✓ Not a fun or a good gameThe game isn't great. It advertises itself as a choices game but it's not. On some occasions, certain "choices" are locked unless you use diamonds to choose them. This usually happens when there are two choices, with one very favourable and the other not at all. Unfortunately, diamonds need to bought with real money. So unless you're willing to cash out on a dumb little choices game, you'll be making less favourable choices throughout the game. This is a "pay to choose" game. ✓ Great ideas behind it but....I love episode but for 1 ticket you have to wait THREE HOURS?!?! I find this more than slightly off putting especially since I don't want/can't spend money on an app. I do understand that you have to make a profit but 3 hours to play one 5-10 minute chapter? I find that ridiculous. I suggest making it maybe 30 minutes instead of 3 hours. Then the gems.... How many stories I have played that for the only reasonable choice or the choice that allows you to get close to a person or save someone costs a huge amount of gems. I don't think that KISSING someone should cost money. Like that is so freaking dumb. Maybe if the character is shopping for like a special outfit it can cost something but wearing an outfit that you ALREADY OWN? Again really stupid. ✓ They reel you in and get greedy.I’ve literally been on episode since it’s early beginning days. Due to busy life commitments and responsibilities etc- I hadn’t been on in a while until recently.... and my god am I disappointed in it. It’s become all about money now hasn’t it? I used to really enjoy this game- reading episodes both from other users and the app itself... I didn’t mind waiting for the passes every 4 hours- I didn’t mind watching the ads. I sometimes even purchased tickets- which was fine cause it’s left at the users discretion- you either wait patiently or put some money in. This new gem thing however; is absolutely shocking. Like I understand the idea/concept of it, but almost every story I’ve come across requires insane amounts of gems to make the better choice- leaving people having to reluctantly opt for the rubbish alternative choice- completely taking away the enjoyment of reading the stories on episode. I miss the days when you could read through a story and make choices to personalise the journey of your episodes without it costing you anything. ✓ I mean I guessIt’s a great game honestly however it’s still got the same issues that made me delete it a year ago. The diamonds concept is stupid you can’t do certain parts of the story without diamonds but you’re expected to earn diamonds by completing chapters which you can only do 4 times at most every three hours. I mistakenly bought it thinking I could read my fav community stories but no. Episode you had to screw it up. You are not going to keep people wanting to read with this in place, change back to the previous changes when we could read community stories on the subscription or could read consecutively without this timer. ✓ What happened?Like many people Episode was a classic game from when I was younger. It was fun, and sure waiting around for tickets was a pain, but no where near as much of a pain as the whole app is now. It’s become so exclusive and the whole “read x amount of chapters before unlocking the full game” is stupid. If you’re gonna do that at least provide some variety, because I know for a fact there are more stories than just romance on this app. And having those stories be “use gems to pick this choice” kind of stories is also bad because no one who first opens the app is going to have the 19 gems to pick a good option in a story they don’t like. In fact the whole concept of having to pay to select a choice is terrible because it means that there’s a TON of people who don’t get the full experience of a story and it isn’t fair. If you’re advertising as a free to play game it should BE a free to play game. ✓ I love it but...This is one of my favourite apps and I use it nearly every day. somehow this app seems to pull me towards the dramas and the romances, the only thing is... I have been writing my story recently and I’ve realised that the Mobil creation part of the app only has very limited options. I am very grateful at the fact that the app has added choices to the list of things we can do but I feel as if we should be able to do things like have more backgrounds and limelight features on our characters. I have also noticed that our clothing choices are very limited. For the clothing choices I think that we should have a lot and I mean a lot more options. I think we should be able to choose what top we want, what bottoms we want and what shoes we want. I have visited the website and created characters on there and I think that the character creation part of the Mobil creation should be more like that. ✓ FeedbackThis app is good but could be improved. The Diamonds are super expensive and the story isn’t that enjoyable without them. To make this game more user friendly I would suggest rewarding people for watching ads like giving them free diamonds or getting