Absolutely Amazing! This game is one of my top favourites on the App Store. Having recently completed it I am absolutely chuffed and cannot wait to get the second instalment. A great choose-your-own-adventure game that is an absolute piece of art. The storytelling is in incredible detail, the art style beautiful in a way that it suits the game, the battles exciting and often unpredictable and the amount of spells in this game make you want to collect every item needed. Worth the money in every way. Good job inkle, you just got yourself a dedicated customer..Version: 1.4.3

Loved itI've had my eye on this series for a long time but could never justify the high price. Now that chapter 1 is free I must say this game is rich in story, variety, and gameplay. I still cannot justify paying $5 per chapter to continue on with the story, but know that the sequels will be amazing nevertheless..Version: 1.6.1

Worth the money!!!This is one of the best games on my phone!! Well worth the time and money to play this game!! I can't wait to play the second one!!.Version: 1.4.1

Great game!An amazing game! The only thing is it could be longer!.Version: 1.4.3

Delight! This game brought back some nostalgia. Really fun! IOS is a great platform form this kind of entertainment, much better than the old book versions. Great job Inkle!.Version: 1.4

I enjoyed thisThe magic system was neat. Good art and storytelling.Version: 1.6.1

AmazingI absolutely loved this game. Its engaging plot line and brilliant gameplay provided a stunning experience. There are so many different options that allow lots of replays. It’s hard enough to be challenging but not frustrating. Trust me the money is definitely worth it..Version: 1.6.1

Unique and amazingly nostalgicSorcery does a great service to choose your own text adventures and is easily the best of it's kind. The combat is brilliantly simple and reading paragraphs based on your combat choices is extremely satisfying. I'm off to buy the second!.Version: 1.4.1

Great workAh this takes me back. The 3d map is a great touch and the combat is just interesting enough.Version: 1.1

ContextThis game is worth the $5 and here is why. It is unique, has an interesting battle strategy, the different paths that can be taken are limitless which adds to the replay value. This game directly connects to the Sorcery 2! Game allowing for more possibilities, and overall a longer journey. Simply put, this is one of the best games on the market when played with the second continuation giving one of the best replay values this market has to offer..Version: 1.4.3

Amazing! One of the best game I’ve ever played on IOS!.Version: 1.6.1

Amazing!Ignore the people who seem to have forgotten what constitutes 'value for money' (e.g hagenees 2001's review) this is a faithful recreation of the book with modern gaming elements seamlessly embedded in. An intuitive and tactical combat which puts the fun back into die based fighting, a 3d map done in an illustrative pallet and all the original artwork compared with brilliantly fitting music; this builds upon the original book and displays what interactive story telling can be with the right devs behind it. Not to mention the replayability you can find in all of the branching alternative paths. If you can't spare a couple of quid for good writing, care to the source material and supporting innovative developers then you should stick to angry birds and temple run. (Seriously ignore my angry review and just buy it :) ).Version: 1.1

A brilliant gameAs the first part of a 4 part game, this is a great start, so go in with your eyes open, to get the full experience you'll need to eventually get the lot. I got this game as part of a bundle so the price was at the right level for me. The story is old school fantasy in the best way. The art that goes with the text is great and really helps bring the story to life. The combat is simple but challenging. The story can be finished quickly, but has lots of replays especially as the choices you make in this game go on to influence the story in the second part of this series and beyond and there's lots of different ways of getting to the end. It's a nice introduction to the world of the series and the gameplay style without being too tricky. Also, never had a crash..Version: 1.5.1

AwesomeThe game is awesome but it's a bit sort.Version: 1.2

Not bad.Not bad. A bit overpriced for such a short game with no multiple save spots, but if you're looking for something different it's well worth it..Version: 1.2

Exceptional, although the weakest of the fourThe whole series of four apps is exceptional. Inkle has transformed now classic gamebook material (Sorcery! by Steve Jackson) into great games. It’s not the book simply ported to an app, it is a game inspired by and centered on the original texts, but Inkle has added so much that it is a very different product, in fact, a much better one, having considerably enriched the original adventure with many details. It is still mostly based on text, which might be unusual for a game, but you quickly realize the power of it is it leaves space to imagination. The four books use interactive tolkienesque maps and some beautiful illustrations that are based on the originals of the 1980’s books. Inkle managed to make the text quite easy to read by breaking it down elegantly with a well chosen font and the result is not overwhelming although it could have been too talkative. Sadly, the first book was the weakest in the series, and it is the same here for the apps, the first one is a little too easy and too linear (although they really worked hard on making it less linear and interactive than the books). However it still offers many hours of playing and it is full of good ideas. The writing is pleasant and the magic spells are fun to use. The combat system is a little simplistic but it works and it is not central to the adventure. If you’re hesitant because the four volumes seem expensive, be aware that the adventure will last very long, making it worth your money..Version: 1.6.1

BEST ios Gamebook!!!I've played more than 15 Gamebooks from 3 different developers on my IPhone. I must say, that despite this being my first app from Inkle, Socery! Is definitely the best one yet. It is indeed shorter than the others, but the effort out into truly converting this into the digital world is well worth the money. The most enjoyable combat system can be found here! NOTE: My iPhone 4 does lag for a second or two when loading the huge map, but it is not too big a deal..Version: 1.2

Really fun and uniqueThis has got to be one of the best games on iOS I found the story line fantastic and has a great fighting mechanic..Version: 1.4.3

Pretty good, too short for its priceAn interactive fiction in a fantasy world with beautiful art, nice music and sound effects, and an interesting story. The battle system is innovative and fun even with its simplicity. So the first time I played through it I thought thought it was fairly interesting but I guess I made many overly cautious decisions that had me explore almost none of the areas and fast-tracked me to the end. Since then I tried replaying it making different decisions and found it vastly more entertaining, clever, and interesting; still somewhat short for its price though. Overall i thought it was fairly easy except for a couple of challenging battles. If you enjoy fantasy settings and RPG gameplay I think you will appreciate the depth and imagination of this world. I would highly recommend multiple play throughs or at least replaying some of the parts of the story to find the more interesting paths to Khare. You will be rewarded for being adventurous in this game. Although the price is steep at $5 I am interested enough in the story and the game is high-quality enough that I will probably purchase part 2..Version: 1.5.1

Really fun game. This game was Really Really Really Really fun. I played this on my ipad and it was quite literally like playing a book. You have a mix of reading and using your own imagination, and drawings to help push your imagination. I played the first one for $5 and immediately fell in love with the storytelling and adventure. I love everything about this game and will recommend to anyone that is looking for a game that you can spend some time with and not feel like you have to constantly mash buttons to have fun. 10/10 thumbs up..Version: 1.6.2

