Mostly Great with some technical issuesFor the most part, this app works great with a great selection of music available. My only disappointment with the app is that I typically lose control of the album I am listening to. The album will play, but I can’t pause or stop playback without closing the app. Sometimes the album just stops after a track. I also get spontaneous shuffling or repeats. I also don’t care for the fact that after an album plays through, I get a random album starting, not from the same artist or anything from my library. It’s usually something way out there and unrelated, I have to pay attention when an album I choose is ending to stop the next random album from playing, especially when there is anyone else in hearing range like kids so I’m not suddenly surprised by a profane or screaming album. It’s embarassing because I don’t want anyone to think these random albums are something I chose. These faults are never predictable either, so I’m not sure whats happening..Version: 7.4.6

Fine, But needs fixesThis app is fine, and nice at some times. But there is a whole load of problems. For starters, the album art will not save if you download the album, the album will not have any album art, or really low quality album art. Another thing is that once you download an album, you can’t get the space off your phone if you delete it. So if I want to delete an album and delete it, my storage does not change. Finally, the servers are so buggy. They keep on deleting songs and having extra albums. Some albums songs have been deleted and I cannot listen to the full album. The Final Cut and The Division Bell were deleted for no reason..Version: 5.18

Just not what it used to beHello, I have used this app for years now, and ever since the new version update, the app keeps cutting out, freezing, not downloading, and simply just not working on most days. I’ve had many complications recently and not happy about it. I’m this app, you can download unlimited songs, but, if you have to uninstall the app, you will lose all your downloads. I think that is nonsense since I’m this app, you have an account, so therefore why doesn’t the songs stay within your account? I don’t know I’m not the genius behind this. Anyway, I’m very disappointed in this music app. It just got sold to new corporation, that may be why it isn’t working properly. Been great for years but now it isn’t worth a dime. Don’t waste your time on this app..Version: 8.0.1

Great app gone badI’ve had this app for YEARS and I mean yeeaaarrsss. It has been amazing and a great service to have, until the past month or so when they completely updated and remodeled the app. Now all it does is crash, delete my playlists, and crash and crash and crash. I mean I can’t even open my profile without the app crashing. I click on a playlist, crash. I try to search an artist, crash. Sometimes, the music just doesn’t play at all! And it takes me closing and reopening the app time and time again hoping the problem suddenly works one time. It usually doesn’t. My suggestion, whatever they did to change the app, just change it back. It’s practically useless now..Version: 8.0.1

Do not subscribeI’m deleting this app and not looking back. I’ve had various issues with it. I had my account hacked and someone was using my profile, it took me days to get it figured out. The app is trying way too hard in 2022 with music videos and crap “radio” playlists. More recently I had issues where I would get signed out of the app while using it and l would be constantly resigning in or the other issue where it would play one song and stop or just stop in the middle of the song and I’d have to sign in again. Today was the final straw I was signed in and I was listed as another user and on their private profile and had access to that persons playlists. Developers please do not respond unless you have a refund ready. You can pay me to do your job..Version: 8.0.6

Getting thereOnce again I am a longtime subscriber I just had to delete the whole app and start over on downloading my music. Because it stayed stuck on the stupid music video screen blacked out and wouldn’t let me get to anything playlist nothing. It will freeze there and we are stuck please fix. Since the new update tho it doesn’t freeze but now it constantly skips over music. I can have my playlist going and it just randomly skips songs and I have to go back in and click on songs it skips and it’s not on shuffle. So constantly throwing off music vibes when i am trying to listen and relax so now I don’t use my playlist it even does it in the favorites just randomly skips over songs sometimes one and sometimes it will skip over six songs. For instance all my Whitney songs as you know are in order a to Z. I’ll start at the top it will play that one skip to the middle and when I try to go back to start a song over it will be a whole different song and eventually it will skip back to the end of beginning and stop playing. Also it doesn’t continue a song anymore if I am listening and get a call it I can either answer or decline and than it will start the whole song over even if it’s in the middle..Version: 8.0.9

Too many glitchesThis app glitches so often. We upgraded to the family subscription so we could use the app at the same time on more than one device and it worked ok for awhile and then started randomly kicking me or my kids off saying that we needed to pay for a family plan if we wanted more than one person to use it. This has been happening for months now, and I’ve been paying for that plan the whole time, with the same 4 people using it in my house. Plus it seems to crash a lot, or not let you sign in and says to try again later. This is the kind of thing I would expect from a free app, not one that I pay $20 a month for..Version: 8.1.1

