Slack for Positive User Reviews

Slide into my DMsUsing slack is easy, it’s convenient and I recommend it. The ONE thing that I wish were different is the DMs. I’m in THREE separate workspaces with overlapping members in the group. Sending a DM to one person in one workspace means not seeing the private message thread when sending a DM to the SAME person in another workspace. We have a workspace for the village in which our Burning Man camp lives to communicate with the village leads. We have a camp message to chat amongst us as camp members. Some of us in that camp are involved in an art project that includes other people. There’s no good way to keep up the DMs with the people who also are in my same workspaces across all the workspace. As you can imagine, DMs are usually OT and all over. This is the one thing that could use a tweek, IMO..Version: 19.11.10

Annoying interfaceSlack is a good product with the most annoying interface. When I'm in a different app such as viewing photos, if I swipe right to left with too much excitement, I open a sidebar which takes about 5 seconds to go away. I now just use the web interface.Version: 2.65

Great way to communicateI love this app but I can only access Slack through online courses and one membership site. I wish we used it where I work. It’s so easy to use, I can keep track of the conversations in the different channels and direct messages. I like being able to view the channels and then choose whether to join or start a channel and whether I get notifications. I like the status options so I can let people know when I am available. When I develop online courses I will use Slack for my community building app..Version: 20.08.30

Great app for personal & businessGreat app, had some issues initially but got resolved. It’s now working just like before. Love Slack and all the integrations it has with different software out there. Use it for personal and business, love it! Just please don’t fall behind. The problem with startups starts when they become a corporation with too many employees and lots of funding. They forget to innovate - so keep innovating guys, keep slack going. The 3.8* rating could easily be 4.5*.Version: 22.10.50

Awesome app !May take a while for people to appreciate and make the most of it, but once they do so, there’s no looking back!!!.Version: 3.50

Must have, even with its issuesThe app is well laid out, visually pleasing and convenient for team communication. It is aesthetically pleasing and is a must have for regular slack users on the desktop. However, it misses features from the desktop version. Such as team settings, display name changing. The mobile version also harbors the loading of older messages, and instead jumps to start displaying messages of the previous day. In practice, these hinderances are annoying but not unforgivable. The voice calling feature, in use, causes bugs with the rest of the text messaging. There is also a glitch which could occur during a voice call which prevents you from muting, ending or put the call on the speaker, and also stops you from returning to other messages until you restart the app. Running this app on slower or older devices is painful as the loading start to take impractical lengths of time to load..Version: 3.11

Quality chat app!Works swimmingly within the workplace.Version: 21.01.20

An amazing FREE workspace app.I never feel this like strong desire to write reviews but i am now- Slack is a wonderful group workspace app. A lot of the complaints seen are due to APPLE updating to ios16. Americans (and i am one) want things in an instant- slack has to adjust. That said, I've been using slack for about 3 years. I think a lot of reviews are ignoring the fact that it is FREE! You pay NOTHING to use this app, when all other apps cost at MINIMUM $100 depending on how many employees you have. All the complaints seen (to me) are glitches that just require in person communication. Companies shouldn’t be depending solely on slack- it’s a GREAT tool though. What reviews we see are called minor inconveniences. In the grand scheme of things. Slack is amazing, it’s even more amazing that businesses can DEPEND on slack FOR FREE to communicate with everyone from really anywhere. THAT SAID, all apps have issues. I have had good runs with slack and i have had issues just like every other app i have. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook etc included. Is it worth it for all the features you get? The various work spaces ? User interface ? Etc. ABSOLUTELY..Version: 22.11.40

A great modern tool to connect and communicateI use Slack more than I use most other apps and appreciate the hard work and attention to detail put in by the team there..Version: 22.03.10

Almost wonderfulBeen using Slack for years now— A powerful communication tool. However, it is not very intuitive for new users. It takes a little while for people to understand how to use it. But once they do, awesome! My biggest complaint is that notifications are not consistent and I end up missing things, especially across several workspaces and as the app syncs between several devices. It would be MOST helpful if slack would add a “most recent” tab at the top of the workspace (like with threads), so that we could go to one place and see all of the most recent activity, instead of having to scan every channel and DM for a possible message that was missed..Version: 21.09.11

