HOMER: Fun Learning For Kids for Positive User Reviews

GREAT App!!Homer is by far my favorite educational app for my son right now. He is just about 2 and he already knows all of his uppercase and lowercase letters, plus his colors and numbers 1-12. I started looking for some educational apps because I wasn't sure what to help him learn next and we have tried several different apps but most of them are not user friendly for such young children. Homer is great and my son has no problems navigating it on his own! He loves it and is so obsessed and begs me to "pway game" "Ohmer!" I would definately reccomend this for little learners! After using it for a little over a month he now knows most of the sounds the letters make!.Version: 4.10.1

Excellent cumulative reading programThis is an excellent app that actually builds reading and spelling skills. It builds upon itself instead of just random words, it takes the child through each letter sound and blend. Then the child gets a large assortment of first readers (stories) with the new words they are learning and they can record their own voice reading the story. My daughter learned very quickly and enjoyed the app- she asked to use it on a regular basis. I love that I am able to keep the recordings of her reading and that she has actually learned to read. This is an excellent curriculum and app- my child and I both recommend!.Version: 4.0.8

Was unhappy but now...Hi! Originally I was unsure of this app. But my 5 year old loves it. The games challenge him and make him think. He does not get much screen time, and when he does, this is what he asks for. Saying that, there are some features I as a mother would like to see. 1) uk English in a British accent (we are based in the uk!) 2) uk spelling. For example in the uk it is MUM not MOM. if I could change the language from American English to uk English, I would probably give this app the 5 stars I think it deserves..Version: 5.6

Program + Customer ServiceI think the app is amazing. I realize its pricey but compared to Osmo it was worth it in a sense. I have now since cancelled my renewal (for financial reasons - not because of app). When we were using it, I found my child was very engaged in the apps and enjoyed it. I had cancelled last year but got charged this year again (I remember getting a cancel email too but must have deleted). Their customer service department FIXED THE REFUND IN THE FASTEST/MOST TIMELY MANNER. For that alone I think the higher price tag is worth it. Great customer service goes a long way! I would highly recommend this app..Version: 10.15.0

So good for the kidsMy friends was recommended me this great app for my children. They said that with this app, the children can learn and have fun on the same time. That is the best way for kids to learn quickly and they will remember what they have learn for a longer time. The graphics working fine. I sure will introduced this great app to my colleges, so they can take this to there children, and help them have much more fun for learning. Thanks to the developer, you have created an amazing app for kids. Thanks again and hope this app will be better and better in the future..Version: 3.4

Awesome app, well done!Fabulous app. My children love it, and it has improved their reading skills dramatically! The content is informative, interesting, and relevant... perfect for developing and inquisitive minds. Well done on wonderful app!.Version: 4.0.1

GrandsonMy grandson loves all of the activities..Version: 3.02

I love itMy kids love using the app. I had it first fir my 6 year old, helped him read faster and now my toddlers are on it and it’s helping my son with speech delay to speak more and he’s getting challenged each day. He loves hearing the stories and loves to write out the letters of the alphabet. I am on a monthly subscription and that’s a bit expensive but will use it for now..Version: 9.0.3

Takes a while to openGreat app but sometimes it won’t open and I have to deleted it and download it again. For it to work I think needs a update besides that it’s amazing and my kids love it!!.Version: 8.3.1

Very engaging resource! My son whines about EVERYTHING he finds even slightly boring or uninteresting. He is struggling to start to read. I think he may even have a learning disability and most things I try with him make him whine 🙄 I saw an ad for this app and thought it was worth a try since it had a free trial. In two days I knew I found a winner. He looks forward to using the Homer app and finds it very engaging. He loves his “monkey teacher” and the stories and games! He gets excited when he levels up and can see his progress. It was easy to decide to continue with the program after the trial was over. This past week he started identifying small words in texts while we read together and he also started to spell small words to me by sounding them out. I added my 3yr old and she loves it too! She has speech problems and recently started speech therapy. This is the perfect additional resource to help me get her ready for pre-school and kindergarten. Thank you!.Version: 5.0.5