people to pay for the stories they want to read. I just feel like without being able to afford the diamonds the story is not enjoyable as it’s either pay $5 to experience this or forget about it. It’s just not fun! ✓ My favourite app now my leastI used to love this app but now that you have to use 20-30 gems to pick the most reasonable choice is a terrible mistake by the app. Me and my friends all used to play Episode and only recommend stories t each other that are worth playing - which means making use choose between paying real money or not having a choice isn’t looking so good for you. Users do not receive enough gems to regularly or even rarely make those choices which can ruin the stories for the audience. Many people are not willing to pay for those gems which are reflected in your other reviews. There are also not enough passes given out often enough. I have noticed that you have recently retired the mobile creation on Episode which for me used to be a great way to attempt making my own stories to match up with some of the other amazing ones out there. The mobile creation was limited to only the Episode INK character and had extremely limited outfit choices (the outfits also had to be chosen all together rather than mixing and matching different seperate pieces). It would be great if you could create some way for users inexperienced with coding to make their own stories in Episode LIMELIGHT. It’s disappointing how my once favourite app has turned out and reading through the recent comments makes it clear to me that you have no value in what your users want or want improvements on. But i have a few issues id like to bring up. Emotions, backgrounds, clothing and so on why is it all available on episode interactive but not on the mobile app? I don't think it's fair. Not everyone has access or can afford computers and so on. While you can go onto episode interactive on a mobile phone, it doesn't exactly work and its disappointing for so many users that we don't have the opportunity to actually pick clothing and create outfits , we don't have many options for backgrounds and we don't have many options for our characters actions or emotions, its disappointing. Each separated into two categories: serious and stupid. My stories are on the stupid side. Now, you may be wondering - what else is good about the app? Not much. ✓ My daughter was obsessedWhen my daughter first found out about the app she ran to me and was begging me to get it for her and at first I was I thought it was an innocent game but a couple of weeks later I noticed she was not letting her phone go and I was worried. ✓ Stupid bugs, fix it.So I was inspired to make my own story on episode (mobile) and so I wrote like half of the story and I saved it and went off the app, then the next day I came on this glitch happened like I couldn’t see the characters on the screen unless I previewed it, and sometimes the characters that I customised would turn into the same character like e.g I created Jess and phoebe and when I went back onto that game Jess and phoebe turned into another character called kiki and I didn’t change them at all, last thing is when I went to get my character that I had made from the section they were all gone all that characters that I had made were all gone. ✓ Solid game butI’ve always really liked this game but there are a few things that really affect my enjoyment of it. first of all, pretty much every story has gem choices (gems being the currency in the game), where you have to pay a load of gems for the story to go the good way. this makes it really annoying to play as you can miss out on really fun scenes because you don’t have enough gems, and buying them feels like a waste seeing as you end up spending all of them on one choice. the gem choice problem would be fine if gems were easy to get, but they take FOREVER to get as you only get 1 when you finish a chapter of a story and 2 when you enter the game, and good choices can cost up to 29 gems. i think it would be better if the choice which isn’t a gem choice is less devastating, as sometimes not choosing the gem choice can mess up your story. second of all, i wish there was an option to do a story again. i love the dating show stories and i adored Love on Fire and the Kiss List, but i can’t do them again which upsets me personally because i want to test the other ways i could do the story. don’t get me wrong, this is a very entertaining game but all players can agree that gem choices ruin it..Spilla 2020Version: 24.40

