✓ USED to be goodI remember playing this game when it first came out, it have had to been my favorite at the time. I was so addicted, I played every day. It’s the little things in life that make me happy. ON THE CONTRARY Ok you’ve most likely heard about this in the comments already, YES THIS UPDATE IS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!!! Oh boy where do I start? What hasn’t been said already? It’s bad bad bad! You see, when this game first came out it was this AWESOME high score game with gadgets and bosses and it was just so good for a Despicable Me fab such as myself. And then this update came along and now it’s a bunch of mission trash! We wanna play the game consistently and not stop after we complete a mission! That should be like a side thing!! After all these years of love, loyalty, and dedication I made the heart breaking decision to delete it. Sad to let go of something I loved but if you don’t love it anymore why keep it? ✓ Jelly LabI used to really like this game, until the jelly lab was taken away. I was getting really close to finishing a level and then I come back a few days later and it’s changed. I was really disappointed and I feel that a lot of other people feel the same way. In the new version, there are no difficulty levels in it, so there isn’t much of a challenge in the game anymore. ✓ Used to be good, new changes stinkI started playing this app close to the beginning, when it was just an endless runner with some special events. It was decent-I liked being able to switch through the various stages, and the boss fights kept things interesting. Then came the mission mode, and things were still okay. Now I’ve come back after about a year or so, and I’m disappointed. What happened to the Despicable meter? You were rewarded for being a long time player, and you kept playing in order to watch your score rise. The despicable actions aren’t even that satisfactory anymore, especially because you only get about 1,000-2,000 points per action, and they won’t tell you you did it. This app was very pay-to play before, but at least there was stuff to keep you coming back. I’ve been playing for ten minutes and already getting bored again. ✓ Lost it's appealAbout 8-10 years ago, this was the best app on my phone. I used to lose several hours of the day playing this, trying to outscore my sister. It was fun - despicable multipliers actually meant something, you had banana goals, there were bosses to battle, mini games, the works. You could genuinely have an endless run. These days, it's about minimising your timed run, because - whether you like it or not - your simple 'goal' was accomplished and it's over. Time for masses of loooong ads. It's a lie to call this an endless run game. Disappointing that profits win over customer satisfaction. Not surprising, but very disappointing. ✓ Too much has changed…Over the past few years, I have watched this great game turn into a pretty bad app which aims towards making money. Why are there tickets for the main part of the game? Before the massive update, you could grind through the levels for as long as you wanted - now you can only do a couple missions until the tickets refill. Most of the the characters are impossible to get because the rewards from prize pods are unbelievable. Why on Earth do I have to spend hundreds of well earned tokens, just so I can ‘hope’ to get something worthwhile? Even if you spend all your tokens on the prize pods, you’re still taking a very big gamble because the chances of getting the featured epic card is very low. Things like events and some power-ups were removed which is a huge change to the game. Without events, it became much harder to obtain the prize pods which (beforehand) you would get for winning an online event race. People who spent money on the game before the update have actually lost their money as well as their progress; just like the rest of us. If Gameloft introduced this new update as a new game, like Minion Rush 2, then none of this would have happened. Loads of people would not have left the game..FreewiseguyVersion: 8.2.2

✓ Why exactly did they have to change things from how they were?Did they have some legal issues with Subway surfers or Temple run over the system of 3 lanes of play in an infinite run game, and therefore have to make it mission based? The need to focus on finishing the missions really hinders any chance of simple, interesting fun to be had avoiding obstacles and going for an actual high score, but with the missions, if you want a high score you’ll have to play around their conditions, which is a pointless struggle as sooner or later, you’ll meet their guidelines and be forced to stop. Similarly to what should be done with Angry birds Go, should it ever return to the App Store, Minion rush should revert to how it once was, as a simple running game with the funny minions..OwnamusketVersion: 8.6.0

Then they released a huge update that changes the game, the levels! I remember playing on my iPad and got to level 200 something and it was really fun. No one has really talked about it but I personally loved the multiplayer race mode with all the power ups. Then this update came along. Now I’m not saying it is the worst update ever but it changed a whole lot of things which most where not welcome. The new character system is kind of a grind. Again it’s not the worst update some things were cool like the new currency but most of the problems is not getting refunded or compensated for stuff. Personally I never bought anything but a lot of people had this problem. I would really love to see the old level System before and the multiplayer system. ✓ This is the second time!!!In 2015, minion rush went from an okay, infinite runner, to a super fun, level game with locations from the Despicable Me movies, where you collect bananas to buy and level up characters, and completed different objectives to win different levels. Plus the boss battles. They were always in there. Loved it. I got to level 279, and then in 2019 it updated big again. I lost all my progress and