Can’t SearchI don’t know what’s going on but I have never had an issue with this app until today. I can’t search for artists anymore. Whenever I search for a musician that I know is on the app, because I have their music downloaded, nothing shows up in the search results. So I can’t find my music. It is especially frustrating if I haven’t downloaded an any music from artist yet. I have no way to get to them, because nothing shows up in the search results. This is incredibly frustrating and I can’t figure out what is wrong. How am I supposed to listen to music if I can’t search the database of artists and albums that the app provides? Please fix this bug/issue..Version: 8.0.1

Needs update for IPhone XIn general I like this app, and would probably otherwise rate it four or five stars. However, the interface apparently hasn’t been updated for iPhone X and is somewhat broken. The most obvious issue is that the menu bar at the top of many of the screen is almost 3/4ths covered by the rest of the interface. For example, the menu “hamburger,” the three bars that call up the menu: Only the top bar can (barely) be seen, and can be difficult to actuate. Without pictures, it’s a little hard to describe some of the issues. Some of the icons can be difficult to actuate. For example, while you’re on the song screen, there’s a down caret in the upper left to go back to the album screen, but it’s just barely outside the “forbidden” to area to the left of the iPhone X notch. It can be pressed, but it often takes a few tries..Version: 5.13.2

Downloaded vs. playlistsThis app keeps deleting all of my downloads. Third time this year. If I’m gonna have to keep making a downloaded library I might as well do it on another app. As a customer my time is valuable. The service department does not seem to actually read my report of what’s wrong and want ms to keep talking about playlists that I don’t even use. Then they tell me to make a playlist of downloaded songs… well I don’t have downloaded songs because the app keeps deleting the downloaded songs. Only the dumbest support team would tell me to make a playlist of my downloaded music, while I’m complaining about not having downloaded music anymore. I thought I rode the short bus and licked the windows, but no it seems to be this app and the schnoz berries are in season..Version: 8.1.4

RateI’ve had this app for 5+ years. I understand bugs and updates and platform changes come in with that, I used to love this app and had little to no problems, but not being able to find artists or songs in the search is def a problem, also my biggest problem is that when I put it on shuffle 70% of the time it will play 1 song then lock up I’ll have to close and refresh the app which is very frustrating when your trying to workout or work in a shop, the music quality has declined not sure for what reason and also when I go to download a playlist I made form my library it will only download maybe 50% of them even if I’m on WiFi. I’ve rocked with this app and have some dope playlists, but with other downloadable music apps out there and reviews that down have common problem’s such as these I’ve listed, I’ve been thinking of making a switch although it will be hard to do so, cause I feel like I’ve been with y’all for so long. Terrible updateThe newest update has completely ruined this app. my music always stalls now and has trouble playing songs (unable to cast) in general, especially off wifi. Taking away the numbers and letters on the side of the playlists to quickly be able to scroll through them has been taken away which is just awful for long playlists. queue has also been changed which i understand but all of the songs i had previously added to it has been lost:(. i’ve also had trouble with the music stopping when i close the app on a few occasions. i loved this app before the newest update with a few exceptions. i personally don’t think music videos are as relevant as the music being able to work. this is a music app..Version: 8.0.1

Not good anymore.Had the service for a really long time. The crashes, glitches, and getting logged out has happened almost every day for a month or so. I listen to music all day so it has been frustrating. The tech support tries to help and is responsive but the issues just come back over and over. Are the issues so bad that they cannot push updates to improve? Most applications have updates to fix bugs and stability and given it has had issues most of the year I’m not sure if it is being worked on. Again, the people handling the customer service tickets do reply to inquiries but the issues have persisted with service overall nonetheless. New Update User InterfaceOverall, I like the new update and the ability to finally add tracks to a “play next” feature. However, I’m disappointed that there is no longer an alphabet associated with the scrolling bar on the right side of the screen when looking through my various artists, albums, or songs. This was very useful to quickly find a specific artist I was looking to play where now I have to scroll all the way down the hundreds of artists I have in my music just to find the one person I want to listen to. I’m not sure why this feature would simply be taken out or if I’m missing something yet. Just wanted to bring it to the developers attention. New Update made this App GarbageI have been using this app for over 10 years and I am ready to unsubscribe and delete this app. App freezes, takes forever to change the song, oh did you skip a song and want to go back? Hit back 100 times and you’ll still not be able to go back. Have more than one phone that uses the account? Welp you can’t stream at the same time even if you pay for the fam package without kicking the other person off. Want to find a song without searching for the artist first? Better start scrolling because the alphabetical scroll wheel is now gone. Dude fix this ish ASAP. I will be getting a new app very soon if it doesn’t shape up..Version: 8.0.1

