VSCO: Photo & Video Editor for Negative User Reviews

Good appIt was my favourite app, up until new updates. It really deserves 5stars, but recently it became quite a task to edit with it. I used to was able to add multiple photos and they got saved in the studio, and I could access them later. Now it is a pain, because I can add one image and when it is edited, I need to choose whether I want to save edits in my phone’s library, or in the draft. If I save it on the phone, it won’t stay in the draft, and if I save it in the draft, I will have to go to drafts and save it on my phone. This is quite annoying and takes longer. All the features that are added with the update are great, but this one is just overlapping everything else.Version: 196.1

Trash appWhat a trash application! I’m stuck with it’s ridiculous subscriptions so that I can’t change to another country’s store. And App Store doesn’t allow to terminate the contract earlier. I don’t recommend to is this app. It’s a trap..Version: 131.1

So sadI miss the old update. :(.Version: 209.0

Give back my A6 & other previous free featureI’ve been with VSCO for a long long time, it always my favorite app and most usage app. But now almost every basic features are locked. Before this change and subscribe policy, I bought certain series of filter which include A series. Even though A6 was free at that time, but I did bought whole A series which mean that A6 should be include anyway. It’s very bad that you took away something I’ve been paid. After this membership policy, I rarely use the app and their nothing to much can use now. Disappointed..Version: 277.0

Frustrating Customer Support Experience with PRO15 OfferAs a loyal VSCO user, I'm deeply disappointed with the handling of the PRO15 offer, which promised a 15% discount on the annual Pro subscription. The experience of upgrading from Plus to Pro has been marred by unresolved issues and inadequate customer support. The response from VSCO's support team was both slow and ineffective. Attempts to redeem the promotional offer led to basic troubleshooting steps that didn't resolve the problem and raised concerns about potential data loss. When these efforts failed, responsibility was unfairly shifted to Apple Support, despite their clarification that the issue was within VSCO's system. This ordeal has significantly dampened my trust in VSCO. A promotional offer intended to benefit loyal customers turned into a frustrating experience, highlighting a lack of accountability and disregard for customer satisfaction. For a company known for its creative tools, such a lapse in customer service is both surprising and unacceptable..Version: 351.0.0

Jump in Cost of Membership ExcessiveI have no problems with subscription apps, but I’m a firm believer that the amount you originally subscribed for should be what you continue to pay for as long as you subscribe. A forced jump from $28 to $54 AUD when few new filters or features seem to be added now is appalling. I’ve been with VSCO since the VSCOCam and desktop filter days and a subscriber since their subscriptions began, but this price increase is it for me. Have cancelled renewal and moved onto other apps..Version: 311.0.0

Is VSCO that desperate for subscribers?I have been using VSCO for almost 8 years now and it has been one of my favorite apps to edit my photos. However, I feel like they are VERY desperate for subscribers to pay the monthly subscription! More specificly desperate for money! The reason why I feel this way is because whenever I edit a photo, I notice that some of the features that I usually use (tone, grain, and split tone) are all of sudden locked now which is SO frustrating. Even some of the filters I usually use are now locked as well. I feel like they’re doing this in order for people to end up spending their money and subscribing for membership! It’s already annoying editing pictures straight from the camera roll instead of selecting certain photos like I used to, and now locking features that everyone loves?! There was also a time where I could use the DSCO feature for free and now that is locked too! Because of this, it makes me want to not use VSCO anymore and if VSCO continues to do these unnecessary updates then I will be using a different photo editing platfrom! Get it together!.Version: 267.0

Payed and got nothing ?I love this app, well I did when I had all of the adaptations however I payed for one year which was fine and then all of a sudden after a year the adaptations stoped and I no longer had them which I was fine with as I knew that would happen anyway. However recently I didn’t decide to upgrade however approximately £19 was taken out of my account and it said in my Apple ID that it was from this app? I went on to the app and I did not even have all of the adaptations just the basic app although I had been charged for no reason and I did not want to !! This is shocking really the app has just taken my money without me even buying anything and I Disney even get anything from it ?? Such a shame as I did really love this app and used it all the time but that won’t be happening any longer!.Version: 127.1

Please update securityDear devs, I lately had to remove VSCO from my device as I was constantly getting followed by bots with inappropriate content on their feeds. Yes they were definitely boys, with auto generated names and descriptions etc. I am concerned because I know plenty of younger people who use this app, so I am (quite rightly) worried for them in case they are ever approached by one of these disgusting bots. There is also the matter of the huge paywall that has been instigated into the app. This is despicable because I must pay just to access some decent filters - and VSCO has plenty of good filters. It is for these reasons that I have only given the app 2 stars..Version: 196.1

WhyLet’s make a free app that you have to pay to post on. Disappointing.Version: 347.0.1

Hate update from a while agoI loved vsco but I hate the storing now because it all goes to my camera roll but that just takes up more storage I like to keep my pictures I take on vsco on vsco and the only way I can keep them if I delete it from my camera roll is if I post it but I don’t post every picture I take I like to just mess around with some of mine that I don’t want everyone to see. Please fix this so many people have complained about it and still it hasn’t been fixed I about want to use a new app but. I think you guys should also add the feature to make our vsco account private. Another thing that irritates me is that if I delete my vsco or something happens or say I got a new phone when I download vsco again all my old photos will be gone and yes I know I can save them to my camera roll to back them up but I hate having my vsco pictures on my camera roll I got vsco so my friends could see my fun pictures that I edit I don’t want to have to save my vsco pictures to my camera roll or another app it’s just better to have them on there. Please fix this it’s getting a little annoying and infuriating. I would prefer to not have to switch to another editing app when you guys can just switch it back to the original version you had it..Version: 119.0

Awful UpdateThe UX on the latest update is beyond confusing. All my photos (edited and unedited) are now mixed up. I get too confused - sure there’s filters; but they reset everytime I edit one photo so find myself having to scroll back. I can’t even save photos to my camera roll anymore unless I go to each photo and edit them (and change nothing). I can save photos by going through the native share tools but that’s a long process when I have 20+ photos. I can’t select multiple photos and save to camera roll (if I can, it’s not obvious) Although it is easier being able to browse my camera roll and edit straight away; I miss having all my VSCO edits in one space - I’d often browse for photos using the app. Also - for some reason photos aren’t also saved in the separate VSCO folder on my phone - where they used to be. It’s a shame because all my edits from day 1 are in there. Now they’re just sat amongst my camera roll of about 30+ different variants of the same photo. I’m a UX designer so understand the aim - but a lot has been lost to gain easy browsing pre-editing. The post-editing experience isn’t great at all..Version: 196.1

Not worth paying forI have used and enjoyed VSCO for years, but the newest update made a lot of manual adjustment filters (clarity, grain, etc.) locked for free users. Frankly, VSCO was a convenience app for me - I am not paying the equivalent of a streaming service every month just to have editing options on my phone that I can easily do for free on my computer. I have no interest in using VSCO as a social media platform, and I am disappointed they’ve removed so many manual adjustment options from users without a paid subscription. It is one thing to charge for preset filters and automated adjustments, but not manual ones. Further, I don’t support the subscription model - I dropped photoshop when Adobe decided you couldn’t own the software outright anymore, and I’m not going to support the subscription model for a phone app with far fewer features. If you’re willing to use the subscription feature then I’m sure you’ll enjoy VSCO, but I’m sick and tired of never ending monthly payments just because tech companies are trying to end outright ownership. I’d even be willing to pay a one-time payment option for premium (as in, pay a high flat rate once and always have access - NOT an annual renewing subscription), but I won’t support ongoing fees to manually edit my own photos. I’ll just use my computer. Disappointing to lose VSCO like this, but at least I’ll free up more space in my phone!.Version: 269.0

Hate the new updateThis app used to be a lifesaver for me but the new update is awful. Nothing works the same way, it’s really hard to copy edits, it doesn’t save edited photos to the beginning of the camera roll anymore, you can’t import a whole lot of photos at the same time and basically it’s removed all functionality so I’ve had to switch to using another app instead..Version: 198.0

Worst update everI’ve used VSCO for the past 3 years to edit photos before adding them to Instagram and this new version doesn’t even makes sense to me. I can’t save photos in Draft as before so that I can edit them in a batch, so I tried another way which was adding the “favourite” flag to them so that I can access them without being lost amongst all the unwanted photos, and every time I had the filter for Favourite, then edit the photo, the filter reset to display all the photos, and even worse than that, every time the list starts from the first photo rather than the photo I was currently editing, and I have to scroll down amongst the myriad of photos to find the one I want to edit. Just awful!.Version: 196.1

Great when it works and I’m not being charged for services I don’t getI renewed my VSCO almost two years ago but wasn’t getting access to any of the filters that aren’t on the free version and kept getting told “start a subscription to use this filter” when trying to use them. I would try to start a subscription but then be told I already had one. I tried to cancel it so many times but I am locked in until a certain date (tomorrow) and have been for two years, being charged £2.50 every month for services I’m not getting and for a subscription I have tried to cancel well over 15 times. VSCO used to be great, now it is just a scam. I’m really irritated that I would’ve been charged over £50 from all of these payments which I did not agree to. Even when I originally signed up, I bought a year and should have been charged £20 ONCE for that year, not £2.50 every month. I’ve been scammed, lied to, they’ve taken my payment details and won’t stop stealing money from me !! At least if they’re going to take my money, my app should work right? SCAM.Version: 203.0

MembershipPlease fixing this app asap, I did paid for it and it won’t let me to editing!!! I paid for it!!.Version: 314.0.0

More expensive. Less accessibleI’ve had this app since 2017 and as the years go by a lot of the free features I used to love is now not available. Having to pay to use so many features has taken the enjoyment out of an app and editor I loved to frequently use!.Version: 272.0

Deleting photosVery very very difficult that you have the new feature of deleting photos that are deleted from device. I can not stress enough how annoying this is as I clear space up on my phone however I store photos there for me to post on my Instagram account. Please make an option to remove this feature as I have lost so many photos thinking they would be saved in the application and I’m really disappointed. Would love to know if there is a way to turn this feature off!! Love the app though - really great for storing photos and editing. Thank you.Version: 133.0

I guess this is goodbyeI can see that a number of users have already hopped on to say exactly what I’m going to say, but I’ll add my two cents to the fray. I’ve been using this app for 6+ years now. I found it to be a nice Instagram alternative and the editing tools were simple, and easy to use. While I am perfectly fine with having a paid version because I understand the developers need to make money, I find it insulting that they would simply take away features that have always been available for free. I cannot use presets that I have created and used for multiple years because they are now hidden under the premium option. Even the grain setting, which I used as recently as 3 days ago (yes, GRAIN) is now a paid features. Yeah, no thanks. I have contemplated purchasing the premium option as a way to support an app that I have used for so long, but I will certainly never do that now. Looks like I now can now just rely on Apples native editing tools. I can see the developers are giving a blanket “sorry for your experience” response to all these, which is hilarious to me. Until you bring back the features you removed, consider me a lost customer..Version: 269.1

Great App, Terrible SupportI’m a long time VSCO supporter - going back to when they sold Lightroom Presets. I also happily paid for the premium version of the app because the UX, tools and sheer speed of editing photos was world class. The issue is that when the app doesn’t work it exposes a serious lack of care from their team. My app started exporting black photos. I was able to narrow it down to an Apple ProRAW issue. Did they care? Nope. Did it take weeks for them to reply? Yup. Did they give me a timeline. Nope. In fact, their response to my inability to fix a bug that leaves the app unusable was “I kindly encourage you to keep VSCO up to date on a weekly basis to see if your issue has been corrected.” Super disappointing - suffice to say I unsubscribed from paying them $35 a year and have started to look at other apps..Version: 300.0.0

Unable to useI loved using VSCO on my old phone where I had purchased the full amount of filters and editing options. When I upgraded to my new iPhone, all my app subscriptions rolled over except VSCO. It now tells me to pay for a subscription every time I go to use certain locked filters etc. then when it takes me to the subscription says I am already subscribed. So basically I have paid for something I cannot use as there is this huge glitch. I have tried deleting the app then downloading again. The brand new subscription rolled over in October and I thought this might kick it into action but it did not. I’ve tried contacting VSCO to no avail..Version: 190.0

Dissatisfied & frustrated after years of loyal use.I’ve used VSCO for almost a decade now, maybe longer—I even remember when the app was branded VSCOcam—and have been a paying member of the VSCO user community for almost as long. But it’s absurd that even after giving them $30/year for YEARS they continue to hound me to pay even more for an even more expensive premium membership. Let me be clear—I am perfectly fine with VSCO’s new pro membership. I was actually excited at first and considered upgrading to it! It sounds very useful and worth the money, to be honest. But the constant barrage of email reminders to “complete my upgrade” (which I have received daily ever since I simply looked at the new tier), combined with the in-app advertisement for the new membership that I can neither remove nor opt out of (despite already having an active, paid VSCO subscription)—is testing my loyalty. VSCO, please treat your loyal, longtime users with respect and stop milking our money out of us. In my opinion, the $30/year I already spend is already plenty enough for those new features you’re now charging even more for. And if you disagree with that statement—which is totally valid, you’re the devs, after all, and only you know how much work you put into this app—at the very least, stop harassing me to give you more of money..Version: 323.0.0