✓ Fun but money hungryIve been playing episode for a long time and at the beginning I enjoyed it. I remember not always having enough diamonds to make the better decisions and that’s how I found user stories. Not only were user stories well written they also did not force you to spend 29 gems on one decision and they had way more episodes then the regular stories produced by episode. I thought I had hit the jackpot until episode noticed user stories were deemed better so they gave author’s the ability to make choices cause gems. This upset me as I enjoy supporting author’s but it’s not fun to read my favorite stories when every time I make a decision it cost me money .Years ago you would get 4 tickets every 3 hours and now it’s only 2 tickets. Inflation in episode is everywhere and its very upsetting. Every choice in an original episode story cost 29 gems. Making 5 choices would cost you 145 gems. To even get 145 gems you would need to spend $20. Thats insane and there are way more then 5 choices in one single episode. I have 1 more ticket left and now they are telling me I can’t read the next 3 episodes of a user story unless I wait an hour or unless I give them 7 gems. This is insane you can not do a single thing or you will be spending money and a lot of it. ✓ Too many gem optionsIt’s a good and fun app but there are way too many simple option that cost so many diamonds. The price of the diamonds is ridiculous on its own but when compared to the fact that most options range from 19-29 diamonds it means that i cant do anything. It makes the characters unlikable because the options they are then stuck to are the crappy ones that make them boring or horrible to others. It was 29 diamonds to go swimming, 29 diamonds for a dress, 29 diamonds to kiss someone. ✓ It’s okayI’ve been using this app for YEARS like back in the campus crush days. The premise of this app is great and I love it. But, I honestly hate all of the stories you guys are making. ✓ Great but annoying!!I love this app tbh.. but it’s really annoying how they only give you one gem for every time you finish an episode. Like at least give us two. Because most of the episodes have 3 exclusive choices where you have to use more than 20 gems for each. And that’s only for 1 episode/chapter which means it’s about 60 gems you have to spend for one episode (if you want to). They need to put less than two exclusive choices in one episode. Because it costs a lot. And for the exclusive choices there’s usually three choices where you either keep what you don’t want/sorta destroy your relationship with someone, have to pay for something and have to pay for something else. Which means we don’t really have a choice and it’s really annoying. They need to at least give us some chances so we actually make our own choices on the app. I’m loving this app but i might delete it soon because it’s not really fair. ✓ Great game definitely recommend, although few things I would changeReally enjoy this game, I downloaded it on an old phone and sad to see that I could transfer the date due to having an iPhone so I had to redownload the game meaning I had read episodes original stories before I could unlock the all the story’s which I’m perfectly fine with because you only have to read about one story (18 episodes i think) and I wouldn’t enjoy that but the gemssss!!!?? You get one gem per episode and it almost always cost more than about 20 gems to actually choice the good options which I think is absolutely ridiculous there is no way you could get those gems without purchasing them. I can deal with the ads and having to wait for more passes but I can’t deal with the gems! Gems are in game currency and the only way to get them is by reading certain stories(you only get one per chapter) or paying. Now I’d be fine if you rarely needed gems or if the gem options cost around 5 gems each but they usually cost 19 gems! 19 gems is way to high and is ridiculous! The worst part is that a lot of the good choices are locked behind gems! I’ve had to let down friends, insult people, fail races and just be an overall terrible person because I simply couldn’t afford the gem options! I don’t like how when I’m looking for ink user stories it’s just limelight now and episode stories are only limelight. ✓ A ShortfallDespite it’s great story creation and character animations, I’ve felt dissatisfied with a handful of things in the app. Firstly, with a quite below average rewards system, people like me (without access to purchasing diamonds) cannot purchase premium choices in stories, no matter how little those premium choices make to the storyline. Secondly, a story offering premium choices without a diamond reward for every chapter read really turns me away from reading as, in mentioned above, I have no way of purchasing diamonds to purchase premium choices as I have been locked out of money purchases through my Apple devices (thanks Apple). Third and finally, many of the stories (including ones with premium choices) have predictable storylines, predictable upcoming premium choices, a plateau of emotional intensity through love interest scenes, action scenes etc. and doesn’t do the app justice in helping engage the customers, especially with overlapping plot points in similar genres. At this point, I’m not bothered if I read anything more from the app or not. I’ve nothing to gain or lose and nothing to enjoy in continuing to use it. ✓ Great appI’ve always loved this app, and it has come so far over the last few years. One thing I have noticed though is that in all the main stories if you don’t have the money to get the coolest clothes or to do certain activities, you’re