Honestly amazingWork in a small team and find Slack so useful. Works so well and we always get work done!.Version: 22.06.10

UserSince the most recent update the reactions on messages are really hard to tap onto (to see who reacted). It seems the area for tapping has decreased or something. 90% of the time the message actions (start a thread etc) pop up rather than the actual list of users and their reactions.Version: 3.56

Cool networking appThe app is interesting to use and very easy to navigate so far. It works perfectly on my device so I have no current issues with it. It’s easy access and has a versatile design which is simple to use like any other networking app and doesn’t have too much clumping around on the app to make it confusing..Version: 22.05.10

Helpful but needs workEveryone at work uses it, I love the ability to snooze notifications, but uploading files often fails and if not, takes far too long. It would be good if the search feature was refined a little but overall it’s great!.Version: 3.43

Ruddy marvellousOur IT manager introduced this to our office a while ago and it’s totally changed the way we communicate across 5 offices. Hardly any internal emails, sett your notifications to reduce noise, see what you need to see! You can set up group channels like social, announcements etc, private channels with only certain staff included (like management) and other temporary ones for organising things like surprise birthday parties! Brilliant. Get it. Look at the help pages to get you set up. You won’t regret it. We use a paid version now for the company but the free one is great to get you started..Version: 3.34

Latest app version keeps crashing on iOS 14.2I’m currently unable to load the app for longer than 1 minute. I have refreshed cache and tried reinstalling a couple of times. Looking forward to the next release where hoping this is fixed 🤞.Version: 20.12.10

Great app butI’m not sure is this a copy of discord or are there just many apps like this?.Version: 22.03.10

Workplace CommunicationsI love slack. I started using slack in January for my job, as our communications channel, between team members. This app has never caused me any problems. It’s NEVER: crashed, logged me out unexpectedly, had any technical problems, deleted any of my channels, failed in posting, or any other problems. This app is reliable, always functioning, never disappoints with the reactions and features to customize for your job specific needs, and in all ways shapes and form been hands down 100% real time. I love how i can change my profile picture, name, workplace info, choose privacy and notification settings, can set myself as away, and all my notifications come in once I’m active, have a dark mode enabled (this saves my tired eyes first thing in the morning) and an all the way around fun place to communicate with others. I don’t leave many reviews, and this is one of the only ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ reviews I’ve left. Thank you for everything your team and developers have done to streamline our success. You’re amazing!.Version: 21.06.11

Great great appIt’s a great 5 and definitely helps at work when everyone works remotely and stay connected is key. The only thing I still struggle is how slowly pictures load!! In the world where we use screenshoot snd pictures to support messages having to wait serval seconds for a pic to load (opposite to a few seconds on other apps), makes it really annoying. Another thing which is also irritating is “unsent messages” only been notified after several minutes. If you haven’t got a good connection, at times slack makes you believe that the message is sent. Only to realise that this isn’t correct a few minutes( not really few), later!.Version: 20.12.10

There is no comparable business messaging platformBefore I used slack I said I don’t want to, I like WhatsApp and email. Then I started using it and I was immediately converted. No more disruptive notifications, no more mistakes that I then had to correct with 3 more messages, no more wondering if I responded, scrolling back through days of conversations, the list goes on. This makes conversations productive and efficient. It’s almost as effective as a phone conversation but far more tangible for when I inevitably forget what was discussed. If I could have a slack home and slack work I wouldn’t even bother with the other options..Version: 22.11.10

Keep doing what you're doingSlack does what it does well. Yes, there are a few edge cases where I could see a lottle more functionality. But nothing major is missing, and certainly not broken. This is one of the few apps that admits what it fixed in each update. For that I salute them! The Slack team is also responsive to bugs and queries. Every inquiry gets a response. Sometimes, things get fixed really fast, and the ones that don't seem very minor. (But "Hurray!” for more than one English dictionary.) I really appreciate separate Do Not Disturb settings across organisations — some days the traffic on the user groups interferes with my day job, and it's nice to just park those until later. I'm just now learning about integrations, and Slack makes them pretty easy..Version: 20.04.10