Best App Ever… until it removed features for non membersThis app was easily the BEST app I’ve ver had. I’ve had vsco since I was in 7th grade and I’m currently a sophomore in college. It’s documented so many fun times (and not so fun times) in my life and has honestly grown up alongside with me. I loved VSCO bc it was unlike any other filter app I’ve had before and it was my go to editing app until you took such crucial features away :( . It’s one thing for some filters to be taken away but, clarity? tone? grain?. Those are crucial things to use to edit photos. Plus you’ve gotten rid of VITAL filters I’ve used since this app came out such as C1. I understand there’s a free trial for the full version but eventually that runs out and vsco has been with me since years. I think it’s so uncool for vsco to take filters and features away from people who have supported this app for 7 + years. It’s honestly so disappointing and I now have to go to Lightroom or Prequel to filter my pictures. Super disappointed in vsco and I’d 1000% change my review if they restored those features and filters for free, because I love vsco and it’s premise so much, it’s just so not cool that they’re taking things away from people who have been there since the start.Version: 277.0

Paywalling features that have been free for yearsOne of the scummiest things this company has done is put features that have been free since the iPhone 5 behind a new subscription paywall. I’ve used VSCO since it was called VSCOcam and now I can’t even access basic features like copy and paste without paying monthly/yearly. Do not support this company. Download Lightroom for better filter and editing support, the app is not worth it, especially now, and their response is simply “we took away things you’ve been using for years and now you have to pay monthly to access them” - do not support this company..Version: 269.1

BRING BACK THE OLD LAYOUTNew studio layout sucks. It doesn’t look good HONESTLY. Bring back the old layout please..Version: 35.1

Used to love it, new update is money hungryI’ve been using VSCO for as long as i can remember and with the recent update in May 2022, they have locked out essential uses such as the split tone hues, clarity, highlight and shadow sliders and most importantly the grain tool. This update is pushing users to subscribe and pay for something we have all been using for free FOR YEARS. Very unhappy about this update, and it shouldn’t be like this, when most people use VSCO to be able to edit their photos freely with MOST abilities that has been for FREE for years on this app!!! Removing this app immediately because of this update. Sad to see a great app become needy for money like this..Version: 269.0

Trash update and appYou now have to pay to post a picture. Whoever came up with this update is brain dead and needs to be fired immediately..Version: 347.0.1

Good, but…PLEASE ADD AN ARCHIVE FEATURE!! 😭 I have some posts that I don’t want on my page at this time but I don’t want to fully delete them. It’d be so nice if we could archive things to restore later. Another thing, I would personally enjoy if journals came back, I think they’re great for documenting travel, road trips and other fun experiences. I feel like journals are cool because you can include multiple pictures in one “post”. Instagram, for example, allows users to include up to 10 images as a part of their post. Pinterest now has a similar feature. VSCO doesn’t have any feature like this, where you can include more than one picture, so I think journals fill that void. Sometimes, I’ll take a lot of great pictures at a life event (prom, graduation, a vacation, etc.) but I don’t feel like I’m able to post all the pictures because it’d clutter up my feed. Journals could help allow me to post more. I also like how you could give them little titles and stuff. So cute! I also like how on this app, there are no visible likes and comments on posts—PLEASE keep it that way because it separates VSCO from other social media apps! I also feel more confident posting because I don’t have to worry whether something will get likes and comments or not. It’s nice because you also can’t see how many likes other people’s posts get. I think it’s great and it’s why I prefer this app to other social media apps..Version: 319.0.1

I hate this new featureCan you reverse the fact that when I delete a original picture off my phone, the app decides to also delete the EDITED, desired image off my app too? There are literally years of pictures which I’ve been forced to delete from my phone for storage which only recently have been deleted off the APP, ASWELL - for good. Memories I wanted to keep archived, on an app I’ve been using for 6 years now. Only to find out they can’t be rendered and remain white squares on my edit screen. Honestly it’s cruel and it’s such a waste. What does that achieve for anybody? If I wanted them both gone don’t you think I would have deleted them both of my device? You need to fix this..Version: 159.1

Meh.I’ve used vsco for a while to edit my photos, and it’s been pretty good as i’ve been able to make most of the filters i’ve wanted,, but recently it’s been glitching a lot and i’ve been unable to edit my photos. i’ll add them in and it won’t let me click edit even if i restart the app multiple times. It also crashes a lot,, and randomly deletes my filter recipes which is VERY annoying. I’d recommend Polarr over Vsco as you can add as many of your own filters without charge, and there’s more features on polarr + it rarely glitches/crashes..Version: 168.0

Taking away filters purchased before the release of their membership optionI’m not one to want to leave low scoring reviews on apps I genuinely enjoy using and have been using for years but after jumping on the app today to edit a few photos again I realized it’s been done again. Ever since the release of VSCO’s membership option I lost most if not, all of the filter packs that I purchased when I first joined the application. Luckily they prompted me with restoring old purchases; didnt say ALL of my old purchases so I wasn’t surprised to find that they only restored a minimal assortment of the filters that I purchased. That was maybe, a year- almost two years ago, I’ve made do and kinda just let it go. But today I see that I lost about 5 more filters that I already purchased before. I totally understand pushing the membership option in order to keep the application afloat and thriving but one would think all their old purchases of the filters would be grandfathered into this new version. So you know we don’t feel robbed. It’s really disappointing that I can’t restore all the packs that I bought a while ago..Version: 267.0

So badIt’s getting worst than before. I got all the filters, now I don’t find them on my list it’s hard to see which one. Sorry. It’s definitely worse. Greedy. I paid like $100 for it. Enjoying my money..Version: 299.0.0

Used to be good/useable :(For some reason I have to sign in/create an account to use the app, there’s no “no thanks option”. So I start to do that and the sign up page has a giant ad for some pro account thing over the top. Such a poor experience..Version: 153.0

Why would u remove itI use one specific filter, HB2, for years since i got the app back in 2016, and now we have to pay for it??? like i understand making newer filters locked, but why would u make the ones u had u on ur app for years locked now? put it back this is ridiculous.Version: 280

Very frustrated trying to log inI have paid for a subscription and I am trying to log in on my iPad. When I enter my password it says my profile is invalid. So I tried to sign up and it says that my profile is already connected to my account, which I can’t access because it says that I have an invalid profile! Would like to contact the developer but the website address is also invalid. Not very happy I have wasted a lot of time and money and there doesn’t appear to be any way to connect any support to sort the issue apart from voicing my concerns on this platform..Version: 89.0

Can’t access premium that I’ve paid 4Hey I can’t get access to the premium Features. Ive upgraded my account. Or at least tried to several Times. Ive received the confirmation email from apple but The app keeps telling me to upgrade but I already have. I can’t find a way to contact VSCO and I really do want to use it. Have loved using the free filters for years so I’m gutted I can’t access the rest.Version: 277.0

MAKE IT FREETERRIBLE vsco used to be my favourite app until they started charging u to post Would give 0 star if i couls.Version: 347.0.1

Great Film Emulations & Unstable AppI've been a dedicated user of VSCO for over ten years, and it ranks as one of my top apps. For about eight years, I've integrated its use with VSCO Keys and Film Emulations in Lightroom Classic. The mobile version has evolved impressively, especially with the addition of video editing, making it an essential tool for content creators. However, a significant problem persists: frequent crashes. These crashes not only disrupt the workflow but often result in the loss of 10-15 minutes of editing work. The app tends to crash during critical actions like sharing or saving to the gallery, and at times, it fails to save content altogether. Selecting the share button can cause crashes, and there are instances where it stops saving videos to the gallery, displaying a message that the "item failed to save to gallery". This leaves users in a bind, unable to post unedited content and having to seek alternative, though less visually appealing, editing solutions. My advice is to prioritize stability over rapid innovation to maintain the reliability that many creators depend on..Version: 352.0.1

ScammedWhen I originally downloaded this app I was quite excited, part of my job is editing the photos that I take and I had heard a good things about this app, so I decided to install it, initially as I went on it I was quite disappointed as 98% of its content you have to pay for, so you essentially have to end up buying a subscription, that is what I did. I bought the subscription and never gained access to the features. I complained, I tried to get a refund, and I have wasted my money essentially as nothing happened. I have paid money to an app that doesn’t let me use its features. There are many apps out there that could do what this app does for free and I wouldn’t recommend putting your money into this., I’m very disappointed.Version: 274

Removed featuresLatest update removed previous features and put them into the subscription. This app is now useless..Version: 274

So disappointed :(I’ve been using vsco for about 10 years now, and I’m so disappointed that they have put my favourite effects behind a paywall. I can no longer use C1 or grain, and I miss them so much..Version: 272.0

Something seems to have gone awryI love using vsco. It’s my go to editing up and Ive invested a lot into it - subscribe to the yearly membership and love the option to have your own saved filters which I use all the time. However something seems to have happened recently. The app is super clunky now and really really slow. It doesn’t move smoothly when you scroll anymore, sort of freezing and then moving again. Also every time I try to save more than about 4 photos at a time to my camera roll from the app it crashes. Really really annoying and time consuming. Even copying and pasting an edit to more than about 6 photos at a time seems to take an age now when it used to be pretty quick. I thought the issue may have been that I had too many photos imported into the app over the years so I deleted all of them - and yet still no improvement in use ability. Please sort this out! It’s making me want to find another editing tool completely..Version: 126.0

VSCO ain’t it anymoreVSCO used to be great but they’ve made almost the whole app locked unless you pay. what id be able to understand is that every app comes with premium features for purchase but VSCO has even taken features that were ALWAYS FREE and now making you pay for basic editing features (ex. add clarity to your photo or enhance shadows/highlights). i liked a bunch of free filters that VSCO had but they’ve made those a premium feature now. very sad. i hope everyone finds a better alternative!.Version: 280

VSCO journals/ new updateThis used to be my favorite social media app because it has never been related to likes or the amount of followers you have. I have been using VSCO for over 6 years now and recently the quality of the app has GREATLY depleted. I am constantly having issues with cropping my photos. I woke up this morning to see my app had updated and that all my Journals were removed. I looked up online and found that VSCO has gotten rid of the journal section for good starting today. I have 6 years of photo journals on this app, that are now all deleted. They creators said this change happened because journals are not creative and they want to keep this a creative space. Well I have been using journals to group photos together like an online scrapbook. Along with that I am an artist and use them to keep track of my progress, so remind me why that isn’t creative enough for you? I am so upset by the removal of journals and all my hard work on keeping my journals up to date with good captions is now gone. The least they could have done was give a warning about this so I could have saved them before they got completely removed. And worst of all I tried contacting the VSCO team to see if there is a way to recover my journals and they have zero information on their website on how to get in touch. Not even an email..Version: 202.0

BAD QUALITYI, like many others, have used VSCO for a very long time and I, like many others, have issues with the new updates. If you read other recent reviews you’ll get a good idea with the main issues with the recent changes. I have never, and I mean NEVER, written a review of anything before but because I loved this app so much it saddens me to see it go so down hill. The main point I would like to raise (which differs from other recent reviews) is that recently my photos have been horrendously bad quality, and I mean HORRENDOUS! I have changed nothing in the settings, I haven’t got a new device, I haven’t changed a thing other than to update the app. I have used older photos that I have previously used on the app to see if it was my recent photo settings that were the problem to see if that made a difference but no, the quality was still as bad. In the app they look perfectly normal but once you save them to your camera roll they become all cartoonish and animated looking which is very strange to explain. The best way I can describe it is when you zoom in really close on Google Earth and you can see the 3D rendered model of where you are; it looks like that and I don’t know why. Maybe it’s just my app, or maybe it’s a broader issue. But having said that I thought it necessary to say this because the app needs changing. It was once really great and I’ve used it for years but sadly it has not just gone bad, it has gotten unusable..Version: 196.1

Greed. Pure Greed.I have been a long term user of VSCO. Across the years, I’d scrimp and save to pay for different filter packages until I’d collected all the filters available again. I was angry when it changed to subscription, because it didn’t refund me the money I’d spent in good faith, and was informed that if I didn’t get a subscription, my purchases wouldn’t exist. So I reluctantly agreed, and budgeted the annual subscription fee. It’s frustrating, because I have no interest in 75% of the rubbish on there, because if you’re wanting artistic effects like that, SURELY you’re using affinity or photoshop. To now see that you are DOUBLING the subscription price, when I only use maybe half a dozen filters, and zero tier options is an absolute disgrace. I’ll be cancelling before my refresh. The insta filters are worth the sacrifice..Version: 316.0.0

Update sucksHate the new update. Can’t import photos without editing them one by one..Version: 199.0