Too easy for my 7 year old kidI tried to make the app harder for my 7 year old but it keeps on saying she is at the right level (although she has mastered all exercises. My 4 year old is doing great..Version: 9.1.6

Almost perfectI use Homer for four of my five children. The app has a great interface and has engaged one of my reluctant learners. The only (and it's tiny) thing I would love to see included is the option to upload an image of the child for their profile for those who can not yet identify their name - my youngest child is two years old and enjoys the app but struggles with the ”who is playing section” and with her growing independence of ”me do it pweeze” a photo option would make this so much easier..Version: 5.5

Love it so farMy older daughter is dyslexic and her teacher noticed that she was struggling to have confidence with reading. Came across this on Pinterest one day and decided to try it. We have only been using the free trial for a few weeks and we love it!! My younger daughter is addicted to it right now. She is using the preschool pathway and loves everything. My older daughter is on the growing reader pathway and is gaining confidence, even if she is sometimes bored (it’s geared more towards younger children and she’s 8). I run a very small prekindergarten for about 6 of my friends kids. Our neighbor is incredibly bright for her age (newly 5 and can read chapter books) so I made her and her little brother profiles. However, it has her on the pre-k pathway and she says that it is really easy. Her brother is only 2 and is on the same pathway as my youngest(3). I remember that when I made my first profile, I gave me the option to chose another profile for my older daughter but I can’t do that now. Is their anyway that I can chose the pathway I think they should be on? Overall, this is a really lovely app for any child who wants to have an educational boost. Totally recommend!!!!.Version: 4.4.0

Taught my under two year old her alphabetDuring the last year we were all sick on quarantine, and in desperation gave my under two toddler an iPad with homer on it to buy us a bit more time to sleep. She loves it. But more than that, the next week she climbed onto my lap and accurately identified a quarter of the letters on my laptop 😯we had not been working with her on them at all previously, so she had to have learned from the app. Now several months later, she knows all her letters, including some lower case. She can identify numbers too, and can accurately count objects in groups. Homer really helped our inquisitive baby get a head start on learning!.Version: 9.1.3

CoolI love the app so much its just so fun.Version: 6.7

The kids love it!!A really well designed app. Our 3yo and 6yo both love it. We heard about it from a friend of a friend of a friend and thought we'd try it out with our kids whilst on holiday in Mexico. Their positive response was immediate. Looking forward to further development from these guys..Version: 1.7

LoveI absolutely love this app, I wasn’t completely sure how well it was working until I went to the movies with my 3 and a half year old and she saw the numbers on the seats and said, look mummy that’s the number forty three! My friend and I were in shock. It has taught my daughter so much!!.Version: 5.11

Love it!Loved this app for my kiddos. However my kiddos have now outgrown it. I am having a difficult time figuring out how to cancel the payments though..Version: 8.3.1

Love Homer!I have taught 4 of my 5 children how to read. My youngest had not picked up on it very quickly. By Christmastime, she still did not know her ABC’s well, and was not doing well with reading. I was unsure of what to do next, but knew something different needed to be done. I decided to try Homer. It has been the best thing we have ever done to help our youngest in her early education. After using Homer for 2 months, my daughter can confidently say and write the alphabet in order. She can also read many sight words and sound out many others. She is not only learning so much from this app, but she loves doing it. Even at night she wants to do her “school”. Homer has been such a God-send to us..Version: 9.0.7

Great for young mindsMy son loves this app. Great games and activities whilst being educational and age appropriate. An amazing tool in learning to read.Version: 5.10