Going the extra mileThis app is satisfactory functional, but that's not why I'm writing this review. Rather, when it comes time to update the app, the staff at slack gives us information about what problems occurred that have been fixed. But, whoever writes said update descriptions deserves an employee of the month parking space, ideally close to the entrance of your business. The wit alone is fantastic, but this individual seemingly put a lot of put time into writing such update descriptions, writing several paragraphs for only ONE of the several jokes contained therein. Being amused where I didn't anticipate to be amused, the technical details of my phone. Thank you, unnamed slack employee(s), you've made this day even better..Version: 20.01.20

Best change log everWhen nearly all apps just write bug fixes and performance improvements on updates, slack always comes with very detailed and humorously written update logs. I would keep the app around just to read the change logs even if it wasn't one of the best communication apps..Version: 21.10.20

Please fix for iPhone 12Text Squeezed at the top can’t see the icon of the space and name of the space. Can’t copy and paste or select. Very annoying especially if I want to edit something I have to delete everything! Would appreciate a fix iOS 14.2.1. Otherwise good app keeps up the great work. EDIT: received a reply after posting the above. It seems to be a known issue. I didn’t get any reply from Apple or WhatsApp. Keep up the fabulous customer service and customer centric culture. #thisisagile.Version: 20.11.21

Black screen, slow to load, slow to accept textUpdate: app works absolutely perfectly for me now. All the issues below were resolved. Thanks to the developer for responding! -------- I need this app, but it is painful to use. So painful. I'm on an iPhone 7+ - a fast phone running iOS 11. But every time I load it, even if it was used a few minutes before, it is painfully slow. So slow in fact that you can often see letters being stuck "pressed down" as I type. Often I have to wait 9-10 seconds for typed text to appear. And then there's the black screens. I get a notification, I tap on it, Slack opens.... and the app screen is completely black. There's nothing I can do except kill the app and restart it. Honestly if I didn't have to use it, I would remove it. It's just so bad trying to use it every day..Version: 3.39

Couldn't manage my team without Slack. Email threads? No thanksBest for managing inter department company communications. New hires can take advantage of the awesome search tool. Makes my job so much more efficient. Not for everyone, but no doubt about it... couldn't manage as I do with Slack by using email. I only use iOS when on the go... but a tip for some who might have missed it, you need to manage the settings on the desktop app for how/when/what notifications you receive on your phone. Use desktop settings for when/what to push to iOS app as far as notifications. You may still find issues, but thats where you wanna start..Version: 21.08.20

AwesomeEasy to use and great alternative to other platforms. Can control a lot of things customisable by the user and the “channels” are awesome..Version: 3.58

Great toolWe use in our small law office. We had to write some of our own "best practice rules" (like phone message channels only get phone messages, no gifs in general, snooze when you aren't answering) but it's been a great tool for our office. Easy way to be sure you're keeping up with your team without getting in to email all the time. We love it because if person a has a question for person b, a send the question and b gets to answer when they have the time in their day. Minimize interruptions while also allowing the person with a question to say it when they're thinking about it. We love slack. It's AOL instant messenger for professionals. I do wish it was easier to upload images etc without the comments being a weird title..Version: 3.28

Awesome. Nice app integration. Easy to useAwesome. Nice app integration. Easy to use.Version: 20.11.20

Instant messaging made easyGroup chat and one to one instant messaging with intelligence. Slack makes it easy and does more on top, like helping you organise your life and reminding you to get things done. It's also a notepad and integrates with so many other apps that everything blends together....Version: 3.13

Very productiveHad never heard of Slack before until someone at work introduced it as a single method of communication between multiple companies. Previously we were bogged down with hundreds of emails and trying to use WhatsApp, as we all work for different companies so have no common method of communicating. If you’ve ever used Discord it works very much the same way - can create rooms within your lobby, send attachments etc. Would recommend it to anyone who needs to manage any number of people across various locations.Version: 3.48

The best collaboration tool everI have been using many applications for instant chat & other functions. However, nothing can compete Slack. Not sure where to start from about saying great things about it but overall, this is my favourite application in my organisation. It consumes very less memory on phone, yet the performance is absolutely amazing. No matter where I am, as long as there is internet connection - I am all set. File/screen sharing, audio/video calls & the best part gifs! It’s extreme fun to use Slack due to gifs. Thanks a million to the Slack team for constantly working & making it better everyday..Version: 3.57