Love this Game!!!!More than likely you could play this game ten times over and not see the same thing twice. It’s a very thought immersing, sophisticated, well put together and designed strategy game. The story, characters, lore, the items even are memorable, and the places you have traveled definitely will give you either fond memories or bad memories. Those memories and feelings can change quickly for one event that was previously not explored, or even a spell, or a different conversation can and will result in different reactions. I have so far, gotten through Sorcery One and half through Sorcery two, I did try Sorcery three and stopped to finish the second. I can’t wait to finish them all and play again. You do not need thought provoking applications or memories and brain enhancing apps. Strategy, euphoria, thinking five, six and sometimes well ahead, while being mindful to a common person and just as cautious with what appears benign, but being open to take risks progress you in so many facets and ways in your mind and the game. It is in many senses, almost a game that can be utilized as a very seldom life experience for real life. Always be careful in all situations but live your life and have fun always while listening to all your senses and feelings. Your mind is the present, logic, and memories or reason. Your heart is what guides you and the present moment to always be aware of and follow. Your gut is instinct and the future. Always remember that and it will be understood in time to know if your heart and mind are being tricked by something you can’t see if your gut is telling you no. Or if your gut says yes and your heart is weary is only telling you to proceed guarded but with courage. Always rationalize and never listen to anything but your internal voice. If it doesn’t feel right. It’s not. I guess I’ve been playing this game too much. Well. Back to it. Thank you!!!!.Version: 1.6.2

GreatIf you liked the originals you will love this, great adaption with a new combat system which makes them fun to play again. Quite short but the books get longer, probably should have made this first one a bit cheaper to get ppl into the series..Version: 1.4.3

Great Game!Wow! can't wait to play a second, third, and FOURTH time! Hope number 2 is out soon!.Version: 1.2

Too short! This is my first time playing a novel-styled game, I have never read the original books but have been waiting some time to play this game after seeing it not long back. Checked out the review on IGN and they said the only downfall was that the game had too many magic spell! (Which is not even a problem) So I download the game and I came across so many different situations which indulge you into the game so much! The style of play is amazing and you really do need to pick your path wisely! But the only downfall is that you can complete this game within 2-3 hours. I did it within a day (on and off) this kind of let me down because at the end I was encouraged to buy part 2 and I couldn't start the adventure again because I'd loose all my stuff for part 2... Make the adventure LONGER!!!!.Version: 1.5.1

Fantastic!A great game with an interesting, interactive story. Really enjoyed spending time going through the different paths and options. Can't wait to see what happens in the sequel - and I hope to see it release sometime soon!.Version: 1.1

Yes. GoodIt's good. I would have liked to have it stated more upfront that its a series; it's tucked away at the end of the description. It's basically an updated multimedia version of Jackson's fighting fantasy style books, but the ambient backgrounds (bustling villages/dank caverns etc), semi role playing elements (conversations/fighting/spell casting) set the scene and atmosphere, and the immersive narrative hits a spot somewhere between story and rpg. The story is on tracks, but there is a sense that it could really go a number of different ways. You can die, but you can roll back decisions, apparently as many times as you like so can enjoy and explore alternative dead endings. They could really go further still with the immersive aspects in future chapters: how about changing the light quality of the interface for day/night and night time adventuring, or when inside a cave or forest? Torch/candlelight? Blood splatters when struck? Etc In this kind of game, where the pace could potentially stall, the more the merrier. Having said that; overall great start, nice approach, and would like to see even more....Version: 1.1

Love itThe first one isn't as good as the 2nd or 3rd, but it's still great. It's like a D&D adventure for your iPhone. Love the story and the variety of choices. The animation is pretty good too. Hours of productivity lost to this immersive fantasy world!!.Version: 1.6.1

Magical! It is “the” best storytelling experience on Apple marketplace. It makes story come alive and interactive in a way that is an unprecedented adventure!.Version: 1.6.1

Expensive re imagination of a piece of my pastWell thumbed copies of all 4 of the Sorcery! books are lurking in my parents' attic somewhere, and this is an excellent re imagination of the first of the series. But $6.49 for something I finished in an hour or so? Maybe too expensive for what it actually is, but it's still a thing of interest and a thing of beauty and I will be buying the other 3..Version: 1.4.3

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.Great story with interesting characters everywhere you look. The illustrations are nice, the interface is easy and enjoyable to use. Combat is challenging, but fun, and using magic to manipulate the situation in so many different ways is highly enjoyable. Perfect for those who appreciate a good RPG and fantasy adventure titles. I do occasionally experience crashes, but they only happen very rarely, and they've definitely not got to the point of damaging my experience of this app. Also, I would say that the story is a little on the short side, but due to the sheer number of choices you can make during your adventure which contribute to a variety of different effects on the story, ultimately this game promotes great replayability, thus the time this game takes to play through is vastly extended. Overall, I thoroughly recommend this to any adventure, fantasy or RPG fan. Definitely worth purchasing, it has certainly become one of the best mobile games I've played yet..Version: 1.4.1

Worth every $$This is easily one of my favorite ios games and I've played quite a few. There is just so much attention to detail and the depth of storytelling is superb. The first time I played it (and by now, I've played it 4 times), I couldn't put it down. It was addictive and I couldn't stop. Those 5 hours or so flew by faster than I could believe. I can't wait for the second installment which looks to potentially be even more enjoyable and exciting. The game would be accessible to most anyone, though it definitely favors those that learn the mechanics quickly, of which there are not a lot, honestly - those there are, are well done and enjoyable. A lot of love was put into this game and it shines through like so few games of any kind seem to these days. You're doing yourself a disservice not playing it. I can't recommend this game any higher..Version: 1.3

Pretty cool development if the adventure books!Very nice idea! Looking forward to next episode!.Version: 1.1

Best interactive fiction out thereThis really is the best piece of interactive fiction available for iOS (barring the brilliant KoDP). Both well-written and satisfying as a narrative, it is also much more visually interesting than releases by Tin Man Games, for instance. The fighting system is less luck-driven than other systems, and the map is both beautiful and function as a way to track your progress through the story. As one other commenter notes, an obvious improvement would be the ability to have multiple story profiles or characters (or make this more obvious if it's already the case). Highly recommended, and I can't wait for the next chapter to come out..Version: 1.1