What’s more than 5 starsSo I read the reviews and I was won over instantly. I downloaded the game and signed up to pay $8 a month to have my son play it after the free trial. Now my son is super hyper and I never let him have screen time but he’s behind in talking and knowing what he needs to know. So I let my son play this game and at first I’m like is he just coloring but they make it fun with puzzles ,coloring, identify the coloring game with ice cream lava for the kids and at first he skipped them reading the abcs now he stands up and dance and sing the abc in his special talk he does and you can hear him pronounce them better. He loves that he can color with the sticker of the hot dog and burger. If I was to make a suggestion that thing that just have the letters go by and it has what the letter start with as it goes by then it sings the abcs at the end make it into a game because my son was trying to touch the letters and identify them as they go by so maybe like a hide and find with other things not like the game with the balloons but like have a farm background with other things and have them identify the letters as they go by and have it go by fast and see how much they can get as it go by I think that would be fun. Thank you so much for helping my son learn in a fun way I have literally told everybody I talk to with kids about this app..Version: 6.2.1

Great appMy daughter loves it, and is learning well.Version: 5.2

I had problems with it crashing but a reinstall fixed itThis is such a great app. My two boys 2 and 6 love it and it really helps with reading and spelling. I had issues with both the reading and stories apps crashing but uninstalling them and reinstalling them fixed it. Because the kids' progress is stored with the login it was all retire when reinstalling. Hopefully it doesn't happen again, but the developers reached out to help immediately anyway so that's a good sign :-).Version: 8.3.1

Great but needs a few things if I’m going to payThis app is great. Easy for my kid to navigate and he enjoys most of the games. However, some games should have a way for parents to adjust the difficulty or the app to recognize when to adjust the difficulty level for some things. For example, the pizza making math game is great but is too easy for my kid. I feel he would benefit from some increased challenge by adding more toppings or increasing the amount of required toppings. It’s always “place 1 pepperoni” or “place 3 mushrooms.” Also, I would be happy to pay if there were stories that were interactive. My kid likes the storybooks one with the little girl and was confused when she asked a question and you couldn’t interact to help her solve the answer but instead you wait around and it happens on its own. Sorry , that was a long sentence. I am very tired and probably have better things to do, but I hope you know what I just meant. But yeah, interactive stories and real time problem solving..Version: 10.23.0

Finally something that keeps his attentionWe homeschool and my son (just turned 6) is so dang brilliant! Sometimes however, certain things do not hold his interest. Reading is one of those things. We’ve tried different curriculum, workbooks, other apps, flash cards, reading books, you tube videos... nothing held his attention (and other apps left him wandering around the page without actually working on the educational part of it). HOMER is the only app that has held his attention. It’s also the only app that is MAKING A DIFFERENCE! He actually enjoys learning how to read when it used to be the last thing on his mind. I’m so happy I’ve discovered homer for him. And get this! His 3 year old sister is also using the app and loving it. I am so happy to have this tool to use as an aid in their education!.Version: 5.4

Loving itI love this game it’s fun and I’m 6 and I’m in year1 it’s teaching me how to spell and form my letters properly and use my sounds also phonix.Version: 5.9

Games take up too much timeI've been trying to sit down with my child to do these together but as soon as the "tell the story" activity comes up she spends all her time doing that. I understand the value of using pictures to guide her imagination and that story telling is a skill she should learn but she's not telling the story, she's just treating it like stickers and it's very distracting and time consuming. The drawing game too. If it would come up less often them it could be more of a reward for completing a module. As it stands this is just a waste of our time and I'm going to invest in other reading apps. Maybe if there was a time limit to these it would be better. Or give us some way to disable them. Also it bothers me that the instruction is so rigid about how to draw the letters. Maybe this is important for some reason unknown to me but I think there are multiple ways to draw letters and it is frustrating that she can't do it the way she knows how..Version: 6.2.1

Expensive but good appMy daughter has been using this as a very beginner(to reading). She really enjoyed it for a while, but has quickly become too easy. I wish there was a way to skip ahead if the child finds a part too simple. To make it more challenging/more interesting. She has now lost interest. Very good app to start tho..Version: 9.0.4