made to feel bad about it! I get that it’s a tactic to real in money but when young girls (and boys) learn this kind of thing they get subconsciously aware of their societal class and it’s almost implying that they won’t be able to get those clothes, fame, relationships, or hang out with certain people unless they have money. It’s not good! I think there should be at least some stories (that aren’t the user stories, even though those are great!) that don’t make you pay with diamonds for cool events or fashion. We’d rather watch some ads to be able to do these things, compared to spending real money on diamonds! But on a different note, they’ve got so many great stories in the User Stories section! I have literally almost read all of them. They have such talented writers on here! And in those stories you don’t have to pay for scenes, friends, or clothes, so to anyone who may want to consider getting this app, there’s a huge plus! Also they have updated the facial features and clothing on the characters to look much better and more realistic. ✓ Amazing App with a few problems.I really, really like this app. It’s really addiction but there are somethings I don’t like about it. First of all, unless you buy a ton of the diamond thingies, you are stuck doing all the boring activities. Situations come up now and again when you have the choice to do some thing exciting, but you can only go through with it it you spend up to 30 diamonds on it. ✓ Pros and ConsI like Episode, but there are a lot of faults. First off, a lot of the stories only have choices that cost gems. For example, Protect Me (Always) had not a SINGLE choice that didn’t cost gems. Also, I think the rewards for reading an entire story should be more than 1 gem. Finishing a story should be at least three or four gems. I appreciated how in the Demi Lovato story you could earn gems in the actual gameplay, which made it much more appealing to me. Also, many of the stories have inappropriate material, and a majority of users are children, but I do appreciate the addition of warnings about content. I have seen many reviews about passes, but that doesn’t bother me too much, but maybe as time goes on, you can earn more than 4 passes as added incentive to continue playing. That being said, there are definitely some perks to episode. I think that many of the stories are beautifully written and they compel me to keep reading. ✓ Not what it wasEpisode used to be good. It still has many good stories by creators outside the company but these creators receive no praise or even acknowledgement from the company. To play the stories you need tickets unless you want to buy them you have to wait 4 hours for four tickets. The company has stated that they are focusing on another style now and I think it is awful to advertise something that will not receive any new clothes, new company produced stories or any featured stories. When I first downloaded the app there were no gems (the episode equivalent of money) so none of the options would cost anything and you could chose what ever path you would like your character to go down. The concept of the game and how it works isn’t the problem. However I (and multiple other people) have a problem with the system the game uses to function. For example, just now I went back to the app around 6 o’clock 6:30pm and it is currently 9pm. I used the rest of my four passes before 7 and it showed 3 and a half hours left but when I just checked it was telling me I still had to wait for 2 and a half hours instead of one and a half. That’s an hours extra wait time. Players shouldn’t have to use all four passes in order to reset the timer to earn more. It should be an hour or even half an hour for each pass with the option to watch ads (limited number per day) in order to earn more. Additionally players should be able to watch ads and earn gems, even if it’s just two or three at a time because we want to be able to play the game fully. ✓ Money hungry developersWhat bothers me about this game is that the developers are just way to hungry for more money. As you are reading a story (I was reading don’t hate the player) there are for gems which are used in episode for certain choices, (basically like a in-game currency) which you can get from buying with real money or finishing a chapter. (keep in mind that the gems are way to overpriced) and as I was reading this story it gave me two options and obviously I took the free one, but then I realised that all the good choices for some reason costed gems. I didn’t really mind this at first but then it got really repetitive and annoying. Then I had ran out of tickets and obviously I checked them. I had to wait 3 hours for one more or pay, guess what, money. The stories are alright, but the developers are getting greedier and greedier. Then I saw a button that said, unlock full catalog and guess what… it costed gems. So I had to read like 17 of episodes pre-made stories to finally unlock the user’s stories/ full catalog. I’m not 100% sure if it was just the story that I was reading had like SO many gem options, or all