Hidden GemI have yet to find another SERIES of games that are as under rated as this one. While I can not speak on behalf of the fourth instalment, as I have yet to play it, I still highly recommend the first three!.Version: 1.6.1

Amazing storyline and enhanced gameplayOld classic fighting fantasy book with a unique sense of modern tech just to make the fun more real!!! Do not hesitate. I don't see how you could be disappointed by this great Adventure! Go for the quadralogy....Version: 1.4

Great entertainmentGreat game with great story and writing. A choose your own path adventure that is engrossing.Version: 1.4.2

BeautifulLike some of the other reviewers I thought "That was too short for $5". However, this game has a lot of replay value if you want to see what adventure lies down other paths. Also, when I finished Sorcery! 2 I thought "That was really long for $5", so it balances out. You can tell this game was a lot of hard work and they really cared about it. In the future, I will instantly buy anything from this developer the moment it launches. I am very much looking forward to Sorcery! 3 & 4..Version: 1.4.2

This game is incredibleI've never played a game with more player choice than this one. If you like reading, you'll like this game. If you like fantasy, you'll like this game. If you like open world games, you'll like this game. The list goes on forever, and chances are, you'll like this game. It'll take you on an unforgettable adventure and I highly recommend it to anyone. If you're looking for nearly endless entertainment with a very reasonable price, then this is where it's at..Version: 1.5.1

Just PerfectI recently read all four Sorcery books again and loved them ever bit as much as I did when I first read them all those years ago. Steve Jackson along with Ian Livingstone have since gone on to define much of what goes on in the gaming industry. After a few inferior adaptations of the Fighting Fantasy books, finally this great app totally delivers. What makes this so good, is that in creating an immersive experience, this also manages to stay very true both to the look and feel of the book and also to the actual storyline itself. The iconic original illustrations feature throughout and the story is made all the more real by the addition of an interactive map and atmospheric sound effects. The combat ditches the dice rolling and yet still retains the same edge without the frustration. Spell casting totally works...and yes you'd be wise to remember some spells- memory will be tested! This app is a must for all Fighting Fantasy fans of old and a must for the newer generation- for all people who love gaming. It's no wonder why Jackson and Livingstone have shaped the industry as much as they have. Fantastic..Version: 1.1

Amazing piece of artI don't remember when I left any review on app store.. But this game is absolutely beautiful ;) artwork, music and story which you know that you create and any decision can have an impact is really really immersive.. So great atmosphere here haha^^ i feel like a child and like I found the best game with great story which you can see when you stop for a moment and close your eyes and listen the wind...Version: 1.6.1

Great nostalgic experience! The Steve Jackson & Ian Livingstone books lined my shelves as a kid. Now as an adult, I was chuffed when my son found this gem of a game. Fantastic artwork, music & sound effects makes you lose track of time as you adventure through a world of choices; visit the inn for rest, or just eat what's in your pack and pass through the village! Best game on the iPhone I've played to date. 5 stars & I'll be buying part 2 later!.Version: 1.3

Truly a game, not a bookThe writing in this game is stupendous. It never feels like I’m just reading a book, I constantly feel like I’m weaving the path for my own adventure, and my own story is unfolding before me..Version: 1.6.2

Excellent update of a classic gamebookA very different take on a classic gamebook and the experience in my view has been enhanced for it. Instead of flicking between pages you move your warrior over a very well designed 3D map with the branching choices shown for each step you take, and this has enabled you to see just how far you have progressed through the adventure. Combat is achieved not by dice rolling but by choosing different strengths of attack leading to an simple but effective animated gif sequence plus a little bit of extra story for each attack, with a little practice it becomes easier to understand. All the John Blanche illustrations have been included in original black and white and in this instance I'm glad they haven't been coloured as they really do have a classic feel and help to tie in the story to those of us who still read the original gamebook series. All in all I find this update to have been more than worth the wait and the new style of choosing the path you take on a game map instead of flicking between pages to have enhanced the adventure. I for one cannot wait for the other 3 books to appear..Version: 1.1

Beautiful art with many optionsThe art style feels very unique, the gameplay is deep and rich. The amount of different choices to choose from is quite large, which gives us very high replay value, as I have replayed many times. The game is a bit short, but as is the problem when adapting from a different source; if the book is short, the game is likely to be. Very good game and well translated from book to it..Version: 1.4.3

ImpressiveBrilliant conversion of a great gamebook. Unlike most other digital remakes, inkle have really enhanced the experience with an interactive map and improved combat. They've done this without straying away from the book's original aesthetic, even including John Blanche's original illustrations. A few improvements I hope to see updated or included in the next part: 1) A contents page for the spellbook with links to each spell 2) A link to the spellbook when you choose to cast a spell. At the moment you have to exit the spell screen, open the spellbook and then go back in if you want to check what a spell does. 3) In horizontal mode the spellbook does not fit the screen, nor do some of the other screens. 4) A monster compendium would be nice, and would encourage multiple playthroughs if beating a monster added it to your collection. You could make a collection reminiscent of Out of the Pit..Version: 1.1

Trauma_101Loved this game a little expensive for an app but defiantly worth every cent has a grate story I just purchased the second one so I'll see if the it can live up to this one.Version: 1.4.1

An amazing way to bring the old FFs back to life! Also, the music when selecting your items is the utterly beautiful Fantasia on a theme of Thomas Tallis by Vaughan Williams. Excellent choice. However: $5.50 for just 1/4 of the story is a bit cheeky. Should be the whole thing..Version: 1.1

A gemI have a very large number of apps. But only a small handfull will I ever bother reviewing. This deserves one. The team behind Sorcery have worked hard to give us a memorable, worthwhile experience. A fantastic, refreshing way of tackling the tricky business of interactive storytelling. The art style, the map paths corresponding to the story, the method of combat and minimal but high quality sounds I thouroughly enjoyed. ...I was really fond of Jann too! My only criticism is a better method is needed for flicking through the large spellbook to know what spells can actually be used in a given situation. Otherwise, thanks guys!.Version: 1.2

A strong start to an amazing seriesI've been incredibly impressed with the quality of the Sorcery! series of games. This is the introductory episode, and the one with the least bells and whistles to offer, but it's still a deep, compelling and richly told experience. I strongly recommend it for anyone interested in thoughtful adventure games..Version: 1.6.1

AmazingGreat choose your own adventure style game. Superbly well made. Sequel is even better..Version: 1.4.1

The best 'choose your own adventure' bookThe layout, graphics, sound fx, the ability to rewind to anywhere in your adventure and great map help make this and it's sequel the BEST of it's type on iOS. Tin Man games/Fighting Fantasy should be looking very closely at this title for inspiration.Version: 1.4.3