The app is okI’m a lab elementary teacher and I was looking for some apps that would help get my own children off on the right foot for reading! They did enjoy the app, however my daughter became bored quickly with the sight words part of the game. They enjoyed the different songs, books, etc., however they have to download all of them. This obviously became a problem with each item. They also claim to be able to track your child’s progress. This isn’t accurate. You can see what your child sees in the app. No progress, no data, etc. I emailed to company a while back about this and didn’t receive a response. My kids enjoyed it, however didn’t learn very much. Looking for a new app....Version: 5.11

Learning done right. My son is not interested in learning letters/reading. This has engaged him with fun simple learning games that are mixed with creative games in just the right amount. He loves them. Also, the way it’s set up forces him to do the things he’s not as interested in to do the games/activities in the next level he is interested in. He went from refusing to attempt drawing letters to being excited he accomplished one on his own in about a (of playing every other day) week. Much better than other learning apps because it’s not too busy and keeps kids on a path that they are forced to learn on. I’m thankful for it. I had to force him to play mouse but he asks to play this!.Version: 6.5.1

Homer AppFor those who are English users, this app can cause some confusion e.g Mum and Mom and other forms of pronunciation. But on the whole this app has given my granddaughter great entertainment..Version: 6.2.1

My problemI was excited to try Homer but my problem was when I was doing my date of birth it would only let me do 17th and December. After that it wouldn’t get off the free trial so I am stuck on that without being able to use homer 😡.Version: 6.8.1

Loading issuesApp is very good but recently It just loads and doesn’t come..Version: 8.1.1

Give the parent and child what they want!I appreciate that this program offered a 1 month free trial. I had been interested but afraid to try. Now I see Homer is absolutely worth the monthly rate. My son loves electronics, of course. And I always try to limit them for all the behavior and health reasons pediatricians warm us about. This app lets my son play electronic games while building his kindergarten reading skills! I love that when setting up, the app prompts some questions to ascertain where your child should start, so that the games are not too advanced nor too basic for where they are! This app has given us both something we want and we both enjoy it!.Version: 6.3

Homer is the greatest app everMy daughter is 2 going on 3, and she has been playing Homer since she had just turned 2. Watching her write her ABCs and learn sounds and words makes me feel so proud. I’m so amazed by the progress she has made, I have to give some credit to Homer! The best thing is she’s learning while having fun, which to me is the best way to learn. We started with the free trial and by the end of the first day I knew I was going to purchase the app. I even have fun playing with her! I love how she can grow with the game with the ‘Pathway’ as she gets older. The other amazing thing is Homer customer service. I was having issues with the app so I emailed Homer and they told me all I had to do was update to the newer version (the issue was totally on my end.) Customer service responded so quickly and were very friendly. I recommend Homer to anyone with a child age 2-8!.Version: 5.2

Good app butVery good app, I wish there is an option to buy it at £40 rather than monthly subscription. My kids enjoyed and it dose teach them.Version: 6.8

We love itWe love it and have used it since our little guy was 2 years old. He’s now three. He’s learned a lot from the app and really enjoys playing it. It’s the only app he uses on his iPad. I don’t mind the monthly fee because we get so much use out of it and the levels keep coming. He has learned colours and letters and a bunch of songs etc from this. He was speech delayed so some of the little videos have also helped with that. It’s worth the money..Version: 8.2.2

4/5!My overall rating for this app is a 4/5 due to the fun and interactive lessons making learning fun for kids 2-8! There are a seeminlgy endless amount of activites with a variety of inegrative methods in multiple subjects (i.e Math and Reading). My favorite part about it is that it was developed from an "expert-designed" perspective so you know the lessons target basic skills kiddos need in school for those particular subjects. I also like that it is personalized for each child's age and learning level. This is a good way for them to learn indedependently as well as be creative with the interactive tools! It really helps kids have a base/foundation to practice new ideas and concepts to supplement what they learn in school as well..Version: 10.24.0