It’s Going Downhill- Two SuggestionsThe thing that is currently getting the most on my nerves though is that when I finish editing and choose whether or not to save or to post, the phone automatically scrolls back to the saved photo. This is so frustrating when I’m editing photos that are farther back or even relatively close and my place in my camera roll is not saved. I don’t want to scroll all the way back, edit another photo and then do the process again. It’s tedious and pointless. I guess this is in place, so we can see where the edited photo lands? But, that’s not helpful. I think that a button at the top of the screen that says “jump to most recent photos” or something would be more useful. Loosing my spot constantly is SO frustrating. I love VSCO, and I will stick around because I love and am used to the editing software they have. However, I feel like with each new update, VSCO is making it harder to stay. They got rid of the studio, which was very handy. I liked having the photos I was editing in one place. When editing my photos, I don’t want my whole camera roll there with all my screenshots too. I want to choose what’s in the studio. I really want studio back. I use VSCO on my iPhone 11, and I would love to be contacted.Version: 219.0

Deletes pics from vsco once original is deleted from camera rollI find that the new update that deletes my edited photos off of my vsco after i’ve deleted the original, unedited version from my camera roll is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. my camera roll is now as full as it’s ever been but when i first got notified of this they said it was to ‘help not use as much storage up’ ???? how does it help ?? it’s literally forcing me to keep my unedited photos !!! i don’t want my vsco gallery to be empty by keeping all my edited pics in my camera roll. that would almost defeat one of the core purposes of vsco for me !!! so, PLEASE FIX THIS. very very frustrating. i love this app and have been using it religiously since 2015 .... although i’m extremely disappointed by this update :(.Version: 117.0

Fix bugs before releasing a new update!!!Hey girlies of vsco ive been a massive fan of this app for 4 years and ive even paid for vscox but i cant help but despise all of these unecessary and buggy updates! ever heard of the acronym: KISS? well it stands for Keep It Simple, Stupid - maybe look it up before you turn this app into something so much more complicated than a photo editing app. like this new update for example: i cant upload multiple photos from my camera roll to the new “drafts” file without having to manually import it from my photos app which btw rotates the thumbail 90 degrees when importing it into the drafts. also the whole camera roll and drafts tab is so fudging useless like sis this isnt tiktok 🥴🥴 idk maybe get rid of the montages button?? who even uses montages like fr?? ive tried to use the montages feature but on god its the most pointless thing its not as flexible as other video/collaging apps. and i swear u guys switched the placements of the buttons (edit and montage buttons) when im wanting to edit a pic its like instagram with their like button - its simple muscle memory, leave it where it was!!! when im finished editing pics and save it to my camera roll - first of all it doesnt even save it to my camera roll i would have to do it twice and secondly, one time the photo looked glitchy and had a whole white line going across it. idk the update looks nice but yall just made it so much more complicated that it needs to b like just keep it simple is all im asking for yk?? anyway thanks for listening to my ted talk x.Version: 194.0

It used to be goodI returned to this app after few years break. One of the features that I really liked previously that was ahead of its competition - Lightroom was ability to select multiple images and apply filters to it. Huge time saver. Not a fan of new file management system - once you process the original it is removed from your camera. Super annoying when you want to process images with several different filters. I really don’t understand the logic behind changing what works. That’s how you kill the app and lose customers..Version: 233.0

Paywall feels like a scamI’ve used vsco since the early days, before there was any kind of membership needed. i paid for all of the filter packs back then because it was a one time payment and i enjoyed the way they looked. now many of those filters i already paid for, and several of the ones that had always been free are once again behind a paywall. to me this feels like a scam. i’ve spent money on a product and had it taken away from me again. not to mention that settings like grain and color had always been free but now you must pay for them. i would rather just edit these in the photos app at this point. i was understanding when they added a membership to use NEW features or specific NEW filters but taking things that we already purchased or things that were once free and putting them behind a paywall is just so cheap. not to mention it’s now a monthly payment for something that was once free. i don’t believe i’ll be using this app anymore. it’s very apparent the company doesn’t care about its users, they only care about making money. the fact that the developer response on all negative reviews is copied and pasted speaks volumes to this fact..Version: 319.0.2

Impressive how bad it can becomeI used to love VSCO, recommending it to a lot of friends and colleagues. Great filters, edits and intuitive. Recently, they decided to paywall for a lot of previously free features - sneaky but understandable, we’ve got to earn a living and I didn’t mind starting to pay the subscription. However after yet another redesign of the studio and drafts process, I am done with VSCO. Shockingly bad UI, not intuitive and now I can’t edit any of the original photos and have a ridiculous amount of copies. I understand there’s a push to make it less of a photo editing app and more of a studio but frankly this new update is awful! Please let us return to being able to modify photos and stop messing around with UI when it makes it worse..Version: 277.0

What happened to my membership?I’ve been using VSCO for a long time now. I even bought the presets back when they were available to purchase for Lightroom. Great photo editing app. I use it to edit my photos on my phone for stories for my photography business. Easily one of my favourite. However, recently I’ve had issues with it. I’ve been booted out of my account which I’ve paid a year subscription for. I still have till 2nd of September this year, 2021 before the membership expires, yet I cannot log on my account. Tried multiple time to connect back into my VSCO account, all the custom presets I’ve saved and photos in my library are gone and it’s asking me to subscribe for a membership. I already have one, I’ve checked my apple account subscription. What is going on here?.Version: 207.0

Great filter app but that’s allFor a number of years VSCO has been my go to photo filter / editing application; spending money on buying individual filters in the past and then jumping on the VSCO X hype when they introduced it. However, a few years on and as my mobile photo editing skills improved, VSCO stayed behind with it’s very basic range of tools. The number of filters that are available is great but people who take their mobile photo editing beyond just filters will soon outgrown the application. It would be great if the developers could introduce some simple tools such as: the defuser, colour grading and selective colour editing, being able to properly adjust shadows and highlights, a healing or air brushing tool or simply being able to name a saved recipe. The argument against this would be to use another application for these features but I do think it would nice to see an expansion of the available tools inside the VSCO app for its paying customers..Version: 203.0

Give us back grain!!!I have been using this app for literally a decade, since 2012 or 2013 or whenever it launched. To have grain suddenly go behind a paywall? F this app..Version: 267.0

Doesn’t connect to iTunes storeEven though there are some free presets you can’t download them as the app keeps telling you it can’t connect to the iTunes store..Version: 143.1

Looking for another appI have been using VSCO since 2014. Every single picture I have edited I have used this app for it. I remember everyone would ask me what app I used and would tell them VSCO. And they would use it even years later. To the point that everyoneI knew used this app. And loved when it blew up because everyone can now see how great this app is. I like what they have added like posting your picture on the app And discovering creators. That being said I will not be using this app again. Introducing a paid membership is stupid. It makes since when making content is what you do. Not when you just want to edit a picture to post on Instagram. It was ok when they introduced it and people who want it could buy it and you could still use the app and do most of the edits I had been doing since 2014. And it’s now a total subscription app now for except for a handful of filters. You can have both and have people like me still use filters that we have always used and have a subscription for people who what it and offer more. But completely forcing us to pay is a slap to our face . It makes me sad since this is the only app a have ever used..Version: 311.0.0

Not as user friendlyYou can no longer flick though the edits at full screen so you now only get a thumbnail which isn’t large enough to decide upon the presets. This means you have to enter a preset, remember what it was like, leave, go to a new preset, decide. They also aren’t as well organised to my own previous presets, rather than constantly trying to get me to buy more. Not as easy or obvious to import from the camera roll into the app as I do not always take photos through this app if it’s a quick shot. Just spent ages selected a number of photos to import only for them all to become deselected and having to start the process again. App is being less intuitive, more frustrating and clunky. Not sure why FX has been given such a prominent role other than money making. They are very tacky effects - wasn’t this app more for budding photographers?.Version: 243.0

How do you import multiple photos? How do you paste edits between photos? Horrible update.Version: 196.1

HorribleFor me there’s just filters not like CapCut they have everything I personally think CapCut is 10% better then this Not saying u should download CapCut , me and my boyfriend are doing TikToks this is disappointing to be honest we are 15+ this is s#!^ ! I wish that I read the reviews me and my boyfriend will be reporting this for doing that or maybe it’s a flitter app!But it’s bad. Someone from TikTok that’s like 10-14 had this she had no bother but man I’m disappointed my boyfriend will be writing a review Ok?Remember people that are reading this And if they see this just warning people it’s just a Photographer thing idek why i downloaded this I’m disappointed in my self I truly am and it’s BAD QUALTY! Who hates bad Quality I think everyone so I’ll be sticking to CapCut for another few years and my boyfriend uses it as well. Issues now So the issues is it’s Laggy and $#*^ and it laggy af it isn’t my internet because it’s good and yeah my and my boyfriend are sitting beside me. We are saying what we think of the app… he says it’s rubbish and not worth it. I agree to be honest. I ain’t going to stop intel I get full information ! It’s like 19+ pound/ dollars I don’t get it it’s not on. Don’t recommend only if you want a filter app that is useless!.Version: 222.0

Subscription is killing your appStop being lazy and charging users what used to be free features, make new features that are worth paying instead..Version: 283.0

TOO EASY TO REPOSTSwiping up reposts a picture. I accidently reposted 5 pictures. At least make it a tap, you swipe up 99% of the time to look at photos terrible idea.Version: 34.1

Photos do not appear at all, very slow!I’ve always paid an annual fee with VSCO, no problem for having subscription with a good app. However, lately none of my imported photos display. All white out. I even deleted the whole gallery of imported photos twice, to free all space and start over, now my gallery has under 20 photos yet it’s still all white, NOT LOADING / NOT DISPLAYING any photos at all, I cannot edit my photos. Please fix this bugs soon..Version: 141.0

UghhWhy the heck do U have to pay.Version: 34.1

Great, except cannot override original photoI have been using VSCO for years. I am the family photographer (dslr/iPhone) and have found VSCO incredibly easy to just make simple, stylish, modern edits to photos. It has helped me capture deliver beautiful memories to my family members for years. The greatest feature of all (imo) was recently removed from the last update. I used to be able to save all VSCO-edited photos to my camera roll and have it apply the changes to the original photo. Now, with the feature removed, I have to save all drafts to the camera roll, which creates duplicates (original and VSCO-edited photo). I don’t want duplicates in my library, especially when family photos are often nearly 50+ or hundreds for each event or baby milestone. I get the idea of there being an artistic reason for having this feature removed, but as a person who is incredibly busy and having just recently started a family, I just don’t have time to sort through my photos to clean up my library or filter through the duplicates to figure out what to send to my family. It is so, SO frustrating, especially as a VSCO membership holder. I will continue to use VSCO, but please bring back this feature for my sanity as well as others (it looks like I am not alone with missing this feature)..Version: 281.0

Hate the update!I used to absolutely love this app. There wasn’t a quality I didn’t like about it. I never actually had an account, or the paid version, and still loved it! I use it to edit my photos for my blog. Recently, after updating the app I noticed a change to the way photos are stored. If I delete a photo in my camera roll, it deletes the edited version from the app. I absolutely hate this change. I use the app to edit my photos before posting, but love to be able to go back and review old photos from the past. After editing and posting on Instagram I always delete them from my camera roll because I don’t like to have a ton of food pictures on my phone. I always loved that I could go back in the VSCO app and pull up old photos to reuse on my blog if I wanted to. Now that the photos delete themselves when I remove them from my camera roll I am no longer able to store them in the VSCO app. This is super frustrating, and makes me wonder whether I want to continue using the app to edit my photos. I usually never review things, but I wanted to share my thoughts in hope that this is something that can be changed..Version: 117.0

I miss the old vscoVSCO is a huge fan of fixing stuff that isn’t broken. It started with the user interface, then with the editing tools themselves. Vsco used to be a sleek, simple, alternative high quality photo editing app, and now that it’s more mainstream (and slowly turning into Instagram imo) it’s gotten bad. The functionality of the highlights tool is a great example of a well-intending update actually making something worse, and there’s a bug with the grain tool that’s actually been there for a long as I remember. They also removed the web uploader so now to get photography on my computer to the app (which can only be used on the iPhone btw) I have to use “google photos or iCloud.” Thanks but if I wanted my photography to be 240p I would’ve done that already. Also not a huge fan of how often the paid version of vsco is shoved down my throat. Vsco used to be my favorite photo editing app and posting platform but it’s just gone down the tube. Very sad. Don’t get me wrong, the community is still great and the filters remain unmatched, but the other issues are enough to reduce my usage..Version: 166.1

No to ProI’ve been a VSCO fan for over a decade now. I genuinely love their filters and aesthetic - I bought the lightroom presets, bought the separate filter packs for the IOS app, upgraded and bought a membership. They’ve featured my photos a fair amount through the years on the community too which was cool. Now, like they did to pretty much force you to pay for a membership, they’ve locked out a lot of the tools that of course you can now only access if you pay for Pro which is really annoying. This personally feels like yet another company doing a subscription cash grab just when a lot of people are struggling for money. It’s disappointing. I appreciate that you through pro you get access to a desktop app beta (there is very little info on this) and some (4 I think) exclusive filters but this doesn’t justify doubling the price in a short space of time. It also give licence for them to keep bringing out another membership tier when they feel like it - fully expecting to see Pro + next year or something similar. I fully get that they have to make money, I’ve been happy to give it to them but I’m not sure I will be in the future..Version: 329.0.0