Great but needs an updateI’ve owned and played all the games in the Sorcery series and loved them but I am disappointed that none of them have been optimized for the iPhone X screen..Version: 1.6.1

Best game I've played on iOS to dateI took a chance on this game. I was looking for a new adventure/strategy game and boy did I find it! Reminiscent of DnD, it puts the fate of the story in your hands allowing for many, many different outcomes which shows the amount of creativity and thought that went into this series. Stop wasting time and buy it already..Version: 1.4.3

Criminally underplayedBest game of its type..Version: 1.6.1

Short but great!Do you know how long I've been looking for a phone game that's engrossing and deep but can be played in short bursts in portrait mode (as befits public transport and idle moments)? Finally, the perfect type of smartphone game!.Version: 1.6.1

Faithful and funStaying faithful to the excellent books this app is well worth it. Looking forward to book 2!.Version: 1.2

Great game! This game is a really good choose your own adventure game and is not as harsh as other ones can be. It is really fun if you have a bit of spare time. :).Version: 1.4.3

Game books for the 21st CenturyI loved playing the original four Fighting Fantasy books in Steve Jackson's Sorcery Series. This app is based on the first original book but has been updated for the digital age. You guide your hero around a beautiful 3D map but the decision making ethic of the original books is still there. If you are a fan of these books or in role playing games in particular then this app is highly recommended. Can't wait for the next three parts to come out..Version: 1.1

Fantastic!!!People saying its too short need to play this game through a few more times, I've played through 4 times and each one had a different experience or an item I hadn't got in my last play through. This game oozes quality and polish that I haven't seen in this genre the 3d map effect is just amazing and the ability to reset from a previous story point is just great for giving the many different directions a go, I can't wait for part 2! A great buy well worth 3 quid..Version: 1.2

Great gameGreat game.Version: 1.4

Very good indeedThis is a very good game. The strength of the original gamebook was it's fantastic sense of place and characters. Also deciding on whether to risk a fight or loss of health points by choosing to dive into situations was really good fun. Both of these aspects have been captured in this digital gamebook. In addition all of the orignal artwork has been added. As has some great music and ambiant sound effects. This really is a very polished experience. I notice a few people trolling about the fact that it is only 1/4 of the overall story. But the original gamebook series was 4 separate books. Complaining that there isn't the full story in the first game is like complaining the Harry Potter wasn't resolved by the end of the first book. In other words, there is a load of content and game in this game. This game is also far superior to the Fighting Fantasy apps produced by Tin Man Games. I bought Blood of the Zombies and was really disappointed. Sorcery!, on the other hand, delivers..Version: 1.1

Magic!Great modern take on an old school classic, as an adult with an iPad this is some great nostalgic book and dice fighting fantasy fun wrapped up in a modern context. I remember this book vividly from my childhood and it's been fun revisiting this exciting and colourful adventure. It would have been hard as a kid to imagine that modern video adventure games like Skyrim would ever exist but this is what we had back then and they were great stories to play. How many other stories, media and games have roots in these types of books? I would guess quite a few. The flawless presentation of this story stands up well against many current generation games in my opinion and I certainly enjoyed the experience. Great work inkle, when are the other 3 chapters out please? Can you throw in Deathtrap Dungeon too please?.Version: 1.1

Awsome gameIs good.Version: 1.4.3

AmazingNot too short for the price. Compared to a cup of coffee these days. Great story, sound and art. Replay value also there. Do yourself a favour and purchase the bundle. Will play all four games..Version: 1.4.3

Such a revelationI loved 80 Days and liked Overboard, but the weird place names in the intro always made this seem foreboding. Glad I powered through. Great fun, great sequels..Version: 1.6.2

ExcellentI really enjoyed this. A lot of effort has gone into converting the original book into an iPhone game. I love the music and the original book art has been used throughout. Great idea of being able to move round the map. I wasn't sure about the fighting element but it has grown in me. It is better the relying on random dice rolls. Being able to rewind to previous events is brilliant. Reminds of the days when I would mark the previous page so I could go back..Version: 1.4.1

PerfectionEverything I hoped for and so much more. This is the new standard of gamebooks on iOS. Can't wait for the rest! Kudos Inkle 👍.Version: 1.1

CrashIt's a really fun game but I've experienced a few annoying crashes. Also it would be great if you could add expansions to make the game longer and add more things..Version: 1.2

So goodIt was so good but I wish the next 3 were free.Version: 1.6.1

An absolute must buy!I didn't think it was possible to have a game with this much consequence for your actions. Every single decision you make has consequences. The combat mechanic is really cool how it actually narrates the battle as you fight based on how the rounds go. How in the world did they ever manage to make this experience into a printed book? I used to love those 'chose your own adventure' books as a kid and this is like a 'choose your own adventure' book on steroids. Loving every moment of it..Version: 1.2

AwesomeExpensive but so worth it and #2 is even better! Plz make more "chose your own adventure" book/apps!!:).Version: 1.4.3

Brilliant!Loved every second of playing/reading this, a very unique experience. Played through the game about 4 times now and will play through yet again. Worth every cent! Can't wait for book 2!.Version: 1.2

SorceryThis game is amazing I bought the bundle with all four games and I’m into the 2nd game so many options to get through different scenarios you can get different results every time it’s amazing.Version: 1.6.1

Great but money grabbingThis is a great adventure game based on choice, but with multiple parts at $5.49 each? I think that's a little expensive. Great nonetheless..Version: 1.4.1

AmazingThis is an absolutely great game, after watching the Yogscast do a lets play I decided to give it a go and I have no regrets! Worth every dollar spent..Version: 1.4.3

Amazing game ( play all they connect )"Optional".Version: 1.6.1

WonderfulThis app is truly a remarkable achievement. I was skeptical about the new gaming system as I have deep-seated nostalgia for the original Fighting Fantasy mechanics. However, after playing through the adventure twice, I must say that I prefer this model due to its reliance on strategy and choice as opposed to random dice rolls. The combat system alone is a stellar achievement. The interactive map truly brings the game world to life. Also, the writers have given a few of the encounters some original and satisfying tweaks that freshen the experience for those already familiar with the source material. Bravo! As for the complaints about the price and brevity of the adventure, I would dismiss those outright. Clearly, this effort has been a labor of love, and the developers deserve to be handsomely rewarded for their skillful execution. Five dollars is cheaper than the one shot experience of going to a movie theater, and this product offers a deeply immersive gaming environment with satisfactory replay value. Five dollars is also cheaper than the original gamebook on which this app is based. And, though The Shamutanti Hills may be explored and conquered in two hours time, gamers must bear in mind that it is only the first stage of a four part quest. If the total cost of the entire epic series comes to roughly twenty dollars, then I would happily call that a steal..Version: 1.2