of episodes pre-made stories are like that. ✓ It’s the gems for meI love you episode it is a fun game and I enjoy playing it but there is a few problems that need fixing otherwise this game wouldn’t be very liked in my opinion. The gems and tickets: when you play episode you get to use tickets which let you do other episodes and there’s the diamonds which chooses what you do in situations depending on how many you have. To be honest I hate both, they don’t do anything except from making the story worse and makes me not want to read any and it upsets me you can never truly see the characters develop because of the gems and tickets. You forget what even happened because you run out of tickets so easily and then you have to wait for more or you have to pay. ✓ GemsHi! So the game itself is really awesome (mostly), with some lovely immersive stories and plots. I have a couple of requests to improve the game though. Firstly, I don’t have episode VIP as £13/ a month seems unfair in comparison to other memberships on different games. It also doesn’t come with many benefits. Because I don’t pay for episode VIP, I am constantly short of gems. Most storied require a large amount of gems for the best playing experience and I think that the prices should be lowered. For example, often I come across the option to wear a dress - for 29 gems! I feel that the game would be better if options like these cost a far more realistic 19 gems, give or take. My second grudge is that in most stories (excluding a few very good ones) love is the main focus. I feel that other plots could be fun too. Not only that, but the player often is not able to choose the love interest. I was playing a story once, and I was very attached to one of the characters. During one scene, my character was speaking with their best friend and stated that they, ‘just aren’t compatible with _____.’ And instead of being able to control whether or not I believed we were compatible, I ended up having to date a character that I despised (the main love interest.) I have recently downloaded it again and I have to say, yes I enjoy the storylines however I am sick of having to use gems to get through the story. ✓ Getting worse not betterI have been a long term user of episode (several years). Some update have been good such as the graphics which have improved amazingly! Some have been more questionable or made towards more money making aspects such as diamonds. These are used in episodes for some choices (usually the better one you’d like to choose) these are bought or earned sometimes buy reading episodes. Up until recently this was mainly in just episode made stories however I have heard that they are encouraging all user made stories to include these. Meaning not only you will need to pay for passes (you do get a certain amount per day but it is not enough for an avid reader like me) but also diamonds now to follow a story and make the choices you really want to. I understand passes and adverts and why their essential to get the app money. I use this app quite a lot so I would buy the £9.99 unlimited passes for a month as this was the best deal for the amount I read and got rid of adverts!!! However they have recently got rid of this which has lead me to leave this review. I don’t believe it’s worth me buying passes as for £9.99 I get 37 which is still a lot however I would often read 10+ chapters a day. I would be spending WAY too much money now and the adverts are not gone. Gems were used to buy ‘cooler’ outfits which then may unlock a perk or extra side storyline that wasn’t crucial to the plot. I just downloaded the app again yesterday and it is completely different. Gems now dictate the entire storyline of each Episode. You have to use gems to tell someone you have a crush on them/like them, the free option is ‘I don’t like you’!!! So effectively, the only way to progress through a story in the way you want, is to pay. There is also a significantly smaller variety of Episodes to choose from. When I first opened the app it forced me into a story called ‘Love on Fire’ which is basically Love Island. I have no interest in romance stories so it’s very frustrating. You have to play through episodes in order to unlock spots for new episodes. And you don’t even get to choose which episodes to unlock!! It gives you random romance ones. All in all, you have to pay to progress in stories that you don’t even want to be playing. Not worth it at all and a completely different app from the one that brought happiness to my childhood. ✓ STRIKEHello I’ve had this app for a few years and as I played it I loved it more and more, but it has recently come to my attention how unfair episode is to the community. If you play episodes you know there is Ink and Limelight. Well in a attempt to get rid of ink authors and stories Episode has come with new guidelines. These guidelines apparently don’t apply to limelight authors but ink well we are really getting beat up with this. Some of these new rules include in fight scenes we can’t throw more than 5 punches during the duration of the whole episode, or