WhyU have to buy a membership just to post stuff sooo stupid.Version: 347.0.1

Just lost a VSCO lover! The newest update has just pushed me away, a user of VSCO for the last many years. I don’t have the money to be paying for the bare minimum features, that’s why i always choose VSCO and now it’s been updated and they’ve taken away features I used for years, this is such a shame. I’ll be using another app from now, also won’t be recommending VSCO unless you wanna spend a fortune just like every other app on the app store that’s greedy for money… even if it’s the simplest features..Version: 269.1

Don’t botherPaid for filters a few years ago and now they are no longer available due to the updated membership option. Total rip off. Delete!.Version: 269.1

Lost accessI have had my VSCO profile since 2016 and have had a yearly membership for the past couple years, I regularly post and use the app almost every day. Earlier this month I went to app and it had logged me out and I was unable to log back in. I updated the app and my phone like instructed to do on support website and I was still unable to login. I tried resetting the password and still no luck. It wasn’t registering I even had my account. Because I didn’t have access I was unable to submit a ticket to receive help. I then tried the Discord support option and have not heard back, another member also seeking support said she also lost access a while ago and the members of the team designated to help have never attempted to assist her as requested. Another frustration I have is my yearly membership renewed on November 7th and I lost access to my account November 10th. I would love to regain access to my account or receive a refund for the yearly membership I am now unable to use..Version: 295.0.0

Suggestion for paid membersI LOVE the app and I absolutely love the entire platform, however as a paid member I would like the ability to sign into my account online on my laptop and edit photos from there. I feel like paid members would be able to get even more from the platform as this would allow members to see colors and filters more clearly and allow members to make even better/smarter editing decisions. I went to do this one time because when I printed out the photo after I edited it, and it didn’t turn out the way I thought it would but yet it looked great on my phone app. I’ve used the app less because of this only because I don’t feel like I’m getting a true editing experience. It only makes sense to me, as you can access VSCO on a computer already and can log in and even browse around! You’d think I could at least edit the photos I’ve uploaded under my profile before I post them on the VSCO feed. I will more than likely cancel my subscription and find another app that will allow me to make edits on my laptop as well. Giving it 3 stars for now until VSCO gives paid members a little more freedom outside of the app itself..Version: 169.1

Avoid! My two unsuccessful attempts to use this app. 1. I wanted to try it so agreed to use for free first 7days, then pay. Double click on my iPhone and I paid a whole year subscription. They didn’t give me my 7 days to try for free. After complaining,I got my money back and deleted the app. 2. Bought one months membership for 6.99 and I thought that I will be able to edit my photos and videos, but no! Even though I paid, app doesn’t let me to do anything as I need a membership which I paid off. Basically app doesn’t recognise that I’ve paid and ask for payment and subscription. I’ve contacted VSCO but I haven’t got any response. Basically I’ve paid 6.99 for nothing. No refund & no app. Avoid!!.Version: 300.0.0

The recent updateThe recent update is poor understanding of what user need for the app, the programme suppose to be simple to use and batch processing is what I like about VSCO, now they make it so complex and difficult to use, I hope they will wake up and return to what it was, please don’t change for the sake of changing.Version: 274

Really disappointedYou can’t just let your users use the features as part of the app and not the subscription for years and suddenly make it payable… I can see that I am not the first disappointed user. Your app has been advertised and recommended by people and I said it was one of the best. Not anymore. All the other apps offer the features that used to be free and even more. Subscription isn’t worth it as it does not offers anything special comparing to other similar apps. As a result I am searching for an alternative app where I won’t be forced to pay for something that is free on any other app. :) I have been a loyal VSCO user till now. i hope someone will recognise in your team that by making something payable that used to be free, ain’t gonna get you more money instead you just gonna loose users. :(.Version: 269.1

You have to PAY for everything.I’ve used VSCO for many years as it was one of the best apps to edit photos, but the new update means that you have to pay for everything. Sure, some features being premium isn’t a problem, but now simple editing tools such as grain and clarity are locked until you pay for premium. What once was an amazing app now isn’t worth it. You might as well buy literally any other app on the App Store because it’s all the same now. It’s so disappointing, because it use to be such a good app..Version: 272.0

New update suuuuuucksVSCO was so good for so long, why have you taken away all the great features and now they’re only available on the subscribed version? So frustrating.Version: 269.1

A lot more inconvenient nowThe app used to have the ability to tap on all the photos you want from your camera roll to the drafts area and you can just edit all of them straight from there. Simple. Easy. But then VSCO removed that feature and made it so that you have to manually scroll through your entire camera roll to edit a picture ONE by ONE. Now the only option when you select multiple photos is to create a montage. I don’t want that. I just want to move them all to drafts to edit them quickly. It was so much more convenient before. I run a small online shop, so I edit pictures often- and several of them in a row at that. It takes up twice the time to edit than it did before. Please bring it back. Update: it’s still bad. They changed it so that you can add multiple pictures back into the edit page at a time, but the edited pictures sit next to the raw pictures when trying to find them again in the VSCO app. So you have to scroll a lot again. Also, you removed the ability to edit screenshots. I can’t even edit a picture I got from my own camera roll because it’s a screenshot. That’s wild..Version: 346.0.0

Ok but what…I was on tiktok and i was watching a slow mo tutorial on vsco and we need to screen record because apparently you need to pay money to save it?😩ok but why do you need to pay to save a video? It's unnecessary that we have to pay to save the video, I mean other apps like CapCut don’t require you to pay to save the video, I mean it’s not that deep like why do you even need to pay save a video like what.😟.Version: 255.0

Money hungryLike other reviewers i’ve been using this app since 2016 and now you want to take away basic editing like TONE and CLARITY? even grain??? i didn’t even notice that you took away bio and pfp changing until now but i’m even more livid. you just lost a user much less a subscriber i would NEVER pay 80$ for a photo editor subscription. very upset.Version: 349.0.0

Step backwardsLove VSCO and have been using it for years. Usually I’m pretty patient with updates but the new layout has completely broken the workflow that I’m sure many people have perfected by now. Why do we need to modify the original photos just to do a batch edit? And now saving photos is under the share button but the camera roll option is tucked so far away as we have to scroll through all the social media options first? Why make the camera roll the first tab? It used to be so much nicer to see all your edits in one place - no one curates their camera roll?! It’s so ugly to see my camera roll first up :/ What used to be a simple app to use has turned into something overcomplicated... please at least have a video on how you think the new workflow should be and guide us through the UX/UI mess because I am struggling to find something that works..Version: 195.0

What the heck??I literally only downloaded this app for the grain filter a couple years ago because I like the way it looks in photos. I’ve used this filter on this app for years and never paid a penny for it then suddenly one day it was locked under a paywall! Same with some other effects that I’ve used for years. Disgraceful. How about come up with new original stuff to put under a paywall instead of taking away what we all already had and loved? So unfair, get it together vsco.Version: 318.0.1

Not worth itThe free version is just as good albeit may take longer to get the edit you’re after. Plus there is no free 7 day trial as advertised - Apple takes the charge as a hold and you can’t cancel before the end of the 7 days..Version: 119.0

Useless without save to camera roll!I’ve been using VSCO as a paid subscriber for almost 5 years. I’ve finally had enough after reading how many other people are affected by this “bug” where created content cannot be saved to the phones camera roll. Even the developers stated “workaround (save as draft first) does not work. This has been happening for months and I thought it was due to my phones storage, now I read that hundreds of other customers are stuck in the same boat and it hasn’t been fixed yet. My subscription is now rendered useless 💸💸💸 cheers VSCO!.Version: 207.0

VSCO premium: lost all paid presetsI am very upset. I was using VSCO for years and paid for the premium membership which was a one off payment. The app was very good but now that it’s moved to subscription (VSCO x) things have changed. For the user base like myself, I no longer have access to all the presets that I’ve payed for. I do not trust this money hungry company anymore, I was expected to be able to keep the presets or at least what I’ve payed for. It’s a very good photo editing app but you gotta subscribe to their offerings now in order to gain full access. (VSCO premium members like myself, with one time purchase are no longer valid). I do not see the “restore purchase” function anymore in support, there is only a “restore membership” function which does nothing to help me in order to obtain the presets I payed for. How annoying, I really loved this app before they made these significant changes.Version: 274

Used to be great but ruined by the new updateThe new update makes the app extremely frustrating. Especially for anyone who needs to mass edit, copy & paste edits, the new update is a nightmare. The differentiation between the new “drafts” tab and “camera roll” tab is extremely confusing and unnecessary. Why would you split the images into two folders? Whenever editing in the camera roll tab, vsco creates a duplicate of the same image which also got me quite confused many times. Shame that such a great app, which was super quick & convenient to use, is now an absolute hassle with most features not making much sense. Additionally edited photos sometimes don’t save with the correct edit....Version: 195.0

FavouritesThe favourites page is gone bring it back the update took it away..Version: 166.1

Issues with HSL settingI’ve always used VSCO to edit my photos, but recently I’ve noticed there’s been a change to the app - I’m not sure if it’s been updated, but there’s definitely an issue with the HSL setting that comes with the VSCO membership. Whenever I now try and adjust the colour settings, it instantly messes up with the red/orange/yellow saturation of the picture - even if I’m specifically trying to adjust the blue of a picture, for example. This has never happened before, and it’s very frustrating if you’re trying to adjust a single colour of the picture and it automatically desaturates the reds/oranges/yellows as well. Please fix this, it’s probably the main reason why I paid for the membership!.Version: 161.0

Avid Member No LongerLike many users have written recently, i’ve been an avid user of VSCO for the past 5 years and have purchased the annual pass for more editing tools & filters primarily. Thought the price was reasonable and I loved the simplicity of the app and how enjoyable it is to share photos with friends. Recently was emailed about the price increase for the subscription and was appalled! Instead of raising the price $5, they raised it a whole $10! Half the price of the original cost, and there’s nothing new being added to the app in addition to this increase. EXTREMELY upset with these money grabbing developers. Considering purchasing a subscription somewhere else since the company no longer has the best interest of their customers in mind. Going through the recent reviews, I found that the developers’ response to these types of comments are simply to review their new policies and features, but they’re giving no true reasoning behind the increase. It was a great app that really inspired creativity, but I will sadly have to stray away from it. Don’t waste your money on it..Version: 306.0.0

Bruh it ain’t workingWhy won’t it let me put a user name in ..Version: 200.0

MidPretty good and kinda fun but annoying you have to pay for the good stuff..Version: 280

Bad updateLike many others that have written recent reviews, I have been a loyal VSCO user for years now and have the paid membership. I used to love this app, but the new update is super confusing. I liked uploading a bunch of my favorite photos into the studio and then batch editing. It used to be so easy, but now it’s very convoluted and hard to copy paste edits across photos and make sure they are all consistent before saving a copy to my camera roll. Please revert and listen to your user base. :( Update: maybe I am missing something but I HATE that it now asks me to “modify photo?” and then saves over the raw photo in my camera roll with the applied edits. I like keeping my raw photos separate from edited because as editing styles change I know I always have the original preserved for use at a later date. In addition, there appears to be a weird bug where an edited photo looks different in the studio then when you actually open it in edit mode. The last version of VSCO was perfect; please please please revert. I’ve had to switch to the Lightroom app because I hate this update so much. I assume VSCO is trying to save money because server space for everyone’s photos and edits was too costly. I would rather pay more for the old app than deal with this new update. Please fix, how many bad reviews will it take?.Version: 196.1

Refund / disappointment experienceI have installed the app on my phone and I was having a look, when for no reason I have got a membership amount discounted from my bank account. I tried to contact the support and apple play to get my money back and there says I don’t have any account. There are no emails to contact, only links. Very disappointed. I hope someone from support could contact me and solve my problem..Version: 266.0

VSCO has lost itVSCO used to be a wonderful company, but has become greedy and lost it’s way, ignoring it’s long term customers that have paid good money for it’s products in the past. The latest update is diabolical as it removes two very important features for me: 1. the ability to save a file within the app. Now, if you edit a file, and want to save it, you have to export it immediately to the camera roll. 2. When exporting files there is no longer any option for output size, just full size presumably. This latest update is infuriating, why change something that is perfect and useful?! I am seriously looking at other alternative apps, so I can ditch VSCO. Sadly all good things come to an end..Version: 117.0

Developers - what are you thinking?!I’ve been using VSCO since day one and this is the first review I’ve ever written on the app store. The previously version of the app was almost perfect, but this latest version seems to of made the app infinitely worse. I’m not going to list all of the problems because they are obvious. Just bring the workflow back from the previous version otherwise I and many other long-term users will be forced to switch to another platform..Version: 198.0

