✓ Good but flawedThis game is fun, but there are some issues that prevent replay value. -Uniforms cost wayyyyy too much. I’ve been playing this game for a while and never gotten close to unlocking a uniform and frankly don’t really care about them. There are just too many of them that cost too much, and opening a pack of cards just to get a bunch of uniforms that you aren’t gonna get close to unlocking is annoying. - Equipment is sooo hard to unlock. Again, I’ve been playing the game a while now, and I’ve unlocked maybe a single bat. Instead of equipment cards, I just get a bunch of uniform cards!! - it should be possible to level up a player by playing with them a bunch instead of just waiting to get more of their cards. I think unlocking a legendary player would be cool, but unless you happen to get a bunch more of their cards (unlikely) they will always have mediocre stats. Players should level up from you playing well with them. - having even a little control over which players/equipment you unlock would go a long way. It’s too random now. I could get two gold packs of cards and come away empty handed, and the odds of getting enough cards of one of the players I really want seem almost impossible, which makes me want to stop playing. Fun game overall though! I kinda like the system of watching ads optionally to get more cards/coins..Version: 8.2.0

✓ Update steals all equipment.So I just updated 31 March 2017 and my players equipment list, which was pretty decent, has been reset to zero. I struggled on for a bit until I realised I could go into the equipment store and add my best bat etc. Still a great game a couple of years on. New pitches very expensive. Edit following update 2 (April 8th): after poor first update this now runs ok. A bit space hungry now (650 Meg) so not sure it will stay on my iPad and I miss the commentator's excitable voice, but at least the devs got right onto the problem. Initial review: As a UK citizen I naturally know next to nothing about baseball but in anticipation of a trip to Boston later this year I thought I'd see what this was about before visiting the Red Sox. Although this is just about scoring home runs (the clue is in the name) and no tactics need to be understood it is a game about timing. As someone else said, it is surprisingly satisfying to hit a home run but does require some patience before you make that first proper hit. Keep at it - and you don't need to spend any real money unless you want to support the devs (Ford Motors look like they may be sponsoring this - no problem with that)..Version: 5.0.1

✓ How the pitcher lost his grooveThis game is fun, but it can be so frustrating that I am loosing interest. In the multi-player home run derby the pitcher grooves the first 10 or 11 pitches and then all of a sudden he turns into Matt Chapman’s dad and starts throwing fade away hooks and can barely hit the inside part of the strike zone. If you want to make it challenging by moving the ball around the zone that is fine, but then don’t trick me into thinking I am doing well by grooving the early pitches. Why is it that the balls I hit to the opposite field go further than the hits that I pull. Hitting does not work that way..Version: 7.1.1

✓ Easy EnoughYou need to add a “charge the mound” option because any derby pitcher that throws that kind of garbage would get their nose busted open. The game is easy enough: rope dingers, get coins. But should you end up on any kind of streak, the pitcher throws pitches that defy physical ability. How you can get a pitch to slide, curve, screw and fork... all in one, is baffling. Get to 12 homers and you’ll see that magic, unhittable pitch. Good luck making contact, much less hitting the cheap seats. In other baseball fantasy news, I hit a 900ft bomb with Bryce. I watched it bounce into the parking lot. Tell me that wouldn’t demand a test for PED before even getting back to the dugout! The games begs for money quite a bit too. Hope you can be comfy in Dodgers Stadium because that’s all you get unless you want to plunk down 3-5 bucks per park. You should allow coins and bucks to be used to buy new parks. I’d probably go 5 stars if it weren’t for the obvious pitching cheat. Thanks for letting the unlimited coins/bucks/equips go on for this long..Version: 8.3.3

✓ 4 StarsThis is a great game with the potential to be 5 stars. I love the new addition of the season pass, it helps me unlock more so I can unlock or upgrade something. I love the small things you add in this game, such as the batting stance that you added. I love how you add limited edition players as well. The problems I have with this game is that there are some bugs that still need to be fixed. Also I wish I could press the limited edition player and just buy the exact amount of cash so I could buy it. Other than that this is a pretty good game and it keeps me entertained. ✓ Make stadiums unlockableThe gameplay is pretty fun. It’s a game where you mindlessly smack a few home runs. I have no interest in multiplayer games, and there’s no challenge in playing the derby. I thought it would get harder as you progressed but it doesn’t. It’s just a way to grind and get mlbucks. Wish that could be more of a challenge. I also don’t understand why the stadiums have to be purchased with real money. There’s no way to unlock them with cards or ads or anything, unless I’m missing something. Paying $5 / stadium is crazy no matter how much you want to get a change in scenery. There are also challenges focused around specific stadiums so unless you shell out real cash, you can’t even complete them. Seems kind of dumb..Version: 8.2.1

Despite having enough mlb bucks to unlock several 2021 all-star uniforms, eg. Yankees, Pirates, Diamondbacks, Cardinals, Giants, Mariners, etc., the uniforms are not available for several unlocked players who where in fact 2021 all stars. Because of that, we keep getting packs of useless all-star uniform cards as the relating uniforms remain inaccessible to unlock. Not a big deal, but mildly annoying..Version: 9.2.3

✓ Retiring with Legend statusI played this game probably every day for almost two years and got to the end (level 100) a little while back. Other than the basic glitches, my only issue is once you Max out a player (after level 14) or equipment (after level 10), they keep giving you cards for these items. Now probably 80-90 percent of the cards I get in most packs are useless. It’s nice they try to add new players to keep you interested but stop giving cards on something when it’s Max’d out! I sent the person all the information they requested from me and they still haven’t responded to that follow-up. The app itself is awesome and fun this one star is strictly based on customer service. Would’ve put 5 stars except for a couple of really annoying things: If you’re playing head to head and your opponent has network problem, you lose your boosts without a pitch being thrown. ✓ Game is great! Few suggestionsLove this game! Perfect to play in the down time. It’s pretty easy to level up and get better players, just involves a little waiting. I did have a few suggestions though. When you acquire more power or have a stronger batter, the only thing that changes with actual home runs is the distance number, you don’t actually see the ball fly further. I’d like to see the home run actually go further, seeing the only number change gets kind of old after a while. A few additions to the game I’d like you to consider please. 1. Classic stadiums: Ebbets Field, Old Yankee Stadium, the Astrodome, etc. 2. Please add Ken Griffey Jr. With so many different players including HOFers and legends, I am so surprised that Junior is not in the game!