This is app is nice! The app teaches kids a lot!.Version: 10.14.0

Kindergarteners expected to readTried it because kindergarteners are expected to read. BEST PURCHASE EVER! Games and stories are short and keep interest. Content changes as my daughter continues along her pathway. She's already starting to recognize letters, even trying to name them. She saw a capital F and called it an E, but that's an amazing start! She loves making silly letter creatures and fairy stories with stickers. She can record her voice at the end of some of the stories, and the really great thing about that is that I can access all of her sticker pictures, voice recordings and such. Speaking of stories, there is a wide variety, including informational text, fantasy, science fiction, etc. and she gets to choose between three different stories each time. For as cheap as it is every month and how much my daughter is learning, this is the best purchase I've ever made!.Version: 4.0.5

Good but plz no payment me poor laughsI cant do my r and I downloaded this but can u make it free no payment plz cause u heard what I said me poor so plz I also Inked ie because homer is a Simpson characters name but other than that it’s good I actually haven’t even started it because of that payment so plz oh plz homer producers creators directors plz.Version: 8.3.1

Great app for my disabled sonHOMER has made a huge difference for my 9 year old son, especially during this pandemic. Virtual school does not work for him because of his disabilities; he is unable to do work on the computer. I had him using other apps on his iPad, but they weren’t helping him to progress. We have HOMER set on toddler because that is where he is at academically. I love how HOMER will be able to grow with him. Not only has HOMER helped him with numbers and letters, but also his speech. He is nonverbal. He says a few words, but it can be difficult to understand him. HOMER is helping him pronounce his letters and their sounds. Thank you HOMER!!!!.Version: 9.0.5

It’s fun for a 4 yoMy 4 year old uses homer. We like it because the activities are short and easy unlike some other educational games we’ve tried and the levels are passed quickly which builds confidence and make it more enjoyable for my child.Version: 5.11

Absolutely Brilliant!I came across app by chance and it is honestly the best subscription I commit to. My 3 year old daughter thoroughly enjoys it and has progressed so much, attempting to read and spell everything she sees! And on top of that... she writes her name and other words `(she has learnt to spell) so well for her age. She jumps on near enough every day and is progressing consistently. My clients, friends and family members have all seen her growth and signed up! In my daughters own words “I like learning to read, drawing and any kind of part of it with Milly and Homer. I love them”. Highly recommended! Invest in your children..Version: 6.8

Great game but some glitchesI love this game. My 2,3 and even 5 year old LOVE it and are very engaged. For $8 a month is nothing. I lose that much in a couch a month or drop for quarters in random toy machines they play with for 5 seconds. This app keeps them engaged and happy, laughing at the funny videos and bragging about new skills. My 3 year old has had amazing reviews from her teacher in the last 3 days I’ve had this with her reading and letter comprehension. She has only been doing it for 3 days and she is ahead of the class when she was the one slacking. The games and jokes and fun tricks them into learning!! Sounds crazy but it’s great. MY ONLY COMPLAINT is the sticker games. They will do stickers for days if I don’t go to the next activity. BUT with any educational game, it’s something for parent AND child not just a tablet tutor. You have to do it with your child for the best benefit. Sometimes the games won’t go to the next level so we have to redo the entire area but it’s honestly not a big deal because they’re still having fun..Version: 6.9

My 2 and a half year old son love this! Great kids appMy son especially likes the folk songs so I go through usually one lesson of phonics then he gets to listen to 'Jenny Jenkins' or any other song. The bright clear pictures in the stories and lessons are great and he likes to choose the cupcake hat. Please add some more songs soon!.Version: 1.8

Great app but too expensiveThis is a great app my 5 year old loved it at first but got fed up after a agile which is why I cancelled after the month trial as I also think it’s expensive to keep paying every month it would be better to have a one off payment to buy the app for good but again at a reasonable price! I’m annoyed that even after I cancelled the subscription it still charged me for another month I’ve now cancelled it again and I’m hoping no more payments are taken a I really cannot afford it!.Version: 7.0