Automatic delete SUCKSAutomatically deletes photos that’s aren’t in your camera roll :/ used to store pictures in VSCO to edit and post for later now they all disappear without me realizing and I loose all my photos.Version: 117.0

Step backwardsWith every update the UI gets more and more confusing. i’ve been using VSCO since the start, long time user and have paid for years of subscriptions but honestly can’t justify it anymore. How do I access the camera roll? How do I access the camera? I’m bombarded with other people’s accounts making using vsco out and about almost impossible. You miss the moment before you figure out how to get to the camera! The icons are so minimalist and similar looking I always hit the wrong one. Also... Mental Health check? Literally go f yourself. You’re not my therapist, you don’t know anything about me. I should look after my mental health by using your app in which most features are premium? How insulting and insensitive. This notification pops up every day and I’m certain I’m not the only one who finds this insulting..Version: 217.0

Do not recommendI subscribed to the yearly payment but when i tried editing a video it kept reminding me to subscribe when i was already subscribed.Version: 257.0

Turning regular settings into premium settingsVSCO was great when it was accessible to everyone of all economic statuses, it’s a great beginner app on how to edit photos and play with lighting. However recently, they started making certain settings that were originally not paid for, premium settings. Pretty whack. Used to like the app, but don’t love how they’re trying to make everyone pay for it now. Going to switch to a different editing app after being loyal for years! It’s just not right. EDIT: Response to VSCO: “Basic” settings like adjusting shadows and highlights should not he in the subscription. People, me included, have bought filters years ago, and now we are expected to pay even more money annually to have those filters back? On top of this, those who have subscribed to the app have complained on social media of the subscription not even working and having bad bugs in it. Apparently VSCO’s instagram bio is about having a community of artists, but when you’re forcing loyal customers to pay this amount for basic features that are otherwise free on competing apps, you’re not about community. And you are not about supporting poor artists..Version: 269.1

Terrible, every update kicks signs you outThen when I try to sign back in using touch on my iPhone and iPad it says that isn’t my email/password even though I saved my info and use fingerprint records to remind me of all my passwords/email combinations. Bought 12 months subscription last January just after the 1st of January 2018 and couldn’t sign in until the end of autumn and then Xmas update happens and I’m kicked out again. Emailed the company many times goy no response. Left review after review no dev response. Why is this one of the only apps that signs you out every time it upgrades then doesn’t let you sign back in . I lost the original app I bought then paid a subscription then lost that too. Shameless money grabbing.Version: 91

Out with the new, bring back the old!Listen VSCO, I’ve loved you forever—since 2013 to be exact. The only reason I’ve even added a second star is for the loyalty. This new layout feels like a slap in the face to longtime users. One thing I’ve always loved about your product is that it has been a constant in a world of changing (for the worse) social media’s. I feel like over the years you guys have done an excellent job updating and keeping the app fresh while apps like Instagram have continued to become more monetized and consumerism-focused. While VSCO has continued to be about the photos/documenting experiences. The new layout has shifted the perspective making it less user friendly and more about being corralled to use the member features. I’ve used VSCO for free for so long that truthfully, I don’t feel mad about now paying for the app to continue to use a longtime favorite, DSCO’s, but don’t make me suffer through a entire new app surface. It doesn’t feel natural or easy to use anymore. I used to love editing/posting on VSCO. Now it feels like a chore. 🥺 Please let us restore old versions. Please..Version: 192.1

No notice paywallPaywalled content with no notice. Hard to understand how this generates brand satisfaction. Sadly moving vsco into the never use again pile..Version: 269.1

Such a greedy moveHaving been a user since day 1. I have paid for filters before they introduced the membership system, I stuck around because it’s still a great app to use. I’m sorry to report that I will be deleting this app simply because they have the audacity to remove some of the best free features and simple make them a ‘premium feature’ such as grain, H/S, clarity, and some of the OG filters such as C1. I hate to say this because apps do need to make money to survive, but please respect people that have used your app for years and don’t just make the features people use the most and be greedy like this. If you would like to have your OG users subscribe, introduce better paid features, better filters, and stop doing things like this, people will just stop using you..Version: 272.0

No way of vertificationI have been using VSCO since January 2018. I loved the app and would use it daily. I recently got a new phone and have been locked out of my account. I no longer have access to the phone number I used to sign up being that it was back in 2018, and unlike every other social media proving your identity is apparently impossible to VSCO. I have provided them with my government ids, receipts with the old phone number on it and it is still not good enough. Unless you poured money into the app and have a receipt for that you will be locked out of the account. Sadly I have to be done with the app now and my account it lost to me. I used to recommend this app so much but definitely do not anymore. Instagram and Facebook all have verification methods to confirm identity and allow for account recovery but not VSCO. Such a shame as I would have been willing to become a member for my account given I am in my last year of university and would have been using it more. So disappointed..Version: 343.0.1

Please change it back to how it wasWas a easy to use app before till the new updates. Now you can’t even select multiple pictures to edit? Have to select them one by one. What happened?.Version: 196.1

You have ruined VSCOThis is my second recent review and I’m so disappointed, clearly VSCO has recieved overwhelming negative feedback about recent updates but has done nothing but paste a generic message below reviews. Please for the love of photography bring back the bulk editing feature. The new interface is a misery use, the camera roll and drafts tabs just complicate and slow down your work flow. Why do I need to edit a photo before I can add it to the drafts tab? The editing features are still good but it’s honestly so frustrating to edit a series that I’m looking for an alternative and will cancel my membership if it’s not fixed soon..Version: 199.0

Average features, money grabFor years I have used free features on VSCO which were fine, but over time it seems prices have increased and they have started charging for the editing tools I most frequently used. I started a free trial to see if I would find it worth it to keep access to my favourite tools that were previously free. I must have forgotten to unsubscribe and got a charge BUT still can’t access those tools. I have never logged out of VSCO. It tells me my current membership is free yet I’ve been charged. If im a subscriber, why is it still asking me if I’d like to subscribe? Gone downhill..Version: 276.0

Money Hungry, Disgusting AppI've used this app for years and enjoyed it. However, I woke up this morning to my preset recipe being locked due to the creators making C1, a free filter for as long as I've used the app, a membership-only option. This is extremely discouraging and outrageous, especially when this change happened with no warning. The fact that VSCO has suddenly changed many of their free options to paid-for options really goes to show how little VSCO cares about its members. Why now do these filters cost money? How were they worth nothing a month ago and now suddenly, without any premium changes to these settings, they're $8 monthly? I'm a low-income individual who cannot afford to pay $8 a month for an app I used for fun and to edit my instagram photos. I will be deleting this app and making sure everyone I know does so as well. I'm not someone who usually writes negative reviews at all, but this change makes me so beyond upset. I hope that the owners will take the time to look into their hearts and reverse this incredibly unpopular change for the sake of the people who need the money they would spend on a membership to pay for a roof over their heads..Version: 269.1

Add a “seen” or “read” in messagesThis is a wonderful app but the only thing is that I would really like to know if the person I’m messaging has seen or read my message so please do something about this and add this feature aswell another thing is , there’s no way to delete a single message or a message to be able to be deleted on both devices which my only option is to report and I’m still waiting for my report to go through as soon as possible so fix this ASAP aswell please..Version: 60.0

Priced outVSCO has been my absolute favourite photo editing app. I’ve been using it since the beginning and I’ve paid for it for years. But the price increase is madness. I won’t be renewing this month..Version: 349.0.0

Monetizing everything now :/They are trying to make u buy premium for even basic features now like the grain tool. Very very sad this app used to be fun and now its lost its way.Version: 347.0.1

You’ve changed man…you’ve changed!I used to love this app, it was such a great editing tool and I’ve been using it for like 8 years! Now I understand that they want to make some money so over the years they’ve added new features and created a ‘pro’ account that’s subscription based. It give people the option to either stick with what was free or go ahead and pay for the extra features. Totally for it. However, what’s annoyed me recently is that they’ve taken away filters I’m pretty sure I paid for and other random features and added them to the ‘pro’ account. So styles and workflow I was used to can only continue if I pay for them. Not cool VSCO!! Very disappointed in the way you’ve handled yourselves..Version: 277.0

Absolute jokeAre you for real???? Now we have to pay for GRAIN???? this app is getting absolutely ridiculous. Why is it different now when its been free to use over the past years??? Never using this app ever again. What a rip off..Version: 269.1

Poor business modelRemoving filters that were previously PURCHASED and along with features that used to be free was great way to upset your user base..Version: 280

Used to have a lot freeI mainly used this app to edit my photos to post to instagram. And I really liked the quick “copy” edits and the ability to apply them to multiple photos all at once. Imagine my surprise when those same edits (that used to be free) suddenly wanted me to pay for a subscription to use the edit that I already been using for years and years! I don’t know how this is even legal. I had another app do this to me a long time ago and the users were in an uproar and they eventually reverted the features back to the original settings and there was even some threats of lawsuits and apple App Store rules being broken so I don’t know how this is any different?? I’d give it five stars if the features were reverted back to their previous free to use settings. This just seems wrong on so many levels and I’m not quite sure why other users aren’t as upset. Imagine getting something for free for years in a row and then suddenly “Oh nope! You have to pay now!” Nothing but greed….Version: 274

Does vsco want ppl to delete their app?I’m genuinely asking bc what the hell. y’all created a “request a feature” option in the settings, but it seems you lot don’t even know it exists. how in the hell are you making people pay for settings that have always been free. you will not only add 0 features that your users actually want (maybe check what people are saying in your “request a feature” option as a gentle reminder), you’ll take an extra step to make their lives worse by making them pay for grain. GRAIN??? even TONE??? the iphone has shadows and highlights in the photo editor and you’re trying to get people on a membership for TONE. im in awe actually whoever came up with the idea to do this and was actually approved by whatever idiot in charge. i’m redownloading lightroom and prequel. good day:).Version: 272.0

Was amazing, has changed a lotI have been a VSCO subscriber from the days of their Lightroom plugins (R.I.P) and now use the mobile app almost exclusively. Other reviews call out some of the changes that have made the app worse—no separate album in your phone with VSCO edits, edited photos no longer added to the end of your camera roll, and edits save over the existing copy when pasting and saving edits. Now, the final kicker is that the edit tools have disappeared from the edit window (the tool bar appears blank) and the official response from VSCO support is that “they don’t know when or if this problem will be fixed.” The error continues even after deleting and reinstalling the app. The app is now unusable unless you want to guess the placement of the tools in the blank toolbar. Really sad to write this as I’ve been a supporter for a long time, but it seems VSCO isn’t reliable anymore..Version: 300.0.0

Not useful Anymore. I don’t want to create drafts.I have been a free member for over 6 years and with the recent changes to editing tools and removal of some free filters, I figured it would finally be worth purchasing the membership for an app I have used (for free!) for all of these years. After all, it is was a great app that I continued to use because they continued to make the app better and the membership is reasonably priced. However, less than a month after purchasing membership, this latest update was released and has made the app virtually unusable for my workflow. The new UI/UX is so simplistic it is difficult to use, the removal of the ability to directly edit photos on your camera roll has been removed (which was the reason I stuck with VSCO as my go-to editing app for so long), only being able to see thumbnails rather than the full image for imports, and just the overall degradation of the app has made me regret my decision. Just please please please add back the option to edit photos directly without having to create drafts for all my photos. My phone already has so little space available that I cannot afford to have an app that double up on storage data just to edit photos, it is ridiculous..Version: 274

Ouch! it’s a slippery slope….Imagine it’s your child’s 18th birthday and you give them their dream car. A few years roll by and on their 21st birthday you turn up at their house and remove the engine, telling them “hey I’m taking this back, you can still use it if you like but you need to rent it from me now”. They had been paying for oil changes and upgraded parts for years so aren’t happy, but you don’t care, hey you gave them the whole thing in the first place right! Ungrateful little leech. Well plot twist… you are the child and VSCO is your daddy! It feels like I’ve been using VSCO for around a decade now, and paid for their presets in both the app and for Lightroom. I’ve watched their app degrade from an amazingly simple UI with great features, to a convoluted mess with forced accounts. This latest move doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. It is a shame they didn’t leave this app alone and offer a complementary subscription based sister app along the lines of Temply. Oh well, we still have Snapseed at least. Looking forward to my cut and paste - Developer Response: “We are sorry to hear you are having difficulty accessing specific presets and tools.”.Version: 274

Free Features are now gone. DONT UPDATEVery disappointed in this User Experience. As a UX Designer and someone who has used VSCO for over 7 years. The app has gone downhill and I do not want to use it anymore. There is a constant message saying “Unlock 7 days of vsco membership for free” it’s all a money grab now and all of the editing features such as sharpness, and a few others are now locked so you can’t even edit a simple picture. Vsco you have really put yourself in the grave with your bulls* updates and changes..Version: 274

