✓ Doesn't save! Terrible controls.Iphone 6 owner. Terrible controls to the point where skill matters not. It's clear the designers realized this, which is why you start with literally 20 credits... Poor frame rate. When s$&# hits the fan, the gameplay is awful. Worst of all, no matter how far you get, if you quit the app you will have to start from the very beginning almost every time. Progress is NOT saved. That's ludicrous to me. So basically you have to set aside 2 hours of your day if you want to try to beat the game... Just plain stupid. I'd like my dollar back....Version: 1.0.1
✓ SNK needs to update. Game not working anymore!I grew up playing these games. I enjoy them but ever since the IOS 11 updates now these games don’t work anymore. I tried to go on the developers website and that was a waste of time. Biggest run around ever. I hoping that by writing this review maybe Apple can help reach out. ✓ Awful framerate on ipad air 2The frame rate goes to something like 5fps during large explosions and segments with the slug gattling guns making the game appear to run in slow motion. ✓ Great game ruined by poor controls.The fixed thumb stick location and poor controls really prevent this game being as good as it could be. Aiming and facing the right direction can be a struggle when things get a bit busy. Boxed 4:3 ratio I can live with for originality sake. Having the option to go full screen would be nice. ✓ Fun game, god-awful controlsPlease, for the love of god, fix the movement joystick. Make it bigger and make it where your character doesn't stop moving if you slide your finger off the lever when you're trying to run. ✓ All wrong.When I first found this game on iTunes, I was ecstatic, my childhood game that I used to play all the time was finally available to me through an app. But when I started to play it went downhill fast. First, it's not even optimized for the iPhone 6 so the game itself looks smaller, and second of all its extremely laggy for some reason. ✓ Can barely even play itI was very excited when I saw this ported to iOS. For me, It was a no brainier to get it immediately. This had nostalgic value to me, and was definitely worth it for the price. However I can't even play it; the lag and the controls are really poor. There is a 2-4 sec delay on anything I do. ✓ Bad d pad controlThe thing is, the control was fine when It first got out on my iPhone 5. Now the d pad position reset if the thumb go too far away from the predefined area. This really make the game very hard to control. (To get a feeling of how the d pad should behaved, test out the game robbery bob). The other review is wrong about the video aspect ratio. ✓ Upgrade the Controls!I just bought all the series of Metal Slug in my iTouch to have fun just as the fun I used to experience when I played it in my childhood, but the controls of these games are not easy to handle. ✓ Great games ruined by poor controlsThe tiny onscreen joypad is basically useless when things get heavy. Having the whole left side of the screen as a joypad would be infinitely better. ✓ Great Potential But Terrible ControlsListen to the reviews, they are correct on ALL metal slug games 1-X. The controls are terrible for this game. In easy mode this game functions, but there are critical levels that require simultaneous movement like diagonal shooting or jumping and shooting at the same time. The way touchscreen works on phones make it difficult to have 3 buttons pushed at the same time to execute this, limiting you to only 2 movements at a time. To top it off, each metal slug does not work with my rotor riot plug in controller. It works with every other game except this one, so I’m stuck with terrible controls and the lack of compatibility with one that could potentially fix this issue..Version: 1.3