Even better than the classic booksA really successful rendering of the classic "choose your own adventure" style paperback into a mobile game. The charm of the original book is captured while the designers have taken the opportunity to adjust the mechanics of combat to be more fun and engaging. Really the games should be played in order since you can save your character from one to the next. Also, this is by far the most simple of the games, with Sorcery 2 and 3 adding new mechanics such as dice gaming for gold. So, play this first and then be impressed by the increasing complexity of the next 2 (untimely there will be four in all once they've finished the final installment.) Note: I foolishly didn't realise that the "rewind" feature can take you ANY number of steps backwards. Very nice. Makes me remember the finger contortion of playing the book version and trying to keep track of multiple pages in order to jump back from a bad choice..Version: 1.5.1

Absolutely stunning!!Immersive, awe inspiring and beautifully narrated!.Version: 1.1

So glad there's moreA compelling story that inspires me to create my own stories. Casting spells and the small illustrations of characters and creatures are my favorite part of this great game..Version: 1.6.1

Great gameVery enjoyable. A little on the short side, but I would still say it warrants the price. This game is a text adventure rpg where every choice seems important. There's nothing fancy graphics wise (as you would expect from this type of game) but there's a nice art style. I have yet to play part 2, but look forward to it. Am currently debating re-playing part one to have a better character to carry over. Give it a go :).Version: 1.4.1

PnP RPG for a new generationSuperb recreation of the feel of old style pen & paper RPG from the 1980s, magnificently updated for the high rez iPad. The source material from Steve Jackson is top notch, but the implementation here is stunningly good. A must have for those who Iike gamebooks or more traditional formats like D&D..Version: 1.1

Good, not long playtimeThis game is worth your time to try out. It's well done but felt short to me. Maybe 1.5 hours. You can replay and make different choices so that would increase the playtime. I only needed three spells but there are tons more. Not sure if I will buy #2. Worried about the length of play..Version: 1.6.1

10/10Easily one of the best iOS games I've played in a long time. Well worth the money but it was a bit short, good job guys.Version: 1.4.3

Only Gets Better...People who are only playing the first part of this and giving up are not being patient. It's a delightful epic that starts simply as a classic Choose Your Own Adventure but ends with surprisingly sophisticated gameplay. $17 for all four parts, but more intricate story and character customization than $60 for Mass Effect: Andromeda..Version: 1.6.1

Fantastic gameThis is how 'choose your own path' novels should be. The music is atmospheric, gameplay is intriguing, and the story line is captivating. Great stuff!.Version: 1.4.1

ÉpicesAn excellent version or the epic gamebook. Lives up to all of my expectations. Beautiful..Version: 1.4.3

GreatWatched the yogscast play it so bought it myself, love it! Getting part 2 now :).Version: 1.4.3

I like itIt's awesome.Version: 1.5.1

Yogscast!Yogscast played this on stream and that's what made me but this :D.Version: 1.4.1

I couldn't put it down!I remember reading Steven Jackson books as a kid and when I saw this I had to buy it. It is a beautiful port from book to digital format. The story is very immersive and has you reading every single word. I've gone back in time to my childhood! Best of all, I can't wait to give this to my 9 year old son whom I am sure will love it just as much as his old man. Thank you..Version: 1.4.3

Truly amazingAfter having finished this game and the second one, I have to say I am blown away. The art style is lovely and the gameplay interesting. While it is true that is is not the cheapest app on the store, you cannot possibly get through all the content in one play through, although I recommend completing the second instalment too before replaying this one so you can get two 'complete stories'. All in all it is a stunning re-imagining of the original books without the hassle of turning pages, rolling dice and editing character sheets, and its cheaper than buying the books too! Why are you still reading this review? Just buy the game!.Version: 1.4.3

Even better than the origional! This update to the game keeps everything that was good about the origional book, but develops the fighting combat so that it is more tactical and skill based rather than just luck. It also gives you far more actual writing and text than the origional book did, and you have many more choices. The map is georgous and the style is beautifully done. Personally my only complaint is that we have to wait several months in order to get the next installment in the series; but to be honest with a game like this and all the work they put into it, I can see why it might take that time. Cannot reccomend this one highly enough!.Version: 1.1

AmazingI haven't read the books but looked at this game and it's exactly like all the games I love to play! I wasn't disappointed as this has amazing, classic graphics, and great gameplay. It is a challenge, very difficult, but who doesn't like a good challenge? At the moment I am stuck in this mine thing, and there seems to be no way to get out alive... What do I do? Energy seems a little to hard to get, and I'm looking forward to getting the second in this series! But these problems are minor, on the whole, I love this game!!.Version: 1.4.2

An amazing gameI never thought that back in the 80's when i was reading these classic Sorcery books that years later i would be playing a game of this series and better yet in the palm of my hand I love traditional fighting fantasy style books but this has raised the bar with great graphics and a different type of gameplay. Looking forward to the next part of this. An excellent game and a brilliant remake of the classic books.Version: 1.3

A masterpieceThis game and all other 3 apps in the series are carefully crafted gems. The source material was likely already great, but these devs took it too a new level. They’re obviously a small studio, but the attention to detail and depth in these games is surprising. A must for fans of fantasy, D&D, Choose Your Own Adventure, and old school gaming.Version: 1.6.2

Very satisfiedI think this is my first time reviewing. I normally dont do this because I see it as a waste of my time. But this needs recognition. It is soooo good! Try it and see, so much replayability, and with the next in the series you have so many options for carrying over other saves. Its kind of like mass effect how it carries through all games if you want it too. Love the amount of choices. Its a classic book brought back to life! Love it!.Version: 1.3

Amazing!Very cool imagining of a classic gambook! The 3D cartographic map is a stroke of genius and combined with the environmental sound effects and descriptive text, really draws you in to the world. I was slightly dubious of the combat at the start but after a couple of fights saw it as an interesting take on 'rock paper scissors'. The only thing I would like to see implemented is seperate maps for any subterranean levels as I felt the sound effects and text didnt feel right whilst looking at the overland map. Really looking forward to the next three installments! Kudos Inkle! As a side note, I hope a developer out there will take inspiration from Sorcery! and apply it to a full-on table-top rpg adventure module!.Version: 1.1