New layout is HORRIBLENot sure how new this layout is, if my app just now updated an old update or if this is brand new, but the new layout of the app is HORRIBLE. It is in no way, shape, or form user-friendly. I tend to dump a bunch of pictures into VSCO and then edit them, saving as I go. Now I have to scroll through my camera roll and I can only select ONE PHOTO at a time, I have to edit it right then and there, there’s no option to upload a bunch of pictures and then edit them later, and if I wanted to do that I would have to individually select each picture and “save to drafts” for every single one, scrolling back through my camera roll each time and THEN I can go to the SEPARATE “Drafts” tab to edit it. One of the worst parts of this whole feature is that if I select a picture and edit it right there in the “Studio - Camera Roll” tab, there is no way to save it to my camera roll AND save it to my drafts. So if I want to save it, I have to individually add it to my drafts, then change tabs, and edit/save it from there. If I want to edit it then save it from the Camera Roll tab, I have no way to go back and edit it later because it doesn’t go into my drafts, where it would normally be stored. I cannot emphasize enough, this update is HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! I am so disappointed and know that VSCO can do much better — it’s as if no one thought these changes through. Very disappointed. Please go back to the old setup..Version: 192.1

What a messLocking previously purchased and previously free features behind a payment is a horrible idea. Would love to have been in the room when that was approved. Will not be using this app any further..Version: 269.0

Non app owner viewsBecause my viewers of my vsco web page without the application on their phone can only view a certain amount of my content, I have decided to no longer focus on my vsco, which was my highest prioritized platform of social media, and now only focus on my instagram and Facebook. I enjoyed having my vsco as a personal blog type app available for my viewers to look at my page even if they didn’t have the app. Now since vsco requires those to have the app to see all content I must shift my focus to a more easily accessible platform. I wanted to share my art and more personal side but don’t want to be limited because an application wants more users. I thought vsco supported everyone’s differences and sharing those with the world but now I see their focus on strictly obtaining users and making money off of them. This makes me less inclined to utilize vsco and far less inclined to ever purchase again through vsco. Your app brand was different and used to focus on the individual and now you’re just another one of the others, focusing primarily on money and less of the freedom of the user..Version: 91

What a scamOkay but why did they take the free presets and make them part of the membership?? I think it pretty unfair because people still promote the app yet they want more money by signing up by a member when you have been using the same filters for 4 years straight! Change it back to normal!! It’s pathetic.Version: 139.0

Joke of an appVSCO is a great platform to share pictures with others as well as use its free to use editing features. This app used to be so great until it suddenly started almost leading the members to have a subscription in order to use features on the app that was free before. From changing the bio, changing my profile picture, and even posting itself gives me a little pop up saying that a membership is required. Why are we being forced to pay for something that is the bare minimum on the app? This is incredibly ridiculous and will only cost users to stop using vsco all together..Version: 347.0.1

Please sort out the new update!I love Vsco but since the new update it’s been a real hassle editing photos. The fact that now when you delete photos from Vsco it deletes them from your camera roll is extremely irritating, the app now also automatically saves them to your camera roll, making it really difficult going through photos on my camera roll and deleting the unedited copies. I think there needs to be setting to remove these features because they are not helpful and have caused me to lose my own photos, luckily the original photos where on my laptop, but I still had to transfer them to my phone and then edit them. The app is no longer good if you have taken a lot of photos in one go, the update makes you have to think a lot about what your editing and deleting and it a lot of hassle for something that used to be so simple, it’s now taking up a lot of my time and can get really confusing..Version: 120.0

Disappointed.Loved VSCO and spent a few £££ on filters that no longer are available to me because of the new yearly subscription. First off, the main reason a lot of people were drawn to this app was because of its versatility, you could still edit amazing looking photos with no yearly cost and the choice to purchase filters depending on your aesthetics. I won’t be the first to think that VSCO have put their existing customers off from buying a yearly subscription and if anything, should have made it optional to buy individual filters AND/or a yearly subscription. I don’t want to pay £28 a year to use the same two-three filters. Change it..Version: 113.0

One star for being scammyI’ve been using VSCO’s free version to edit my photos for the last five + years, and today when I opened the app, the only filter missing from the list was the filter I’ve been using to edit all my photos with for the past few years (HB2). VSCO gave absolutely no warning (or reason) as to why it would need to be paid for moving forward and in my opinion it feels gross and scammy that the ONLY filter that has been removed from my list is the one I use every day. Introduce new features that entice users to switch to the paid version of the app instead of locking out the features your free users use daily. This is giving “Netflix decides to introduce ads, when the whole point of Netflix was that it is ad free” vibes and YUCK. 10/10 would not consider purchasing the paid version simply out of principal..Version: 267.0

Upload errorIt appears I can no longer add a photo from my camera roll, only take photos in the app. Is this right?.Version: 200.0

Veco im not payingIm not Paying to post on vsco that’s ridiculous, paying to edit i get but paying to post dotn make the app free then this is actually ridiculous anf alot of ppl ik will stop usuing ur app because we have to pay to post, even a picture, insta, snap, twitter we dont have to pay to post so why make this to pay to post what kind of business decision was that.Version: 347.0.1

Stop all the unnecessary weekly updates!!!!!Stop releasing unnecessary and fake updates every week. I have to update this moronic app every week because the VSCO company releases fake versions with zero improvements every week just so they can stay relevant and fresh in the App Store. The App Store rewards apps that have regular updates, and sneaky developers take advantage of this by releasing new versions with zero updates and claim that they’re updating the app. It’s all BS, nonsense, unnecessary and pointless and horrible for the end user. Get your app right, then stop all updates until you have some new feature to introduce, but don’t be sneaky and misleading! Stop claiming that you are doing bug fixes and improvements because everyone knows that you are not! VSCO is a stable app and has been for a long time there are no issues so stop all the nonsense..Version: 108.0

Great Photo EditorBut, wondering why grain is locked now & needs subscription to access it. It was free to use before. Wonder what’s change??.Version: 287.0

UpsettingI loveeeee this app and used it daily but now im very disappointed and upset at the fact you have locked all presets and need to purchase to use basically them all and im not paying $13 a month to access them. stupid..Version: 272.0

The import images/video screen keeps flashing/refreshing.Every time I try to import my videos and photos, the screen keeps flashing/ refreshing for no reason. This defect kind of defeats the purpose of the app and it is very annoying. It should be a small patch to fix it but it has been going on for over 6 months. I have paid for a year subscription but I won’t be resubscribing. It’s a shame because I have been using this app for over 4 years and it’s sad to see it go down the drain and become greedier by the minute..Version: 186.0

Some extra user controls would help1. The most important one is to allow manual sorting/re-arrangement of imported pics. When I batch import my pics, they no longer appear in chronological order. It's very slow to import one photo at a time, in the order that I want them to appear in the studio. It would be much easier if I could click and hold a picture and slide it to the position I want it to appear in. 2. Include a brightness adjustment as well as exposure. Exposure increases shadows and highlights, similar to Levels in Photoshop, but it doesn't brighten the entire image the same way that Instagram's "Brightness" adjusts the photo. 3. Allow to desaturated a photo completely. Currently, the desaturate function still retains some colour in the photo even at the lowest extremity.Version: 39.0

Paid membership to post?Sooo mad about the fact that you have to pay to post pictures on this app now??? Vsco is one of my favourite apps to use and now I have to pay in order to use it. Not happy about that at all, very greedy move..Version: 347.0.1

A good app ruinedOne thing I hate in this tech era is paying for stuff and then no longer having access to it. The logic seems to be just keep screwing people so we make profits! Seems like the original customers that made this app great have been disguarded. I am tapped out in subscriptions. Originally bought all the filters. I can’t seem to access my photos or albums, and now basic features have been taken away! It’s like selling a sandwich and then charging you for every ingredient as extra. Moving on.Version: 274.1

Money Hungry DevelopersIve used this app for years, I’ve built up a selection of my favourite filters and today I login to find that all those filters that have been free (some that I selected to download while they were on sale for free) are now locked behind their VSCO X membership, leaving only 6/7 frankly terrible filters to choose from. This is a clear money grab, developers know exactly what they’re doing in this decision and it’s disgusting. Trying to force their fan base into handing over money every month to continue doing what they’ve been doing for years. How about you develop a monthly subscription that actually adds value? That’s why it isn’t seeing the returns you want because it adds nothing to the app. So now you’ve made basic services locked behind a subscription ... well done guys, I’ll find myself another editing app..Version: 121.0

New update has ruined this app!!Guys, I have been a very happy user of this app to edit my images for years, and this new update has completely ruined the experience- I used to just open my the app, import latest pics for editing from my recents, have my edits in the studio for me to update or download when needed and copy and paste edits to similar pics - this new update has made this whole process almost impossible. I have to edit the photos in my camera roll?! Then I have to go back and search for the newly edits photo to find the edits to copy - it’s just a mess. Please please please revert back to the old version, I do not see any benefit AT ALL from this new update and don’t get it..Version: 196.1

It’s good if you have money and you don’t mind payingLook this app is great . It has everything an editor would want for example smooth slow mo and many more however here is the thing you have to sign up and pay £25:99 every month to save the video TO SAVE THE VIDEO what is the point of making an editing app when you can’t save your edit onto your camera roll and you have to pay to get a free trial and I know your going to say screen record it but the thing that tells you to pay to save the video is in the way and you can’t take it off. This is only good if you wanna spend £25 just to save a video.Version: 261.0

Fix your filter shop👎🏻👎🏻It’s Good But When I Bought a Specific Set of Filter It Bought The Other One Instead. Buying Filters are just Waste👍🏻.Version: 35.1

Canceled my subscriptionI used to love this app..until it kept locking all my filters every single time I would edit. I couldn’t stand having to go to settings and “restore purchases” every, single, time! It drove me NUTS! You shouldn’t have that problem for over 5 months. I contacted help (terrible, non existent, generic help) and was told to “restore purchases”. I give up. I’m going elsewhere..Version: 164.0

New updateVSCO is always going to be my favourite editing app but the new update has made it quite annoying to select many pictures at once etc. Please change it back, was much easier to use and more functional!!.Version: 199.0

Too many toolsUsed to be my go-to app for photo editing on my phone. Now they’ve locked too many tools and features that used to be free. E.g. adding a grainy effect to your pictures now requires you to purchase that editing tool? Ridiculous..Version: 277.1

Terrible customer service!! And an update I would like to request.Honestly, I like how vsco is an alternative to Instagram, but what is most annoying is that it doesn’t show everyone your followers or likes, and doesn’t have a setting to turn it on. And yes, I get that people are self-conscious, but there should be a setting to turn things on like a publicly show your followers, likes, and comments. Like Instagram !! I am not allowed to have Instagram for many reasons. And many of my friends also aren’t allowed to have Instagram. many others feel this way about the likes, followers, and comments. And I have tried to contact you on the ‘request a feature’ page. But I got an email back saying ‘we do not respond to emails that request a feature’ or something along those lines. And that is truly disrespectful because the whole self-conscience thing I said earlier? Well, that makes people feel like they can’t be heard. So I suggest you talk to your staff and make a few updates, because the last thing I said about the ‘request a feature’ is truly outrageous. And also, please read more of the reviews for this app, as you will see my point as many other people feel this way, it isn’t just me. Sincerely, Angela.Version: 220.0

SneakyTakes your registration details, phone number & email then “oh, server is down” but thanks for your details.....Version: 129.0

Thanks for stealing my moneyTried the “free” app and forgot to cancel the YEARLY subscription auto payment in time. Yes, ultimately my fault for not unsubscribing before the cut off but would have been nice to have had an email reminding me/asking me “hey, are you liking the app? If not, don’t forget to cancel otherwise you’ll be charged $30 for a useless app you’ll never use.” Another alternative might that the default is to CANCEL unless you actively want to sign up for a whole year. I get that you need to make money from your app, totally fine with this but you need to do so ethically. I suspect this underhanded-hope they forget to cancel-tactic is part of your business model so I won’t bother asking for a refund..Version: 62.1

Fix the updateUsed to love VSCO, especially to import a bunch of photos and edit them at once. The new update is awful and makes it so difficult to edit and find photos that I barely use it anymore. Please change it back to how it was!.Version: 196.0

Not the dream it once soldVsco, so sad to be writing this review. I’ve used Vsco for a long time now I can’t remember how long it’s been. I used to beta test the app through iOS. I’m a keen photographer and loved how quick and easy the app was and how responsive it was. Especially after being familiar with the tools you can easily apply them skills through the app. Sadly the app isn’t what it once was. It’s very slow, when applying edits and copy and pasting it crashes a lot and takes a while for it to apply the edit. It has poor gesture controls. When you swipe out of an image it pulls you to the menu edit. There’s too many issues to keep track really. I used to love the app for the simplicity and the ease of use especially with the way it worked well when working fast and focusing on hours of editing. The links via the App Store show the support page doesn’t exist. So haven’t been updated. It’s rather sad. I know they’ve incorporated higher pricing tears. It seems they’ve gone another way charging for small enhancements. You can get better options on my normal photos and there’s other free apps where I can apply certain edits. It’s really just a shame. I used to love the app but the slow and crashing nature is enough for me to not enjoy it anymore. Really wish they invested the time to stabilise the app and update the support links and focus on this and then roll out new features..Version: 350.0.0