The best of everythingAmazing for working on group projects. Users can be in teams and just watch, or interact within the group. Can also link with drive it’s ideal for school teams or groups. Love that it’s a cross platform app, with notifications. A+.Version: 3.57

App no longer on Apple WatchAfter the last update Slack was removed from Apple Watch. I think that’s a shame. As an instant communication and collaboration tool Slack is great. I understand that I can still respond to Slack notifications on the Watch, but it would be great to initiate a message via the Watch or respond to a message after the notification had disappeared. Possible using voice to text? Maybe one for the future developement roadmap?.Version: 3.36

Love it - but where’s Dark Mode?I’ve been using this app for several years now. I regularly communicate with colleagues, but one thing that’s been annoying me to hell. Is the blatant lack of dark mode... being on-call or being pinged late at night or very early in the morning is a killer, especially when you open the app, it’s just like “TIME TO BLIND YOU” at 3am. I’d give this application five stars if it wasn’t lacking that, yes it’s somewhat minor but for an avid user in an organisation of thousands of employees it’s a killer per the aforementioned..Version: 3.57

Perfect for teamsWe use slack everyday for our creative business. Mobile app is very useful..Version: 3.52

Very productive and versatileAre you slack in several businesses and it works brilliantly! It allows me to create different channels which function like separate conversations. It is replaced WhatsApp and provided us with many more features!.Version: 20.01.10

Well executed and essential. Thank you slack!I've used Slack for work for the last 2 years and have had the iOS app installed since then. My only frustration with the app is when I appear to have unread messages that I have already read on the desktop app at least 5 minutes earlier. This can be tedious and is frustrating when trying to keep up to date on incoming messages. Otherwise, the slack iOS app is amazing and a very helpful companion to the desktop client. Despite my frustration with the notifications, I have given this app a full 5-star rating. My reasoning is that overall, Slack can be considered an excellent and well executed app that has become essential in my day to day work life. Thank you to the team at Slack for all your hard work!.Version: 3.10

Nice app for the free time andSorry for not working with the app I was able I have to get it to work and get it to you go back you can see the new update on it thanks for it thank me thanks for your help thanks for your time thanks for your message.Version: 19.2.2

Transformed our internal comms.Slick to use, great add ons. Keeps us in easy contact with our 50 staff..Version: 20.06.20

Getting a postgraduate research team into 21st centuryBeen looking for a way to logically connect research teams, support groups an supervisors for a while. Slack is it. Fun, easy interface and all the sharing features we need. Using the print bot is great and integration with /zeen-video-and-voice-conferencing-for-everyone means we can quickly meet in persistent rooms that are linked to group channels. This is what comms must be like!.Version: 3.23.1

Great overall on iOS12 but has some rough edgesGreat to see grouped notifications now being supported however it would be nice to see the clock when using the app on my iPad. Currently the clock is in dark text on a already dark background from the side navigation pane..Version: 3.53

Do not disturbWould be nice if Slack can detect I’m driving and be able to change my Status accordingly..Version: 3.28

Solid Messaging AppFar superior to other options like Google Hangouts. Great for all types of group communications. Frequent updates and new features are much appreciated. There are bugs and other issues that come up, but it's a great app all the same..Version: 3.28

Two timesWhy am I having two times the app on my iPhone since the last Slack update?.Version: 23.11.30

Best Team Communication ApplicationSlack is by far the best team communication application ever made. After migrating our team from using Skype to Slack, we've increased productivity 10-fold! Would recommend to anyone who's looking for a platform to communicate with a team..Version: 3.1.2

Project Manager at Electronic ArtsHi, I use slack constantly, along with 10,000+ other gaming employees and I think we can all agree that Scheduled Messages in THREADS is a need!!!!! Can we please get this implemented? Thanks!.Version: 23.11.30

Part of a group, but no slack, stop and get itSeriously, it sounds like I own it, but I’m just a user. Caveat, I’m not an “at work” user, but I’m an avid user and part of 7 active groups, largest having 2000 members, give or take. I’m not saying it’s the best, but it is the one I know, and haven’t found myself wishing it Qs better, and it improved my life by a ton. So, that’s it for any group of people organized around any mission or for any reason, from a club, to a political cause. And even to stay in touch with friends abroad, whatever. It will be useful, at no cost on any level (not Facebook “free”) it’s a great tool for people to operate and communicate in a democratic way and keep it all together... this WILL be of value to all..Version: 20.10.20