PerfectLoved these games as books, now it's taken to a whole new level. I've played through both app games several times and found new stuff every time. Can't wait for the next instalment..Version: 1.4

Nice digital version of classic bookI am pleased how this digital version is a good enhancement of old classic gamebook adventure. for all those saying 5$ is too much, well i find it a good amount for 2-3hours first playthrough and enough decision to try it a second and third time. Also i remember those book used to be around 10$ in paper version so the 5$ digital is quite decent for something more than straight port of original content.Version: 1.4.3

An extraordinary experience I’m for ever grateful for having.Feeling relaxed and being in a pleasant state of mind can go such a long way. I get high and play this game and thus I am able to feel a way that no one has ever felt before while playing this game. One of the best times of my life was while playing this game and I’m so lucky to have had that experience . I know how lucky I am. Most people go their entire life’s without feeling what I felt, without doing what I was doing. This game also made me sharper and more durable it taught me many morals of many different stories. Thank you Steve Jackson , You will never know how incredible I felt whilst playing this and it was not just because of the pills it was because your game was very pleasant to play..Version: 1.6.2

Wonderful ImplementationThe replay value of a branching plot game like this is always great. The fact that Inkle have wrapped it in a really beautiful package is delicious icing on that particular cake!.Version: 1.2

Fun Fantasy Choose Your Own AdventureThis game is basically a fantasy version of a choose your own adventure book. The story is interesting and there is are simple but engaging battle and spell casting systems. The artwork is also amazing, as it includes much of the original artwork as well as a nice new world map. Cons are that the game has limited replayability, since at points where you have to choose between options there is usually only two choices; and the fact that the game stops at a point that does not resolve any of the main storyline, making it so you have to buy the next chapter(s) to be able to experience anything more than a very thin introduction to your character's quest. All in all I would recommend this game to fantasy fans who are interested in a more traditional RPG experience..Version: 1.2

Super fun choose your own adventureI had never played this type of game before and I went out on a limb trying it out by buying the first game. After finishing the first Immediately bought the rest ( when you buy the rest of the games it still gives you the bundle discount, very nice ). You will start out figuring out how the fighting works, very nice simple mechanics, nothing fancy. The true essence of this game is making decisions and dealing with them, sometimes for the better and annoyingly for the worst. For most of the game you can go back if you want to see how the outcome would have turned out doing something completely different, but you quickly notice that sometimes by just having a particular item at a particular time of day can change something completely. So many choices that it would be very difficult to go back and play the game exactly the same. Two people playing would have two completely different outcomes and endings. Long story short this game was awesome, epic, sometimes super funny, and at times very difficult making me really strain and think about what I had to do next, constantly managing the risks. Super good job inkle. I want more!.Version: 1.6.1

AwesomeMake more games like this but cheeper fantabulous game..Version: 1.4.1

Nice gameI loved the game, it's got a nice story and an interesting play style, it's a little pricey but other than that its a nice game to play when your bored on a bus or want to read a nice interactive story..Version: 1.4.2

Excellent!Highly recommended. Immersive, beautiful, intelligent. Very enjoyable..Version: 1.6.1

Brilliant!Awesome way to read FF books brings back so many memories!.Version: 1.1

AmazingAmazing Definitely a must buy Wish I could have multiple saves though.Version: 1.4.1

Best iOS Gamebook?Loved the interactive map and the spell mechanics. It really is the best interactive version of a game book I've enjoyed. If you take your time exploring side paths it extends the game to an acceptable length, otherwise it'll feel short. Definite replay value in wanting to discover unexplored areas of the map. The only improvement I could wish for is access to the spell book directly when casting spells, but that's a small niggle. Is great innit..Version: 1.2

Amazing game - love this seriesFantastic game - so many choices and routes to explore! This game is designed to give you an introduction to interactive stories and does a great job. I simply love the fantastic world that this game creates and overcoming all challenges/opponents with plenty of swagger ;). Socery 2 is another fantastic game but much harder - so I'd recommend a couple of runs through of Socery to give you the best shot at getting through! Keep it up Inkle and bring out Socery 3 soon please!.Version: 1.4.3

Very fun and innovative RPGThis is the kind of innovation that Inkle is great at. This take on a fantasy RPG plays almost like the pen and paper games of old, but with fresh graphics and a very fun and open spell interface. Please keep them coming!.Version: 1.6.1

One of the best games ever made!I don't normally write reviews for games, but this one is a special exception. I've played hundreds of App games and this is among the very few that I cannot put down. The first Sorcery! isn't as long as the second and third instalments, but it is still well worth the price. The game itself is an absorbing, thrilling and even amusing story (in the form of a choose-your-own-adventure book, but with a cleverly designed combat system) that changes with your every choice and decision, influencing how the rest of the game and the following instalments play out. I found myself playing through the game several times before I moved on to Sorcery! 2 (which is affected by your choices in the first Sorcery!). I cannot highly recommend this game enough. It is so incredibly well designed (I believe it is adapted from a book series) and highly engaging that I play it (in the middle of Sorcery! 3 currently) every chance I get - and believe me, that doesn't happen often!.Version: 1.4.3

Treat part one as a prologue/tutorial for the rest of the seriesThe first part of this adapatation is pretty much exactly what you found in the original books, and won't take you long to complete. However, with each subsequent part inkle added more and more content, tuening an already great series into something even greater. Buy the bundle - you won't regret it!.Version: 1.6.1

Bug (please respond)Love the game but whenever I go to cast a spell, a weird character that looks like an omega symbol replaces some letters... it’s not super detrimental, but I screw up spells all the time exploring every town and mine and death trap this wonderful game offers..Version: 1.6.1

The perfect adaptation of a fighting fantasy bookAs a fan of fighting fantasy I am well versed in the sorcery! collection, and while other adaptations of the other books have been good, this sets the bar to a whole new level. The combat setup is perfect - straight forward but still with a certain tactical requirement. The story is excellent anyway, but with the interactive features and the facility up carry over all you learn and collect to the next installments this makes it an adventure rather than a journey. And for those of us who like our cake and est it too, there is the facility to rewind back a step to check another path or avoid a mistake :p The price is reflected in just how much effort has gone into this adaptation, and as a fan I was not disappointed..Version: 1.4.2

O for owsome!The title says all!.Version: 1.3

100% AwesomeThis game is the best choose your own adventure type of game I've ever played! Thumbs up.Version: 1.4.2