Hate the new updateI NEVER leave reviews but I’m so mad. I use vsco for all of my editing and I swear by it. Normally I’d say 5 stars no doubt, I used to upload a whole bunch of photos from a photoshoot at once then edit one and paste the edits onto the others and choose my favourite from there and delete the rest. But with the new update you can only move a photo to drafts ONE AT A TIME. It takes forever and there’s no apps like it I’m so used to vsco so now I’m just stuck. I really hope they fix it:(.Version: 196.1

Never loadsMy vsco app NEVER loads. Every other app that i have loads perfectly fine but vsco is a problem. maybe it’s not just my wifi, maybe it’s a problem with the app.Version: 35.1

It’s coolI really enjoy vsco, it’s a fun app I know many people who wish there were comments and likes things that normal social media apps have but I don’t mind, it has good filters but I wish there were more things for free. Don’t get me wrong this app has a lot of free things, but personally I’d love to have the filters the membership offers, but I don’t feel like paying money for it since I don’t use it to often. Just a suggestion. I ,however, do really enjoy the free Dsco feature I love taking short clips and I like how that’s free, it’s also a shame that I think you have to be a part of the membership to post videos. But unlike other apps this app has a lot more than just filters and has things like exposure and contrast to match what you think looks best on the picture there’s a large variety of things you can use to edit your picture, and I have to say they look amazing, I also like how you can repost it and favorite it, it’s different and I like how you can see the posts you have respirated, I also love the discover feature so you can see cool images that other people have posted I defiantly use the studio a lot to edit my apps, and I personally don’t own any social media but it’s cool that it can save to your camera roll and you can post it in other social media apps. Overall, it’s a great app and I would recommend it to a friend (I have actually).Version: 164.0

Not the greatestIt’s really frustrating having to pay for editing your own videos and would be a lot better with out paying for it.Version: 283.0

Latest update ruins the ‘free version’ of VSCO - use Adobe Photoshop Express insteadThe latest update of VSCO (in May 2022) has completely ruined the ‘free version’ of the app. I’ve been a VSCO user for 10+ years and previously purchased many individual filters, before the app moved to a premium subscription model. I have happily used the free version of the app to edit photos, but the latest update has significantly restricted the editing abilities. No longer can I use the ‘Clarity’, ‘Tone’ (highlights/shadows), ‘Grain’, ‘Split Tone’ (colouring highlights/shadows), editing tools. Popular filters (like ‘C1’) are now locked as premium filters, despite being free for years and years. The ability to ‘copy and paste’ edits across multiple photos is now a ‘locked premium filter’, which makes making several edits at once only possible if you pay a subscription fee. The free version of the app is now less functional than the standard iPhone editing tools. I’d recommend finding another photo editing app (such as the free and highly functional ‘Adobe Photoshop Express’ app) unless you’re willing to commit to the monthly subscription fee to access basic editing tools..Version: 267.0

New update ruined a good thingThis app was my absolute favourite for editing and so easy to use. Losing the mass edit function ruined the entire app for me. Not being able to copy and paste my edits without over writing the original pictures in my ACTUAL camera roll is an absolute joke. I NEVER gave vsco the permissions to make changes to my pictures in my camera roll. I’m so absolutely disappointed. Oh and it got rid of all my old edits from before the update.. cool..Version: 199.0

How could you do this?Let me start this off with a congratulations to VSCO and the lovely team behind it. I cannot get enough of the app and it’s an amazing tool that I use literally everyday. I have fallen in love with the powerful and elegant tools to have the capability to make every photo perfect. (It makes me feel so in control as an artist!) Aside from the questionable update every so often, I believe they have all been for the better. But I think this is... mind-boggling. How could you remove the functionality of the library? I don’t care about the storage on my phone and honestly, neither should you VSCO. I assume this is the ‘soft’ nerf to the usability of the app until you introduce new paid features. But my god, I hope these changes aren’t permanent. I started using the app about 3 years ago and didn’t have an actual account until about a year in. That speaks to how fantastic the editing tools and user experience were designed. Why take away (I’d argue) the best and ultimately most fundamental part of your app? The gallery is so essential. Not just to photographers, or just to the casual photo taking community but to anyone who spends their time using the app (with an account or not.) I want a place where I can put my photos side by side and compare them. I want a place where I can catalog all of my shots in a spot that isn’t my cluttered and disorganized camera roll. (A collection of the best shots all neatly organized into one page.) I want one app where I can edit, view, and share my photos all from one place. All of that is what the gallery is and should be. VSCO is meant to inspire the art of photography and I believe this groundbreaking change goes directly against that. By not letting me reflect on my shots, cherish the moments I have captured, and reuse/remix techniques and combinations I have crafted for future use, I believe VSCO is moving backwards. I PRAY that this update isn’t permanent and is only an experiment. (Plus, I really don’t want to have to proof my photos in my camera roll.) - P.S. as a subscriber to VSCO X, why are the features of the app being removed? I thought paying customers would be getting access to new tools, not having old ones taken from us..Version: 114.0

New updates take away good featuresA few of years ago they released a version that meant there was more space between the displayed photos. This was annoying to many people who used VSCO to see how their Instagram feed would look once they uploaded their next photo. We got used to it eventually as at least you could still see how all the photos together. However, with this latest update, photos you delete from your phone’s camera roll are also deleted from VSCO. This completely takes away one of the advantages that there was to using VSCO. I like the filters and everything else VSCO has to offer and I’ve paid for the yearly subscription for the last couple years. However, this latest update has taken away one of the reasons I have for using the app so I think I’ll switch back to one of the free filtering apps once my subscription ends if I don’t get fed up with it before then..Version: 115.0

Crashes all the timeLong time user of VSCO since it first came out. This is the first time I’ve had such a terrible user experience. - Very slow and buggy - Freezes almost every time I try to import or export - Finding the new UI with extra steps a bit frustrating. For example when I finish editing a photo I used to be able to export straight away (save to camera roll), but now I have to click on ‘next’ THEN export. Sounds simple but when the app is slow, that extra step is painful..Version: 175.0

I was happy untill...Well, where do I start? I never write reviews but today I feel it needs be coming from a photographer myself. I've been an keen avid user of VSCO for a good couple of years now, pretty much a daily basis. Today I decided to give the trial a go for the VSCOX subscription, however I have to say I'm really disappointed. Not even having the subscription for less that an hour I decided to get rid of it. I mean... What are you really paying for? Extra filters that look nothing like the Kodak and Fuji film grains etc? Maybe a few extra methods to tweak an image... Really? Nah it's not for me. If anything the regular VSCO does it for me. Why they have to charge for this I just don't know. I wouldn't recommend. Stick with what you know I say. Let's hope they don't charge me for cancelling 1 hour in to the trial!!! Sorry guys, that's 1 star from me..Version: 80.0

Unfair PaywallAs a long-time user of VSCO since 2014, I find myself increasingly disappointed with the direction the platform has taken, prompting me to share this negative review. While VSCO initially offered a unique and creative space for photography enthusiasts, recent changes have left me feeling unsatisfied and frustrated. One of the most significant issues I have with VSCO is their decision to put filters behind a paywall. When I first joined the platform, I eagerly invested in a collection of filters, expecting to have access to them indefinitely. However, VSCO's decision to gate these filters behind a subscription membership feels like a betrayal to loyal users like myself. It seems unfair to expect us to pay for filters that we have already purchased, essentially holding them hostage unless we subscribe to their expensive membership plan. Speaking of the membership, let's address the elephant in the room: it's simply too expensive for what you get. VSCO's pricing structure feels exorbitant, especially considering the limited features provided in return. While the subscription promises additional tools and access to new filters, the value simply doesn't justify the cost. Many other competing apps offer similar functionalities at a fraction of the price or even for free. VSCO's insistence on maintaining such high prices without providing substantial benefits is a disheartening business strategy..Version: 319.0.2

Have to pay to post???I used to love this app, then slowly they started making you have to pay for certain things like grain and other filters… which okay that’s fine i guess. BUT NOW YOU HAVE TO PAY TO BE ABLE TO POST TO YOUR OWN ACCOUNT?!!!! this app went from the best to an absolute dumpster fire. have had vsco for well over 5 years and will be deleting this garbage. i wish zero stars were possible.Version: 347.0.1

Was great - pay wall on features that were freeSo gutted, free features such as Grain, H/S tone and clarity have been put behind a pay-wall recently, forcing you to pay for yet another subscription. Come on guys! Have been a long time user of this app so so gutted to see this.Version: 273.0

Horrible.I got vsco because I wanted to see what it would be like. But then I realised that you have to pay, so I deleted the app and it sent me an email saying the $35 bill will go through unless I cancel before the next day. I cancelled it immediately and I still got the bill? I would like if you could cancel my subscription please because it just won’t let me cancel it..Version: 135.0

Bring the old VSCO backHate how if I delete photos from my camera roll it also deletes them from VSCO. HATE IT.Version: 119.0

Paid SubscriptionRandomly added paid subscription for particular features when they were used freely before….Version: 284.0

Well...I would say that it is actually a really good app to be able to edit all photos. However, i wish wish wish it had the feature where if u was to change to another device or u lost your phone and had pictures saved in editing mode but not on your camera roll (to save space for later or because u lost your phone like me😕). I say this because i went out on a trip and had a great shoot and i was editing them but they weren't saved nor posted on vsco because there was no wifi and therefore i had to wait till i got home but before i got home i had lost my phone and if i wanted to redownload the app on another device i will not my find my work in progress there which is so sad. I hope they enable this feature soon because i really like this app. In terms of vsco editing for videos it should at least be free like the photo editing but if they wanted profit they could enable some filters and some features to be paid for if they wanted to, so as a business i think they should think about the customers too not just their profit margin and co. Its still a really good app so dont feel too discouraged by what i said :).Version: 125.0

Awesome app, but haven’t been able to open it in 5 monthsI love this app, I have a passion for photography so I love taking photos and editing them with VSCO filters. But I haven’t been able to even open my app since January. I click on the app and the loading screen with the logo stays for a few seconds and then goes directly back to my Home Screen like I never clicked on it. It doesn’t seem to matter how many times I try, it will not open. I’ve restarted my phone, updated my phone, updated the app, I’ve tried everything. I don’t know what to do because I really miss the app so much, I’ve been having to log in through Pinterest to catch up on my feed, and I’m even paying for all of the features, which is now a waste of money since I can’t even use it, it’s been really frustrating. Im scared to delete the app because i might lose my whole feed but I may just have to start all over. I haven’t seen anyone else with this issue…Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated!.Version: 217.0

A wonderful app that needs some quick rethinkingI’ve been using this app for years and it’s been a wonderful app to use for quickly editing photos for all my social media, I’ve absolutely loved it all these years later. I updated the app yesterday only to find a basic and essential feature now hidden behind a monthly paywall, copying your previous edits and applying it to other photos! Imagine if Google docs did the same for copy and pasting text and images, it’s absolutely absurd! On top of that one of my favorite filters (hb2) has suddenly gone behind a paywall. I get the idea of making a membership but it should be there to enhance the existing free experience. Not taking stuff away that people have come to expect from the app for free and hiding it behind a paywall. Do better vsco because I genuinely love this app and it’s community..Version: 269.1

Stop pressuring for premium. Why did you take away so many of the features? this app is becoming less and less appealing..Version: 280

USED TO BE AMAZINGI’ve been using VSCO for years, way before it was ‘popular’. up until recently, it had been amazing and was the best app to use with extraordinary filters and tools to edit. but they’ve taken away features that have been free for years, so those of us who have been loyal users are now being forced to pay for them. i don’t understand why they’ve taken the grain tool away and you now have to pay to be a premium member to even be able to use the grain tool. if anyones having a similar issue, download literally any other app and they offer the grain filter free. i’m now using afterlight & ribbet - both free services. really disappointed because this was once a god tier app..Version: 269.1

Frustrating Storage Due To UpdateI absolutely love vsco & it’s filters & I’ve been using them for years. One of my favorite things was I could import photos into my vsco studio & delete them from my camera roll. Whenever I had the time, I could go back into my vsco studio & get around to editing. Sometimes I’d save it to my camera roll if I was ready to share/post somewhere, but most of the time I didn’t. Keeping it in my vsco studio until I needed it just kept everything organized and I could easily keep track of my photos and edits. However, this new update deletes photos from the studio if the original is deleted from the camera roll. This has only caused frustration and an immensely unorganized mess of photos in my camera roll. I don’t want everything there, I don’t always need everything exported from the app. And what if I accidentally delete the original? The edit I worked so hard on is gone. This update has only made me use vsco less, and other editing apps a whole lot more. The storage did not need to be fixed, it was functioning perfectly! Overall, this update was extremely upsetting..Version: 125.0