Looks goodOn the iPhone X.Version: 3.34

GreatApp is fine to use on the 7 Plus, though me trying to connect to my slack workspaces form New Zealand takes ages.. I beg you please add a dark theme or something that’s easy on the eyes, especially in low light situations / night time..Version: 3.34

So great!Easily my favourite communication app. I keep adding teams and introducing the app to friends and colleagues. Just brilliant. *came to write a review and discovered I already have. Still and incredibly versatile and excellent app.*.Version: 22.09.30

Makes our family work so much betterWe are using slack to coordinate disability supports for my son. I feel connected to his life from a distance because of the systems we’ve put in place. Couldn’t do without it!!.Version: 19.08.10

NiceMake a channel unread please, otherwise great app..Version: 19.5.1

Works well, never a problemI’ve never had a problem with the mobile version of Slack. Very happy. Though I wish I could choose my emoticon style like before. I don’t like that they’re forcing users to have their system version.Version: 3.47

Becoming my go to comm app...First, my rant (feel free to skip): I was not pleased when Microsoft purchased Skype, and my fears were increasingly justified as I saw version release after version release further thrash GUI conventions (if Microsoft made light switches, down would turn the light on and up would turn it off...). Finally, the family decided to stop using Skype for our domestic and international communications needs. We switched to Slack... Second, my review: It took some getting used to, but Slack is now our family communication hub... we’ve got channels for making travel plans, sharing recipes, and even communicating while playing Minecraft (yes, I know, Microsoft...). Slack has not only replaced Skype, but is quickly replacing our need to use generic texting and e-mail. I’m still very fond of Discord, but who knows...!? I highly recommend slack. Delve into it. Learn it well, and perhaps you too will adopt it as your one comm app to rule them all! 5-stars. Hands down. Slack people: promise me you’ll never sell this to Microsoft when Team simply doesn’t grab enough market share, and they come knocking. Pretty please....Version: 3.47

TeamingWith a remotely located team it is difficult to have the normal interactions you have when sat together. Slack provides the functionality to make you 'feel' as if you're in the same room. Group or 'general' chats work well for those 'who can' or 'where does' type questions/things and individual or smaller discussions(CIA threads) are great for more focussed chats. Get into it, get used to it, it can work for you - I love it!.Version: 3.57

BugRecently I found a bug that I got every notification after 3-5 minutes that had been posted or sent on my DM. It could be fixed in the next update. Anyway, I love to use Slack. Nothing can't bet it..Version: 23.11.20

Great update changelogs (!)It’s almost worth keeping around solely for the informative, interesting and frequently amusing update changelogs. A great example of how they should be done, unlike other companies which will keep posting new minor updates under the last major-ish changelog message - or the useless “bug fixes and performance improvements“ message. Thanks Slack app team for brightening my day with these!.Version: 3.34

Multiple Photo uploadGreat app. Need to be able to select multiple photos to upload. As builders we use the app to keep track of progress and diarise activity. We take photos on each of our sites when inspecting and upload to slack, currently one at a time which is slow..Version: 3.54

Couldn’t live without itI absolutely love everything there is about Slack!!! It has allowed our team to massively improve our communication so no one misses any important information and I love the /remind function that reminds me of things in the near and distant future. Thanks so much to the amazing team who created it..Version: 3.58

Great for family with teensWe’ve been using this at home for at least a couple of years now and it is great. Teens like to stay in their rooms doing their own thing and using slack means they are not completely isolated. We have channels for interests, schoolwork assistance, activities coordination and we even always get presents right with a wishlist channel..Version: 3.48

FantasticBeen looking for a slick professional system to use for communication and interaction with my adult students and here I am testing it. So far have 9 channels (one per class) and 10-25 users per channel and everyone seems to love slack. I particularly like the fact that it works on emails rather than mobile numbers so that I don’t have any lecturer- student issues. Great job. I think this free tier is fantastic for education and could be used as a marketing and adoption method to entice the students employers to adopt the paid tiers. Thank you Slack team..Version: 3.31