Great return to Fighting FantasyExactly what you hope it is..Version: 1.1

Very Good but Uncomfortably ShortThis is a very good game but uncomfortably short unless you go back and do other play throughs. For the price it’s not the best especially since I wanna play through the whole series once before restarting. 4 stars because of the length and price.Version: 1.6.1

Great gameA very fun, addictive game. Well worth it 😄.Version: 1.2

FantasticThis game is heavily addicting and has a lot of replay value very very fun!.Version: 1.4.1

Better than usualI don't usually write reviews, but I felt the need to write one for Sorcery! I have hated game books in the past. Whether it be Lone Wolf or the Fighting Fantasy series, I have found them to be too linear and too boring. I tried the book version of "The Warlock of Firetop Mountain" a few years ago and hated it. So, I was wary about Sorcery! I needn't have been; it's really good. The cost of five dollars didn't bother me -- I'm not a miser or so impoverished that I can't afford five dollars. I was worried about the content, and it seemed like Sorcery! is better than any game book I've played so far. The graphics and music are amazing. There were two parts of the adventure that made me want to tear out my hair in frustration (the fairy and the old woman sorceress), but for the most part, Sorcery! was great. I highly recommend it to anyone even vaguely interested in such an app..Version: 1.2

Reliving My ChildhoodThere are many moments in this game that bring me back to childhood, with a pencil and dice on the table, working my way through the books..Version: 1.3

GREAT!An extremely engaging game that is a throwback to the classic choose your own adventure books. I only wonder how the other 3 parts will be released... As in app updates? Separate app episodes? Im just hoping the next parts wont cost much.Version: 1.1

Great Game...Finished it twice and I am sure I will play it again!.Version: 1.4.1

Great gameI did not die my first time through, and if u did the game in an hour something is wrong, there are 41 spells it took me that long to look over all the spells I would need to use during the journey, you need to carefully read the text to figure out the most appropriate spell, the name of the game is sorcery so it is best to use ur magic not just fight, even when u do use ur sword u need to read the text to help figure out the best stance to take. Overall I really loved the game and I am moving onto part 2. This is like a tabletop rpg, d and d type game, decision based, forcing u to think and take your time. Highly recommend this game..Version: 1.6.1

A modern twist on the classic booksI have been thinking about the choose your own adventure books that I can remember reading in the library as a kid growing up, and this medium is perfect for it. It does a great job of tracking your progress for you, and (as in the books) you can always flick back and choose again if you were unhappy with a particular outcome (how ever, I wouldn't encourage doing so too much, it's more interesting that way). The game looks a plays great, I've had a blast. It's a tad pricy for a mobile game, but if all 4 parts cost £4 each then it's pretty reasonable to get the whole experience for £16 really. Great job :).Version: 1.4.3

Fun text adventureThis is great if you are into pen&paper RPGs or other text based games like that. Yeah, okay, the game dynamics aren't great (why do I need to swipe after choosing an option?) - but hey, it doesn't make the game any less fun. It's a little bit short for what it costs but I've immediately bought the second part - I wanna keep going!.Version: 1.6.1

Excellent update of the booksI loved the Sorcery! books back in the 1980s, and these adaptations certainly do justice to the impact that the books had back then. The interactive aspect of the original Fighting Fantasy books is preserved, but this is no lazy adaptation and the books are enhanced in several ways by their transference to iPad/iPhone - particularly impressive is the system used to cast spells that retains the essence of the original memory test. The music is good too (it's always nice to hear a bit of Vaughan-Williams) and the presentation and quality of the software can't be faulted. The only downside is that these weren't around in this form in the 1980s..Version: 1.4.1

Love!!!!!!The graphics are gorgeous! The story is engaging! I can't wait for the next chapters! With so many items to find and friends to make in this one, it will be exciting to see how they effect future chapters!!!!!!.Version: 1.3

Epic gameIt's a great game and everyone saying its to short is being stupid cause there are multiple ways and path to finish this game and plus think of how much effort the creator has put into it it does take time to make games like this so I think it's well worth the money.Version: 1.4.3

Fantastic Series of GamesThe Sorcery series is nothing short of epic. Inkle have taken a classic of gamebook literature and improved upon it. While the first book stays more or less faithful to the source material (no bad thing!) the second book introduces an exciting subplot for the player to discover and plays around with the format of the main story whilst remaining true to the spirit of the original. The third chapter - whilst having the same overall goal as the book on which It is based - really changes things up. The mechanics and execution here are excellent, as is the execution, and the bittersweet twist at the end is a lot of fun. The fourth story is a grand finale and the final show down feels suitably epic and rewarding. The fact that there are multiple ends feels very satisfying. Each of these games is great in their own right, but the ability to affect future games with actions in previous ones really knits it all together well. The quality of the writing helps here - the game acknowledges what other actions you’ve taken and thus it feels like you’re in a living, breathing world. The fact that you get different dialogue choices and responses if you’ve been acting like an honourable hero vs being a despicable rogue is evidence of this. Speaking of writing, for what is essentially a piece of interactive fiction, Inkle have done a great job of making there games visually appealing. The maps look great, and the various characters you meet are well drawn. The fact that the original John Blanche art is utilised to great effect is the cherry on the cake. Sorcery’s sound effects do a good job of setting atmosphere - the birdsong during the day changes to crickets at night, and the contrast between the hustle and bustle of the city is marked when compared to the windswept emptiness of the Baklands. However, special credit needs to be given to the main score. Sweeping and inspiring, by the time you get to the fourth chapter hearing it gets you pumped for the show down ahead! Finally, praise must be given to the interface. Everything is simple to navigate and intuitive to use. Combat is a lot of fun - trying to second guess your opponent based on the descriptions of what is happening was a high point for me. Likewise the rewind mechanic - and the REASON for it - was well executed and useful. In short, regardless if you have read the original material or not, if you like a great, epic story you will love this..Version: 1.6.1

Amazing! This whole series is beautifully done and magical to delve into!.Version: 1.6.2

If you like the genreThen this is a great and intuitive game. I was a bit sad at how short the game was since it was so pricey. You'd expect it to have been finished for this price not make you buy another 3 parts just to finish the story. I hope they release the next parts as UPDATES not entirely new apps. If they do than definitely buy cuz it will be worth, if not, a lot to pay for such a short experience..Version: 1.2

Lovely, original, innovative game/bookThe original book somehow passed me by but I'm so glad someone saw the merit in adapting it for iOS. This is just a brilliant concept and takes the reading experience in a fresh engaging direction. I know there are other books by Steve Jackson in this series that will be released, but I hope this will be the start of other original fantasy stories / books written in this way for the App Store ('The Book Of Lost Things' by John Connelly for instance). Good job Inkle - can't wait for the next instalment..Version: 1.1