characters I’ve been working towards for years. Now, there are coins, which are new and make bananas almost useless, plus the setup of the game is confusing. Once you get the hang of the game, it’s kinda fun. You play challenges and objectives to work towards ten goals, then get a grand prize, usually a location or rare character. It’s okay, but I liked the old version better. The developers are obviously not gonna bring back the old version of the game, so please make a way to restore your progress. Or maybe let us choose which mode of play we want. I loved how you would have to run away from Victor at the end and how every 10 levels you would go to a new place. When you look at the locked Minions in the old version it shows you their actions, but in the New Version it just stands there looking all grey. 3. The tubes in the old version looks like a Despicable Ops and you can play the missions again, but in the new version the despicable ops only lets you do the mission you need to complete. 4. I used to like when I swiped up and down on the tubes in the old version, but in the new version it only swipes up and down on rooms! 5. The Global Goals puts missions that are so difficult to do. I finally vanquished Vector with some help from my brother, but when I passed on to the next Operation I found out that the first objective was to do a full Daily Challenge 6. ✓ Nothing compared to the oldI was obsessed with the original version of minion rush and honestly am completely disappointed in the direction it has taken since the jellies and jams. In the original one you had secret features such as the disco lab and you could run for as long as you want. Now you cannot run freely, buy outfits or power ups and must wait until you complete the missions. As soon as you do the mission the game terminates when I would rather play for fun. ✓ Used to be betterI just recently redownloaded this game to relive some memories playing this game was a was younger but it has changed a lot since I last played. Extremely difficult to get prize pods in the shop as well, not an infinite runner like subway surfers (the missions aren’t too bad I guess) and although I’m pretty sure this wasn’t a thing when I used to play, there isn’t a standalone skin for Bob!! He’s the best minion by far and he only has variations like “Pajama Bob” or “Skeleton Bob” but other minions like Carl and Jerry have their own standalone skins!!!! If you see this please add as soon as you can please! Still a big fan of the minions and Minions: Rise of Gru was certainly the film of all time (Just narrowly beating Morbius I’d say). ✓ Awful updateWe all knew the game needed an update but this is terrible! All the tokens used to upgrade costumes and power ups in previous version are now obsolete! Apparently I have to upgrade costumes AGAIN (ie more coins spent/actual cash!) and power ups can’t be upgraded! Special missions now don’t have any extra challenges ( run for 800 seconds etc) which makes it extremely boring and unless you want to pay for tokens (again) it’s almost impossible to complete. As a game mainly aimed for kids who enjoy the movies, you have ruined this game for them. 6 year old now doesn’t understand what he’s doing, where he is on a map or why his power ups don’t last as long. Especially when navigating through to and from games, races, maps etc. Also EVERY single time you finish a mission and open the prize box. CRASH. Video perks no longer work, crashing and/or throwing constant error messages saying no internet connection when connection is actually fine. ✓ Why must you bully me in this way Minion RushHi. I’m a average minion rush enjoyer- scratch that, an ex-minion rush enjoyer. Before the major update this was what I put all my time into. Eventually I reached level 550, and about a week later I stopped playing. Then, I returned to this game some time in August 2021 and I couldn’t believe it. The entire game was remade and I had lost everything. My half a million bananas, my hard earned minions, everything. I ended up trying it a couple days later and the tracks seemed the same(thank goodness). Eventually I got tired of the daily challenges, the different floors seemed all the same, and the leaderboard was just plain pathetic. Another thing: what happened to the multiplayer game mode? It just vanished a week before I stopped playing all those years ago, looking back I think it was one of the main reasons I quit playing. I really will miss it because it was the one mode that kept me from deleting the game overall. ✓ Terrible updateNot only the game lost its progress but also its full of glitches and bugs. I have been playing since morning in the train and I have only 169 bananas whereas all the bananas that I gathered in each run is lost and not added to my account. I loved the game but with all new “features” and issues I am not likely to play that much. Free revive is also frustrating, it doesn’t ask, just uses the free revive. Sometime I crash just at the start and I would not have used the free revive as in previous version but in new version, I have no choice. It’s the greed that will let this game down. ✓ This is the MOST Ridiculous Update ever!!! 