no teacher and student relations. But it seems that one of there featured limelight stories have those relations so episode I’m afraid to tell you that your breaking your guidelines and now your going to have to change the whole plot of your story. Well at least that’s what you told one of your most popular ink authors to do! Last but not least Episode writers aren’t allowed crossovers due to copyright, even if you get the other authors permission. But episode has a Instagram post talking about a possible crossover but wait it’s only for limelight I guess. These are just a few of there new guidelines and it is killing me. The community wants Episode to listen. Listen to us I don’t even read featured stories or limelight I read ink by my favorite authors, and I’m deleting the app until episode listens to us. ✓ Please Listen to Us!!I first downloaded Episode years ago way back when it was first being released. And I loved it! For a little while. I found a lot of little flaws that eventually built up and made my experience awful. So I deleted it. Then a year or so after that, I redownloaded it because I wanted to create a story and I missed reading all the stories. But again little things got in the way and I deleted it. And downloaded it for a third time because I really wanted to play. This last time I downloaded it I saw that a lot of things had changed like the ticket and gem/diamond situations. It has already begun to frustrate me and I’ve had the app for 20 hours. So, I decided to check out the reviews to see if other people were feeling the same way. I went back four months, which isn’t a whole lot, and people back then were complaining about the ticket and gem issue. That means that Episode has not fixed this problem for months but the app has the holiday design and says it was updated more recently than that. This means that the people at Episode aren’t bothering to listen which is really disappointing Honestly, it is a really fun game but I would not recommend downloading it unless you’re okay with not having any choices or having the options and spending a bunch of real money. Seriously, I know this isn’t real life but...would you have to pay diamonds to wear something nice that you already have in your closet! No! At least have a source of some sort to earn them, instead of waiting a day to only earn like 1. I understand you want to make money off of your game, but this is to much! Those people who are insanely rich probably don’t have a problem, but I’m sure those people who don’t have iTunes money and stuff are sick of having to wait a whole day for diamonds and 3-4 hours for only 3-4 tickets! Really, in all honesty I would actually watch like 17 ads to get a few diamonds and tickets rather than waiting a day, and 3-4 hours. It’s true. ✓ Awesome but needs something...I got Episode about last month I think and I think it’s a really cool app. You can play stories that are on TV and choose how you want to play it. There is Pretty Little Liars and lots of other stories! After playing quite a few stories I then got a message saying I’ll get 4 tickets every 4 hours. And I do! I think this app is awesome but be careful if you are an adult reading this because some stories have a thing at the beginning saying ‘this story has mature themes and strong language’ but others might not even if they do have mature themes and strong language. So watch what your child is playing on Episode unless they are over 13 cos then they can make their own choices. The only thing I don’t like is how some big choices use lots of gems. I know u can buy them but still! I have to go and find some stories that say ‘Earn Gems!’ To actually get some. Or I have to pick the other story. ✓ Love the stories but hate the gemsI love this app, the stories are great, I found myself really addicted to finding out what would happen next. I like the way you can chose how the characters look, outfits they wear and can chose what way the story goes. The only downfall is that to make better choices in the game or for the nicer outfits you need to use gems. You can either buy 60 gems for £4.99 or watch ads to earn gems but you only earn 1 gem per episode and when every second choice requires 17 to 30 gems to make the better choice you would of finished the whole story by the time it takes you to earn enough gems to make one choice. I find myself buying the gems in order to make the choices I wanted and it gets very expensive very quickly, I’ve spent at least £100 on one story that had 15 episodes in it. The game really needs to reduce the amount of gems it takes to make a choice or increase how many gems you can earn by watching ads and so on. I’ve deleted and re added the game at least 3 times because although I really enjoy it, I don’t want to have to spend a fortune to finish a story, when £4.99 only allows you to make 3 or 4 choices, so you easily need £8 to finish one episode in a story, that could have 20+ episodes Developers it’s really not fair how many gems it takes to make good choices in stories, I can’t express it enough.Kerry khVersion: 11.71