Adventures and AwesomenessInkle make a great game engine that made this into a hybrid of a book and a adventure game, the game overall is visually pleasing and the engine they made could mean giving a new outlet for great possibilities.Version: 1.4.2

Adventure!Fun to play. Can't wait for the next episode. Maybe make the next game a little longer? This was kinda short for someone who is really addicted like me..Version: 1.2

Amazing!Choose your own adventure style game hours of fun with replayability great game.Version: 1.4.3

Immersive!Very enjoyable game!.Version: 1.4.1

HiHi jerma.Version: 1.4.3

Pretty FunSorcery is a pretty fun game. I got about 2-3 hours out of it just from doing one blind playthrough before doing a few more to explore the other choices. This game gives a nice bit of freedom in how you play, you can be a goodie two-shoes, a total jerk, or somewhere in between, so you're not stuck playing the same, static MC every playthrough. The way magic is used in this game is also an interesting twist, and being able to reverse mistakes without having to completely restart is a welcomed feature, especially when you're just trying to explore alternatives..Version: 1.6.1

BrilliantI'll admit that the first game feels pretty short if you only play through once. But it's part of a larger story, and every decision influences the next. I'm a little ways into Sorcery 3 and still feeling the consequences of decisions I made in the first game. It's absolutely brilliant and I can't wait for the fourth entry!.Version: 1.5.1

Really good!Much better than I expected, unique gameplay and the most immersive "you choose" adventure on the iOS. Really recommend this game!.Version: 1.2

Atmospheric and immersiveThis is an excellent adaptation of the Sorcery series of game books and a very enjoyable presentation for game books in general. Inkle have improved on the books a numerous ways. The music and ambient sound effects really bring the text alive, and the new "blind bid" combat system makes me feel like I have a little more control over the outcome than a pair of dice give me. My favourite improvement is the luxurious world map: it's really helpful, not just in showing you the areas you haven't explored (so you can better plan your next play through) but also helping you get a sense of the world you're in and the progress you've attained. The game encourages multiple play throughs, and sets up the much larger Sorcery 2. I encourage you to get them both. They're really well written and make you feel like you're actually playing w/ a dungeon master, unlike what we typically label as an RPG these days..Version: 1.4.3

Beautiful and fantastic! This is a gorgeous adaptation of the game book. The simple adaptation of the mechanics for magic and fighting is fun. I can't wait to see the rest of the series. There's no game I'm more looking forward to..Version: 1.2

Excellent adaptationVery nice adaptation of this marvellous series from Steve Jackson. Love the inventive combat mechanic - much better than staring at electronic dice. The 'rewind button' conveniently services the obsessive completionist in me too. The Shamutanti Hills was the most straight forward of the four sorcery books. I remember it getting increasingly complex, to the point where The Crown of Kings was a real head-scratcher. I never did find my way through it as a kid. I look forward to Khare and the other books, and uncovering the solution now that I'm all grown up. Well done Inkle!.Version: 1.2

Sorcery! ReviewWow... What an incredible game. It seems to do everything right - the combat is exciting, tactical and deep, the map is huge, and while not a fully open world experience, you will be able to visit every location on the map with a few playthroughs. There is so much to do here, including saving a young girl who has been kidnapped, exploring dark mines, or even becoming a paid bounty hunter. Everywhere is so immersive and atmospheric that you will just glance at a paragraph and you're hooked. And those paragraphs are well written, which is very important for a game book. The game lacks in length, however, it more than makes up for this with its endless opportunities and depth. A must buy, and perhaps the best money I've spent on an iOS game..Version: 1.1

Incredible gameThis is the one game I recommend to anyone I get on the topic with, gamer or no. It’s an incredibly beautiful and immersive choose-your-own-adventure series. I’ve played through all four parts several times and I always find myself searching the App Store for new games that are similar. I just wrote my first App Store review on one of those searches! That’s how much this game sticks with you..Version: 1.6.1

Biggest and best adventureAn amazing book not only adapted to, but enhanced by virtue of being an app. Tonnes of choices, items, spells. Amazing art, ambient noises and characters. You can play it dozens of times and still have more things you haven't seen. Well worth the money.Version: 1.5.1

Fantastic!Great game!.Version: 1.1

FunA fun app.Version: 1.6.1

BrilliantWithout a doubt, the app itself is worth 5-stars. The map, the story telling and the new combat format really set the new standard for the game book genre - if you are a fan, this is by far the best yet produced. The story holds true to what I remember of the original book and the "go back and choose a different path" is much better than the bookmark system in other game books. The contextual background noise is very well thought out, though, I think some "mood music" would not go astray to polish the work as a whole. I think the price point is fair for early adopters, more bang-for-buck than other game books and certainly a good deal less than what you'd pay for a paper copy these days (I'm kicking myself that I got rid of mine). It is a short book (assuming you found the golden path to give you the best possible outcome for the other books in the series). On that note it would be good if Inkle could work on replayability but at the end of the day this is a story, albeit interactive, that has a beginning, a middle and an end and once you are done you are done (funny how that works with books). At any rate, the next instalments can't come quick enough. One can only hope that new stories are also on the horizon..Version: 1.2

Oh, the nostalgiaHaha, wow this is fantastic. I still have these books in a box somewhere in the attic, I loved these. The way that it has been beautifully reimagined for iOS makes it all worth going back to. The combat system is great, updated, but still requires careful analysis of the enemy. The music is fantastic. One thing I would like, is the ability to see exactly how weapons and stuff affect my combat stats. Lots of replayability to go down all the different paths and get the best possible combination of equipment and treasure. Can't wait for the upcoming update. I would definitely recommend buying it..Version: 1.3

Best iOS game everThis and the whole series of games are the best rpg games on the App Store..Version: 1.6.1

Amazing adaptationIf you read everyone's comments you will see a lot of people say this is to short. Well if you know the 4 books of the series like I do you know that Shamutanti Hills is by far the thinnest and shortest. Khare by contrast was twice as thick. So yeah, the first release is a bit short. The app stays true to the original books source material. However the Skill and Luck aspects are not here. So is the "dice factor" determining your fate. If you want that then download the Tinman versions of Fighting Fantasy but I will tell you the Sorcery adaptation is better looking and more fun. The battle system can be confusing, it's very strategy based and it's easy to get killed by stronger opponents. Overall I can't wait for Khare but I pray that Inkle releases versions outside of just the Sorcery series..Version: 1.3