😡🤬When I downloaded this game a few years back, it was the most enjoyable game I had. There were different maps to play at (AKA Gru’s Lab, Minion Beach, Amusment Park, etc.). Each level would just be part of a map that can be past if you complete all of the levels. (Like Candy Crush). I would be addicted to the game and it would be very hard to get off of. I would still play the game like that if it didn’t have the new update. When that update was put in, it took out everything that was fun about it. The infinite runner turned into an objective based levels. If you got one objective, you would try for the next, next again, then it would just end. That is not what an infinite runner is Gameloft! The layout is very confusing, you have limited energy, and there is absolutely nothing that I can be happy about. They took out the good levels and they just simply didn’t care. ✓ The Game was better in its earlier days.The Game back before the missions update was an endless runner with simplicity and hours upon hours of enjoyment- originally the goal was to pass your maximum distance or compete in races, although the missions gave you a new goal and it was to just play the game and complete the mission and it would cut you off once it the mission had been completed, it would just kick you from the level entirely and make you start a new mission. I remember this game in the earlier days and (I don't know if you still have this feature) but you fought vector in gru’s lab after reaching a certain distance; this was a fun feature. The game itself tests your reaction speed to obstacles and the gameplay and visuals are really good, the locations and costumes are very realistic. If you spend enough time on the game, a lot of the costumes that you can only get through purchasing can be obtained, which I do like because not everyone can afford to spend money constantly on a game. The game itself also offers watching an ad as payment for some items, which is fair, but recently even after watching an ad I somehow get told my connection is cut out and I’d have to watch the ad again? The ads are usually a minute long, and I found recently that a lot of times I have to interact in the ad to be able to get the ad to count (not sure if that’s just a coincidence because this wasn’t a problem last week). I also find this game drains my battery a bit, not sure if that’s because I have to watch so many ad videos, like 100% battery could be gone within one hour if I’m playing this game. ✓ Update of game is too radical and infuriatingThe update is essentially a completely new game, and should have been introduced as such. As a separate new game. The changes are vast, and take away a lot of what a player has achieved in the game (extras, props, bananas etc). It’s really disappointing the extra abilities have been spread so each minion only has one ability/extra that can be upgraded, and the others remain at the most basic level. It was frustrating in the old version that there was nothing to spend millions of bananas on eventually, and the game had become a little boring - but a complete overhaul and redesign of the game goes too far and changes too much. ✓ I would give the update no stars if possibleThe update basically makes the player start over. It takes forever to level up. 3 stars at a time. My next level up is 800 starts. The missions take forever. For example right now one of my mission is to fly Gru’s rocket 800m. That is for one star. My best costume gives me the rocket for 12 seconds at a time. Each rocket at best is 200m. To get 3 stars I have to get the rocket 10 times. Even at level 220 or whatever on the jelly lab did I have to get any power up 10x to get 3 stars. I read some of the reviews for the update. All the developer responses are the same. They are just copied and pasted. That is terrible customer service. I don’t understand why with the update I have to do all the achievements again. That should have been part of what is saved from the old version. I have played every level. For example, in Minion rush you used to be able to run for as much distance as you were able to, sometimes you would run into portals that randomly changed the place you’re running in. But now this game is really greedy, after almost every run you get a pop up for them to get money. Even if they throw pop-ups and probably get a lot from in-app purchases, they still throw out ads! To say the least, I was surprised about the new update. Also I hate it. It was so much better as the original app. I can tell even though I got stuck on the tutorial. ✓ Nothing like the original gameI downloaded this back in 2014, which is about when it first came out. Originally, it was an endless runner with different areas you could travel to, there were side missions, and there were bosses to defeat. I would have rated it 4-5 stars. I got bored of it after a while and uninstalled it, but I reinstalled it last year for nostalgia. I could barely recognise the game. Ads everywhere, battlepass, completely pay-to-win, and worst of all, it’s not even an endless runner anymore. You complete quests, but as soon as they complete, you stop running. In the old game, the quests would be completed, but you still continued running until you hit something. In the old game, there were costumes you could buy with bananas (the game currency), and they gave you special buffs. There were a few that costed tokens (the premium currency), but that was it. In the new game, you have to get costume “parts” from loot boxes, and you could upgrade them for bananas. All in all, this game is worse than the original one. It’s a crazy expensive piece of micro-transaction and advertising software for adults! And you have to subject yourself to them repeatedly for 30 secs to get bonuses or revive! Lately I’ve really been hating mobile games because of all the ads and forced purchases on those games so I decided to come back to this game. ✓ This used to be good but isn’t nowI got this game first about two or three years ago and it was brilliant. You had to complete all of the levels and get enough of the fruit to get to the next location in the game and I would spend a lot of time playing it trying to get to the next location. Sometimes I would even go back and do old levels just to see how far I could get again and how many bananas I could collect without using a revive. I had got to about level 300 over time and then something came up saying that I had to get the new update. I was not interested in getting the new update but there was no other option. I turned it off and went on again and the same thing happened. Eventually the update was on there and after about three minutes, I noticed two things, I had lost all of my progress and also you could not go back and do them again like you could before the update. This also really irritated me. I liked the collecting of the fruit to get up to the next location rather than going up in these ranks.