Many issuesI’ve had this app for many years now. I always have issues where after I update the app it deletes all of my downloaded songs. I also have had issues where I cannot find my playlist or it only shows less than half of the songs on my playlist. This isn’t a new thing and has always been happening since I’ve had this app. It is also hard to delete a song. You cannot just press a button on the song to delete it. You have to press a button at the bottom and then scroll all the way down the playlist to delete it and sometimes it doesn’t even work and delete the song. It seems that every time a new update comes out it has even more bugs than before. It is also extremely hard to search for songs and artists in the search bar section. If I type in a song name, most likely it will not show many options and I will end up having to type in the artist name and try to find the song that way..Version: 8.0.9

Horrific car functionalityThis app has a pervasive problem with car connectivity and functioning. If you stop the car, when the app disconnects from car, it starts playing from phone speakers. When you get back in the car, it will play the last song you played (from beginning) then freeze so you have to do a hard close and reopen. Obviously not ideal for behind the wheel. Has been a problem for a very long time. I can’t believe I’m paying for such a crappy app. But since my music has been cataloged here for years, they know they don’t have to actually fix it, people don’t want to move music apps if can be avoided. It’s a super frustrating disappointment. Eventually I’ll just leave. Not a good user experience..Version: 7.4.6

APP IS RIDICULOUSLY UNRELIABLE!Regrettably, I should have chosen a different streaming service. The App is HORRIBLE! Playlists never maintain the downloads for songs. When you log out, all the downloads are erased - so then you have to redownload all the songs so they can stream offline. Horribly annoying. Secondly, when you click on a playlist it automatically adds ALL songs in that playlist to the queue automatically. Why??? What if I want to go to a playlist, and then add just a few songs to the queue. Nope. Then you click another playlist and ALL those songs are added on top of the previous songs already in the queue. Ugh!!!! Then you scroll down to play a song AND it takes 45+ seconds to play, but only if it’s downloaded. Finally, the whole music service is frequently offline - meaning you can’t login at all and an error message pops up “unable to access our servers. Try again later.” When this happens, you have to redownload all your playlists AGAIN!!!! Argh!!!!!! Are you #$&@$ kidding me?! Go elsewhere. It will add years back your life..Version: 8.2.1

Completely unusableI literally have not been able to get the app to work once in over 2 months since the new update. The app crashes as soon as it opens, it won’t play any music or it plays one song and the crashes, and now this week the app is just an entirely black screen that won’t load and crashes after 30 seconds. It’s really frustrating that I’ve had to pay for the last 2 months of my subscription when you’ve caused the app to not even be usable or even attempted to fix it. I’m just throwing money in the trash at this point. I’ve had this subscription for almost 15 years now and I’ve never had issues like this. I’m about to just cancel my subscription and go somewhere else if this doesn’t get fixed. I’m not going to pay for another month when I can’t even use the service I pay for..Version: 8.0.1

Beyond upset.I use to really like this app. A couple years ago I decided to cancel my subscription because I couldn’t afford it and they still charged me $99 for a years subscription! I called customer service they had no problem refunding me. Yesterday I decided to cancel my subscription once more and today they still charged me the $10. I called customer service and for starters the first guy I talked to cut me off while I was talking then put me on hold. When he got back on the phone he asked if I was still there and when I was answering him he hung up. I called again and the second guy I talked to was VERY rude. Very short rude answers and I was told I could not get a refund even though I canceled it the day before. I asked if there was someone higher I could speak with and he said no which I highly doubt. Don’t like the new updateI don’t like the new update that y’all just installed, it crashes at random times and and sometimes logs me out. I don’t like the new layout of the app either, I like when you can skip down to different songs by the click of the letter of the alphabet on the side screen. Made it easier to find songs, now I have to scroll through my whole playlist. And now I’m annoyed cause I got log out again and now I can’t even log back in due to you not being able to reach your servers to log me back in……I’ve been with you guys since probably the beginning when this app came out and I’m highly disappointed :(.Version: 8.0.4

