✓ Great but some suggestionsI love the carrot apps. I was very happy when carrot weather let you choose what level of language as a setting. Carrot todo has a few quirks: - Carrot doesn't understand that you have to sleep and seems to count that time against you - No language setting, you can't get carrot to use more colorful language which would be motivating in the todo app and is awesome in the weather app - a widget would be great - completed items export - more unlock items such as themes - having to pay for options that are standard in other apps is rather tedious. I get you have to make money but its a but excessively employed. Otherwise great apps, pretty stable for the most part, good back compatibility for older ios versions.Version: 5.2.6

✓ Incredibly Entertaining, Not Actually Good at ListsI love the Carrot group of apps. Their weather app is my default weather app on my phone, and I enjoy the workout app when I don’t have a ton of time. And while I love the story and goofiness of the list app, (I’m level 72), I had removed it from my phone for quite a while because there’s no easy way to get stuff into it. I use Clear, because a) there’s a companion app on the Mac, and b) because of that, I can easily copy/paste lists directly into it. Not to mention, if I’m typing something on my phone, I can type, then just drag down to add another item. In Carrot lists, you have to hit done before you can move on. It’s just not as easy and intuitive to use, and the lack of a companion app means its not as easy to put my list for the day in there. If it didn’t have the story line, the great evil AI, etc, it wouldn’t get 4 stars, I’d give it one star. It’s a very basic list app with no companion app that really offers nothing but a weird AI sense of humour. It just does that exceptionally well..Version: 5.2.6

Though, having used it for a while now & I've managed to unlock some useful extras (like setting deadlines), it would be handy to be able to set deadlines for all tasks - I rarely need reminding about simple things I can complete in 1 day. ✓ Love carrot. And the cat.Definitely an app worth owning. You'll either get encouragements or abuse depending on what mood carrot is in. And you better be productive to keep carrot happy. Although I wouldn't say I'm more productive, I just love using this app because I love seeing what carrot has in store for me. Collecting points to increase in levels makes you (sometimes) include redundant tasks just to see what it'll do next (ok really often). Note: turn on notifications :) you'll get random notifications in the middle of the night like "don't panic but my sensors detect a ghost". Muahaha fun.Version: 4.1

I've given it 4 stars because I agree with other users that it would benefit from some additional features. I hope developers will include these in future updates. In addition to what's already been suggested, I'd like to be able to set-up tasks to repeat periodically without having to associate a time of day with that task. There are many tasks that I know I need to do daily, but I don't do them in any particular order or at a set time. ✓ Worth it For Me (YMMV)I love the simplicity of this app in terms of the list itself. I often find myself sitting and watching TV, thinking I have nothing I like to accomplish on a day off, only to remember several important things once it’s too late. Having an interactive, funny, sometimes mean AI to chide you or “encourage” you is a neat feature. ... I suppose I DO want to please it and that helps me get my stuff done. I populate the list with literally everything I want to accomplish for the day, from the mundane (take a shower, brush teeth) to errands and important events, so that I continually keep this rabid taskmaster at bay ... and the result is that at the end of it all, I feel really good about what I’ve accomplished at the end of the day. I have ADHD so the reward system and the fact that carrot actually gets mad at me is much more of an incentive than an emotionless list. I’ve needed a central repository where I can instantly write down whatever pops up in my brain and not have to worry about forgetting it. ✓ Always entertaining, if you’re REALLY bored...I couldn’t wait to try the 4-pack of Carrot apps! Unfortunately, I wasn’t really feeling like this one in particular, hit the mark. Although a weather App is a Weather App, I was surprisingly impressed with carrot Weather. If you get into the Settings and make a few tweaks, and then push ahead to get some Rewards, these Carrot Apps ultimately had me looking forward to using one again. My favorite has to be the task listing that you can popular and then cross off when you’ve completed it. The more you complete, the more rewards. Which then ups your Player Level, which in turn allows you an ability that you couldn’t do up till then. Long story, short, I expected something a bit better, BUT as the days progress and the rewards PILE UP, that’s fun. Theirs one thing that does bother me a lot, there are about 5 different voices to choose from, and there EXCEPTIONALLY BAD. And I’d have to purchase one of their other voices if I wanted to make any changes. Plus, I don’t even get a preview of the voices. The Carrot 4-pack was on sale when I made my purchase, but I do believe that I’d buy it again, as long as it was no more than $5. The Carrot Weather App is the BEST weather App I’ve ever used. ✓ I use it everydayOnce you get through the first few stages and unlock the main features its a really handy ToDo list with a great UI Story elements are a fun bonus, and her mood swings are a fun feature, though I so find myself setting myself many more easily accomplished tasks than I would with the reminders app. This is so I can have a steady supply of completed tasks to keep Carrot's temper under control :P I have had a few intermittent problems with reminders not appearing in the notification centre which is why not 5 stars. ✓ She seems... kind of deadI am very into CARROT. I've tried lots of other to-do apps, but none of them could motivate me like her. However, I do have some ideas that could make CARROT seem... even more alive (and more terrifying to anger): 1. Make her oculus sensor move! Make it adjust like a real camera, and adding blinks would give it an extra oomph! 2. I haven't made CARROT angry yet, but if her voice doesn't get deep and gravelly when she does, I'll be mildly disappointed. 3. Let her have random mood swings! You could be doing tasks perfectly, but she suddenly gets angry for no reason; that would be terrifying! My only criticism would be that the app thinks I'm completely inactive whilst I'm sleeping during the night, and therefore is in a bad mood when I wake up, so maybe a sleep setting would be useful? ✓ Fun for tasksI've used a few task apps now, currently using Pocket Informant, used Things, using Trello at the moment too. Carrot brings its own charm to the game. Sometimes other task apps can get a bit tiresome and complicated. Complexity has its place but so does simplicity and Carrot does simplicity so well. It has a clean and uncluttered interface, and brings just the right amount of fun and attitude to liven up the chore of getting through your tasks. Adds to the natural reward of completing a task very well. And the idea that the app gets more sophisticated as you complete more tasks adds enjoyment. I usually end up throwing away “to do” notebooks and never opening productivity apps because they promise to make me feel better but make me feel worse. This app tries its best to make me feel bad about myself and ends up cheering me up. This app actually rewards you (with a laugh) for crossing things off, so I find myself more inclined to add things to my list and make an effort to get them done. ✓ Great if you’ve got ADHDI’ve struggled my whole life with ADHD and the associated symptoms. This app makes getting things down enough of a game to draw you in. Then once you get that mini dopamine hit from the first “reward” it’s much easier to keep going. It’s also great for helping you prioritize. As someone with ADD, I get easily sidetracked with other things that also need to be done, and wind up forgetting the things that need to be done first. Carrot helps me remember, oh yeah. ✓ Finally, something that motivates meThis smarty pants does the impossible— she gets me to actually check things off my to do list. Using more of the stick than the carrot sometimes, but still... If the point of a to-do app is to get your tasks written down, then pretty much anything will work.