I don't often leave reviews but this is a TERRIBLE updateThis most recent change to the interface is just not practical... If photos are going to be sorted chronologically, at least give the option to sort it by how it appears in your roll. When you're using multiple apps to edit a photo, it's hard to tell which is the most recent edit and it takes way too long to scroll all the way back to find the photo if it was taken a while ago. When selecting and editing the photo, it overrides the original photo and does not save it for easy access to reedit later if needed (unless saved as a draft first which is an extra step). This extra time is not worth it and I might just use another app now. Please fix this ASAP..Version: 194.0

Where did the features goI’ve really loved this app over the years. Rated it really highly and enjoyed the quality of edits I could make on my phone. Just came to say I’m disappointed to see various features slowly making their way into the ‘subscription only’ category. It’s no fun opening up my saved edits only to find they are no longer achievable without a sub. I payed for filters over the years and everything, what a let down..Version: 294.0.0

Y’all fell offI’m a photographer and the app used to be me go-to editing app. VSCO took all the tools and filters I use for my edits and made them where I can only access them if I purchase a subscription. That was kinda trash because free version of the app already barely had any features. Now the app is pretty much a waste of space without a subscription. I’m not gonna lie y’all got me. I submitted and went ahead and bought in because I’ve been using VSCO for 2 years. Now this new “Studio” update is trash because I used to be able simply just copy my edits from certain drafts and paste them on to a bulk of photos. Now, I have to make those bulk of photos into drafts, edit them and then save them into my camera roll which makes the editing process more difficult and creates hella unnecessary duplicates of pictures that i have to go back and delete. My thing is, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it and y’all are doing TOO much. Please stop and fix this once great app. I don’t even leave reviews but the recent updates of this app doesn’t “appeal to a serious creative” like me and have ruined a once great editing app. I can’t even switch apps because i’ve financially dedicated a year to this BS😐. Please don’t leave a generic message under my review..Version: 274

Hugely frustrating save processI’ve been an extremely happy user of vsco for years and don’t have a bad word to say about it other than the new save/storage system, which now consists of: - take photo (and if wanting to use 0.5 zoom in iphone 11, you’ll need to first take in iOS camera then import) - you will now have an unedited version in camera roll AND the one you can edit in vsco - edit photo in vsco - save to camera roll * if you don’t want 2 copies of each photo clogging up your camera roll and memory: * - NOW go back manually to delete the originals out of camera roll (at which point they will delete from vsco studio so you better be happy with your edits) of course i found out the hard way when I deleted all the unedited photos from my camera roll before saving the edited copies, causing all the edited ones to disappear forever, losing hours of editing time. I get that it’s a huge use of server space to store everyone’s photos but surely there is an easier way?! other apps can ‘modify photo’ OR save as copy - why can’t you do this? I can see I’m not the only one getting frustrated with this so please do something!.Version: 137.1

Huge disappointmentVsco has begun to remove free features like grain and require a subscription to access these once free features, don’t bother downloading.Version: 267.0

No grain brings painI understand paying for the 8192 filters, but the simple grain tool???....Version: 283.0

Disappointed with VSCO membershipIn another method to earn profit, VSCO have decided make their users sign up to a yearly subscription to gain access to all their editing tools. Users, including myself, who have already paid money to access all of these existing tools, will now have to fork out more money to use things they’ve already paid for. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. I have been using this app for 5+ years to edit my photos and now I’m questioning whether I will continue to use VSCO Cam in the future. Why couldn’t you just create more filters and earn money from there? Or what about creating templates for Insta stories and charging money for it? I’m confused as to why you are now making existing users pay more money to use things they’ve already paid for..Version: 108.0

DisappointedI’ve really enjoyed using VSCO through the past few years, but recently it’s really been frustrating. With its most recent update, if you don’t have premium you can’t post DSCOs like we used to be able to. And i haven’t been able to post journals since this past summer (2020). The journals just sit in my journals section and the cover photo is blank and they refuse to actually post. As of this past day, i’m not able to post or even edit any photo without the app completely freezing up and not responding to touch. i’ve opened and closed the app as well as deleted and redownloaded the app to try and fix these bugs but it has not helped at all. Please come up with a solution. Also with the recent update, whenever i want to save a photo to camera roll from my drafts, it takes me to the camera roll section instead of just letting me stay in drafts. then when i want to go back to drafts, i have to scroll every single time back down to where i left off with editing. this makes batch editing really frustrating as well. i have expressed to my friends how upsetting this new update is, and they’ve agreed with me. Please revert back some of these changes..Version: 192.1

Import problemI love how I can edit my photos and use all of the tools. The only thing bringing this score down is that when I go to import a photo, it for some reason will only let me scroll down a tiny bit, before it glitches and goes to the top again. It’s super frustrating as i have to go into my camera roll and screenshot the photo I want, so that it goes to the top of the page when I want to import..Version: 174.0

After 9 yearsI used this app for almost 10 years, and the new update suggests that it’s time for me to move on from editing apps and just enjoy my photos with minimal alterations. Farewell..Version: 283.0

Nothing is accessible anymoreA year ago this would have been my top recommended, however, all the filters and features I had access to are now only accessible under a membership. How devastating it was to open the app for the first time in a while only to find that I can’t even use the filter I always used anymore unless I pay a monthly fee?! I remember being able to pay for the filter once and it was fully accessible but I find it absurd to pay monthly when I only intend to use a filter or two!.Version: 294.0.0

VSCO Latest Update is very badI have used VSCO for as long as I can remember and it has always been my go to edit app, however, the new update is horrible! The layout and navigation is confusing and not user friendly, and makes it a lot more complicated to edit and find my images. Additionally the new feature that forces you to modify the image is very frustrating, especially when copying edits. Being able to modify the image should be optional. I have attempted to keep up with this update, however I am sad to say that it is nothing less than extremely disappointing. I know for a fact that I am not the only one saying this, many of my photographer colleagues are having similar issues. Perhaps think about releasing a roadmap tutorial of how all the new features work, or streamline the software back to a more user friendly platform! I am all for change but this is just too much, and quite frankly has made things a lot worse than better..Version: 201.0

ChangesThe new changes made to the app have completely ruined it. You used to be able to upload images to the app and then edit them easily but now you have to edit one by one from you camera roll. The real issue is once you have edited it they save somewhere random and out loose your place in your camera roll which means you have to scroll back to find the rest of the unedited photos! It’s hopeless and so frustrating especially as it doesn’t save the images together so you can’t remember which ones you have edited already. So frustrating and with so many apps doing what VSCO does it’s making me now want to renew my subscription. I’ve used the app for years and used to love it. Please reverse the changes as it’s honestly horrible to use now..Version: 196.1

CHANGE THISI cannot STAND the new update. I hate how you can’t select more than 1 picture to add into your drafts, i hate how it deletes from your drafts if you delete it in your camera roll, i hate the look of it. CHANGE IT BACK. i do not pay for the membership for a horrible app like this..Version: 199.0

Well...I am not sure why I’m still on VSCO despite every bug and error that has happened. I have been on VSCO for at least 4-5 years. I really loved the app to edit and post photos. About 1-2 years ago I decided to go premium to edit videos as well. I was able to access premium features for about 1 month before it stopped working and asking me to sign up for premium ( but I had already paid). Recently I have been able to edit videos and access premium features, but around 1 week ago I tried posting a picture to VSCO and nothing happened. It loaded for a few seconds and then nothing. Now if I try to upload anything it literally doesn’t do anything and nothing posts. Not sure what is happening- I updated the app and my iphone software and turned off/on my phone numerous times but still nothing- VSCO says to not delete and re-install but I am not sure how to solve this problem... EDIT: I sent a message to vsco support and received some sort of automated message... lol.Version: 178.0

Last update is horribleThis last update made the user experience horrible. As a UX/UI designer for over 5 years I can say with conviction this last update knocked out the usability. I can never get used to having to importing pictures one by one and this dark theme makes everything worst visibility wise. VSCO is not instagram or lightroom, the brightness is what made everything so clear, objective and simple. I happily paid for a year subscription but decided to cancel it due to the recent updates. I hope you guys have good research backing your decisions, it would be depressing if your designers are changing the design based on trends or just plain boredom. I know UX can be fun, but you guys are impacting the usability negatively. Progress in the right direction is always good and necessary but you guys are taking a questionable path..Version: 196.1

Disappointing updateI’ve used and loved vsco religiously since the days of the old app and am a vsco x subscriber. I know this probably won’t be read or changed back, but I’m really, really disappointed with the new layout. I usually throw a bunch of photos into vsco, edit some of them, then save the ones that come out the best. I reeeeeally don’t like having to edit right from my camera roll then save as a draft if I don’t want to save it back to my camera roll. I do so much comparison and tweaking in the app before I save the ones I love, and this new workflow is not conducive to that at all. I also absolutely hate that copying and pasting filters overrides the photo in my camera roll — who in the world would want to do that?? Overall, this is just mega disappointing. I’m really tired of companies fixing things that aren’t broken and not listening to consumers, so hopefully you hear my two cents. Thanks for making an app I’ve loved for many, many years. I would hate to abandon it now, but the workflow is not sustainable for me in it’s current state. Edit: copy-pasting the same response on everyone’s review is not a good look...😒.Version: 195.1

New updateI loved vsco, but after the update where if you delete a photo from your camera roll that was also uploaded to the app, it deletes in both, I lost interest. I find this extremely irritating and I miss the old format of the app..Version: 116.0

Too big to fail? Dream onI could write a long, detailed review. Or feedback to be helpful, but VSCO don’t listen, despite claiming to. No problem if you don’t mind reading copy and pasted unhelpful responses. But for those who are interested, here is a snapshot. I’ve used VSCO regularly for around 8 years now, and as a paid member for 2. But today that period comes to an end as the app has become impossible to use, customer service nonexistent, and a ‘community oriented’ business that refuses to apologise and listen. VSCO was an epic app, a true trail blazer in its field. But they became complacent and arrogant like a Wall Street bank in 2008. The update is rubbish, they know it, we know it, yet they didn’t care. Customer service doesn’t care. Engineers don’t care. CEO doesn’t care. They claim to have fixed the failed update 2 months later, but the damage is done. We need to support alternatives to VSCO before they screw their customers again and are able to get away with it. A great alternative is RNI Films. There are many others too. It is a shame that after all these years, today I will delete VSCO after such a diabolical handling of the downgrade from the previous version. So long. Insert automated copy and paste unhelpful response from VSCO here ⬇️.Version: 203.0

Recent update ruined my favourite appEditing photos on VSCOcam has become unusable due to the latest update. After using this for years it was by far my favourite and only photo editing app that I didn’t hesitate to pay for. I wouldn’t of hesitated to give 5 stars. It used to be so intuitive and offered every function needed to professionally edit many photos. However the latest update has ruined it so much that it’s no longer usable. You can no longer select multiple images to import for editing. Having to do 1 by 1 is an awful set back. It makes the process unnecessarily slow. This update has made it too difficult and slow to navigate and use. Please stop pushing me to post to journal. I want to save a draft or save to camera roll. Also the black interface.... If this is the future we should at least have the choice to revert back to white. PLEASE bring back the old interface, and learn from the mistakes of this update, it was so easy to use, otherwise I will sadly be finding a replacement and ending my subscription. *in response to the developer response - I do not have problems publishing photos. Please actually read the comment above. I need to be able to import multiple images from my camera roll for editing - I need the studio to function as it previously did..Version: 194.0

Literally what happened?Okay, so I’ve had VSCO for years, but took a break from it in 2020 for obvious reasons. Since then, I’ve been using other photo editing software, and I’m in the midst of finally editing some photos that I’ve had backlogged. I go through a cycle of trying to figure out what software to use when editing sets of photos, and decided to go back onto VSCO to see if anything was viable. I was first surprised with the layout. Having to constantly import photos instead from your camera roll instead of them already being accessible in the app was an immediate turn off. Then I said “okay, check out what the filter and editing layouts look like”. I was even more shocked to see what features were once free are now under a paywall. I mean seriously? You want ME to pay to add grain to my photos, a feature that used to be free? Genuinely gobsmacked. I’m seriously starting to loathe these companies that were once accessible for most now being whisked away to corporate greed. And don’t get me wrong, I’ve had a VSCO X membership, but at the time of having it, the extra features to pay for made sense. What a waste, I genuinely loved this app, but similar to Picsart, this is another unnecessary money-hungry company..Version: 281.0

Please give me back my paid preset filter packs!I have been using VSCO since its early days. I love the basic editor - the VSCO team have made so many great improvements to it over the years. I loved it so much I bought almost all the VSCO preset filter packs. Today I noticed that most of my presets are locked again, requiring a subscription to unlock. I know you need to make money going forward, but I paid for these preset filter packs under the pretence that I would have access to them for as long as I used the app. I’m frustrated and disappointed, particularly because there wasn’t any warning - just log in one day and your access is gone. Please give me back the preset filter packs!.Version: 183.0

New updateI LOVE this app I use it everyday, but the new update that doesn’t save your pictures in your “studio” if you delete them off your camera roll REALLY bothers me. I never have many pictures on my camera roll but I know thy if I wanna go back and look at stuff they will be on my vsco. But not anymore! Change it back!.Version: 114.0