Needs improvementThere are several drawbacks when using the app. Sometimes it just randomly quits on me. Not a huge deal since it almost always starts back up again. When you select artist radio, it cycles through what appears to either be a very short list or repeats the same songs. They also got rid of the feature playlist radio. Not missing that terribly because when it was an option, it usually just cycled through the songs you added rather than new ones but I did use it on occasion when I was sick of listening to the same songs; it would have been great if it had more variety..Version: 7.4.6

Hot or miss. A crappy app that could be much betterAlthough I’ve subscribed to this app for years, there is much that drives my bonkers about this app. The search engine is completely useless. Sometimes it requires investigating just to find certain albums from certain artists. It can not be assumed that all albums are listed under the “all albums “ tab. Also many albums by some artists are not available. Example, even though all Beatles mono mixes are available on CD doesn’t mean you’ll find them here. The most annoying part is the time it takes to load a new track when one is finished playing. You’d think with the speed offered to these music services, they’d be able to allow tracks to flow uninterrupted as is the case with any CD. Removing songs from a playlist is difficult and cumbersome. If I decide I want to remove a song from a playlist there should be an option while the track is playing to make a two click system that will remove it. There are plenty of other options listed while listening to a track, it should include an option for removing a song from a playlist. Lastly, would it kill them to include a small biography about the artist and album you are listening too? All in all an ok app that could be made great by these upgrades..Version: 6.5

I wanna like itBut the app is slightly broken, I cannot add albums or artists while connected to my Wi-Fi. Tried force quitting the app and opening again, artists and albums which I selected to be added to my library were not being added while on Wi-Fi. When connected to cellular data it works fine, but it was rather irritating to not be able to add the artists while connected to my own connection. The app design itself is nice, enjoy the music playback screen, and the organization is much better laid out than Apple Music. Last there is an Xbox One application? It will not even allow me to open the app without it force closing automatically. One thing I look for in a streaming service is being able to have background play while I’m playing video games. Fix the Xbox One app, and the function of the iOS app and I might think about switching to it..Version: 5.13.2

App is now awfulI have written a review I stated everything wrong. However what I have noticed is that you only respond to the positive reviews. This app has an infinite amount of bugs. You have to tap a song sometimes 10-15 times before it will play. You don’t know how many songs are in your playlist anymore. You can’t easily move your songs around in the playlist. It will not stay on shuffle and you have to continue to reset it which is deeply frustrating because half the time nothing will play. The app closes all the time. The app will open and immediately close. That slider butter is not effective and difficult to navigate when touching a number in the playlist was easier if I needed to go to song 600. Now I don’t know where anything is and I can’t even search for it in my playlist as before. You keep breaking things that were working. And yes my phone has the latest software. This app however is just horribly done and not easy to navigate. This app is absolutely awfullllll. And I’m certain you won’t bother responding either..Version: 8.0.1

Terrible update -hope you aren’t attached to your music.I’ve long been frustrated with song disappearing from playlists but since the last update, it’s gone from bad to worse. If you’re trying to get rid of all your customers, congratulations! You’re doing exactly what you set out to do. Playlist says it has 674 songs but stops at 400, then if you go to another spot it says there are only 400 songs. Literally just heard the last song #674 on the playlist and realized I didn’t have it set to automatically repeat and now 300 + songs are gone. Soo frustrated. Also you can’t put it in shuffle then change the song without having to put it back on shuffle again. I don’t write reviews and I’ve been a customer for something like 15 years. I’ll be switching since I can’t access the music i downloaded or the playlists I’ve created in the new app or on the web..Version: 8.0.1

Don’t get this app if you care about your musicI had this app for many many years paying a premium expecting my music and my library to be there and just like that i lost more than a 1000 songs. My music took years to gather and i was stilling adding since i listen to just about every style of music it was very time consuming to piece together well i reached out to them and i kept getting generic responses like we are working on it after more than a month i get a notification that my music was back when i check i went from 25 to almost 200 and at least half where bands i never listen to or songs i had but covered by some random band that was terrible. I finally made the decision to go with Apple Music and start the painstaking work of trying to build back my libraries of music i had. You have been warned stay away.Version: 8.3.1

Moments of goodIve subscribed to this service for the better part of a decade. The availability of music has always been great, ability to create playlists and just having a queue for your favorites was awesome. There are too many gimmicks. Everytime something goes wrong, the fix is always to delete the app entirely, and then re-download it causing you to have to download all of your music all over again. Lately with the new format, there are even more glitches where you go to search for a popular artist and it just says no one matches your search. Clearly a tech issue behind the scenes, but these are big issues to have. For the first time in years, I am actually considering other music services..Version: 8.0.1
