✓ Great except....I just started using the app and I really really like it except I wish it would announce the upcoming turns sooner. Shortly after I wrote this review I received a response from the company which was totally unexpected. ✓ Good app, but lacks fearuresI really think this is a good app. It also is a very good idea. Navigation is helpful, it's nice to get personalized routes based on the bikes you haver. I just think this app would be even better if it could track statistics of how many miles/kilometres you go, etc. Sadly, location services don't work too well, me recording a route looks totally different than the one I really drive. Also, I can't follow people like the video indicates, and the interface in the above photos are different than mine. All in all, this is a great app, sadly lacks some features and needs better location services. [UPDATE] I hear a new version of this app will be released soon, I'm very excited for that. I also contacted support, I really recommend them, they are very nice and helpful..Version: 10.11.1
✓ Best BikeNav I’ve seen, but no family sharingThis app has the best and easiest bike navigating I’ve seen so far in like 6 different apps. However, I abhor monthly fees for simple apps. And if I’m forced to pay monthly, I at least want to be able to share access with my iCloud family, so my wife and I can both have navigation on our phones so it doesn’t matter who takes the lead..Version: 28.1.0

✓ Perfect for a scared first timerI’m scared of cycling on the roads because cars are huge horrifying death machines!! This app guided me through cycle lanes and quiet streets the entire way to work. ✓ Best in class.One of the best mapping app. Just wondering can it recalculate route on the fly ? Because listening to “continue” for about 10 minutes is a bit annoying if you get of track. Another thing I’d like to improve is to have ability to change language for voice commands. I live in UK, but listening to names of streets in foreign language is terrible. So the app could stay in polish but I’d like to have English as voice. Otherwise great and thank you for the app. I discovered many cycling routes I didn’t know about..Version: 16.0.1
✓ A useful app!Like the app very much. Great routes recommended and used whilst cycling in the UK’s SW this week - avoiding dangerous busy roads which we had been led too by other route planners! The options for balanced routes versus distance or speed are a useful and appreciated function too. If the zoomed mapping could be improved in future i would rate 5 stars....sadly at key points on our journey we took some wrong turns as the mapping did not automatically zoom to show sufficient detail... ended up having to do manually each time but not always easy when rolling fast downhill! ✓ AWESOME!Using Bikemap to cycle from Cape Sata in southern Japan to Cape Soya in the most northerly point. 3,000km. We have seen some amazing things we would never have seen due to bikemap taking us off main roads. It’s allowed us to plan and execute the whole thing over the last 20 days. Thank you Bikemap! ✓ Great GPS feature.What I love about the app is the turn by turn directions. Not even Strava offers that which is why I was turned onto Bike Map. However, I do like the “profile” feature in Strava. Gives a lot more information such as Miles ridden this week, month Etc also sows You to set goals for yourself and how many miles are remaining. That added feature would be great! Lastly (just thought of it) when I’m riding if I pause a ride the timer resets! Why? I wanna keep track of the entire journey. Please keep the timer continuos. Thank you!.Version: 11.0.0

✓ Fantastic start, needs to show maps on the WatchThis app has great potential but is lacking a few features to justify the pro subscription. > Leverage the full potential of the Apple Watch, especially the Ultra, by allowing us to save our itenary on a map that shows on the watch. Many apps like Workoutdoors allow great navigation from the watch, and I want to be able to quickly view where I am without taking my phone out while on the bike. > Failing that, it would be great as paying option to be able to export to .gpx to use on another mapping app. Having said that, it's great to see developers offer cyclists some very promising apps!.Version: 28.3.0

✓ AlmostI want to give this a 5 star but there are two fundamentals that need fixing. Apple Watch app - it doesn’t count calories and isn’t ‘live’. For example when I tilt my wrist to see the data it takes 2 seconds to refresh and show me distance/time. You cannot plan rides because you cannot change starting locations. Everything else is amazing and hands down the best navigation out there..Version: 10.11.1
✓ Does not work with free account?Try to used the app with my free account and after a beautiful ride of 3 hours the app does not save anything on the activity history after showing the trip summary and then buffff, all info gone. Just wasted my ride leaving me zero info after. Don’t tell me I don’t know how to use it, found better apps out there and much more reliable..Version: 18.1.0

