop studio and it is very accurate and intuitive to use, especially in the Classic mode which is very reminiscent of the Weston Master meter I used 40+ years ago..Version: 1.8.11

Good appPretty accurate across most conditions. Very handy to have on the phone..Version: 1.5

Works as ClaimedA great accessory for tricky lighting situations..Version: 1.5

Surprisingly reliableI first use the free version. I liked it. But now with the pro version, I love this like meter. It’s perhaps my favorite app, and I’m not and apps. I highly recommend the Pro version..Version: 1.5

5 StarsWorks remarkably well. Very pleasantly surprised. Keep up the great wail guys..Version: 1.4.11

Handier than my Gossen Luna ProI use a 1955 Rolleicord V when I shoot film (Ilford HP5 - 400). I like to carry as few things as possible - just the camera - and I would often leave my light-meter behind when I went out to shoot, relying on having memorized the “Sunny 16” rule to determine my exposure settings. I bought this meter after trying the free version. I always have my iPhone in my pocket, and this apps blend of features and skewmorpic similarity to a meter I am familiar with is just great. I’m quite pleased with all the features and settings and look forward to having the meter handy always. Thanks!.Version: 1.5

A+Great app . I highly recommend it !.Version: 1.5

ExcellentMatches my Nikon D700 reflected light reading exactly. Lots of options on the pro model, really well thought out and easy to use with a PDF manual available online..Version: 1.4.11

Very goodSimple and easy to use..Version: 1.5

Very useful for older film cameras!I use both old and new instant cameras (Polaroid and Instax) and old 35mm Canon film SLRs. This has been very useful for managing exposure expectations with the relatively simple Polaroid and Instax cameras and double checking the performance of my old SLRs. Some options are a little confusing and maybe unnecessary?.Version: 1.5

Worth itHelps me to shot hundreds of photos with accurate light data. If you’re a film lover, this is the app you want..Version: 1.8.26

Works extremely well!I'm surprised how well this app does actually work, and in the few instances it has appeared not to, it's been the sensor that has been incorrect or mislabelled (or deceptively ISO rated) - it always functions perfectly for film. Knowledge of how to meter is required, so don't expect perfection without a little background knowledge; I happily rely on this with all my film gear however..Version: 1.4.5

Very AccurateThis is a great app, it’s right on. I’ve measured it against multiple light meters, including the excellent meter in a new leica MP and it’s great. There are a few features I wish it had, I wish I could save the measurements, lens and aperture/shutter and phone photo it’s taking, so I don’t have to keep a notebook of shots as well. I also wish it had frame lines for the lens it’s got as a preset. But as a simple light meter, it’s excellent. I stopped carrying an additional meter after testing it..Version: 1.8.11

Great app, well made.Would definitely recommend. Solid app. Good functionality..Version: 1.4.11

Nearly there - recommendedI have used this App with my medium format film cameras and I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised by its accuracy. If it had a vario angle spot meter between 1 and 10 degrees and had the functionality of being able to take the average of multiple spot readings then the App would be awarded five stars. Recommended..Version: 1.4.11

ImpressedI was a bit skeptical at first but I just picked up a camera with no meter and needed something quick for a trip and for only $3 it was worth a try compared to buying an expensive meter. I received scans back from the lab and all of the exposures were metered exactly how I intended when using the app(used in pro mode with selective metering). I like to travel with the least I can and always have my phone on me so I’ll keep using this app in the future..Version: 1.8.22

One less thing to remember to bringThis is such a great app. Handy and reliable. Love the vintage GUI. Easy to use..Version: 1.5