Perfect for Pre-K and Kindergarten ReadinessAs a busy mom, I am so grateful for the Homer app! My daughter asks to have iPad time for Homer specifically. Before school let out, I was given a list of areas that my Naomi needed to work on prior to school starting in the fall as determined by her teachers. Homer actually gave a quick pre- assessment questionnaire in order to make a targeted learning path for her— I was so pleased to see that the path they created for her was exactly what her teachers said she needed to practice. There is a good mix of engaging reading and writing practice and Naomi is able to navigate with little to no help from me. Her brother (8) actually likes to do the work with her sometimes, laughing alongside her to the funny stories and cheering her on when she does the practices correctly. As a teacher and mother, I highly recommend!.Version: 9.1.5

Great in so many ways, spotty executionThis app has been amazing in helping our 4 year old learn to read. The games and exercises are engaging and well thought out. My son is definitely learning and enjoys it. Win! Some things, especially after the last big release are not so hot. The animations for the listening exercises slowed down SO much! They add what feels like an extra 5 minutes to each day’s lesson. Worse, it gives him time for his attention to wander. Also, the scene building game at the end of each lesson is just broken. Plain broken- we can’t scroll after we put down the first picture. Otherwise, we are quite happy with the app, though I do wish the exercises would challenge him a bit more. There’s a fine line between being easy enough to not get frustrated and challenging enough to make faster progress..Version: 9.0.4

Incredible learningThis app has taught my 2 1/2-year-old so much when I set out to teach her alphabet I went to standard ABC route but homer taught it in a fashion that’s easier for them to understand. She is almost 3 now and can write 10+ letters as well as sound out letter sounds this app is worth every penny! She can also play matching games and spot the differences in pictures! She’s very confident in her speech!.Version: 9.0.1

I had no idea my son was this close to reading! My kid is only 3.5 and we read to him every night but I never really pushed him to sound things out or write on his own. Then he started playing around on this app and he’s SO INTO IT! He is really starting to recognize “sight words” and tries spelling and sounding out words in our nighttime stories. The letters he’s tracing on the screen look awesome. The breaks he gets to draw and play along his “pathway” give him the break that keeps us BOTH more comfortable with this early learning. He’s having fun and I can see progress, this is screen time I honestly don’t feel any mom guilt about..Version: 5.10

Seriously - this is a must haveSo well thought out. As your child moves through the lessons, you can almost see the light bulb going off above his head. No pressure either (like timers, etc) so children can just learn at their own pace..Version: 2.2

Homer is brilliant! This is a brilliant and one of a kind learn-to-read app for kids. Homer is very comprehensive -cleverly combining a phonics program, wonderfully illustrated stories, facts about the world, and art activities in a very engaging and fun way for kids. Both my 3and 5 yr olds absolutely love it , and I don't feel guilty handing over the iPad anymore as Homer is so educational. I highly recommend it!.Version: 1.7

A fantastic app!As the father of a 4 year old, I find many online apps or programs to be woefully lacking in functionality, comprehensiveness and style. Learn with Homer is the complete opposite. Well thought out and intuitvie with an engaging interface and a fun design, this is a fantastic learning tool. What's more important is that my 4 year old daughter thinks the same !!! Thanks - great work..Version: 1.7

What did you do to the app?All the characters, the games, the style and everything was replaced, the character used to be a pigeon teacher but now it’s just boring new characters! Can you bring back the old version? My 4 year old daughter is devastated..Version: 10.25.0

Learning made fun & interactiveWe’ve been using the app with my 3 year old for a few weeks now and it’s something she looks forward to very much. We love the wide variety of games and activities that cover many topics such as reading colors alphabet numbers etc. she would spend many hours on it if I let her but we limit it to max 30 mins each time. We’re very happy with all the learning that’s happened in just these few first weeks!.Version: 10.13.0