Although the route is well marked this worked very well as my backup and for navigating in and out of cities and towns. It was perfect and I strongly recommend the use of the pro version. ✓ Love it but I wish for one thingI love this app. It tracks my bike rides and lets me know my average speed, time, route, etc. Though, the only thing I wish it did is to allow me to create my own planned routes using the trails I know I love, instead it’s just like a bike google maps -which isn’t bad, I just want more I guess..Version: 10.14.1

I live in Australia, where the summer sun is murderously strong… an ability to plan a shaded route would be fantastic, just don’t know how it could be done. ✓ BrilliantThis is the only app that I trialled that let me actually use it immediately without having to register or purchase or any other messing about. Brilliant! It’s the only app I trialled that didn’t require me to investigate buttons and me yes to suss it out: it is super obvious: just phd. ( press here dummy). Oh look there’s a button- I’ll press it - and you’re off on your ride! Brilliant! Then when your been out for a thrash and now have time to sit down and investigate your times and distance and stuff that the wee app does it’s super easy and doesn’t require excess menu hunting. Brilliant For the above reasons it is the app I will seriously consider paying for at some point. As it stands the others failed at the first look as I couldn’t use them immediately, pronto and stat! ✓ Gives OK, but not the best routesI'm using this app with my bike and scooter to get around urban streets here in Orange County, CA. I compare the routes to Google Maps with bike routing, and find that BikeMap favors side streets, but does not seem to know bike paths and roads with bike lanes. Often Google Map gives better routes. Also the underlying map is out of date as it shows business which has closed. Google Maps is more up to date. I suggest the app allow waypoints to be set by touching the map, to force a route I know is better. With its faults I give it 4 stars because there is such a need for bicycle routes and the app does make an attempt..Version: 12.0.1

✓ Absolutely brilliant!Have used this app non stop the last few weeks to get out and about cycling. So easy to use - best app there is for finding cycle paths or smaller safer roads. Really like planning routes too and being able to save them and use whenever. Not sure what the issue is with making an account, I find it useful to see the rides I’ve done and the rides I plan to do. I’m only using the free version too so for all the information I get FOR FREE it’s fantastic. ✓ Bikemap beginnerBike map chooses the least travelled, least trafficked roads if that’s what you choose, and as a result they are great country roads often with little traffic and nice scenery - perfect for touring. My experience is Bikemap chooses ar better routes for touring bicycles than Garmin who assumes everyone is in training and wants the fastest route which means encountering impatient volumes of traffic. Bikemap sometimes is very sensitive though and switches off early and there appears no obvious way to resume the cycle trip! But over all it knows it’s routes. Being bright blue though the can be hard to see in the sunshine or with blue tinted cycle glasses. Also it be hard at times to work out which way to go when the map doesn’t update quickly enough ( I think due to tall buildings or out of satellite range) and the direction sometimes spins while it works things out!.Version: 10.12.0

✓ Great App - Still some bugs 🐜The app is still showing my rides under “My Activity” 3 days ahead. (Sunday shows Wednesday; Monday shows Thursday and Tuesday shows Friday) The map sometimes freezes up where it does not keep up with my location and does not record my speed. ✓ Tour De FranceFor nine years we have cycled the Tour De France start to finish unsupported. Google, Garmin, Strava and loads more have failed in some way or other. This year we cycled Bilbao to Paris using Bikemap. We don’t preplan, we just headed for Paris and Bikemap did the rest. Awesome routes, off the main road if we wanted. No logging roads, dirt tracks or motorways. Love this app and it deserves a genuine review. If that ain’t a test then who knows what is. Thanks for pause mode when we do 8 to 10 hours on bikes.