GoodEffective!!.Version: 3.51

A disappointing UXSlack is generally a good piece of software however the mobile UX leaves a lot to be desired. Every page has two different search bars with different functions, the search bar functions differently to the desktop app. 9/10 I just want to message a person, so I open the app I hit the nearest search bar and you guessed it. Nada. Or examples of other people saying their name. Jesus. So you fumble around scrolling oh yeah it’s in the random bottom tabs if you click DMs. You go to DMs and click the “Search” icon. Nope... oh of course! Jump to! Finally, except now I’m so mad at how simple this should be and how badly it’s been designed that instead I write this review..Version: 20.10.20

The New Logo is About to Give Me a BreakdownI love Slack but I think I’m about to have a breakdown. I’m not good with visual changes and I feel somewhat betrayed haha. Anyway, guess just have to start getting used to it. Thanks for the amazing work though (other than the new logo). 😢.Version: 3.60

Amazing communication toolThis program has made our work life so much easier. Everyone in our team works remotely and we need to be able to share ideas and files collaboratively and quickly. Slack allows you to message people directly yet the whole team can see in case they can add anything, just like working in an office and overhearing someone you can help. The file sharing ability and app integrations are amazing. Highly recommended.Version: 3.48

Best Messaging App EverSimple, Serves most use cases, Easy to integrate, Easy UI, Setting rules handles most cases, Best user experience!! Provides ease of being connected to professional and social groups without much of a hassle..Version: 21.04.20

Duplicate sectionsOverall I adore the app (and the release notes) but I have a serious issue with the duplicated sections, e.g I have two Starred sections for some reason, and Mentions has its own section on the app but not on the mac app. It means that I’m missing messages (which is not ideal for a work communications tool) and it’s also hard to find channels by having to trawl through each section..Version: 23.03.40

What a game changerIt’s like Live Journal and twitter had a really, really good looking and functional baby..Version: 3.45.1

Amazing features but needs some tweakingThere are new features added all the time, but one of my biggest issues right now is the /reminder program. You can only set it for an specific hour not a specific minute. Because so many companies use this there are times and reasons we need to be able to schedule something for a specific minute. I cannot utilize this feature as of right now because I need to be reminded to do things prior to shift change. This would also be great if you could auto schedule to send messages as a specific minute as well. This app is a must if you work from home. So many wonderful features that help you feel “connected” to your coworkers..Version: 23.01.10

Slack does exactly what it says!Slack does exactly what it says it does! I have no issues with it at all! Just want to advise the developers; on my 11” iPad Pro the app crashes when attempting to archive a channel. I have since been able to accomplish the task using my iPhone XS, so not a big deal, but just a heads up. Great work, thanks for the platform!!.Version: 20.03.10

Really useful but have to manually check itWe’re using this app for our work conversations to keep up to date with our constantly flowing information Highway. The access it grants to have multiple channels for specific areas is great! That being said not having push notifications has been hard for most colleagues who don’t regularly check or forget to check the app. A few missed opportunities and critical information missed. Would love to see notification aspect adding in for an even better performance!.Version: 23.04.20

The saving grace for my teamLet me start off my immediately mentioning how great the staff and technical support for Slack are.. totally willing to help in any way, you are never left with unanswered questions! The platform is EVERYTHING! I primarily wanted to use the Slack platform to get my team on the same page (sort to speak), but then noticed how my team started showing each other process pieces and ‘how-to’s.. essentially they were teaching themselves! This built confidence and camaraderie which gives the team a feeling of family during a time we can’t work together. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Slack. It caters to all levels of tech abilities, super simple and savvy!!.Version: 20.08.30

A great appA great app, for sure. A suggestion… Could you date stamp emojis? It would be a good feature to know when someone added an emoji to messages. Thank you..Version: 22.11.31

Changed the way we professionally communicateLoving this app before our employees and partners used to send messages to each other though different platforms but after moving all the work conversations to Slack life is changed in a good way. Highly Recommended..Version: 22.03.10

Would be better if multiple photos could be shared :)Great app, the only negative is the inability to select several photos at once for sending.Version: 3.44