A Creative and Innovative Experience my child loves!I downloaded and subscribed to Homer with the hopes of getting my child interested in learning and reading at an early age and I couldn’t be happier with the result! With Homer, my son (age 4) has his interests and passions turned into personalized lessons and levels that he absolutely adores. He loves following along with his favorite characters and is showing more enthusiasm for learning every time we open the app each night. Even his teacher has noted to me him becoming more engaged with his schoolwork! Love the experience so far and would recommend to anyone who wants to show their children the magic of learning..Version: 5.6.1

MUST HAVE!I’ve had this the HOMER app for quite sometime I must say my toddler & I love this app! First off to start it has a bunch of different activities to complete from tracing letters of the alphabet to songs & rhymes. It amazes me how much my daughter learns from this app. The best part of HOMER is the section of art, where your child can create their story! My daughter goes all out she has so much fun putting “sticker like figures” on empty background // picture created for her to decorate. I have a subscription with them it’s about 8.99$ but it’s totally worth it if you think about it. The HOMER app also includes the app Stories, when you have the subscription which is nice like getting 2 for a price of one. The stories is really nice. Only thing is I wish they’d put more. They do have quite a few though so it’s fine for now. The customer service is absolutely wonderful, if needed any help they get back to you & are very friendly. I would love to see more games! More activities to do for sure. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future of HOMER. I definitely recommend especially if you have a toddler!!.Version: 6.1

Awesome reading app... my 4 yr old is readingDownloaded the app mid January and began doing a lesson (level) every other day with my 4 yo son. He already knew his letters and phonics but was having difficulty putting sounds with multiple letters together. As we started to go through levels I really noticed improvement and by end of March he was able to read simple sentences with the words in each level. Each level has a story at the end for reading practice and after a month and a half he is reading them on his own. We also practice reading books with simple sentences and he can read most of the words. He does need some additional practice for reinforcement outside the app so we practice the words that confuse him. Overall, I would totally recommend this for preschoolers and kindergarten age children. Note the app needs to be utilized regularly as repetition is the key for learning in this app. Having your child do one level a week will probably not be the most helpful..Version: 8.1.3

More than just a 'learn to read' appAlthough Learn With Homer is primarily a literacy educational app, my children found the 'Discover the World' elements to be their favourites. The variety of topics and the level of detail is just about right for pre-school or early school years. The 'Learn to Read' elements are supported with sections of stories, songs, poetry and puzzles, and I like that these are drawn from many cultures and eras, not just your standard 'Mother Goose' collection. The only downside of such rich content is that the app can be a little 'heavy' on your your iPad's memory usage if you download a lot of lessons (especially if you are letting the kids use your device and their games are amongst your other content), but fortunately you can manage what content is stored locally and re-download content if you've removed it quite easily through your account profile. A great app - well designed and has substance..Version: 2.9.0

Not workingHi, my child loves this app, it hasn’t worked for a while now. Please fix..Version: 8.3.1

So incredibly awesome - and beautiful! What a wonderful, wonderful app - have only just downloaded it, but seriously beautiful - and smart. A great combo of phonics, and even better - general knowledge topics for kids. Definitely easy for kids to follow on their own and be curious. Plus there is a great function that allows kids to record their ideas/thoughts plus draw their own artworks - you can then share those with your family. Brilliant stuff for their scrapbook!.Version: 1.7

Super high quality educationI almost never write reviews, but I have tried so many pre-k education apps and non of them are even come close to Homer. Most apps are just games that have some mild educational connection such as jumping over letter of the alphabet. Homer actually teaches. It makes my kids think and challenges them to learn one step at a time. My 2 year old and 5 year old both use it multiple times a week and they love it. My 5 year old has dramatically improved at reading over the last 6 months and it is mostly due to this app. I’m a customer for life, no doubt. Thank you thank you Homer!.Version: 5.4

SuperMy 6 year old you struggles with alphabet and reading - really is into it and i see sooo much educational benefit! Stories are wonderful and paintings are easy, songs, downloading - all very thought through!!!! I also tried this app with 3 and 4 year old - absolutely wonderful!!! Price - like one book a month from the shop - defo worth it !!!!!.Version: 3.9.02