Works great, imagines notification numbers sometimesI’m on a couple of very active instances and the app seems to frequently show a (1) or (2) when I know for sure there are no notifications outstanding..Version: 22.10.20

Always great and always getting better!Been using slack since the beta before it was released and have found it has had massive improvements in how we connect at work. So friendly, well considered, well designed and well built. I see slack as one of the benchmarks of how apps should be built. For people. Well done folks!.Version: 3.35

Active/away doesn’t workUpdated Review: Dev team responded and the newest version does include a fix for the active/away bug. Updated rating; however, Dev team should test builds before rolling out to the public especially for important features such as your presence status. Original Review: Switching between active and away no longer works since the last release. When the selection is chosen it just highlights it but doesn’t change the status. Force closing the app and immediately changing the status works only sometimes. I’ve already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and the problem still persists. Based upon the reviews in the App Store it appears that this problem is not isolated to me. Hopefully the dev team can fix in the next release.Version: 21.03.10

Fantastic and constantly gaining parity with desktop. Auto dark mode?I spend a lot of time for work and beta testing apps in Slack. It’s nice to have access everywhere. Except when notifications constantly go off no iPhone+iPad+Mac LOL! Love the new Dark Mode but why not allow auto switch on screen brightness that is becoming the norm now?.Version: 19.3.1

Love this app!Since switching to slack we’ve all but removed long email threads, removed blockages with getting information to the right people and we’re getting more done. Do yourself a favor, ditch email and get this app..Version: 20.09.10

Great mobile app with intuitive functionalityThis app is pretty awesome for on the go use. I like that the app has not lost hardly any functionality from the desktop version and has even added a few cool features. For example the ability to swipe on the contacts list to bring up previous conversations is really cool and intuitive. I do agree with other users that it is entirely time consuming and has led to me having almost no time for other work. I would not say it has increase my productivity. That’s not really Slack’s fault, though. I just turn it completely off any time I want to do actual work..Version: 3.54

Best messaging app for teams period.Nothing beats slack for small business and team communication..Version: 3.29

So far, so good, some issues thoughSo far, this app hasn’t done anything bad per se. It gets the job done, just a basic app for work. However, I wish you could choose what kind of messages will send you a notification. If you just downloaded this app, be wary about notifications. From what I know, Slack only notifies you if you/the channel is tagged/mentioned, so anything else sent in the channels you will not receive a notification for, which is kind of annoying. For example, when I or someone else has a question, that does not need the whole channels attention, but is not directed at a specific person, no one will be notified of the message. Which means that it can take a while for someone to get back to you..Version: 20.07.20

Top NotchPerfect accessory for keeping everyone connected..Version: 20.07.10

Awesome App!!So awesome!! It’d be better though is Slack didn’t auto delete messages and hide them behind a paywall and would also be better if we had the ability to edit/delete messages a regardless of how much time has passed and free video/voice chat. If you don’t wanna spend money on video/voice chat or Spence money getting extra storage of messages, just use discord. It’s basically the same thing with a few slight differences like direct responses to a single text but like each text is a post and the replies could be comments on that message, for example. Again awesome app, loving the new dark mode and businesses, this app is perfect for you!!.Version: 19.3.1

People need to communicate. The approach for this app to our business is well placed. All staff use it on a day to day basis to bridge the gap in 1 to 1 personal chat and group chat. Learning is easy and we had 100% uptake on deployment..Version: 3.38

Siri ShortcutsWould really like to see some Siri shortcut integrations so I can automate some responses outside of Slack bots..Version: 20.07.20

Slackin the Night AwayHave been using Slack for a little while now having been introduced to it via my colleagues at work. It’s definitely helped support and managed communication relating to several projects at anyone time. Slack had also been helpful to share documents/ manuscripts and presentations instantly; utilising has allowed smoother working overall. Would recommend to anyone who looks to manage or is involved in team organising etc..Version: 3.34

Love it!I loved this app. After the last update I can’t send files from my Dropbox any more at all. However, I left a message about the issue and within 24hours the Dropbox interface was working again. For communication with my international team and sharing files, it’s brilliant..Version: 3.30

IRC modernizedAll the best parts of IRC and then some. Cross-platform goodness and loads of features. Slack is the future of collaboration and communication within communities..Version: 3.37
